I Left My Heart In San Francisco... At Intel!

Posted April 27, 07:36 PM

I'm sure that you're all familiar with Intel logo that says "Intel Inside"... But have you ever wondered what's inside Intel?! (ps - Did I just break your BRAIN?)

Today we found out what's inside Intel when Intel threw open their doors and let us wander around their campus!! We got to see a bunch of really cool stuff, including the Intel museum, the inside of a "clean room" where they make those famous Core 2 Duo chips, and a room full of Intel executives! After this visit I can finally wrap my brain around my laptop's spec sheet, and even know what it means to "scream through single and multi-threaded applications!"

IT WAS CRAZY. THESE PEOPLE ARE SO MUCH SMARTER THAN ME.

I have to say, one of the best parts of the day was when the people at Intel (I call them "Intellians") surprised Conan for his birthday! There was a cake and everything! Pretty awesome, huh? How nice was that?! I'll tell you how nice: SUPER NICE. Those guys may be in the computer business, but they know a little bit about the business of the heart as well.

(Pause for sappy music)

Now enough reading and more watching! Enjoy some heartwarming and hilarious exclusive Intel Insider video goodness! Have a great weekend – the next time you read this blog I'll be rocking it out in SAN FRANCISCO!

See you then!

The best part was with the kids at the end...too cute!
I can't wait to see Conan on The Tonight Show in a few hours. I've never seen him being interviewed, let alone being interviewed by one of the best in the business.

Say hi to Conan for me! ;)

************************************************************************
Aaron Responds: Yeah, that was my favorite part too! I hoped you like the Leno interview... I think it's always a bit weird to see talk show hosts being interviewed on other talk shows (like Letterman on Regis this week). It's great, though!

oh mah gawd.
You blew my mind. Fo' Serial.

ALSO, I can't WAIT for the Tonight show tonight!!!
I've never had this much anticipation for a show!!
Only about an hour and a half till it comes on!
I can't wait to see them together, it's gonna be so funny!

And great update, once again! I hope you're having fun over on the west coast! BUT DON'T GET TOO COMFY!
Lauren K

Aaron Responds: I'm really trying not to get too comfy out here in SF, but it's so beautiful! You've got mountains, water, trolleys... WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR?! NYC is my home, though. Have no fear!

Conan seems really good with kids.
Like he's been hired for birthday parties before or something.

Lauren K
I would have gotten him a gift, but I'm poor :(

************************************************************************
Aaron Responds: Don't worry about it! I'm poor too.

He's great with kids! A while back, when Andy was still here, we did a show with an audience full of children! We ended the show with a giant silly string fight! It was totally awecellent!!!

Aaron,
Saw your pics on NBC11's website, great job! You got some great shots in there! And your interview was cool, too.
Can't wait for SF,
Sev

ps - Conan on The Tonight Show last night? BRILLIANT. Home run, baby!

************************************************************************
Aaron Responds: Hey, thanks a lot! I didn't really think that they were gonna ask me all those questions, so I was a little (totally) unprepared! Did I do okay?!

I was in complete contrast to Conan on Leno! Man, he rocked the house! What a pro! They should give him his own show! Wait a second...

Aww, I loved seeing Conan with the kids so cute!
I only wish I could see him with his own kids....It would be so awesome...
-Hey, a girl can dream, right? ^^

I also saw your interview on NBC11's website, you did very well :D and the pix were very cool!

************************************************************************
Aaron Responds: Hey thanks! I still have yet to see any of the interview... But everyone on the sow has already seen it! Let the ribbing begin!

Please, Please, please!

I need to C Conan in SF. I've e'-mailed y'all several times but I haven't heard back from you.

Now I think he needs to come to my house in Los Altos Hills Ca. (That's just about

30minutes South of SF) and play badminton w/me and have a drink. It's okay if he comes to

play @ night because I have a lighted mini-football/badminton field in my beautiful backyard.

So cameras will be able to shoot us in action. I love NBC and I love Conan.

In September I'll be turning 30-years-old.

And all wanted to do for my 30Th Birthday is fly to NYC to see Conan.

Unfortunately my friend is getting married the day before my birthday in Sand Diego and I

am one her bride maids.

Please grant me my 30Th birthday wish with tickets/and or a visit from Conan.

I couldn't think of a better way to bring in my thirties.

************************************************************************
Aaron Responds: Oh no! I'm sorry you didn't get tickets... My advice at this point would be to go standby and hope for the best!

Badminton, huh? Dood, I RULE at badminton...I'm so good that when I play, it's called "Badassminton".

I HOPE I'M DOING THIS RIGHT, BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE HELL I'M DOING!?

************************************************************************
Aaron Responds: You're doing great!

Aaron,
Yes, you were great in your interview! It was cool to hear someone who knows what life behind the scenes of Late Night works.
(I'm still looking into the blog - human marriage. I'll keep you posted.)

Hope you're having a blast in SF. Take some pictures!!
Sev

************************************************************************
Aaron Responds: Hey, thanks a lot! Someone told me this morning that the camera adds ten pounds... TO MY HEAD. I took it as a compliment.

Yes! SF is beautiful! I'm having a great time!

Conan

I must say it was very exciting to have you around the Intel building. I work in the D2 Fab, I heard that you went to the area I work, due to a PM I was not in the area at the time... I look forward to seeing the show, and you'll share more of the inetl videos with us. I hope you had fun visiting.

Aaron Responds: Oh man! I'm sorry we missed you! At any rate, thank you for showing us an awesome time!

Does the fact that I live in Phoenix have anything to do with me not getting tickets? I applied back when he first announced he was doing these shows. Also, the Intel thing is great. I'm watching the show right now. I wish I could be there.

************************************************************************
Aaron Responds: We're here all week! There's still time for you to catch a plane and get in the standby line!

Great stuff! I'm a former Intel engineer - what you captured and showed on Friday was spot-on!

We missed Conan on Thursday even though we had our confirmation email for tickets! We were so excited about going to the show - we were prepared to get to the Orpheum at 10am. But a last minute work meeting killed it :(

I blogged about it here if you're interested: http://www.mychurch.org/blog/25249/Conan-at-Intel

Any chance you guys will come out to SF again in the future?

************************************************************************
Aaron Responds: Hey Joe! Thanks for trying, at least! I hate it when work gets in the way of awesome things, but I'd be lying if I said that it hasn't happened to me! I'm not sure if we'll be back or not - but I would say probably not, at least, not under the "Late Night" moniker! You never know, though... That Tenderloin was really something...

I am looking for the clip "Conan O'brien at D2" when he went to visit Intel when he was in San Francisco. It is hysterical! It was on youtube for a while, but now it is gone. I looked for it on the NBC website but it is not there either. I want to show it to some of my friends that work at Intel. It's the one where he goes into the factory and then he is playing Hungry, hungry Hippos with the chess geek! It's so FUNNY! Please let me know if you know where I can find it! Thanks, :-)

************************************************************************
Aaron Responds: Hey Susan! Try pasting this bad boy into your browser:

http://www.nbc.com/Late_Night_with_Conan_O'Brien/travels/sanfrancisco_video.shtml#

Scroll down a bit, and look on the right hand side where the videos are listed - the Intel remote is there in two parts! Enjoy!
