The Today Show
October 26, 2007Thursday night was so much fun that we were surprised how quickly Friday morning had arrived. We can already hear the crowds of fans from our hotel room and quickly realize that the mob has lined up early to catch a glimpse of their favorite Scranton tourists make an appearance on the Today Show. We followed the cast with an early call to University of Scranton where they are about to be interviewed by the one and only Al Roker.
The cast, which consisted of Angela, Leslie, Kate, Brian, Bobby Ray, Phyllis, Oscar, Craig and Creed were greeted with presents from the university, including sweatshirts, hats, and t-shirts in shades of the school colors, purple and grey. When the live show actually tossed to the scene in Scranton, pandemonium broke loose. The scene only got wilder when the cast took turns encouraging the crowd to sing, chant and dance along with them.
After the Today show wrapped up, we headed back to the hotel to grab some breakfast, debrief what was on our busy schedule and let the actors rest in their hotel rooms or take mini-tours of Scranton. Meanwhile, Brian and Angela braved the chilly Pennsylvania weather to give satellite interviews outside.
