... and I don't really have anything to write about.
Oh well!!!
I hope ya'll have a wonderful day, blog buddies!
I'm running out the door to go on a long walk with my best friend Taya, my mom and my paw-fect little dog-ter, Louise. It's sunny outside and we're gonna walk along the river. I'll take pictures and post them tomorrow. Fun!
I HEART VACATION!!!
Ross
PS - GO SEE Dreamgirls!!! I went to see it last night and LOVED it! It's 90% perfect! Some songs are a little long and a couple should have been cut completely (in my humble opinion), but it's GREAT. Two words: Jennifer Hudson!!! She's UNREAL. And everyone esle is GREAT, too. GO SEE IT!!!
It's dark and cloudy and rainy and ugly here in Washington State and I'm loving every minute of it! It's SUCH a nice change to come up here from sunny Southern California to spend some time with my family. So far, we've just been hanging out, going shopping, blah blah blah.
Tonight I'm FINALLY going to see the movie sensation I've been DYING to see FOREVER - Dreamgirls. Expect a full report tomorrow.
I've got to tell you a funny story. Yesterday I went to the gym in town. Sure, it may be the holidays and I may be way up here in Washington State, but Celebrity Fit Club stops for no one and they'll still be weighing me in front of America when I get back home to LA. So I've been TOTALLY watching what I've been eating and TOTALLY working out.
Anyway, yesterday I went to the local gym in town and guess who I ran into. Guess. Okay, I'll tell you. I ran into Mr. Nelson, my elementary school gym teacher! Isn't that kind of funny? I was THRILLED I ran into him at the gym and not at McDonald's or a bar or something. He's still the gym teacher at my old elementary school and he looks great. Maybe there's something to this working out thing...
On another note...
Last night I went out on the town with my best friend Taya. If you read the blog regularly, you know who Taya is. We went to high school together and speak on the phone about 8 times a day. Taya lived with me for a year in LA right after college, but moved back to Washington State a few years ago and I miss her like CRAZY. So when I come into town, we hang out kinda non-stop.
Last night we decided to go a couple bars around town for a quick drink. Here we are at a cute bar in LaConner (I forget the name of the bar - oopsies!).
Isn't Taya cute?!?
The 2nd bar we stopped by is Althea's in Mount Vernon. And you'll never believe what night it was. Guess. Guess. Okay, I'll tell you. It was open mic night. IT IS ON! You may or may not know that I have the voice of an angel. Well, so does Taya. In fact, we have a little band called Common Ground and we shared a gift with those lucky enough to be at Althea's last night. We shared the gift of song.
We were AMAZING!!!
After our fantastic performance, we walked down the street to another bar called The Doublewide. Guess what we found there. Guess. Guess. You'll never guess, so I'll just tell you. We found the COOLEST jukebox I've ever seen!!! It actually downloads the songs like iTunes or something. Seriously! So you just search an artist's name and it gives you all their albums and you pick any of their songs. SO COOL!
After putting $5 in the jukebox and picking a ton of songs, Taya and I finished the evening off with class, grace and style. We slow danced!!!
In other news...

Did ya'll have a great Christmas/holiday/Monday yesterday?!? Didya didya? I certainly did!
I went down to my brother's fiance's parents house to celebrate the big day with my mom and we had a GREAT time! In fact, Santa himself was there to greet us as we walked in!
Here's Santa and Louise:
She looks a little scared of the big guy, don't you think?
Santa brought me a Seahawks hat!!!!
THANKS, SANTA (even though we lost on Christmas Eve)!
My brother got to sit on Santa's lap, too.
But the real fun was watching my nephew Kai try to figure Santa out.
Here's a picture of Ward and Joan, Amy's (my brother's fiance) parents.
Thanks, Ward and Joan, for a great great great Christmas day!!!
I was really touched this year by how seriously everyone took Louise. I know some people think, "Oh, what's the big deal? She's just a dog..."
Those people suck. Louise is WAY more than "just a dog" to me. She's a soul who makes me happy each and every day.
Seeing my family embrace her the way they do melts my heart. Eric and Amy got her a fancy pink Coach collar! My mom wrapped presents under the tree for her, including snacks and a new pink shawl! My mom's best friend Boni got her doggie bones, a picture frame, and a neat-o travel bowl! Ward and Joan had a stocking hanging with her name on it full of goodies! I love love love that my family takes our bond seriously. It's a good feeling.
In other news...
Today's blog would have been up WAY sooner but I was having computer issues. My computer wouldn't turn on and - for the life of me - I couldn't figure out what the problem was. "Stupid piece of crap" (Only I didn't say "stupid" or "crap").
After about a half an hour of trying to figure it out I realized it wasn't plugged in.
The day we've been waiting for is finally here! Whether you celebrate Christmas or something else or nothing at all, have a great day today!
I'm going down to spend Christmas day with the parents of my brother's fiance (Amy).
Last night we had a mini-celebration at my mom's with friends, family, neighbors, etc. It was SO MUCH FUN!
Before the party, I spent the day madly shopping for gifts. I had a lot of the "big" gifts sent to my mom's house before I got here, but I needed a bunch of "littles". I think I did pretty well! Here I am wrapping gifts yesterday afternoon (just a by-the-way, I'm wrapping a paper towel holder in paper towels - pretty fancy, huh?):
Here's my nephew, Kai, opening a Seahawks jersey and sweatshirt from my mom:
We're a Seahawks family and, even though they lost yesterday, we're proud fans. Here's Kai with my brother Eric (his dad) and Eric's fiance Amy:
Then my Uncle Kenny and Aunt Carol came over to visit. Uncle Kenny and my dad are responsible for teaching me how to be funny - they were wickedly funny together.
Louise was a paw-fect little Christmas dog-ter last night. In fact, she scored a BUNCH of GREAT presents! Here we are in front of the tree:
It was SO nice to be back home with my family. Christmas has always been a time for us to pull together as a "unit" and celebrate life. Last night was no different.
How was YOUR Christmas Eve? What are YOU doing today?
7:30am: Woke up. Walked Louise. Ate breakfast. 8:00am: Showered. 8:30am: Got coffee. 9:00am: Began the process of trying to do all my holiday shopping for all the people in my family in just a few hours. Otherwise known as Mission Impossible. Noon: Kicked Mission Impossible's ass. Finished ALL my shopping. Noon thirty: Wrapped presents like a mo-fo. 1:00pm: Started watching the Seahawks game with the fam. 2:30pm: Wrote this blog.
What's next? Drinking. Eating. Opening presents. Frickin' loving the holidays.
Have a great day, blog buddies! Pictures tomorrow!
Ross
Happy Saturday/the day before the day before Christmas!
I'm in a total rush. I have to leave for the airport in 30 minutes and my clothes are still in the dryer. After a full cycle on the "high heat" setting, the load still wasn't dry. That's probably because I put about 15 pounds of whites and colors combined in the same load trying to save time.
It turns out that doesn't work. Not only might some of my clothes get ruined, it takes like 4 times longer for a large load to dry than a teeny tiny load. Of course, had I planned ahead and done all this yesterday, it wouldn't be an issue.
To my credit, however, I was busy the last 2 days filming Celebrity Fit Club. That and I'm a total procrastinator.
Speaking of, I'm totally running late!!! I have to gather my toiletries and get Louise's stuff together before my clothes dry and I'm off in a hurry to the airport to catch my flight up to Washington State to spend the holidays with my family.
Don't worry blog buddies - the rest of the world may get baby Jesus's b'day off, but I'll be blogging like it's any other Monday (in between eating and opening presents and thanking baby Jesus and eating some more). In fact, I'll be blogging the entire time I'm gone (until Jan. 3rd), so keep checking back here every day!
I am in SUCH a rush. I spent yesterday shooting a "fit camp" for Celebrity Fit Club and today we're shooting the weigh-in ceremony. I have no idea when I'm going to get the crap I need to get done before I leave tomorrow for Washington State to spend the holidays with my family. Things like laundry, packing, sleeping, etc...
Oh well! I'm sure everything will work out.
To be honest, the thing I'm freaking out about the most is that fact that I still have a BUNCH of people to get gifts for and NO time to do it.
So this is my question for you: is getting someone a gift card tacky?
I can't decide. I mean, a gift is a gift is a gift, right? So who cares if it's a gift card, right? But then I think, the whole point of a gift is essentially saying, "I saw THIS and thought of YOU."
I'm worried a gift card might say, "I thought of YOU, freaked OUT that I had NOTHING, so I just got THIS to shut YOU up. Happy Holidays!"
But then again, I love love love getting gift cards. Hmm...
What are YOUR thoughts?
Okay. I seriously seriously seriously have to run.
Until tomorrow!

I'm so glad that you're having such a great time with your family. You needed a time to relax and have fun. I can't wait to see Dreamgirls. Take care everyone.
Does anyone know when the replay of Ross's Elizabeth Taylor episode is going to happen? I know it comes on at 2am eastern time. I accidentally taped over it!
Darrell-It re-aired already!:(
I will be posting it on myspace in a few days and I'll link you guys then!!:)
Keep checking back for details of a new surprise!!:)
LMAO@Darrell!
Since Ross is on vacation and busy how about we talk about our favorite vacation spot/memories or if you can't think of one, choose a place you'd like to visit! LOL
Tawk amongst yourselves: Topic: vacation! LMAO
My fave vacation memory is when I was raising my brothers, every year on their spring break I'd take my vacation from work for that same week..We'd go to Virginia and my Aunt would always have these fabulous fun things planned for us..Some of the places we went were: a cool museum in Roanoke, VA...an official indian reservation, several caverns and one year we hiked a mountain(2 miles) and there was a 10 foot beautiful waterfall at the end!!:) So worth all the aches and pains! LOL
Next?lol
We also went rock and glow bowling which was a BLAST...they had fog machines and everything glowed in the dark and the music was AWESOME!
Ross, enjoy your time with your family and friends...you totally deserve it!!! Annie, I'm totally with ya on the whole "Dreamgirls" thing....I can't frickin wait to see Charlotte's Web!!! Hope everyone's having a great Thursday!!! Bear, have a great NYE!! I'll have a bottle of chardonnay chilled and waiting for you when you get back!! Bisc, I'm glad today wasn't as bad as you were expecting!! I've got a few bottles of bourbon with your name on them anyway!! Hopefully I'll see ya all in chat later tonight!! (and with any luck, my IE won't be such a crapper this time!)
Hmmm. Favorite vacation. Thats kind of tough. I have been a few places. I guess I would have to say that one of my favorite memories is one of my trips to New Orleans on Halloween. My friend had an apartment just off Bourbon St. and you could see everything. We had a few cocktails and were sitting on his balcony when all of a sudden a Black S.U.V. pulls up and quite a large man gets out and walks around to the passenger side( he looked like a bodyguard) and who does he let out? Michael Jackson! OMG! This guy looked like the real thing. He had me fooled until he turned around and started to pee right there on the street by the S.U.V.!! I about died! We were laughing so hard! FUN TIMES! FUN TIMES!!! I tried to take a photo but it did not turn out.
my first Vacation was to NYC 26 years ago. One year later I moved here.
The only other Vacations I took were to Canada.
I need to take Jr to Disney world before she gets too old.
I just hate to fly.
My favorite vacation ...........I don't have just one. When I went to NYC for the first time, it was overwhelming...I remember when I saw the Empire State building for the first time as we flew in, I was bawling my eyes out. I love going to Knoxville, its frickin awesome. Absolutely beautiful...too hot for my liking but I want to go back!! I love going to the mountains with my Mom and my brother too....we don't go that often anymore, but when we do, its amazing....I really love it. Seeing the Rockies gives me chills everytime. Its like a new trip every time we go!
Well, A 90% Perfect doesn't warrent a $25.00 Movie Ticket Price for me...I'll wait for the next showing or wait for Mockmusters to put a previewed copy on sale for $4.99...Now, Charlotte's Web is a whole Nother story...*squeel*!!!
Hi All.
I won't be in CHAT again. I've been so darn tired. The regular holiday let down. I stress myself out so much getting everything done before Christmas, that when it's over I totally crash. We are going out tonight and then I have to work again tomorrow (how dare someone take vaca!). So I might get on tonight to say howdy, but not sure.
I can not wait to see Dreamgirls. Just not looking forward to seeing Beyonce. Not a big fan of hers.
Now as for my fav vaca. Gosh I don't know that I have a fav. There are certain parts of every vaca that really stand out. Thunder & lightning in Iowa, Katie being so excited to see Eeyore even though she was 21, every trip to Hawaii, the two Bahamian women who got into a slap fight over beading my hair. But the most memorable would have to be the second day of a trip to Hawaii was when 9/11 happened. Not a fun vaca after that, but certainly memorable.
Hi Ross! I am really glad to know that you are enjoying your time at the Mount! Walking along the river sounds wonderful, except that I just came inside and I know how darn cold it is today... brrrr! Of course, the cold is a special treat when you live in LA. So enjoy the frost!!
I am hoping to go see Dream Girls, but I know that I am going to end up at Charlotte's Web in the next few days before school goes back. So be it...life as a mom. I never get to see MY movies.
Going to a friend's home for late Christmas tonight, so I will be in chat very late... if I make it. Definately there tomorrow night though!!
Have a good time while you can Ross! I have a long list of movies to see and Dreamgirls is one of them. I took my boys to see Pursuit of Happyness today. It was the 2nd time I saw it and I still enjoyed it! You all just have to see it...very inspirational and that little Jaden is adorable!
that's good news Barb, becasue I don't feel like getting on a plane yet.
9-11 scared the crap out of me.
We are going to see night at the museum for Jrs birthday
