Today is bittersweet.

I'm thrilled because we are zeroing in on the killer in the Beacon Hill murders.  However, it is with a heavy heart and hand, I write my last blog posting.  So, before I mist up, here's the most current info on the case.

At long last, the stubborn Dr. Derek Douglas submitted a DNA sample (under the advice of counsel) to be compared to the hair strand found on Dr. Amy Tropos' coat.  He stated to a Boston Police detective that it was "a no brainer for my wife to have my hair on her."  Despite the high statistical percentage of spouses that knock off their mates, DNA tests found no match between the sample taken from Dr. Derek Douglas and the mysterious hair strand.

However, hope springs eternal at the morgue.  The morgue's fearless leader, the usually tight fisted Dr. Macy, was kind enough to authorize additional tests on the vehicle which was submerged in its murky tomb by the killer in 2002.  The final test from the automotive autopsy - an analysis of the driver's seat position - yielded a height range of the person who drove the car. Of all the people who have been interviewed regarding the Beacon Hill murders, the individuals who fall into that height range are:  Luis Fuente, Professor Putnam Cowley, Danny Gould, and Dr. Derek Douglas.

I have pored over all the Beacon Hill murders' investigative and forensic information from 2002 and from the recent developments in the re-opened case of 2005.  I've eliminated and revisited suspects and I think we're close to catching the killer.

Thanks to all of you for your hard work and relentless determination.  If the BDP arrests anyone, I'll post the info immediately.  So, don't forget to check back here for the final answer to the mystery of the Beacon Hill murders.  I bid you farewell for now.
