Happy Sunday, blog buddies!

As I type this, I'm sitting in the Las Vegas airport awaiting my morning flight back to LA and back to my lil' house to curl up with my lil' doggie and spend the rest of my Sunday watching a lil' football.

I seriously cannot wait. Football is tied for my #1 sport with women's figure skating and I spend every Sunday during football season glued to my TV watching any game that's on. Of course, if there's a Seattle Seahawks game on (which happens rarely in LA), you'd better not disturb me. My brother and I spend nearly the entire game on the phone either cheering on our beloved 'Hawks or swearing like sailors at their multiple mistakes.

We both used to watch Seahawks games every Sunday with my dad, so football holds a special and nostalgic place in my heart. Plus they're totally absolutely thrilling and really bring out the "man" in me.

In honor of the first official weekend of regular season, today's TOPIC OF THE DAY is...

Football. Or whatever is YOUR favorite sport. And why?

In other news...

I was just in Las Vegas for a quick lil' trip to do some work with a new website called SodaHead.com. Click HERE to check it out - it's a really cool site that's kinda like MySpace (in that you can create a profile and interact with other users), but it's all about opinions and discussion. I love it! You'll be able to see the video we shot soon... I'll let you know!

UPDATE!!! SodaHead.com just posted THIS video of me asking a bunch of celebs what they think of the fued between rappers Kanye West and Fifty Cent (both of whom have albums coming out this Tuesday)! Check it out!

Oh! And I got to meet a TON of celebrities. They promised they'd send me some pictures and as soon I they do I'll post them here for y'all to see.

After that, I went to a super-duper fancy club here called TAO and got hooked up by my super-duper important friend Mike (who works there). He even put us in the section where the real celebs get to go! And guess who I saw. Guess. You'll never guess!

I saw... Brittney Spears herself.

She looked like she was having a great time and I'm guessing she's totally prepared for her big performance at the Video Music Awards tonight, otherwise she would have been at home resting or practicing.

I can't wait to see it!

Hi everyone.

As some of you already know, I’ve been away visiting my father. He is in the hospital and is dying from cancer that has spread throughout his body. I also lost a very close mentor this week from lung cancer, as well as one of my favorite aunts. It has been a very trying two weeks. Two people I love very much are gone, although I know their spirits are with me, and my father is dying. I’m going through a tough time, but I know I’ll pull through somehow.

Since I did not take my laptop with me, I am just now catching up on what has happened while I was away. May I just say that I am so angry that someone could pretend to have cancer and be close to death (Steph, Flower’s mom) when I am watching someone I love dearly dying from it!! I was one of the people duped by this person. I wrote words of encouragement to her and prayed for her recovery.

I guess I just learned another life lesson. I can’t help it…I care about people and want to believe what they tell me. I guess I’m gullible.

I'm totally a baseball fan and cheer for the Cubs! Going to a game tomorrow. I hope they can go all the way!! Have a safe trip home. Love the blog.

I will be watching the VMA's with the "change the channel" attitude. That is when you don't know if you can watch (like a scary movie). Hi Ross! I think it's so funny that football and figure skating are tied for number 1 in your book. Talk about opposites! I have recently gotten into football, and being from D.C. Did you see that LSU's band honored Virginia Tech? During the coverage they said that because Va Tech students had come down to volunteer after Katrina, they were going to name one of the rebuilt houses the Virginia Tech house. Nice.

Drat! Mispelled my name again in the previous post!

Ross: We had this one hysterical moment (well, actually, there were a few, but...) at about 11 PM, my next door neighbor's party was getting kinda loud too, and the two parties sort of merged for a brief period. My neighbor's name is Mary, and she brought her dog Pickles into my place. Well, Pickles is about the same size as Louise, kind of looks like Louise, but with one very noticeable difference. So Mary the neighbor took Pickles in her arms, held her up to Auntie Mame's video camera so the chatters could see, and pronounced her "Black Louise".

We just howled... :)

My favorite sport is baseball. My favorite team is...drum roll please...the New York Yankees! Love the Yankees. Being from New York I have always loved them although I do have a good amount of friends who are Red Sox fans. It's all good fun. Deep down we all know who the best team is!!!

Also anxiously awaiting the Seahawks game today! Ross, have you heard about the cool Jones Soda deal at Qwest? Our own little local company beat out the "big two" for stadium rights this year. Not only are players' pics on the bottles, but cameras will shoot fans at the games and then you can order product with your OWN photo on the label. How cool is that?? My son is going to the game today with dad and I'm hoping we'll be able to get some. They said on the news last night that something like 9 other teams have already approached them for the same deal but they want to make sure they "take care of the home team" the first year. I love it when David beats Goliath! Huskies and Cougs both won yesterday too, so hoping for a trifecta today :)

Ross-- Have you ever gone and watched like Stars on Ice? I became obsessed with Katarina Gordeeva especially after her husband died.. I was so devastated for her. Well Stars on Ice came here to MSU and I got 2nd row seats and she was there with Kristi Yamaguchi and Scott Hamilton whom I adore! It was one of the highlights for me because she was so close to me. This was about a year after husband died.

I grew up around baseball, so it's my favorite sport to watch. When I was like 3 I took naps in the dug out of my brother's little league team.

ahhhh football. the only sport i enjoy and there is only one team i LOVE!! sorry ross ..love ya much but I was born and raised a Pittsburgh Steelers fan! I am VERY emotional, cried when the superbowl was done, PO'd at bad calls by the refs.. my kids know to just "stay away from momma" or at least be quiet LOL... have a safe trip home

I don't watch sports but my son is up in Cleveland at the Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers game. He's a Browns fan. I keep telling him why do you go there and spend alot of money for a ticket to see the Browns lose.

I don't even understand football. I know the teams have to get to the end of the field to get a touchdown and score.

How do we know it's you when you post here??? You know there's problems. I hope NBC can get the "kinks" worked out soon.

My favorite sport to watch Olympics Gymnastics!!! Love them they make me nostalgic for the old days when I was a kid and the Olympics would be on all day. I would stop everything I was doing and lay on the livingroom floor and be in awe of the gymnasts!

So..sports..gotta say that although football is exciting (during playoffs)..the most excited and emotional I've ever been watching any sport had to be when the Canadian Women's Hockey Team won GOLD at the Torino Olympics. Sticks were flying...they piled on their amazing goalie (good thing she was heavily padded)...as they celebrated the hard fought and well deserved win! It's absolutely the most fantastic thing to see. Goin for the GOLD in 2010!!! WOO HOO!!!

If you must have your craving, try Lean Cuisine Pepperoni Pizza single serving, and get a packet of ranch from somewhere..sometimes you can find them on the salad bars. I do that instead of getting a whole jar. And just use 1/2 of it and save the other 1/2 for later.

That'll take that craving right away! And probably make you go..hmm that did it!

I became a baseball fan about 3 years ago .... After they won the World Series.

My husband for Christmas one year gave me tickets for:

MotorCross Racing (YUCK)
Ice Hockey(too fast & furious)
Lakers Game (too expen$ive)
Angels Game (WONDERFUL!)
Airlines tix to Italy

Well ... The Italy trip was Fabulous.

Of the sports, I fell in love with Angels Stadium and want to live there now! Just give me a couple of the luxury boxes behind home plate and let me turn them into a condo and I'll be fat, fun AND happy!! It just makes me happy being in the stadium.

We drive 2 hours every Sunday they play at home to see them play. Win or lose, I love My Angels!

Anyway ... Have a safe and fun trip home from Vega$$$$$.

I was just there 2 weeks ago. LOVE IT!!

Off to Paris this Thursday for my 50th berfday! YIPPEE for meeeeeeeeeeee!!

My favorite sport to participate in is gymnastics. It is also my favorite to watch.

As for football, I am a Denver Broncos fan. It is much more fun to be a Broncos fan when you live in Colorado then when you live in San Diego though.

Now, as I have posted several times before, we are crazy about football in our house! My son, Eli & I are watching the Washington Redskins vs. the Miami Dolphins as I type this. Later we will watch the San Diego Chargers vs. the Chicago Bears. Then, we finally watch the game of the day....the Dallas Cowboys vs. the New York Giants!

Once again last night's CHATROOM was the best.

It was one of those times where you laugh from your belly and I needed a good belly laugh.

Whabby you are now my dream vacation.

I love football, too, Ross! In high school I would get up and watch Pregame and eat cold, leftover pizza (we always had pizza on friday nights). Then, I'd usually watch the NFC games, but I'd go back and forth. I was a huge Bucs fan, but I'm not so much anymore. I've become a pretty big Seahawks fan, so I think it's kind of fun that they're starting off the season playing the Bucs!

Also, we were lucky living near Spokane because we got all the Seahawks games that FOX carried. Fortunately, I emailed the station manager here in Boise and he said they air as many Seahawk games as they can, so I'm thrilled!

I also agree with Chantel, why aren't you a Mariners fan? :P Maybe because they start doing well and then blow it. LOL.

I just watched yesterdays blog with you trying to clear your sinus's and almost wet my pants laughing so hard!! I am still crying from laughing to much!!!

Why not try reversing the order and pouring the warm water into the other nostril?

Or .... Time to call Redi-Rooter for the blockage??!! LOL!!

I also suffer from sinus problems. There is a procedure where they insert a balloon type contraption up your nasal passage and inflate it. I tried it once, but couldn't let them stuff the balloon up my nose, so I whimped out.

Try boiling water over the stove and wrap a towel around your head and lean into the steam taking many deep breathes. It does help. A heck of a lot easier than that netti-type-potty thing you were trying to use! Also, they sell a saline nasal spray at your pharmacy which is much easier to use and non addictive as it is only sea water or sea salt & water.

Sinus or allergy pills also put me to sleep.

Oh well ... The joys of living in Southern California!

Football is AWESOME! It's the part of Fall that I just LOVE...even if I am not watching it (even though my husband always has it on) I love just hearing it from the other room if I am busy doing something.

We went to the Husky football game yesterday - have season tickets...love sitting OUTSIDE in the beautiful weather & watching football...love college football! They won, too...even better. :)

I have had a crappy week. Our daughter is in hospital again (she'll be nine on Friday). I am home for a bit with the other kids. Hubby is up there with her. I won't be around here much this week. You all behave and think positive thoughts for my daughter to be home by Friday.

She also has a twin sister who would love to not celebrate the big day in the hospital again (as they did last year). Sigh! It is hard, but we manage. She has been sick her whole life, and this is just another "bump" in our road.

I would post her caringbridge site, but it seems too private for such a public forum.

Thanks for listening...as for the topic of the day: I love football, both my son's team (he's 11) and the Viking's. I also love hockey as my son is the best goalie in the world (in my eyes).

College Basketball use to be my fav..not so much anymore.
Some of the antics of the players has kind of ruined it for me. They are a new brood of self indulgent jocks.
As for football. I'm of course a Vikings fan..Miss the old
Purple people eaters from the past.
But.. I do love the Colts, love my Tony Dungy and Payton Manning is awesome.
I would have a hard time rooting against them if they played the Vikes..

First of all, Rhonda I am sorry to hear about your Father, I will say a prayer for him and you.
Ross, I used to be so into football, the Packers, I am from Wisconsin, but the past couple of years I lost interest for some reason. I think maybe because my husband goes nuts during the games and I couldn't take it anymore, he has to sit in his recliner, rocker and he rocks like nuts through the game, a few years back he rocked so hard he broke the springs and that was a Lazy Boy so it took some hard rocking to snap the spring but he did it.
Isn't technology something else that you can sit in an airport and let us know where you are etc, it still amazes me to this day.

But, Barbara in WA: It was amazing... none of us had ever met before, but our involvement in this online community immediately provided that shared frame of reference that make for good times and good conversation when friends get together.

Case in point: the "OM"s you've been seeing here today from East Bay J. That came from us discussing the poster from a couple of days ago who was concerned that "OMG" is taking the lord's name in vain. So, we all decided to drop the "G" and just say Oh, My (OM)! LOL!

iteach: LOL with you too! It was so awesome that everybody in chat was able to participate in the party! A virtual as well as an actual event, courtesy of 21st century technology!

And, Ross, if I had to single out one person who was the greatest hit at the party (aside from Mikey aka Rossy Horror, of course), it would be: Jackie! The bloggers just LOVED her twisted song parodies, and we laughed and laughed at "Pooh on Me Later", "Top of a Girl", "I Couldn't Eat Her" etc. etc.

Elephants, & Tigers go my place. The Circus has been in town & they move the Animals to do a show.
I feel so bad cause they look so sad & depressed. The Elephants walk in a line holding on to the tail of the Elephant in front of them.
The sad thing is that they are so quiet. The Tigers live in those small cages & I can hear them make a cry like sound at night.
I haven't been to the Circus in years & I never plan to go again..

I lovelovelove hockey! Took a vacation a coupla weeks back and spent some time in Niagara Falls, Canada (gorgeous!) and then on to Toronto. It was SO fun, and I got to go to the hockey hall of fame. :)

I grew up with my Dad hogging our one TV during football season so for many years i didn't like football. My Dad played football in HS.My Dad also gets on the phone with his sister and they chat before, during and after any of the WVA football games. I was invited to go to see the Dallas Cowboys when they won the Super Bowl. The guy who invited me would come over to my parents home to meet me for our Sunday afternoon dates and the dates seemed more between him and my Dad because my ex boyfriend just came to watch the game. He ignored me. Then after the game he'd have dinner with us and leave. (We didn't date for long).I lived in Louisiana 4 years ago and they won the Super Bowl and I met the quarter back at his home town Mardi Gras. Now I live in Texas again so I watch the Dallas Cowboys.

Hey Ross, glad to hear that you had a good timein Vegas. We are going to watch the Dallas Cowboys tonight. We are making a pot of soup and going to have cornbread with it. ross, you didn't tell about the pickles. new bloggers probably don't know that your father used to make pickles that were ready to eat about the same time FB season started and you, your dad and brother used to eat them during the games. love that story. reminded me: my father used to make sauerkraut. first he grew the cabbage, then he shredded it into a large earthenware crock (which i now have) and layered the cabbage with salt. this was the best you could ever get anywhere -- then and now. he did watch football -- but the sauerkraut was served at thanksgiving and other special meals.

We support the Syracuse University Orange.The season hasn't started out very well. Two games, they were clobbered! Fans are fed-up with the coaching.

Welcome back to LA, hope your trip was good. My favorite sport to watch is baseball when it is season, the SF Giants, saw Barry Bonds hit his record breaking homerun at ATT park in SF and the Oakland Athletics. Then comes basketball the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors. My husband is going with SF 49ers, sorry Ross, but I pull for your Seattle Seahawks just for you. I bet Louise will be glad to see you and enjoy watching the games on GLORIA.

I don't think I need to tell everyone I am a New York Yankees Fan...since 1953 when I saw Yogi and Elston Howard and other greats play...I was very young but it is one of my earliest memories.
The Olympics is also one of my old favorites as well...so wonderful to see the youth of the world interact without guns or hate just National Pride.
BABB: So happy you had such a wonderful gathering without Ross this would never have been possible.I have some very special friendships I will always treasure...I even get a giggle from the Drunken Texting and dialing...It always makes me smile & fills me with Joy to be remembered by such a group at the oddest of times...LMAO!

Football is the only thing that gets be through the fall. I watched my Bulldogs get beaten by the Gamecocks and today I watched the Falcons lose to the Vikings. Not a good weekend! I'll probably watch the Giants and Cowboys tonight if I get my work done.

Why do I like football? 11 guys in tight pants bending over! :-) Do I need another reason?

Really, I think I like it like the Romans like the gladiators. It's physical and sometimes brutal but it is also graceful and at times beautiful.

I'm really thinking too hard here. Happy Sunday folks! Hope you're having a good one!

I'm watching Tiger Woods right now, but I'll watch the Cowboys, but only before/after Big Brother. Big Brother's more exciting than football.

I like gymnastics, figure skating and competitive cheerleading. I also like horse racing, horse and dog shows, but not everyone would consider those sporting events. The best thing about my 2nd husband was his lack of interest in sports (except car racing - he was a racecar driver and head mechanic at the Indy 500). My first husband is a professional golfer, as is my adult son.

I have to say I love figure skating also.My oldest daughter figure skated for 12 years.We have traveled all over the USA and Europe for competitions. It is an amazing sport!I was so sad when her career came to an end.She is a sophormore at Indiana University.Both my son's play hockey, so I would have to say now hockey is my favorite, but only if one of my boy's are on the ice.They too have traveled all over the USA and Europe to play.I have one more child, but she does nothing on ice.She is a wonderful dancer.

Sorry but I really can't stand to watch football. If I had to pick a sport, I would say I enjoy baseball. My town is where the Little League World Series champs hail from and we are super proud of them!!

I raised 3 boys (4 if you count my husband) who all played every sport available to them, so our TV was always tuned to a sports program. I learned to like all of them. Now that my husband is gone and the boys have all moved out I only watch tennis and football (Raiders of course). Oh, I also watch the Olympics.

i REALLY love soccer. cuz my daughters play. and i'm excited for the women's world cup that starts tomorrow. but since it's in China the game times are when i'm at work. boohoo!

My favorite sport is gymnastics. It requires such strength, balance, flexibility, and concentration to name a few. It is a very difficult sport, and requires so much practice! My favorite team are the UGA Gymdogs! Go Team!

RhondaHonda: I am sorry you are having sad struggles right now. I lost my mom last year and it is so hard to watch them sick. My thoughts are with you.

Hi Ross: My favorite sport is baseball..but not the Tigers, but my 6 grandsons and my granddaughter. They range in age from 5 to 16. Some play on two teams. Four played on federation travel teams this summer. I try to make all their games. We even went to Cooperstown, NY, for a tournament. They are all supper stars in my eyes. Everyone in southeastern Michigan seem to be Redwings fans! Not me, it all looks like a big rumble to me.

Soccermom: The sun is just starting to break thru and it's almost 6 pm.

Huge Packer fan and they won today! Have lived in Los Angeles for 27 years for lived in Wisconsin for my first 25 and that will always be home. I visit two or three times a year and try to see the Packers as much as I can.

Tim T the same thing happened to me yesterday. I think there was something wrong with the website.

Jamie Leigh the same thing happened to my comment yesterday. I think there was something going on with the website. I posted yesterday morning and it worked fine but last night it wouldn't let me post any other comments.

For JaimeLeigh, BusyMom2 and others who are new to the blog, this kind of thing happens alot to everyone!

We call it getting "Foaded". which means that our comments are "Held for Submission" or "You are Not Allowed to Comment". Its a random thing, you never know when it will happen, and that's what sucks!

I have learned from others to copy, paste my comments to my email address as a new message, save in drafts, and then go back and try again.

That way I do not lose my comments, which when you do lose your comments is VERY frustrating!!

I just asked my hubby what he would say are my two favorite sports to watch...and he got them right: Football, and Figure Skating!!! LOL

We root for the Packers(of course, sort of a Law in WI).
Your team has our old coach, who we sort of love/hate(for leaving).

I also watched football with my father, from an early age. He used to get so mad he would turn the TV off mid game. I would sneak upstairs to finish watching, and saw a lot of comebacks that way.

p.s. My dad died a year and a half ago, and we think about him during the games, and especially during Brewer baseball, a lot. He listened or watched almost every single baseball game all year. And you know how many of those there are!!!

Well, sorry I missed the bbq but I had a great time at the Wooden Boat Festival in Port Townsend WA.

As for sports I used to like basketball when the shorts were really short, but now they look like dresses and don't highlight the players' legs.

Football players look good from behind but not from the front or side.

Soccer players have wonderful legs.

But even all of this hotness is not enough to tune in regularly. I did watch the Olympics and watched curling for the first time although I don't understand the rules.

Wahb, love it when you spell it wrong...

Wish me luck BBs as I am thinking of resigning from my job this week!!! It's a very liberating feeling.

If I had known you were in Vegas, I would have taken you to my daughter's High School Football game. It was on Friday, you probably were not here then. It was the best game EVER! They had lost 42 consecutive games in a row and got their first win in 4 years! The crowd went wild and ran out on the field. Everyone was screaming! It was a lot of fun! Hope you had fun in Vegas.

I am so very sorry for the terrible times you are going through right now.

When those rough times have come to me, I read and pray over Psalms 30, verse 5, and claim God's promise that weeping is only for a night and joy comes in the morning.

I trust that is God's reminder that He is with us through those bad times, and will strengthen and sustain us. He loves us, and trusting Him, we will have our joy renewed. I pray this Scripture for you, and that your Joy will come in the morning.

They can't be showing the final 2 on BB because the HOH is live and starts on Tuesday. Maybe they are showing the final 4???

Packers are my team. Love them no matter how they play. My dream has always been to go to Lambeau to see a game. Finally this year I am going. My son and daughter-in-law are taking me to a game in December. It is going to be a challenge because I have arthritis and have a hard time walking any distance but I will make it happen.

We went to Vegas last October and ate at TAO, Paris Hilton was at the next table with 10 or so Hollywwod friends! BARF

OM(gosh), I've been reading the comments for hours now in between doing laundry and other stuff around the house. Apparently this fan IS a fat middle-aged housewife from the midwest.

In case anyone missed it, the BABB was a blast and I'm so sorry the my yummy hubby (YH) and I had to leave early. I missed seeing black Louise AND I will forever wonder what spiked root beer floats taste like. They sound yummy. Maybe Whabby will give me the recipe?

On today's topic, I was never a football fan but was a Cowboys fan when I lived in Texas. Can't really seem to get into football here. Little bit of a hockey fan. We went to Stars games regularly when in Dallas but have only been to a couple of Sharks games (playing the Stars of course).

As for me, no good at sports, period. I prefer games for one, like solitaire - or games I can play online with robots.

AmyP, I know what you mean about the people Ross interviewed. I recognized Kevin Smith because YH is a big fan.

Sounds like everyone is having a good Sunday. We are all exhausted! We had a looooong day walking around town. I don't follow sports or have any favorite teams. My favorites to watch though are soccer and ice skating. My little brother is into football so I'll sit and watch with him. It's just a good time to sit and be together.

I even helped plan a big birthday party for her and gave her my braun juicer and juice book to help her with her diet. Turns out she is a very disturbed woman who has now disappeared. :-S She's obviously mentally ill and I can only hope she gets the help she so desperately needs. Prayers to you Rhonda.

OMG, this has been the most gorgeous weekend here in the Seattle area. Perfection!!

I enjoy football, but I am not a fanatic like someone else I live with (cough** Berry**cough) I think that living in Baltimore when the Colts were snuck out of town in the late night hours has permanently damaged me. I love meeting for football games though (especially SuperBowl) and all the social aspects. So not all is lost.

I do love baseball (Go Mariners!) I also love watching a lot of other sports. When the Olympics are on, I am always grateful that we get Canadian TV here in WA, so I can watch the whole event. Heck, I am even fine with watching curling!

My daughter has gotten involved with 2 uncommon school sports and I am growing to love BOTH~ team jumprope and unicycle!

Ross, I grew up watching football with my father too. My step mom would take my younger sister and brother out every Sunday that he hosted the games.
She didn't like when my dad cursed at the team when they didn't follow the plays he called, lol.

When I was in college (in the late 70's) I volunteered for a benefit that the Philadelphia Eagles were helping with. My job for the day was taking pictures of everything that was going on. Ron Jaworski and John Bunting came up to me and asked me to get an item autographed for them. They were auctioning several items later in the day. I had to go to all the celebrities that were there and get their autographs. I said "sure". I figured they were gonna give me a football to have the guys sign. They handed me an athletic supporter (aka jock strap)!!! So here I was, an 18 year old girl going up to all these big football players, asking them to sign a jock strap! I had a great time and have a few pictures of me and the guys with it. At the end of the day, they gave it to me instead of auctioning it off.

I took it home and my mom frowned at it and said to put it away. We had company for dinner that night and she didn't want them to see it. Well,after she consumed a few glasses of wine, I guess she didn't think there was anything wrong with my newly prized possession. She told me to go get it to show everyone. I got a few surprised looks from people wondering why I had such a thing, until they found out it wasn't for my personal use. I guess they thought I was going to have a sex change operation.

A few years later I was an extra in Rocky 3 and I wanted Sly to sign it, since he's from Philly. But we were told he wasn't giving autographs. I had it in a brown paper bag and when he was walking to set from his trailer, I pulled it out and hung it over the barricade. He saw it and started laughing. He came over and said that since he's an EAGLES fan also,he'd sign it for me!

now there's a game I'd like to see get rained out!lol

Definitely the Patriots (great game today!) and I am a newly minted Seahawks fan, since Patrick Kerney was traded to them. I've got to figure out their schedule and stuff..
I'll be interested to see how the Atlanta Falcons do this season without dogkillin michael vick.. So far they are doin fine.. better than they had been with him playin last year.. the fact that he isn't playing is giving some of the receivers a little more playin time.. instead of it being "the michael vick show"

Confession time. Yes, I'm a lurker who is posting for the FIRST time because I just caught up with my "Ross" blogs and saw your sinus rinsing. . .
My husband works in a coal power plant and HAS to use a sinus rinse every day. THERE'S a better way than the "nettie pot". He uses his water pick WITH A SPECIAL SINUS adapter and it gently nudges the water through. . .and cleans thoroughly! Because when you're "clogged" it's hard for the water to go through. . .thus, the slight pressure from the water pick does it for you - efficiently and gently! Hope this helps!Allergies are a bitch and you've been suffering with them long enough! Sure beats antibiotics!

GO SEAHAWKS! They just won 20-6 against Tampa Bay. My hubby and I are season ticket holders for the last 5 years. First game of the season is awesome! Such a rush and the fans are terrific! Can't think of a better way to spend a sunny Sunday in Seattle! A perfect day!

Well, if I was wrong about it not being you yesterday, Ross, I'm sorry. I hope that doesn't make you mad. I was exhausted from hanging online at the BABB party until 3 a.m., and when I checked the comments, it really didn't sound to me like anything you would say. That's not to say that you're not entitled to. Obviously you can say or do anything you want here, because it's your space. I'm not judging. My only problem with it was if it were someone else, and that would be wrong.
Let me just say the BABB was the best fun I ever had at a party I didn't attend in my life. What a great, hysterically funny, warm and genuine bunch of crazies we are here. I vote for more BABBs, and one closer to the east coast, please. I'd be happy to host, but it would have to wait until next summer, as this one's all but over.

Ross, I'm really surprised you weren't there for the VMAs, but it's cool you got to see Brit. I would rather have just bumped into her than see her perform. I hate all sports. Except games I am interested in.
When I was in college, for a period of four years I went to every basketball game. The first two years specially to watch this one guy, he's the only reason why I started going. But I couldn't let HIM know that. I really got into the games and the heart stopping plays made, the gut clinching free throws, the breath holding passes made. I enjoyed them thoroughly. When I went away to college, I found someone else on their team and went to those and listened to the "away" games. I remember screaming at the radio, but I had to be quiet for the girls in the room next door. So I screamed softo groso. (Softly), Is that the word? He drove a little past half court, threw the ball when the buzzer sounded, and the ball swished the hoop winning by one point. aaaaaaaaaggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!! Shhh, mustn't bother the neighbors.

Well, that clears that up. That was just ME, the "Other" Robin, posting the Just Testing, and I signed it Ross Mathews just to see if it let me. I wasn't trying to be in any way deceitful, I just wanted to know for myself. Now I'm always going to wonder ....
ROSS, isn't there a way for your techies to set this up so that no one can put your name in as their posting name? There has to be. You need to have someone look into this. At the very least we all have to be able to believe that when we see a post with your name on it, it's you. (Don't ya all think so?)

Is it Ross or isn't it? I am confused, but lately, several thing on here have left me wondering....Oh well, I just skip the yuck stuff and go on, coz all in all this is a nice place to be.

Favorite sport: Karate! I love it! But, then again, I have 2 second degree black belts in my house and have been to many competitions and exhibitions over the last 10 years. I find it fascinating, their mantra- strength & honor.

Favorite sport....hmmmm..lawn bowling, for sure!!

Kidding!! Its all about the hockey baby!! I'm a bit of a sports nut, I love 'em all. Baseball...go Red Sox!! NFL...go Patriots!! CFL...go Eskies!! Nascar...Jimmie Johnson all the way baby!! I'm sure Ross/NBC is aware that this is always a possibility. Unfortunately, the only way to cut down on the misuse of signatures is to have people register as many blogs require and I'm not sure what kind of set-up they have. One can still register under multiple email addresses, but for one, it usually only allows one user name to be assigned at a time. Once the email address/URL is verified, it does allow for follow-up on "misbehavior" too. Sometimes there's a delay to verify the registration, but wouldn't most everyone here give up a day of posting to ensure things are kept on the up-and-up?

Ok Ross-I am just going to JUMP in on a leap of faith that you will not bar me from your blog when I say what is on my mind-please remember that it is in LOVE and ADMIRATION only that I even speak about it! Here it goes......

Although I am not one of your "long" bloggers-I am one of your first ever fans...And let me say this and hope that you get it-PIZZA-EVEN A WHOLE PIZZA is ok every once in a while and you need not be afraid to "go back" as you say because of the long, hard road you traveled to get to where you are NOW! My friend-LIFE IS TO DAMN SHORT to have a state of mind of wanting something that is in your reach-and not treat yourself and get it! MODERATION is the answer-NOT TORTURE! My Dad lived his life as a "wanter" in food and chose to punish that side of treating himself in moderation and eating ONLY healthy and NO TREATING himself at ALL-he died at the age of 56,of a heart attack- and told us all on his death bed-to- ENJOY LIFE, even if that was a slice or two of pizza or dip cone of ice cream-whatever the pleasure for that individual.I hope this gives you some sort of a different look into pizza, every once in a while,or what ever luxury you are not treating yourself to- and that you forgive me if I have over stepped my limits of being a blogger! Only trying to offer a different perspective. :)

I LOVE baseball!! I cannot stand when football starts because baseball gets pushed aside. There are still a couple of months of the season left too!! What a weekend!!!! It's taken me 'til now to have the time to catch up on the blog! BTW, football is one of my favorite sports, but I really don't have a team, per se. I followed the "Cardiac Cardinals" in the late 70's, and I loved the wonderful run of the 49ers in the 80's and 90's. Absolutely adored Ronnie Lott and Steve Young. Now I just watch and appreciate well executed plays and games.

As for the weekend itself, what can I say? It's one thing to go on a blind date, but to go to a "blind party"? Well, we lucky folks were crazy enough to try. What a pleasure I had meeting some fabulous people:

I love the Fall because it's Field Hockey season!! It's a great game on turf if played by skilled players. It's not the same game that I played on grass years ago. It's so much fun to watch. We should even have a shot at an Olympic medal next time! I don't think we even qualified for the Olympics last time. If you are up at 3am during the Olympics, check it out or go watch a good college game. There should be two Dawson sisters from my area on the team.
I'm a little sad because this is the first year in the past 11 that I'm not watching my daughter play. But there's a lot of good hockey in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area, so I'm lucky.

Nothing beats sitting outside on a coll crisp Fall day watching a FH or FB game.
Wrap me in a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate and I'm happy.

As for sports, I enjoy the Olympics (especially winter) and don't like to miss any of the coverage.

I like Coach Reed, but I think both of his sons' need to serve time. One of them goes to court today. It will be interesting.

Favorite Sport? By far it is hockey! Buffalo Sabres are my all time favorite sports team and I eat sleep and breath them! I cant wait till training camp starts at the end of this week!

Football was disappointing for me yesterday. I cheer for the Bills and we lost by a point with seriously like 2 seconds to spare. They got the kick off RIGHT at the very last last last second. And it went in. Ugh. Talk about a heart breaker! And then all the injuries! *holds head in hands*

Wow lads & lassies I totally agree about Brit's performance. It was almost like she didn't want to be there.. or was all drugged up and couldn't move.. HOWEVER.. I wouldn't be able to move a muscle with those heels either. But, with all the crazy stuff going on in her life, deep down she really must've felt like part of a circus act.. on display for everyone to see.. cuz if you ask me, having her as the opening act was someones nasty attempt to get more people to watch her and judge her. Did you see the looks on all the other celebrity's faces? It was just.. awful.. nobody should have to be put through that.. Brit OR the people watching.

What's this about Steph/Flower's mom pretending to have cancer? I haven't had time to read much of the comments lately; I guess I need to go back a few days and look?

The reason I ask is that I've replied to that person a few times in the past and I learned she lived somewhat near me. I sort of felt like maybe I should try to do something for her or go visit her, but I hadn't taken it past the stage of thinking about it. Now I'm glad I didn't!

Just watched the John & Ross Show and have to say....it IS depressing to think that those who answer the questions during the JAYwalking segments aren't just "acting".
Teachers are doing all they can to educate kids, but this culture isn't helping. American kids spend so much time being entertained that it's hard to get them to do the studying they need to do. DVDs, video games, CDs, movies, online activities, Ipods, TV....all of the above are filling in the blanks in the minds of many kids.

So sad Britney. She was in no way at all ready for an international primetime appearance. The world seems to know that she lip syncs which in ítself is terrible since there are so many real singers who have the talent to perform live but to botch up even that was beyond. I mean she actually covered her mouth at times and even stopped completely. So Ross, if you do meet her and talk to her one day, maybe whisper in her ear that she really ought to go in to hiding until she's truly ready to perform as a real singer and dancer. For now though, being a Mom might be her first priority.

soccermom: Yes It is a bit cool here in MI. My oldest wore his hoodie to school. My middle one wore jeans. and my 6 yr old wore shorts lol. He don't want summer to leave I guess. I do go down to the bus stop with my boys my fifth grader told me he can handle the first grader I said no I will be there to monitor him he has a real good friend that lives down the street and they are a bit wild together. So I like to go and make sure he don't get dirty before school. My fifth grader says whatever mom. But he does bring the 1st grader home from the bus stop sometimes I go after school and sometimes not. It just depends. My MIL is going to have her surgery tomorrow I just hope its not infected but I do have to go there tomorrow to put my sil to bed. Then if they open her knee up to replace and clean everything she told the aid to come every other nite so that helps me out too. So its not to bad. Ok everyone have a good day. I'm gonna vacuum, take a shower, and go visit my sister. Have a good day everyone.

I'm so sorry about your MIL. I had no idea. You are a good DIL for doing what your going to do. I know I should go clean my MIL's house but shes got to big of a house. I like my ranch its a normal size house. Then my mother put the dormer on top and I swear its hard to clean upstairs I usually do that once a month but noone really goes up there but her. So it dosent get that dirty. Have fun cleaning for your MIL I hope she feels better. Shes in my prayers.

Eve~ Good morning! I am lucky my girls get on the bus in front of my house. We live right by the corner so that is the bus stop for the kids. My 12 year old leaves at 6:45 for the bus and he has to walk a ways. I watch him until he turns the corner and the stop is right past that. It's still dark then though!
I am off to my MIL's house. She has cancer and is going through chemo so I am off to scrub her house clean because she does not have the energy for it so I am going to do a deep cleaning for her.
I hope your MIL's surgery goes well.

Okay, my left nostril is totally plugged. My sinuses ache and my throat is scratchy. Is it nettie pot time? After watching your demonstration, I'm wondering.

Wow ross!! I envy you - I love Vegas, and now that I'm a mom, the majority of my partying days are behind me. But I spent time at the club - minus the celebrities though, but still fun.

I watched Britneys performance and feel so bad for her. I really wanted her to do goo - but to all those people out there who keep calling her "jiggly" and "fat" and "bloated" - back off!! She's had 2 babies for crying out loud, and as I know, you're body is never the same, no matter how much you work out, or how much money you have for a personal trainer and chef. However, I do agree that she was nervous, and a little unrehearsed - and Sarah Silverman's comments were uncalled for!! Shame on her!!

Back to the topic: Football!! Definitely!! I'm from Pittsburgh, so it's in my blood...GO STEELERS!!!

Oh Ross--re: Britney, ouch. Seems like she needed to doing a little less partying and a LOT more rehearsing. That was the saddest thing I have seen in ages. She seemed like she totally couldn't have cared less about being there, performing, etc. I think she needs a rest, some space, and a chance to pull it together.

I miss cool, crisp air, pumpkin patches and mums and snow at Christmas. But, it is pretty funny seeing snowman by palm tress in peoples yards. I still can't do it though, I keep thinking," Those poor snowmen are gonna melt...:-) But, on the flip side, I have sandy beaches, flowers year round, flamingos, dolphins, and manatees. Going to see my mom next week in Ill., and am hoping it will be cooler there.

I have to say I'm a fan of whatever my kids are playing! Baseball, football, & basketball are played in our house. My 11yr olds passion is baseball. He gets up in the morning and watches Sportcenter on ESPN while getting ready for school! No joke, so that has made me more of a MLB fan, & with 4 boys, 5 if you include my husband ;) I'm sentenced to a life of sports. If you can't beat em join em, right? I truly do enjoy it though, but I love watching them play most. I'd be a HUGE Chess fan though if thats what they chose to do, I guess thats just a mom thing!

We are Yankee fans around here, and the Texas Rangers, because from Tulsa its only about a 4hr drive, and we get to go to Six Flags!!!

But, this time of year its all about the football! GO SOONERS!!!! We are a house divided however, my 15yr old daughter has chose to be an OSU fan, I think just to spite me! LOL I tell the kids we are Oklahoma loyal until they play each other and then the Sooners better win!!! :D

Poor Brit Brit! It was truly painful to watch. I don't know quite what to make of it. Did you notice she had blue contacts in? Like its not really me, is that what she was doing? I don't know but poor her.

Britney threatened to ditch her VMA performance just minutes before she took the stage. Want to know why? Britney overheard Sarah Silverman rehearsing her monologue in which she calls Britney's babies mistakes and takes jab after jab at Britney.

Britney made it very clear with MTV that Sarah was NOT allowed to talk about her kids, and MTV agreed. That big-mouthed bitch said it anyway.

Sam Lufti (VMA producer) was overheard backstage screaming at Sarah Silverman because of her outrageous remarks saying: "Sarah Silverman is a seriously unprofessional person to make fun of infants to get a laugh."

Perhaps this why Britney looked upset during her performance. Britney was seen backstage in Alli's arms crying about how cruel people can be to her babies.

While it is Silverman's job to get a laugh, it should not be at the expense of little babies. Your career must be hurting if you have to turn to bashing infants in order to gain a laugh. You'll get what's yours.

Britney Spears was to perform under the magic of Chris Angel... but MTV freaked out at the last minute finding out what Britney was actually going to do.

Supposidly, what Britney and Chris were planning was to do a set of mirrors and flotation. But when told to the Palms Hotel/Casino... the hotel flipped.

Insurance was the main problem, and the stage couldn't support the performance. MTV also freaked at the last minute because of their fear of being "too controversial" during the performance. Britney and Chris were infact furious with MTV's sad excuse and told Britney to change the performance at the last minute.

Britney's original performance was to infact appear and disappear. To float through the air... and for much mature dancing

Tinkatia: What nice things you say about your grandchildren. My in laws and my mother always says the same things. They enjoy their grandchildren more because they are not as worried about things as much and they have more time to devote to them. My aunt watched my 2 oldest from 6 weeks old. Then I quit my job when I found out I was having # 3 my oldest was 5 my middle was 3. Now I'm a stay at home mom and I love it and they love it. I have all boys so I hope one of them gives me a grandaughter someday but I can wait as they are only 12, 10, & 6. My 6 year old tells me hes gonna have six kids I just laugh and say ok honey.

Tinka, My mom and dad are Pa and Nana. I didn't grow up being very close to my grandparents, and my parents have made sure that they are very involved with my kids. My dad never misses a ball game and my 11yr old son says his Pa is his best friend. And my dad feels the same about him. My dad didn't have boys just me and my sister so the boys are so fun for him. Plus, I named my oldest my maiden name which is Gage, so that makes him all the more special. And my dad named my 8 yr old Wyatt, and my mom picked Caleb for my 6yr old, so needless to say, they are involved!! :D But very careful not to over step their bounds. They're the best! Thank you Eve! I meant to thank you earlier, for your earlier post for me, but got side tracked. I have a 2yr old still home with me! We have a 15yr old daughter, and as trying as the boys can be, with the constant tag team wrestling that goes on in our living room. Or the fights over playstation controllers, I can honestly say now that she has hit 15 and is starting to date and is hormonal and all that goes along with womanhood, God knew what he was doing!! Because I truly wanted another little girl, and as much as I love her and would not trade her, I think I am better equipped to deal with boys!!! LOL ;D

Down by the Cape~ Actually the unicycle and Jumprope teams are started in Elementary school here. So far, only the unicycle team continues into High School (and they can continue after school is complete if they want.) The jumprope team is currently only for K-5... but I am hoping to work on continuing that thru Middle and High School. It is an incredible workout and cheap! They only need to pay $3 for their jumprope... the teacher volunteers ALL of his time. He has no kids of his own, so our kids are his. I just adore that man!!

Eve You are so lucky and so are your kids to be able to be a stay at home mom. There is nothing like having a mom to come home to after school. If you can't stay home then it is so nice if grandmas or auntie can look after them. Today in our economy there is no way most women can stay home whether they would like to or not. Some women enjoy their profession and make it work somehow. I know I wanted to teach but my parents were right there to take over. When I was teaching grade one the kids who were picked up by their moms always seemed to be so much happier than the ones who were going to after-school care. Maybe I noticed it more because I was a working mom and you can't help but feel a little guilty and a little jealous when you aren't there for your kids after school. I was so glad for my parents when I had to leave my pre-schoolers.

Momx5 - We have 'Nana' and 'Papa' in our family. My mom's mom died two months before I was born and I had to leave my other Nana who I loved dearly when I was five years old and left Halifax with my family. I never saw or talked to her again. Long distance phone calls were too expensive then. The cost of raising a child today is so high you tell your son he is going to have to get a really good job if he is going to have 6 kids. He must love living in a big family to say that.

Clearly you have misunderstood. I only posted once with the name Ross in it, and I only said "just testing." In my immediate next post (in which I forgot to change the name back) I told everyone that the above post was me and why I did it, because I suspected someone was doing it and fooling everyone into believing it was Ross. Ross and his moderators can see who has and has not done this. There would be no way for me to hide it from them. It wasn't me. I'm the one who pointed it out. But the nenomous negativity that has been spewed AT ME for pointing out that someone was falsely posting has caused me to decide I no longer want to be involved in the chat or the comment sections of this blog. I will go back to just reading Ross and watching his talky blogs, because they are enjoyable and he is genuine. That's what you should do when you find that someplace isn't what you thought it was, move on. So that's what I will do. I wish everyone well. For those of you who totally misunderstood my last fews posts, hopefully when Ross and his people address this issue, you will come to realize that I only posted as Ross the one time as a test to see if that is what could be happening, and I immediately notified all of you, and then Ross by e-mail. I'm not sure what you think is wrong with that, but so be it. Apparently the room has spoken. How bizarre to point out a fraud and then be treated similarly to someone who faked a freakin' coma. Whatever. Good luck.

Its not easy in todays day an age especially in MI where the economy is not good at all. My husband works 75 hours a week, so I do a lot. But you are right seeing their faces when they get off the bus smiling that I am there waiting for them are words I just cant explain. But you as a teacher is a great deal to our society bet your a great teacher. Wait I think your retired am I right??? Those posts you shared from the TSC group don't appear to be from the same Stephanie. The Stephanie who posted on this blog made a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes. Those types of mistakes were consistent in her posts on the Yahoo Answers website and in her emails.
