Good night
Thanks everybody for joining me on my first live blog! I am a huge fan of the show and my experience will be watching it every Tuesday to see how it looks and to see how I did. So, when you are watching, I am watching! Stay tuned for an incredible season full of fun guest stars and great storylines!

Novak and Lake? Hmmmm.
I am hoping they will give Detective Lake some interest when it comes to a relationship with a woman. The sparks, I don't know where they are going with the sparks, but it is very easy to work with Diane, when they want those sparks to fly!

Manny- Is Mariska really tough?
Well, I like to call her 'America's Sweetheart'. When you see her in the media, she has this big smile and is taking care of her family. But, as an actor, watch out, she knows how to bring out the intensity and she will take you down!

What drew you to Lake?
My intention was to never commit to a television show, because of the committment to doing 23 episodes in a season. As opposed to doing a one to three month gig in a film. It was my chemistry with Ice T that made me feel that this show was going to be a great experience. Chemistry is something you can't buy, it just is. For some reason, Ice T and I click. I said, "I definitely can do this."

IPod Music
I love Guns N Roses and Metallica. I have never used music for prepping for a role, maybe I can look into that.

My input
The writers really do want me to contribute my own opinions about Chester Lake. I gave them a brief history of who I am and I leave it up to them, as the writers, because that's what makes the show so successful. The writing for the show is phenomenal.

My Start
Basically, I started acting in high school. My friends and I joined so we could be in a class together. Mostly, it was like recess, we would play around and fight each other. The second year, I really liked the process of becoming somebody other than I.
My first acting job, I was an extra in a movie called 'Lost in the Barrens', it was one of my greatest moments in cinema. I would press 'pause' and say, "I can't believe I made it on television". I don't even know how many years ago that was. I was 18, I think.

Favorite Role
The last two characters I did, was one, 'Buried my Heart at Wounded Knee' and 'Flags of our Fathers', those films I had to bleed. I found certain qualities in myself and a healing process, too. It's one of the reasons why I love being an actor.

Plans to work behind the camera
One of these years, I would love to direct. For now, I really don't have the time. As a director, it's an unbelievable time consuming process and I really don't have the time right now.

My background
My character will be exploring his Native American background. It's something I have always carried with me. Native American Indians have always been a part of the foundation of America and that is one of the things I will always explore and share with what I do. I am glad that SVU created a character that will allow him to trace his background to his family who were iron workers.

Dealing with heavy themes
You can't help but fall into the issues the stories deal with. For me, when I walk away from set, I have learned how to shut it off. In a way, it's not that hard, but when you are in character, going through the emotions, it gets a little too emotional.

For Camille- Discrimination in the industry?
I have never felt I was a minority when it came to acting. I am in control of my destination, I am in control in how I am bettering myself with becoming an actor. My focus was never how hard it was to get to my destination, but instead, how good I can be at becoming an actor. Yes, discrimination is out there, it's hard to cope with the fact that ignorance exists. But, I never let it take away from what I took into finding my potentia as an actor to begin with.

Favorite co-star
I would love to work with Aidan Quinn, again. We worked with 'Buried My Heart at Wounded Knee'. He made me fall in love with acting all over again. There comes a time after 15 years, where it gets too comfortable. That's one of the reasons why I love SVU, they work so fast and hard, I have no time to get comfortable.
As for the Emmys, I wasn't there, because I feel I should be nominated, first.

For Lucy: Acting advice
Maintain interest in all films. Meaning watching films, trying to connect with an actor you can mimic, and learn to teach yourself through observing that excitement through following yoru favorite actor. Look into schools. Once you establish that is what you really want to do, then you can start seeking an agent. But, you have to have that degree from a qualifying school, it's as good as having a gig on your resume. And never give up hope!
September 25, 10:53 PM
Favorite part of the acting process
I love the two minutes before the director yells, "ACTION!" Because you have to let go of everything you planned and let your instincts take over.
September 25, 10:52 PM
A rapping duet?
There is talks of me and Ice T collaborating together in something within music. But, it doesn't involve me. It involves a search for a certain star. And that, my friends, we are keeping under the ropes, until we decide if that's what we are going to do. We are definitely collaborating on a feature film we want to do together.
September 25, 10:49 PM
Television or Film?
I prefer feature films because there is a work ethic required when creating a character you have as an actor. For television, speaking of SVU, the writers are creating the role for you. I would like to add to that, SVU is basically like a big feature film. They shoot episodes in ten days, as opposed to a month to three months. You HAVE to be on top of your game everyday!

Preparing for the role
The research I did, was just walking miles and miles around New York. Just to feel like I am part of such a huge city. Other then that, I let the writers create the role of Chester Lake. I let them keep up to their character developement.
As for working out, I have to keep up my sessions more then ever. I have never been on a show that requires so much attention to detail. Working with Chris Meloni, who's in amazing shape, I have to maintain some kind of measurement to his standards.
September 25, 10:44 PM
What's it like being on the show?
I was intimidated, because being a rookie, you have to be up to speed with the process. I have never been in a situation where there was so much intensity with the two lead actors. I always had to do re-takes because Chris and Mariska are such intense actors.
