SNL fans

Aaron and I are both huge fans of Saturday Night Live. I once had an office in the Brill Building in NY and Lorne MIchaels was my landlord. He made me pay rent on time, but still managed to do a very good show. Actually, nothing would please us more than to know that Lorne liked the show.

In fact...I just heard from one of the original SNL writers, a very talented man named Alan Zwiebel, who just saw the show and could not have been more complimentary.

Mentioning SNL makes me wish once again that Michael O'Donoghue was still with us. I wonder what he would be like as a staff writer on this show! :)

Does art reflect life here with the SNL connection?

Thanks, Aaron. Huge Fan. One of the reasons I love your show is the politics embedded in a lot of the stories and dialougue - which is why I hope you'll use your considerable influence to encourage NBC to stop fighting their janitors' efforts to win decent wages and health benefits. You can make a huge difference in their lives. Thanks.

Zwebiel is the best and a really nice guy. He wrote all the great Gilda Radner skits. I say that's a great compliment

Three 6 Mafia tore up da club. DJ Paul, Juicy J, and Crunchy Black performed Side 2 Side really good! Too bad Lord Infamous or Project Pat couldn't be with them.

I never join on in this kind of thing, although I just did it twice here a minute ago! But this show is worth asking questions about!! Is Judd's character completely gone? I hope not! I think it is pretty darn cool that NBC with SNL would do a show about the same type of ground-breaking sketch comedy and the flavor of all that. Good going NBC!! And here I thought CBS had all the great new shows this fall!!!

Big Big fan of the show and needless to say the West Wing. Just spent the summer rewatching the entire Sports Night Series on DVD, you haven't lost your flair for comedy writing!

So whats the craziest thing that has happened so far during production?

Aaron and Tommy, what is the significance of 11 years? You referenced to it in tonights premiere as well as in Sports Night? Any personal meaning?

Love you guys!

No offense to SNL, but I already like Studio more. What you said about writing characters who are people trying to do the right thing...way more fun to watch...and pretty rare in real life. So, SNL is fun...but the language of Sorkin/Schlamme stuff is more fun to listen to and the people are far more likeable. Well, that's it for me. Have a good night all!

Your shows are obviousley very intelligent. Do you guys feel like when you have an hour on primetime tv you have some sort of responsibility to use it to teach us, inspire us, and make us think along with entertaining us? Or is that something that just happens?

Impressive. Any time an SNL writer from the glory days approves... you know you have a hit.
