Happy President's Day, blog buddies!

It's still kinda the weekend and I have relatives in town (see tomorrow's TALKY) and I'm being kinda lazy today and it kinda feels super nice to do nothing so... well... I'm not gonna post a TALKY today.

Oopsies! :)

But here's the deal: since it's President's Day and we're in the midst of a presidential election, let's talk shop.

Today's TOPIC OF THE DAY is...

Does the person in the office of President of the United States really affect our every day life?

Go share YOUR thoughts in the COMMENT SECTION (below)!

Until tomorrow, gang! :)
Ross

Hey Ross and Blog Buddies!
Hopefully everyone is enjoying their long weekend!
Diana!

Hey Ross~
I know what you mean about it being sorta the wknd still. I was thinking the SAME thing!! Missing the talkys though~

Hope you're having a great time with relatives! I'm going to go enjoy the rest of my wknd too~

Enjoy your day off, Ross!

I'm far too wise to start talking politics in here. I'm just going to sit back and watch the fur fly!

Happy P-Day! (sounds naughty hehe)

Love ya'll,

Ness

We are at home for the holiday today and just being lazy after a great weekend in CA.

Yes, the office of President does really affect our every day life along with the congress and senate.

Enjoy your day and your company from out of town.

Happy Monday Ross & BB's!

Off to watch the talky.

Hugs,
Kim :)

Hello Everyone! I got to work this President's day, so it didn't really feel like an extended weekend, but oh well. Anyway, ultimately I really don't think that the President affects our every day life. Certain policies can change some things, but those really come from congress.

Oops, there is no talky LOL!

Kim :)

Ross, enjoy your relatives and take a break

Hey Ross,
I am enjoying my day off...hope you are too!

To answer the question..yes I do think the president affects our everyday life. Maybe not in a personal kind of way, however, he (or she hopefully) does affect what is going on around us. The president affects everything from healthcare, to war, to economy, to the environment. So for example if the government is making changes to the economy it does affect our everyday life because maybe then we cannot afford a home or our bills if the economy is not good (as I believe it is not at this time). Believe me, I am ready to have a new president regardless because I think we just need to make a lot of big changes in this country which I think most people would agree. I tend to vote democratically so I will be voting for barack or hillary as I believe most others will as well. And I do believe either/ or will be our next president. I am voting for hillary for a number of reasons but first of all, even if she wasn't the president she was married to him and surely knows the way of what that will entail. So I just think she will be very experienced and that is helpful. Ok my novel is over now. Hope you have a great day. I am an avid fan..watch every day, I will try to post more comments....

hi Ross and BB's!
It's sunny and beautiful here in the pnw today! yeah!

does the president affect my daily life? not directly. only I can affect my daily life! it's all up how I choose to deal with things around me that might affect me in my daily life.

everyday things happen around each of us and how or what affects us is totally our decision.

enjoy your Monday!

lol@kimncalifornia :D

Hi Ross and BB's

Happy President's Day! I had to work today too but it has been terribly slow...so I have been internet surfing all day :)

Can't wait to see your talky with your family. Have fun!!

As far as your question, yes I do think the President does effect our daily lives. Especially with the economy and the war. All I know is that we definitely need some new blood in the White House!! :)

Have a great Monday!
Cathy from Iowa

Hi Ross :) have a great day off, enjoy your relatives and louise. will tune in tomorrow for the talky. hope everyone had a good day today. kind of slooooow at the office :(

Hey Ross&bb! I hope everybody had a great weekend, mine was boring haha. Well im not too into politics so, no the person in office doesnt affect my everyday life. Have a great night!

Holla Ross & Family!!!
totd: you betcha...
bbl to elaborate...
Let's just say...
It's the Economy Stupid!!!

My view is it's like most businesses. I put more stock in the senators and congressmen than the president. He is the chief and I concintrate more on the people he leads. This election is tough because there isn't a clear "winner" As a disabled American I wish more were done for healthcare and protecting the middle class. Too much big money running the country. I could go on and on and on.

Our economy is in the toilet-effects are seen in the foreclosures, those of us selling our houses and can't.

My first reaction though was how other nations, people perceive us-and I feel ashamed!

hi ross and blog buddies:) hope you all had a great weekend.

~The President as an individual?
No.
What they represent,
their policies and the
people that are in place
to enact those policies? They're the ones that
give me the heebie-jeebies.
daily.

Glad you are takin the day off.
Good for you!!!!
I love your talkies and more often than not they make my day, but I also think you are entitled to text blogs and no blogs whenever ya want for that matter!

POLITICS!
Oy.
Skeered to get into the subject.
Does he/she affect daily life?
YES!
As do all those we elect to represent us.
Look at the economy, the war, healthcare, food on our tables, jobs, etcetcetc! It is all affected by the policies of our government.

ALSO!
The MOOD of the country, which affects all the stuff, is due to these same people.

I think I forgot to tell you something I found interesting on 1vs100 the other night when YOU were on it.

The question came up about the Federal Minimum wage. The GASP that came out when soooo many people got the answer wrong, including you my sweetie if I recall, felt like to me that NO ONE on that panel could believe the federal minimum wage is THAT FRIGGIN LOW!!!! Made me think that most of the panel is surely making over $6 per hour. I wish everyone would have to experience what it is like for hard working people of this country. Work their behinds off and can't feed their families or make ends meet. Hard to do at under $6 per hour. Heck, in my town right now, the jobs I see in the paper for people with skills is $7.00 per hour.
My biggest beef is that you have to be RICH to run for office and most of those people never have and never will live like most of us in the country.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh.
:o)
Love ya Ross!

Hi Ross,
You deserve the day off, hope you are enjoying your relatives visit.
No, I don't really feel the person in the office of the president really affects my daily life all that much.
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their long weekend off if you had one. If not, glad Monday is about over for you and have a great restful evening.

CAN'T WAIT TILL 2-22-08!

Hi'ya Ross!
Hi'ya Blog Buddies

It's been a long time since I posted. Just wanted to say "HI" and to say, I have no outward opinion about the president. I have learned in my old age (34!) to never talk politics with the people you love! LOL!

I hope everyone is well! I have been watching the talkies, but have not had the time or energy to post. So sorry!

Ross, I am very pleased that the writers strike is over. Tell Anthony HI from me, I think he is even HOTTER than he used to be! ;O)

OMG, Jim Carrey, Carol Bernett and Steve Carrel (sp?) on Oprah today! I can't stop smiling! They are all so funny!!!!!!

I am sick of WINTER! That should be the TOTD! It is once again below zero in MN. No snow! Just FREAKIN cold! Bring me SNOW!

Done rambling! Take care Ross, take care Blog Buddies!

Ross,

I need to start by saying that I have never before been so interested in the presidential election. This year (super Tuesday) was the first time I ever voted for anyone in any kind of election.
It was like I was in a political coma b4. I did not care, in a sense about our political nation. I wasn't, howver, one of those people who didn't vote but was very oppinionated about everything political. I was sure my opinions didn't count, so I just kept them to myself. Well now for whatever reason I have decided that if nothing else, "MY VOTE COUNTS!"

I do believe that who we have in the office of the presidency affects our every day life. Not with the little things like what color sock we wear but with the broader spectrum of things, for example; in our country it is morally wrong to abuse animals. There are very specific guidelines we go by to say what is abuse, and what is not. Well that was at some point I am sure (as minor as it may be) an issue for the president to visit. So what if our new president decided that it was animal abuse to feed our precious pets table food. Everytime we did it we would be faced with the fact that accoriding to our elected offical we are abusing our beloved pet. Whether we agreed with his/her new take on the law, we would have to abide by it and stop feeding fido our table scraps, bcuz the president said it is wrong.
Our president my not come up in everyday conversation and our every day life may not change when a new president is elected. We are, however, in the greater scheme of things, affeted each and everyday by the one we chose to lead us.

HAPPY PRESIDENTS DAY!!!

{{{{HUGS}}}}
Renee

The president has a direct influence on my life. The executive branch has a disproportionate say in disbursing tax dollars, and the current president sure hasn't followed up his "vision for space exploration" that he announced in 04 with the budget we need to make the vision a reality.

That means I have to scramble all the time to keep my lab funded, to find sponsors for our work, to keep my group employed, all to get the R&D work done necessary to support the vision.

Thanks, GWB, for your direct influence!

Yes the president represents my every day life....I often try to unlawfully invade my neighbors yards to steal their vital lawn gnomes and convince my husband that its vital to our yard security that all lawn gnomes must be dealt with swiftly and illegally.... :) ok maybe not...Real answer I think is no because frankly the latest thing of giving refunds to boost the economy is stupid and just throwing a water balloon at a house fire... The money people will get back isn't going to help the economy its going to help people get caught up. Which don't get me wrong i'm looking forward to getting caught up but its not going to give me the ability to go out and spend it on new crap that i dont' need just so the economy doens't crash.

Do you know that a good percentage (not sure the exsact one but alot) of military families in this country are on WIC or food stamps... Its true I was a military wife and we were getting assistance...while living on a military instulation rent free...It hurts me to think of the things this administraion has done and has done to american soldiers... Yeah your job is to defend your country and do what your "commander in cheif" tells you but shouldn't they and their familys at least be able to take care of them selves? Guess not. So so very sad in my opinion.

Sure....especially with the rebate coming our way!! Show me the money!!! I think he affects our attitude more than the little random things. He obviously affects our news coverage.

I'm excited because today is my birthday!!! The big 24!! I am sitting around all day, eating chinese food and watching Steve Carell on Oprah- life is good!

omg im commenting to see if im still being foaded but yea
..lol...cant wait for the next blog ross!

I believe the president absolutely affects our every day life. That person is the symbol for our country (in addition to the work he/she does) and other leaders from around the world have their perceptions of that leader. I think this has GREATLY impacted our foreign relations in the past 7 years and you can see that reflected in our economy and clearly in gasoline prices. There's so many ways that the president impacts our daily life even though they may not be overt law-making decisions.

Have a great president's day and enjoy the sales!

YES when he puts our children and our childrens children for many generations in DEPT. He has put our country in such DEPT we may never get out. Also we have lost so many of our youth defending another country. SO Sad. We have all lost jobs and homes. YES his decisions effect us all everyday!

Hey Blog Buddies!!

How is everyone? I haven't been posting nearly as much - just been a spectator of sorts lately, I should post more, eh?!

Yes of course the president does have an effect on our every day lives... politics in general do - unfortunately and it's not my favorite subject just because the first word that comes to my mind when I hear the word politics is CORRUPTION. Sad to say. I do have the utmost respect for our military service men and women though, I nearly enlisted in the Navy out of high school took the asvab and everything and was denied due to medical reasons :( my best friend served her time in the Navy and a close friend has been in Iraq for 2 years now. Words can not describe the respect I hold for them. Same for Fire Fighters and so on and so forth - but anyways - I hope all blog buds are having a good Monday!! :D I had my 1 month "review" at my new job and all went well, kind of was surprised I was more or less looking forward to a 90 review not a 30 day review. All is well. Saddens me the news this morning on the cattle and recall, the video coverage is enough to make me want to become a vegan, seriously been thinking about it. I don't know what the "right" think to do is...any tips? **blog buddies - as far as politics are concerned WHERE should someone who doesn't know much about the candidates go for unbiased honest information about the candidates to best make a decision on whom they should vote for this year????**** thanks so much for your help!!

Have a great week Ross & Blog Buddies!!!!

someone above mentioned the "rebate" checks coming ---- important to remember friends that this is an advance on your 2008 tax refund, if you'd get one. I for one, won't. So I will have to put this "rebate" check in savings just so I can earn a few bucks off it then send it back when I do my taxes for 2008.

oh, I forgot!!!! happy 24th birthday, SarahKY! Enjoy!

To Amy Lou, I tell you if I could I would ship you all the snow you want, it is getting to the point where we don't know where to go with it anymore and it is still snowing. Come on Spring.

Well he/she(fingers crossed) doesn't have an effect on me -he's not my president! :p

Ahaha yeah its definitely one of those days, I just feel like a lazy head. Thank god for Presidents, haha.

I'm going to have to go with some other people here, I'm just going to sit back and watch haha, I get in debates with my family about the government and the elections, so I'm content haha.

Have a great night everyone!

Good logic FRUITYPEBBLES. U and I are of same mind.

Yep, Prez & his/her administration effects our daily lives. 1 personal example: I, like many, have daily worries that someone in my family would have severe illness that would bankrupt us. Employee health plans are withering away and even folks with coverage aren't REALLY covered. Even my physician Hubby sees nothing but benefits to universal health care.

On another note:
I NEED A FAVOR, BLOG BUDDIES!
I'm an AGNOSTIC alum of a (very progressive) CATHOLIC college and my alma mater hosted a Clinton event this morning. The school is ALREADY getting heat for it.
(Ironically, Michelle Obama visited last week without criticisim.)

I'm hoping this critic gets inundated with "YES" votes on his poll. Can you help?

What Jacny said....DITTO!

Happy Prez Day Blog Buddies! My Nana used to say, "Happy George Birthington's Washday."

I really missed hearing Ross's cheerful voice saying, "HI Blog Buddies." Just shows how accustomed I am to him doing a talky blog!!!!

I took the day of work to host the burial of my granddogter. Marcie, my dad and I were all bawling when we finally finished up the task. To put it into perspective, it would be like Ross having to bury Louise after she had been mauled by a larger dog.

Marcie is still blaming me for putting the 3 dogs into one crate together while I was at work. AND, she has decided she can't stand to look at the Boston Terrier that did the damage. I have inherited her and have renamed her "The Boston Strangler."

Enough of my sad stories.... I'm glad to have you buddies for support!!!!!!

And now for the TOTD: I do believe the President and the Congress effect our daily lives, but not in on an immediate daily basis the way our nuclear families do. Decisions made by the Prez and Congress trickle down on the nation to effect us long after the day that they have made the initial proclamation or law. No Child Left Behind and the War in Iraq have effected us long after the first choices were made in Washington, but they were initialized by the Prez. I am still in a quandry about WHOM to support. I'll just wait until the National Conventions take place.

Hey Ross! Is Jay sending you to cover a National Convention like he did Angela Ramos, Skip and that other Jay-Walking girl? I think you should be one of those "Super Delegates!!!!!!"

I'm on a 3 day week end also so I am just going to kick back and read comments.

JOAN, JOAN, JOAN!!! I have seen that you folks to the east are getting hit very hard! It is so weird, because I am in Southern MN. Due West from LaCrosse about an hour and a half. You guys keep getting pounded, and we get a dusting!

With all the high winds, all we have is very DIRTY old crusty snow. Nothing that the kids can enjoy, and the negative degree temps and arctic wind chills equals ice...it is horrible! I know the grass is always greener. I am sure you are as fed up with the snow as we are with the wind and dryness.

Sadly, history has shown that we will get hit a few times before April with a storm or two. That usually include your area too.

Hang in there my neighbor!

Good Afternoon Ross and Blog Buddies....

I hope you all are enjoying the day...in honor of 2 of our greatest Presidents, George Washington and Abe Lincoln. It also makes me very grateful to live in this great country. Yes, there are problems and many issues. Yet, the freedoms we are blessed with have been paid with a price...and we should never forget that price. I pray for our country's leaders daily for God's wisdom and discernment and strength.

Happy Monday Blog Buddies!

It was the perfect February day here. Not a cloud in the sky, gorgeous sun and fresh air... we went for a picnic and then to Snoqualmie falls. Spent the rest of the afternoon sitting out front while the kids played with sidewalk chalk and I talked to my neighbors while sipping a latte. Gosh, I miss Spring/Summer!

On a DAILY basis... I am sure he does, but I try not to think about the Prez on a daily basis. But economically-YES. And when my neighbbors and friends are worried about their children in Iraq- YES. And when my gay friends can't be married- YES. And when I see on the news that millions of people are protesting something that my president has done to effect their country- Yes, that effects me too. It makes me worry about my children's future. It makes me wonder if this war will continue and they will try to find a way to draft my kids. It makes me wonder if my kids will need to move far away to make a living and afford a home. It makes me wonder if this country will be as strong when my children are my age. So as a mother/parent, yes this President does have an effect on me everyday.

OMGsh, now I feel frustrated because I was thinking about "W". Time to go get some fresh air again before the sun sets completely.

Okie dokie.... Of course the president et al affects our everday lives on every level, cept lest we forget....wink... it seems to me that we have forgotten that the way it was originally intended to work was to start with the individual citizen, then work it's way thru the system to the top and then back again. For many reasons we have allowed it to be turned the wrong way. Does that make sense?....seaside lady...it is smooth sailin today....cant wait for tomorrow...many good friends, 2 more radiation treatments cool beans eh? with love to all....Captain connie rofl

Greetings Ross & B-Buddies

PLEASE ~ STOP & THINK !!!

Before everyone goes off on Bashing the President, Please bear in mind that while our President
may only enjoy an approval rating in the high 30's ~ Please note that the Congress (mostly Democrat) is getting much Lower, in the Low Teens Only, by most Polls. So ... what does that say?

It's truely unfortunate when a Good President tries to do a Good Job .. but the rest of the country won't let him, by tying his hands and THEN Blaming him. Tsk! Tsk!

We should also be reminded that regardless of anyone's personal feelings for the Man ... As an American, one should always Respect and Hold the Office of the President in the Highest Esteem! THAT is our Patriotic Duty !!! Bashing the Office or the Man in it, Only Reflects Poorly on US !!!

Blessings! All .. Boopers n' Me in TEXAS

Well considering the whole world can't stand Americans due to George Bush's mishandling of the Iraq war, I think it does come back to all of us. And the recession we are in. Here's hoping we get someone in office who can cause some good change and not bad change for a change! I like Obama myself!

I am not touching the political issue with a 10 foot pole, but, I wanted to wish you a lazy, peaceful President's Day.
And, yes, the link to the *secret* Target article was TOO cool.
Have a great evening Blog Buddies! I am off to watch humanity disintegrate on Big Brother!

As a social studies teacher...YES. You have no idea how hard it is to stay inspired as an educator when you know that your job and your school funding is constantly in jeopardy because lawmakers (including ones that you admire) make deals with a president who refuses to budge.

I'm too young to be this jaded. :)

Hello BB and Ross. I am Canadian and we do not celebrate presidents day unfortunatly lol. So HAPPY HOLIDAY TO ALL OUR AMERICAN FRIENDS.

For those that remember i mentioned a few weeks back that I was have a BONE MARROW BIOPSY and asked for a little prayer. THank you to everyone. And I remember some saying to please let you know how things turn out. Well I got the results back today. I can tell you it was a terrifying experiance. I thought i was going to have a nervous breakdown in the waiting room at the dr's office. WEll finaly I got called in and he gave me the news. The technical term for my condition is THROMBOCYTOSIS ESSENTIAL. When I asked if it was cancer he said that he had to say yes and that it is a form of leukemia, but that it is like a non agressive form. He had a little trouble explaining it. He said its not a cancer but it is a cancer...but that i'm not going to die from it in the next few months. MY plood platelets are at 950,000 and they dont start treatment untill i pass the million mark. normal blood platelets should be around 400,000. ANyway I don't want to get all technical. I am also diabetic and he said I should be more worried about my diabetes than this new disease. ANd that i only have a 3% chance that it will turn into true agressive leukemia. I have the name of the disease and he told me if i wanted i could go on the internet and check it out but to be careful on what i read cause i just might end up scaring myself, well i am curious but i am not in a hurry. I will let what he told me sink in,,then maybe in a few days i will do a real search for this diseas on the net and see exactly what i have, in more depth. But he told me that I have more chances of dying from diabetes related problems than I do from this new disease, so that put me at ease a little. I just want to thank everyone for you rkind words and prayers, I have been praying a lot lately to.

thanks again and have a great day.

P.S. If you know of this disease or know someon who has it and had a real bad time then i would appreciate NOT knowing about it lol i only need positive hahah thanks

test

Ross and Blog buddies,
I have something to say about the question Ross asked. Does the president affect your every day life, well here's my answer to that.

For the past 7 1/2 years we have had a president that wanted to ammend the constitution that would take away the right for gay people to get married ever.
This to me was sending a message. The president who is someone that is looked up to, that other worlds leader look to was telling me that I will not be treated equal. That many millions of us would be left out of Liberty and Justice for all. That somehow because of something that is not a choice to any human being that "We" will never be granted the almost 1,000 benefits that heterosexual couples are allowed.

The president affected me DAILY. He was sending out a message to the country and rest of the world that I was not equal. A message that is so hurtful to the gay youth of America that have enough to worry about in facing who they are without hearing how truly different they are from their own president.

I can not wait for a new leader. I can not wait for the day that I and many other millions are given the rights and freedoms we deserve, the same as any American. I can not wait for the day that my partner and I of 13 years will be legally able to wed.

Here is to hope.
Here is to a new tomorrow.
Here is to a leader that can be strong and stand up for what's right.
Here is to a stronger America.
Here is to love.

My thoughts...thanks for listening.

Peace and Love BB's
Michael

Whew

let see if this goes Thu !

LOOKING forward to Tuesday night and Ross hosting American Night Idol Party !

Glad to see everyone enjoying a three day weekend!
including Ross!

The President: don't think our current situation is benefiting anyone, looking forward tot his President being gone! There, I tried to put that as nice as possible! Still on the fence on who to vote for, still reading, still listening, still watching the polls.... It is a process that's for sure!
But then again it could potentially be the next 8-16 years of our lives! Will I still be alive to see it? hmmmmmm

hugs and butterfly kisses from Maine,

YES!!!! The President and their policies certainly have an impact on our day to day lives...And to agree with some others, I am an American born citizen with the Freedom of Speech to bash Bush or any other political person I choose to verbally bash!!

Ohhhhh, yes, the prez influences my life. While I respect the office, I don't have anything that resembles respect for GWB. He destroyed our int'l reputation, our economy, the lives of thousands upon thousands who were killed or injured in a war that shouldn't have been. And we will all pay for that war for years to come. Cheney, on the other hand, is skipping to the bank.

I can't remember an administration that has had such a profound influence on my life and my community and I can't wait to see him give his final wave good bye. Ta ta. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

For the 18 months that my son was driving a Stryker with the Army in Iraq, my life was hell on pins and needles...so in that regard, yes, the President of the United States has affected my every day life. He has also negatively altered my opinion and trust our government and how it relates to the average everyday working Joe. Wherever the dart lands now is an improvement at best.

Hi Robert,

Just wanted to say, I'm thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way!!

Fruitypebbles -

If you ever need brain surgery, let me know. I'm not a brain surgeon, but I've been married to one for some thirty years. So-o-o-o, according to your reasoning, I should pretty well know my way around an operating room. Wrong! I probably could not remove a freakin hangnail. Just saying some food for thought.

Hello Ross and Blog Buddies,

I was hoping for a talky today I'm dissapointed but I know this is a holiday and Ross deserves a BREAK!!! So yeah, i've become dependant upon Ross' daily dose of happy that he gives me everyday. There something about his talkies that just brighten my day. I wonder if he is really that up beat all the time. I did like that link though, I went on it and I had just come from Target which is my favorite store but I had a headache so I grabbed my facial cleanser, paid for it and left the store. I didn't wonder the aisles like I usually do. After reading that blog I will see my Target shopping experience in a new light. Although I always check the end of the aisle clearance. Is it just me or did they not have hardly any holiday items last year like for Halloween etc. N/e way have a goodnigth Blog Buddies. Enjoy the rest of tonight Ross!

Kimncalifornia...LOL that was cute! :)

My dear Ross,

I SO could've used a happy Talky today, as it was a HORRIBLE day at work. Anything that could go terribly wrong, DID. Sigh... Oh well- I look forward to your smiley face (and maybe Louise's too)
tomorrrow.

YES, the president affects my daily life. The view projected by the president is seen worldwide, which affects how the rest of the world views US. Not a comforting thought right now...
I do ask that all Blog Buddies are SURE to vote. We need our voices to be heard.

As for your SUPER Target article, GEEZ- I thought I was the only one who made a sport of perusing the aisles for the clearance bargains. Good to know there is a method to their madness- THANKS!

Michael..
couldn't have said that better. brava!

and yes, the president effects everyone's life on a daily basis.. ask anyone who is in forclosure, or who is sending a loved one to iraq.. or has to scrape pennies together to buy gas.
The "man" who is holding this office now has made a mockery of our country.. he has MADE us a target for terrorist, but playin the cowboy and making us the most hated country ever. I will DANCE when he finally hands the keys to someone else.
I don't respect him and I never will.

Boopers~ I'm sorry that you can't understand why the majority of us cannot and WILL NOT defend the President. Perhaps when he is on trial someday for his war crimes you will get it.

For me it is much more important to stand up for my COUNTRY then to stand up for a man who has lied and cheated for his own personal gain.

And as far as the Congress, yes there are many of us that are disappointed in them too. However, that does not excuse what W has done to the way we are seen around the world.

Tsk Tsk on you for trying to take away our civil liberties and our rights as Americans to disapprove of our president.

Hello to All !
Just read yesterday's comments...

To Chriann & Kim,
Thanks for going to check out my myspace page. I'm still learning how to do things on it, I have much to learn.

Kim,
Where is skylerday performing at in Nashville? I tried to find her page but it kept telling me NO page found. I'll try again in morning.
Well, time for beddy it's after 1 am now.

Tootles to All! :)

How can being president not effect our lives?
Look at the last 6 years...it effects if our mother, brother, cousin, aunts, uncles, boyfriends, girlfriends go to war or not..if they will be with us for Christmas or in Iraq or somewhere else serving...It effects a great deal as to issues such as gay marriage or what rights we will have or in the last 8 years have taken away..

I get excited about politics. This year especially...it is a new day people!!! I cannot for the life of me wait until the election day..no matter who it is.. OBAMA OR CLINTON...because it wont be bush and thats a fact!! :)

oh and if anyone wants to add me on myspace

www.myspace.com/msamandagrl

hit me up! =)

Hi Robert! I'm glad you got your biopsy results. My mom has this disease and I believe the technical name of it is Essential Thrombocythemia. She has had it for years and years and it does not affect her in any way. She has to take 1 pill a day for it and she never misses that pill. It can be hereditary so I will eventually have to be tested for it -- when I reach about age 60 the doctor said. If you do as well as my mom does, you'll barely know you have this illness!

Hugs,
Katie

Hi Everybody! I finally got a chance to get here and read up on the comments. I still need to check out that Target site that you posted Ross. I LOVE a bargain!

chriann & GryffndorGrl,
What can I say, I'm a ditz at times - ok, a lot of the time! LOL

Miss Kitty,
Skyler is playing at Richard's Cafe in White Creek at 7pm on the 21st. She is also playing at the Blue Bird Cafe in Nashville on the 25th at 6:30pm. Hmmm, I just went to her myspace page and it came up for me. I'll give it to you again just in case I typed it wrong before. It is myspace.com/skylerday.

Happy Tuesday Ross & Friends

Hi All,

Yes, yes, yes indeed the president affects our daily life. I can't wait for this one to exit! I never thought I would see the day in Amercia that torture would be viewed as okay, that we would start a war unprovoked, that rights we took for granted would one by one be taken away by the Patriot Act. I think a true patriot Act is speaking the truth. I like Ron Paul's message, wish he had more of a chance. Instead I will vote for Obama.
1-20-09 a good day!

Louise

You are so right, I am so stupid. And Linda you are sooooooooooooooooo intelligent. I never know what I'm talking about. WTF. Between you two candadian ladies, and the cliques on the chat I'm about to go on a vacation from the Ross blog.
I'm completely annoyed.
EVERYONE, be sure to let me know if I spelled anything wrong, used improper punctuation... or anything else that could discredit my intelligence, K?

Again, I am so dumb and I never watch the news. I NEVER read and I have no common sense. Anything I do know is merely a scrape of the surface. I'm just dumb. In fact, I live a bubble and nothing bad has ever happened to me. What could I possibly know about life and death?
WTF! Give me a break.
Off to eat my special K and go for a walk.

Kasey in Indiana -

Sad to say, an unbiased account of any of the candidates will be difficult to find. Most newspapers -biased, major TV news - biased, cable news - biased (think MSNBC!), Fox news - well it is conservative, however it does have varied opinions represented (unlike other channels which would choke first), people - biased (when we make a decision, of course it is the best one!)

So, if you are truly interested, it is up to you to do your own investigating. "Google" search for Unbiased Political watch groups. But, be careful, many are biased. The term "trust, but verify" comes to mind. All the candidates throw around words and promises like water. What has he/she actually done? That is the question. All (except Huckabee, who probably won't be a candidate) have served in Congress. You can actually pull up their voting records and find out where they stand on issues. Do their actions match their words?

My question for ALL is, for all their high -faluting promises, why didn't they do somthing while in Congress? And, it is interesting to note how they ALL voted for THEIR raises, and benefits, and insurance out the wahzoo.

Pray for our country, folks. If it ever needed it, it does now.

Michael907: Bravo! Bravo!

KFC: I'm looking... looking... ever northward... a ha!

One finger. Without a doubt! LOL!

KKK: Where can I join the campaign? Since Jackie just took the plunge into home ownership, maybe we can run it out of her house?

Now let's see... how would Jackie influence our daily lives if she was president?

One thing's not in dispute. Her running mate wouldn't be Ron Paul... it would be RuPaul!

Just the ticket, don't you think?

Good Morning Ross & BB's!

Where is everybody this morning? It's unusually quiet around here.

Ross, I hope you had an enjoyable visit with your family. Are you enjoying the rainy weather here in southern California? I'm not! On days like this it's so hard to get motivated to do anything.

Hope everyone is having a great tuesday! I'm off to fight with the insurance company. Wish me luck. Arghhhh!

Kim :)

I think the person in the presidential office most definitely affects our everyday lives. Besides making decisions on the policies/laws/etc that affect us, just their being in office affects us. It affects the world's perception of us as Americans.
Being in South Korea as an expat (for a couple years), I get constantly criticized (mostly by ignorant Canadians) for who is in office currently. It's really obnoxious to be forced to defend your country and then make excuses for the complete jack who is in office.

I KNOW why the presidential candidates did NOTHING while in Congress.

Because they were in the SENATE!

ha ha ha ha ha... sorry, I just couldn't resist.

Jamie~ I like Special K too!

Robert .. thanks for coming in and letting us know your results. It sounds like something that you can live with for a very very long time with little ill effects. Best wishes to you.

AliinKorea: There's nothing worse than an ignorant Canadian in Korea! ROFLMAO!

-- editorial note: whabbear is an expat Canadian.

Jamie and Bam Bam......pretty hard on yerself... love the good and loving parts...cause they are there, get rid of the self loathing....prioritize, follow yer heart, read read read....start with basics....I love yer courage...N I love you for trying...Kisses on your sweet lil face Captain Connie WINK

HEY!

Thank you for your concern Connie, I was basically being sarcastic. But thanks.

jamieandbambam I just want to tell you that I know just how your are feeling.

Robert, here's a smile for you!

SeasideLady, did I say something wrong?

Ross, can we do anything to help with 02.22.08? ;-)

Of course the presidents do. I am feeling the effects of the economy right now. The war is still playing a part in my life. I have family overseas serving their country.

I would love to see the President do something for the environment for a change. I would also like to see more acceptance in our society. I would love to see a President represent all people, not just those that have the same beliefs as him and or her.

ugapuppy I guess you ARE
feeling the effects! :) :)

Grams in Maryland no hon, you
did nothing wrong. I'm just
slow sometimes! Answer to
your e-mail on the way. Hope
you are well today!!

The President does affect our daily life, or at least has the ability to. One blog buddy stated "only I can affect my daily life" and that is simply not true. The government makes changes that can affect us either postitivly or negatively. You have the ability to respond however you wish, and deal with the decisions government makes. We all will have governmental changes that we do not agree with but must live according to the law.

Such a serious topic!!

Fellow Blog buddies, who's excited for the awards!!! I know I am!!
2-22-08!!!!

am i the last caller? :D
