Farewell

Silvana- I just want to say thank you for taking the time to post your questions. Just keep watching until the end! Thank you for everything. Soap opera fans are the best fans on earth because they follow you around and wish you the best. I get comments and emails on my MySpace page and they are so sweet and love you like you are part of their family. Thank you! WE LOVE YOU GUYS!

Dylan- I think Silvana said it best. Thanks for watching, we'll continue to entertain and fill you with suspense for as long as we can.

Passions Cancellation

Silvana- I was sad, the cast and crew are like a family to me. All of my closest friends in this city are on the show. As a fan, I was disappointed because I love the show. I hope they end it in an original way. I hope the characters end happy and Alistair can appear for some final moments.

Dylan- The grass is always greener. When we thought the show was going to be on forever, moaning and groaning, we would think, "Man, if I wasn't here, I could be on a movie set", but in reality, I am sad. This is the definition of living the dream. You wake up every morning, hang out with cool people and do what you love. I do it five days a week, get paid to do it and work with great people, like Silvana. You become a family with the people you work with. Upside is as an actor, you want to play different parts. I am looking forward to what's coming up next. Downside is that I really look up to the fellow actors. It will be sad when it's all over.

Do we watch the show?

Dylan- I watch the show everyday. Tivo is a wonderful thing. Some people don't like watching their work, I do. But, I actually have the live feed in my dressing room and I'll tape the entire feed. I'll watch every single take when I am working with a new person. I learned this when working with Emily. Because Emily is so sweet, she won't say something if she sees something she doesn't like. So, with the feed, I can tell what scenes she really liked or didn't like.

Silvana- Of course I watch the show! We don't see the take on set, we just tape and go. In telenovelas, everybody watches the scenes so you re-do it if you don't like it. As an actor, you should see yourself and how you did on screen. Sometimes, you think you did a great scene, but when you watch it, you might have a different opinion. Also, when you have a storyline with another actor, you want to see how the chemistry looks on screen. I did this when I first started working with Dylan. I am a fan of the show, so that's why I watch it!

A typical day on the set of Passions

Silvana- The girls have to get there an hour before the guys for make-up and hair. We get there, we rehearse, we tape...and eat! Go to people's dressing rooms to talk and to run lines. It depends on the call sheet.

Dylan- The girls do have to get there early, around 6:30 and we start rehearsing at 7:15. I wake up at 7:10 and get there and rehearse. We do about a hour of that, then we go to make up and hair. We listen to loud music to wake-up and then visit with people on the set and talk about gadgets, cars and vacations. Today is a great example, if the day is going fast, we have a gym on the lot, I'll fit in a work-out. Three other Passions actors were there and we all got lunch afterwards. I'll miss that the most, you see these great people and bond with them and these are people you would not have run into if not for the show. Oh yeah, but you CAN'T skateboard on the lot. I got in trouble for that by eight security guards.

Advice on speaking Spanish but learning English Lines

Silvana- Photographic memories are the key. What I do to memorize my lines is I have somebody say them to me first, so I know how to pronounce them. That's what I did when I auditioned for Passions. It was three pages of dialogue. I called my best friend and she read the lines to me five times and that's how I memorized my lines. I have a photographic memory. I can turn the pages in my mind and that has helped me a lot.

Actors we look up to

Dylan- I have three actors in mind. As actors, we try to find mentors to be like. My three, not in this order are Billy Crudup, Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon. It's about how they approach their work, they try things that are obscure and possibly disasterous. Of course, I idolize this wonderful actress, Silvana. She's the star to my wandering ship.

Silvana- There are a lot of actors that have inspired me. Especially the Latinos who have left everything in their country to be actors in this country. I admire a lot of actors that are known and unknown. I can list over one hundred people. I love my acting coach, I admire a lot actors because of the way they work and as they are in real life. Any actor that works with passion is an inspiration. It's always a pleasure to work with people like Dylan.

Noah and Fancy

Dylan- I am not going to answer who's the better kisser, Fancy or Paloma. Here's the thing, imagine the difference in the characters. You can tell the different styles. No one is a better kisser. It's like comparing the greatest country singer to the greatest rapper. Emily may be P.Diddy and Silvana may be Garth Brooks. That's all.

It's funny, when Noah and Fancy broke up, both Emily and I thought we would not see so much of each other on stage. They have written it so thatwe are avoiding one another like in real life after a break up. I miss working with Emily. We came on the show at the same time. It was like being on a movie set, because I only worked with her. We actually went to Vegas and shot scenes together. Emily and I are still great friends, but we don't work together as much.

Silvana- I will say this, even though the question was not directed to me...I am a fan of Noah and Fancy. A lot of people don't know that, but I always tell Dylan that Noah should be with Fancy. I love them together and they have great chemistry. But, I love my storyline with Dylan.

How do we relate to our characters?

Silvana- I love my character. She's very similar to me. She comes from a Spanish background and she thinks she can be in charge of any situation and it's not true. I think I can handle every situation, but a lot of times I don't know what to do. I am very happy with my character, I love her!

Dylan- It's interesting, Noah has had a journey. He started out as a sleazy grifter from Vegas and he's turned into a really family oriented all-American guy. Each layer of him that gets uncovered, I find a quality that I really love. He's very honorable. I wish Noah could get an evil twin every once in a while.

Silvana- After three years of playing the same character, your character starts doing things that you would do. It's so comfortable to play it. Sometimes, the characters become more similar to the actor.

Dylan- It's fun, because the characters can get away with things you can't get away with in real life.

Embarrassing moments

Dylan- There is a director here who I went to Vegas with. He's a mentor. He works very fast and professional, one day, I had to burst into a nursery to rescue Jane, and I had to bust through the door to save the baby. It was supposed to be set up so the door was rigged and I would avoid injury. I was getting pumped for the scene. When I FLEW through the door, I hit the door sooo fast that I literally went thru the nursery to another set and landed on my bum! Everybody was laughing. Really, I looked like a dork. That was the most embarrassing moment.

Silvana- Because English is my second language, I think every single day is embarrassing, because there is always a new word I don't know. It's embarrassing to ask a director what a word means. But, if you ask about a particular story: I had to be in a pool for Telemundo in Miami, I was wearing a tiny bikini and when I swam to the other side of the pool, my bikini was gone! I had to scream for somebody to find my bikini in the pool!

Dylan: I have a good Silvana story. Whenever we are on set and can't think of our next line, most of the actors call out, "Line!". When Silvana is drawing a blank on her next word, she doesn't call "line", she will be in the middle of the scene and say, "Como?!"

February 12, 04:07 PM

When did we we know about acting?

Silvana- Since I was very little, I wanted to be an actor. My dad is an actor. Me and my sisters used to act all the time in front of our families. I used to rehearse in front of the mirror. I also wanted to be a fashion designer. My grandmother used to make all our Barbie clothes and eventually I went to fashion school. I didn't go to acting school, but I had my dad. I am always learning. Especially, after working with such talented actors like Dylan. I learn something everyday.

Dylan- My parents encouraged me. It was never a conscience choice, it's what I did and where my strengths were. I went to a college that specialized in performing arts. Afterwards, I was lucky to get a job in it. It's also one of those things, you are always trying to get better. It's so subjective that you are always finding something to work at.

February 12, 04:03 PM

Chemistry- Kissing Scenes

Silvana- People think that we think about the kissing a lot, and that's the less important part about the scene. You are remembering lines at the same time. You are thinking about a lot of other stuff. Our first kiss was under the mistletoe and it was so fast. We didn't even talk about the first kiss, we just taped it. We didn't talk about it before or after.

Dylan- Every kiss is as exciting as the first time. That's the best part of kissing scenes, you have no time to think about it. You don't think about how you are going to kiss.

Silvana- About being friends off-air, of course we are friends! When you work with someone that much, you get to know them.

Dylan- We get along very well and it's a plus! I would call Silvana my friend.

February 12, 04:00 PM

On Switching Characters...

Dylan - I would be Precious. LOL. Really, I would play Norma, even Spike. A character who does crazy stuff. Noah does fun stuff, but it would be crazy to do witchcraft. JT would be fun, jump out of a cake.

Silvana- I would like to be Tabitha or Endora. I always wanted to be a witch. Or maybe Kay.

February 12, 03:58 PM

Telenovela vs. Soaps

The main difference is the soaps are taped inside a studio. Telenovelas are taped outside. Some of them are on location. They take more time to tape. Telanovelas last 6 months to a year. The storylines are very similar, everybody cries, everybody loves, everybody dies. It's not that much different.

Passions Message Boards

Dylan: I actually have read the message boards. Every once in a while I do go on to see what people are saying.
Silvana- This morning, Dylan and I were talking about the boards. I check every one of the message boards, I like to know what fans are saying. I check the NBC message boards.
