office jobs

Nice site keep up the good work. , king parrots, australian parrots.

Hello, My name is Cherry Nilsen. My husband and I are a really huge fan of The Office. I love the 4th season. The show last night was awesome Dinner party. I wanna ask on how to be a contributing writer for new episodes for The Office? i had some ideas that really happend in an office. My email address is simpleme258@yahoo.com. and Im from Manassas Virginia.

I appreciate your reply and share an office moment to your show. I love all what you write for each episodes. We had all the DVD's and can't wait for the 4th season guys:) I pray you stay till like 20 seasons like ER.
Keep up the good work and congrats for winning soo many awards...
We Love all cast Dwight, Michael, Pam, Jim:)

hey good show tonight, kinda curious about why the episode was short today, and is this going to happen every thursday? also kinda want to know more about how everyone else in the show is doing, curious about Dwight. Great show, hope to hear from you guys.

No joke, my friend broke up with his girlfriend because she was not like Jen. He has a huge crush on Jen and felt he shouldn’t settle for a girl who is a complete opposite. Stupid reason to break up with someone over, but I do agree that Jen is gorgeous.

looks like Andy got a new car. what happened to the xterra?

Do you have any words of encouragement for the writers currently on strike in Tibet?

Where can I submit my application to work on your set?

I only became a fan of the show last year after I cancel my cable…….are you kidinme!? I cannot believe what I have been missing! I mean I heard all the talk over the years ….but, well I’m young (31) inner city black male (now living in south GA), not exactly your target demographic but this show, this show! …..I have been so lookin forward for this strike to end! I actually cooked a special meal (Rachel Ray recipe) for tonight’s new show, I called it my “Back to Thursday Night Meal” complete with red wine. ….I cooked through Earl and 30 Rock, running back and forth but sat down to eat to The Office.

Please bring back the writers that used to write for THE OFFICE. This show SUCKED, SUCKED, SUCKED. How can you call yourselves writers.

I enjoyed tonight's show so much, things kept moving along quickly and it was great fun to see the interaction of Jan and Michael and Jim and Pam and all outside the Office. More surprises and I loved them all. You guys are brilliant!

Does anybody think that this is the last season or week that the OFFICE will air? I think this episode was the worst show I have ever seen and I plan on not watching on Thursdays anymore if these writers keep putting out crap.

What was the Christmas episode going to be like?

Do you get annoyed with fans telling you they have great ideas for the show?

My high school mascot was Digger Dan, we were the beetdiggers. Every time I hear about 'beet farms' I have flashbacks to school assemblies.

So was Jan "killed off?"

Was it hard for the actors/writers to get back into character and routine following the strike?

I'm so happy to have the show back! I'm student writing a research paper for my Conflict & Negotiation class. I selected the 07-08 WGA strike as my research topic. Can you all comment on how great it is to have that issue resolved and be back to what you all love doing -- writing! It would really help to add greater depth to my paper! Thanks!

Was the camera set up by Michael's bed a subtle homage to 8mm staring Nicolas cage?

I love the office, and it pains me to say so, but I don't feel that tonights episode was very good.
I feel as if I'm losing the office that I once loved. The show, as many others have done before it, is losing some of its integrity; its trying to get too serious.
Though I appreciate the work and ideas that have gone into this episode, as well as the fact that it delves deeper into the life of Michael and Jan, I really would have liked to return to the office with a light and happy episode like the ones of the first seasons.

I'm sure the following episodes will be great like they always have been, but just wanted to make that comment.
Thanks for the show!

exactly how much of the averaage episode is adlibbed?

My husband and I love the show. Thursday's episode was hilarious. I can't get enough of the show. throughout the week we see episodes from the dvds. the office rocks! its like the next "Seinfeld"

You guys are amazing!!!! as someone who is trying to break it as a writer, what kind of advice do you have?

So, every office/workplace has so many wierdos and different personalities like the ones on the show. Who inspired the characters who are on the show? Are any of the characters developed from personal experiences, and if so, do you ever get approached by people asking if they character is based on them?

What can we expect from the Season IV DVD?

thanks so much for a wonderful episode. so funny and awkward but wonderful! i can't wait for more.

the only way this day could be better is ICE CREAM!

...mint chocolate chip!

First, nice job tonight.

Second, I have an idea for an office episode based on a recent work experience. My office recently moved, and I was placed on a "Move Committee" which met at 8am every Thursday morning....8am!!! Anyways, some of the subjects discussed at the move committee meetings were too funny. Picture 30 people (half of them asleep) while the other 15 yell at eachother about the type of chairs we have in the new office. Surveys were release, samples of the chair were sent in. Would be happy to give you my ideas anytime. Once again great job tonight.

Hey Greg Daniels, love THE OFFICE love the hair but let me ask you a question about Johnny Depp? How exactly did you cajole him to do KING OF THE HILL in the "HANK'S BACK" episode as "Victor" the masseuse when he swore he would never do TV again let alone a FOX show after 21 JUMPSTREET?

thanks,
-ARM

I thought this episode was a little stupid, do you think the episodes you are wariting are a little to much.

Mr. Daniels,

I don't know if you'll ever actually see this, but as you can see my name is Sarah Siderius. I have been trying since the writers strike to find a way to contact you and I see this as my best bet at the moment. I have written an episode of The Office and, if I may say so myself, it's very well done. I have run it past many of my friends and they have been unanimously astonished at the way in which it seems to sync perfectly with the characters and overall feel of the show.

I must ask you to take a look at my script. If you have any doubts, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Please, Mr. Daniels, take a look at my script and I promise you will not be disappointed.

First off, I would like to say I love the show. I am sher you get ideas for episodes all the time but I think it would be a good idea to have an episode where Michel finds a tape of himself when he was a salesmen and he was just like Jim is now. The episode is about Jim freaking out that he may turn into Michel. Just an idea I thought I would throw at you and see what you think!

idea: Michael gets chosen for jury duty?

idea: Michael gets chosen for jury duty?

i've been to that party...yikes!
it's good that you are back.:)

the show often creates very uncomfortable moments to watch - is that done on purpose and how does it add to the intrigue and popularity of the office?

I LOVE THE OFFICE!
My dream is to join the cast in one episode...Is that at all possible? Even as a one shot deal? I write, direct and act and love taking diection :) I'll send my resume and headshot if you like :)

Thanks!

I have a friend who insists that it's Creed's voice talking about the coal mine elevator when Michael is trying to plan a surprise. Is it Creed Bratton's voice, and if not, who is it?

What can we expect from the Season IV DVD?

Will we see any holiday episodes?

Was there anything positive in terms of writing episodes of The Office, that resulted from the strike?

Are all of the actors on The Office really good friends in real life?

I am deeply offended that a perfectly good $200 plasma tv was broken. That would NEVER happen in the office...

- CURT

Do certain writers write for particular characters or do you switch around? How do you stay consistent? Brilliant episode!

You guys have shown tonight that this show has not yet hit it's peak - I have nothing but gratitude for your brilliance. 30 Rock was great tonight too - yeah writers!

Who do I have to bribe or beg to take Dwight's Trans Am for a cruise? Yeah, hows about a contest?! Winner gets to take her for a spin.

It was funny when I think about it and look back at it but a whole half hour of those 2 griping at each other was too much. I was uncomfortable for the dinner guests and so wanted the night to end for them so they could go do something like grab a burger....that part could have been longer and the dinner part wayyyyyyyy shorter.

I am an office fan, but I have never laughed out loud like I did tonight!

Great show - great writing! The dynamics of a bad economy make for great content....

love the show hope it won't become like so many have-crude in language and topics

this is the Last Season of the Office

Any chance of a Hunter music video for the DVD bonus features?

Gentlemen,

It's time for a mill trip. I've been in the business for 25 years, and mill trips are a very special part of the job. Having both the physical and mental scares to prove it, I think you should give some consideration to sending some of the Scranton team away for some field training.

I love the camera work for the show it makes it appear more realistic...almost like a reality tv show. Your show is extremly hilarious...haven't quite pinpointed the type of humor you all are using...is it all scripted or mostly adlibbed?

Hi! Loved the new episode. I have a realllllyyyyy good idea for a new episode. Could you email me so I can give you the gist of what I'm thinking? (as if you don't have enough ideas already, but I think this is an awesome idea)

Was tonight's episode based on real dinner party experiences? Of one writer? Or all writers worst experiences?

Hi! I love the show. I'm sure you hear this all of the time, but I think I have an amazing script for an episode. Would you ever take a script from a fan? Trust me it is amazing. I have had many people read it and they pee their pants. Let me know. It is registered with the WGA.

I've read that this episode has been on the minds of the staff for a long time. Were there any jokes or quotes in tonight's episode that you guys had in mind for a long time and couldn't wait to use?

Greg, Is it going to be a challange to hide Angela's baby bump through all 6 or 7 episodes? You did a good job tonight!

How much of what the actors rattle off is verbatium and how much is ad lib?

Absolutely brilliant episode...loved all of it!

Worst Episode Ever!
dang, we just want to see akward office humor.

The show tonight was hilarious. We are so glad it's back.

Well that was definitely an uncomfortable episode. Do you use any people or situations from your past in any of your characters or episodes?

I know that tonight's episode was started before the strike, but are the other new episodes going to be any better? This whole season has been very disappointing. I loved the first 3 seasons and I miss the old style.

Listen guys, I love the show and I want a job. My portfolio is awsome and I got talent. Give me a shot, Please!

i love this show....i think the script is absolutely amazing along with the actors! and can i be on this show pretty please? i'm funny, i promise and i'm available for filming in the last week of june...so...awesome!

That was terrible. What a waste of 30 minutes. Strike away.

The show tonight was hilarious. We are so glad it's back.

You guys are f'ing nuts. I wanna be on your show!

Why was Micheal ever with Jan?

Was tonight's episode influenced at all by Edward Albee's "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" It reminded me so much of the spirit of the play.

How long is it supposed to have been since we left off? Six months?

We didnt get to see the episode in Eastern Iowa because of a storm and the local NBC station took up the entire time with possible bad weather warnings. And our cable provider is terrible.

Was tonight's episode influenced at all by Edward Albee's "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" It reminded me so much of the spirit of the play.

When are you all going to add Jim's rebellious younger bro? Alright bit winna's. Get em and shock em. Gotta breast them all... gokekong.

Where is "The Office" shot?

The scenes/episodes of the office that are done outdoors should be done with people who think the actors are legitimately from an office, collectively going to a party for example. I think of how good the Booze Cruise episode would be if everyone on the boat were random people who just thought Michael was as crazy as he seems.

How many writers were involved writing this episode and how long did it take you?

the way you hid angela's pregnancy is genius! did you ever think about incorperating it into the plot?

So, you did an "Office" version of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolfe?"

Thanks. I laughed a lot. Welcome back.

Hey, I just graduated college and am looking for a career. I would like to know how you guys ended up landing this awesome job and if there is any openings. Please feel free to email me. I hope to chat with you soon.

Remind me again what it is we were waiting all this time for? This show was crap. Earl was crap. 30Rock was crap.

Hopefully Scrubs won't disappoint to!! And to top it all off - our NBC HD channel isn't broadcasting!

Geez. This sucks

Question to Jen Celotta if she's there. As a fellow BU grad, I was wondering if the $80,000 in education helped her at all in becoming the success she is today. And then, of course, is she hiring.

What made you decide to change Mindy Kaling's character so dramatically in the first few episodes of the show? How did that develop?

Great episode, Glad too see it back.

Was the car in the garage in tonight's episode a 2004 Mountain Shadow Gray Thunderbird?

How is "The Office" so awesome? Why can't I stop dreaming about Jim?

great episode.

that was awful. what happened to the office. i'm not sure i care anymore.

Does Melora make you Hardin?

MAKE THAT SONG AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD.

"YOU TAKE ME BY THE HAND..."

Why do you guys write Creed so creepy? The guy gives me the he-be jebbies

I just wanted to say, I loved the dualism in today's episode between both Pam and Jan and Michael and Jan

Why do you guys write Creed so creepy? The guy gives me the he-be jebbies

Great episode guys! It really had me on the border between laughing hysterically and totally uncomforatble. So... will Jan and Michael break up? I hope not, at least not yet... I see a great reunion episode.....

Please tell me that Dwight and Angela get back together, he just isn't the same powerful figure without her

Out-friggin-standing!!!!!!!

funniest show ever. you guys rock. thanks for the laughs!

during the strike, did you feel more inspired to find topics for the shows from everyday life?

what inspires you all to write such ridiculously hilarious comedy? where do you find the amazing and funny ideas? also, how much is improvise and how much is scripted?

When you write the episodes, where do you get your inspiration?

Hi Mr. Daniels! Nice return this week. I've been waiting so long for the show to return. It's the only thing I watch on TV. I wish you continued laughter and success!

Who sings the song heard in this episode from the cd "The Hunter"? I want to download it.

This episode tonight was extremely dissapointing. After such a long lull in episodes, do you think the writers aren't warmed up yet and just put out a crappy episode out tonight for contracts sake? Tonight was the worst episode in history.

Are the same writers involved with the spin off show? I'm looking forward to it if that is the case. You all are amazing writers...and the actors deliver your lines perfectly.

We were so impressed with this episode, that you can't comprehend it...absolutely brilliant!

what inspires you all to write such ridiculously hilarious comedy? where do you find the amazing and funny ideas? also, how much is improvise and how much is scripted?

Have you ever thought of creating a running theme aka a bowling league...book club...something that is run through a season? i think Michael would be hilarious bowling.

I just want to say how proud I am of Michael. I hope he continues in that direction. Thanks for the great episode!

How does one apply to be a writer's assistant for The Office? I'm dying to learn from the best in the business.

What the hell? I expected an awesome return and all I got was a crappy unfunny episode. Has the writer's strike killed what made the Office good? Me thinks so!

will mindy be my real life best friend?

Any chance of some location shots actually shot in Scranton?

I think there have been too many moments the last two seasons that have been painful to watch with Michael being so humiliated. I think sometimes the scripts are too mean to him and I have to change the channel.

Hi I'm an actor and attending college next year. Can I send you my headshot and resume and study with you guys this summer? Thank you.

Lee! You rock - it was hilarious. Well done :-)

GREAT episode! Thank you so much for everything.

Was Michael's phone call in the beginning intended to be a dig at the strike? Cause it sure seemed like it and it was genius...

Thanks again, great job evreyone.

OMG Jim got a new car! It's a saab!

Another excellent episode, of course. I was just wondering how many episodes were going to actually be in this season, considering the break and all.

how did you cast dwight's date?!

Why is Jan so crazy?!

Are Michael's remarks like "Bon...Bond...James Bond...James Bond Fire" scripted, or mostly improvised?

Has there ever been an actor or actress you really wanted to have on the show as a cameo or small role, or vice versa, maybe a celebrity has approached you?

First of all, you are all BRILLIANT! "The Office" is my favorite TV show of all time, and I'm SOOO happy it's back tonight.

My question is why are episodes sometimes aired in a different order than that in which they are shot?

Also, when may I schedule a private tour of the set and meeting with the few cast members I haven't already met? One of my life's goals will then be complete. :)

A friend of mine's sister just filmed an episode with you guys (let's just say the one where Andy wears some interesting pants). Can't wait to see that, too!

Seriously, thank you for ALL your great work!

Who decides how long an episode lasts? My favs, of course are the hour-long ones! Can you give us more of those? Please?

does anyone know what brand the bottle of wine pam hands to jan at their couples dinner is?

Dear writers of the Office:
Why do my parents hate me so much to live in a state such as Iowa where we get tornadoes during The Office? Why do meteorologists think they need to broadcast during The Office? I say if you can't tell the weather is severe when you go outside then may God have mercy on you. Darwin called it natural selection and I see no reason for the weather people to interfere with it!

Are we ever going to find out why Michael hates Toby so much?

When will Jim and Pam end? will Karen ever return???

What advice you would give to aspiring TV writers? And do's and dont's?

will jim do more funny pranks on dwight?

Good evening! What are you planning to do with Angela's (Angela Kinsey) obvious pregnancy? Are you just going to hide it and/or work around it or are you going to incorporate it into the plot of the show?

I am sure you are asked this alot but how long of future does the Office exactly have. I think 6 or 7 season shouldnt run the well dry but how long do you see it going? I love the show and keep up the great work.

What advice do you have for an aspiring TV writer looking to land a Writing Assistant position on a TV show?

Are you going to be the writters for the Office Spin Off?

Is there anything you can tell us about future episode?

i've never been so addicted to something in my life, which is of course this show. i love everyone on it, you guys are amazing. im so excited for nine oclock tonight!

Are any of the characters based on real people?

The office dvd's have the best extras and most extra footage I've seen. I'm wondering what the reason for so much extra footage is?
and can I look forward to the same amount of extra footage this year?

How many more seasons do you guys expect to do?

I'm attending film school at UCLA, is there a way for me to get an internship on The Office set?

When will we see the next Dundies Award Ceremony that is supposedly annual? Anyways, love you guys. One day, Dwight will rule the world!

What were the writer's reactions to the news of a spin-off?

What is Dwight Schrute's favorite food? Beverage? Brand of sock?

How Does It Feel To Work On The Greatest Show Ever Created In The Universe? You Guys Deserve A Dundie!

Would you consider doing a promotion where viewers can submit either a script or a plotline idea for an episode and the winner would get a cameo on the show?

did you ever think of adding in a character, like an intern or something that appears for just some time?

The beauty of the show is that it does not insult the viewers' intelligence...the writing proves that yes, smart and funny are not mutually exclusive...

Are any of the scenes/plots based on things that have really happened to you? If so, can you share?
PS-Will you please consider doing an episode where there's a snowstorm and the characters are snowed in the office overnight??? It would be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys! Thanks so much for doing this!

I just have one question, and that is: when (and where) do you guys come up with ideas for the show? I just have this mental image of all the Office's writers sitting around a table at Chili's with a yellow legal pad :))

Someone recently told me that with incident's similar to the one you all took time and effort off of work to support, popular shows such as this one, "The Office," might not be the same after. The humor might be lacking there after, or the show just takes a turn for the worse.

Would you say this is possible and how to expect the show to fair from here forward?

Only time can tell, but I truly hope it's a million times better! *if that is even possible* Love your work.

If you could trade places with any character from the office who would it be and why?

Two words:

Thank you.

I read on Wikipedia at the begining of the season that Steven Spielberg would be directing an episode in promotion for Indiana Jones. Is that still true or not so because of the strike. Also any other big name directors lined up for the rest of the season and beyond,

Did you spend any time together during the strike in a non-Office related context.

Why Thursday at 8? That is when LOST is on. I can't watch both at the same time.

Greg, will you please give permission and/or encourage the cast, writers and directors to speak more freely when they do commentaries for the DVD? Like how BJ and Mindy gave background info during Safety Training commentary, that was so much more fun and interesting than hearing people say over and over, “I love this scene” or “that actor is so talented.” Not asking for info on future plots, just more detail on how an already aired episode got made. Thanks, I love love love you and the show

How did you have to change the story line to fit the giant time gap? Is it April on the show also? If it is, what happened in the months that were skipped over?

Why would anyone want to get rid of any of the characters from the Office? The show works so well with the current cast!

Did you guys spend time together during the strike in a non-office context?

Was there anything that you guys wanted to have in the show (ie events/story lines), but because of the strike had to take out? If so, what was changed and what got cut?

there were obviously shows we aren't going to see becuase of teh shortened season. can you tell us some of the ideas for those lost episodes?

How did it feel to finally get back in action?

Excited for tonight's show!

As a collective whole writing staff, how do you go about creating these characters of Dunder Mifflin? Any inspirations? Are any of them based on real people?

I'm so happy The Office is back on. Are you afraid the planned might be detrimential to the existing show?

Finally! Finally! Finally! I feel like I've waited so long for this.

Do you ever get tired of people telling you how awesome you are?

This show is AWESOME, which you already know. I'm so glad the writers are back. Are we going to miss out on anything this season due to the strike? Also, I've never seen the British version because I don't want to spoil it for myself. I know a lot of the first episodes are the same plot, how far did that go? Is everything in the current season original and American?

The actors and writers have obviously proven how tremendously talented they are. Has any other cast members, other than Paul, Mindy, BJ, and Steve, shown any interest in one day writing for the show?

I love the Office!!! I am really looking forward to the upcoming episodes on tv. I find the show oddly hilariouse and when i watch it with my best fried it is ten times FUNNIER!!!

Woo Hoo April 10th!!!

Since this season was cut short, were the original ideas for this season completely changed or is it just going to extend into the next season?

As everyone knows, this wonderful show will be going into its fifth season in the fall which is a relatively long time in TV land. Are you ever worried about running out of ideas or stories?

1. Do you writers get the perks and glamour of fame?

2. Will there be any guest appearances by writers coming up (More Gene & Lee!)?

I'm so fascinated with you writers!

Will there be a jump forward in time in the second episode back?

Who plays the oft-seen warehouse workers Phillip and Lester? (THe Office Convention Q&A identified Lester as "Calvin" but gave no last name) They are never credited despite their numerous appearances on the show.

Are there any plans to bring back David Denman? Part of me actually misses Roy's character. He sure did spice things up, and Pam and Jim need some turbulence here eventually.

Will the season finale be a hour long like last season or super sized like season 2? And when does it air?

I am an overenthusiastic fan of The Office. My parents just went to Scranton, PA, because my mum has family there. And she (also a devoted fan) said that a lot of people didn't even know about the show. How do you feel about this? I feel a little hurt.

I am a huge huge fan of your show. I just wanted to ask how you guys feel about spoilers for a TV show? does anger you guys that plot lines are being leaked out? Or do you more less shrug it off?

I think one of the most interesting things about the show is that it's a sitcom that lets its characters evolve. Are we going to see more about Jim's increasing ambivalence about his job?

So i stopped paying cable, because of the strike, lol..now i'll get in back..but not in time for the tonight's episode. anyway...

i want to know if or when we will ever meet michael's parents?? there has never really been a reference to his parents (except for the temp sneaking into machael's moms like basement or something) and i know there has got to be some thought into who should be his parents..but i think that would be awesome.

Do you guys have a long term plan for the show - in terms of where the characters will end up in the next few years? Or do you just "wing" it?

I read something about Ed Helms possibly starring in the spin-off. Please tell me that isn't true! The Office wouldn't be the same without Andy!

Thank you so much for chatting with us! I actually am curious about a Season 2 episode - The Carpet. Whose ideas was it to have Pam leave all those messages for Jim all day, so he would discover them at the end of the day? That scene is my all-time favorite, because something similar happened to me with one of my former co-workers. Thank you for making Jim and Pam and really all of the characters so realistic and for bringing depth and humor to mundate situations. What a joy to have the show back!

Many Office viewers are worried that the upcoming spin-off and high demand of regular episodes will take away from the current series and result in a show of lesser quality. Do you have any words of reassurance for us diehard fans?

Does the UK version of The Office still play a role in setting some of the themes and drama for the American version. Is there any hope for seeing the 'silent mic' (uber effective; fittingly romantic), possibly between two members of the opposite sex, before its all over?

Do you have anything written for this season/planned for next season that will seriously depress some long-time Office fans? (namely me :) ) Because I like laugh and smile and cry(out of happiness, not sadness,) when watching my favorite show! Not feel all depressed...

Who is the "Toby" of the writer's room?

How do you feel about the one-hour episodes from the beginning of this season? Is there anything that you would like to improve for next season's early-season one hour episodes, or is there anything new you'd like to try with them?

What are your plans for the summer? Cool vacation plans? Are you guys even going to get any vacation time with the thirty episode order for next season?

Who is the "Toby" of the writer's room?

How do you choose which bloopers to include on the DVDs? That seems like it would be the best job...and based on descriptions of your set you must have hours of footage to choose from! I'm hoping for an extra-long blooper reel after this season since we lost so many episodes. Please and thank you!

Is a series regular really leaving Dunder Mifflin at the end of the season? Does that have anything to do with the spin-off?

First of all, welcome back! Will Stephen Merchant direct an episode in season 5? I know he was supposed to direct one this season.

What will happen between Michael and Jan post-"The Deposition"? If they do break up, what will you do with Jan to keep her part of the show?

I think a lot of people are feeling that season 4 has a different feel than previous seasons. One reason is that many of the shows have been shot outside the confines of the office. Was this an intentional deviation from previous episodes, or did you just have a lot of great "outside" story ideas which ended up being aired at the beginning of the season?

With this being a shorter season, will you add more extras on the Season 4 DVDs? Maybe a whole DVD of bloopers?

Was Jim and Pam’s kiss in Money originally in the script? I know the stairwell scene between Dwight and Jim differed from the script in that it became a much more powerful scene than originally intended. Was the kiss added in as a result of the changes in the stairwell scene? What about the follow-up talking heads where Jim says he’s “in love with Italian food.” Was that originally in the script or a result of the changed scene?

Hi, Greg! I hope that y'all are doing well. My question is if we'll ever see more of the writers as character such as Jen as a Schrute or a Halpert or Brent as a corporate drone? :) I love seeing the writers make cameos.

Do the writers play an active role in the filming of their episode? In other words, do you convey to the actors how you envisioned the delivery of the lines, or do you mainly leave it up to them and the director?

The writers have done a great job taking us outside the office in some amazing story lines. It makes me long for episodes set in the office, and especially the conference room. Any truly "office" episodes on the way?

Are we ever going to get more backstory on Angela? I'm betting she has sixties free love parents, grew up in a commune and her real name is Angeldust Diablo Berkely...

What strategies do the writer's use to keep Jim and Pam's storyline realistic and free of sitcome cliche?

Would you ever consider having a Dunder Mifflin company picnic with all the branches?

Also, where do some of the writers get their inspiration for episode ideas?

Thank you for making the Office such a fantastic show!

What is the biggest challenge when writing Jim and Pam's storyline?

I always thought that a good episode would be people trading positions with someone else for the day. any chance of seeing that some time?

will we ever meet jim or pams parents?(I know we saw pam's mom briefly before) I think you could make a great episode out of Jim meeting pams parents or the other way around. I bet Jim's parents must have a good sense of humor.

Will the next episodes be making a time jump to current time since tonight's episode is supposed to be right where we left off? Why or why not?

And what DID you guys do during the writer's strike besides picket and for Jen, apparently become a hooker...???

I know that you can't tell us a lot about where the Jim and Pam storyline is going, but there have been quasi-spoilers floating around that indicate something big is going to happen. I know that you can't reveal anything about what WILL happen, but can you possibly tell us what is NOT going to happen with JAM?

The office really is very similar to the way offices are.

I understand a character will leave Dunder Mifflin in the season finale. Is it possible that a character might leave Dunder Mifflin, but remain on The Office? Dwight did it for part of an episode, after all. Or are we saying farewell to a cast regular?

I just read in today's USA Today that Jenna Fischer says someone is leaving "Dunder-Mifflin" and that "It's kind of a shocker." Does that mean this person is leaving the show or are they leaving the company as part of the storyline? Can you give us any hints as to who it is that's leaving?

why did you all decide to pick up right where we left off with The Deposition? Every other break thus far in the show has been dealt with as if the time off the air had actually passed in all of our favorite characters lives.

How could a kid like me (a film/communications student at American) become an intern or worker on The Office?

Did you miss me? I sure missed you guys.

How different was the planned plot arc before the strike compared to what you guys are doing now?

where is the set of the office located?

Was there a specific television show or film that inspired you to want to become a writer?

Most of the members of the cast have sung at one point in the series. Any chance we'll get to see more hilarious karaoke moments in the future?

This may be a little off topic, but I figured it would be best to talk to someone who has already made it. I'm a young writer trying to get my bearings. What would you guys suggest my best path would be getting into the industry?

Will there be open auditions for the Office spin-off? And if so, when and where? The future show sounds exciting! Good luck!

I realy like this show its so funny i think Dwight is the funneist lol keep up the good work

Is there any chance that Dwight and Angela will be getting back together this season? I think he's been punished enough...They are meant to be together. She and Andy just don't "fit".

It's been way too long since there was a new episode. I'm afraid the extended hiatus killed A LOT of the goodwill and momentum the show had built up. Hopefully the very few episodes that we actually will get to see this year can help to regain some of that. I have a bad feeling, though, that more so than any other show on television, the strike could have killed The Office. Sucks but I'll wish you good luck anyway.

Any chance we will see Michael serving jury duty?

Glad you're back!

Welcome Back,

Wondering what effect the strike will have on the Season IV DVD? Will it have all the goodies of past? Also, missing your Xmas episode.

I'm a big fan of Rashida Jones, will she be coming back for another episode or is there not enough time for her to come back on this season?

Several cast members have commented in interviews how much they loved the Dinner Party script when they first read it. Were you able to keep it pretty much intact or did you have to do a lot of revising because of the truncated season?

we missed 3 months of our favorite shows becausse of you people thats alot to miss and i hope you will make up for it before the reruns in may.

Nathan Robinson was a high school student in Newton, MA who recently died of complications from the flu. (He was a friend of my daughter.) The Office was his favorite show. John Krasinski and BJ Novak both went to high school in Newton. Thanks to the Office and NBC for airing this memorial.

During the strike, did you still come up with ideas for episodes?

Michael Schur, I found car keys in a school cafeteria. There is a small flashlight connected to the chain. I believe it belongs to you.

Also, if Creed is actually "82" years old, then that means his entire childhood took place during the Great Depression. One word: Hooverville.

Is Toby's affection for the arts sincere, or is it just another ploy to spend time with Pam.

Several fan sites are filling up with comments, mostly negative, about the recently announced Office spinoff. What's your take on this? Can you continue to write quality Office episodes and devote energy to another side endeavor?

I think the writing for Jim's character has been really great this season. Is it fun to write his stuff--the straight man who also has the devious side (in order to stay sane)?

What are your favorite episodes, scenes, lines, etc.? Is it hard to complete the writing with so many different writiers?

First off I want to say that you guys are amazing. The Office is one of the very few shows on tv right now that is worth watching, and the writing is a huge part of it. Where do you get your ideas, do any of the ridiculous office adventures come from your real life experiences?

Hey office writers I am a huge Office fan, now I know that Rashida Jones will be coming back for an episode or so,but what about David Denman (Roy Anderson)? Will we be seeing him again, maybe even soon?

Why is Jim so not funny? He never does any pranks or what not. Please make him do more jokes. Plus make an episode where Dwight is obsessed with the Legend Of Zelda.

Are we going to get a full season of the Office?

I love it whenever "the office" mentions Harry Potter, like when Dwight read from Deathly Hallows for his guests' bedtime story! Who is the awesome HP fan among the writers?

What advice do you have for aspiring comedic writers?

And if there are webisodes this summer, who will they focus on?

Hey. Thanks so much for such a funny show. You’re literally the only TV show I watch. Seasons 1 through 3 were so hilarious. I find Season 4 a lot less funny though, mainly because Jim is so bland. He just drags his feet around, looking at the carpet all the time. No pranks, no funny joke… He’s lame (which I am sorry to say because Jim is my favorite character in previous seasons). Is there a good reason for this? Is it a written plot, as in Jim trying to figure out his place with his new position and toying with the concept of being more similar to Michael than he would like? Or is something else going on? Will we see hilarious Jim again? Thanks again and all the best for the show.

Have you and the writers ever thought about making a "The Office" movie? And maybe try to get it on the big screen.

I just recently got into this show so im still trying to catch up on everything. I would love to see another hostage situation like with the pizza kid. I thought it was beyond hilarious! Maybe have kelly go crazy and hold ryan against his will!

So great to have you guys back! Please describe a typical day in the writers' room (if there is such a thing). Also, in your minds, how many more seasons do you see in The Office's future?

First off, I adore every last stinkin' one of you guys! You are all brilliant and I thank you for giving my the gift of laughter every Thrusday evening. I also have two questions, 1. Will there be a convention this year? 2. Will there be more episodes that centralize within the office? I'll be frank, I miss the days where they only had storyplots that were within the office. Is there a chance that will happen soon? Again, you guys are the real heroes!

Are we going to find out why Scrantonisity broke up?

Did you guys actually enjoy the strike? Be honest, I can spot liars like a cougar.

1. has working on the office been different since you came back after the strike?
2. how often do you (the writers) get recognized in public?
3. how are you going to keep the jim/pam relationship interesting now that the will they/won't they thing is over?

What are you planning to do about Angela being pregnant?

Were there any shenanigans/tomfoolery that happened to the characters while the cameras weren't around that will be explained in upcoming episodes?

Oher NBC shows like ER and Will & Grace have done live episodes. Would you ever consider doing a live Office episode?

Can you please include the Schrute Beet Farm in a future episode where their bumper crop is sold for beet juice that they use these days to de-ice highways in the winter. This would connect reality to Dwight's world :)

Michael and Jan are often (albeit hysterically) written as wacky and completely mismatched for one another. Yet every once in awhile, like at the end of the episode MONEY, they really seem to have a connection. Why did you choose to include that scene at the end of MONEY, with an episode like THE DEPOSITION following it? Can we expect more of Michael and Jan going forward?

Will the DMI cyber branches be worked into story lines?

As an aspiring writer, I’ve noticed that my favorite episodes from your show were critical moments involving the seasonal arc. (The Return, Booze Cruise, & Michael Schur’s The Secret) So, when writing a ‘spec,’ should the script stay detached from the show’s arc or can certain elements remain in the story? Additionally, are there any unwritten “do’s & don’ts” for this process that you all have learned through various experiences?

In the name of "keeping it real", is there ever going to be a fight between Jim and Pam?

As a result of the long, long hiatus, the fans have dearly missed the show, and the Dinner Party may be the very most anticipated Office episode ever! Did you feel any pressure because of that?

Assuming some of you read fan comments after an episode airs, are you surprised when scenes or storylines get criticized by many fans - or do you expect it?

Hey guys,
great to have you back so we can get back to watching stuff that is superb to the game shows we have been subjected to. My question is when will we see a Ryan and Kelly reunion? Forget JAM, R/K is where it is at!

I’ve read the other comments and I have to comment on those comments. Pls don’t lose the documentary feel of the show. That’s so important to what makes it work. The whole idea of how Michael (especially) plays to the camera is what makes it so funny and so interesting (because we see people do that type of thing all the time). It’s ludicrous that someone is complaining that some of the shots are unrealistic because an actual documentary wouldn’t be able to shoot private moments. (Wow. It’s a show. Just enjoy the darn thing.) If someone is distracted by a character’s pregnant stomach, I think they’re paying attention to the wrong thing. And, I’m appalled at how many people seem to be anticipating a “jumping the shark” moment. Just please keep up the great work. I’ve worked in an office my entire life (unfortunately) and you guys are dead on. Such great stuff. Thanks for the fantastic entertainment.

The writers do such an amazing job of balancing the real moments (like the Pam and Jim relationship which continues to be wonderful to watch play out) and bleak moments with wonderful, crazy over the top hilarity.

How did you get to be so awesome?

how do you plan to deal with angela kinsey's pregnancy for these last post-strike episodes? i heard that it was just going to be ignored and hidden. if so...please do a good job of it and make it believable! i dont want to be looking at angela from accounting and not be able to stop thinking that she is actually pregnant in real life...its too distracting.

my only complaint about the office is that it is supposed to be filmed by a documentary crew...but sometimes the camera angles aren't believable, like when characters are in a car or when really private moments get captured on camera. which everyone wants to see...sure. but can you try and make it more plausible?

You have no idea how glad I am that you’re back!!! I love the show because it’s so real! Thanks for returning! (Thursday nights have sucked these last few months.)

Just an oddball question, but do you see Kevin ever getting married to Stacy? If you ever do another Dundies episode, he could get ‘World’s Longest Engagement’…

Have there ever been any feuds between writers? According to a Q&A w/ Michael Schur him and Mindy Kaling get into spats every so often ;) http://www.officetally.com/qa-with-michael-schur-part-2

Were you writing on your own for the show during the strike in order to have ideas to discuss when you returned?

Instead of deleted scenes (which I do love), would you ever consider putting directors' cuts on the DVDs? I know that sometimes you have longer epidsodes with which to work. I don't know how much the different lengths would matter (other than possible ego issues). It would be great to see the episodes in their entirety as envisioned by the writers. Thanks!

How many times do you "pass around" a script between yourselves for rewriting to ensure its funniness? Or does it depend? What episode that has aired has been closest to the 1st draft?

I know that this is a somewhat (okay, I’ll admit it, IMMENSELY) crazy idea just because it would go completely the opposite direction of what The Office is and why it just works so well as it is right now BUT have you or any of the writers ever toyed with the idea of having the documentary crew finish with filming and return to LA/NY (or wherever they’re from) and actually start the process of making the documentary but still continue with the show just without cameras following them around? Film it just like a “regular” show would. I would think that it would give the writers freedom to begin storylines that wouldn’t have been able to happen with the documentary cameras there. Or do you think that it’s the most stupid idea in the entire world because then it would lose the ‘magic’ that made The Office so special than other shows out there? Like I said, CRAZY idea but I had to put it out there. Because how many more chances are of EP Craig Daniels and the writers of The Office getting together to do a blog?

After the strike, did all of the cast and crew return for the season?

Okay, some people might burn my family's house down for saying this (I know, bad way to start a sentence, right?), but I'm sort of bummed that Jim and Pam got together. It was great at first, but after a while it was like "Now what?". I'm not asking for another Ross and Rachel (ANYTHING but that), but how do you plan on keeping people interested in PB&J? (I love that name, by the way.)

I have confidence that if anybody can pull it off, it's you guys!

Hi, remember me?
I wanted to tell you that, overall, I've loved Season 4. "The Deposition" was PHENOMENAL. But why did you guys have Michael drive his car into the lake in "Dunder Mifflin Infinity"? I'll be frank...I hated that. So unbelievable, even for Michael. I swear, I was afraid you guys had jumped the shark. Thankfully, the rest of the season was much better.

(I'm ready for you to yell at me now)

here is a brain-buster;

Why does Jim own Call of Duty if he doesn't know how to play it?

Will there be another Dundies or Basketball(but with another sport like Soccer or something) or something similar in the future?

How do you communicate within the writing staff? Do you almost always agree on everything or is it always compromising? and who has the last word?

I heard several of you say that Dinner Party was the funniest table read ever. That was pre-strike. Was it still that hilarious to come back to after all that time, or had some of the novelty worn off?

Your casting and writing is phenomenal-I love that you haven't written for the lowest common denominator and that you hired real, talented actors instead of "Barbie dolls" (not that they aren't attractive. Do you receive input/suggestions from Ricky Gervais at this point in your series?

Will there be an Office convention this year?

what was the meaning of the "is the magic gone" statement earlier this season? was that commenting on the Jim/Pam dynamic??

Will anything good ever happen to Toby?

I have envisioned myself playing the role of Ryan's new gf. And him bringing the new gf to a party or get-together of some sort and having a confrontation with Kelly, either subtly and/or not so subtly. With the outcome of the situation absolutely hilarious for the viewers.

How could we make this happen? I look the part and I have acting experience - I would love to audition for the role, no pay would be necessary.

Thank you

Any plans on showing the characters the documentary soon? It's been shooting for four years now, wouldn't they have seen some of it by now? I think a good idea would be for it to be shown in the penultimate season's finale, and then in the final season show how it changed all of their lives by putting them in the public eye and their true feelings for each other being shown.

Am i wrong for wanting more Andy acapella and banjo? Will we ever get to see Andy's talents on display again?

Will we ever get to see Ping again?

We all know that the actors from the show get noticed. But have you as writers ever gotten noticed on the street (or sidewalk .. if that's how you roll)?

Is the show's "glamour" (prettier colors, more action, less looks at the camera) interfering with the faux-doc format? And if The Office ever "jumps the shark" how do you think that could happen?

We all know that the actors from the show get noticed. But have you as writers ever gotten noticed on the street (or sidewalk .. if that's how you roll)?

Will there ever be another Dundies or another Christmas Party, or even another Performance Review--keeping with the repetitive nature of an office job? Would it ever work?

how do you balance writing jokes that are broad enough that everyone can get them, but suddle enough that it fits the tone of the show?

I know people love JAM, but one of my faves right now(it changes all the time) is Kelly. (Mindy Kaling's a genius!) Are her and Ryan completely, 100% over? I saw some jealousy from him after the Kelly/Darryl kiss in Dunder Mifflin Infinity. I think it would be a cute thing if he tried to get her back or something- I always thought deep down he had feelings for her.

I really enjoy the idea of Jim being Dwight's superior, but I thought Dwight's short stint as regional manager was hysterical. I was really hoping that Michael had jumped the gun and filed the paperwork, and that after "The Job", Dwight and him had each others jobs for a week or so until everything could be undone. so my question is, will we ever get to see Dwight with more power?

What would you consider to be the best part of your job?

Do you have a favorite character on the show?

I was bummed there wasn't a Christmas episode this season - it's always one of my favorites. Any chance of seeing one for Season 4, perhaps in bonus materials on the DVD?

Do you feel like you were still able to accomplish creatively what you had wanted for this season, even though it ended up with fewer shows than originally planned?

Did you go on any fun adventures during the strike?

how many episodes are going to be on this season? when will the season 4 dvd be released for sale?

Is there going to be enough episodes this season to pull off a "OMG what's going to happen next season?!?!?" kind of finale?
Or would you have rather there been more episodes?

How did it feel when you guys went back to work? Who was the happiest?
