A Fond Farewell

October 29, 2007

Our time in Scranton, Pennsylvania was nothing short of amazing. Every business we encountered was incredibly accommodating to our security needs; the fans were respectful and showed their support for the show in the kindest of ways from t-shirts to signs.

Back at the hotel

October 28, 2007

Most of the cast chose to unwind after an exhausting day by returning back to the suite at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, grabbing a bite to eat and drink and collapsing in chairs while taking in game three of the World Series. Massachusetts native BJ paid extra attention to the game and celebrated with every run the Red Sox scored. One by one, the very sleepy cast went back to their hotel rooms to pack and say goodbye to the city that gave them such a warm welcome.

The Office Concert

October 28, 2007

After dinner was done, some of the actors went back to the hotel to prepare to take the stage at Lackawanna College for some live music. The audience at the concert was treated to some very special performances that included Kate singing the Pat Benatar classic, “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”, Melora singing The Pussycat Dolls' “Buttons”, and Ed singing his own take on a Warren Zevon classic that he had re-named, “Werewolves of Scranton”.

Banquet Dinner

October 27, 2007

It is hard to imagine that one show can inspire thousands of people from all over the world to make the pilgrimage to a small city in Northeast Pennsylvania. The city gave us a very big thank you by hosting a VIP dinner for the cast, crew and NBC executives. It was amazing how grateful Scranton was as a whole, but even more, it was awe-inspiring that a small group of people had a dream of making such an event as The Office Convention happen and it did! At dinner, you could hear members of the cast talk about how this event had moved them.

Over 3,000 people managed to score seats to the highly anticipated Talent Q&A session in the University of Scranton gymnasium. After watching The Office highlights, the eager audience quickly rose to their feet when the scheduled talent showed up and took their seats on the stage.

Office Olympics

October 27, 2007

We had a minor setback with the rain and preparing for the Office Olympics. But the wonderful volunteers from the University of Scranton acted quickly on their feet and moved the games inside the gymnasium. From Flonkerton to Skeet Schruting, the competition was fierce as 200 Olympians participants raced, threw and organized office supplies for prizes.
