All Quiet on The Tonight Show Front

It is super quiet here in the office today.  Conan is out doing something Conany, Andy's out of town being all Andyey, and everyone else left early. We shot a new Thursday video, which should be up shortly (it'll appear in the "Featured Video" section at the top when the machines spit it out), and that's about all that happened today.  Oh - I went to In n Out Burger with Jordan, and got a 4x4... And I feel like I've been punched in the stomach by a fist of beef!  In a good way, of course.  ;)

Well... That will about do it for today.  Enjoy the video!  Enjoy the weekend!  And we'll see you all right back here on Monnnnnnnnnnnnday for another sweet run of ALL NEW TONIGHT SHOWS!!!

I've got Choco Taco on Le Brain...

Friends.

I don't know where everyone is getting these crazy ideas, but Max has NOT left the show.  He's on tour with Bruce Springsteen for the next 8 weeks or so.  After that, he will be right back here on our show to entertain you all!  Have no fear.

Now that THAT'S cleared up, let's move on to today's blog!  First off, I must apologise - I was trying to get up a video every day this week, but it's not gonna happen for today.  Sorry, party people.  HOWEVER, I just posted all the brand new signatures of The Wall from last week's guests!  Highlights include Snoop Dogg, the late Billy Mays, and my favorite celebrity Wall autograph yet - 17 year old record setting mountainclimber Johnny Strange!  Very cool.

Again, there is very little going on in the office today. Choco Taco sent over a bunch of their delicious products yesterday that everyone gorged themselves on.... But there's none left today, so people are just milling about, aimlessly. Actually, that's not ENTIRELY true - certain departments like booking, research, and music all work weeks ahead, so they're still running on all cylinders... As is the Man himself - Conan's shooting another remote in a secret location outside of Los Angeles today!  That's a hardworking man, right there!  Bam!

Speaking of BAM... Here's your epic battle for today.  Here's the thing, though. I thought all of your suggestions sucked.  Sorry guys.  It's your fault, not mine.  You just didn't bring the heat!  You didn't bring the funk!  You didn't bring... Any good suggestions that I wanted to draw.  Also, I was a little tired of drawing so much VIOLENCE.  So instead... I drew THIS:

Hello everybody. This will be the last post for the Late Night Insider, which is now closed. Thanks to everyone who read this sweet blog, and a double thank you to all those who commented! This blog will be left here as a reminder of it was like to work at Late Night with Conan O'Brien, in the glorious building of 30 Rock. Feel free to add a comment or two, if you'd like - just be aware that I will no longer be answering them!

Stuff and other junk

Hello you beautiful people. This blog entry marks the very last on the "Late Night Insider"... Because a week from today, we will be launching our Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien PreShow Site!! That's right, sugarsnap - next Monday, May 4th, I will be starting back on the open road of daily blogging, and counting down the final month before The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien debuts on June 1st!! Can you believe that it's nearly only a month left before Conan hits the airwaves once again to rescue your sanity and save you from the lonely abyss of boredom that you poor people have fallen into?!?!?!! ME NEITHER! ;)

Speaking of boredom, we've gotta get Conan back on the air soon - I think he's had extra time to practice his punching or something. He's becoming frighteningly efficient at boxing - usually I just go for his freakishly long cartoony legs and everything's fine, but he's getting faster and dodging out of the way!!

*Gulp*

Another disturbing development: Him and Andy were in the hall the other day, waiting to record more commentary tracks for the upcoming Andy Barker, PI DVDs(!), and he explained to Andy that he too is allowed to hit me as hard and as many times as he can. WTF!!! At first, Andy was like "Noooo. I couldn't punch Aaron like that", so I thought I was safe. BUT THEN HE TURNED AND PICKED UP A BIG BOX AND SMASHED IT ON ME. Dammit! He then started listing off things that he's planning on hitting me with: A cookie sheet, a metal chair, a ladder... If we don't get back on the air soon, I might have to invest in some body armor. Or a stunt double. Or some Icy Hot.

Anyway, I'll see you guys all next Monday... .ON OUR BRAND NEW TONIGHT SHOW (pre)SITE!!!!! YAHOOOOO!!!!

Top of the Props!

Another week has passed, and our staff continues to grow!! It seems like every day I see more and more people in the office! This past week segment producers Frank Smiley, Dan Ferguson and Rachel Witlieb started romping around, as well as Graphics gurus Pierre Bernard and Kevin Frank!! Awesome stuff. It's starting to feel like we're actually doing shows... Instead of being stuck in this crazy dream of sun and flowers and new building smells.

The BIGGEST development over this past week was the fact that we are now booking tickets for the first month of Tonight Shows with Conan!! It's a hot ticket - requests have been pouring in! The good news for you folks is that we use a lottery system, so there's always a chance you could snag some dope tickets if you request them relatively soon!! The New Set*

What's this? He's writing the blog at a normal hour when the East Coast is still awake?! THAT'S RIGHT, PARTY PEOPLE - with each new week I am adjusting to Los Angeles more and more. Last week it was training my body to deal with the enormous amount of Mexican food that I've been shoving into my burrito hole (that's what LAliens call "The mouth") - and this week I am learning to deal with THE TIME DIFFERENCE. A Note to my East Coast Peeps: Now if I call you in the middle of the night and wake you up, it's because I AM A MEAN BASTARD AND KNOW WHAT I'M DOING. Also: Sorry for the heavy breathing.

Okay, so, like I touched upon briefly a week ago, our staff here at the show has pretty much grown by a good 80 percent this past week: Nearly everyone is here in the office on a daily basis! It's a LOT more fun... We've moved out of "weird lonely limbo" territory and moved into "HOLY CRAP GUYZ WE ALL ACTUALLY LIVE IN LA AND WORK AT THE NEW TONIGHT SHOW ISN'T THIS AMAZING?!???" territory. Clearly, the latter is a tad more enjoyable.

The new set is looking mighty fine - it's already about half built, which is just about as incredible to watch them do as it was to see them rip out the old Late Night set!! Don't expect any photos for a bit, though - we're keeping it under wraps until the time is right. ;) HOWEVER, I have taken the liberty of drawing an artistic representation of what's been built so far, to give you all a little peek at what to expect come June 1st!!! Ready? LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!

WHERE'S MY FREAKING BLOG POST, BLEY?! IT'S MONDAY AND I COME HERE TO THIS SITE AND YOU HAVE POSTED EXACTLY ZERO POSTS TODAY, JERKWEED.

I hate it when you're angry, baby.

Listen, here's the deal - I was out of town this weekend (NYC, if can you believe it) and really reeeeaaaaally tried to get Chill to write a sweet entry about how location scouting and all that differs in LA from NYC - He's got a couple of great stories already! But the REASON he's got a couple of great stories already is that because he's been so busy. So busy... Working. His real job, not his moonlighting job as part time blogerator like yours truly. I was already in the air and out of touch when I got his note that he couldn't swing it today.... And that's about how we arrived here!
