The Office Concert
October 28, 2007After dinner was done, some of the actors went back to the hotel to prepare to take the stage at Lackawanna College for some live music. The audience at the concert was treated to some very special performances that included Kate singing the Pat Benatar classic, “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”, Melora singing The Pussycat Dolls' “Buttons”, and Ed singing his own take on a Warren Zevon classic that he had re-named, “Werewolves of Scranton”.
It was very obvious the performance that made the ladies swoon the most was from the one and only Craig Robinson who treated fans to a performance he had done earlier at Whistles karaoke, Cameo’s “Word Up”. He followed that with the Knarls Barkley song, “Crazy”, all of this while gyrating his hips and making the crowd scream louder. Brian then took the stage with The Scrantones to sing “Roxanne” by The Police. Of course, everybody knew Brian’s character Kevin, also belonged to a Police cover band in Scranton. Keeping in mind, that while the songs were being performed on stage, Angela and Oscar were in front of us dancing “The Robot” for the eager audience to see.
The show closed when The Scrantones played The Office theme and the entire cast of actors that were at the concert rushed the stage and danced for their screaming fans. Brian even took over the drum set to assist and in true rock star fashion, threw his drumsticks into the audience when finished. The crowd went wild. For a lot of the actors, this was their last night in Scranton and they wanted to go out with a bang. They certainly did!
