The Ross Blog

... and I don't really have anything to write about.

Oh well!!!

I hope ya'll have a wonderful day, blog buddies!

I'm running out the door to go on a long walk with my best friend Taya, my mom and my paw-fect little dog-ter, Louise. It's sunny outside and we're gonna walk along the river. I'll take pictures and post them tomorrow. Fun!

I HEART VACATION!!!
Ross

PS - GO SEE Dreamgirls!!! I went to see it last night and LOVED it! It's 90% perfect! Some songs are a little long and a couple should have been cut completely (in my humble opinion), but it's GREAT. Two words: Jennifer Hudson!!! She's UNREAL. And everyone esle is GREAT, too. GO SEE IT!!!

Happy Wednesday, blog buddies!

It's dark and cloudy and rainy and ugly here in Washington State and I'm loving every minute of it! It's SUCH a nice change to come up here from sunny Southern California to spend some time with my family. So far, we've just been hanging out, going shopping, blah blah blah.

Tonight I'm FINALLY going to see the movie sensation I've been DYING to see FOREVER - Dreamgirls. Expect a full report tomorrow.

I've got to tell you a funny story. Yesterday I went to the gym in town. Sure, it may be the holidays and I may be way up here in Washington State, but Celebrity Fit Club stops for no one and they'll still be weighing me in front of America when I get back home to LA. So I've been TOTALLY watching what I've been eating and TOTALLY working out.

Anyway, yesterday I went to the local gym in town and guess who I ran into. Guess. Okay, I'll tell you. I ran into Mr. Nelson, my elementary school gym teacher! Isn't that kind of funny? I was THRILLED I ran into him at the gym and not at McDonald's or a bar or something. He's still the gym teacher at my old elementary school and he looks great. Maybe there's something to this working out thing...

On another note...

Last night I went out on the town with my best friend Taya. If you read the blog regularly, you know who Taya is. We went to high school together and speak on the phone about 8 times a day. Taya lived with me for a year in LA right after college, but moved back to Washington State a few years ago and I miss her like CRAZY. So when I come into town, we hang out kinda non-stop.

Last night we decided to go a couple bars around town for a quick drink. Here we are at a cute bar in LaConner (I forget the name of the bar - oopsies!).
RT Toast.jpg

Isn't Taya cute?!?

The 2nd bar we stopped by is Althea's in Mount Vernon. And you'll never believe what night it was. Guess. Guess. Okay, I'll tell you. It was open mic night. IT IS ON! You may or may not know that I have the voice of an angel. Well, so does Taya. In fact, we have a little band called Common Ground and we shared a gift with those lucky enough to be at Althea's last night. We shared the gift of song.
RT Open Mic Night.jpg

We were AMAZING!!!

After our fantastic performance, we walked down the street to another bar called The Doublewide. Guess what we found there. Guess. Guess. You'll never guess, so I'll just tell you. We found the COOLEST jukebox I've ever seen!!! It actually downloads the songs like iTunes or something. Seriously! So you just search an artist's name and it gives you all their albums and you pick any of their songs. SO COOL!
RT Amazing Juke Box.jpg

After putting $5 in the jukebox and picking a ton of songs, Taya and I finished the evening off with class, grace and style. We slow danced!!!

In other news...

It's THAT time again - time to send me your nominations for BLOGGER OF THE MONTH!

Happy Tuesday, blog buddies!

Did ya'll have a great Christmas/holiday/Monday yesterday?!? Didya didya? I certainly did!

I went down to my brother's fiance's parents house to celebrate the big day with my mom and we had a GREAT time! In fact, Santa himself was there to greet us as we walked in!

Here's Santa and Louise:
Louise n' Santa.jpg

She looks a little scared of the big guy, don't you think?

Santa brought me a Seahawks hat!!!!
Ross n' Santa.jpg

THANKS, SANTA (even though we lost on Christmas Eve)!

My brother got to sit on Santa's lap, too.
Eric n' Santa.jpg

But the real fun was watching my nephew Kai try to figure Santa out.
Kai n' Santa.jpg

Here's a picture of Ward and Joan, Amy's (my brother's fiance) parents.
Ward Joan and I.jpg

Thanks, Ward and Joan, for a great great great Christmas day!!!

I was really touched this year by how seriously everyone took Louise. I know some people think, "Oh, what's the big deal? She's just a dog..."

Those people suck. Louise is WAY more than "just a dog" to me. She's a soul who makes me happy each and every day.

Seeing my family embrace her the way they do melts my heart. Eric and Amy got her a fancy pink Coach collar! My mom wrapped presents under the tree for her, including snacks and a new pink shawl! My mom's best friend Boni got her doggie bones, a picture frame, and a neat-o travel bowl! Ward and Joan had a stocking hanging with her name on it full of goodies! I love love love that my family takes our bond seriously. It's a good feeling.

In other news...

Today's blog would have been up WAY sooner but I was having computer issues. My computer wouldn't turn on and - for the life of me - I couldn't figure out what the problem was. "Stupid piece of crap" (Only I didn't say "stupid" or "crap").

After about a half an hour of trying to figure it out I realized it wasn't plugged in.

Oopsies!

Until tomorrow, gang!
Ross

... MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS, BLOG BUDDIES!!!

The day we've been waiting for is finally here! Whether you celebrate Christmas or something else or nothing at all, have a great day today!

I'm going down to spend Christmas day with the parents of my brother's fiance (Amy).

Last night we had a mini-celebration at my mom's with friends, family, neighbors, etc. It was SO MUCH FUN!

Before the party, I spent the day madly shopping for gifts. I had a lot of the "big" gifts sent to my mom's house before I got here, but I needed a bunch of "littles". I think I did pretty well! Here I am wrapping gifts yesterday afternoon (just a by-the-way, I'm wrapping a paper towel holder in paper towels - pretty fancy, huh?):
R WRAPPING XMAS.jpg

Here's my nephew, Kai, opening a Seahawks jersey and sweatshirt from my mom:
K SEAHAWKS XMAS.jpg

We're a Seahawks family and, even though they lost yesterday, we're proud fans. Here's Kai with my brother Eric (his dad) and Eric's fiance Amy:
AEK XMAS.jpg

Then my Uncle Kenny and Aunt Carol came over to visit. Uncle Kenny and my dad are responsible for teaching me how to be funny - they were wickedly funny together.
EKCRL XMAS.jpg

Louise was a paw-fect little Christmas dog-ter last night. In fact, she scored a BUNCH of GREAT presents! Here we are in front of the tree:
LR XMAS TREE.jpg

It was SO nice to be back home with my family. Christmas has always been a time for us to pull together as a "unit" and celebrate life. Last night was no different.
MER XMAS.jpg

How was YOUR Christmas Eve? What are YOU doing today?

Have a great day, blog buddies!
Ross

7:30am: Woke up. Walked Louise. Ate breakfast.
8:00am: Showered.
8:30am: Got coffee.
9:00am: Began the process of trying to do all my holiday shopping for all the people in my family in just a few hours. Otherwise known as Mission Impossible.
Noon: Kicked Mission Impossible's ass. Finished ALL my shopping.
Noon thirty: Wrapped presents like a mo-fo.
1:00pm: Started watching the Seahawks game with the fam.
2:30pm: Wrote this blog.

What's next? Drinking. Eating. Opening presents. Frickin' loving the holidays.

Have a great day, blog buddies! Pictures tomorrow!
Ross

... in just a couple hours, blog buddies!

Happy Saturday/the day before the day before Christmas!

I'm in a total rush. I have to leave for the airport in 30 minutes and my clothes are still in the dryer. After a full cycle on the "high heat" setting, the load still wasn't dry. That's probably because I put about 15 pounds of whites and colors combined in the same load trying to save time.

It turns out that doesn't work. Not only might some of my clothes get ruined, it takes like 4 times longer for a large load to dry than a teeny tiny load. Of course, had I planned ahead and done all this yesterday, it wouldn't be an issue.

To my credit, however, I was busy the last 2 days filming Celebrity Fit Club. That and I'm a total procrastinator.

Speaking of, I'm totally running late!!! I have to gather my toiletries and get Louise's stuff together before my clothes dry and I'm off in a hurry to the airport to catch my flight up to Washington State to spend the holidays with my family.

Don't worry blog buddies - the rest of the world may get baby Jesus's b'day off, but I'll be blogging like it's any other Monday (in between eating and opening presents and thanking baby Jesus and eating some more). In fact, I'll be blogging the entire time I'm gone (until Jan. 3rd), so keep checking back here every day!

Okay. I'm SERIOUSLY late. Ooopsies!

Until tomorrow!
Ross

Happy Friday, blog buddies!!!

I am in SUCH a rush. I spent yesterday shooting a "fit camp" for Celebrity Fit Club and today we're shooting the weigh-in ceremony. I have no idea when I'm going to get the crap I need to get done before I leave tomorrow for Washington State to spend the holidays with my family. Things like laundry, packing, sleeping, etc...

Oh well! I'm sure everything will work out.

To be honest, the thing I'm freaking out about the most is that fact that I still have a BUNCH of people to get gifts for and NO time to do it.

So this is my question for you: is getting someone a gift card tacky?

I can't decide. I mean, a gift is a gift is a gift, right? So who cares if it's a gift card, right? But then I think, the whole point of a gift is essentially saying, "I saw THIS and thought of YOU."

I'm worried a gift card might say, "I thought of YOU, freaked OUT that I had NOTHING, so I just got THIS to shut YOU up. Happy Holidays!"

But then again, I love love love getting gift cards. Hmm...

What are YOUR thoughts?

Okay. I seriously seriously seriously have to run.
Until tomorrow!
Ross

Happy Wednesday, blog buddies!

REMINDER!!! Tonight is the night! We're finally airing the segment I shot at the Lumberjack World Championships and, if I do say so myself, it's a pretty darn good one. So stay up or set your alarm clock or your VCR or your TIVO, 'cuz daddy needs ya'll to watch! Click HERE to read the blog from when I was in Wisconsin shooting this segment (and to see the pictures!).

DON'T FORGET TO WATCH TONIGHT AS I TURN INTO "ROSS THE LUMBERJACK"!!!
Ross the Lumberjack.jpg

During the East Coast airing of my segment, I'll be in our CHAT ROOM (click HERE) to watch it with all of you! Come join us - it's easy and fun!

In other news...

Wow-oh-wow, what a day I had yesterday. Seriously. We spent the first part of the day at the Cher auction, and the second part shooting a video montage of Tonight Show announcer John Melendez and I as Sonny and Cher (he as Cher, me as Sonny). I took some pictures of us dressed up in our outfits, but OH MY GOD they are too amazing and I don't want to ruin it by showing you the pictures here! You'll all just have to wait and see the segment for yourself...

OH MY GOD WE LOOKED SO SO SO GOOD! Okay - here's a teeny tiny sneak peak:

sneak peak smaller.jpg

Unreal.

I did, however, manage to take some pictures of my day at the Cher auction. John and I shot the first part of this segment (which will air at the end of the month, I think) last week and needed to come back yesterday to go to the actual auction.

Being there was so so so cool. It was all Cher, all the time (Not that there's anything wrong with that).
picking cher's nose.jpg

For example, here I am standing next to one of the Bob Mackie gowns that Cher wore to the Oscars!
Me with Cher's dress.jpg

See?!?
cher in that dress.jpg

Then it was time to walk in to the actual auction, which was rather intimidating. Rich people were everywhere and would raise their little paddles whenever they wanted to bid on something. John and I, to say the least, did not exactly fit in.
Cher auction.jpg

But we dove in and got into the spirit of auction, "accidentally" spending $700 on a pair of Cher's size 7 polkadot platform shoes. Oopsies! Good thing it wasn't my money!

Here are John and I in our seats:
john n ross auction.jpg

And here's Kevin, our camera operator, as I turn the camera on him. Everyone say, "Hi, Kevin!"
Kevin camera.jpg

Now I'm running to NBC to do a quick voice over, running back to my house to iron something to wear (I'm thinking pinkish and floralish) and trying to find a moment in there to get my hair trimmed - it's suddenly super poofy.

See you all tonight, blog buddies!
Until then,
Ross

This is a reposting of my comment this morning before Ross posted.

*Holy Crapolla Batman*

Bloggers- I just got a message on my you tube account. A reporter is going to use one of my voice overs from one of my videos on L.A. radio. He is doing a segment on the L. A. Gay and Lesbian centers campaign "Aids Is A Gay Disease, Own It, Stop It!!" My oppion is AIDS is NOT a gay disease, it's an everyone disease, Own it, Stop it.

Love you all,
Mikey

ROFLMAO@The Lumberjack song! Berry, I dare ya! Double dare ya! Give us more of the lyrics!

signed

the evil (not to mention massively hung over) whabbear

well, virtually hung over, anyway!

PS: Congrats, Mikey! Maybe Joey can put your voice over into the audio blog?

Awesome Mikey!! I see your name in the article also on their site!
Congrats again!

Sorry for so many posts, but I didn't see whabbear's comment(we were typing at same time..lol)!! EXCELLENT idea Whabbear, and I JUST heard Mikey and got it cued up!! That was easy! LOL..I'll do it in the next 30 minutes!!

Click my smurfy name below for link to the voicemail site! THANKS whabbear!

My first comment: Ross you look like you're picking Cher's nose!

Good for you, Mom for being first. I did that one time.
Ross, as the bridegroom said, tonight's the night. Am looking forward to this. I'll tape so I can see it again tomorrow. Good pics today.
Marty

Ohhh i will be watching and if i can't im setting my dvr now ;)

Wow Mikey that is cool. Just checked out their page. Thanks for the article link, Joey.

Hey Ross - I'm so anxious to finally get to see the Lumberjack segment! And now I'm all hyped about the Sonny & Cher segment! I dare ya to ask Cher for permission to actually pick her nose...LOL!!

Congrats on the radio gig Mikey!!!! That is so cool!!

Hey everyone, Hi Kevin

I'll be late like always and won't see the segment any time soon :/ I just saw the video blog online today, it was really good :) can't wait for the new one to get here or on the internet.

Bloggers- They used my video voice over out of context. I am not dying from this disease yet . I request that no one listens to it.

Thank you,
Mikey

Woo-Hoo Getting Amped up already! Need a nap before Segment airs...Yankee Game 2 is also on....My poor overworked VCR.....Wish I was in the View audience yesterday, they gave away free TiVo's.....Damn, always a Bridesmaid never the Bride Holy Crap Batman!

Hi Kevin!
I too thought it looked like Ross is picking Cher's nose. I thought the saying was "You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friends nose." Ross has proven that wrong!

I'm sorry Mikey. :-(

Unfortunately, people think you are as good as dead when diagnosed as HIV positive. Not you as in YOU, but you in general...you know what I mean. :-)

I was trying to make it look like I was picking Cher's nose! That's why I was laughing in the picture (or should I say "pickture"?).
Ross

LOL-- I thought so too Barbara!
I can't wait to see the segment tonight.
I'll try and stop in chat and visit with you all-- it will really depend on when I get home from work. My coworker and I are taking all 22 clients out to dinner to celebrate a few Birthdays ~ Talk about Crazy but it will be Fun!

LOL @ "pickture"!!!

" If I could turn back ti-uhm..If I could find a way-uh..."
LOL! Gotta love Cher! ;)

The teaser pic of Sonny is so damn funny...I can just imagine what the both of you look like in your costumes!

I'm looking forward to seeing you tonight! I'll have the popcorn ready! ;)

Love ya,
Sarah

Wow!
Ross & Lost in one night. I can't wait

Ross just read your post and had to look again at the picture-- LMAO!!

I just read my bulletin from Ross~ Joey-- love the flyer that you made up for Ross for tonight-- you da man!!!

Holy Carpe Diem Batman! Seize the day and go get ready for your segment and taping. FUN! It is always fun to know what you are going to wear (pinkish and floralish) and then see your choice. Kinda like we get a backstage pass to all this TTS stuff.

The Cher episode sounds like a LOT of fun! Can't wait to see it. And I don't think the people at the auction were necessarily wealthy folks looking to add to their wardrobe. I bet it is people representing museums, Hard Rock Cafe and other places where Cher items will be appreciated. So YOU and John definitely fit in with the crowd! But I agree with Joey... who gets the polka dotted shoes? (Do they fit anyone? Did you try them on?)

See you all in chat tonight!!

Dang....
HI KEVIN!

Dang it twice...

Berry and Mom, get back to work! ;^)

hi Ross,

i have my tivo set for you***
what fun it is when you are on

peace& smiles

~ Debbie~

Hey Ross, cant wait to see you on the tonight show. I never miss it :)

Take care everyone!

Ross I so caught that you were trying to pick Cher's nose in that picture...to funny! Glad you had fun at the auction!

I won't get to be in chat for the east coast showing, and hopefully I will get to be home for the west coast, but if not my "TIVO" is set up to record the show anyways!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday Everyone!!

HI KEVIN!!!

Hugges and Kisses

Picking Cher's nose picture-so funny-I didn't even catch that at first!

Below on my smurfy name is the link to see the Monty Python Lumberjack song/video for those of you who didn't get the myspace bulletin from me! ENJOY!
Thanks Rose! Glynis-you're so funny!! LMAO
Joey:)

Ross, that is just so wrong that you tease us about the Sonny and Cher bit and then you won't show us a pic. Oh well, I KNOW that this one will be worth waiting for! Good luck today.

When I lived in MN TTS came on at 10:30, here in CA it is 11:30. I hate that. I'm going to record it just in case I can't stay up. Besides, my daughter loves your segments, so I should be a good mom and record it for her, too.

I haven't watched Leno all week. Looking forward to it tonight, I'll look out for Ross, (only if the Yankees are finished their game).
Let's Go Yankees!

Hi Kevin! Nice shirt, when I first looked at the picture the white part on your shoulder and around the bottom looked like Saran Wrap, because it looks shiny, then I realized what it was. LOL

Joey, I was ROFLMAO at the Monty Python video. How appropriate for tonights segment.

Kandle Freak, Hope it's cooler there today. What town do you live in? I know you live 45 minutes from Wichita? (You can tell me in code if you want.LOL I'm from GB where the arKANSAS River runs through town with the big bend.

Peeps, Can't wait to see Ross the Lumberjack tonight!!

Good thing you weren't looking a Cher's THONG! It wouldn't be her nose you were pickin' then.   HOLLA Kevin and Daria too!
OMG! I hope the Yankee Game is over by then with a Yankee Win of Course, I would hate to have to choose my allegiance! Yankees----->Ross, Ross-------->Yankees...If TiVo would sponsor me for all the free advertising I give them it wouldn't be a problem.... I'll never tell!

OMG! Cheeseheads and Mullets

Hey Mrs. eHarmony - it is definitely MUCH cooler here after record highs yesterday. And "here" would be right next door to where you're from - I'm in Hutchinson! No wonder we have been complaining about the same "weather woes", huh? LOL It's o.k. that people know since it's on my blog & candle website too.
:-)

Man, I really hope I can make it home in time to see y'all in chat tonight...and of course to see the show!! If not, have fun guys, be good, and if you're not good, be good at it, and if you're really really bad....name it after me!!! Oh and Bisc, if I don't get a chance to talk to ya tonight, have fun at your concert tomorrow night!!! Joey, you're frickin crazy, but thats why I heart you!!! Janet....I only have 2 words for you, and as a Red Sox fan, it kills me to say this....Go Yankees!!! Bee Gees, make sure you keep everyone in order tonight, and keep on keepin on with your bad selves!! Annie, hope your headache's gone!! and last but not least Mom...if you need a cyber hug, I'm only a click away!!! Have a great night y'all!!! love.peace.chicken grease

If ONLY Jay Leno had scheduled Michael Palin to be a guest tonight!

To those of you I failed to name in my previous post, I humbly apologize. I'm really frickin excited about the concert, and my mind isn't exactly in good working order right now. Its not a case of forgetting you, cuz trust me, I could never do that. Please don't be offended, I heart you all. Have fun tonight!! I'm goin to BEP baby........weeeeeeeeeooooooooooooooooooooo!! Congrats to Mom on being 1st today!!

Ross, love the "pickture". Hope you had hand sanitizer on hand....well, you know what I mean.

"Hi, Kevin"!!! Oh, Ross, he's reminiscent of Kurt Russell. This is my restrained way of saying "Kev's a hottie"!!!! ;)

Biscy, hope you're not too sore from having to bounce out our poor dear Whabby from the Silver Fox Resort & Casino. Does this nurse smell a "work comp claim" coming down the pike?

Have a great evening, folks!! Hope to catch y'all in chat!!!!! :)

jno

Jen²: I hope you make it back in time from the B.E.P. concert to join us in chat!(Hopefully the "squared" lil symbol shows up..hehe-too much free time I know)!LMAO
Isn't it about time for a behind the scenes blog?!LOL
P.S. We ♥ you too Jen²! LOL

Hi Kevin!
Hi Ross!
Hi MomRoss!
Hi Bloggers!
Sorry, I'm too sleepy to make it until 11:30. I pray that my VCR works. I'll miss you all in chat. I KNOW I'm going to love tonight's segment & I know I'm going LOVE the segment about Sonny & Cher, probably even more. I can hardly wait!

and jac, I can't BELIEVE I forgot about mullets and cheesheads! oh my!
as another Red Sox fan, I will add my GO YANKEES!! to the mix!

Great segment with the lumberjacks! Wish I would have taped it. So, Ross...which guy did you think was hottest? The blonde who climbed the pole, the dark-haired guy with the goatee who threw the axe, or the other dark-haired guy who ran across the logs.

I think all of them were positively edible, but I liked the axe-thrower the best. Totally sexy guy. I'll bet they all smelled nice and manly, too!

Thanks Ross for another great segment. I won't give out any of the details for those who are waiting for the show
except that I had a good laugh with "MAKE A WISH"!!!!

I officially have my tivo set recording right now.

just to prove the love, i kicked one of my beloved national geographic shows off from recording because it was in the way of rossy poo.

Have a good night!
Kathryn

hmm oh well
