Happy Friday, blog buddies!

Okay, I've teased you enough. I told you yesterday that I couldn't tell you my little secret until today and, since I am a man of my words, here we go...

I've been keeping this a secret for quite some time and it's been KILLING me! But now, finally, it's time to tell you!

I'm so excited/nervous/excited/scared/excited to announce that I'm taking part in next season's...

CELEBRITY FIT CLUB on VH1!!!

Can you believe it?!? I'm SO excited!

I was on the fence about doing it for a bunch of different reasons. I had tons of questions - do I want to work that hard, do I want to work that hard in front of America, do I want to make myself that vulnerable, am I really even a "celebrity", etc...?

But I finally came to the conclusion (with the help of my friends, family, co-workers and a few famous friends) to shake off my nerves and really take advantage of this AMAZING opportunity. I think the moment I decided to take part in Celebrity Fit Club was when a friend of mine back home in Washington State who's not in the entertainment industry said to me, "If someone offered me access to a personal trainer and a nutritionist and a psychologist to learn how to lose weight the right way, I would do it in a heart beat. And if they were paying me, I'd do it before they finished asking me. You'd be stupid not to do it." When I looked at it like that, it was a no-brainer.

So, yesterday was my very first day of fit camp (or "fat camp", as I call it) and I can seriously not move today. I am so so so so so sore. Beyond sore. We spent ALL DAY yesterday doing various physical activities that I've never even thought about trying.

Here's a picture of me getting ready to try the thing where you run and jump into sand and they measure it. What's that called?

Here's my jump. Because I don't know if I'm allowed to tell you what other celebrities are taking part in the show, I hid their identities. Sorry! I'll let you know as soon as I know I'm allowed to tell you - I PROMISE!

When I woke up this morning and tried to walk up the stairs, I almost started crying. I think I'm broken.

Now I'm off to get my body fat measured, take publicity photos and do that uncomfortable shot of me on the pedestal going in a circle to highlight my fat parts. Oh well - in a few months maybe my fat parts will be less fat! Here's hoping!

I hope you are all as excited about this as I am. Also, you should know that my participation in Celebrity Fit Club in no way takes away from my duties on The Tonight Show - they can't get rid of me that easily!!! :)

So do they tape it now, but show it later? I have never watched CFC, but I will become addicted to it now that YOU are on. Please fill us in on how it will all work.

**IF they tape it, does that mean we won't be seeing photos of your svelt body on the blog...giving away clues to how well you are doing on the challenge?** And is this why you have been taping all these segments that we don't see....so they have segments to work on while you are in hiding?

I think with Ross doing CFC, it is a wonderful opportunity for those of us on the blog who are having those body weight issues to take part right along side him.
I have Dr. Stan's book, and well.. have been reading it for the past few weeks, and though I'm sure it's a good one, it isn't a good fit for me. I've been meaning to go to weight watchers, and so tomorrow morning, I'm getting up and taking the first step on my own path to better health.

Glynis and Biscuit: an alternative to Weight Watchers is www.sparkpeople.com

It's free and doesn't use the "points" system. You have a calorie range to use everyday and it helps track vitamins and minerals as well. I quite like it! I used their sister site for pregnant ladies to keep a grip on my caloric intake while "with child."

This may be a really good opportunity for the idea Biscuit mentioned. I can't afford to join any dues type organizations right now but I do have some guideline I can follow from my past experiences.. also this sparkpeople link someone posted might be just the thing that could help.
I think its very brave for any of us to start doing a program right before the holidays!
I know if I don't do something now I'll only have more to deal with AFTER the holidays. If I can keep up with blog and chat I would sure like to try.

1). Ross ~ I haven't missed a season of CFC (Hello?!?! Reality TV? I'm so there)... however, my concern it this... you're not what I would consider CFC material. I think you look great!

2). Rosie has said over and over and over that she would go on CFC. I think it's awesome that you are doing it.

3). I also think it is a great opportunity for your bloggers who want to drop a few pounds. I hope the new shows don't air until after Feb. If they do, I can lose my baby weight along with the rest of the bloggers.

4). I am seriously jealous that you will get to spend time with Marcia, Marcia, Marcia. I LOVE HER!!! She is beautiful.

I've been really struggling to lose weight...maybe this is the incentive I need.

I am a CFC junky (one of the reality shows I WILL watch) and I (like the others) are jealous of your opportunity. If I did it I would have to deal with all the extra stuff like my Diabetes, etc. WOW! Flashbacks to my USAF days...

Side note: GO SEE HAPPY FEET!!! Last night as a fundraiser for our elementary school I was able to help organize a "sneak peek" of the movie (and as a double-feature you could see Santa Clause 3). OH MY GOD! The animation is SOOOOO good, and the soundtrack freakin' ROCKS! WHO KNEW that Brittany Murphy could sing! The kids were clapping, LOTS of laughter, and there was even a good message in the film. We STUFFED the theatre (I think we had right at 300 people)... It was a great night...

Sorry about all the muscle soreness, though. Do y'all have a Whole Foods Market out in your neck of the woods? The reason why I ask is because they sell a bath salt called (no joke) "Tired Old Ass Soak" and it's great for helping to relieve those muscular aches and pains. They also sell fresh lavender which would help relax you as Jac posted. Also check out the Tiger Balm or arnica gel. These work great also and can be found at Whole Foods.

Biscy, I'm with ya on the Rossland Fitness Club Challenge. I'm also volunteering Joey, Mikey and myself to be the cheerleading team w/ Whabby as the mascot. Will you and Glynis be our drill sergeants?

You are the right size for a normal person, I dont see you need to lose more then a couple of pounds, at most, boy, amazing what the American TV stations will do for ratings. I just LOVE you Ross. I'm a hotmomma in Texas that has basically been focused on her kids for the last 5.5 years and is crashed OUT by the time the Tonight Show is on. I found you via the clip you did with the dearly departed Croc Hunter I watched it 4 times and laughed so hard I cried everytime.

Oh, I love CFC. I don't get it though, no one on there is really CFC material. I mean, everyone could stand to lose a few pounds, but in that pic you posted, everyone has skinny legs! I think that is unnatural, big people with skinny legs! Yeah, a little bit of jealousy there. LOL! I am SO looking forward to this season now. I know that no matter how hard it gets, you will use your humor to get through it. Just one thing, don't wear the knee-high socks. LOL! One, they will fall down and annoy you during the challenges and two, it reminds me of this guy from the Army, he was the only one who wore knee high socks during PT. Good luck, Ross. Joey-my daughter got that 20Q game last year for Christmas. That thing makes me mad because even why you try to trick it, it will still guess what you are thinking! It's fun though.

I forgot to mention earlier I agree with Berry on Happy Feet. I took my girls to it today and it was probably the best animated movie of the year. I love the music. I might have to get the soundtrack. Lots of "old" tunes in the movie.

hope you are all having a great day today. i still feel like carp. :S any takers to aleve me of this flu. Hmmm i didnt think so. rofl

its another beautiful sunny hot day here in newfoundland, supposed to get up close to 20 degrees Celisus. i know its unreal. i think mother nature is getting a bit old and forgot to hit the winter button for newfoundland and hit the summer button again. i had to turn the fan on in the bedroom last night just to be able to get to sleep. i went as far as the front door yesterday to get the flyers in the mailbox and i saw a fly on the railing. i thought they went to sleep but i guess the warm weather has them all confused. rofl

anywho all, i must take off i hope you all are having a great day, joey you didnt say if you got your phone installed yesterday or not?
i hope you did. also hope you get plenty of sleep yesterday and today too.

man oh man, that 20q is not as good as i thought, it only was correct once out of like 20 times. its also a sore loser too. rofl after i won it contradicted some of my answers. rofl

Good Saturday Morning, Rlanders!

Sonia: Work calmed down to a dull roar yesterday... thanks for asking! I still didn't get a little white paper (NASA speak for position paper) finished, though, so I may have to put some time into writing tomorrow.

I certainly can't work today! Have to play tennis this morning, and then... duh... THE BIG GAME!

Buckeyes!!! It'l be great, thinking of all the Rosslanders across the country who are going to be watching and forming a virtual BUCS cheering section in the stands.. Hartldo, JFK, and several more. :)

Of course, there is that "other" Rlander, too. You know the one I mean. The squelchy, slimy, scaly one.
