LJ is seriously the highlight of my tv viewing week. I dvr this show so it didn't matter that the night changed. I have been a faithful viewer since the very first show. I am very bummed that this show is being cancelled and there are so many shows out there that are just crap!

I can't believe that they are thinking about canceling this show. It totally rocks! My friend got me hooked this season and I in turn have gotten all of my friends hooked. Is there anything else we can do to try and save it????!!!!

I CANNOT believe NBC is thinking about cancelling this show - It is a MAJOR highlight of my week and is my one hour to truly escape to live in a world of fashion and love. Don't cancel Lipstick Jungle. It's one of the best shows out there. I don't get to watch it on TV, but I always catch up online and watch every week. I have never missed an episode and I even got my friends to watch it too. Please don't cancel. WE LOVE THIS SHOW.

Here's something to think about. My wife and I are huge fans and loyal viewers of the Jungle, BUT we rarely watch it on TV. We wither Tivo it or watch it online - probably doesn't count toward the ratings. I'm guessing a huge part of the audience does the same. Don;t underestimate viewership based on TV ratings alone. I absolutely love this show. There are so many horrendous shows on the air that I don't find entertaining in the least yet somehow they hang on. I am a religous LJ watcher and have been since day 1. I am SO upset to see it go. It is one of the only shows I make sure is on my PVR every week. I don't find this show was given a fair chance at all. They had it on Wednesday and gave very little notification that the night was moving to Friday's. They definitely don't market it or advertise it like they do other shows. I have gotten many friends hooked on the show since first watching it and think a bit of publicity is all that it needs.

Lipstick Jungle is the best thing NBC has going for them right now! They can't cancel it. Honestly, I'm speechless! The cast is amazing, interesting story lines, and I love the high fashion. It's like a chick flick once a week. I record it so the night really doesn't matter to me. I'll get my tube of lipstick in the mail asap.

I cannot believe the network is seriously considering canceling Lipstick Jungle! This show is pretty much the only show I make a point of watching. No matter what I'm doing, I tune in every week to see what Wendy, Victory, and Nico are up to. I like having a show that shows realistic female relationships, albeit in a much more expensive wardrobe than I personally wear. Isn;t that the way it usually happens? You get a show that women enjoy and it gets cut!! I've about gotten to where I hate to even start watching something of any substance, it just gets taken off to have another silly reality show or something.

As the ultimate SATC fan I was sooo excited about LP...AND LOVED IT!

I knew when it switched to Friday nights that it was the kiss of death. I am so disappointed! Just when there is a show with characters I care about, they give it the axe. No wonder NBC can't get any ratings...

Ok after the episode that was on tonight you really cant except us to just walk away from watching this amazing show? NO I haven't missed an episode since day 1 actually i was in the middle of reading the book when i found out it was becoming a show SWEET...I will definitely be sending my lipstick out! And just to recap the comments above and aside from absolutely loving the plot and characters:

1. the show was poorly marketed - have you noticed how many commercials are there for My name is Earl on TBS? and not to talk about how other networks (e.g. USA) markets their 'top' shows (Starter wife, which in comparison to the Jungle is horrible; in my opinion)

2. The ratings cannot be counted only based on viewers at the time each episode as was many of us Tivo it or watch it online. Therefore, if those numbers are not taken under consideration it is a shame that the show is canceled.

In any even I am sending my tube, or two and hope enough of us do it so we can get our show back.

I've never been one to want to protest to keep a television show, but this is worth it. I'm tuned in each week thanks to TIVo regardless of the recent change to Friday nights. I haven't missed an episode, and I know my girlfriends haven't either. Sending lipstick or not . . . NBC should be reading bloggers comments and take note that we (the viewers) want our weekly dose of Bushnell. My husband will willingly sit through each episode of the Jungle, but he won't even tolerate one minute of a long-standing show like Grey's Anatomy.

I just finished watching the 11/14/08 episode and it was great! I knew when they moved it to Friday night that it was about to be canceled. Friday nights are the burial grounds for most shows. For example, Men In Trees! Why is it whenever there is a great show for us women, it gets axed? I'm so tired of getting involved in a show and it's characters only to be disappointed by it's too early demise. The big-3 networks are making this a regular habit. I think we all may have to switch to satellite/cable and stay there. What a shame to cancel such a well written and wonderfully acted show.

I cannot believe this! This is my favorite show and I rush home from wherever I am to see it (no matter what!) I love this show and can't get enough! WAKE-UP NBC!!! You need to look at this show differently. So many fans love it, there has to be something there worth saving and cultivating. You certainly can't find this kind of passion out there about the cancelation of My Own Worst Enemy. If you make all the shows available on-line, you set yourself up for viewers watching it someplace other than during the network airing. If the current audience isn't big enough to keep it afloat that is because you don't promote it. You ran a few ads during the olympics a month before it even started and then you focused on all your other pathetic attempts at entertainment. Then you changed the night to the worst night of the week and didn't even tell anyone. There are still 5 episodes left that have already been filmed. Couldn't you at least promote them and air them and give it another 5 weeks? Many of the people that love this show are busy...I'm sure you can relate...you need to let them know it is out there...they won't go looking on their own. You are missing a huge opportunity to turn you viewership around. You cannot possibly be proud of much that you currently have on your network. This show is a chance for you to bring in new viewers to a weak network! Please save this show!

How could they cancel such an interesting show! I like it better than sex in the city because of the limited sexual content. The characters and stories are very interesting. For once that NBC has a very good show that takes me away from ABC excellent series, they want to cancel it. I am very unhappy about this decision, really!

It is the highlight of my week, every episode is witty, sexy and smart. I can't imagine not having the show, it brings my friends together for drinks and a girl night. We tape it because it's on fridays which is unfortunate. But it's one of those shows that's worth taping. The storylines are dynamic and I can't wait to find out if something more is going to happen with Victory and Joe. Don't take my three sassy and fabulous ladies away!!

Ok so this show is not killing everyone or some cop show... it is about normal women... that make normal mistakes and make us all feel so much better about ourselves. The cast is truely awesome and NBC is really making a mistake. I truely hope that they reconsider because I will make a point of getting more involved with shows on ABC and CBS.. Why get involved in these shows ... NBC just yanks them and does not care about their audience anyway.

Thank you! Thank you to all of you who watch with me, to all that work so hard to give us this show! I am here in Alberta, Canada and just came back from my first trip to New York City and it was Lipstick Jungle that inspired me to go. At 34, I have lived all over the world and a working mother of 2 wonderful daughters. This show fills me full of all that can me and I see a piece of me in all three of these wonderful characters! Walking on the streets that they film this show was one thrill, but to know that many other women struggle with the same problems that I do is so wonderful. Thank you to the writers for bringing to life the pain of loosing a job that is a part of you, a piece of you that you can not get back and for the strugle that it is to live in your life after loosing your sense of self. Ms. Shields did an amazing job of showing that pain, that fear and anxiety of trying to move forward after... I know that all too well.

Thank you so much Candace for this really look at women today and the happiness and struggles of being a working mother, a friend, and a success!

I am sorry but I didn't like tonight's episode... WHY are they separating Nico and Kirby??? I just don't get it. It is the BEST THING about the show. i am soooo disappointed.

If you are going to BREAK up VICTORY and JOE than go ahead and cancel the show..... I thought tonight's episode 11/14 was the saddest when JOE broke off with VICTORY. I was hoping she would yell back at him saying I love you and I want to marry you or do one of those scenes where her limo chases his and they stop in the middle of the street and they both come out of the limo and she said she wants to marry him. Then we would look forward to watching one of the best weddings of the year.

I am extremely upset with NBC for even considering canceling Lipstick Jungle! This show is a classy show and as others have mentioned, I haven gotten my husband hooked on it as well. I don't like Desperate Housewives and never watched Sex In The City either. This show is real life and appeals to us working ladies! First Jay leaves the Tonite Show and now this. What are they thinking? I am sending my lipstick tomorrow! I too often TVO the show so I can watch it later which may affect ratings, but I DO watch it religiously. It started off great but has only improved! PLEASE- give it one more season. I won't watch this network any longer if this show comes off the air! Somehow I am not surprised that LJ is being canceled, as ALL of my favorite shows from last season were canceled as well (on other networks). I cannot believe they are taking off Lipstick Jungle! They put that dumb show "Crusoe" on and show repeats of the same "Law and Order" (dead psychiatrist and dead dentist) about 5 times each in a few short months, and now they want to get rid of a great show with fantastic story lines and actors to match!!!

OMG I am lost for words! LJ is the highlight of my week and am always so excited to catch the next. I have watched SATC and Im sorry to say but Lipstick Jungle, even though its early days, has so much potential and had me hooked from the start. As me Im sure there are many woman out there heartbroken by the news, this programme is our inspiration and time out and in this day and age this is our cure. Im planning on sending lipstick in by the tonne.

I'm so sad. Please don't cancel this show. The characters are truly just getting off the ground. Learning more and mre about themselves. And yes, I agree, I think that this could be even better than sex and the city. The show is truly awesome. Some friends and I just started Friday night dinners. Each takes a turn hosting, we bring wine and a dish. A new Friday night for women. Please put the show back.

Again, NBC, you produce a good quality show, invest next to nothing in promotions, move it around so fast that the cable companies are two weeks behind in changing the listings to the new day (My DVR was still taping "LJ" on Wednesday's), and then cancel! With the ridiculous shows mentioned above still on the air and being well supported by NBC, you are in serious danger of losing this household to a total boycott of all NBC and their corporate sponsors! Let's see...the first season was only 7 episodes during the writer's strike and the second was during the most closely followed presidential election ever. NBC did not promote the show and did not take advantage of all the amazing marketing pportunities this show afforded it. Then to top it off...NBC moved it to Friday nights with no promos. No wonder the ratings are down. Give LJ another chance!!!

What a lousy decision to take Lipstick Jungle off the air. Between DVRs, Tivo, and the availability to watch TV shows on the internet, I think NBC has lost track on how to read numbers...not to mention changing the day of the week to show it. It is great to watch a show about women.

Combine the possibility of removal of LJ from your schedule with the completely irrational and childish recent behavior of broadcasters of your network with Time-Warner Cable, I think I may be finished. THIS SHOW IS GREAT! I can't believe NBC wants to take it off the air. It has been a long time since we have had a quality show on the air. I honestly can't say anything negative about the show - the women are strong, beautiful, smart and the storylines are strong. The writing is great, and the acting is believable.

I actually read the book on my honeymoon last year, and was pleasantly suprised to find that NBC was going to have a new show based on this book. Since its first airing, I haven't missed an episode yet.

I don't know how many lipsticks he'll get if we send. I'd like to send it if it will make a difference!

I might be one of the only guys to watch this, but hey I admit it, it's good! My fiancee and I DVR it and enjoy the story line and fashion. Being a former NYC'er, I love seeing all the sights and spots coupled with real world issues and characters.

Lipstick Jungle is supposedly the 6th most DVR'ed show on TV. I know that does not translate into ratings, but it does say something about the show. What it says to me is that the rest of NBC's programming is so weak that they can't find anything else to put with this show to create a "must see" TV evening. Why doesn't NBC take the time to promote the show with some better shows around it and then see if they can get more viewers to watch it live. I can't believe is going to be taken off the air. That is not right, I love the show. Shame on NBC for canceling a well-written show which just so happens to be one of the ONLY good shows on TV with strong female leads, not to mention the talented (mostly female) writing staff. I think John J Preston is right, they need to take into account the people who watch it online. I myself work on the night that it is on T.V. so I watch it the next day on line. NBC...Please rethink your strategy with Lipstick Jungle. There is so much you could have done to promote and market this show. With a little effort, you could get the TV ratings you are looking for with the key target market. Don't always take the easy way out...that is why you current programming is pathetic! There is very little worth watching on NBC. If you give up on such an great show with an AMAZING cast, there is truly no hope for your network. So many potential viewers don't even know this show is out there...this is a complete marketing failure on your part! PLEASE SAVE LIPSTICK JUNGLE...or at least let us see all 13 new episodes...that is the least you could do for all of its fans.

Okay, I am not one for acting on behalf of a show, but this will be the first, and for good reason. I relate to this show on so many levels it's not even funny, and my husband, a Wall Street veteran, will watch it with me....that in itself should be a strong message. It is so nice to have a show that features adult woman with lives that are believable and inspiring. I left corporate America, live 60 miles north of NYC, and drive my son to school and pick him up five days a week. That, the house, the shopping, the dogs, and I live vicariously through my husbands career. Please, you can not let these amazing characters go! Each has such a deeply developed sense of individuality. Each has unique strengths, vulnerability, and poignant moments to show courage. And I have become friends with all three of them....yes, I said it, and sappy as it may be, that's how it is. The way these characters are woven together is brilliant. So many of the issues they face, I too have struggled with. I can't wait to see how they handle the next potentially life-altering challenge.

I have become a reality TV junky because of all the routing, boring, run-of-the-mill shows, in my humble opinion. That is, until Lipstick Jungle. Not only was I thrilled to see Brook Shields involved, but Andrew McCarthy tops it off. Not to mention every other actor cast seems made for the role, and they all blend amazingly and so believably together. It doesn't hurt that they are all hot, and dress in fantastic fashion....it's just all good!

I haven't sent my lipstick yet, but I just posted the instructions on my Facebook page, informed my friends who are also Lipstick Jungle fans, and offered to send in as many lipsticks as they wanted in their names if they don't have time.

Please.....as it is I can't get enough....don't take this show off the air. Not to mention, for all those young woman out there who need a little dose of reality about women and our roles, and how classy women handle adversity and overcome heartbreak.....we need a show like Lipstick Jungle. My husband and I LOVE LJ! I DVR the show all the time! The show adds different perspectives than any other shows out there! I love the friendship, the complicated issues of marriage and the fantastic elusive relationship! Whatever will we do without LJ?

Okay, I am not one for acting on behalf of a show, but this will be the first, and for good reason. I relate to this show on so many levels it's not even funny, and my husband, a Wall Street veteran, will watch it with me....that in itself should be a strong message. It is so nice to have a show that features adult woman with lives that are believable and inspiring. I left corporate America, live 60 miles north of NYC, and drive my son to school and pick him up five days a week. That, the house, the shopping, the dogs, and I live vicariously through my husbands career. Please, you can not let these amazing characters go! Each has such a deeply developed sense of individuality. Each has unique strengths, vulnerability, and poignant moments to show courage. And I have become friends with all three of them....yes, I said it, and sappy as it may be, that's how it is. The way these characters are woven together is brilliant. So many of the issues they face, I too have struggled with. I can't wait to see how they handle the next potentially life-altering challenge.

I have become a reality TV junky because of all the routing, boring, run-of-the-mill shows, in my humble opinion. That is, until Lipstick Jungle. Not only was I thrilled to see Brook Shields involved, but Andrew McCarthy tops it off. Not to mention every other actor cast seems made for the role, and they all blend amazingly and so believably together. It doesn't hurt that they are all hot, and dress in fantastic fashion....it's just all good!

I haven't sent my lipstick yet, but I just posted the instructions on my Facebook page, informed my friends who are also Lipstick Jungle fans, and offered to send in as many lipsticks as they wanted in their names if they don't have time.

Please.....as it is I can't get enough....don't take this show off the air. Not to mention, for all those young woman out there who need a little dose of reality about women and our roles, and how classy women handle adversity and overcome heartbreak.....we need a show like Lipstick Jungle. It should be mandated for seniors in high school....boys and girls. Okay, that might be a bit much, but you get the point. I'm sure I've missed a major point for keeping LJ on air, but this is a start.

The best revenge on NBC is High Ratings, we have to get the numbers up Significantly and ASAP. Tell everyone you know to watch 11/12 Friday @ 9:00pm CST. Turn on every TV in your house and Tivo the show too! Spread the word to the local radio and news stations that its not cancelled yet.

LJ needs good press to get ratings up! Make a sign "save lipstick jungle" if you live in NYC please go to Rockefeller Center and make some noise. Get recognized by the Todayshow so more viewers will get the news that the show still has a chance! Bottom line seems to be Ratings! WATCH the show LIVE on every TV you own!

I just want to add my support to LJ! I am also an on-line viewer, but I love the show and have never missed an episode!! I was bummed about the move to Friday night too. I just can't think why NBC is going to end the show with so much viewer support. This is the only show on NBC I even watch, it seems lame that with so many women only tuning in to watch this show on your network you willing to alienate them by taking the one show they do watch off the air.

It that it for Nico and Kirby... now they don't even listen to each other? I don't like the direction that storyline is going... AT ALL
They are the reason why my friends and I tuned in. It's so frustrating that after 1 1/2 season where they were AWESOME together the writers decided to end the story like this.

NBC...can't you see how many people are passionate about this show? You have made so many mistakes with the marketing of this show that everyone connected with its promotion should clearly be fired! This show could be the start of a change of fortune for your network. Your programming (except for LJ and the news) stinks and so do your ratings. Did you ever think that the ratings for LJ are not good because you don't have any respectable viewers tuning in during prime time? You need to surround LJ with some worthwhile shows and give it a real day of the week (not Friday) and then PROMOTE it! I could go on and on about all the marketing possibilities for this show, but instead you could go out and actually hire someone with talent to market it and spend some or your time promoting it during your other shows. No one even knows when it is on! The strike and the election both played a role in reducing LJ's ratings. Give it one more season with some real promotion and I am sure it will be a big success!!!

Please do not cancel Lipstick Jungle! This is the one show that I make sure to watch every week....either on TV or online. Moving the show to Fridays was a bad, bad move. Keep this season going!

NBC...do you even know your target consumer??? Did the thought ever cross your mind to market this show? One of the main characters is the editor in chief of a magazine...have you heard of advertising your shows in fashion magazines. Did you know they would be happy to sell you a full page ad to help market your show to your target consumer. Then maybe your target consumer would know what night and time the show is on. You don't think the target consumer of this show is already watching NBC do you? They might be watching the today show or the tonight show, but you never promote it during thoses programs. If all your programming is junk, then the LJ consumer is not watching your network yet (and by the way you want this consumer watching your network!). You need to market the show so they get excited about it and want to watch it on NBC. Don't miss this big opportunity to attract new viewers. Save Lipstick Jungle!!!

I have a theory. NBC went through a lot of trouble promoting the new line-up on Wednesday nights, NR..Life and Law & Order. Only after a few weeks they are shaking it up again. Now they are promoting Rosie
O'Donell's variety show at 10pm. I think NBC moved LJ to Fridays because the ratings were low but not low enough to axe. Moving it to Fridays pushed it over the edge to allow it to be considered for cancellation. That opened up the door for Rosie's show to have a slot. I guess NBC will move one of their other bubble shows into that Friday night slot as they reshuffle the chairs on the Titanic. NBC thinks that women are going to be so gullible to forget about a show that they LOVE and just accept another show because it is headed by another woman...I'm not! If this is their plan, they are about to make the same mistake the Republican Party did with the women's vote after Hillary Clinton lost the nomination. We want to choose who and what we want. I guess NBC thinks that they can get rid of one mostly women's show and replace it with another and we will just accept it. If NBC axes Lipstick Jungle, I will boycott Rosie O'Donell's new show! Lipstick is a very, very well written show. That is rare in today's television atmosphere. I hope NBC realizes the tremendous fan base the show has and just changes it to Monday or precede Rosie on Wednesday. Instead of making Wednesdays "Crime Night", they can promote it as "Ladies Night". Consider it NBC!

First of all, let me say that I'm not the kind of man to watch that type of show. For some reason, I fell in love with this show the very first time I watched it and have been addicted since. If NBC's going to end the show just like that, it's very disappointing and a waste of my time! By the way, this is the only show I watch on NBC so please consider not canceling the show.

I just don't get it...you also cancelled My Own Worst Enemy, but you keep promoting that show anyway. You have not promoted Lipstick Jungle in weeks. Did you notice which set of fans is in a complete state of uproar? And that is just the fans that happen to know you cancelled it. Most are still trying to figure out why the show is no longer on Wednesday nights. Why can't you just show the last five shows and really promote the show and see what happens. Its not like you have any other shows to broadcast instead...in case you are wondering...Rosie is not a good substitution...LJ fans Will NOT be going anywhere near that pathetic attempt at entertainment. I made a comment two days ago about this WONDERFUL show and I've stayed in contact everyday to watch the readers blog grow. It's just amazing to me the love and support of this show that all the fans are showing. Surely NBC will take all of this into consideration as to the fate of LJ. Ok I wrote this morning and have read the blog since I posted. I would like to mention one more thing, I was considering blocking NBC when Leno leaves! Now I will have to miss Leno, cause some idiot at NBC can't do his/her job and promote and/or market Lip Stick Jungle correctly. I am soooooooo disappointed, please do not cancel LJ!!!!

Everyone I know loves this show and watches it faithfuly! The problem isn't that people aren't watching, the problem is that the networks don't have a good way of capturing reality! Every good show gets cancelled and all of the junk stays on the TV. My husband has already stopped watching network shows and it this gets cancelled, I will join him!

Please NBC! Rethink this awful decision! This is a fantastic show- the cast is wonderful- the sets are great, the wardrobes are inspiring- For once in a very long time, women finally have a show to look forward to. One that doesn't involve reality tv, hospital themes, unfunny sitcoms (hello Kath & Kim). There will be a big hole in the lineup if this show is pulled! PLEASE change the night! Give it another chance-

I haven't missed an episode ever since it started. I don't have a TV but watch the show online every single week, sometimes watching an episode several times. The show has a positive and cheerful tone that is much needed in this stressful time (and after long hours studying and working). Online and DVR viewing should count for they reflect more accurately the popularity of a show.

As for the writing, I like the show much, much better than the book. Kuddos to the writers. I wished, however, that the women depicted would be a tad bit more multidimensional. I know the story is based on the book and I don't know how much creative freedom you have, but it would be great if you also keep featuring issues that even powerful women care about and which the rest of us, non millionaire, can relate to.

I am suggesting, assuming that you keep writing in the future and assuming that NBC comes back to its senses, that you dig deeper with the green issue with one of the character deciding to go green and trying (with or without success) to change her lifestyle (and be a pain in **s for the rest of her friends); that one has some kind of humanitarian project, that we see at least one of the women use her power and connection for a lost cause she will feel passionate about etc...
I like the show, but, and that part is faithful to the book, the characters are too egocentric most of the time and it makes me wonder if the 5th avenue ladies are ALL like that. Which I doubt.

Anyway, you have my support. :)

This is the best show I've seen in my whole adult life. I liked SATC but this is different. Much better and easier to believe. Please do not cancel this show. I am watching Lipstick Jungle from Norway and I have to say I LOVE IT!!!! Please keep it on the air!! My friends and I gather once a week to watch and we simply love everything about it. Canceling this show would be a HUGE mistake. LJ is definitely could be the next Sex in the City. It's great to see all the fashion and styles every week. PLEASE DON'T CANCEL THE SHOW! This show has the depth and allure that cannot be found in the majority of television shows these days. It is the only show that I watch on NBC! The reasons why the ratings are not stellar are that many viewers of the show (like myself) watch it online and that not enough publicity has been done for the show. In comparison to CW's Gossip Girl and 90210, whose billboards bombard the streets of Los Angeles, Lipstick Jungle has not had its fair share of exposure in the media! With that said, please give Lipstick Jungle a chance!

GREAT STORYLINE, GREAT PLOT, GREAT ACTORS.
REPUTATION IS FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE NUMBER GAME!!

NBC gets their money from advertisers. Advertisers want people to watch their commercials hence why the rating numbers count. Fans want Lipstick Jungle but if the numbers aren’t there the show goes away. They moved it from Wed. to Friday b/c the ratings were low. All NBC cares about is results and it seems the only way to track those is by the ratings. We have to watch the show LIVE or no more Lipstick Jungle!

NBC is clueless and I hate the system but I love the show and don’t want it to get cancelled!!!!

Lipstick Jungle has been the best show this season. I haven't seen a show with this much substance in a long time. This show truly has what it takes to rise to the top. The show has the three most wonderful actresses. I love Brooke Shields, Lindsay Price, and Kim Raver I think they are the best actresses in a trio since Sex and the City. I am very disappointed to hear that Lipstick Jungle [LJ) might be cancelled. I love this show and don't want to see a really good show get cancelled. I also want to add that just like we have to change as technology changes, so does the Executive of NBC. You can't just go by the Neilsen ratings anymore these days. Some people, like myself, don't watch any live T.V. I DVR a lot of different shows...Lipstick Jungle being one of them. I know some people that also watch the episodes on the website. These are just a few different ways to watch LJ at another time. I hope that you have a change of heart and reconsider!!!!!!! There are not that many good shows on NBC in my opinion, except for LJ. I LOVE Lipstick Jungle!!! It is my favorite show and I can't believe it is getting canceled. I look forward to it coming on every week. My friends and I watch it together. I'm addicted and I don't know what I'm going to do if there is no more lj. :(

I'm a professional writer and planned to write about Lipstick Jungle before its cancellation. I'm hoping the powers that be reconsider canceling this well-written, highly entertaining and superbly acted show. Both my husband and I were huge LJ fans and looked forward to watching every Wednesday night. I knew the Friday night timeslot change meant doomsday for the series but I was hoping against hope that wasn't the case. Here's what I planned to write about LJ:

Here’s a spotlight on a new show that’s a great example of this sophisticated, sexy and compelling new school of television series—Lipstick Jungle.

Lipstick Jungle NBC Fridays 10pm

Last television season Lipstick Jungle was one half of a network TV duo, along with Darren Starr’s ill-fated Cashmere Mafia, that took the baton and attempted to relay into the hearts, closets and minds of Sex and The City fans everywhere who where having withdrawal symptoms over that show’s small screen swan song. Both Jungle and Mafia were direct first generation descendants of SATC— before Candace Bushnell penned the book Lipstick Jungle, she was the author of the tome Sex and The City. And Darren Starr created Sex And the City the HBO series, as well as juggled writing and directing duties for the modern cult classic during its successful six-year Emmy clad run.

But the series Lipstick Jungle quickly sped to the head of its television class and emerged the victor—by coming back for a second television season. The show titles alone seemed to seal both series’ fates—just what is a Cashmere Mafia anyway? The phrase ‘lipstick jungle,’ however, sets off a cornucopia of images your head. It evokes attractive, successful women trying to make relationships and careers survive, work and thrive in a tough, cutthroat concrete jungle of mean New York City streets. Succinct, clear and universal—it’s only been two seasons, boy, do I love to watch it.

Jungle centers on the long-time friendships of Wendy (Brooke Shields) the film exec, Nico (Kim Raver) the magazine editor and Victory (Lindsey Price) the fashion designer. The basis for the show and its smart, intriguing storylines have been entertainingly addictive because they are so steeped in truth. Wendy’s in a happy long-time marriage but her husband’s music career had to take a backseat to her very successful film producer career. Victory is trying to take her clothing line to the next level and wonders where her billionaire boyfriend/ex-boyfriend Joe (Andrew McCarthy) should come into play in her career, and Nico is trying to stay afloat atop the magazine game, while juggling a young, new boy toy boyfriend in the throes of recent widowhood. Their loveless marriage grew even more complicated when her dead husband’s baby’s mama came a knocking for some cash. Umm hmm…that’s a little lipstick drama.

LJ’s well developed, richly colorful and complexly written women and men characters (this is not a no man’s land where the opposite sex is regulated to testosterone wallpaper) is only bolstered by its casting—which works on all levels. People of a certain age know and remember Brooke Shields as if she were an older sibling. People of certain age (and fans of particular decade) also remember Andrew McCarthy as the tortured, puppyishly cute teen heartthrob in films like Class, St. Elmo’s Fire, Pretty In Pink and Less Than Zero. It’s good to finally see McCarthy graduate into confident, sexy leading man status after nearly a decade as a sophomore McDreamy. Both Raver and Price put in memorable, sometimes fingernail bitingly good leading lady turns as Nico and Victory respectively. And Jungle gets big kudos for making Price, a Korean American, one of its principals. Not only because it’s long overdue that shows set in diverse urban environments like New York City start reflecting their wide and multiethnic milieus (Hello? It is 2008.) but because Price is so great in her role.

This season, Rosie Perez joined the cast in a reoccurring role as the charming yet ambitious publicist Dahla as did James Lesure (Las Vegas, Half and Half) as the brilliantly calculating magazine CEO Griffin. And speaking of multiculturalism, you gotta have some color behind the scenes to make a difference on screen and LJ can boast that too; Living Single creator Yvette Lee Bowser is both consulting producer and scribe for the series.

Please save Lipstick Jungle asap!

One last thing. If NBC will no longer run LJ, can't Bravo or one of the other NBC Universal cable networks pick it up? This incredible series would be sure to enjoy a long, healthy life one of these networks. Lipstick Jungle is better than Sex And The City and The Starter Wife and anything else comparable on the air right now. So LJ deserves its chance to leave lipstick prints on TV for years to come!

Thy stopped promoting it b/c the ratings were low. I saw ads for LJ in Instyle and I think People but not many and it was in August/Sept. issues. Moved it to Fridays b/c numbers weren't there- the end.

I agree with everything being said but the only thing NBC cares about is the ratings results. 3.58 Live viewers isn't going to keep the show around. Watch it LIVE on Friday or its gone for good.

Help NY City Lipstick Jungle fans! I’m in Texas but I would make signs and head to Rockefeller Center to make some noise! Get recognized by the Today Show, Hoda and Kathie Lee are supposed to be in a future episode 12/26 so they will want to spread the news so their episode doesn’t get cancelled.

Brooke Shields and Rosie Perez have been in movies. Don't they have a loyal fan base that we could tap into? Maybe they have "official websites" that I don't know about? And Roy's character is gay and there have to be a ton of loyal fans in the gay community pulling for his storyline?
PS- I will watch Live on Friday and send in my Lipstick and tons of it!

LJ can’t get a break. Now that the media reported the show is cancelled we have even more of a challenge. Did NBC ever come out and officially say the show’s been cancelled? NO, I don’t think so.

I know that this may not make a huge impact to the executives at NBC, but I just wanted to say that although I watch Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty, Gossip Girl, 90210 and all those other extremely popular shows, the one TRUE show that I wait for at the end of a work week (or in my case, school week) is LIPSTICK JUNGLE. I love each of the characters, especially the ladies, and I think that it's even better than Sex and the City - like it is usually compared to.

It may sound corny, but this show, Lipstick Jungle, it has inspired me to become a successful, famous, and respected woman in the business world. See, I hope to one day become and Architect and own my own business as a CEO and from since watching this show, seeing all three women go through trials and achievements in the businessworld have shown me that I can make it too if I try hard and have a little fun in the process.

This show makes me want to live life and never take it for granted. And the show tells me that the world is open to me and that I just have to take chances sometimes, even if they may not be the best, like Wendy. I have to be tough to women AND men in the workforce who may try to take advantage of me as a person and as an employee, like Nico. And sometimes we have to have a little fun and go through heartbreak in our personal lives like Victory.

PLEASE do NOT cancel this show. It is inspiring and I, and many people around the world (try looking on Facebook) believe that this is REAL television. Take away some of the crap reality shows and KEEP LIPSTICK JUNGLE.

I am sorry to see this series go. It was intelligent and for women about women. It was great to see a show about real issues working women face. I was happy to see it on Friday night because it was the only night I am not out driving my kids to their activies and I took control of the TV.

Nooo not yet. The show has barely had a chance. Most women are not big tv veiwers like men unless a really good show comes along. I believe this is one of those really good shows. It takes a while for word of mouth promoting and that is what women are best at. Please don't cancel the show. Give us some time to spread the word. SATC was almost canceled mid series and look at what HBO would have lost had they not decided to continue. SAVE LIPSTICK JUNGLE!!!

It's been a LONG time since I have made an effort to remember what night and time a show is on. Now I NEVER miss an episode. Its my favorite show by far, I watch every second and dont miss a beat! I love the story lines they are so smart and the cast is excellent and so good at what they do!! The cast is very believable and I think that is why so many of us love it. Why won't NBC promote the shows on Friday? Every other night had its promotions except Friday. Like I said previously, NBC wants Lipstick to fail so they can release a new line-up. If they cared about saving the show, they would stand behind it a promote it. NBC is full of FOOLS!

They won't cancel the show on one basic fact...the ratings. We either watch it LIVE this Friday 11/21 and give them the numbers they need to see or its gone. Ratings up or the END. Simple really.

NBC can’t figure out where LJ fits best because it doesn’t mesh with their other shows. Chuck, Heroes, My Own Worst Enemy, My name is Earl, Kath & Kim, The Office, 30 Rock, ER, Deal or No Deal and Crusoe. They can’t figure out where to put it so it sticks out like a sore thumb. The show can’t get a break!

The network had ordered 13 episodes for season 2 with option for more. All 13 have been produced. This means that even if we get to see all episodes, it's possible we are left with cliffhangers and questions at the end of the last episode. I will freak! Please save the Jungle!!

I am hooked and all because I read an article yesterday that this series is going to be cancelled. I don't watch TV all that often but thought I would check out what series Brook Shields was in that was failing. I watched the last episode and was hooked, then went back to the first and watched all that were available. For some reason episode 8, 9, & 10 were not available. WOW this is sad!!! I have my Tvo set to record every episode because Im not home at the time it comes on, and most of my freinds do the same. It will be a real shame if they cancel the show...This is the only show that has the style, freindship, glamour, ups & downs, fashion, and so much more that we can relate to in one way or another. my husband is not into chick flicks and he'll sit and watch it with me, so it's got to be good... hope it's not canceled.

I was taken by surprise (and deeply saddened) once I found out that the show was being taken off the air. This show is the highlight of my week!!! For a true SITC fan, this was the closest I could get to life in the Big Apple with wonderful, confident and high powered women with real issues that we all can relate to!! There is no other show like this on TV!!! NBC, you would be doing LJ fans a great injustice if you cancel this show!! Please don't take it away from us!!!

NBC...you haven't had a show this good since Friends! It encompases so many new fresh ideas in television. The cast are wonderful, the story line fabulously HOT. Seriously these writters are great..they found a way to touch all the old Sex in the City viewers and bring them up to speed Lipstick style. I really hope you are reading these comments, and really hope that our comments mean something, and get through. Ever since Lipstick Jungle aired I have been a fan! I drop whatever it is that I am doing or that I have to do to watch Lipstick Jungle. It is just not any other show! This is THE SHOW it is something to look forward to on my stressful week. Ienjoy this show so much; I haven't had a strong connection with a show since Friends. I cry, I laugh, I call my girlfriends to talk about it! I mean it might so silly but is true! Please don't cancel our little of joy. Please Please Pleaaaaaaaaaase Do not take Lisptick Jungle of air. Do not cancel it! Maybe putting it on a Friday Night wasn't such a great idea. The reason I found out about Lipstick Jungle wasn't through a TV commercial it was through an internet commercial and it was advertising it just the same day the show first aired. I get 2 hours, 1 day a week to sit and watch what I want to watch, alone. From the moment LJ ends I look forward to the following week so I can watch more. It is unfortunate that this show is on Fridays now, because my viewing means nothing. Fridays are the only nights I work. I love this show, not every episode is great, but I love this show. Maybe advertise on the show that you can vote to keep it on so the people who NEED to DVR can make a statement that this show means something to them. Maybe the advertisers could make their money by placing more of their products in the show. I see the iPhone is used...and others. It seems to me that the only thing on Friday nights anyway are info commercials and re-runs. But, I'm never home anyway so what do I know. Or, and this is a long shot, sell the show to HBO and we could get some better (not that it needs to be) Kirby-Nicco action! Women need more options on TV just for us, and I'm not talking Lifetime or TLC. In closing....my plea is for this show to stay on, if 1 more show I like gets cancelled off of NBC, what reason do I have to ever watch this network again?! SAD isn't even the word!!!!! I know this is probably considered pathetic.. but I nearly cried when I read the news officially... This is the first show in a long time that I HAVE to watch! I am going to miss this sooooo much!! Finally they have something great for women to watch with substance & they cancel it... I WISH there were a way to save this show.. ANY way to save this show.. The presidential debates and news shows about the election no doubt had an effect on the lack of viewers the past few months. Then go and move the show with no advertising to really try and promote the show. Geez, I wonder why ratings were down.

Give this show a true shot on Friday night with advertising and counting all ratings including TIVO, and then see how great the numbers are. Come on guys....We all need to be watching!!!!!

All I have to say is that NBC really needs to get their act together. LJ is one of the best shows on tv right now. I actually prefer it to Grey's. It shows real-life issues that women can relate to, both working women and stay at home moms. It empowers women and provides a great example that we can be anything we want to be. The friendships between the women exemplify true real-life friendships...those that are honest, fun, loving. I am so tired of the 30 minute "comedy" sitcoms that provide no substance. IF NBC truly beleived in this show, the advertising would have been much stronger that it has been. So, if cancelling the show is what they need to do, then so be it, but I can promise that I, along with many of my friends who religiously watch the show, will no longer be watching any NBC shows. WHY support a network that clearly doesn't care about what the real fans want. Here's another thought...if the show was not producing the ratings anticipated because of the time and day it was being aired, WHY would you move it to Friday evenings when your audience is out having dinner with friends and families...and not being able to stay home to watch. Are you trying to sabotage the show and it's rating???? Maybe try moving it to a Monday or Tuesday night when it's not competing with a strong ABC show. Regardless, this is just one more disappointment in NBC. No wonder why ABC has such great ratings.

I think it's stupid for taking such a great show off the air. Supposedly it's being compared to Sex and the City. I only watched a couple shows of SATC and LJ beats it by 100 times! I have to say that this show has made me sob uncontrollably, laugh without fear of judgment and dance like there's no one else in the room. I think that there is a part of me in all three women, and I think a lot of other people think that too. Even more so that Sex and the City this show has made me want to watch TV. If NBC is smart they will keep this show and put it in a Thursday night slot. Pump up the advertising and the brand. If they really want people to watch this show they know how to do it, SO DO IT!

I have recently started watching LJ and completely love the series. I have been enjoying it so much that just this weekend, I bought the first season's dvd and just today, I found out that the show may be cancelled. Please do give the show a chance. The characters are very interesting and their lifestyles invite pepole to watch the show.

I just read that LJ may be saved after high ratings last week! Thank goodness, this is one of my favorite shows. I have been a huge fan of Lindsey Price since 90210 and I love the Victory/Joe Bennett storyline...how can they NOT end up together?

EVERYONE I know watches Lipstick Jungle. Even my husband. I don't know how they figure what shows are doing well or not, but I actually PVR all the shows. So maybe that doesn't count in the ratings. I rarely watch television - that is actually an understatement for me. I use to watch it all the time; now only on rare occasions, for two shows: Lipstick Jungle and Biggest Loser. Lipstick Jungle is to great of a show to be canceled, and at 22 I find it much more entertaining and clinching than Sex & the City. Pleaseeee don't cancel it!

Yes, I did cry at the end of this episode. I wanted to smack Joe up side the head, but this is what make the show so great. We can actually feel something. The characters and the actors who play them are real, with real emotions. They are so good.

It looks like NBC is not canceling it yet. Ben Silverman has said that they will air the last 5 already filmed episodes and then make a decision about renewing it for another season. If the ratings go up (that means watch it LIVE and all the way to the end), they will renew the show. They still don't seem to be interested in promoting the show so make sure you spread the word that the show airs Friday at 10:00EST. Send lipsticks and letters, and WATCH LJ LIVE!!! This show is very good and I do not think it should be cancelled. I have never written to try to save a show before, but I think this one deserves my attention. I have LJ recorded on my TIVO every week, and I hope that it continues to show up.

This show can't go off the air. It's the first non law and order type show I've been into in years. The characters are great and the story line is awesome. It was easy to get attached to the characters and always make look forward to the next episode to see what happens.

I LOVE LIPSTICK JUNGLE! I was very disappointed when it moved from Wednesday night to Friday night but I still was able to watch once in awhile! I will be so upset if they take it off the air! Every woman I know watches it, I can not believe the ratings are not better!

I completely adore Lipstick jungle but I think your stragies are not one of the best. First of all, the show airs on fridays night when most people don't want to stay home and watch TV. Second of all, you make 8-9 episodes and than the season ends which disconnects the viewers from your show. By the time the next season start, viewers sort of got over the show, forgotten it or have passed to the next avalaible new show. consider taking risks, consider making, like all other show, 20 episodes seaons, air them during the week (monday through thursday) or sunday nights like desp housewives used to, advertise a bit more and you'll see how sucessful this show can be, because in fact the story plot is AMAZING and the girls are beautiful and in general it's one of the best shows since a very long time (in fact, since sex and the city whch ended 2004). Come on Keep the show on, but not for 9 episodes because than you'll be pshing your fans away.

Lipstick Jungle is a wonderful show. Love the cast, and storyline. I'm shocked that nbc is even considering ending this show. Listen to what the fans of the show know, its a keeper!

I love Lipstick Jungle. It is an adult show for us adult women. I am so sick of the crap on TV today. All these stupid reality shows. Quit copying Japanese game shows and stick with this great adult show. We are educated women that want quality shows!!

I love this show! I got my roommate hooked. I started in the second season and I just rented the first season. Why would you cancel this show?!? It is a good show with strong women and tight friendships. Keep it on the air!!!!!

Lipstick Jungle is an absolutely amazing show. It captures the attention of women and speaks to women of all ages and stages of our lives. It's perplexing to see the ratings- I saw it advertised twice, then stumbled upon it on the internet months later... and am now in love with your show!! A large reason the ratings are low is the lack of advertising- if the message of the show it put out there, PEOPLE WILL WATCH- but they need to know about it. I adore LJ and look forward to the possibility to more seasons to come, please keep it on the air.

I hardly watch TV, but I've allowed myself to give Lipstick Jungle a chance after some initial doubt. By the end of the first season, I knew I was addicted to the high powered storyline of these women. Lets face it, there are no shows out there that speak to us (women) in this manner. NBC owns Bravo, which features reality TV junk such as The Real Housewives of Orange County. Real Housewives may be a real life storyline, but there is no depth, and no message. The fictional lives of Wendy, Victory and Nico provide us viewers with a unique balance of entertainment and inspiration. But, to a mega network like NBC it seems like numbers outweigh the value of entertainment. There are people out there that will watch this show in growing numbers if you only had given it a chance. I am not a Heroes fan. I don't watch Kath & Kim. The Office and Lipstick Jungle are the only shows I bother watching on your network and now you are leaving me with only one. Thanks a lot.

Well, so long nbc...I faithfully watched Lipstick Jungle since the beginning and I have absolutely loved it. There's nothing else for me to watch on this network. ABC is kicking butt and I hope they grab this show! I watch 2-3 shows on cbs. Only this one on nbc, so...so long nbc!

This show portrays strong independent women on television, something we do not see often. It is so important we keep the show going. There is mad men and dirty sexy money but we need this show to show the women on top. Also, LJ is highly entertaining. Do us all a favor and don't cancel a classic :)

FOr the first time, today, I was able to stay home on a Friday night (by the way very bad day for the show to air, almost nobody is home a Friday night) to watch my favorite show LIPSTICK JUNGLE. I even thought I was tunning the wrong channel when I couldn't find it.
IT IS VERY DISSAPOINTING THE WAY THIS SHOW HAS VANISHED. I was really into it same as all these other women who have left a comment.
PLEASE DON'T CANCEL THIS SHOW!!! WE DO LOVE IT A LOT!!! HOW DOES NBC JUST LEAVE US HANGING IN THE AIR LIKE THIS!!!!

I love this show and haven't missed a single night. I think that the problem is how the network tracks what is popular. I don't think the so called ratings give an accurate portrait of what people are really watching some of the "most popular shows" or so they say like "My Name is Earl" and a few others on various networks seem to have no meaningful story line and are so stupid that most people with any kind of brain find them distasteful and would never watch them. In fact in my large circle of friends I don't know a single person who watches the above mentioned show and many who watch LJ.

I loved Men in Trees you should bring that back. Don't cancel Lipstick Jungle. NBC is so bad about putting things on and quickly taking them off. That is why I hardly watch this station.

This is very sad news for me... I absolutely love this show... it was definitely a show I looked forward to every week. The fact that it had been moved to Friday nights, worked-out perfectly for me and I'm sure for many other viewers. I loved another show (What About Brian), and that one also disappeared off the air without explanation. Lipstick Jungle is just an awesome, inspiring and entertaining show which really should remain on air. Seems to me that if a TV show doesn't offer rape scenes, murder scenes and cruelty, then it just gets booted off the air. Very sad news.

I LOVE THIS SHOW...even people in Sri lanka are hooked on it and even though it hasnt been aired in Switzerland as yet i pretty much got all my friends here hooked on the show too...thank god for the internet!!!
It would be such a shame if there is not going to be a 3rd season cos i think everyone wants to see how these characters develop..

What makes it so great is not just the impeccable performance of all the actors but how this one hour show can encompass the simple but intricate life story of three best friends, who in their own way are truly very different. This show is almost 3D for me, I feel as if I am caught inside this show for that one hour. Their stories so simple but complicated at the same time and I know I am not the only woman able to identify with at least one of the leading ladies.PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE dont cancel the show.

When is the third season starting?
Lipstick Jungle was a mix of fashion, romance, sex, teenage issues and just great episodes. The cast was perfect. Do yourselves a favor, bring it back and give it a chance!
