hi i am 22 and i have been overweight for about 10 years now. i was around 15st6lbs, but i have been on a diet called lighter life for neary 8 weeks and now i am 13st10lbs. its a 500kcal a day diet where i have 4 cups of soup a day. i was just wondering what your thought is on this diet as some believe the weight will go straight back on afterwards.
this diet is working for me as i dont feel happy (putting it mildly)being the big girl. i would very much appreciate you comments on this topic. thanks, sophie from the uk :)

Jillian, I think you are amazing. you are the exact kinda trainer i will be looking for once i regain use of my left side. someone who will keep pushing me even when i'm close to the breaking point. in 2005 i had a massive brain hemorhhage. i was only 31, i was a bouncer in a night club at the time along with being a vice president of an internet company. so i was in decent shape, but because of my lack of being able to use my left side, i have gained weight of course, and I cant wait to be able to get back to my former self. hopefully i can find someone to push me then as hard as you would :o) keep up the great job.

Hi, I've lost 46 pounds in 16 weeks and have not lost anything for 2 weeks now, I'm not cheating and work-out 1-2 hours a day. Do you have any tips to get off this plateau?

add some resistance training to your routine and you'll see the weight will come off, you need to build muscle to get your metabolism going.

hi jillian! i just hope you read this and respond to me! i have hypothyroidism and i do not want to take a perscription drug for it. i want to start taking a natural alternative herbal medicine when i can afford to in the future but im wanting to start losing weight right now! will i still be able to lose weight without taking medicine for my hypothyroidism? if i can still lose weight in your opinion , how much weight should i be able to lose each week? also do you have any suggestions as something i should do to help me lose weight? like a diferent eating plan do to my hypotyroidism? please help me if you can! thanks soooo much!

Hi Jillian! I just wanted to know if The Biggest Loser will ever have a season just for teens and overweights young adults. I know that its important for people of all ages to work hard to get into shape. Especially now with obesity at an all time high, i think that a teen season would help show ratings and help to motivate teens to lose wieght NOW! When i first saw u on the show i ended up saying "Whao this girl knows how to push". I got so much motivated started... started working out and ended up loosing 20 lbs. Now i m 167lbs at 5'7" I would really love to lose those tricky 20 more lbs.. and i wanna do it right. I m looking for a personal trainer... any specific thing i should be knowing before hiring one as this is my first time hiring a trainer.

i've gained 33 pounds in matter of two years and have a sit down job, i've joined a gym and have been running on the treadmill for 45 minutes each day...i don't feel like i'm doing enough ..i wish there was a way i could personally train with you so that i can for once in my life have something to show...what else should i do to get in shape?

I'm 29 5'7...I was born with Spina Bifida.(paralyzed from waist down) I have gained alot of weight in the past 10 years.(I currently weigh somewhere around 220)Two things...being overweight in my position is VERY bad for my health/well being. I am 33yrs old and weigh @ 325lbs.
2yrs ago my husband almost lost his life to kidney failure and is now on dialysis 3x a week.
He is currently waiting for transplant. As far as I know I do not have any major health problems but then I have not been to a doctor since I had my son 4yrs ago. Today my biggest fear is that I will lose my husband at a young age and my Son will lose his father. What I do not want is to die young also and leave my Son without parents. I am scared. I need a jump start to get me going in working out to lose weight. You my friend know your stuff! You can kick butt but then get down on our level and encourage. Help me. And help my husband who is already fighting for his life in other ways. What do I do? How do I start? I want intensity like I see on the show. Thanks and I look forward to seeing more great success from your team!

I have been working hard and starting to lose weight and get in shape. Unfortunately, I have lower back problems and threw out my back a few weeks ago. Since then, I have had trouble getting into exercising again. I love to run, but I'm not sure what I should be doing right now. I need to keep up the momentum and keep losing weight- HELP! Jillian, oh my God I love you! You are an inspiration to me I was so sad last season that you were not on the show. Kim iss great but she is not you! I used to be in great shape, in the Army. The I had my two children and was diagnosed with Cervical Dystonia/ Spasmodic Torticollis. It has changed my life and I am now over weight. I weigh 100# more than I want to! I found out today that my depression has gotten worse. My husband has been diagnosed with ALS. Please can you tell me or maybe have some thoughts of what I could try to do to get back to working out. That would help my endophins and bring me out of my depression but I would totally have to be in a controlled environment. If you ever do a show with disabled or people with disabilities but would give more that 110% than what is on TV please sign me up. I am so glad to see you back. Please stay!!!

I’m 45. I quit smoking 7 mths ago and gained 25 pounds in all the wrong places! I’m 5 foot 8 and not over weight according to the height/weight chart - but it’s not the body I want. It’s all landed on my bottom, waist and thighs, and my triceps have got that jingle! I’ve started a workout program and it seems that my recovery time is longer. Is that normal for my age or am I just more out of shape than I thought? Should I keep pushing on days when I’m sore? I’m doing two days of weights and one day of aerobic exercises right now. One last question please - I’ve read so many books and mags (and am now more confused than ever) and I’ve seen all kinds of diet plans but it just seems like so much food. How do I decide what my intake should be? I eat 5 times a day. Thanks ahead of time for any advice you can give. Look forward to watching the rest of the season. p.s. do you have your own website?

How do you boost your metabolism, while dealing with alot of illnesses? Such as hypoglycemia, cancer, and infections. It is very frustrating not being able to loose weight. did you say eat an hour before a workout? Is that really important? I would have to get up at 5am to do that, its hard enough getting up to work out!! i'm not a morning person....please say a glass of water is enough about 30mins before!!
I am 30 lbs overweight. This past summer I made it a goal to lose at least 20 lbs and continue to lose the last 10. I run about 20-25 miles a week at a 9 minute mile. and lift weights 5 days/wk.Over the summer I lost nothing.I went to a diet and exercise specialist and after a month of her advice, still nothing off. Have any advice before I throw in the towel?

What advice do you have for people with muscle pain (sort of like fibromyalgia)? Sometimes I can get a great workout in and have a hard time waking up the next day feeling like I have muscle pain (not exercise related) and a lot of fatigue. What should I do?

Jillian, love that you are back!! I need advice! I work 40-50 hours a week all night shift! I had lost 50lbs before going to stright nights and in a year have gained about all back. I pay attention to portion control and calories, try to exercise, but when it seems that all I do is work (RN in Labor unit) and sleep, it is hard to find time for much else- even run with 3 kids. Any advice?
I don't know if my question got through. Sorry, I am not good at this. Will Biggest Loser consider a "home version" or home contestants that are monitored locally and with that arm device. That would give some of us a competitive reason to work out even if alone. I can't find anyone who will work out regularly and have all my equipment in my home.
