The Ross Blog

... and I don't really have anything to write about.

Oh well!!!

I hope ya'll have a wonderful day, blog buddies!

I'm running out the door to go on a long walk with my best friend Taya, my mom and my paw-fect little dog-ter, Louise. It's sunny outside and we're gonna walk along the river. I'll take pictures and post them tomorrow. Fun!

I HEART VACATION!!!
Ross

PS - GO SEE Dreamgirls!!! I went to see it last night and LOVED it! It's 90% perfect! Some songs are a little long and a couple should have been cut completely (in my humble opinion), but it's GREAT. Two words: Jennifer Hudson!!! She's UNREAL. And everyone esle is GREAT, too. GO SEE IT!!!

Happy Wednesday, blog buddies!

It's dark and cloudy and rainy and ugly here in Washington State and I'm loving every minute of it! It's SUCH a nice change to come up here from sunny Southern California to spend some time with my family. So far, we've just been hanging out, going shopping, blah blah blah.

Tonight I'm FINALLY going to see the movie sensation I've been DYING to see FOREVER - Dreamgirls. Expect a full report tomorrow.

I've got to tell you a funny story. Yesterday I went to the gym in town. Sure, it may be the holidays and I may be way up here in Washington State, but Celebrity Fit Club stops for no one and they'll still be weighing me in front of America when I get back home to LA. So I've been TOTALLY watching what I've been eating and TOTALLY working out.

Anyway, yesterday I went to the local gym in town and guess who I ran into. Guess. Okay, I'll tell you. I ran into Mr. Nelson, my elementary school gym teacher! Isn't that kind of funny? I was THRILLED I ran into him at the gym and not at McDonald's or a bar or something. He's still the gym teacher at my old elementary school and he looks great. Maybe there's something to this working out thing...

On another note...

Last night I went out on the town with my best friend Taya. If you read the blog regularly, you know who Taya is. We went to high school together and speak on the phone about 8 times a day. Taya lived with me for a year in LA right after college, but moved back to Washington State a few years ago and I miss her like CRAZY. So when I come into town, we hang out kinda non-stop.

Last night we decided to go a couple bars around town for a quick drink. Here we are at a cute bar in LaConner (I forget the name of the bar - oopsies!).
RT Toast.jpg

Isn't Taya cute?!?

The 2nd bar we stopped by is Althea's in Mount Vernon. And you'll never believe what night it was. Guess. Guess. Okay, I'll tell you. It was open mic night. IT IS ON! You may or may not know that I have the voice of an angel. Well, so does Taya. In fact, we have a little band called Common Ground and we shared a gift with those lucky enough to be at Althea's last night. We shared the gift of song.
RT Open Mic Night.jpg

We were AMAZING!!!

After our fantastic performance, we walked down the street to another bar called The Doublewide. Guess what we found there. Guess. Guess. You'll never guess, so I'll just tell you. We found the COOLEST jukebox I've ever seen!!! It actually downloads the songs like iTunes or something. Seriously! So you just search an artist's name and it gives you all their albums and you pick any of their songs. SO COOL!
RT Amazing Juke Box.jpg

After putting $5 in the jukebox and picking a ton of songs, Taya and I finished the evening off with class, grace and style. We slow danced!!!
RT Dancing.jpg

Happy Tuesday, blog buddies!

Did ya'll have a great Christmas/holiday/Monday yesterday?!? Didya didya? I certainly did!

I went down to my brother's fiance's parents house to celebrate the big day with my mom and we had a GREAT time! In fact, Santa himself was there to greet us as we walked in!

Here's Santa and Louise:
Louise n' Santa.jpg

She looks a little scared of the big guy, don't you think?

Santa brought me a Seahawks hat!!!!
Ross n' Santa.jpg

THANKS, SANTA (even though we lost on Christmas Eve)!

My brother got to sit on Santa's lap, too.
Eric n' Santa.jpg

But the real fun was watching my nephew Kai try to figure Santa out.
Kai n' Santa.jpg

Here's a picture of Ward and Joan, Amy's (my brother's fiance) parents.
Ward Joan and I.jpg

Thanks, Ward and Joan, for a great great great Christmas day!!!

I was really touched this year by how seriously everyone took Louise. I know some people think, "Oh, what's the big deal? She's just a dog..."

Those people suck. Louise is WAY more than "just a dog" to me. She's a soul who makes me happy each and every day.

Seeing my family embrace her the way they do melts my heart. Eric and Amy got her a fancy pink Coach collar! My mom wrapped presents under the tree for her, including snacks and a new pink shawl! My mom's best friend Boni got her doggie bones, a picture frame, and a neat-o travel bowl! Ward and Joan had a stocking hanging with her name on it full of goodies! I love love love that my family takes our bond seriously. It's a good feeling.

In other news...

Today's blog would have been up WAY sooner but I was having computer issues. My computer wouldn't turn on and - for the life of me - I couldn't figure out what the problem was. "Stupid piece of crap" (Only I didn't say "stupid" or "crap").

After about a half an hour of trying to figure it out I realized it wasn't plugged in.

Oopsies!

Until tomorrow, gang!
Ross

... MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS, BLOG BUDDIES!!!

The day we've been waiting for is finally here! Whether you celebrate Christmas or something else or nothing at all, have a great day today!

I'm going down to spend Christmas day with the parents of my brother's fiance (Amy).

Last night we had a mini-celebration at my mom's with friends, family, neighbors, etc. It was SO MUCH FUN!

Before the party, I spent the day madly shopping for gifts. I had a lot of the "big" gifts sent to my mom's house before I got here, but I needed a bunch of "littles". I think I did pretty well! Here I am wrapping gifts yesterday afternoon (just a by-the-way, I'm wrapping a paper towel holder in paper towels - pretty fancy, huh?):
R WRAPPING XMAS.jpg

Here's my nephew, Kai, opening a Seahawks jersey and sweatshirt from my mom:
K SEAHAWKS XMAS.jpg

We're a Seahawks family and, even though they lost yesterday, we're proud fans. Here's Kai with my brother Eric (his dad) and Eric's fiance Amy:
AEK XMAS.jpg

Then my Uncle Kenny and Aunt Carol came over to visit. Uncle Kenny and my dad are responsible for teaching me how to be funny - they were wickedly funny together.
EKCRL XMAS.jpg

Louise was a paw-fect little Christmas dog-ter last night. In fact, she scored a BUNCH of GREAT presents! Here we are in front of the tree:
LR XMAS TREE.jpg

It was SO nice to be back home with my family. Christmas has always been a time for us to pull together as a "unit" and celebrate life. Last night was no different.
MER XMAS.jpg

How was YOUR Christmas Eve? What are YOU doing today?

Have a great day, blog buddies!
Ross

7:30am: Woke up. Walked Louise. Ate breakfast.
8:00am: Showered.
8:30am: Got coffee.
9:00am: Began the process of trying to do all my holiday shopping for all the people in my family in just a few hours. Otherwise known as Mission Impossible.
Noon: Kicked Mission Impossible's ass. Finished ALL my shopping.
Noon thirty: Wrapped presents like a mo-fo.
1:00pm: Started watching the Seahawks game with the fam.
2:30pm: Wrote this blog.

What's next? Drinking. Eating. Opening presents. Frickin' loving the holidays.

Have a great day, blog buddies! Pictures tomorrow!
Ross

... in just a couple hours, blog buddies!

Happy Saturday/the day before the day before Christmas!

I'm in a total rush. I have to leave for the airport in 30 minutes and my clothes are still in the dryer. After a full cycle on the "high heat" setting, the load still wasn't dry. That's probably because I put about 15 pounds of whites and colors combined in the same load trying to save time.

It turns out that doesn't work. Not only might some of my clothes get ruined, it takes like 4 times longer for a large load to dry than a teeny tiny load. Of course, had I planned ahead and done all this yesterday, it wouldn't be an issue.

To my credit, however, I was busy the last 2 days filming Celebrity Fit Club. That and I'm a total procrastinator.

Speaking of, I'm totally running late!!! I have to gather my toiletries and get Louise's stuff together before my clothes dry and I'm off in a hurry to the airport to catch my flight up to Washington State to spend the holidays with my family.

Don't worry blog buddies - the rest of the world may get baby Jesus's b'day off, but I'll be blogging like it's any other Monday (in between eating and opening presents and thanking baby Jesus and eating some more). In fact, I'll be blogging the entire time I'm gone (until Jan. 3rd), so keep checking back here every day!

Okay. I'm SERIOUSLY late. Ooopsies!

Until tomorrow!
Ross

Happy Friday, blog buddies!!!

I am in SUCH a rush. I spent yesterday shooting a "fit camp" for Celebrity Fit Club and today we're shooting the weigh-in ceremony. I have no idea when I'm going to get the crap I need to get done before I leave tomorrow for Washington State to spend the holidays with my family. Things like laundry, packing, sleeping, etc...

Oh well! I'm sure everything will work out.

To be honest, the thing I'm freaking out about the most is that fact that I still have a BUNCH of people to get gifts for and NO time to do it.

So this is my question for you: is getting someone a gift card tacky?

I can't decide. I mean, a gift is a gift is a gift, right? So who cares if it's a gift card, right? But then I think, the whole point of a gift is essentially saying, "I saw THIS and thought of YOU."

I'm worried a gift card might say, "I thought of YOU, freaked OUT that I had NOTHING, so I just got THIS to shut YOU up. Happy Holidays!"

But then again, I love love love getting gift cards. Hmm...

What are YOUR thoughts?

Okay. I seriously seriously seriously have to run.
Until tomorrow!
Ross

You look fantastic, Ross!

Glad to see you are having so much fun up there Ross!!

I'm glad to see that you're having so much fun!

Dang Ross--
you are having sooo much fun up here in Wa. State! I love it.

Glad you are here in Wa State and spending time with family and dear friends

Did any other WA. residents get snow?? Where I live, I had some in my planter boxes early this AM-- But it has melted---

Happy Wednesday bloggers!

everyday ross getting hotter and hotter!! looks like your having fun

I bet you guys were like a modern-day Sonny & Cher (except you sing better than Sonny). :)

There's a bar here that has that same jukebox, and you're right...it is THE COOLEST! Well, almost the coolest...it didn't have My Humps on it last time we were all there. LOL

We had some blowing snow, okay, I'm in Idaho, but I can literally see WA from my window, so that counts. None of it has stuck, though.

I cannot believe it's Wednesday already, I keep thinking it's Monday. Holidays and days off confuse me! I haven't even gotten laundry done yet. If my "stories" weren't on, I would pop in a movie I got for Christmas, but oh well.

Ross, you look great! Isn't it weird when you're from a small town and you run into your old teachers?! I don't really like my hometown all that much because it's so touristy, so I never see anyone anymore.

No snow down here Rose, but my hands have been cold all day.

Ross, you and Taya look like you had a blast. Maybe you can record a little video of you guys singing and put it on here!

and Linda:
What are you doing listening to My Humps? My humps, my humps, my lovely lady lumps!
(are those the words????)
Whatcha gonna do with all the junk? All that junk in your trunk? I'm gonna get get get you drunk.....
ok I don't know the words

Congrats Annie on being 1st!!

Ross, it looks like you had a blast last night with Taya!! She IS adorable!! You are looking so wonderful yourself, Ross, keep up the workouts!!!:) I'm from a small town myself, and I run into some of my old teachers too, it's always fun, but do you find yourself calling them Mr. ______ or Mrs._______, instead of their first names??? I sure do!!! I just can't call them by their first names!!

Happy Wednesday, everyone, have a great day!!

Ross: Sounds like you are having a great time -- wish you would give some friends on the blog warning on where you are going so that we can buy you a drink!!!

We DID get snow here in North Bend -- and even got a 2nd dose just a short time ago. But it was JUST a dusting, and I don't expect it to be around very long.

See everyone in chat later!

Berry

Ross--Looks like you guys had a blast, just more fun for your fun vacation! Question did you have a third buddy with you taking the pictures, or did you get strangers at each location to take a quick snapshot? Just curio-SO nosey me wanting to know! LOL

I love the way you write! It's like talking to you on the phone...I can almost hear your voice! (not that I've talked to you on the phone but...well...youknowhatImean!)

Glad you are having great fun. Just hanging around with my son, watching Little Miss Sunshine. Good movie! Saw Pursuit of Happyness yesterday with some friends. It is amazing! Will and his son are outstanding! But the "y" in Happyness was really bugging me (being a teacher and all). After you see the film, you will understand why they spell it that way. Go see it!

Happy Wednesday friends!

Jr wants to know what you were singing
I thought it looked like you were singing: "I've got you babe"
Or was it Mr. Sandman?

You REALLY are enjoying your holiday trip! What fun you are having! These pictures and the blog are some of your best work yet. Thanks for sharing with us.

Can't wait to see the New Year's Eve pics!

Janet Jackson is on Oprah talking about the "wardrobe malfunction." It's Justin's fault, he ripped the costume too hard.

your kidding right? She actually said that... Dang I'm so laughing right now :-)

Hey All-
Sorry I haved blogged in a while but we're redoing rooms in my house and a whole other house and Christmas for 25 was at my home, blah-blah-blah....
First of all Merry belated Christmas to all. I am such a doof for not taking at least two seconds during the holidays to at least say that, so sorry. I have been reading the blog so I am all caught up. Sounds like every one had a great holiday, while Ross is still enjoying his. Catching up with old friends is always a great experience. Ross you look Superb and that means excellent!!!! Will you still love us when you're over the top? I havn't been reading the comments much, I hope everyone is still safe and sound. Let the holiday spirit stay with you all well into the new year. Take Care. NG

Ross, it looks like you are having so much fun! I love getting together with old friends. I ran into one of my sixth grade teachers a few months ago, at the mall. I had both kiddos with me; I think I made him feel old! ;) It was nice to see him, though.

Good for you for keeping up your workouts even though you're on vacation! I need to get back on the treadmill soon. I will happily report, though, that I am now able to wear some of my pre-pregnancy jeans...and I can even sit down and breathe in them! Woo hoo!!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Last night looked like a ton o'fun! Did you get recognized at any of the bars, Ross?

Happy Wednesday Ross and Blog Buddies! I hope all of you guys are having a great day. I know my week is really screwed up with my husband being off work and not going back til 7 pm tonight. Ross it looked like you were having so much fun being out and about last night. Oh yea by the way you look Awesome.

Holly

Hey Ross! I would have blogged sooner, but you know, someone has to vaccum this house! Oh my aching back! (hee hee, OK, I will put this to rest now.)

So, when are you going to drive south on I-5 and come visit us? It's snowing, very festive and we have lots of fun new games!! Berry could even pull out the karaoke machine and you could show us how you sing like an angel.

It looks like you all had a blast last night! We went to Taco Tel Mor....aren't you jealous? NOT! (name was changed to protect the innocent.)

no, Whab but Ralph did

So glad to see that you are having such a great time off, Ross-ola! Enjoy your vacation!

Hugs to ya,
Sarah

I'll tell you what makes an elementary teacher feel really old...

~getting a phone call from a former student saying she just got her first job as a teacher!

~getting an invitation in the mail to a former student's (gulp) baby shower!

~reading your class list in August and realizing that one of your students in the child of one of your (wait for it...) yup, your former students!!!

Good thing I'm not that old~
:-)

Well, silly pj, I must be officially old because I have been teaching children of former students for a while now. What's really strange is to face those former students as the parents in a parent-teacher conference or to co-teach with them as your equal!

Hope Glynis's aching back gets to feeling better. Maybe she should take some ibuprophen.

Wonder if Ross will find another karoake machine tonight? Perhaps all the Pacific NW bloggers should set up a meeting place for a Ross Sing-a-long!

Ross, have the TTS show producers check on sending you to Pikeville, Kentucky for Hillbilly Days. It would be a fun trip for you, kinda like the lumberjack segment. It's a few months away, so they could be planning ahead.

Rossi!
looks like you are having a blast
(HI TAYA!!)
I always love running into my former teachers (notice I didn't say "old") :)
we have that same kind of jukebox at the pool hall and it totally rocks! I love to find fun obscure songs and play them really loud!
have a great rest of the week. I had a hellish day so I will be looking for our resident bartender in chat later on!
Hi mom!
love, biscy

Hi Taya! You look fabulous..Good to "see" you again..I hope you make it into chat again..last time was a BLAST!:)
Ross, you also look FABULOUS!!
That jukebox is really neat...I have never seen one like that(I know Glynis-I need to get out of SC..hehe)!
Good seeing you again also Korin..and congrats Annie on FIRST! I can't believe how quickly JenJen's BotM reign went by!:(
I have NO CLUE who I'm going to vote for yet, but I'll send in my nomination soon!
They will be the FIRST BotM of 2007!! WOOHOO!! The new BotM logo looks nice also Ross! I can't wait for you to tell us all about Dreamgirls Ross..I also think you should, time permitting, hang out with Berry and Glynis and document it for all of us! LOL
I just made another pan of homemade fudge(Lord help me not to eat the entire pan..LMAO)!

ROFLMAO@Barbara singing "My Humps"...GO GIRL! LOL

Thanks Biscuit....I adore your choice of words!

Joooooooooey...man, I've missed you in chat! Oh, and my hips love fudge! LOL!!

Joey, if you bring some cyber-fudge to chat tonight, I think I will be able to clear my schedule to make it. Oh, and no nuts in the fudge, please: I have dietary restrictions since last week's medical probs arose. Thanks, babe!

jno

LOL @ Barbara! Apparently I'm not the only one that listens to that music! Hee hee!!!

Has Hy been blogger of the month yet?

LJ??
MarrinOhio deserves Blogger of the Month

Aw, Screw it.

I'm going back to LJ.

Ross, I SO want to hang with you and Taya! No one will sing with me here. :(
Probably because I don't sing that great. But that doesn't matter ... Like I always say, "Sing it loud! Sing it proud!"

Glynis, I really DO have an aching back tonight. I got motivated today and put away most of the Christmas gifts and cleaned like a mad woman! I'm sitting here now with a heating pad on my lower back and I just took a pain-killer that I had left over from my sinus surgery. I might stop in chat but I probably can't stay long. I'll probably drift off. YAWN!

Livejournal.

I like it more there.

Hy definitely deserves it. She helped me through some hard times.

and how the heck did you reply to my comment before I posted it?

huh.

MAGIC ;)

who is anonymous? they are talking to themselves....

;-)

Haha, No, I'm not talking to myself, I just prefer not to say who I am. If it helps, here's one of my initials

Here's another initial C. Try to guess who I am!?!?

Um, no.

I am just D.

Stop trying to be me, Anon. I'm not trying to be anybody, because I've been too many already.

No, you quit trying to be me. I need another drink.

maple syrup with those waffles?

What now?

Are you harassing me?

I do not claim to be who I'm not.

I'm D.

*snort*

Yes, bisc, but I just wanted to know if hy has been nominated yet. I am not this other person who is harassing me.

I've left behind being a ross fan and chatting with the others for the here and now, I just wanted to thank hy somehow for helping me.

I've stopped being who I'm not, D is actually my last initial

I do not wish to cause anymore drama, that is why I've shed the name of CosmicWaffles here. It holds too much pain. (though I don't think pain is quite the right word)

just as I expected-Cosmic Waffles

well there ya go waffles.. you don't have to be anonymous.. just sign your name if you are gonna post here..
that's all anyone has ever wanted.. mmmkay?
hope you are having a nice holiday.

Happy Holidays to All-till we meet again!

I'll sign by D from now on. I'll only be dropping by from time to time.

I am, thanks for asking. I got the Adobe Creative Suite 2 for christmas. My mum got it on student discount, so it was cheaper.

but of course, Anon, who else would I be? Santa?

He knows when you've been good or bad-in your case-BAD

Eh. I say there's no day but today.

Besides, Its a whole new year for santa now.

Thanks for thinking of nominating me Cos, but I think Hy would actually be the better choice. I've not been able to be in chat this month due to work. We need to send the nominations to Ross's e-mail address - rosstheintern@yahoo.com

Er, Marr, you do know the other Anon is not me, right?

I'm the real Aimee.

I thought you were leaving Cos

I nominate Oscar

WHO ARE YOU?

Stop harassing me, alright?

I know what I did was wrong, but I'm past that, LET IT GO. I have. And so should you.

Awww.. loving the new pictures.. as always looking marvelous. And Taya, what can I say, she definately has a very Anne Hatthaway (Devil Wears Prada/ Pricess Diaries) meets Kristen Davis (Charlotte from Sex in the City) look about her, very cute and adorable, and when we put you together, if that's not a Kodak moment that makes you say "cheese" then I don't know what is. I love those juke boxes, I remember the first time I saw one, it reminded of the first time I put a song on my space, I just wanted everything to be my song. Yeah, I'm totally one of those people, that are like, "OMG, this is my song" with like every song that comes on. haha.. kahrayzee.. Hey lazy person thought of the day, a lil background to how I manage my finances as well. I keep one account linked to my debit card, keep low money in there, most of my money is kept in high yield savings account. I went to the gas station, had 20 dollars in cash on me, but rather than want to walk inside to pay with cash, I spent 10 mins going through prompts on my phone in my car to transfer money so that I can use my debit card rather than go inside. Just thought I'd share and hope I wasn't alone on this thought.

::hugs to all::

D or Amiee (or whoever it is)is quite the drama queen. DOn't come here giving a false name then claim you're being harassed. Grow up.

D is not a false name, its an initial of mine.

But, I can't really grow up, because I'm 5'9" already and I don't think I'll grow much more.

That last comment Aimee, or whoever you are, just goes to show how IMMATURE you are and NEEDY for attention! GO play somewhere else please!

I'm fifteen. What else would I be?

I'm not needy for attention, I just wanted to be snarky. Is sarcasm a crime now?

And I have been playing somewhere else. LJ, and I plan going back. Its much fun.

Though I don't suppose you would call it playing, more intelligent conversations and helping each other out.

I have been dossing about here, I do think I'll go back now.

Cheerio for now, as I don't want this to turn into a row.

Night, fellow bloggers and Anon.

Oy vey.

Rossalicious, glad you got to hook up with Taya (Hi Taya!). Looks like you two had a great time!

Hope you all have a great night!

I'm glad you're having such a great time. I can't wait until I move far enough away from home that its practically a novelty when I come back.

Ross you are looking fab!!!! I can't get over how good you look. Sounds like you had a super time bar hopping.
I'm glad that being out of town for the holidays isn't stopping you from eating healthy and working out. Woohooo!!! Way to go Ross!!! Props for ya.
Huggles,
Jamie

Ross you and Taya look great!!

We had the same jukebox at one of the clubs here. Everytime we get a good club the UCSC students take it over then it fails.

Ross: Glad you and the Family are having such a good time... Maybe Common Ground could come to chat some night...Too bad it's not an audio room as well...LOL!
Come Out and Play with us in chat like the last time you were home...

It takes alot to piss me off~ I am now freakin pissed with~ Anonymous, Cosmic Waffles, D or whoever you are- Dang it... be yourself!!! WTF????

I'm so disappointed with whomever you are... This blog is for all of us expressing our fun times in our life... not dwelling in bad times ~

You are disturbed, not happy, and above all retarded and stupid! We are not going to be dumb and stoop to your level and feel bad for you!

Get a grip and be yourself~ Be who you are and handle it gracefully! Gawd your posts are becoming null and void.

I'm so fired up~ Sorry Blog Buddies I had to say my piece.

Morning all -
y'all seriously have to go check out my myspace page. Remember when my face met the concrete - the pictures are up!!
Also, JNO says hi but for some reason can't post here.

Good morning, everybody! Off to Palm Springs in an hour, so I won't be on chat until after the New Year. Sad face.

So wishing you all a great New Year's Eve and 2007. As I look back on 2006, it almost seems like the year was divided exactly in two... there was 2006 before Rossland, and 2006 after!

Who would have known that an idle search for information about a Jay Leno correspondent on the internet would have led to all of this!! Thanks for enriching my life in so many ways!

Good morning y'all!

Ross, lookin at those pictures you must have been having a great time. In two of them it appears your glass is empty and the ice hardly melted. Must have been thirsty eh?? But I'll tell ya..., family, friends and Christmas, what an awesome combo! You keep havin fun buddy! It looks like the PNW really misses you!

Rose, I know things like that are frustrating, but don't let people like that live in your head rent free! Just ignore!

Relax and enjoy your day everyone! After all, it's Thursday and that's just as good an excuse for having a good time as any!

Whab... have a safe flight!

I second Bill's sentiments re: Rose and Whabby!!!! (I am sooo lazy today I don't even come up with my own words, I just steal others...LOL)

Whabby: Safe travels, no internet...really???? You'll be missed. Travel safely! Happy and Healthy New Year...Make sure you stop by the Silver Fox Lounge for a few...

Whabby- Here's hoping you and Huzbear have a great NYE.
Safe travels and I'll see you at the Silver Fox Lounge.

Safe trip and have fun!

Happy 2007 Whabbear and Huzbear!
