Good morning, blog buddies!

It's an early blog today because I'm off to the airport in a few minutes to catch a flight to Charlotte, North Carolina to to shoot a Tonight Show segment about me learning how to be a member of the pit crew for NASCAR!

We tried something fun here at the blog last time I went on a trip. I like to call it a ROSS BLOG FIELD TRIP!

Here's how it works:

In just a few minutes, I'll get in the car for the airport. I'll continue blogging about my entire journey through LA traffic, through the x-ray machines, checking my luggage - the whole deal. Where and how will I do this? In the COMMENT section of this blog entry using my Blackberry. So keep me company at the airport, blog buddies! Go to the COMMENT section (at the end of this blog entry) and blog back and fourth with me as we take a ROSS BLOG FIELD TRIP!

I had to drop Louise off at my best friend's house last night - she watches Louise whenever I leave town. Here's a picture of me being sad and Louise having NONE of it.

But we kissed and made up.

I miss her already!

I am the same way, last minute packer, simply because packing is not fun in any way, shape or form. I hope the flight goes well for you.

On your way to NC huh? That's pretty close to me. I'm in VA Beach, VA okay well it's not terribly close but it's closer then you were. Saw the show last night it was sooo funny! Annie - I knew one of my father's children would be in radio. He use to wake us at the crack to go sit with Spike O'Dell when he did radio here in the Quad Cities, then we would go back to Spikes house and eat donuts!! LOL. One of us were destined, no doubt!!

Ross you should really come to Minot ND Sunday night we are having a airing party for Extreme Makeover Home Edition and family here received a new home back in August and the show is airing this Sunday. It's going to be a blast.

I tape the shows that you are on so I can have a good laugh days after. Loved the show. Toooo funny.

Hey, Ross and bloggers, I discovered something a couple of weeks ago while on travel that you may be able to use. Not sure if you take a laptop with you, but I do, and I can't stand to be off the internet even while waiting for a plane any more (chat is a FANTASTIC way to pass the time while waiting in a terminal... see below)! Anyway, airport terminals are irritating places because they are almost all hot now, but you have to pay for hookup... typically 10 or even 20 dollars for 24 hours of access.

The terminal I was stuck in at Houston Intercontinental a couple of weeks back didn't have any of these public access networks. I was devastated! No access? What would I DO with myself? Luckily, an airport employee gave me a tip: Find a seat or a space close to one of the frequent flyer lounges, like the "Red Carpet Club" (United). They always have a free network for their clients, and anyone can link up if they are in close enough proximity.

And guess what? It worked like a charm! I found a seat across from the Continental lounge and was able to chatter with Meghan, right up until my flight, for free!!!!

Of course, I'll be trying this out in all the terminals from now on!

Ross, I'm having such a hard time concentrating at work knowing you are going to be right here in Charlotte! I have so much work to do, I SO shouldn't be on here! This is so exciting because I love love loved you on the Tonight Show like everytime and I said to myself "I'll finally check the blog." and it's interactivey today. Gorgeous.

We also had a dual Cher experience last night, as not an hour before your segment aired, my roommate told me all about how he saw Cher and Jack Nicholson when he was a little kid and his mom took him to the taping of the Witches of Eastwick.

Hope I don't just get lost in all the posts, you are just fabulous. And I would buy you a pomegranate martini if i lived in new york and not boston.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that although I live less than 2 hours from Charlotte, the only time I've ever been there was for a shoulder replacement surgery 5 years ago. I still can't use that darned arm, so STAY AWAY FROM THE SURGEONS!!

I live in NC and it's nice today but, this weekend it's going to be cooler, in the 60's during the day and 30's in the evening. Just to warn you the weather sucks here!! The cold here feels different because it's so humid. I love the cold in my hometown of Denver but not so much here in NC!! At least I have an excuse to wear my cute sweaters!

I guess you are flying above our beautiful country at this very moment. Hope it is a wonderful flight and they treat you well. Were you allowed any liquids this time, or are they still strict about that?

I am so sorry I missed the live chat last night, but my neighbor called while we were eating dinner and asked me to drive to the hospital with her. It is a 40 minute drive to this particular hospital and she wanted a car buddy... she had to take her daughter's "poop" to the lab for tests. We never laughed so much!! It was fun... and then we stopped off at Target and got Halloween decorations. But I DID watch the segment a few times and loved it!! When you came on screen dressed as Sonny, Berry and I laughed so hard. It was really fun!! John was a scary Cher though... what's up with the eyes John? Scary!

If Joey isn't commenting on the blog, it can only mean one thing... he is high tailing his way out of SC and is headed to Charlotte to meet you! Look out Ross... Bucky is on his way! (LMAO for Joey.)

Mikey, sorry i've been MIA lately!! i do actually sometimes have to work (though i do have an unhealthy and time consuming obsession with this blog and you bloggers, so i can't stay away for too long!) i've just had a big deadline (cross fingers that it went well and will launch in time) and now i can focus on the blog and the other project that Ross and i are working on together: The John and Ross Show! The buzz officially starts now...we will keep you posted as we get closer to launch!

love the tip for upgrading to first class! i actually just got upgraded to premium class on my flight cross-atlantic because we were so delayed on our trip out, and it made a WORLD of difference on the 11 hour flight!!

Hey, suggestion for the blog. When I come here, sometimes it takes a really long time to load up the page. Maybe you could talk to the blog techs (the ones that make sure everything works) and get them to incorporate a feed. I know that I would love to be able to get to the blog reading quicker, because you are so great.

OKay... Ummm I hope I don't get myself blacklisted or anything, but... umm well, I hate to speak for Carlos as I wouldn't speak for anyone but I TOOK his comments as being sorta silly and I didn't get upset. I mean come on you gotta admit though we are all fans of Ross some of us (on both "sides") are a tad dramatic, well more than a tad. I think it would be funny to get everyone on a flight, as long as we can laugh through the drama and have fun anyway. Besides, REACTING to what Carlos said is in itself adding to, if not creating the drama.

Anyway, I just look at Carlos's statements as entertainment for the day, especially now since I think he has toned it down a bit. Maybe Carlos was trying to hurt people, I don't know, but I read it as just poking a little fun. If you can't laugh at yourself who can you laugh at? Well there is my two cents, I still think you all are great and I do think this "place" should stay positive, I just think that THESE PARTICULAR posts of Carlos were not taking away from the normal Ross-place-joy.

Jac ~ How fast can you get to Chicago? Tonight is the Stones concert and I am giving up my ticket. The hubby wants to take the Princess in my place, but I don't know if I can find her snowsuit in time.

It's an outdoor concert and it's supposed to snow!

It is very foggy here in the NYC area. It looks like the helicopter/small plane most likely hit the apartment building by accident. It seems like an accident, not intentional, but time will tell for sure.

I usually pack wayyyyy too early and continue packing and unpacking untill I go.. and I always over pack.

Great tip about the free internet, the worst wait I had was when I was going to see my boyfriend when he was in Irland. I had an 11 hour lay-over in stansted, London. it was a whole lot better because my boyfriend flew over and waited with me. But we had nothing to do except stare at our bags because neither of us felt like going to sleep and leaving the other one to watch the bags.

You may take a one (1) quart clear zip bag on board with liquids and gels in it. All liquids and gels must be 3oz. or less otherwise it has to be in your checked baggage or discarded.
You may take any beverages you purchase past the security checkpoint on the plane.

I only know this stuff because I work at a credit union branch that is inside the Salt Lake International Airport.

not only is there no joey and over a 100 hits but there is no sign of ross either. wonder if his blackberry made it ok. :) i did read that he was going to blog after he landed. how long of a flight is it from la to nc? maybe he could be busy looking for another starbucks. rofl poor old ross and his need for starbucks. my husband is just as bad with tim hortons here in newfoundland. its a very well known coffee place all over canada. :) I can't stomach tim horton's coffee but their steeped tea or hot chocolate is yummy. but i do love a steamed flavored hot milk at starbucks. see ross you can do a segment here, we have a starbucks ajacent to chapters bookstore, you can pick any type of book from chapters and sit down and enjoy your favorite starbucks beverage. :) plus i do believe they have internet feed there to. so hey what are you waiting for. would love to see you get "screeched in". all i can say it involves screech, which is a jamican rum, cod, and some other fabulous items. rofl. i promise everyone who would watch it will pee in their pants laughing. rofl anywho, i hope you land safe and sound ross, hope to hear about your plane ride and oh of course whatever happened to those cher's shoes? :) happy landing.

it was an apartment building, on the upper west side, an area predominantly apartment buildings of a similar size. Many people would have been at work. Its no where near where Jacny lives

I think Ross will be landing any minute now. It takes time to fly from coast to coast people - be patient! If he was on a direct flight he would just now be getting in. If he had a layover I bet we would have heard from him by now.

As many of you know, I’ve been planning a trip to California for a while now in the hopes of seeing Ross make an appearance on the tonight show. Well, a couple of days ago I got in my car and headed off, leaving my mother to watch the kids. I’ve seen so much of the country that my dear husband, Dexter, has been fighting for. It’s been one amazing trip, although I haven’t made it to California yet…nor do I plan on reaching that destination any time soon. You see, I made a stop in Las Vegas. It’s my first time here and I believe I’ve truly found the place for me to be. Today I gambled in a casino for the first time in my life and won $18! It was truly thrilling, afterward I used the money on my first ever taste of alcohol. Then I gambled some more, didn’t win anything but hopefully I’ll make up my losses tonight. Right now I’m skimming through a local paper, hunting for roommate ads. I’ve decided to leave Iowa and all of my cares behind; I’m going to go to bartending school. I also met a wonderful man named Roy-whose single I might add. Unfortunately that doesn’t leave much time for me to keep up with Ross or you bloggers that I’ve come to love so much. So I’d like to thank all of you for welcoming me with such open arms and hearts, but it’s time for me to move on. Ross, just know that I’ll always have a special place in my heart just for you. NASCAR Rules!

I hope you're having a good time despite the reported rain. I didn't log in earlier today, had too much going on. Now there are too many comments to read (sorry gang!)

Pit crew training is tough, and the job is a lot harder than it looks like. I never did duty as a NASCAR pit member, but I pitted for my Dad for years after I turned 16 and could get into the pits during races.

You have to be strong, fast, and smart. A lot of races are won or lost during pit stops.

ROSS - when you get back, ask me about driving a real vintage race car. I know Jay has tons of them while I have only one - but I just bought another for my wife, so we have two fun toys now.

Hers: 1967 Fiat Abarth CG100 (Campione Del Mondo edition) that we just got from my Dad who had it for 25+ years. It will need some TLC to bring it back to perfection, but you have to remember that Fiat tried out new Ferrari designs on their street cars, and Abarth in Italy is like Shelby in the U.S. :-)

Mine: 1964 Volvo PV544 (see it on my website) that I'm slowly upgrading to modern standards using all-Volvo parts. This model of Volvo was world champion in the World Rally circuits in the early 1960's. Nothing could beat them. My Dad and I built a lot of these cars into dirt-track racers in the mid-1970's and won an awful lot of races all over southern California and Nevada. I bought my Volvo on eBay because it was the type of car I grew up with. It still takes me at least a 1/2 hour to buy gas because of all the people who want to talk about it!

If your spouse is in Iraq, unless you are hurting horribly, your financial situation shouldn't be bad. They make quite a bit of extra money while they are over there and it's all tax free! Hey all, I know that most of the time I am a lurker (sorry) but I feel like I don't have much to say most of the time.

I read that thing about Pam and I was really questioning it but the first few posts after that were all supportive, so I thought, well, maybe I missed something before I came onto this site and started posting...but then people started questioning it too. If she is still married...then shame on her even if her husband is away and she is having financial hardships...Vegas is NOT the place to solve that! And leaving her kids w/her mom??? Is she crazy? I have two kids and no matter how tough things were, I would never leave them.

And my hubby is a Captain in the Army...I know if he went overseas (thank God he hasn't had to yet) that I could pay all our bills and still have tons of money left over. That is on an officer's pay, but I know even on an enlisted pay, you still get a good deal of money!!! So, I think Pam is full of poop and the post was a punk!

that power to the poop is so funny. i had a similar story regarding poop and our 4 year old. he was in the bathroom yesterday, hubby went inand wondered what in the world was taking him so long. he said i am trying to do my poop. the next thing he yells out from the bathroom, mommmy my poop wont come out, i am getting so frustrated. my hubby tells him to relax and it might happen. next thing we hear daddyyyyy its not working. i tried to relax but its not working, i am getting soooooooooooooo frustrated with my poop, it just won't come out. poor thing. rofl to hear a 4 year old become frustrated with his poop too funny. hope its not tmi. :)
