Nigel here. Well, to say it’s been an emotional week would be the understatement of the century. As you may have read in the papers or seen on the news, a blogger from this very site, who dubbed himself “The Hangman,” killed several people in the Boston area.

I didn’t realize that my blog could have such an effect. I was hoping that this site would allow me to answer questions and share my experiences with the world. I never intended for it to be used as a forum to publicly boast about such heinous acts. I am truly sorry.

Due to this tragic event, I believe it’s best if I take a little time off from blogging.

Until then, loyal readers, I wish you well.

I did hear about that in the news. Your name was mentioned several times, congrats on helping catch him. I imagine it must have been hard, feeling that you were the conduit for the attacks. My best wishes to you and the gang at the office, and we'll miss you. I hope you post again soon.

Poor Nige. It's not your fault and actually, like Garret said, you helped save many people and this blog did just what it was intended to do.

They may have gone on killing if this blog hadn't been here, so kudos to you.

Rest up and we'll be glad to here from you when you return to us.

I can't imagine having to go through what you did, and I think that you preformed admirably. We will miss you while you are on hiatus, but it is completely understandable. Love you guys!

I don't blame you for wanting to take a break, Nige. Try to take it easy while you're gone.

Just remember not to beat yourself up. You aren't responsible for this psychotic couple's actions in any way. They were doing this for a long while, it seems, and just used your blog as a forum to do what most serial killers do; create fear by publicizing their actions and by taunting authorities who try to stop them.

It's a shame that they decided to torment you like this, but at least you had the ressources, intelligence and help you needed to put a stop to this.

Hey, Nigel! I'm new here and I saw the episode tonight. You really shouldn't be kicking yourself over this. The Hangman was insane and sick. You had no control over his actions and, like Garrett and some have said already, your actions saved future victims of the Hangman.

You're totally awesome and the Hangman crossed the wrong person when he decided to taunt you: because of you, he and his sick wife are behind bars!!

Take a break if you want, but just remember that you are not responsible for the Hangman's actions or those people's deaths. The Hangman would have killed them even if he hadn't decided to taunt you. Your actions saved others.

I don't usually peruse the "Boston online news" but after I read your entry I couldn't help but see what had "gone on."

After a lot of thought considering the evils the internet could bring and the pure ego of a man who seemed to have everything in his court, I finally decided that though the internet is certainly (at times) a disgusting commentary on social and literacy deterioration, in this case it was the saving grace for a possible fifty or more people.

If your blog hadn't existed "The Hangman" (or both of them, rather) would not have appealed to their own egos and challenged, online, your intelligence. Thus they would have continued killing knowing that they had no challenge costing a good number of people's lives. If you hadn't "shared your experiences with the world" you would have never had the opportunity to catch them.

There are a lot of fake people out there, Nigel. There was no reason to think the Hangman any different. But when you did find out their truth, you acted on it. Not everyone would have done that. Not everyone would have taken that next step.

Take the time you need, Nigel. But don't go away for too long. We, here, need our fix of our favorite morgue crime detective person. It's not as if there's a show we can watch every Wednesday at 9pm eastern standard time on NBC to keep up with your antics.

since i, alone, cannot stop a hiatus, i will offer a suggestion. i was originally into this website when you first started it, with the unsolved case and all, and i was sad to see it over. i waited for so long to see you posting again, but i gave up after a while, then forgot to check every once and a while. I MISSED SO MUCH!... and i think this was the situation for some other people.

here's my suggestion. if possible, maybe you could add some type of alert system that sends an e-mail everytime to post again. that would be extremely awesome, and helpful. i have so much going on in school right now, i get scatter brained and forget so much and would really like to keep up with you...

He tends to watch mainly comedies, and I can never get an answer out of him (that makes sense) when I ask what happened in the episode he just watched or what I missed when I stepped out. Sounds like the HANGMAN is going down as a convenient network excuse to drop the blog. Please. And it made an otherwise interesting episode, well, boring. One suspect? Not very entertaining. Even when you take into account the fact that you smackered that new coroner. ugh!

I would like to say that the hangman used a typical ploy of trying to out smart the brilliant ones by red herrings and forgot to look forward to using the actual law against you. write again soon. people like him should never get you down... but very good eppie!

So... about last nights episode... they aren't canceling the show for real are they? I've heard rumors... but now major characters are being written out(Lily, Ivers), sick (Jordan)and the blog isn't being updated. Does anyone have any real information!!?? I don't know what I would do without my Nigel fix!

Doing his job??? His job was to make the AG look good, not take away all the technology so that his plan could backfire. His job WAS to look for corruption...he didn't find it, but he took it upon himself to develop checklists and budget cuts though he, as a lawyer, had no knowledge of what was actually necessary for the morgue. If you ask me, it's bad policy to let an attorney be in charge of anything like that...they don't have expertise in that area. Anyway, I'm still holding out hope for Lily and Bug, and I'm SO glad Ivers is gone! Now we just gotta convince Nige to come back from his break and update us on the goings-on at the morgue. Wonder how Kate is (since she wasn't in the last epi), lol. I'm sure Nigel knows.

No, they are NOT cancelling the show...at least, not this season. You can search my name in this post's comments to find the comment where I said exactly how many new epis were left this season (I don't feel like looking it up right now), but I think it's about 10. CJ's not doing horrible right now, and you could tell (by the midway update) that NBC was really trying to promote yesterday's epi. Jill Hennessy (unless she changed her mind) even thinks they'll have another season after this, and if the epis continue to be as interesting as they have been this season, I'm not sure I'd disagree. That won't be decided yet though, but rest assured that the rest of this season will continue as planned.

Who else can help us with the inside scoop with Jordan, with Lily, with Bug, or even Woody? Please oh please don't let them beat you up becuase a mad man chose to use you to get his 15 minutes of fame. That's really what those serial killers want, someone to praise them for what they consider their most wonderful works. They need to be acknowledged for what they think are their good works. But I don't blame her at all...babies are alert by the 5th or 6th month I believe, and all that stress and death and all the sounds of crying shouldn't be what the baby is exposed to. She can always come back later, and whoever mentioned maternity leave is right...that would have come soon anyway.
As to the sighting of Lily's "double," she's in The Last Mimzy...I see the trailer for it all the time while watching ABC Family. And as to the future of the series, I still have hope they'll be another season past this one, but even if this does end up finishing off the series, it will be a complete season, and once they decide whether or not to renew the series, they'll probably start promoting the show with that in mind (so that if it is, heaven forbid, the last season, NBC will use that to hype up the ratings...hey, doing that kept 7th Heaven around for a whole next season on the CW, lol). And as for the petition, it could buy some time till the blog comes back full swing (I'm guessing it will be back by May sweeps at the latest), and I'm sure everyone working on/with CJ would love to know how many adoring fans they have (and how popular Nigel's blog is).

So, Kate proves herself to be a softy at heart, but this is not unexpected, and I'm surprised the others didn't clue in, as my mom, (retired nurse), did, right off: "she's just distancing herself from her patients so she can do her work," not an uncommon necessity for those in life or death professions --or professions dealing with death. Doctors do it all the time, cops, too. So why are the others giving her such a hard time about it?

It was also bad procedure for Jordan to wear the same pair of gloves during that outbreak (especially when she shakes hands with possibly unexposed persons with contaminated gloves), and to keep putting her mask on and off, and to take off her mask and put it on the little girl. Since Jordan was present when the mystery fluid spouted, she was exposed, or possibly exposed to the contagion, and so wearing a mask would have prevented others from being exposed to the contagion through her. But the little girl was also already exposed via her dad, so if Jordan *hadn't* been exposed, her taking off her mask to give to the little girl was wrong, because the little girl was already exposed, and Jordan would have been exposing herself needlessly, in that case; but as Jordan *was* exposed, even if the little girl *was* also exposed via her dad, breathing in Jordan's germs via the mask would have re-exposed the little girl in an even more dangerous environment --that of the closed off mask. So no props for accuracy of technique, that ep.

Then, *this* ep, Kate exposes more of the mummy than she should have, considering the newest exhamination techniques, which, as she said, try not to break the linen seal. Most of the mummies linens are pretty fragile and tatty, by that time, so they try to not remove the protective lid of the sarcophogus, period, preferring to use today's higher detailed imaging machines, like MRIs to scope out what's what before deciding if going further is necessary. The MRI would have detected the filling, but would not have detected its composiiton, of course, but I don't know that the museum would have given the go ahead to extract the filling, even though it was anomalous (more than one mummy of the period died because of tooth abcesses) because of the frgility of the specimen, (exposure to air speeds decomp/deterioration, even in mummies).

I like most of your comments. They're very educated. I've watched a mummy documentary or two and have seen many mummies exhibited outside their sarcophogi (in documentaries--let me reiterate) displayed and ran through MRIs to prove royalty and surmise the cause of death. It did give me some pause when the mummy in question wasn't dealt with in the same gentlness as the ones in the documentary, though. Granted, a documentary is just one example of how one group of people handle one incident, but it seemed to be a much more delicate, time consuming process than this show...er...showed.(Though I do remember in the documentary when they were trying to prove lineage they did cut away a bit in order to compare physical likeness? Teeth? Something, I'm not as intellectual as that.)

A good observation about Jordan's mask swapping, too. Right on the money, there.

About Kate. I think the reason the others haven't accepted her distancing herself is because not only is she distancing herself from the corpses and their stories but also from everyone else. It's one thing to say "I don't care about this dead person as it's easier to deal" but it's a completely different thing when you berate your coworkers on a daily basis for no obvious reason. If I were in that situation I'd have to question why she were even working in a morgue in the first place considering her attitude. To put it bluntly (though she might have a valid reason for it) she's an outright bitch to everyone, so a detail like coping by not caring about the backstories of her Janes and Johns gets lost in her overall insensitivity to everyone and nearly every situation, so it was a character building moment to see her take in what was said to her and open herself to caring about a person--perhaps whose situation related to her past in someway if not a general show of compassion where as before we've not seen any.

And on the subject of a petition. I mainly wanted to do it to one, get in with the roleplay of me just being another rabid fan of Nigel the amazing crimesolving ME; two, because it'd be fun to see how many names we could get regardless of the impact (there is actually a Crossing Jordan official petition at NBC right now); and three, to show my appreciation of the show regardless its hiccups in logic and technicality.

DW, you're why fans exist so they can critique the show in a constructive way but still watch the show despite its faults (or perhaps because of them--I dunno--you could be collecting technical mishaps like one would collect stamps, for all I know).

What is with the outrage? This is a very civil and for the most part upbeat blog. We are a group of people that enjoy reading and discussing one of our favorite ME's hijinx. While I'm sure your viewership is greatly appreciated if you have a problem with blogs...it's simple, don't read them. Problem solved.

And now back to CJ...I am SO mad that I missed last week's epi, but the video up on NBC of Jordan in the elevator and after is really sad. I have to say though, those episode recaps on NBC are excellent. Tell Bug that he should try to emulate the Dog Whisperer when dealing with junvenile delinquents, (always exhibit a calm assertive attitude so that they will understand you are the pack leader). Gird your loins! Of course, Macy has had a LOT more experience dealing with juvenile delinquents, because of Abby, and he is the alpha dog of the morgue, but ya gotta step up, some day. Sooner is better.

Looks like Jordan is going to have that operation whether or not she consents. (If she's unconscious when she goes in, does Max have to give consent, [cameo?!] or does Macy get that pleasure?) it would have to be a family member to give consent. And technically Jordan's doctor is violating federal law discussing the situation with Macy. Unless Jordan has already listed him as a contact. And I can't imagine Jordan doing that.
I also can't imagine a doctor undertaking the surgery on a patient that was not properly put under by an anesthesiologist. The dangers are too great. She might open the skull to relieve pressure, but not the removal itself.

Macy could be her Health POA. Remember she put her Will together after Macy bought her a book for dummies on how to make a Will. Plus, she was updating Garret on what information was sent to the Neurologist. Sounds like he has her consent to look into things, but not much else.

Yeah, Jordan did have her doctor email the results to Macy...he wouldn't have done that unless she had specifically given him permission to share medical information with Macy. Heck, Macy is a doctor (of sorts), so maybe she just listed him as another of her doctors (not likely, but still). She doesn't want to listen to him, but she still keeps him updated cuz she knows he wants to know (and she was trying to prove she's okay...which she isn't).

And as for the E! survey, the link recently given doesn't work for me, but I think the one I left in my last post works. Anyway, according to the updated numbers CJ isn't even in the top 5 or 6...we've really got to get voting! since Jordan actually asked Macy for a consult (to evaluate the tumor), he is technically her doctor, so he could legally get e-mails from the other doctor, (especially as, if I recall correctly, the other doctor was put on her case through Macy's recommendation/referral, which would technicslly make Macy the primary care physician.) And if she has listed Macy as her emergency contact, Macy could also give consent for an operation, (I know, as I was tapped to be the 'pull the plug call,' person for a friend of mine who was in a car accident until they found an actual relative, at which point they stopped answering my questions about his condition. (Of course, I was also off the hook for being the one to make the DNR call should that have been necessary (it wasn't). Happy happy joy joy.) So technically, if they want to stiff us a Max cameo, they could get away with it. (I want to see Max, though.)

Unhappily, *I* myself went through an operation where I was given a spinal that did not take, (Ala the 60 Minutes report), there are thousands of us poor sods being operated on every year. I appeared to be 'out' but I heard every word, and felt every scalpel cut, and yet was unable to communicate this awareness to my doctors. Not something I want to go through again. I don't see how that relates to Jordan's case, though. Unless you're referring to the supposedly dead lawyer?

Yeah, despite knowing that The Hangman could now be anybody and that the rest of us don't care, someone here still finds the need to use it as their "name"...oh well...water under the bridge if you ask me. I'm more concerned with this whole Jordan situation (and the epi in two days...I can't wait!).

Though, by the way, it doesn't so much matter (at least, in my state...states do differ you know) whether or not you are the emergency contact. What matters is whether or not you have legal power of attorney. Some new (and annoying) laws put in place have now made it so that the doctors don't even have to let a person's spouse in on what's going on (much less allow them to make any decisions) if the spouse has not been legally given power of attorney for their spouse (by their spouse). It can get pretty complicated and annoying, that's for sure. Of course, Macy being a doctor can bypass all of that...as long as he is somehow seen as a doctor of Jordan's (and especially since, as I have already stated, Jordan explicitaly gave her doctor permission to email Macy her MRI scan...she asked it to be emailed, so she MUST have given consent to release her medical records to Macy, or else it never would have been sent), Macy can review her medical records legally without a problem. That doesn't necessarily mean he'll be able to make any decisions on her behalf though, although, him being a trusted friend, she could have given him legal power of attorney years ago. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

One more thing guys...keep in mind that you can vote on this SaveOneShow thing once every day (supposedly more if you have internet explorer and repeatedly open and close the windows, but I don't have firsthand knowledge about that). So keep that in mind when you're surfing the internet and vote each day for Crossing Jordan, in hopes that NBC sees how many fans want to show to continue and does not decide to drop it.

Sorry Kelsey, but I think you're mistaken. I went back and re-watched both Seven Feet Under and Fall From Grace. I couldn't find any evidence that Jordan gave her doctor permission to send Garret any info. The MRI scan he saw was the one Jordan showed him, after she dropped the pills and couldn't pick them up.It's then she reveals to him the problem and tells him the doctor's name. It's then that Garrett starts commincating with Jordan's doctor.

In fact, the scene may start out with Jordan saying something about how it was good he recieved it or informing him that she had it sent to him. Don't know what episode that was in, but I know I didn't imagine it...I'll go back and look when I get a chance, but either way, anything could happen on the show. They don't seem overlly concerned about following the law exactly. So yeah, Macy could be faced with a decision next episode, and I'm sure at least one of them will be able to get information about her condition, even if that would be very unlikely to happen in real life.

sorry for my language to those who care... i'm just sick of these people who say that WE need to get lives. i think it's horrible that people judge me..or anyone else...because of what i (or we) do in my (our) spare time. i mean, i go to high school, am an author, and work almost all the time. when i get a little time off, and when i'm not being hassled by my editor or talked "at" by teachers or superficial Barbie wannabes, i'd like a little down time to at least take a deep breath and chat with some people who are more intellectually stimulating than potato brained people like "your mom" over here...

And as for Steve knowing whether or not the series is coming to an end, unfortunately, he wouldn't necessarily know before us. NBC hasn't made a call yet. The actors (especially Jill, judging from her interviews) have hope, but nothing is certain yet (except that THIS season will definately play out as planned). When NBC announces it, the actors will get the word around the same time the press will. Luckily, we still have time to show NBC how much we love CJ before they make any decisions. So get out there and vote...TODAY!!!

Hey, Nigel. I'm sorry to hear about the Hangman murderer. That really sux. How do you get the cameras into the coroner's office anyway? Do you like have to sanitize all the camera equipment, microphones, and stuff? Do all the cameramen and tech people have to wear scrubs too when they are filming? Have you ever had a case where the evidence was tainted because of all the film people and equipment? I can imagine that that can be extremely difficult. Well, however you and the other coroner workers are handling it, keep up the great work! Can't wait til next week's episode.

As to the question about the voting, there were two (actually three) different polls mentioned on this blog. One was supposedly an NBC one, but I never found it. One (well, it's not really one, but anyway), was just proposed as a way to keep us busy and show how much we all love CJ. The third, the one I and others have been talking about recently, is the Eonline poll. Really, it has no connections with CJ or NBC, but read what it says. This is a yearly poll they do called SaveOneShow, where you can vote for one of the shows they don't believe will be renewed this year. Then the results are publicized, and according to them, they HAVE saved a few shows. The first place show's network found out how many people wanted to save it, so they renewed it. Some shows that didn't even come in 1st have been saved too, just because the network was able to see by the voting numbers how many loyal fans the show still had. I know it is not likely that CJ will take first place, especially considering it wasn't even in the top 5 at the halfway point, but it's possible that once NBC sees how many fans cared enough to vote for CJ, especially over some other more popular shows, they'll give CJ the benefit of the doubt and renew em for at least another year. Hey, it could happen! You just gotta have "Faith" (lol), like our boy Nigel here! I mean, if he can believe in Santa, we can surely believe in CJ and NBC!!!

E.M. Green- I think you might get more responses at a site like tv.com for a petition to save CJ. Not they we don't wanna save CJ, but we'd like to think that our posts sufficiently show our interest in the show. At least, that seems to be the thought process here. That and other forums and checked more often and have more visitors.

No word yet on the E! survey/poll/whatever. I think they're supposed to post the results on the 13th (of April), so it should be soon. Too bad it didn't run a little longer...this next CJ episode is sure to be excellent, and it might have caused some other people to see CJ's potential and vote for it. Of course, as has already been stated, ultimately it's NBC's call anyway. Let's just hope they make the right one and bring CJ back (especially since from what I've heard of their upcoming pilots, they suck!!!...actually, I guess that could work in our favor).

I hope they don't kill Jordan off like they've done with the other characters in the past.

I don't think they can kill her off...I mean, the show's called Crossing Jordan. If she died, they'd have to call it Crossing Macy or something else similarly less catchy.

Wow, you are so quick Kelsay! Thanx, i didn't think of that. Even with your logic, the show still was a little scary. So glad to hear that Jordan lives anyways, I was a little afraid for a few moments there!

Nigel, you went through a lot this episode. I swear you had me at the verge of tears the whole time. And then when you came back the the morgue and all of the fish but one was dead...I felt SO bad for you. I know you were just trying to do something to help so that you didn't feel so helpless. You kind of blew up at Woody, but he didn't come to the hospital because he was trying to stay busy so that he wouldn't worry so much about Jordan. He just coped with the situation differently, that's all, but he definatly cares. But anyway, you all went through a lot (and I noticed Kate was there to help you out along the way...maybe it's not the time for match making though), but thankfully Jordan survived. You guys are going to have to keep a close eye on her...some pretty strange things can happen to a person after brain surgery, and they can begin behaving errotically. Have faith Nigel, and Jordan's sure to be back on her feet in no time. And I'm sure when she's back to normal she'll tell you how much she appreciated the fish you brought her...it was the first thing she saw when she woke up :) !!!

She said it was "for CJ fans to keep in touch with Nigel and each other" and she wrote to Nigel, so I'd say she knows what it is. And BTW, Ken, if you want to be technical, neither is Nigel. But Nigel is on CJ, the show named for Jordan, so I don't see anything wrong with expecting people on this blog to like CJ (and by association like Jordan...at least, that would be the assumption). Anyway, I also want to know whether or not Lily has been told of Jordan's condition. I was really hoping somehow she'd come up in this week's episode...I mean, she and Jordan are good friends. I discovered CJ when it was in the midst of season 3 when I was surfing one Sunday evening and caught it on A&E. What caught my attention was not Jordan, but a tall, dark, handsome Brit.And that's why I continue to watch.

Dearest Nigel, please don't stop blogging. I love reading your posts. We miss you here terribly. Give Jordan our best. BTW...has anybody told Max about Jordan?

yes i am a professional writer.

if you haven't seen my earlier posts, i am only sixteen. and, being said age, i have recently developed quite a fascination with something called fan fiction. I write a lot of Pirates of the Caribbean (more of my novice stuff), some Numb3rs, House, M.D. and other things that catch my interest at some time and point. really, i just write about whatever pops into my head, seeing as how i often daydream. mostly i'm just kind of out there because i do write about a variety of different things. i have an account under the name xRubyDustx (which i use as my penname) at fanfiction.net. that's where i get most of my writing done because i don't have to sit down at any one given time and force things out. I usually resort to that when i get writer's block on my original pieces.

plus, like i've mentioned before, my brother has Downs Syndrome. He loves when i come up with things for him, so i sometimes write about some of his favorite shows.

and i've been wanting to get some "Crossing Jordan" things posted there, but i just haven't gotten around to it, really.

but mostly i'm a fiction writer. i will say that i share Nigel's enthusiasm about vampires and magic and all that jazz, so i stick to what i know. mostly because i hate doing research and things like that. it's just too time consuming and i'm just trying to focus more on my own thing right now. although i do love what i do, don't get me wrong.

but i am working on a book to get published at the present moment.

and thank you for your input on the whole "crossing lines" fiasco. it really helped!

Fan fiction? Sounds nice. I believe it is writing about what could have happen in particular tv series or what will happen next? Honestly, I have never tried it. But, I am glad it helps your little brother, that is really nice of you! I would make a bad writer, though some of my friends I should start writing short stories like Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt. If you never tried this author, you should. It very very good. Bit of humour, crime and a great observation of what is on people minds! His books helped me understand the world better. It makes you feel naked, only with your feelings on. I was thinking about posting my stories at online journal.

By the way, I'm 22, student at Technical College (3rd year). I study Building/Tectonics. However, in high school I was in literature/humanistic class.

I saw it could be done. I can't believe it, it's so amazing. As i told it in march i'm a french fan of 'Crossing Jordan' even if i missed the beginning (the french first canal didn't have announced it) and i saw the NBC Drama the first time a wednesday evening. I was stuck on it.
The problem, in France, they don't go from the S01E01 to S06E17 order by S then by E, they show us the drama alternatively.
So by season, those that i saw (their numeros) :
- Season 1 : 02-08-09-15-17-18-21-22-23 ;
- Season 2 : 01-07-09-10-12-15-16-20 ;
- Season 3 : 01-02-03-04-08-09-10-13 ;
- Season 4 : 01-02-03-04-05-06-07-08-11-12-13-14-15-16-17-18-19-20-21 ;
- Season 5 : 01-02-05-06-07-08-09-10 ;
- Season 6 : not yet ;

And something strange is that they show us two episodes a week, then three, and now it's one by one, each sunday afternoon.
I like the story and i hope it will go ahead again and again.

i am quite aware of what the word PROFESSIONAL means. i may be young but i'm not stupid. i HAVE published... many things. i've had pieces in newspapers and in other collective work books. so sorry if you think that's not good enough, but publishers recognize me as professional because of it.

and if you would have read more carefully, i said that i only recently have gotten into fanfiction and have been writing that mostly LATELY because it doesn't involve so much effort in the research department and i resort to it to jump start my creativity when i get writer's block.

Okay, "Post Hoc" was like the best episode ever! I loved it...I especially liked how Kate was like one of the family right off the bat (Jordan saw her), not to mention how Garret said he trusts her! I really hope it's not, as someone suggested, a warning of her iminent death! Oh, by the way, let's not forget to add our most recent fatality, Lu, to your list...she and Jordan just got on pretty good terms like 2 episodes before her demise. I can definatly see the pattern, but I hope tptb (the powers that be) will decide to end this horrible death streak and allow Kate to live...she's becoming one of my favorite characters!

As for what Bug went through, I'm speechless. It was terrible!!! And then there was Woody's super-uncomfortable stay with Jordan...you would've thought they'd at least be able to communicate better by now. But Kate's scene with Jordan was awesome, and that made the episode near perfect in my mind!

Anyway, on to other news, I don't know if you've heard, but there's a USA Today poll out now where you can vote "keep," "drop," or "don't care," for a list of shows in danger...including CJ! You can even add a comment at the end supporting your favorite shows! Here's the site:

Well, I have been out gadding about, but I'm back! Just in time for the return of Ivers.

Huzzah for Jeffery Donovan! And what chemistry Ivers has with Jordan, too! Isn't he cute in a totally obsessive/compulsive kind of way? And he looks so cute with Jordan, too. They can be obsessive/compulsive together, especially now that he appreciates the power of forensics.

How's it goin? My name's Bri. I just wanted to tell you that I think you should be careful. If you really don't like Kate, especially after everything that's happened since your last post, I think you ought to be a little cautious. If not, well then, like Bug said, it only ends badly. Either you two are probably gonna fall for each other (which is what I'm personally rooting for) or someone is gonna get hurt. That doesn't have to mean physically of course, especially with Kate's personality. I could easily see how each of you would react, should you be hurt by the other, and Kate looks pretty bad. You, I could see you hurt for a while, but you've got that whole I-love-life-nothing-keeps-me-down-forever aspect going on. Kate, not so much. Instead of letting things get to her and breaking her down, she simply makes herself stronger, and somtimes, meaner. 'To shut out the wiorld to not be hurt.' And to be quite honest, I think you should give her a chance. I think you two would be nice together, and there's definitely something there. Besides, you have to admit, she is quite pretty. There have been instances in the past where television viewers have had successful mailing campaigns. Let's start our constructive campaign today. Off the top of my head, I would think we need to the following beginning TODAY:

1. Call NBC (NYC and LA offices) to register complaints regarding the printed "rumors" that Crossing Jordan will not be renewed.

Ok last post, Im sorry I just have so many thoughts about the series finale.What was good was the acting by the whole cast (nice kiss jordan and woody).What I didnt like was NBC seemed like they tried to rush the episode to get everything in.They should of done at least two more episodes or one two hour episode to finish everything up like the thing between nigel and kate.I seriously thought that they were going to kiss, Im sure they would have if there was another episode.You are still my fav. Steve so keep up the acting you are very good at it.Once, no when you do movies Ill be sure to check them out or any other tv shows that you do.You did very good in the last episode.Dont stop blogging, just because the show ended doesnt mean you have to stop.Lots of hugs and kisses as always. I can't believe no one else has posted yet.
Sigh. Well, it must be true: they must have been canceled, becaue Tim Kring once said he'd never have Woody and Jordan get together unless it was the last episode of the show, (he had problems with over-coming that post 'sexual tension' slump).
But if they have to go, at least they went out nicely, no cliff-hanger to drive us nuts forevermore.
Jordan looks like she's going to over-come her commitment problems; Nigel helped save the day with his electronics wizardry, and even comforted Kate; Bug has Lily and Madeline to go home to; and Macy confessed to Jordan how much he needed her to be in his life, (professionally speaking). (We do have to remember that he was a miserable man when first we met him, because he hadn't wanted to be a pathologist, he wanted to be a Jazz musician, and only went to med school because of his parents. That's why Lily was attracted to him, at first, they had a love of Jazz.) Frankly, I think Jordan saw him more like a father figure, since she had so much baggage with her real dad, and Max vice versa, while Macy was a strong, steadying influence, who respected her, which is something Max could never do because of all of Jordan's mental problems. (And, no doubt, because she was his little girl.) Max was always treading on eggshells around Jordan, and Macy pulled no punches. (I think Jordan respected that.)

What annoyed me is: 1) there was no reason for the pilot to die. It was more important for them to stay alive, ie inside and warm, than stay outside all alone tending a fire no one was likely to see anyway.
2)And no one was wearing a hat! You lose 50% of your body heat through your head! If you're trying to stay alive in freezing temperatures, you need to wear a hat! A doctor should know that! (Plus, concusions are worse in freezing temperatures, they can kill you, and there's not much anyone can do to prevent it.
3)And why didn't they shut the plastic shades on the windows? They could have used the extra insulation.
Oh, well.
Ah, for a roll of duct tape! They could have used the body bags to seal up their section of fuselage if they'd only had some duct tape to stick them to the walls. Imagine zipping and unzipping your way through a body bag to reach the outside. That would have been neat. (I wonder how much good they'd be as sleeping bags!)

okay...before we get all worked up (which might be a little too late), are we SURE that CJ isn't coming back? i mean really sure?? i read that someone posted that it said "series finale", but i never heard that. i heard "season finale" but not series. but... then again... i do have some bad hearing.

and i know Tim said he'd never have Woody and Jordan get together, but are they REALLY together. Jordan said "i love you" , Woody never said anything back. just kissed her. that could almost mean anything, i guess.

Finally, we might have lost "new" Nigels but there is always A&E. Admittedly the times it's on right now are crappy, but they do change them from time to time. And with over 100 episodes that would last a loooooooooong time.They are in the midst of season 4 right now.

Pat - true about A&E... I've been watching them... but why is Crossing Jordan like the only show that hasn't been released on DVD... Or at least Amazon.com says NONE of the seasons are available... Anyone ever found them on DVD?

I've looked all over, Sarah. There hasn't been one season released on DVD as of yet. And on NBC, they seem proud that they've just released the fourth season of "Columbo". I mean, come on.... that was on 30 years ago! I'm not waiting 30 years for CJ to be released. It's insane!

Actually Cheyenne, what you were seeing is a request for a DVD not the actual DVD itself.

The one that is there, at amazon, would have been from season 2 or 3 when Peter was at the morgue. I have all the write-ups from seasons 1 - 5 and some from season 6 and could probably figure out which one they wanted if you're really interested.(The write-ups at NBC weren't very good or complete after "Isolation so I had to relay on my local paper.)

There is actually one time that a DVD was produced. It was during season 4. "Fire From the Sky" was used as a "For Your Emmy Consideration" promo. I was lucky enough to find it at an ebay auction. Actually I have two copies. I haven't looked for it recently but if your really interested you might want to put a search in for it. And if it shows up they will notify you if you register it. That's how I found it.

On the coffeerooms Crossing Jordan board, we had a great suggestion. One poster suggested that we contact Ellen Degeneres. On the Ellen show, she's been known to call executives up to ask about a show while she's on the air...maybe if she gets enough emails, she'll do it for us.

There's a standard form with contact information and a "comment" area. We could hit on several points: the facts of NBC's treatment of the show. The 6 million plus fanbase (equivalent or greater than the fan base of some of NBC's retained shows, even without promotion). And touch on the fact that this is one show that had an incredibly strong female character, and now it's gone.

Then tell her what you want...I want NBC to bring the show back for a season in order to finally develop the relationship between Jordan and Woody. But I'd even settle for a limited episode run or a good (really good) 2-hour movie.

NBC still hasn't released "Third Watch" on DVD and that show aired from 1999-2005. I really hope that "Crossing Jordan" will have a season 7, I just love the show, but I don't know. I saw a picture in TV Guide(May 28-June 3) of Jerry O'Connell(Woody) accompanying Rebecca Romijn to the ABC party, and the article stated that Jerry will be starring a new comedy "Carpoolers" on ABC. :'(

I'm sad to see you go, Nigel. And very sad to know that there will never be another season of CJ. I'll miss you, but thanks for all the good times since the show started.

Something Kay said got me to thinking. Maybe we should ask NBC to let A$E release CJ on DVD. A&E is offering CSI:Miami at it's shop.
A&E seems to have the rebroadcast rights. They have had CJ on for a few years now.
A&E does produce they're own DVDs. I have a set from another program.
Then we'd just have to get A&E to agree.

I can't believe CJ has been cancelled. Do the execs at NBC have rocks in their heads? Why is that quality programs such as CJ get axed, yet rubbish like Big Brother are still on air? Hi Nigel! I just read several days ago that the 6th season of Crossing Jordan would be the last season as well. I doubt in you being able to change this in any way and Im sorry for this because I just loved Dr Nigel Townsend^^ and I will truely miss him. Anyway- how will it go on with you? Hey everybody! (Hope folks see this.)NBC won't bhe repeating Season 7
I just got back from A&E. Starting on the 2nd of July they are showing Season 7, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 9 & 10 am and again from 3 & 4 pm. There are two episodes each day with the afternoon ones repeated from the morning.There are also two episodes on the 9th. I'm assuming that they will continue for the rest of the week of the 9th but they haven't posted it yet.

Sorry about that folks, right episodes but wrong season number.

Hey bloggers Good News! The last episode airs on A&E on Monday the 16th at 9am and again at 3pm. AND THEN they are starting all over again with the pilot at 10 am and 4 pm. As far as I could tell they are going to continue to air back to back episodes and they are going in order.
So if you missed any and get A&E watch and/or tape. True, tapes wouldn't be as good as having dvds but it's better than nothing.

Hey Anoymous. I have a friend who works for an independent network like A&E. He said when a network gets a show that is still on the air, like when A&E got CJ, they almost always have have exclusive rebroadcast rights.

We were trying to do that this past spring when the possibility of cancelation first came up. Don't think we'll even have access to the blog for to much longer. And as we have said "Woody" wouldn't be back. He has moved on to "new employement" outside the Boston PD.

Pat's right and i think that i heard somewhere that Miguel Ferrer, "Macy" has moved on too with another Nbc show..so he's gone from the ME's office.

I would imagine that dramas are a lot more expensive ro produce then all that "reality" garbage.

Enjoyed the programmes whilst I was visiting the USA on my hols and was looking forward to finding a way to view once back in the UK. Was shocked to find the series has been shelved. Would love to find a way of viewing it in the UK.....are there any plans to sell it to the BBC.ITV.Channel 4/5 or Sky. Would really like to see everything from start to finish.

It was great watching the episodes and nice to hear a Brit acent in the midst of the friendly banter. I loved being in the USA, took some time getting used to sounding different and fun meeting such friendly people. Great story lines and acting better than some of the series we have over on this side of the pond. Look forward to seeing you in something else, I know it will be fun watching.

Hope they rethink the whole shelving thing :-)

Watched Forget Me Not twice today. Can't decide if I love it or hate it. All that Nigel is wonderful. But what 'she' did to Nigel. I just want to put my arms around him and hold him.

It's hard to believe that Nigel's 'god' died 30 years ago today. The one his mum loved even better than Nigel.I well remember it.

OMG! I know we've tried before but we NEED to try again to get the show back. I know many of the characters have moved on .. but maybe if we petition we could get them back for one more season to show NBC that Crossing Jordan is still a hit. WHO'S WITH ME ?!?!?

I think the optimum word is "VIRTUAL." From what I can gleen from the site, a group of CJ fans will be writing storeies from where Crash left off. All the characters will be included. The actors who played the characters will not. And since I became a watcher of CJ because of the face at the top of this page and the voice of the character to whom the blog was started, I'm not really interested.

Thought I ought to say one more time, I'm will to keep comminicating with any of Nigel's bloggers.

They actually edited my comment a bit b/c I said something about the EXTREME similarities between "Bones" and "Crossing Jordan". I mean, seriously - they're nearly the same show, but Jordan was ALWAYS better.

Hey everybody!
At least, our first channel shows Crossing Jordan, last season. In France, as i told since march, that channel showed each EP without order then stopped.
Since two weeks, we can see it from 10.30pm to 12.00am.
They began with 'Don't leave me this way' (when Jordan is innocent about J.D Pollack's death), so the last episode from Season 5 and last monday, they showed 'Mr Little and Mr Big'.
I was disgusted by LTN Tallulah 'Lu' Simmons' death. The trio between her, Woody and Jordan was amazing.
I saw that in 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love', Nigel felt in love with Danny's girlfriend. It's funny when he compared his loving life with Jordan's one, because he said that with Woody, Jordan could be in a perfect love but in the same time, she is afraid and they use to implode.
I hope that "the Hangman" was underarrested, because it is not Nigel's fault if people like that man acts like that.
Anyway, even if the Police think it's good to take some times off, it's clearly because soap like that can make murderers understand how they can act in order to prevent themselves from CSI.
When the last episode will be diffused, i will come back on that blog to tell you how i found the season.

I still can't get over this show being cancelled. It was truly a bad choice on NBC's part.
These characters were some of the best on TV, ever. Right up there with Mash and Happy Days. Like we the fans worked in the morgue and lived it all with them.

Shame, shame, shame on you NBC. I think that there would be allot of very happy people if NBC were to bring Crossing Jordan back. At this point, they'd pick up many of "the others" who didn't watch the show in the first place. It was big and growing, why would they end it? It was just getting juicy.

NBC, how could you end the show with no closure or a more deserving series finale. It was a terrible thing to do to the actors and you surely did crap on the fans by doing this. We want it back.

WE WANT IT BACK!!!!!!
