When you come back you don't have to figure out who has slept with who, who had kids, what happened.

There is a case to be solved and it's solved at the end of the episode.

I love the show-I have seen every episode and got a lot of people addicted like me. I do have to mention that I miss some of the twists. There don't seem to be as many as there used to be.

I agree I don't miss knowing more about the characters personal lives, because honestly that's not what I'm interested in. I'm interested in their solving the crime. I like not having all the extra drama.

One of my favorite 'tricks' is when characters from the different series make guest appearances on the other shows...thats always great fun.

Plus you can watch them at least 2 or 3 times and still be surprised by the ending most of the time

that is one of my Favorite things about L & O, you don't have to watch it and wonder what's going on. Every show stands alone, most of the time. but i love the crossovers
