I think it would be really interesting if we could see a bit of what goes on in the other characters' personal lives. Maybe some ridiculous drama they are going through with their spouse, life partner or bf/gf, but keep out of the office.

How does an amateur actor get onto a show like the Office? I had never heard of John Krasinski before the Office, and now he is famous for his role as Jim. How do you choose minor actors on the show?

Episode was NOT funny. Glad to see Jim and Pam issue resolved. Please make it funny again..

Tonight you brought back two characters from previous seasons and Mindy has said that she's working on an episode that brings back a character from the past...How many familiar faces will we see this season?

Tonight's episode was excellent. Thank you ever so much for not dragging Pam and Jim on for season after season of "will they, won't they". Everytime I watch this show it makes me wish that my office were just a touch more interesting and that my bosses were a tad less professional.

CONGRATS ON YOUR EMMY! HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE A RECIPIENT? AND WHAT DID YOU DO WITH IT?

so how about it... any more scenes with exposure below the shirt tail???

I'm curious whether or not you guys have a master plan for the show. What I mean is, when the show has run it's course, do you have a foreseeable closure for the characters in mind - or are you writing with blinders, not knowing when the show will end? Was that a run on sentence?

HEY GUYS! LOVE YOUR WORK... What's to come of Jim and Pam's relationship? any info you can tell us :)

If you want to introduce some extra drama into Pam and Jim, you might want to add her desire for a career in drawing compared to his feeling that he wants her to just settle down and have her being just a wife. Or bring back Rashida Jones, for more interest.

I look forward to your future creativity and appreciate what you have done so far. Congratulatiions on such brilliant, brilliant episodes.

I have been a HUGE fan of the office, but this episode was bad! I looked forward to it since last season. I guess the first couple of seasons were just the 'money beets'...

I loved the season premiere! It was well worth the wait! The girly, romantic part of me loved seeing Jim and Pam FINALLY kiss and hold hands, and the sick, twisted sense of humor part of me loved hearing that Dwight killed Sprinkles by putting him/her in the freezer. Well done, Greg, well done.

QUESTION: does THE OFFICE ever plan on getting funny again? because for Season 3 and 1st episode of Season 4, it has been absolutely positively not funny........

people are "hating" because this show has been brilliant in that it stood out from the usual droll sitcom..now regrettably it seems to want to lead the pack..need a laugh track and some guest spots from ellen degeneres and you're there!

Have fun at the West Coast Premiere party. I wonder if Steve Carrell will be dancing to "A Night at the Roxbury"?

THE OFFICE hasn't been funny since "Casino Night".......

Do you think you'll be hearing from PETA after this episode?

I think you may have lost sight that Michael's behavior has to to be seen through the eyes of the characters who are identifiable with the audience as normal people. If you just have characters doing weird and unusual things without any reference to the characters who are not weird then you run the risk of just having a bunch of weird characters doing weird things.

Great season opener! The first time I saw this show two years ago I thought, "How Strange". Now two years later I am totally a big fan!!! Thanks for the great episode!!! Keep it up!!!

myself and 5 of my friends came in contact with rabies. i love finding humor in the obscure great show!!!

I have been a fan since day 1. here is the simple reality......THE OFFICE has ceased to be funny. severely disappointed. please explain any part of tonight's episode that was funny? (and "no" andy's bleeding nipples weren't funny... please.....because I want it get funny again

Excellent writing & cast.
Are you going to bring on more cast memebers this season. More people of COLOR...THANK YOU!

PEACE & BLESSINGS!

Pace and writing very slow.
Poor start.

Just wanted to let you know the premier of The Office was hilarious! I laughed so hard it brought tears to my eyes. I feel like I have worked with these characters at one point or another. Keep up the good work!!!

Not impressed.

So glad the Office is back! Can't wait to get my "Support the Rabid" bracelet!

Where are the show folk?

This is by far the best show ever but i think you should include stanly more b/c hes the man

Do the residents of Scranton (in the show) watch the show?
If so, when do the characters start to become recognized as local celebrities?

Go show and writing. I am a screenwriter in Chicago. Any tips or advice.

you can tell how popular the show is becoming based on how many haters have started showing up on these live blogs....pathetic

loved the show, especially the part about sprinkles and the french fries

Not very pleased at all. CSI was awesome though.

the show tonight was brilliant, love the part about sprinkles and the french fries

so yeah...i guess people agree..this episode wasn't even close to good.

Wheres the good episodes like casino night for example.

when will this show become funny again?

love the show - here's a true story from my office today. I walked into one of my departments at work to get a serial number off a printer. By the office next to the printer stood our security officer, Dick. As I walked towards him I sneezed really loudly and someone else shouted out 'you ok?' - to which I quickly (and without thinking) responded, 'I'm fine - just allergic to Dick' - I got that serial number and hurried back to my cube! :) Keep up the good work!

while i do love this show and found the episode pretty funny...could you please do more of the subtle humor of season 2 and some episodes of season 3? I don't mind out of office ones as long as they don't become routine.

This episode was drek. I was preparing for this all summer. Way to let me down NBC...

I think you jumped the shark. Very dissappointing. I was hoping for much more and you provided much less.

I adore the office, but I feel REALLY left out of the JAM actual love connection!

We didn't get to see Jim end his relationship with his old girlfriend and start his new one. This mismatched romance was a highlight of the show and the anticipation was never satisfied. I feel as if the writer copped out on this peak of the show, and just made the transition. What do you say about that??

I really didn't like that episode. This wasn't The Office I'm used to, this was just horrible.

Loved Jim and Pam though.

Kevin's obsession with pam & Jim was amazing

Is there going to be any new charaters this season

I LOVE your show! I have a great idea for a spin-off...

Tried to post once..wouldn't let me..trying again.

I was disappointed in the cat being killed by Dwight storyline.

I am a huge fan of the Office, but I found it just plain stupid.

Norm

Congrats on your Emmy! Does Dwight have Asperger's Syndrome, a higher functioning form of autism? I have it and recognize the symptoms (my 2 sons have it too). Just wrote an OFFICE script for NBC Diversity Dept. How do I submit to you? Thanks

this is the first time i have seen this show and just to let you know the last time. it does take lame sophomoric humor to new heights tho sl

What a terrible episode.

I understand that you are good friends with Conan O'Brien. Is he anything in person like he is on his show, or are they completely different personalities?

I love this show ! ahhhh amazing!!!!!!

Will we see Pam and Jim finally date...tonight's episode made me think so..but you guys are crazy.

Thank you for having Pam and Jim get together! That is so awesome!!!

We love the office! Cure Rabies!

The Office has jumped the shark....I love The Office, but that episode sucked!

Sitcoms should NEVER be an hour long.

Hey, I love the show, im a BIG Huge,!! fan. Hey. does philius really have rabies?! haha

there are 20 people watching the office in a dorm room on a 25" tv. It's great.

Mr. Daniels,

I hope tonight's episode does not signal a departure from the subtle humor that's vaulted The Office to the forefront of prime-time comedy.

Tonight's episode, perhaps befitting an overhyped premier, was short on wit and long on slapstick bombast. Say it isn't so for the rest of season 4??!

The premier of The Office was so disappointing. It wasn't that funny and it seemed like everyone was bored with their characters. I am so sad! Has The Office run out of steam?

I second the question "Why does Michael hate Toby so much." Toby needs some good things happening in his life. Anything good in store?? He's had it rough!

What program do you edit The Office on?

Great first episode. Love the fact that Jim and Pam are together.

McCarthy Flowers taxi cab...authentic and genius...what is your source for Scranton references?

Greg, Great show I am a huge fan, thank you for sharing your talent, I know your a busy man, keep doing what you do. Don Austin Forney Texas

Why does Michael hate Toby so much?

So I was almost scared at the beginning of this episode that Jim and Pam weren't together...but then...SIGH! Woo hoo, they are! LOVE IT! Yay for it being back on!! Great Great Job!!

what a disappointment from an
avid fan to see your portrayal of
a nurse!!! We struggle with
image-get real! thsi is the year 2007-highly educated nurses are everyday heroes! Help us out!!!PLEASE!!!!

Congrats on the Emmy wins, and the last two seasons have been absolutely brilliant.

Are you and the writing team planning on doing anything different for this season, especially with the show's popularity at an all-time high and some pretty big changes in character dynamics (ex: Ryan in Corporate, Pam and Jim actually dating, etc.)?

Oh, and I'm loving the premiere and Jam moments so far!

Will The Office introduce any new characters this season?

Do the actors ever ad-lib or take freedoms with the script while filming? I get a sense that they do. Great show! I hope your fan base grows this season!

The episode was great. I think people who use the phrase "jump the shark" should go swim with some sharks. We had to put our cat to sleep two weeks ago, so I hope Angela's wrong about cat heaven.

Is it annoying at times trying to cater to the JAM fans? At times, I remember the toss out of logic on the part them when they called for the ousting of Karen.

what is a possible reason why angela's nickname is 'monkey'?

i laughed so hard tonight....thanks for creating such a funny show.....you are great!

Will there be any new characters this season? I love the hour long episodes!

The Office never disappoints and always hurts my gut, thankyou for this genius show!

Thats awesome that Pam and Jim are finally going out, but will the relationship of 'Dwangela' be on the rocks this whole season??

will jan have to lug around her giant boobs this season?!

what is gonna happen with dwight and angela?

Omg one of the funniest episode ever! I LOVE THAT JIM AND PAM ARE TOGETHER!

"The Office" convention, in Scranton???

what are the chances that dwangela will come out into the open now that jam has... 1 in 100? 1 in....1?

I love how the Pam and Jim relationship is not over the top but just right. Way to keep a great balance. Most shows mess it up.

You guys don't seem to follow any of the conventional television formulas, and it just blows my mind...how you make it all work...and how it's better than anything else on TV but it's like nothing else on TV! How do you do that?! Seriously.

BTW, you guys need to have an episode that takes place in an Art Van furnature store. Just trust me.

Just wanted to pass along congrats on the Emmy win.

L-O-V-I-N-G THIS EPISODE!!! Apologize for the capital letters, but it must be said. It's the brillance of "Gay Witch Hunting" without the Jim-Pam angst. Bravo!!!

Granted, this is only halfway through--and I just saw the JAM moment, which was fantastic. Perfection.

Can't wait to see Act II of the epidsode...

I apologize for the lack of criticism, but there is nothing to criticize...

Did winning an Emmy change your life?

Did your actors protest at having to actually RUN in the season premiere?

Will you be attending the very first "Office" convention in Scranton, PA on Oct. 26-28? If so, can I get an exclusive interview?

Will you please show the characters Jim & Pam on an actual date?

Will we really be able to watch full, free episodes of the office starting tonight or are they old ones? I do not have a tv.

I am not SUPERsticious but I'm a LITTLEsticious.

What did Andy major in at Cornell?

What is your favorite episode so far?

I rarely laugh out loud while watching TV. The Office has me howling!! I work for the Postal Service and I have The Office posters plastered all over. Thanks for the laughs.

love the show.. wish the line wasnt so long when u were in scranton looking for goods for the show. if you guys ever need shirts, stickers or stress balls for or for the crew let me know and i will get them out to you. scranton loves you and so does our office. cant wait for the office event this oct.

Dear Mr. Daniels,

I have a huge crush on your brain. Thought it was John. But, Nope. It's your brain. Thanks for the inspiration.

xoxox (for your delicious brain)

I love The Office. It is my favorite show on TV. Having said that, I agree with what was said about the worry of the show relying on sex to be funny. You have very talented writers on this show and have exhibited that fact with 3 great seasons of comedy. It’s just that a couple episodes of season 3 took the sexual jokes a bit too far. You don’t need to be nasty/raunchy to be funny.

Congratulations to Greg Daniels on the Emmy Win. Wondering what is the most important storyline to carry over into this new season?

Things to consider for the newest episodes:

Kevin starts dating a midget and Angela is disturbed by the sight of her. She thinks she is the spawn of satan.

Dwight invents a new water filtration unit and tries it on "certain things"

Stanley runs into some buddies during a business field trip and Michael tries to use "slang" to befriend them.

A new warehouse manger takes over and tries to call the shots, with Michael hating this guy even more than Toby.

Would love to be in a episode, I work in an office Mon-Fri, I would fit right in. Love your show, but right now I am watching the REDSOX game.

Your fan,
Kim

I live in Georgia and work in an IT department... could you have a redneck IT guy on the show.. It would be a sweet character

My questions are for Dave. What was one of the most difficult things about editing Fun Run? Also What are some of the challanges editing for "The Office"?

I just want to say that the office is the best show out there. Congrats on your emmy win, i dont have any questions jus keep up the awesome job, and i can't wait to see what happens with Jim an Pam, (lucky pam).

This is one of the greatest shows ever!
Are more hour long episodes on the way? I love them because you guys get to squeeze in so much story in one episode that you can't do in 22 minutes!

Someone suggested Karen got the corporate job and that Ryan is talking (at the end of "the Job") to Karen on the phone about hooking up w/her when he says "I'm excited too". Is this possible? I guess I'll find out tonight.

I would like to see more Madge and Bob Vance. What are the chances they will be in more episodes?

I am completely embarrassed by some of these comments. Please KNOW that not ALL of your fans are retarded.

Will we see or hear more about Creed's personal life this season, or next season? I would like to learn more about his hippy/homeless/dog-eat-dog lifestyle.

I only have time to watch one show during the week ... and it's The Office! Thanks for all the laughs!

would you ever consider having Kanye West on the show after his and Rainn's little Emmy skit together? how about stephen colbert and jon stewart?

Who is the funnest character to write for? Who is the easiest? Are they based on anyone in your own life?

What has been your favorite episode thus far?

I really think john krasinski's facial expressions are SOOOO funny. Whats your favorite? (my fave is when andy punchs the whole in the wall when "jim" calls his cell....)

Mr. Daniels, I love the office but i'm worried about it becoming two things. One, that the office will become self concious. It is becoming popular even among those i know. I felt that the Shrute Buck was a small step in the self concious direction. I'm worried that the characters will become molds of themselves rather than real. And the reality is what, i think, is loved. My second worry is that it will rely on sex to be funny. We all know that anyone will laugh when you talk about sex. I was in junior high when i realized this. The cleverness of jokes go down when sex goes up. I noticed a little of this in season 3, but, I was amazed that season two was almost free of this. It was smart and funny. Even so, i'm grateful for the great writing. I wish i were i part of it.

Since The Office started in England, do you feel you have to remain somewhat true to their characters or do you just work the shows out in your own style?
Love the show!

Will we see more Todd F. Packer this season?

Ok I am so in love w/ your show that… I actually now have a job at a paper company!
I work the front desk-so you can call me Pam! Haha!. Anyway, I just wanted to know how you get your info about how a paper company works? You know…if you ever need some help with specific details, I would be more than happy to help! Also, all the reps over here had a meeting and played Jeopardy. They went crazy over it. The whole time I was thinking of the cast and how funny it would be to see them competing in a game.

Hi Guys,

I ADORE the show, such great writing. A couple of quick questions...
1. How often do you get into tangles with censors, and over what types of issues?
2. Ever think of adding a bit of Canadian content? Love you north of the border.

Thanks!

I'm pumped about season 4 and about Dunder Mifflin Infinity. I'm only a temp right now, but look how that worked out for Ryan. If I don't get hired soon, can I come work in the Scranton Branch?

Hi guys..

The Office is my favorite show by far!

Ever think of breaking the '3rd wall' by having the camera man (for the documentary) be a really hot guy or girl that somehow distracts the employees?

Just a thought!...keep up the great work!

-Stephen

Could you write an episode where the office tries to do an intervention on Meredith. Should be really excellent scenerio.

Was it always the plan for Ryan to eventually become Michael's boss from the start of the series?

Dave: I saw your article and photo in the Editors magazine. I just have one question, Are you single?

My question is for David Rogers: First of all congrats on the Emmy. Do you have any pets and how important are they in your life? Also what's your favorite part about editing on "The Office"?

i heard some rumors that the UK Office cast would make an appearance on the show?

Greg, I am a big fan of you and the show. The one aspect of the show that I don't understand is BJ Novak/Ryan. I realize that he is a writer on the show, but I don't think his character adds much at all. It almost seems like his character's role has increased over a lot of better characters on the show. I guess I'm just not a big fan of the character. Creed, Stanley, and Phillis could all use more story lines over Ryan. He's just not funny. Stick to the writing BJ. Thanks

will Michael hire Jan for the Scranton branch. She would be wasted at home and could cause lots of problems at the office, especially with Ryan as Michael's boss.

I'm starting to write comedy and i've been studying the office. I was wondering if you try to think of something funny or if you follow a formula. I tend to look for patterns in things...for instance if something is funny to me i disect it and try to find what, exactly made it funny. So in writing these jokes do you ever rely on a joke structure of some sort?

I'm just curious to know why you decided to make the character of Oscar Mexican, rather than Cuban. Since that is his nationality.

You know, Mr. Daniels, "Extras" is a really funny show. Are you ever tempted to adapt it for American television?

I'm kidding of course...but seriously, it's amazing.

Hey Greg,

Any chance Steve or other cast members could host the Emmys next year, they did such a great job on the presentation this year.

I really feel that a certain person, who shall not be named, should leave the wearing of costumes to Michael Scott!

Congratulations on your Emmy, I loved your acceptance speech.

Shay

I have noticed that in different episodes, different characters have different cell phones all the time, for example in one episode, ryan had a PDA and in another he had a flip phone. also in an episode, jan has a motorola razr and in another she has a pda...is this on purpose or a mistake?

do you take interns at the office? how would one work on the office set?

Greg, congrats on the Emmy!

If there come a point when any of the actors (most notably John or Steve) get catapulted into major movie status (Oscar nominated, etc) do you forsee them leaving the show before its run is over?

Greg – The morning after any of us catch an episode of The Office, our office lunchroom is overcome with intense laugh attacks. Some of the storylines hit shockingly close to home (I’m talking boob jobs, awkward staff parties, inappropriate upper management, etc). I was wondering how it is that you and your writing staff come up with some of these storylines – is it largely based on personal experiences or is there actual research done into the everyday workings of the 9 to 5 business world ?

Hello, I was wondering if you could explain how Ryan got the job at corporate over the other candidates when he has never made a sale!?

let me just say first and foremost, that I absolutely love the office and can't wait to see what you guys have written for the upcoming year. I'm just wondering, how hard is it to break into writing for television, in terms of experience and everything? It's something I've always been interested in doing, but at the start of college I decided to study a non-writing related subject, would I need to be an english major or communications major to have a chance, regardless of how good or bad of a spec script I've written?

Was Ed Truck actually decapitaed?

Did Pam try an contact Jim after she called off the wedding? How did Jim figure out about the cancelled wedding?

Also your AWSOME! congrats on the emmy win and you rock!

Hello Greg..
I heard rumors that Carol Burnett was supposed to play Michael's Mom on a episode..at the same time I notice that the show has stuck with the plan of not having "guest star" appearances, which totally works..but will you ever have "guest stars' on the show?

Why was Scranton picked as a location for this show?

I am the mother of a mildly autistic child and a teenager, and do not watch any TV at all other than the Office. I just hope you will relay to the entire cast & crew that your show is my laugh therapy each week. It is truly a bright spot for me in a life which is a bit frazzled:), and I just want to use this forum to convey my gratitude.

Hi Greg,
Are there plans to publish The Office scripts, similar to what the UK version did? If so, when? And if not, would you please consider doing so? I think that would be a best-seller, just like the Season 3 DVD!

With all the pranks you guys write for Jim and Pam to pull on Dwight... is your office full of pranksters?

I was wondering if there will be more Scranton based slang or phrases? e.g. Heyna or No?
Translation:Yes or No?

There are many "off-site" episodes of the office where the characters go somewhere else other than the actual office at Dunder Mifflin Scranton like in Beach Games, Booze Cruise, Women's Appreciation, Business School, etc. Do you find that it is increasingly difficult to write material for episodes where the characters stay "on-site" because you have already used so much of the common material (such as the holidays, product recall, the merger, etc) and and want to make the subject of each episode as diverse as possible? (Basically, will we be seeing more episodes that take place away from Dunder Mifflin?)

Since the final episode of "Seinfeld," sitcoms have gradually begun to fade from television. In their place, we are seeing more and more single camera style comedies--this year, only one of the five nominated shows for best comedy was a sitcom. What do you think is in store for the future of comedy?

Much of the show's humor comes from Michael's complete lack of managerial (or social) ability. It has, however, been established that he is a very good salesman. Despite this, Michael's status as Regional Manager has never really been in jeopardy. Before, I attributed this to the fact that Jan had feelings for him. But now that Ryan is his boss, is there a chance that Michael may be demoted?

I love "The Office"!!!!Best show ever! Will you keep Jim and Pam together this season? Please, please do!!

Elizabeth, I can answer that for you! Nope, he did not. With his transfer to Stanford, he was too busy to go on vacation.l*

Did Jim ever take his trip to Australia?

Hi! Congrats on your Emmy win! Are you planning on doing a Creed centered episode? I think that would be a great, hilarious episode, on such a strange, creepy, character!

You guys are AMAZING. I was dundering if you have any plans to introduce the character of Michael's brother? He was mentioned in "The Pilot", but he hasn't come up again since (unless we're pretending that he was never spoken of...it happens). Oh, and do you ever get disappointed that you can't do a musical episode because then it wouldn't be a mockumentary anymore (Dwight serenading Michael would be pretty funny). :P

Will you guys do an episode that explains why Michael hates Toby so much?

Is their any chance of you guys doing like a contest to have a fan be on the show?

I really think that you should make all of the episodes an hour long.

What do you think about NBC yanking The Office off iTunes? I think it sucks, and the fans--which helped make The Office the success it is through iTunes—are getting screwed because NBC is so greedy. Those of us with iPods and Macs will have to buy new equipment or forget about watching The Office on anything but TV. It really makes me mad. What do you think about all of this?

Can you do an episode where Jim and Pam go out on a double date with Dwight and Angela? I think that has serious comedic potential haha

You have always said deleted scenes are considered part of "the Office" stories - is there any plans to cut versions of episodes including deleted scenes?

I love the hour long episode idea- any chance of season 5 being all hour long episodes?

There seemed to be a bit of a Toby drought toward the end of last season. Will you let Paul know that this needs to be rectified?

Or I should say Andrew's question

I came to the site to submit a question and saw that Ryan G already asked. So hopefully if two people ask, that will double chances. What was the whole process with Gervais and Merchant, and did they write for the American audience or did you guys take what they wrote and adapted like with the pilot?

Also NBC has a Writers Diversity Initiative program where they give funding to primetime shows to hire minority writers. Does your show participate in that and do you currently have any writers on staff that were hired through it?

in the job, when david is interviewing jim he mentions an hr guy and says "hes probably the only guy your not gunna like". could this be a forshadowing of david's character. maybe theres a little more michael in him than he'd like to admit??

Are you aware that pregnancy plots are really, really stupid? Gee, I hope so.

Congratulations on the Emmy win - you deserved it, and it was a long time coming! Now for my question: Are you accepting bribes to visit the cast/crew on set? If so, what is the suggested amount?

Will Roy be returning this season?

I'm a current Cornell student and find Andy's Cornell references hilarious -- a bunch of my friends and I have been dying to know: do any of The Office staff have some connection to Cornell?

congrats on the win. My question is now that there is a shake up in the characters, where they are going and heading to, are you planning on taking us the viewers into more of their personal lives outside of the office to tell how the end of the season 3 went down and their missing summer months to tie it into season 4 better?

Is Kelly going to get a new boyfriend this season - namely, Andy?

Greg! Love the show - I never miss it :)

My question: Is the Jim/Pam romance going to be written with an 'end game' in mind??

Thanks!

Greg, I go to Phillips Exeter Academy, your high school, and I was just wondering what your experience was like there.

Hey Greg! I'm a huge fan and adore both the original and US Office. I was wondering if you were nervous when you started The Office in 2005 because you were remaking such a successful British comedy. Were you afraid that it would fail?

Congrats on the Emmy, Greg. What is your favorite ep and tell us why. Thanks.

Do you have a general idea of what will happen throughout the series, or are you playing it by ear?

Will we be seeing more of the Dwight/Angela relationship this season? Are they going to be clandestine lovers forever?

Also, Ryan's fascination with women of color...that's so subtly hilarious -- I love it in Hot Girl where he says Katie is too pale. Cracks me up every time! Who's idea was that?

any chance of Ricky Gervais/Stephen Merchant writing or staring in any upcoming episodes? or ANYONE from the original (British) Office for that matter?

This might be answered within the first minutes of the show, but is there going to be a new opening credits sequence? If not, why not?

Question,: Are there any plans on the backburner to have the documentary start airing within the show (ie/ camerapeople get enough footage and finally decide to air it on television, etc.). It would be interesting to see the varied impact of that on the characters. Especially on Jim and Pam's 'relationship'.

Congrats on your Emmy win! I was wondering if rumors are true that all main cast members have signed contracts to continue the show for at least another 5 years (total of at least 8 seasons). Also, I was wondering what the chances are that The Office will be extended to a full hour on a regular basis. Seems like a great idea to me ;-). Lastly, can you give me John Krasinski's phone number? (JUST JOKING! Worth a shot though, right? ;-)

How has Jenna's injury affected shooting? Is she doing well now, and how did her injury figure into "Fun Run?"

Will we be seeing Kendall this season? Is he as bad as David Wallace says?

Why did jim kiss pam in the episode the job and just ask her out what was the thinking behind that?

What WAS that thing was at King's Cross that Dumbledore told Harry he couldn't help?

How do you feel now that The Office is in its fourth season?

What kind of advice would you give to people who want to write for TV, especially for a show like The Office?

Do you and the writers ever run out of ideas for new episodes? If so, what do you do to try and come up with new ones?

p.s. i love the show!!!

How come Karen still works at The Office? I thought she would of quit and moved.

Any concern that getting Pam and Jim together will hurt the series? Many comedy series have gone down hill after the couples got together.

You have an extraordinary team of writers and directors. However, I was always amazed at Ricky and Stephen's ability to create, write, and direct such an amazing and groundbreaking show all by themselves. Your show is a much more collaborative effort, but you have of course made more than fourteen episodes. What are the advantages of having such a large group of writers? What does it mean when a single person (or pair of people) are credited with writing an episode on your show? (In other words, how much have they actually written?)

Congrats on the Emmy Greg!! You really desversed it.
I know the writers didn't get a break this summer because of the 30 episode order. Did this help the writting process or was it more like a room full of 5 year old's in summer school?

There are few people other than Mr. Carell in the world I can imagine playing Michael Scott. His continued brilliance throughout the series has helped the show to get to where it is today. Out of curiosity, who else was considered for the part?

I assume you are good friends with Mike Judge, since you two co-created King of the Hill (a very nice show, I might add). Considering that he is the writer/director of "Office Space" (a fine movie, though admittedly different in style from "The Office"), have you ever thought of inviting him to guest direct/write?

Since Ricky Gervais is attached to this show, would he ever make a cameo appearance?

I loved the fact that Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant were able to write an episode last season. I know they don't have much involvement in your series. Was "The Convict" a collaborative effort between your writers and them, or did they write it by themselves? Can we expect to see more involvment from them (or anybody from the BBC version) in the future? Have you considered having them as guest directors as well as writers? That would be FANTASTIC!

With you being part of a writing team, what is the most challenging obstacle you face as a team in writing these characters?

Awhile ago I read that you had two different versions of "The Job" to get you to the ending. What was different in the other version? And was Ryan always slated to get the corporate job?

What ever happened to Toby's girlfriend? We want Toby to be happy!

Much of the comedy (and realism) on "The Office" is made possible by its mockumentary format. How often does this limit what you can/cannot do?

How did you get into the writing buisness and how would someone get into the television writing scene?

I loved Season 3, however, I must say that Season 2 is a better showcase of your show's unique comedy. Season 3 was wonderful as comedies go, but it lacked the level of witty charm I felt was present in Season 2. Was this an intentional move to increase ratings/viewership? Will Season 4 feel more like Season 2 now that Jim is back in Scranton, or will Season 3 become the norm, in terms of style, for "The Office?"

(This is not meant to be critical. I'm only fifteen, what do I know? I'll watch your show either way, most likely. You're the one with the Emmy.)

What would you say to a college freshman who thinks they might be interested in writing for television?

Do you plan out all the major arcs of the season ahead of time, or do storylines evolve as the season progresses?

PS Congrats on your Emmy! It was one of the few well-deserved awards of the night.

I am a HUGE fan of your writing, not only on "The Office," but on "The Simpsons," "King of the Hill," and "Seinfeld." As much as I love Gervais and Merchant, I'm very glad you won your Emmy.

How is writing for "The Office" different from writing traditional comedy?

The character of Michael is a brilliant adaptation of Gervais's wonderfully cringeworthy David Brent. Steve Carell is such an amazing person for the part.

Whereas David was sort of biding his time in Slough until he finally got the boot, Michael is obviously here to stay. How did his character evolve, and just how similar do you think the two characters are?

The question on everybody's mind - who is that lady that appears in the background every once in a while? Is she Marjorie? Please give us some clarity, Mr. Daniels! The Office fans need to know!

"The Office" seems to prides itself on it's amazingly believable situations, even in the most outrageous and awkward circumstances. As both writer and producer, do you sometimes wish you were able to include more physical and sitcom-style humor? Or, contrastly, do you wish you could be even more subtle with your comedy, in the style of Gervais and Merchant?

Premiere this week, and then Dunder Mifflin Infinity! When I saw the episode name, and then the new website for the game, I got chills! Can you tell us anything special planned for all of us Infinity "employees"? Will Ryan continue to be involved? I hope so!

Will any of the original British Office cast members appear this season? I know you tried last season but schedules couldn't match up for a guest spot.

Will Ryan's facial hair evolve over the arc of the season?

I remember a cast member saying back in June that someone we would not expect to return this season is returning. Who?

Seriously, where is the set (if you can tell us)?

Will we seeing much of Todd F. Packer this season? (can you guess what the F stands for?)

Who do you have lined up to direct this season? Will you bring Paul Feig back for an episode or two?

I'm a HUGE fan of both the American and British versions of "The Office" (and I'm only fifteen). Obviously, your show has developed it's own identity, and is perhaps a little more mainstream than the original. What are the biggest influences the orignal version has had on the style of your show? Similarly, how do you and the writers try to balance both the realism and the sillyness when writing an episode?

Any new guest directors this season?

Who decided on the '80s coke-head look for Ryan this year? Yikes!

What has been the biggest challenge for you and the other writers as far as getting ready for this season (with the 30 episode order) compared to the other previous seasons?

You say that you shoot so much for one episode and have so many extra scenes. I was wondering for hour long episodes, do you shoot even more than for regular?

Congratz on the Emmy!! Can we expect any new cast members this year?

With Ryan in New York, and out of Kelly's romantic life, will we get to see the sexual tension that's been building between Kelly and Creed for years finally addressed? Don't be afraid to go there, we can handle it.

Can't WAIT for the premiere. I was a JAM fan, but grew fond of Rashida Jones as Karen last season. Please tell me she won't completely disappear in Season 4.

Hi Greg! Congrats on the Emmy!
How is the camera set up? Are they all planned reaction shots or are they just captured by great cameramen?

Greg, your an amazing writer. I was so happy with your Emmy win!

About how long does it take you and your writers to write an episode?

Will you guys all be a the Office Convention in October?
