I've already posted a blog entry for today (scroll down and see below), but like I do after every segment of mine airs on the show, I'm posting a 2nd entry today so you can all see what went on today behind-the-scenes. Who takes care of his blog buddies?!? I do!

After I went into the office early this morning to record some more voice over for tonight's segment, I went shopping for something to wear on the show tonight. My signature look is always the same - bright floral or paisley shirt, jeans and possibly a blazer. I was kind of in the mood to shake things up a bit today so I was THRILLED when I found a chocolate brown shirt (a pretty muted color for me) with - get this - little dog paws printed all over it. Seriously! And guess what else. IT WAS ON SALE FOR $20!!! Seriously! Here's a close up of one of the little paw prints:

Kinda cute, right? And kinda weird, too... in a good way.

Then I went back to NBC and settled into my dressing room. I don't care how many times I'm on the show - it's always surreal to walk into a Tonight Show dressing room with your name on the door and The Tonight Show logo on the monitor.

This was a very special Tonight Show segment for me because it involved my paw-fect little dog-ter, Louise. (Click HERE for a behind-the-scenes video of the day we shot tonight's segment!) In fact, it was extra special because I got to bring her with me to the show today! Here she is right when we got to NBC. You can totally tell that she can totally tell that something's up.

After rehearsal, Tonight Show announcer and my good friend John Melendez stopped by to wish me luck. How nice, right?!?

The part when I go out on stage with Jay before the segment airs is always lightly scripted - we write the basic structure of what we'll say, but when we're out on stage we always make it up as we go. For some reason, however, I always memorize the script anyway. Here I am after I changed into the dog paw shirt and a blazer going over my lines.

Then Roberta, the stage manager, came to get me and tell me it was time to go on. You guys - it will never be "normal" to be backstage of The Tonight Show knowing that Jay Leno is about to call your name. It's like the biggest rush ever. This time Louise got experience the rush, too - she got to come on stage with me!

I may be used to the high-paced world of show business, but Louise isn't. After the show, she was pooped.

In fact, I'm kinda pooped, too. I think I'm just going to stay in tonight and watch TV. Kinda boring, right? Oh well.

I have to say I was shopping today at an outlet store, and while looking at clothes for Hubby, I found myself drawn to certain long sleeved shirts...I swear one of these days I'm going to end up buying one, and I'll send it to the Tonight Show for you!!!

I wouldnt call attention Tacitus' negative comment. It just goes to show you how uncofortable he/she is with gays on a whole. Any one who feels negatively about gays or lesbians has their own self issues that they need to over come, and in life, those issues with one create problems for said person.

I disagree with you that Ross is being ridiculed. Although I can't speak for Ross, I believe he is comfortable being who he is and part of who he is is a funny person. Comedians are not known to portray themselves as dignified. I am sincerely sorry that you are offended by Ross' segments.

I do get your point about the blackface but for the record I am Caucasian. I am a woman and there are lots of jokes that make fun of women and portray them in a negative light. If they are funny, I laugh. If not, I ignore it....afterall it is only a joke.

I have to weigh in on the gay bashing... While I like to tease and poke fun at Ross, I have this to say...

I find it true that Jay Leno uses the gay stereotype to have people laugh at instead of laugh with. I also feel that Ross plays into that.

I feel that Ross is the perfect example of why people are homophobic. He is just so over the top. And Jay Leno doen't help this.

This type of behavior leads to events like Matthew Sheppard. I am all for people having a choice, but how about acting like men.

This flamboyance is sad, and the real victim here is the dog. Animals are hot as it is due to their fur, but to have a sweater on under hot studio lights, is a bit much.

Hey, everybody! I couldn't believe the level in frenzy in Rosschat last night during the East Coast feed of the segment! We "Best" Coasters (thanks, Glynnis!) totally lose out on this! Luckily, I am in the East this weekend (see below), so I got to experience it (while watching the segment) first hand.

This morning? Just hanging out at my Kingston B&B before the Saturday Homecoming madness ramps up. Parades, football game, pub, dinner, possible massive out-of-control street party... as some of the Canadian Bloggers will well know, Queen's Alumni Weekend has it all!

Wow..amazing how a few bad apples can "try to" spoil the whole bunch. Anyone that knew Ross would know that he is 100% genuine, and LOVES what he does! How many people can say that they LOVE their job, and look forward to going to work every day? Not many. I think that it is wonderful that Ross has fulfilled many dreams while other dreams are still coming true. I have talked to Ross on the phone ( it was for an interview) and the passion that he has for his job totally radiated over the phone. I wish that there were more "Ross"es out there in the world. Can you imagine how much peace and laughter there would be? :)

Last night was a TOTAL Depends night! OMG...from the VS model knowing Louise's name, to the dance moves, the 2 cherries at one time ( I damn near peed on myself then! OKAY... I just caught up on all the posts I'd missed since moving. And this is all I have to say... ROBOBUG... SICK! That is why winter in Canada is GOOD... Bugs DIE. And, I must say I LOVE the fish toilet.

I absolutely loved the segment. I laughed so much. I was so impressed by Louises's behavior around all the people, bright lights, etc. My Bo would not have done so good. He would have wanted to get down, run around meeting all the people and barking. Miss Louise was cool as a cucumber. I guess that she gets it from her daddy. Ross, you always cheer me up and make me laugh, whether it's on the Tonight Show, or in the blog. I know that besides being funny, you are a real person with a big heart. I spent the week in the hospital and came home on friday feeling wicked tired and cranky (mainly because of the yucky hospital garb...ew!) you my dear, you're just so funny and cute as a button!
