Omg, blog buddies - my head is spinning!!!

After a whopping 3 days back in LA after the inauguration to get my life together again, I'm back on the road and in Tampa Florida now to cover media for the Super Bowl.

HEAD'S UP!!! I'm LIVE on The Tonight Show via satellite from Tampa this FRIDAY!!!

I am thrilled to be here with my amazing crew - the same peeps I've been working with for my entire 7 years on The Tonight Show, but I am a little dizzy from all the go-go-go I've been up to lately.

Luckily I got a fantastic night of sleepy last night, so I'm good to go today. Also, there's a Starbucks right outside our hotel. Phew!

My producer is going to be knocking on my door in less than one minute (it's 7:59 am here as I type this), so I have no time to do a TALKY BLOG today.

If you know me at all, you know I'm a football fan. In fact, football is tied with figure skating as my favorite sport ever.

But I've got to be honest, I'm not as well versed when it comes to the Cardinals and the Steelers. But, in all honesty, who would have thought that these two teams, especially the Cardinals, would make it to the big game this year?!?

Not I, which is why I've been spending some time doing a lil' research.

Anyway, football - I am spoiled and when the Patriots aren't in the Superbowl now I tend to get uninterested. I will be making Superbowl snacks as usual for my Hubby, but I am not really feeling I this year. My prediction: Steelers will win.

As for Tampa - I hear the college campuses are really nice there.

Hi Ross and BB's: As a Browns fan, not only will I be rooting for the Cardinals (if you wear brown and orange you root AGAINST black and gold LOL) but I also know very little about football (just like my team!) But I was once told that since Troy's hair is part of his uniform you can pull it just like a jersey- but it is a holding penalty. I don't know if that's true though. I always wondered about the helmet thing too, I bet he had to go up a size or something. You should ask if you talk to him, that would be a great question for on the show!
As for Tampa, I would totally do Bush Gardens. I'm an animal lover, and I love the giraffes. HAVE FUN!!

Your such a busy boy! I live in Kansas City and our team sucked so bad this year I started following the Steelers.
GOOOOOOOO!!! STEELERS. They are the come back kings of the season. Review some tapes of their games, all of them are nail biters. Plus the fact that they actually play outdoors and in horrible weather in Pittsburg has to tell you they are the team to beat.
My prediction is that the Steelers will dethrone the Cardinals. Oh and check their team roster. I think they have a player who's last name is "Gay". Might make a funny interview for you to do.
Pick up a "terrible towel" for your home viewing party and root for the Steelers.

I'm pulling for the Cardinals. Who would have guessed, especially considering that the Seahawks usually win the NFC West (but let's not talk about that!) Okay, I also harbor a little bit of resentment from the 2006 Super Bowl where the Steelers "beat" the Seahawks. Haha.

I wish I had some good advice for you. As far as the hair thing, if it hangs out of the helmet, it's considered part of the uniform, so I'm pretty sure there's no penalty in grabbing it (unless it's holding, which can also happen when a player grabs the jersey). You should ask to tug on it and see if it hurts.

If you end up at Raymond James Stadium, ask if they'll set off the cannons. Everytime the Buccaneers score a touchdown, they set them off.

I read this yesterday and felt the same way. MURDER! This man was 93, no kids, no wife. It should have been handled differently. Very sad.

Ross, I never told you this I went to the same high school that Rocky Bernad went to. he went to Ross. S Sterling High School baytown, tx 300 W baker Rd. i dident go to school with at the same time he graduate in 1996. I graduate 10 years later. he plays for the Seahawks.

Ross, never cared much for football until my nephew played professionally.

My sons cousins on his dad's side is Mark Bavaro. He played for the NY Giants in the late 80's early 90's.

My nephew Jermaine Wiggins played with the NE Patriots and won a Superbowl in 2002. What a time that was. We had media everywhere! Such a great time it was.

They will be coming out with a new franchise called UFL. My nephew will play for them.

I just feel that all the hype about the Steelers is a little overrated. They are a good team that is for sure. However, if Kurt Warner is having a good day then I just don't thing that the Steelers can defend against the presion passing of Warner. I am calling this one for the Cardinals!

I just want to say that I hope you don't go all Rosie on us and just decide you are going to blog when you 'feel' like it. I see you are getting busy and when you are it seems you disappear more and more. I just wanted to put in a few cents for the loyal fans who have supported you. I live in AZ. Huge sports fan.
I was listening to the DJ's (Gambo and AshO on the local radio station that broadcasts the Cardinal games and Ash said he saw Ross the Intern from the Tonight Show, he said how funny you are! Very cool. Go Cards, and Halla Ross!!

Have a great time at the Super Bowl Ross!! We'll be watching (any excuse for some brewskis around here!) and since Kurt Warner is cuter than the other QB (just my opinion..don't shoot me)...we'll..ok...'I'll' cheer for the Cards! I think the two teams are evenly matched up so it should be a great game!

It's always fun to watch NFL finals and compare them to our CFL. Did ya know..our balls are striped and yours aren't...oh...and our fields are bigger and more players play? Our end zones are deeper too!! Butt we don't have tight ends in Canadian football..well, that's debatable so it's always a treat to watch your games! And..one more tidbit...in the CFL, the SNAP HAS to go between the centre's legs - not a requirement in American football, but they do it anyway...hmmmmm....LOL I think it's done that way here so the QB can warm his hands for a minute...it's usually freezing cold...what's the excuse in Florida! Maybe you could ask that question Ross! LOL

Somewhere in Tampa to go - is actually somewhere I've never been and always wanted to visit - BIG CAT RESCUE. It's a wonderful place that rescues all kinds of big cats that were in zoos, road-side shows and former pets of misguided folks that "collected" exotic pets. Check it out and maybe give us a report. Great to see Ross back with us but I for one would really like to know why the Tonight Show is in Tampa a full 6 days before the Super Bowl but when Ross was in DC for the event of the decade, a once in a lifetime event, they couldn't even send a camera with him to film the inauguration!!!!!!!!

My husband got to meet Kurt Warner and his wife when he was the quarter back for the St. Louis Rams. He is a genuine good hearted man. He does a lot of charity work and I have to say I'm rooting for the underdog at this year's super bowl. Have a wonderful time Ross! Go Cardinals!

John the skinny, wow! Twenty-two pounds in 3 weeks? WOOHOO!!! That's fabulous! It took me about 5 months to lose that much. LOL

I'm doing just great!! Selling our other house let us go from payday-to-payday living to having extra cash to do what we want. It's SO nice to have a buck in my pocket! LOL Big weight off our shoulders. No more credit card stuff. Yay! I'm healthy and happy. My family is, too. Life is good. (Ever go to lifeisgood.com? They have neat stuff!)

You should check out Busch Gardens. It's like a zoo with roller coasters (including one of the top 5 coasters in the world: The Montu). Don't know if you're into that stuff, but if you are, go check it out.

As far as the Super Bowl goes, I gotta go with the Steelers. They got the Oregon Ducks star quarterback from the last few years, Dennis Dixon, and even though he probably won't play in this game, I still gotta root for the guy and his team.

Maybe skip the hair question to Troy, since today was a media day, someone asked him why his hair is so long and he asked them why their hair is so short...He is a GREAT PERSON AND PLAYER!He is a new father, ( a son) maybe ask about being a new father. Larry Fitzgerald attended the Univ Of Pgh. and would go to some Steeler games to watch Hines Ward play while in college. They are friends now. Pretty neat they will be playing against each other on Sunday. If the Steelers win, Coach Tomlin would be the youngest coach to win the Superbowl. And of course, wave a terrible towel when talking to a Steeler!

Just wanted to share a bit of exciting news. I had posted a while back about adopting a cat - well, he didn't seem to jive with me so I decided to wait. We had an owner surrender a cat at work and I've decided to be her foster mom. She has only been here 3 hours and I can already tell that she is a new memeber of the family. The word "foster" is a thing of the past. She's so darn sweet and loveable - flops over on the bed to scratch her back and get her tummy rubbed!

Just wanted to share! Hope you are having a great time in Florida, Ross! Soak up some sunshine for me! I'm listing to the ice and freezing rain hit the windows as I type.

Welcome to the Sunshine State Ross ~ luckily the warm weather came back, it was FREEZING last week (well, freezing as far as Florida standards go)

As others have mentioned, Busch Gardens is a great place to spend the day. It's a beautiful park with lots of great animals and of course the coasters!

There's a great tapas restaurant called Ceviche that's not to be missed ~ a few have also mentioned Columbia over in Ybor City. It's a Florida institution and over 100 years old. It's also the largest Spanish restaurant in the world ~ a full city block!! *and if you're in the mood to splurge, their white chocolate bread pudding is to die for...Im not a fan of either white chocolate OR bread pudding ~ but this is amazing!!*

Also, if you are in the mood for a little shopping, near the Raymond James stadium is a great place called the International Plaza. Great shopping and good food ~ also some night life ~ try Blue Martini there.

Can ya tell I used to be a Concierge in the area??

When I was in 9th grade, my boyfriend said "If you ever want to see me on the weekends, you better learn to like football." So I bought the book called "The I Don't Know Anything About Football Book" and learned the game. The boyfriend of course is long gone, but I am a huge football fan. Love the Seahawks and the Ravens. Have to root for the Steelers because of Oregon Duck Dennis Dixon. Go Pittsburgh!!!!!

A few minutes ago, I was watching the sports segment on our local Houston station, and the sports broadcaster was in Tampa....Media Day. Suddenly, who was he interviewing??? IT WAS ROSS!!! Don't know why, but Ross was carrying a pink football. Maybe we'll get answers Fri nite.

Personally, I don't like watching football, but I enjoy playing it. I have fond memories of playing it in gym class and with neighbors. On tv, it is the most boring thing for me to watch. Maybe because I have forgotten the rules, lol.

Gang, I lost 1.6 pounds this past week. Had my WW weigh-in last night. So I guess my rough patch is over and I'm back on track. I'm only trying to lose 2 pounds a week so I did okay. I'm happy with it! Yay! That's 42 pounds I've lost on WW and 68 pounds total. I can do this! LOL

I creeped out today to buy dog food and LO.... I found Sierra Mist Cranberrry Splash in cans!!!! Now I know where Cathy hid her private stash for the Ross Blog. LOL
Other people were buying milk eggs, and bread. I was buying pop and dog food (and a frozen pizza).

I was hoping for snow days off from school. I have had 3 consecutive and tomorrow makes 4. The rain that fell turned the snow into puddles. Those have frozen into mini-lakes and glaciers. There are power outages all around me caused by trees snapping from the weight of the ice and ripping the power lines.

Ross is better off being in FL with the sunny weather and the hoop-la of the Super Bowl.

Marr: Actually, not quite! The G forces build up after launch, and those DO force the eyeballs back into the head. The vibration we're studying is in addition to the G forces!

We have some data showing that the combination of high vibration and high G hurt reading more than just vibration alone, from a study we ran this summer where we put astronauts in a centrifuge equipped with a vibrating chair! Fun!

Vernell: We spin them up to 3.8 G, which is the maximum amount they'll experience on ascent in the new vehicle (on Shuttle, the max G experienced is 3 G). That doesn't really hurt, but it makes it difficult to breath.

We vibrate up to levels that give me a bit of a headache, but lots of people experience it with no lasting discomfort at all. And no other aftereffects that we can discern, either.

According to the models, the period of maximum vibration, which will happen near the end of "first stage", will last less than 10 seconds. Still, the astronauts want to make sure that they can maintain situation awareness during that time.

It is my first time to comment YAY only cause I heard Ross' voice on my local TV news and was really confused. He was at the end of a segment on the news talking about the media day at the Super Bowl.

So I am a huge Steelers fan and Ross you should find Hines Ward and ask what he says to the other team ... he is known for his hilarious smack talk. Troy Palumalu is the man, probably one of the best players in the game today.

Hope you have fun in Tampa, and enjoy the sunshine, and if you come back up to Big Bear Lake, I will teach you how to ski! then we can go play Bingo at the Elks lodge :D

first off: Cathy PA - smooches for my HOT tea in the morning. If I knew how to bold or italicize for effect in the comment section, I would. I know it can be done with a shift-control-alt-tab-F2-F10-yadayadayada-razzmatazz thingy....but I just can't quite get it. Suffice to say - thank's dear! Love my morning tea. (used to be a coffee fiend, but changed to tea for some reason and now am hooked on that...)

secondly: i joined this blog either last year at Superbowl or the one prior...can't remember. It was a fluke actually that it was around the big game because I just can't stand watching sports (now I'm ducking for cover!). I LOVE the fact that so many of the BB's are fanatical about the big bowl, but it just isn't my thing. And with all of the parties... TAMPAGRANNY (gotta love caps) et al, those of us who aren't footballers just have to get through the next couple of weeks. But the rest of you enjoy yourselves times 100 --- 'go team'.

So with that..... I guess I'll just watch from the proverbial sidelines until we get back to civilation --- the Academy Awards!!! :)))

Imagine that no talky blog. Another broken promise. Ross dude if you are not going to post something DON'T tell people you are. I remember the story of the boy who cried wolf and I remember that no one believed that poor little boy anymore and lost interest in him. Trust me dude you still need your blog buddies cause when Leno ends well you know...

Whabby- What an exciting job you must have! I imagine you putting the astronauts in a cardboard box and shaking them around like a box of cereal while shouting Jeopardy questions at them. hahaha! :-) I'm sure your job is quite serious, but the visualization really made me laugh!

If anyone can't handle that Ross has other things to do sometimes than post , or if you can but just miss him, start watching the old ones. I mean he's provided all 2-1/2 years worth for goodness sake!

"A Mom" I think what the poster was trying to convey is that when Ross says he is going to post a blog which he does often and then doesn't post it turns people off. I know the kid is busy but I am one BB that is getting turned off by it. I don't use my computer all that often so sometimes I turn it on and go through all the steps just cause I want to see Ross on a talky and when he isn't there it can be a drag.

I recently "discovered" the old blogs and I've been thoroughly enjoying them. I consider his blogs a gift, not an entitlement so if he can't give me that gift every day, so be it.

For all of you blog buddies who are not football fans (I know God forbid) on game day on Animal Planet they have the Puppy Bowl. A football field with just puppies playing. It is on for hours and is so fun to watch. Every once in a while they take the dogs out and put in kittens and then back to the dogs. So enjoy.
