Cast Changes
A few new additions. Julianne Nicholson plays Detective Megan Wheeler,
Logan's new partner. By this time in his career, Logan has gone
through several partners and his first reaction to her is ... subdued.
He'll try to make it work, but he's not going to over-extend himself.
As they work their first few cases, he begrudgingly realizes their
styles and skills match up neatly. If Logan is a " who, what, where,
when" kind of cop, Wheeler is the one who wants to know "why." She's
not a Quantico-trained profiler, but rather a literate, resourceful,
and dedicated partner. She's also direct, dry, and funny.
Wheeler is also the protoge of the new Captain, Danny Ross (Eric
Bogosian). Ross has just completed a successful three year stint on a
Joint Task Force that focused on money laundering. Major Case is his
reward, and he is determined to make the most of the opportunity.
Ross is smart, opinionated, and mroe hands-on than his predecessor,
Captain Deakins. He also knows Deakins lost his job for political
reasons, and until he's secure in his position, he does not want to
give his detectives the free reign they enjoyed in the past. That
said, the detectives will quickly realize he is a team player, who will
stand up for them no matter what. He's a divorced father of two boys,
and is fiercely protective of them.

3. WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE OLD CHARACTERS??
During season five (2004-2005), Vincent D'Onofrio collapsed on the set due to exhaustion, and rather than leave the show, he made a deal with Dick Wolf to only appear in half of all subsequent episodes. Chris Noth was invited to return and reprise his role as Detective Mike Logan, whom he played in the first five years of the original series.
Jamie Sheridan, who played Captain James Deakins, elected to leave the show for the same reason as Courtney B. Vance, who played ADA Ron Carver: both are west coast based actors who were unable to see their families as often as they liked while filming in New York nine months out of the year.
Logan's first partner, Det. Barrek, played by Annabella Sciorra, purportedly left the show due to creative differences. She was replaced by Det. Wheeler.
These two sets of detectives alternate weeks.
I also like Goren episodes than logan and hope CI directors stick to the Goren episodes.
Why was the other Captain replaced? I've been wondering.
I wish they would bring back Courtney Vance and I wish they would only show Goren episodes, I know he needs rest but I don't like the Logan character. I really love watching him, because he is so unique.
Why were the characters from the previouse season (2005-06) written off of the show? Were there things going on in real life, or was it just to change the show?
What happen to Cortney B. Vance, and is there a replacement?
Annabella Sciorra left the show and so did we.

I am an avid watcher of the Law and Order series. Will Courtney Vance return to the CI part of the series?
I have an idea for a show based on deal or no deal. the killer would be an unhappy contestent that decided not to deal and went on to lose everything then each girl begins to dissapear one by one with the exception of the one girl hodling the attache showing the big money any thooughts on this?
CI is my favorite Law and Order-- will you produce an equal number of episodes with both detective teams?
We also really prefer Goren and Eames and not the other team, but heard that 'Bobby' had a real life health scare from overworking last year. Will he be cutting back on his work? I care about his health but really enjoy his character.
Also, miss Deakins! Did not care for the new Captian. Too dry. Unbelievable!

long time fan who really is disappointed with some of the cast changes, especially the Captain. Yikes.. can u plz make him more human in the coming episodes? I understand he wants a 'tight rein' but gee...can he be more than a robot-like drone? He also delivers his lines too fast and he is hard to follow. I liked the old captain. i don't remember seeing an episode when he leaves. is there going to be any explanation for this change?
Also.. isn't it suppose to be LAW and Order? and not just ORDER? What has happened to the original format of the cops getting the bad guy and the prosecuters going to court? why is it all about the cops only?
I've watched L&O since the very first episode every aired, continued with the offshoots, SVU and CI, and I am disappointed with this new format. That was the magic formula that worked for years, why mess with something that has worked?
I Like Goren & Eames, I do not like Logan, I don't usually watch CI on the nights he is on, he doesn't have the edginess the others have... Keep Goren & Eames everyweek...
Like the new dynamic the new captain brings to the show. Although I still think of him as the bad guy in Under Siege 2.
Why did Capt. Deakins leave the show??
I'm glad to hear that Ross will turn out to be a team player. It would prove difficult for the show if they went from having a supportive captain like Deakins to having a captain who wanted to ride roughshod over them all.
And who is this Nicole everyone is mentioning??
What happened to the three cast members who are gone? I missed about a month or two of episodes last season.
I don't think that a romantic relationship would be good for the show. These are two different people. However, I can see a interest between Nicole and Goren. This is what fuels there passion, but without them every becoming physical. She is almost his intellectual equal, he hasn't found anyone like her. Maybe you can have Nicole send his mother flowers, a card or some type of message that lets us know that she is still around.

There is a quality of CI that is atypical of TV police dramas.
I can't put my finger on it but this episode was typical TV.
Are all the Law and Order show shot in NY only? Do they ever have the opportunity to work outside of the Big Apple?
I like the Ross character, he seems more involved. I am looking forward to seeing more of Games. I think it is a good idea to not make it a romantic relationship

Bogosian is another great and refreshing addition to the cast. He is also a great actor.
