TALKY BLOG: hi, Oprah!

November 20, 2007

Happy Tuesday, blog buddies!

We're celebrating Thanksgiving early here at the RossBlog by listing things that we're thankful for!

One of many things I'm grateful for is Oprah's Favorite Things, which I share with you today in today's TALKY BLOG! My favorite part is when the studio audience finds out that it's a Favorite Things episode and their heads almost pop off. Literally, people begin praising Jesus. Truth be told, though, so would I if I were in that audience! :)

Too fun!

Oh, and I've decided I want to be a guest on Oprah. Seriously. It's my new mission. I mean, why not, right?

TROUBLE WITH THE VIDEO? TRY THIS!

First? Hi Blog Buddies, Hi!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I would like audience tickets when you are on Oprah!!

Congrats on first to Pompanopetey.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!
I am thankful for an awesome family, great friends, my health and my happiness (generic, I know)
Love you Ross... Have a great Thanksgiving!!!!!!

NOT thankful for your comment counter...it lies!

I am thankful for home, family, friends, health, my dogs and their health, and YOU...Ross. You are too funny. Loved the white strips demo or when NOT to use them. Too personal? Nope, afterall, we have seen you use the nettie pot. LOL

This sounds silly, but I am thankful everyday for WD-40 spray, because I just cannot stand anything squeeky.

I'm watching Oprah right now!! I swear I told my Mom to Tivo it in case I missed it! Looove it!

BUT..

I am thankful for my wonderful family and great friends who have helped me the past month and a half with a hard breakup that left me with a broken heart. :(

You get Oprah early. I'm also in California but she doesn't come on until 4. I just bought the Oprah 40th anniv. DVD and it is fan-freakin-tastic. You would love it Ross.
Have a good day!

Tell ya the truth Ross, I'm finding little to be thankful at the moment. Pretty down in the dumps. Hopefully when I watch the Talky I'll feel better. Always seems to work before. Maybe that's something to be thankful, huh? Someone like you that always seems to cheer up the worst moods.

I am thankful for the most is everyone that is over in Iraq that is doing what they are doing for us so we can be with our families this holiday season! Also my beautiful daughter, my wonderful job that took me 9 months to find, my parents and my dog!
Everyone have a good Thanksgiving and be safe if you are traveling!

Ross: I am thankful that you care enough to blog every day, eventhough you really don't have to. I'm grateful that you let us see part of your world and Louise.

I am also thankful for this blog, and the people on it who have been so much fun and so nice.

Lastly, I'm thankful that when our old car went kaput--we were able to get a new one without too much fuss. Well, c'mon--that IS something to be thankful for! ;)

Hi Ross,
Hi BB's

A happy guest on Oprah. Clarify the Dream...LOL

the universe needs details.

I cant wait for the favorite things I love it when they find out too the crying the screaming and oprah too. It is the best.
its on in a half hour.

Love ya
Jena

This is my first time posting. Hello blog buddies!!

When they showed the $250 gift card for Taget, the first two things that popped into my head were Ross and 5 dollar fun

I'm thankful for many things: my family and my friends (even though I don't have many friends), my favorite bands, and the Ross Blog. Today is the first time that I've tried and succeeded at commenting, so I probably will more often, but this blog makes me feel good. I love Ross, Daria, and the blog buddies. I've read the comments for awhile now, and I'm so happy that all of you are so nice.

Ross and blog buddies: Thank you for making such a great, friendly place.

Hi Ross and Blog Buddies!
This is my first time posting. I am thankful that I found your blog, which was just recently. I have watched all your talky blogs and I have to say Ross you look FABULOUS! I didn't even recognize you. I loved seeing you on Leno and never knew you did a blog thingy. Anyway, I went to Big Lots today and I saw that coloring book with that ugly bear thingy on the cover and I immediately thought of you and Nicki and $5 fun so that song was in my head the whole time I was there. I hope you get to be on Oprah. I live outside of Chicago and I have been a fan of hers forever. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. See you 'round the blog.

Mystic Tiffy:

"Sunny Side Of The Street"

Grab your coat and get your hat
Leave your worries on the doorstep
Life can be so sweet
On the sunny side of the street

Can't you hear the pitter-pat
And that happy tune is your step
Life can be complete
On the sunny side of the street

I used to walk in the shade with my blues on parade
But I'm not afraid...this rover's crossed over

If I never had a cent
I'd be rich as Rockefeller
Gold dust at my feet
On the sunny side of the street

OK, my co-worker friend just walked by and I told her I was watching your talky and that you were watching Oprah's Favorite Things episode and she said "What's that?"!! She didn't know about Oprah's Favorite Things either!! How?!! Love that show!!

I had just finished watching Oprah's Favorite Things and hopped in the shower to get ready for my date with my Hubby tonight..Anyways, While I was in the shower, I
totally had an epiphany that Ross should be a guest on Oprah! How freaking amazed was I that Ross was thinking the same damn thing I was at practically the same time???

I am sitting here towel drying my hair and watching the new talky blog and Ross says the same thing I was ,in today's blog. As Ross would say at this unbelieveable coincidence, "OMG, SHUT UP!!!" lol.

Ross, I totally hope that you do become a guest on Oprah! Can we start a letter writing campaign or something to help you??? Maybe the audience can be filled with Blog Buddies! How fun would that be?? WOW, I am STILL blown away!

Have a great day everyone...I am off to do my hair and finish getting ready for Date Night :o)! Ciao for now!

There's always more room at the Thanksgiving table.....Welcome Megan, KimTX, Cheryl!

My gratitude list I'll post later. Right now I'm just pumped reading all of yours, and it's almost time for Oprah here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From Area51...
*Diva @12:38~Dang! Sandie's post (which 'jumped' above yours) beat me to the punch. I was going to say the exact same thing.........bring it on!
*Amicus~Loved the cat burglar story! I have a cat that loves to curl up under the warm glow of the lamp on the sofa side table. Had to move my phone from that spot, 'cuz I was always afraid he'd auto-dial 911. :)) Enjoy your long weekend.
Re: Rosie's new blog --Awesome. I especially like the dated photo thumbprints and the absence of Google Ads.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*Melissa the RPM~Gratitude Journals are a wonderful daily ritual. Found a blank book spiral one years ago at Borders (called 'Counting my Blessings' by Artworks). Loved its format so much, I bought 5 more. They make beautiful, thoughtful and thought provoking gifts. I've found there's much to be grateful for every day if you adopt the right mindset. Have to admit I've had days that it's hard to think of something more than "Nothing bad happened today", but sometimes the best things in life are the things that DON'T happen.

I'm thankful for cranberry sauce that keeps the shape of its can and country music!

I'm not going to rush through being thankful for my family and friends. They helped me so much through my treatments and they're at the top of the list each day in my gratitude journal.

I read a study the other day that claims people who are grateful actually sleep better at night. I decided to start a "Journal of Gratitude" today, and it's amazing how much I have written already. The usual God, family, friends, animals, etc. but also books, music, creativity, technology, and so many other things as well. Focusing on your blessings is a healthy thing and I hope that we can all do so more than just once a year. Happy and Safe Thanksgiving to all! :-)

Hi Ross and bloggers! First time for me. Been on LOA from work for awhile and I'm sooo very thankful that I can finally return to work next week! Had double surgeries.:( Ok now :). Thankful for everything good in the world! Your talkies were the highlight of most of my days! THANK YOU!

Hi Ross! Oprah filmed her favorite things show right here where I live, in central Georgia. Go to www.macon.com to see all the Oprah coverage while she was here....

hi ross =]
I know what you mean about Oprah's Favorite things. My little sister and I are always so excited to just watch it. imagine being there in the audience. I'm always a little jealous of them =]

anyway, I'm thankful for my amazing family and my friends who are always there to share laughs and tears. And most of all I'm thankful for just being able to wake up everyday with a reason to smile. Life is great, let's just all be thankful for living =]

Ross, a gal I graduated with in high school just taped an Oprah show Nov. 8th about her losing 300 plus lbs with diet & exercise (no gastric bypass). To make a long story short, since she's 50ish, never had boyfriend (nor sex), now that she's down to 180, she's having an affair with a married guy at the gym she goes to daily! Oprah didn't know this & I'll hate to see it air because O would never allow such a show she's produced. What a shame. At least kharma got her back cause she got hepatitis this summer (from the guy)! Ew! Icky! Yucky!
The guy told her he didn't care about all her extra saggy skin as long as she'd give him a bj. Then O had the plastic surgeon dr on who worked on Kanye West's mother & O was unaware of that mess.
Oprah's staff hasn't been doing their homework.

Reminds me of a blog comment a few days earlier about being aware of holiday scammers. It has also happened on this blog in the past with bloggers feigning illness, etc. so beware. Some bloggers supposedly befriend other bloggers, get their myspace, email, etc, info, then talk badly about them to others.

Which brings me to I'm glad I'm me. I don't need to beg bloggers to comment on my behalf, nor need stragglers holding on to my friendship for dear life just trying to fit in. The abusive bloggers have no desire to hear about their flaws so providing constructive feedback is pointless. Hopefully they're getting therapy & at least can't ever be a parent. Waah-bert. Woe is me.

I'm also thankful that Jeb Bush is considering running for pres in the future, along with his son!! Woohoo Tiger!

Hi everyone: I am thankful for the family, friends, pets, etc. Aside from them I am thankful for the gifts that God gave me, my favorite being music. I love it and would be happy playing it 24/7 if I could.

I'm thankful for the internet as I have met many friends through it and I love email and myspace.

I am thankful that I have my own home to live in with my family.

I'm thankful for the new changes I have seen in my family that are positive (hubby and daughter have many disabilities including Tourette Syndrome). I'm thankful for the medications that do help even if they can't cure.

Have a good rest of the day.

Hiya Ross, Wee-wee & B-Buddies

I am Thankful that YOU are a Joy unto Yourself, and you don't mind showing it to all of us and the rest of the World. I think that's what befriends us most. So, Thank You for being You!!!

We will ALL Pray & Believe that you WILL be on Oprah and she WILL Love You too. It WILL happen, and she WILL be Tickled!

Blessings! ... & Happy ThanksGiving ALL!!!

MissChris in TX & Boopers!

Hi Ross,
I just can't watch Oprah's Favorite Things show cause there's way too much screaming & loudness going on. I enjoy calm. I also no longer watch the Today show for the same reason. Can't hear the hosts speak with all that yelling in the background.

One of the things I am thankful for is YOUR BLOG AND TALKY BLOG....
Today, with white strips was fun.... when u r off the wall, all the better.
So I am thank ful for you!

Hi Ross and blog buddies!
I have a lot to be thankful for....one my family and my beautiful grandson!
But I'm mostly thankful for my mother. She's fighting cancer and every 10 days she goes for Chemo treatments. Her attitude is so positive it makes everyone around her smile! I thank God for giving her the strength to fight this nasty cancer! I am so thankful to have her here during the holidays, and I look forward to many more holidays with her!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
HUGS to all,
Peggy :-)

The beauty of Johnny Depp, the artistry of Meryl Streep, the wisdom of my husband and the pure sweetness and fun of Ross. There are few places where someone is focused so much on the fun of life/people than here...thanks Ross. Oh, read an article/interview about you on Yahoo News; we need to get you on your own talk show soon! hmmm. Oprah could be a start.

Hi Handsome Ross! Hi Daria! Hiya Bloggin Pals! :O)

Great Blog today Ross. Thank you for allowing us the chance
to Give Thanks. I would love to see you as a guest on Oprah.

LOL @ Daria singing. Ross, your teeth are absolutely beautiful
already. You're lucky. LOL @ you putting your white strips on

Besides the obvious & U all?HMM.. welllll I am grateful for a husband that will go back out to Ralph's/ grocery shopping for me (last minute) , when I don't feel like going back to buy something I forgot,at the store earlier...& which is where he is right now & as I am supposedly fixing dinner(London Broil) ,but instead took a quick peek right here for a few !;-) OK,. Happy TG soon to U all!

I am thankful for your humor Ross!AND other BB's too, please Keep it up!! Hugs JoanE~

OOOOOOOPPPS..he is back again must scoot!BYEEE!)

I'm thankful for my almost 20-year love affair!! Best time of our lives. Ooh la la :O)

Ross, I'm thankful that you finally put your foot down & put Whabbear in his place. Well-deserved! Did you see Rosie's new Comment Policy about no vulgarity, offensive, or inappropriate comments allowed on her blog?? Glad you followed suit, my friend.

I'm also so very thankful that today I returned the few Christmas presents purchased for others & have decided not to celebrate the holidays. It's too commercialized, & people are gift hungry. They're also hippocrites when they go to church only on Xmas & Easter, then spend the rest of the year with a bottle & dope.

I am thankful every day of the year & find it absurd that people choose one day of the year(Thanksgiving) to have to be reminded of what God's given to them.

Time to go watch Rocky Raccoon (Avril Lavigne) on DWTS. Avril & Mo must buy their eye liners at the same place (LOL)!~

I'm thankful that the Sox kicked the Yankees' butt once again!! Along with the Pats, Celts, ...

I love Oprah, taped it and will watch later..
I am Thankful for my family
I am Thankful for good books
and
I am Thankful someone from the Bush administration is finally telling the truth.
How about former Bush Press secretary Scott McClellan admitting in his new book..

"The most powerful leader in the world had called upon me to speak on his behalf and help restore credibility he lost amid the failure to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. So I stood at the White house briefing room podium in front of the glare of the klieg lights for the better part of two weeks and publicly exonerated two of the senior-most aides in the White House: Karl Rove and Scooter Libby.

There was one problem. It was not true.

I had unknowingly passed along false information. And five of the highest ranking officials in the administration were involved in my doing so:
Rove, Libby, the vice President, the President’s chief of staff, and the president himself.

Now if only Colon Powell would finally come forward.

Wishing the strike was over Jay would be having a blast.

here is a short list of life's luxuries that I am thankful for. wifi, laptops , wishlists on amazon.com , netflix , cellphones, the ross blog, the rosie blog, boing boing, , flickr, my digital camera and rechargeable batteries, digg, email, instant messaging, menopause, youtube, itunes, the ups man, ipods,.hot tubs, good food and wine..lol oh and dvr!!! Now add that to the essentials I am thankful for, like my husband, children, friends, dogs, a home, health, happiness. lol that was fun!

I am Thankful for My Family and I consider u a big part of my Family.. love u Happy Thanksgiving.... :)

So thankful for (in addition to the fundamental friends, family, health priority #1 blessings):
*Vets and all active military (despite their C.I.F. & his minions), and their families at home without them.
*Public servants (fire, EMS, law enforcement, hospitals) who seldom get to be home for the holidays.
*Retiring from career #2 in October.
*Books and music.
*The Internet: All the time saved for more important things, thanks to Google vs. trips to the library; email vs. snail mail; online shopping vs. circling mall parking lots.
*Trips to the library and the mall and writing real letters by choice sometimes.
*People willing to share of themselves with those in need through no fault of their own.
*Marie Callendar's Grilled Chicken Alfredo Bake.
*Ralph Lauren everything.
*A cozy fire, S.O., Pink Martini cd's,and DeKuyper ButterShots on ice. Purrrrrrrrrr-fect.

Safe travels and good eatin' to all BB's who might be M.I.A. from the blog for a few days. You all bring me great joy~~~~~~~~~~~Thanks!
b @ 6:18pm PST

I forgot,
I am thankful for my Green tea
and Nonni Biscotti.
and after reading all the comments
I am Thankful for Jacny :D

Hi Ross and BB! I'm a few days behind now darn it. So I must catch up and briefly say that I loved yesterday's talky!

Dang Ross, made me want a new car... jealous! OMG, great stereo sound! I was tempted to turn up my speakers cuz it sounded so good! And I loved the scenery of trees that could be seen from your windows and moonroof... and closing with Celine all the way to your garage was classic! Did you time it or had to lengthen out the song?

Now for today's talky: I am thankful for...
- my parents
- my sister and brother in law
- their cat Bamboo
- my friends and bff JS
- my relatives
- my 14 godchildren
- my faith
- the career I have of being able to work with teenagers and help them grow closer to their faith
- my two hamsters, Kruk and Kuip
- friendly Ross BB and BABB
- Ross and Louise
- Daria and the TTS staff
- being able to wake up every day
- living in the bay area
- being 2 minutes away from the marina
- clean air
- good health
- for being alive!

I am thankful for my family - especially my wonderful grandsons.

I am thankful for coffee, chocolate and Paul Newman's Limeade (my latest obsession)

I am thankful for Ross and Rosie's blogs.

Hey Ross&blog buddies! I'm thankful for family, friends, my pets and of course health. But ALSO thankful for ROSS& the chance that i got to meet my idol Megan Mullally this weekend at Young Frankenstein. I can live happy now :)

The frivilous thankfuls: Jimmy John's sandwich #6 with extra avacado. OH MY WHAT A WONDERFUL THING IT IS INDEED! The music of 30 Seconds to Mars (first CD especially)!

The serious thankfuls:
I am thankful for my mom and my grandma and that they are healthy and happy. I am thankful for my health. I am thankful for having my apartment and all the nice things inside it. I am thankful my car is running nicely. I am thankful I have a job within my degree that I like and is exciting and constantly challenging me. I am thankful for my friends the ones in real life and in virtual life. I am thankful I have money in the bank. I am thankful for the pets in my life. I am thankful for being totally secure in who I am and what I stand for. I am thankful for --- well --- my life.

Happy Thanksgiving Ross and everyone here.

Without being corny- let me just say how Thankful I am for SO MANY DIFFERENT THINGS.
My mom has always said "count your blessings, pal" and I do-but I also have a "lite" thankful list which is not full of true blessings like family, friends, health.

My "lite" thankful list consists of things like...the beach, naps, and great sit-coms on TV...and diet pepsi with crushed ice...and when the new puppy tinkles outside...also, strangers who are friendly when I'm out and about shopping....and lately, pumpkin-spice lattes from Starbucks (SORRY ROSS!)... your blog is on my list too though!!!!

Here's hoping each of the blog buddies has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

OMG, I thought I was the only one who jumped up and down and clapped with the audience!! I look forward to this every year! I am thankful for your blog!

THANKSGIVING
This week I am reminded of the true blessings in my life. In the midst of day to day hustle and bustle and chaos and stress, I suppose it takes an official holiday to remember...

~~My Family, pets included of course! Mom, Keith, Sara, Kelleanne, Jordan, Mitts to start off...

~~My Friends: Some of whom I had to let go this year due to their focus on dark and not light. But the ones who are close are just precious.

~~My Health: My body can be healthy strong as long as I just let it and make a conscious effort to avoid the toxins (in many forms).

~~Hmmm what else? Of course, THE ROSS BLOG. Ross must think we're so special to share the normally "private" moments of nettie pots, cuddling with Louise, white strips, singing in the car. And that intimacy, I think, continues to the Blog Buddies who create an awesome place I enjoy visiting!!!

~~Turkey and stuffing and mashed potatoes and gravy and pumpkin pie! And of course the leftovers!!!

Blog On! M.

p.s. JACKNY: I agree with your Thankful List !!!

"What is that...I want it." You are too funny Ross.
Hi Blog Buddies.
My sociology instructor use to refer to Oprah as "The Oprah" because as he said "She is larger than life," just thought I'd share that.
Have a nice evening everyone.

Take me with you to Chicago! I'm sure I can get away from the things I'm thankful for: Son, husband, family, friends, etc.
I'm shallowy thankful for:
Primetime TV shows (Sundays and Thursdays): The Amazing Race, Desperate Housewifes, Brothers and Sisters, Survivor, Ugly Betty,
Daily TV shows: Dr. Phil and Oprah!
Daily blogs: Rosie and Ross
Email
Cell Phone
Cover stick
Holidays = days off!

Hey Ross!!!

I just want to say that I am thankful for you!!! You are SO hot! Not to mention the funniest and nicest person ever!
I am also thankful that the election is coming up so that President Bush is out of office! My mother used the quote that we should support any president in the time of war, when we have soldiers dying for no reason.....I told her that if we have soldiers dying for no reason, it's time for a new president!
Also I am thankful for my son, if it wasn't for him I would be in a worse place right now.
Alright Rossy-Poo I can't wait for your next talkyblog. I love ya and want to get tickets to Opera when you are on it as well....so write my e-mail down and remember me!!!

Emjay:

You wrote

"am thankful for things now being convenient!!!!! Can you imagine having to go out and kill and dress that thanksgiving Turkey!?!?"

OMG! I think that of all the things I'm grateful for, this definitely tops my list: That I just happened to be born into the time when I am able to celebrate Thanksgiving 2007 rather than, say, Thanksgiving 1807!

Have you seen some of those reality shows where people try to live like almost everybody had to even 100 years ago? Harsh, demanding, and always dirty!

Consider all the ingredients that are "necessary" (and we pretty much take for granted) to pull off a typical 2007-style Thanksgiving... the fat, plump turkey that had to be raised and prepared by countless hands in the agriculture industry, the big hunk of delicious pig that will have required even more farming and food distribution labor, all the trimmings and side dishes and desserts and soft drinks and booze that had to be either grown, harvested, fermented, prepared, packaged, or all of the above.

Not to mention all the power needed by our kitchen appliances to cook our feasts and heat our homes; all the water needed for indoor plumbing and washing; all those convenient bins to dispose of all the trash; and so on.

Now imagine doing ALL of that work by yourself and your family, with little or no machine assistance and little or nothing supplied by the nearest store!

Nope. After a salute to the pioneers, I'll take Thanksgiving 2007 anytime!

Ross: ;)

I'll never tell

Delusional, table for one.

and btw, "yo mama!"

For those wondering how Ross watches OPRAH early, he's not getting the L.A. feed. OPRAH comes on the local Mouse channel at 3pm.

Hmmmmm, what am I thankful for? My friends! My friends have been there for me, in some ways more than my own family has. Sad, but true.

Now, for the frivolous things,...

the internet
TARGET
the COFFEE BEAN during the summer
liberals
term limits for the President
Rosie and Ross for keeping it real and being good role models

ok, I'm drawing a blank, nuff said!

Miss u, Whab!

Hi Ross,
HI Blog Buds
HI OPRAH!

GUESS WHAT?
I WENT TO THE OPRAH SHOW!
HOPE YOU GET YOUR CHANCE

HELEN

Hey Ross, I am thankful that my crazy computer let me watch you talky on YouTube today. I have missed ya.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone! Gobble, gobble!

I love Oprah's fav things too. And like you my favorite part is when the audience finds out. I started tearing up watching them get so excited.

My thankfulness....
I am thankful that this semester is almost over! Anatomy class sucks. We started the class with 26 people and today there were only 5 in class. At least I have an A. yea.

I am also thankful for the weekend I just spent with my daughter. The guys went deer hunting (my husband and son) and her and I went to a pj party Friday night, went to have breakfast @ IHOP Sat. morning and went to see a local production of Cinderella Sat afternoon. What a treat to have mom and daughter time. fun. fun.

Oh. I just had a chance to see yesterdays blog and about the bumper stickers...I have things about my kids on my car. You know the things with their names and activities on it. The whole proud parent thing.

Well hope you have a great holiday. We just have to walk next door to my father-in-laws house then drive two streets over to my sisters. Pretty easy day this year. :)

Oh...one more thing. Maybe if you get contacted by Oprah's people about being on her show, see if you can have the audience filled with your blog buddies. Maybe do a blog buddy contest or something to see who gets the chance to go. Could be fun.

Love to you...

Happy Tuesday! I'm thankful for having all my family nearby. I'm also thankful for revolving doors. They're super fun to walk through and they totally made my day today. It's the little things :-P

~Sneakygrl~

Aside from the obvious I gotta be thankful for swiffers..I mean 4real.Also The price is right,my microwave,my Escalade(remote control)lol,Hot pastrami on Rye w/mustard(I'm from NY),when your ears pop and you feel like you were once deaf and it's like omg I can hear now, when you get cool enough w/ everybody at work to pass gas.. LOL.. so now you don't have to hold it forever(sorry-but 4real),also when MOM stops by and does my dishes, the smell of hot dogs in the city,Wow,I can go on forever but ofcourse you ROSS and sharing your days with us.HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and EVERYONE "Be thankful for what you have not things you wish you had" Hugs all around ;)

The organist at Wanda and Beulahs church is Myrna Martin.
This afternoon we paid her a visit. She showed us into her quaint sitting room.
She invited us to have a seat while she prepared tea.
As I sat facing her old Hammond organ, I noticed a cut-glass bowl sitting on top of it.
The bowl was filled with water and in the water floated, of all things, a condom!
When she returned with tea and fixins', we began to chat.
I tryed to stifle my curiosity about the bowl of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better of me and I could no longer resist.
"Miss Myrna", I said, "I wonder if you would tell me about this?" pointing to the bowl.

"Oh, yes," she replied, "isn't it wonderful? I was walking through the Park a couple of years ago and I found this little package on the ground.
The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet, and that it would prevent the spread of disease.
Do you know I haven't had the flu in 2 winters."

Ross,
I think you need to do a "Ross' Favorite Things" blog, and give all the blog buddies one of all your favorites.
Peace and Hugs

Hey Ross...we are starting a weekly podcast here in the Tampa Bay area called Voices of Pride (voicesofpride.net)and I was wondering if you would be interested in doing a phone in interview for one of the podcasts?

I'm thankful for anyone who makes me laugh! And that includes you, Ross!

And, yes Carlos, presidential term limits!!!

Hi Ross, I'm new to your blog. I'm thankful for smiles...and you make me smile so Thanks to you, Ross!!

Hey Ross!
I saw the Oprah audience reaction. I was LMAO...the "praise Jesus" people!!

have you seen the SNL skit where they make fun of that? People are passing out and going into convulsions, etc.

the crest white strips work...you're lucky to get them free!!

Hey ross - be like david letterman and start an Oprah "log". He had everyday in there with things like... Oprah didn't call me today. HAHA!!

night blog buddies!!!

...i'm thankful for God, my health, family, job, home, food, and Johnny Depp. BAHAHAHAHAHA!

Like Ross said, family, friends, health, house, job, etc.... beyond that, I am MOST thankful for TiVo - yes, there I said it! TiVo is THE BEST invention of the 20th / 21st century!!

I am thankful for clean water to drink

Toilets that flush

my sanity

And a bunch of really great friends, which of course includes my pets,

Hi everyone,
I want to thank you for your kind words and prayers. I never imagined so many "strangers" would be so kind and concerned for someone they never met. I am recovering and my neighbor has been gracious enough to walk my dog for me and stay with me for a few days.
I am thankful for my life, my neighbor and now the new friends I have found at Ross blog. Ross, you make me smile and laugh every day. Thank you Mary from CT

Hi everyone....
I'm Thankful that I found you ROSS.. Yes you! You make me SMILE each and every day! I'm thankful for my health, my family... to just be Alive!

Happy Thanksgiving to all you BLOGGERS!!
kisses to Wee-wee xoxoxoxox

1. You Tube
2. QVC - I live in the country
3. Vacation Days
4. My Roomba (I hate vacuming)
5. SPELL CHECK
6. People Magazine Day
7.

Hi Ross! I am grateful and thankful for a roof over my head , two beautiful children(I was told I could not have any), food to eat this Thanksgiving and a family to share it with. I am also grateful for nice people, funny people and for Rosie, Ross and Ant for sharing a part of their lives with the world. Now I don't want to offend you but I have to say I use to love Oprah but now she mostly makes me sad. It is sad to me that people are almost passing out to get material things. I wish her favorite thing show would be giving houses to the homeless, medical coverage to the uninsured, a stocked pantry to the hungry. I am tired of seeing her fawn all over celebrities who pretend to feel for real people and I am tired of watching Oprah pretend to get what it is like for normal people. Anyways, I know she does a lot of good and I know she has earned her life--I just used to think a lot more of her. Hope everyone has a great holiday.

Hmmmm...Hey Blog Buddies. What do ya say...A writing campaign to the Oprah show to get our boy Ross on the show? I already sent in my email...how about everyboy else to the same...and EVERYDAY! :-)

:) haven't heard that one for at least 25 years, Delores!

Hi Ross,

Happy T day to all.
I am thankful for my sons and thier good health. I am also delighted and thankful to hear that our blog buddy Mary, has her neighbor with her, and that she is not alone right now.I am thankful

WHABBEAR: Sending smiles your way.

i just watched your blogs and can omg can u be my new best friend ur awesom!! :)

P.S. The format you've been putting your videos up in for the last five have been perfect. Totally viewable and with the play/pause controls and everything. Sometimes the format you put up isn't viewable even when you go to the "click here" area ...whether it be youtube or myspace.
BUT whatever you've been doing for the last five is perfect. Keep the formula :)
Love to you.

I'm thankful for so many things--everything, really--that it hurts my head to list them all! I just have a very blessed life and I wish the same for all of you Blog Buddies and our friend, Ross.

Delores, you are a trip!

Mary in CT, prayers and hugs for you--so glad you have help. What a kind neighbor.

Hi Wendy

My son also has TS...he does not take meds anymore...he is 20 now. Sometimes when a tic was replaced with another, I would miss the one that went away. It's been frustrating, interesting, heartwarming, heartbreaking and all around a challenge that has created a tolerence in our family, that I am very thankful for. Thanks for reminding me...Happy T Day

I am thankful for you Ross! You cheer me up everyday. I am also thankful for my family, friends, and my health and having pain free days which aren't very often but I will take them. Have an awesome Thanksgiving.

Ross has stated that no inappropriate language be used on this blog.

I'm thankful that I had trouble getting to sleep last night and I got to see Ross at the fashion show. That was fun!

Hi Ross,
I am thankful that I get the chance to come here everyday just to get a laugh or a smile from you and for my husband of 39 years,
my two children
3 grandchildren
my twin sister
my 2 other sisters and 2 brothers
that I don't have to cook this year for Thanksgiving, yahoo
that I was born in the USA
Have a great Thanksgiving everybody

Besides the obvious, my family, I'm thankful for:

- my good health
- ability to stay home while daughters were growing up
- a job that brings me so much joy
- a country with so many freedoms and the servicemembers sacrificing so we may have them
- the roof over my head
- the internet!

aren't you supposed to "dry" your teeth b4 u put the white strips on?
I had professional "trays" made that I used 1 time, 1hr/day w/a jell like substance for 2 weeks...WORKED!!!
My teeth are beautifully white.
I might add...cost nearly $400
You're so lucky to get the Crest White Strips FREE...although, a friend of mine used them...kinda worked...but didn't last...
her teeth are once again coffee-stained.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Lets all go to the oprah site and request that Ross be a guest on the show!!! He would make a great guest on Oprah!!

Hey Ross!

Like you, I am of course, thankful for my family and friends. My wonderful "fur baby" doggy Dion. Thankful that my Dad is still active at 82 and most days has more energy then me! I am thankful I have a job (though it stresses me out daily!)
Thankful that I have been lucky enough to go to Vegas every year to see my FAVE singer, CELINE (loved yesterdays talky blog Ross!! LOL) That brings me to Ross's talky blogs, THANKFUL for them, always bringing a laugh and a smile to my face. Thankful for the super great guy that Ross is, for all the blog buddies, all my internet friends! I am truly thankful for so much and I could go on and on, but don't want to write a "book."

Wishing Ross and all the blog buddies a wonderful, safe and very HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Whabbear:
My thoughts were similar to yours when I read Emjay's words.
I'm thankful for everyone who helps me get the glorious Thanksgiving dinner on the table...the farmers, the truckdrivers, the grocers, the electricians who keep the power flowing. I'm also thankful to the trash collectors who make the clean up easier.
Many of our modern day conveniences (the microwave being one) have come from work done by the military or by NASA.
So thanks to everyone who works behind the scenes to make all of our lives better.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Afew of my thankful joys:

Each morning is a brand new start.
Hub's clean bill of health yesterday.
Cool sheets on hot Summer nights.
Living beneath our means which enables us to help others.
Our garbage man.
My sons 'growed up good' in spite of me.We do try to put the fun in dysFUNction.
Lynn D.,Goldie & many others who make that extra effort to help others..the homeless, our military etc. :-)

Sandie,Amicus,KFC& D.Crump: I thank you all for the outloud rightous laughs yesterday!Good gawd,I giggled all evening.You too,Tina~in ut :)

ROSS: I am ever so thankful for the loving heart of YOU & this blog & the great peeps here.THANK YOU!

Well all, time to breathe deep and look for the fun and positive...right? Whew, holidays get me. Last night my 11 yo dd and I played, she gave me a violin concert, I gave her lots of reasons to laugh, we made our version of Thanksgiving Dinner (Tofurky..she loves it) and watched the newly released Hairspray, her favorite movie ever. Then she had her pre holiday having divorced parents meltdown, then we had a tickle fest and off to bed. Like I said..phew. Still figuring out how to take life on life's terms. (HOW= Honestly, Openness, Willingness).

I alreadly listed my gratitudes, right now I'm loving the sound of wood burning, knowing I am in the hearts of good friends, npr, strong coffee, sun coming up onto white white cold snow, my urban chickens, being out of the consumeristic all consuming world, a good book, three great clients today, the warm boots the universe scored for my kiddo...but now I begin to go on.

Know what I'm really grateful for? Gratitude and connections.

Peace and Jill, I get it and agree. Glad for all she does, and try to focus on that.

Beauty in the heart and sould to all of you bloggers.

Peace.....Love (=]-->---

Peace: I agree with what you said about Oprah.

Whabbear: I am also thankful for you & huz...just cuz :)
I always enjoy the Q.& A's. with Millie.

Delly: My sister will be hosting 2 Marines at our dinner too. Being in their presence makes me especially grateful for what they do.
I hope that everyone who doesn't get to have the pleasure of dining with soldiers tomorrow will include them in grace.

Whabbear
and
Millie:

There are people in this country who work hard every day
Not for fame or fortune do they strive
But the fruits of their labor are worth more than their pay
And it's time a few of them were recognized

Hello Detroit auto workers, let me thank you for your time
You work a forty hour week for a livin', just to send it on down the line
Hello Pittsburgh steel mill workers, let me thank you for your time
You work a forty hour week for a livin', just to send it on down the line

This is for the one who swings the hammer, driving home the nail
Or the one behind the counter, ringing up the sale
Or the one who fights the fires, the one who brings the mail
For everyone who works behind the scenes

You can see them every morning in the factories and the fields
In the city streets and the quiet country towns
Working together like spokes inside a wheel
They keep this country turning around

Hello Kansas wheat field farmer, let me thank you for your time
You work a forty hour week for a livin', just to send it on down the line
Hello West Virginia coal miner, let me thank you for your time
You work a forty hour week for a livin', just to send it on down the line

This is for the one who drives the big rig, up and down the road
Or the one out in the warehouse, bringing in the load
Or the waitress, the mechanic, the policeman on patrol
For everyone who works behind the scenes

With a spirit you can't replace with no machine
Hello America let me thank you for your time

Helen:yeaaa for you all!I know you will all have a wonderful day.We always insist they give a call home so I can tell the moms how much we enjoy their 'children'
& how proud we are of em.The moms get tears, the dads start blubbering...maybe we should quit that part huh?

I must get out in that kitchen & get busy, peace & love to you,Helen.

Alex: hi & happy Thanksgiving.

All BB's HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I am now really leaving puter, must get busy, yes that's the ticket.
:)

mercynow: Connections seem to be what we're all seeking. It's sad that so many people seem to think that they have to impress others with material things in order to be worthy of connecting with them.

I think that Oprah sends mixed messages. One day she's for being authentic and altruistic. The next day she's glorifying the mansions of movie stars (including her own).

I've often wondered why Oprah features the designers of expensive clothes on her show. The people who can afford those clothes already know where to get them. The rest of the audience is left to feel deprived because they don't have them.

Like Peace, I'd like to see Oprah do a needs assessment before bestowing. In fact, I often think that if every movie star in this country combined their bank accounts, they could help a whole of people. Instead, they keep the bulk of their money (even when they lend their name to causes) and ask everyone else to fund charities.

I'm very thankful for your post this morning mercynow. It shows me that there are still people who haven't been consumed by materialism. You seem to be on the path to true happiness.

Thanks for connecting with your message.

I am thankful that my new baby chihuahua puppy arrives today.
Yahoo my own little wee wee Ross!!!

I started so many times to say what I was thankful for but erased it. There was too many things- I guess I am most thankful to have people who love me, people I love, great friend- in the flesh and in cyber world - for food on table, for the unconditional love of my furbaby Pepper and for chocolate and chapstick.

And I know this goes against everything we are supposed to know and follow- BUT

remember:
> >> "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
> >> arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but
> >> rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in
> >> the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and
> >> screaming, "WOO HOO, What a Ride!"

Happy Thanksgiving blog buddies. I hope you all have a wonderful day no matter where you are or who you are with. You have certainly helped enrich my life in some ways, so I am thankful for every kind, funny soul on here. And a few naughty ones too!!!

Elaine: Agree... what a great post from mercynow this morning! mercynow, you managed to capture so many facets of life and living in just a few sentences!

Millie and Alex: There are so many who believe that the modern world is taking us down dangerous, detrimental, even destructive paths, but I'm not one of them.

I believe, by contrast, that our increasingly interconnected economic systems, industrial complexes, health care systems, and the like, make our lives better.

So on this Thanksgiving, I'm grateful that the arrow of time seems to point in the right direction!

Delly and Goldie: I'm also grateful to all the regular posters on the Ross Blog! What fun we have, every day!

Hi, 'teers! :| :) :D

Hi, BABBs!

Hi, Mugsy! Welcome to the world of chat!

I thought it was strange when Oprah turned away kids who had walked miles to apply to her school in Africa. Oprah has the money. Why didn't she build a school big enough to accommodate all who wanted to attend? Or build several?

goldie
too much Chardonnay and chocolate and you may be skidding into the grave before your body is thoroughly used up and totally worn out :D

Tomorrow is a day for indulging though, so have fun!

i am thankful for ross
and his talky blogs :D
they always make me smile.

but what i am most thankful for
(besides friends&family...)
are the jonas brothers.
they made such a wonderful change in my life,
and i'm thankful for them every single day.

ross,
it would make my life
if you listened to the jonas brothers
on one of you're talky blogs.
they are amazing
and i'm positive you will love them:)

Lynn D: LOL! It is easy to overlook the fact that our prepared grocery store food used to be alive, isn't it!!

But don't worry... we'll collect bail money for you!

I'm thankful for all that technology has given us, but I'll be more thankful when it's no longer used to hurt kids.

I'm thankful that I lived in the 60's and still have some of that idealism left.

I'm thankful that I have what I have and embarrassed because in the 60's, materialism was the worst thing you could have.

I'm thankful that I live in America. I hope we can change direction a year from January (if not sooner).

I'm thankful that I somehow found the perfect person for me, only in part because I was pretty old when I found him.

I'm thankful I got to spend my best friend's last months with him.

I'm thankful we have five wonderful pussy cats, even though I bitch about having so many sometimes.

I'm thankful for the simple pleasures, including Ross and his amazing blog (and blog buddies).

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Katie

I'd like to see how much that adds up to....all of the bank accounts of all of the celebrities in this country. And how often do they work?

I've noticed that when Oprah is showing clothes or furniture etc, she'll make comments like...."Only $400. for those shoes. Wow!" Like that's a bargain!?!
She makes everyone (especially teens) think that it's normal to pay such high prices so kids get greedy.
The next thing you know, Oprah's having shows on how to get out of debt.
A few days later, she's back to showing us the luxury loot.
Seems that Oprah isn't sure about her own values. Kind of scary that she's a guru when she's so schizophrenic.

Good Morning Ross and Blog Buddies!

What am I Thankful for? I have been really thinking about this the last few weeks. What really hit me, you know like a light bulb moment? Is that I am so Thankful to have been born a woman in the USA. Think about it. I am so lucky! Even with all of lifes ups and downs nothing compares.

Of course I am Thankful for my family and friends and all of the wonderful people I have met in the last year on this blog! I started a list and realized I did not want to leave anyone out! So Turkey Hugs to everyone!

Now people I have a dilemma. I was driving home from the post office the day before yesterday and realized the people at the end of my road have a huge Tom Turkey wandering in their yard! Do you think they are going to have him for Thanksgiving?

I am so worried which is weird as I am having a Turkey but I bought it all ready to go at the grocery store. Something about seeing Tom in all his glory makes me want to sneak out in the dead of night and rescue this Turkey! I know crazy huh? I am really restaining myself from becoming a Turkey rustler.

If you don't here from me in the next few days I may be in jail.

Wishing everyone a Fantastic Thanksgiving!

I am thankful that I am not the only one out there today putting off the kitchen work.!

Although someone else takes credit for it, the Internet was a military development.

WHABBEAR: I tell my family I won't eat veal or lamb because they are baby animals. My cousin just looks at me and then says "What about Papa cow? Mama pig? Don't you care about them?" It sure is hard to eat a bacon cheeseburger after that discussion! ;)

LynnD: Did you knock on the door and ask your neighbors if they had honorable intentions for ol'Tom?? ;)

Sandie & Delly: If I didn't have a dentist appointment, I wouldn't leave either!

Lynn D. Save the turkey, save the turkey! LOL

Your story reminded me of when we first moved to GA three years ago from "up north." We were visiting a nearby park and saw a deer, a fox, a turkey and a bobcat. I thought we'd moved to Jurassic Park!

Lynn D: Kidnap that dang bird,I have bail money for ya!Be careful..they can be mean & very noisy :)

Delly, weren't you going to go get busy? haha! I'm just saying that because I'm supposed to be doing the same and I'm still sitting here . . .!! Have a good day!

I always cry watching that show! It just warms my heart. Yes I think we should all send emails to Oprah to get you on her show! You would be the perfect guest!
I am thankful for my daughter.
I am thankful for my puppies.
I am thankful for my friends
I am thankful for my Mom!
I am thankful that we will have a new president very soon!
I am thankful for being alive.
xo,
janine in Bellevue, WA

Sandie:LOL,I know, what the heck is that about? I did afew little things but the blog keeps calling me back.Okay, now let's get busy...talk to ya in what, say 20 min. or so? :)
I am so enjoying peeps remarks today.

2) Chocolate Anything
3) Ross the Intern segments on The Tonight Show
4) Reality TV
5) The Office
6) Game Shows

Hey Ross - you already know that dreams really do come true - so keep dreamin!! You'll meet Oprah - it's gonna happen. We'll all be rootin for ya - woo hoo!!

So much to be grateful for - my list is endless. I'm most thankful for those life altering events that help put things into perspective and remind me that every day is a gift. I appreciate the sunshine that warms me, the laughter of children, the blessing of the love I receive from those nearest and dearest and the old and new friendships that make my life joyful.

Good Morning Blog Buddies -
I am busy putting up my Christmas decorations but I wanted to wish all my American friends a very Happy Thanksgiving. Stay safe.
Love, Tinka

It's interesting that Oprah says she endorses the message of Dove, which says that everyone is beautiful regardless of their features and shape. Then she caves and does programs about plastic surgery.
Truth be told, many girls probably feel inadequate because of some of the shows Oprah has done.

"Good Mornin'. Good Mornin'.
We've talked the whole night through.
Good Mornin'. Good Mornin' to you."

(from Singin' in the Rain)

Gosh, I love you guys! and Ross for 'introducing' us. So much to do today, but can't do it before checking in with you guys, first. I just came in from the dentist (you too, *Zona?), but as I go about my day I have to add to my "thankful for" list:

*mercynow ~ love the "live simply so that others may simply live" attitude. You truly seem to have your priorities together. love you, new-found sis!

*Sandie, Delly, LynnD,Whab et al ~ Reading your posts, I always feel as if I'm listening in on a small town party line phone-------and I refuse to hang up, it's too much fun!

*Alex ~ addicted to your lyrics. So far, there's only been one I don't immediately sing along to as I know them by heart after 3 words....always so to-the-point. Keep it up as long as Ross lets ya.

*JacNY ~ I adore and send lots of Jacquie Lawson cards. My favorite is "Sea to Shining Sea"(patriotic), and for birthdays the "One Minute Cake" and the new "Fairy Cake". If anyone wants to check 'em out, you can, through JacNY's link.

so many more of you that I've come to appreciate, but don't want to be a blog-hog here, so please just know how thankful I am for the ensights you bring me.

Gotta go, but I'll see ya in the kitchen :)) I'm sure I'll be 'refreshing' the posts all day. Yay!!! Tonight's our traditional 'Home for the Holidays' viewing party. (Don't forget it's also on SHO tomorrow)
b @ 10:45PST

My first grade daughter brought home a list compiled by her teacher of what the kids thought turkeys are thinking at this time of year. It was called:

A Turkeys Point Of View

"I'm going on vacation until December."

"Chicken tastes good."

"It's hot as an oven in here."

"That burns me up!"

"It's not polite to sit on the table."

"I don't want to sit next to mashed potatoes."

"No gravy for me thank you."

"I'm allergic to cranberries."

:)

HEY WHAB!!! Loks like we're playing "Leap Frog" in the comments section! I thought of you yesterday in the Faculty Meeting when the principal had us checking out Nasa sites on the internet!

I have been reading the blog faithfully but haven't been taking the time to read and leave a comment.

I'm not really here (don't tell Delly you saw me)--I'm cleaning. Just wanted to say "awww, thank you!" to bon'oregon for her sweet comment.

And SacBarb, I completely agree with your comment to I'll Never Tell!

I am MOST thankful for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and for what He did for me on the cross.
I am VERY thankful for my wonderful husband of 37 years and my son and daughter and my 3 year old grandaughter and 5 month old grandson.
I am VERY thankful for all of my family and friends and for my health.
I am WONDERFULLY thankful that my husband and myself were able to retire early and are enjoying retirement and being able to travel the United States and Canada and also be able to be with our grandchildren so much.
I am thankful for my church.
I am thankful for living in the United State and being able to worship as I choose.
I am thankful for food especially chocolate and ice cream!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!

Elaine, Chloe, and Shea, I have to say I agree with all of you, Oprah is a very giving person but I always get the impression that she wants to let everyone know how rich she is, I always feel inferior to her. I don't consider her a god and I wouldn't bow to her like so many of her guests do.

Hello Ross and Blooggers. I have been gone for a few days because my computer died and I finally had to get a new one. I asked Sharon the Chaperone to post a comment to you all that I would be MIA until I got it all figured out. So I am happy to be back.

I haven't caught up on the past days' comments but I have read all the things that you all are thankful for and I agree with all of them

I am most thankful for:
~My Faith
~My big Italian family
~Friends including all the cyber friends I have made here especially the BABBs
~My new computer and having the means with which to buy it
~Things that keep me going every day
~I am also thankful that my DIL is cooking tomorrow so I won't be cooking for the first time EVER on Thanksgiving. YAY!!!

And a special note to I"ll Never Tell: I don't believe that we have Thanksgiving day as the one day to count our blessings, but just to celebrate, as a Nation, our blessings on a grand scale. I believe tht most people are aware every day of the things to be thankful for and are thankful every day. JMHO

Happy Thanksgiving

Barb

Okay, first things first.

Could anyone watch Ross putting on his whitning strips without doing your mouth that way?
Not me!

Okay, I have an AWSOME thing to be THANKFUL for... My hubby comes home from sea today! Out on a submarine for the last three months. Could Uncle Sam do any better with his timing? The day before Thanksgiving???

I think Not!
Yay! He just pulled up the river so I can say it now. No longer a secret...Just waiting on that phone call and He's home!!

ThankFULL ...that's me!

...and for all of you too. :)

I've gotta say...

You Canadian bloggers sure do represent well. I love how you support us in our celebration of Thanksgiving with some of the cutest comments.

It sure does make me appreciate our neighbors to the north. Or should I say... You sure make me Thankful

:)

You are such a sweet man I just love to listen to you. I am thankful that Rosie helped me find your blog. I wish great things for you. I wounder how come you don't mention being thankful for losing and keeping the weight off. You look so good an I know you feel good also. I am more focused on your weight then you are. Maybe because I strugglr daily with the weight issue. I would love to go on the biggest loser and you could be my coach. Anyway enjoy your holiday and find a great bargin when shopping.love you big d

I hate when people have negative things to say about Oprah. She can do whaetever she wants with her money and she's doing more posiitve with her shows than some of the trash that's on tv now. But everybody's got to have their opinion. Guess it's what makes the world go round.

On The View yesterday, Alan Alda said he was a hypocrite because he doesn't want to kill fish, but he wants to eat fish, so he just kind of doesn't think about somebody else killing them before he eats them.

When badly thought out comments happen to good people

Why do some people continuously show contempt for people who have worked hard, achieved a high level of success, and in some cases, wealth and financial security?
It is just something I have never understood
We know, for example, that success in the entertainment industry pays high dividends.
If these people, who give many charitable causes a face, who give generously of themselves and their fortunes, give it all away, there goes the funds needed to generate more cash so that the astronomical donations of time and money that celebrities make can continue.

Is any of this ringing a bell?

My beef with Oprah is that she makes a big deal out of congratulating single celebrities who are having babies without marrying the fathers...just the kind of role models we need now.

Delores: Do they have to jet between mansions with heated pools to generate funds?

Maxine

Not to generate funds. That takes funds. Personal funds.

There are perks to being wealthy.....but you didn't know that did you?

I never cared for sour grapes. How are yours tasting?

Sandie: BUSTED!I ditto ty to sweet bon-bon!

So much to do & so many other things to distract me.

Susan : I loved turkey thoughts,ty! :)

1downmama: give him a big ol hug from me!

I Believe - that credentials on the wall do not make you a decent & honorable human being.

Delores: Warren Buffett seems to think that there are better uses for money than pampering the rich.

By the way, you sound like you may have a few coins in the piggy bank yourself.

Maxine

I am a leader, not a follower, so what Warren thinks is of no consequence to me.

And btw, heated pools can't fly!

OK....I am also thankful for maxine's sense of humor!

The frosting on my cake is this:
*picking my cat up after a long day at work and hearing him PURRR and "hug" me
*my laptop w/ hi-speed internet
*milky way candy bars
*birthday cake
*Reading the Ross Blog daily...
Of course I am very thankful for all the traditional things; the love of my fiance, my friends and family, my health, yadda yadda, yadda, but sometimes its good to think of the things that make us guilty happy.

What am I grateful for? Hummm, well, I am grateful for Golden Corral being opened today so that I can get my Thanksgiving meal today ($11.00) for one was kinda steep for me and I only had one plate of food & 2 pieces of cake but soooo glad it was open anyway. I am also very very grateful that I don't work at Wallyworld anymore and ESPECIALLY during the holidays, it's just crazy insane those days. I was grateful that the movie theater was open and got to see Mr. Magorium's wonder Emporium w/buttered popcorn and coke. I am not being selfish I just don't have family here to be with so that's why I am grateful for those things. OH!!! and for Miracle on 34th is on right now yippeeee. heh heh heh.
THANK YOU TROOPS, WISH YOU WERE ALL HOME.........

Darn it!!! so sorry to take up so much room.....BUT I just found the coolest gadget that was advertised on tv. It is a musical toothbrush!!! My roommate said, "I want one!!" (I secretly do too, lol) So just for him I hunted the Walmart isles and shazzzaaaaam there they were. Oh and they are electric 2!!!

You asked for the icing on the cupcake that is life so here it is...

I'm thankful that my husband took the dog out this morning and then closed the bedroom door so that I could sleep till almost 9 a.m.!!!
