'KITT' you're an IDIOT....really hope there's a second season.

I really really hope there is a 2nd season, and I will really miss Knight Rider until it comes back:(

I've gotta say, guys. For the longest time, I was on the fence on whether or not I wanted there to be a second season. I felt like I was watching a show that was pretending to be Knight Rider and wasn't quite making it. There were some great moments that made me think that maybe it was workable, but then I heard there was going to be a reboot of the series, that things were going to be making a change toward the way things were - and I'll even tell you that I worried about that. I do understand that the audience has changed since the 80s, and I won't pretend that it hasn't. People expect different things from TV now, but one thing remains. People expect entertainment.

The way the series started was entertainment. But it wasn't Knight Rider.

Since the reboot, I feel like the show has started to become Knight Rider again. The characters are becoming people instead of cardboard cutouts. The storylines actually relate instead of feeling cold and impersonal. But most importantly, the show is an hour where you can watch a guy and his talking car and be sure that in the end - even if the ep is a two-parter - the good guys will somehow win. They'll win because the car is the brains, the guy is the brawn, and his backup generally has his back.

I still worry about a few things, but I'll count those off to me remaining an 80s idealist. I still like the old FLAG model, where nobody carried a gun and Kitt didn't like the one armament he had. And I do think there are a lot of things that need explained. But I've got to say that the reboot has really made me gain faith in this new Knight Rider, and I'm finally watching for enjoyment instead of a feeling of Train Wreck Syndrome. If it continues as the reboot's been so far, count me in for a second season. I'm glad you guys were able to bring back that KR feel, and I'm grateful.

Don't let any internal resistance get in your way, this episode made me feel like I had one of my old KR seasons out. Loved it, I also love how you showed KITT interacting with people when Mike's not around you definitely should keep that up. Lovin the reboot guys! NBC it would be foolish to drop Knight Rider, it's just starting to find it's groove I hope you sign 'em up for a second season.

Loved the episode. Had my laughing quite a bit, and tons of action too. Great mystery, and it was fun to see Zoe and Billy competing to solve it. Was not impressed with the Mike/Bar tender romance. I know the original Mike had a new girl every week, but I don't think that's necessary. It also doesn't make sense how it was done. When he and Sarah are telling everyone there's nothing going on and being cold to each other every opportunity he had to be with a hot girl he turns them down telling them it's complicated. Now that they're warming up around each other and have had sex he sleeps with another girl. Makes him look shallow, he shouldn't be shallow he's a Knight, he should have more honor than that. I just don't want to see the classic Ross/Rachel relationship, you know they're going to end up together eventually but in the meantime they are going to be back and forth like a yoyo. Just get them together and let them be. Other than that the episode was great. Loved when KITT screamed "KITT you scream like a girl" priceless. I know it's probably going to upset some people since KITT doesn't have feelings so can't feel scared and should scream, but considering the relationship he's building with Mike Sarah and Charles were obviously wrong about that and KITT does have feelings, plus he was scared in Knight Fever. Okay I'm going to go watch it again online now. so awesome.

GREAT! Wow! Just finished watching it online! PLEASE GIVE US A SECOND SEASON!!!!! Great episode. The "small" story was perfect. KITT screaming was the absolute perfect touch - oh my god. I am absolutely blown away!!!!!!!!

I have to admit that I was one of the most critical of this show when it first started. I liked the show for what it was...it just wasn't Knight Rider. Since the reboot or retooling or whatever they are calling it, it now has the feel of what Knight Rider is supposed to be about. I have enjoyed it thoroughly since that point and can only hope that NBC will see that this is a different show than what they started with and will give it another season and will promote it with the new (original KR) format.

Great episode. Could have done without the scream, but it didn't ruin anything since it was over in a split-second. Two requests, however:

1. Please keep the KNIGHT license plate consistent in the episode (this was sort of a trademark of the original series), or at least have MasterKey edit it to have the same plate. The 77KR117 plate doesn't make any sense.

2. When delving into issues of Mike's past, please be weary of some of the elements in the Pilot. We saw this in Fly by Knight when Mike was comforting Danny about the killing of his (Mike's) mother. This week, however, Mike went to Sonny's because this is where Mike's father and he shared their first beer. But if we know that Michael Knight (aka David Hasselhoff) is Mike's dad, and Mike grew up not knowing his dad, then how could this "sharing" of their first beer have ever occurred? Most people might not catch it - but those of us who care do notice little things like this (particularly when the concept of Mike being Michael Knight Sr.'s son is such an important part of the series).

But otherwise, great job! The retool has DEFINATELY resulted in a MUCH better show, and I for one am hoping, petitioning and looking forward to a second season.

Um...anonymous 12:31pm...Michael clearly said that Sarah's dad aka. Charles Graiman took him for the beer not his father. No plot hole there.

Regarding Mike's first beer, yes it was Dr. Graiman. I had to rewind my tape to be sure, but it was Graiman.

This episode truly was the closest one yet to the feeling of the original series.

I am both a fan of Knight Rider and American Idol and I can say I hope NBC plays some Knight Rider re-runs on a different night for new viewers to watch, because AI just kills everything. Perhaps KR can be moved to Friday nights?

Oooh, I have got to say, this is my least favorite episode of the entire season thus far. Parts seemed a little too predictable, especially with the "whodunit" mystery.

The comical scenes of the episode saved it:
-the art gallery host's singing/humming
-KITT versus the two lugs
-Billy and Zoe

Mike/Sarah fans took a HIT in this episode. Maybe I read all the signs incorrectly: are they even exclusively together? Sarah seemed to be instigating Mike and even pushing him toward Julie. I found that odd; that was confusing to me. Was Mike calling Sarah "girlfriend" in the bank episode just something he figured he'd drop in as a conversation starter?

tommyguard3, I agree, there was no need for the hookup between Julie and Mike. I assume they had sex, given Mike's comments. Another Ross/Rachel relationship would be in the soap-realm and something I would not expect from Knight Rider. This Mike Knight just seemed nobler to me, but I guess I'm wrong.

Alona Tal did a great job playing Sonny's daughter, but somehow she always plays CHARACTERS I tend to dislike!

No matter what happens, as a fan of the original series, THANK YOU. Matt, you GET IT. This was my favorite episode of the entire series, by far, and the closest to the classic series that we all expected to find renewed in this new series. I'll never understand why GST was so resistant to this formula...this is the foundation from which a modern Knight Rider series should build on, and you wrote it beautifully. From a true Knight Rider fan, thanks for listening.

The Mike/Julie thing at the end just seemed out of character for what we have seen with Mike's relationship with Sarah thus far. I was pretty disappointed. Perhaps there is more explanation in the next episode (since the episodes are out of order), or that nothing really went on between Mike and Julie. I want to see Mike and Sarah together, and would rather it not turn too soap operaish. I think they have a great relationship, and would like to see it stay that way!

Loved the episode. Will hate NBC if they don't pick you up. I like the nostalgic feel of this episode. You knocked it out of the park with this one. I know that you will never please the hardcore fans with every detail and that certain people will hate that it is still a mustang instead of the original or the no gun versus gun but who cares.... you rocked it in my book. This hardcore fan will watch the original on Netflix and catch the new one on NBC.com. I still can't get over how great this episode was. Wow! I liked the comic relief that was my favorite part. That is the signature of the old show. I like how kitt used to have these sidebars with common strangers and for a moment in time changed there lives. I even found it nostalgic seeing new mike pick up a new girl like in the old show. I will admit that I being guy was wondering if his old flame would get mad about his new endeavor. I know that most would hate it but to me that is the teaser. in the old kr, mike lost his love right away within the first episodes and pretty much spent the rest of the seasons looking for love in all the wrong places. The teaser was wondering if Bonnie or April would fall for him. The great thing was that it wasn't mike who broke up with the women... but that the women chose something else or someone else other than mike, be it career, family, or fresh start. well don't mean to ramble, can't wait for the next episode. sincerely a fan. ps- praying for season two.

Did you change the operator? I really enjoyed the camerawork on this episode, you had some very beautiful shots there (moving camera during the chase - :* ). I was a bit worried after reading the clicheisque synopsis and chit-chat at the beginning of the ep in the batcave, but it all worked out very well in the end.
I like where the show has been going since the reboot. Bringing back a 20 years old, somewhat childish, and then again unique plot, is understandably quite challenging. Looks like you are starting to sort things out.

I hope the bad economy doesn't cut people away from good quality entertainment. One can really need a moment of escaping reality during these days. Looking forward to s2 (:

I would love to see a season season now that the show has taken this direction. Before the reboot KR just feel too much like it was trying to be the James Bourne films, but with a talking car and too many characters. I was so happy to see the show come closer to the essense of the original Knight Rider series. For a show like this, less is more I think. It's especially wonderful to see Kitt becoming a real character instead of a robotic gimmick, please keep that up! I'm seeing that next week will be the season finale rather than series finale, so I'm hopefuly that means a second season. Great job with these last couple eps, keep it up!!

Want to thank the writers for adding in that on star thing that was great!!! Maybe you might need to do a reacking yard show with kitt using the magnet anyway just idea's There loads of things that can be done with kitt and mike if you have the right thinking !!maybe an idea would be have a tie in with another nbc show save money for more show time. the celebrity apprentice a plot to kill off the big guy and kinght gets on the show as the next big thing but finds out that one of the players are going to kill the big guy and kitt becomes the apprentice !!! He could save mr.trump. Or off to england as they ask knight rider to find out that some one whats to blow up the big long train tunnel in it with some spy who trys to blow it up and kitt and knight rides the rails to stop the train and grab the bomber!!

Hey again! Billy, if we get a second season, will we see your fire pole? It sounds cool! W. E. T. H., I so totally know what you mean about Firefox. To NBC: This show has an AMAZING amount of potential, far more than any of your other shows that I can see (and believe me, I've checked them all out). If you don't do a second season, you will lose lots of fans and lots of money. And for heaven's sake, ADVERTISE the show! No one is going to watch if they don't know it's on@! Most of my friends didn't know there was a new KR series until I told them! This should not happen! That's probably the reason the ratings aren't higher than they are (but I think they're pretty good now myself - 5 million viewers is nothing to sneeze at). Hope you guys are working on the Season 2 premiere!!!!

I'm so totally hooked on the new KR! Way better than the original! Both the car and Mike are totally hot! I can't get enough of the witt, action, and overall entertainment of this KR! I'm totally addicted! It's a total hour that I can lose and not regret... I consider it time very well spent! It's an escape! An awesome team that helps the good people, and always wins. It's a retro ideal, however, it is so totally needed in this day and age.

I must admit, I initially watched the first episode out of pure curiousity, but was beyond hooked immediately! The show has a general theme of the old KR, but is so much more updated, and isn't so hard to imagine in the future. Alright, so a Mustang instead of a Trans Am for KITT? OK. Sexy. More modern. Good. As a car lover, I was a bit shocked, but have settled in nicely. I love the morphing into the various versions of KITT.

This new KR? It totally takes the spotlight over the old KR, but we can't totally discredit the old KR... I mean without it, would we really have this new one? I mean... Quit bashing the old one, people need to quit bashing the new one. Take the old version as it is... a good start and a very good show for its' time.

The new KR? Awesome show, great comraderie on camera, exciting, entertaining, and totally perfect for today. It is today, not the 80's. People, please wake up and see this. Live for today, but remember yesterday... Learn from yesterday, and appreciate today. Don't wish for yesterday. Seriously! This show is awesome! There are so few good shows on with good morals and good plots, why not continue on with this trend?

In a time of rapidly growing idiocracy in the news and media, why not escape to an overall good, feel good show portraying a hero with an awesome smart car, and portraying intelligence as hot, sexy, and cool, as well as comedic.

PLEASE PLEASE PLESAE NBC! Keep Knight Rider going! Don't cancel it!

This episode was by FAR the BEST episode of the season! It's good to see that you have finally got the show back to how Knight Rider is MEANT to be: good fun! None of the over-serious stuff you started off the season with, just good fun that mirrors the original series. It even had two crooks trying to steal KITT, just like in the original show! Brilliant!!!

I've spoken to man people about the new Knight Rider show and I appear to be the only person who watches it. When asked about WHY they don't watch it, everyone has responded with the same thing; "it's taking itself too seriously. The original show was cool because it DIDN'T take itself too seriously, it was all about one guy and his talking car". I've encouraged these people to start watching the show again as it has now changed back to how Knight Rider is meant to be!

Good work with the recent episodes guys! PLEASE make more episodes like this! We don't need episodes that are like a cross between 24, James Bond & Transformers (like the season started off with).... if we want that we'll watch 24, James Bond and Transformers ;-)

NBC is at least still calling this a season finale. Maybe we'll get a second season as a season replacement? I could live with that.

Hmmm, NBC now has all the Knight Rider episodes online again to watch. Previously, they'd only have a few. These episodes expire in September. I guess the thing to do is watch some again to show interest! Perhaps this means NBC has_not_made up its mind on Knight Rider yet!?!? Then again they could have made up their minds and the site will come down in September? I'm going to think positive here.

It's time for Hat's really really really LATE big opinionated essay!

First, excuses: I've been sick. I DID see the episode when it aired, then decided I could wait to post a review, and then, sick. I'm re-watching as I write, though.

Second, disclaimer: The opinions and observations contained in this review are mine, and if you don't want to read constructive criticism (essentially, what I liked, what I didn't like, and more importantly, why), feel free to scroll on by. If you'd like to discuss one of my points, try emailing me-- I sign all these posts. I rarely revisit at blog posts I've already read.

Let's start with the stuff I liked.

The secret origins of the awesome couch are revealed! And it turns out there's an awesome chair, too. And a work rota that I like-- so good for Sarah there, taking her days off last. Not only is it the nice thing to do, it also allows her to note any problems when Mike, Billy, and Zoe take their turns and compensate for them.

Kitt playing silly buggers with the car thieves was long-awaited and lots of fun. I'm glad he finally got a chance to do that.

Mike and Julie have AWESOME chemistry. That's what chemistry should look like, and she was a really good casting choice.

Mike has worked as a bouncer before, hasn't he? He takes to it well.

Billy and Zoe were great-- it's fun to watch them play off of each other when it has a POINT, both plot-moving and character developing, and it's interesting that Billy never realized Zoe was his boss. (I never realized that. It's never been made really clear just what the heck Zoe's job IS.)

I liked Phil as a red herring. You actually had me going for a while there, especially considering I called the sherrif in Fight Knight pretty much as soon as he turned up on the scene.

First the kiss in Hard Day's, then the valentine's e-cards, and now the innuendo? The Mike/Kitt subtext is going to be text if you guys don't watch it-- but that's okay, because I like it. It's adorable. (I liked the bed thing, too.)

And I liked the level of smartass Kitt's been at in the last couple of episodes-- in Fight Knight, he was... just exactly at the top of the How Snarky Should Kitt Be scale. Didn't quite go overboard, but if he'd been any snarkier it would've been. He was perfect in this one.

I also liked the art gallery with the dead cars... granted, this is because I looked at it and went "Oh, hey, slogism!" (Slogism: How to tell the world just how big a Transformers nerd you are with one simple link-- http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Slogism ) Well, okay, the slogism thing AND the fact that apparently you can say 'assclown' on TV now.

It's nice to see Mike not being the biggest badass on the floor, too, and actually having a fight be a challenge once in a while.

There are things I didn't like-- but if I'd written this two weeks ago the way I planned, I wouldn't have thought of anything but the weird timeline issue.

The furniture-moving scene and Zoe's little Starlight Express run through the holography room indicate a larger problem-- a plot hole in the restructuring. FLAG now consists of Sarah, Billy, Zoe, Mike, and Kitt; okay. Two cases so far have been things Mike has stumbled into, Kitt found one case, and one case found FLAG in the form of an old friend of Mike's. Okay. Where this runs into a problem is... the Foundation for Law and Government is going to take a lot more to run it than four people, a supercomputer, a giant hangar, and Sarah's nine-figure inheritance. Billy hauling in (awesome) thrift store furniture is a pretty good illustration of that.

In the original series, we suspended our disbelief because there was a framework already in place-- a lab, some anonymous technicians, Devon's office, Wilton's castle in the first season and what looked like a re-purposed country club in the other three seasons, Kathy the recurring receptionist, Dr. Alpert the staff medico... it was implied and understood that there existed channels for the people Michael and Kitt would be helping to reach out and ask for help.

These guys don't seem to have any channels; it looks like they're doing what Charles seemed to be doing in the pilot-- running the whole show out of a really kickass garage.

Now, maybe in four hours (I'm on the west coast), I'll feel like an idiot for saying this, but it still needs to be said. Love the smaller feel, I really do, but you've gone from too much to not enough.

Also, about Sonny's. While I DO like the history of it, and the continuation of Charles treating Mike like a son, I trip on two details: one, Mike Traceur is supposed to be dead, and that's not going to keep working if Mike Knight keeps visiting people he used to know, and two, "Mike helped my dad eighty-six some tough customers back in the day." Back in WHICH day? According to the driver's license we saw in the pilot, Mike is twenty-five. Didn't go to college. Enlisted, fought in Iraq, called Sarah to propose and then disappeared 'for three years' (since they met again in the pilot, I guess we can assume he popped the question in 2005, when he would've been twenty-two). At that point he'd been in the Army long enough for Special Forces training and to be tapped and trained for the KACRRE project, not to mention The Mysterious Tattoo People. And Charles took him to Sonny's for his first beer, and the legal drinking age in California is twenty-one.

Basically, I'm very confused about the timeline.

And although I fully expected Mike and Julie to end up in bed together given their awesome chemistry, I'm kind of stuck on the fact that this is the third time we've seen Mike in a dubious-consent situation. Yes, okay, in this instance it could be an unreliable-narrator thing-- Mike was probably teasing when he asked what happened after he passed out-- but this comes after King's Pawn, where he told Sarah no and she pressured him into it anyway... and after Iguana, where he told Zoe no, and she said sure, fine, so long as she didn't have any tequila, and they ended up naked and 'last night was epic' anyway. It's been written as funny and as something to shrug off; I think that as writers you all need to stop and ask yourselves if it would be so funny or so easy to shrug off if it were a woman in Mike's place. If the answer is no, you really, really need to ask yourselves why it's okay to do to a guy. This is the other side of the gender issues thing again.

The only other problem with this episode, far as I'm concerned, is the methane bubble.

Or rather, the fact that Julie decided to not drain off the bubble and move the bar. Methane is highly flammable, as shown in the episode, and it's also really, really not something you want to be inhaling on a regular basis.

Overall, though, really strong episode. I enjoyed watching it and re-watching it, and if you look at the the issues I had with it, well, only one of them was about this episode specifically rather than being part of an over-arching problem (and those of course would have to be addressed in the second season that I really hope you get). There was way, way more to enjoy here than to criticize, and that is just plain awesome. Way to go.

Thank you so much for the rebooted series, I love it so much! Each week, I come to Knight Rider for smiles and "oh noes!." In today's world everyone needs something like that. Thank you. Thank you for the heart pounding "will he make it"s and 'I freakin' knew he'd do it"s. KITT and Mike are a perfect team, as are Mike and Sarah, and Billy and Zoe. I don't know what I'd do without my weekly dose of Knight Industries and FLAG. Please, please please, from all Knight Rider Fans, give use season two! Ditch the Neilson system, it's outdated. Simply take a peek around the internet to see how much support Knight Rider REALLY has!

please give us season 2 i really enjoy the show if nbc does cancell it i will never watch nbc again and im sure others want either there rattings will go down big time i will make sure of that .

is paul campbell's signing on to star in ABC's "NO Heroics" a sign of no more season 2 for KR, or will they write-out bill morgan?
