Knight Rider

DAY TURNS INTO NIGHT

Tonight's episode was a tough one. On a number of levels. Allow me to explain.

As I’m sure you know by now, “Day Turns Into Knight” is the second half of a two-part episode. Rob Wright wrote the first half, did a fantastic job, leaving our heroes in as dire a situation as he could conjure: the warehouse blown up and Carrie down; Mike and Kitt forced to act as the couriers of a nuclear bomb; and a madman vanished with one African Ambassador. Sounds great, right? It was. Except that then it became my job to figure out how to fix everything.

I mean, what would you do? Oh, and did I mention you have create a graceful and meaningful exit for two main characters? People you know and care about and cast in the show in the first place?

Like I said, tough on a number of levels, but I think we all rose to the challenge, and so here we are, with “Day Turns Into Knight.” I was re-teamed with director Allan Kroeker, who shot the hell out of my first episode and outdid himself with this second one. The action looks great. The performances are right on. The pacing is fast and steady. It works, and I owe a lot of that to Mr. Kroeker.

The opening sequence with “Speeded Kitt” our stunt unit shot over two days on a freeway we shut down in Long Beach, and I think it’s some of the best practical stunt work we’ve seen on this show yet. We didn’t actually land a plane on a highway (land a what on a what?! you'll see) but we didn’t have to, because our VFX team came up huge in a timeframe that is basically asking the impossible. All of our actors turned in stellar performances (for further examples see Smith hold her own with Richard Roundtree; John Briddell as the stern yet caring ‘Dr. Yost’; and Rick Hoffman being, well, Rick Hoffman) but especially the ones we were saying goodbye to, which made their departures all that much more difficult.

Isn’t there some old saying, about how the things in life that are the most difficult end up being the most rewarding? I’d say that sums up this episode for me. Made me proud to be part of this show, to see what it’s capable of. And I think you’ll understand what I mean when you watch it.

Best episode Yet. Loved it!

I actually really liked this episode, everything tied up nicely and nothing stood out wierd or got left behind. Kudos on that! Except my life is going to suck for a week waitin for the next episode!

I thought it was a great episode, and was nicely done!

Fantastic episode. That was the best turbo boost yet, you guys finally found the perfect mix between new CGI and old fashioned vehicle jumping.

The chemistry between sarah and mike was perfect, and they have both fallen comfortably into their respective jobs without the crossover.

Best of all was KITT, he should a continually evolving personality that I really enjoyed. It was very touching when he said his father was dead.

The only thing I didn't like was that they never mentioned how Carrie survived the blast, and I was hoping they would get rid of Dr. Graiman in a way that they could bring him back later if they wanted.

Terrific episode can't wait to see KARR

Totally loved this episode. I will miss Charles Graiman, but the end where Kitt tells Sarah "Sarah, our father is dead." was heartbreaking and moving. My hat off to the writers, cast and director. Beautiful! You had me laughing, cheering and crying all within an hour. Please, NBC, give us a 2nd season!!

I wish Dr. Graiman had a situation where he had the possibility of returning too, but somehow I knew one of the two characters was not going to make it. :(

The last scene was well done, where Sarah's knees begin to give out from under her as Mike holds her. She does not burst in tears immediately as the reality of the situation sinks in; only slowly, do the emotions begin to manifest.

KITT calling Dr. Graiman "father" added a very sentimental and honest moment.

Action-wise, I enjoyed the chase involving the motorcycle (turbo boost!!) and Sarah helping out Mike as she sneaks up from behind.

I see KARR coming…!

Amazing episode. Keep on the good work :)

KR writers:

I ask you to please read this article on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_sue

And as you read, please notice a few things. Specifically these.

1: the "Mary Sue" is regarded as being a poorly developed character, one who is too perfect and lacking in three-dimensionality to be accepted as realistic or interesting.

2: The good luck may involve romance ("Mary Sue" always gets her man); adventure ("Mary Sue" always wins a fight or knows how to solve the puzzle); and popularity (the "right people" seem to gravitate towards the character).

3: A "canon Sue" may also refer to a character whose canon portrayal itself is seen as a "Mary Sue", rather than a character who has been altered in fan fiction. Typically, this refers to a character accused of being overly idealized or having other traits traditionally associated with fan fiction "Mary Sues", such as being "special" by having a gratuitously tragic past, unrealistic skills, or a seeming inability for the character to do wrong. Examples include Wesley Crusher and Amanda Rogers in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Sarah Graiman now has two tragically deceased parents, is exceptionally beautiful, knows everyone who needs to be known (such as the writer of the nanovirus), is loved by supposedly everyone (the writer of the nanovirus, Mike, Billy), and has no apparent faults.

Please fix it.

The word I use to describe this episode is "ridiculous" and I mean that in the best possible way.

Those first 30 minutes were absurd. Just one more crisis on top of another. And that's what Knight Rider SHOULD be. If your basic premise is that you have a talking car, you just have to go all out with over-the-top excitement. That's what we saw here. And yet, in the same episode, we probably had the best dramatic moments of the series so far- the hospital scenes were nicely done.

The devil is in the details: loved the floating phone when the plane was going down. Really nice touch.

I think this episode was strong for many things. I feel the timing was much better, the heart was there, and the action was well balanced.

While I don't agree with a hero having to use a gun to save the day willingly killing random bad guys in the name of justice with not so much as a second glance...I can understand that Mike Traceur has some well honed military instincts that his father seemed to block out.

I liked the fact he used a silencer as well.

With KITT's "Stealth" mode, I didn't really understand the point of it? I mean even if it was because he turned off all his lights, people would still see his scanner light.

Also just a note for future "mode" references, I believe since you have an "attack" mode, you might get more milage out of using the juxtaposition of the term "hero mode" for KITT's "normal" appearance.

I agree with most people that Charles's death much like KITT firing missiles to blow up Ryan Arrow's cabin was something that should have been shown in more detail to really push the emotional connection.

You can't expect expository dialogue alone to carry the message.

There is an old saying, "Show it, don't speak it."

I didn't connect with KITT killing off Arrow in Knight Fever because we didn't visually see KITT choosing to do so and I felt the same way with this situation.

Because we didn't actually see Charles die or see ground approaching through the windshield or whatever, I really felt very unattached to the moment the news of his death was given.

A flashing light isn't enough to really sell that Charles is actually dead.

Given the importance of Charles's character to the show, it seemed that dying to land a simple plane which could have been easily replaced by Knight Industries was pretty pointless and cheap.

He didn't die doing anything heroic because let's face it, the smart alec pilot did all the flying. Perhaps you implied Charles was co-piloting the plane but why?

I know Charles chose to help out but honestly to save a plane? With all the advanced tech in the world, they don't have an auto pilot on that thing?

Ravai being forced to quit the job was utterly predictable and I never really bought the legitamacy of her character nor her skills as an FBI agent. All that aside for what limited character development she did have, at least you gave her a proper send off.

Kudos for giving her an injury she can't just bounce back from.

Zoe I still could live without but I will give her credit for finally not cracking jokes in a serious heartfelt moment, ditching the sexual dumb-blonde routine for something more condusive to the situation.

I like the touch with KITT saying, "our father is dead" but I still felt like without the emotional inflection...it was just kind of flatly delivered.

William Daniels's inflection of the original KITT remains vastly more convincing to me.

His delivery of KITT made you believe that the original K2000 was more than just a AI or a hot car to fight crime with.

Having inflection is important to believability and I think this concept of KITT learning as he goes along is still hurting the believability that this KITT is more than the sum of his parts.

I think clearly Deanna Russo's reaction to the news and her tearful delivery sold the scene better than anything else.

The turbo boost still has a lot to go before it really convinces me that CGI can be as good or better than a practical stunt but I will give MKF credit for contining to try and add more aspects to it to make it believable.

For me the cut away from the car was once again a cheat.

I realize KITT was leaping over the truck with the dirt but if that's the case are we to believe that the whole time the cop on the bike is wiping out, KITT's still suspended in the air?

One plus I would like to say though, thanks for losing that rediculous KR billboard on the bottom of the car!

I liked that this episode had more action to it and the Attack KITT crashing through the garage door was at least somewhat more convincing to KITT's alleged near invulberability.

I do however have to address that I disliked the fact we still don't see bullets do anything to the car, and the sound effects of the richochette just didn't cut it for me.

This thug was firing point blank and there was yet again no interaction with the car.

It's like the countless other times you see the heavies appear to just be firing blanks.

You need to SHOW KITT is invulnerable or at least attempt to show the nanotech work like it did in the backdoor pilot.

To your credit, the way you handled the technology in the backdoor pilot was infinately more believable than how it is being handled now with the "Transformer" angle and the "Star Trek" like nano-shields.

Congrats David Andron, this was clearly one of the better episodes you have written thus far.

Kudos to the editors for making this episode easier to follow visually than other bullet-time, flash cut episodes before.

All in all I would rate this episode the best of the series thus far so if the team can keep up this kind of pace and visual excitement (more than one "big stunt" per episode) this series has hope of survivial yet.

Kudos for showing more of the car doing things in this episode than any other before it.

KITT's parachute was a nice nod to the original series even if it was unrealistic in how it was deployed and the silky smooth landing but I am relived he didn't turn into some flying glider.

For all the things I could fault with this particular episode one thing I will say above all else is that this episode was genuinely both entertaining and enjoyable.

Unlike previous episodes, I feel these two episodes have the rewatch value this series desperately needs.

I'm still not sold on the series as being a convincing continuation of the original but I will at least give it another shot to prove that this reboot can work and bring this show to a level it needs to be in order to earn a second season and more importantly earn my support for it.

=VK=

I posted the above, just forgot to fill out my name.

=VK=

amazing nbc please give us a second season

Now thats knight rider I dont know what they were thinking before. GREAT JOB NBC:) Take your own advice if you wana have a hit show which it will be DONT STOP THE KNIGHT;)

Terrific episode can't wait to see KARR now im hooked

Great Episode, very touching and plent of action! I can't wait for KARR next week and I hope you can tie somethingin to the original show. Hopefully you guys are qorking hard on bringing KI2 & DH for a nice multiple story arc and finally see KI2T meet KI3T, how cool would that be?

Oh BTW almost forgot PLEASE NBC GIVE US A SECOND SEASON! I want Knight Rider to stay on and hopefully not be cancelled!

loved this episode. I will miss Charles Graiman

There were a few tech flaws (like the bad splicing of the scene where KITT turbo boosts over the dirt truck (and you can see the police bike coming around a car) but then the cutback to the police bike coming from a different angle around the car before he wipes out). Anyway, that's more for the VFX guys.

The writing was much better. I actually felt my heart pounding while they were trying to avoid the bridge. That feeling is a first this season, and I congratulate you. This episode was excellent. I do have some hopefully constructive criticism however...

Although a few people suggested that the Agent Ravai hospital scenes were very good drama, I thought they were rather empty and overdone. We didn't need to hear about her father's opposition to her joining the FBI and the KR project. Also, it would have been more plausible for her to die from her injuries (it doesn't help the story any to keep her around, unless there are plans to bring her back someday). Zoe's report to the ER doctor upon arrival to the hosptial was silly. There were paramedics pushing the stretcher, and Zoe is NOT a paramedic. In fact, Torres's even sending HER there was rather odd.

But Charles Graiman's death was very disappointing. It seems that many people that have posted here haven't noticed that when that alarm and random unmarked blinking light went off, "Gus" the pilot (Admiral Chedwidden from JAG) says "Sorry Doc" - implying that something else was amiss. Mike tells Sarah that "when they were coming in for the landing, there was an explosion..." Sounds like something other than a crash - a bomb, or some sort of explosive. That ruined it the scene for me. You could have just had the plane crash and explode on landing, killing "Gus" and Charles. But to kill him off in such a strange way makes the writing appear shoddy, even when it is not. Key elements like this can ruin the emotional feelings the viewer (who has gotten to know Charles going back as far as the backdoor pilot and has the only connection to the original KITT (2K)) must experience. For the plane to mysteriously explode before ever touching the ground is a rip-off.

For such an important episode to the future of this show and its fans, I would have hoped that at the very least the Dr. Graiman departure could have been done better. I'll give you a pass on the Ravai stuff above.

First of all I want you to congratulate on such an amazing episode. However, I didn’t like the fact that Dr. G’s death wasn’t shown and that Gus said:”sorry Doc” before cutting the scene. Even though Mike seems to show trust in Gus, and thinking he will land the plane, it makes me think that Gus is a traitor and he is the one responsible for Dr. G’s death.
Also on the scene where Sarah is holding the trigger it seems that her hand position is being switched every time the angle is being switched, one time in the middle and the other time way on top.
The real time Turbo Boost lift-off was a success to me and satisfied me. I am sure other fans will agree with me when I say this is a great start to a complete Turbo Boost from start to finish.
The plane scene with the bridge definitely kept me on the edge of my seat and was acted out very good. KITT was right when he calculated the 100% chance of collision, but he never said that it wasn’t going to be catastrophic. You definitely had me there.
Thanks again for the great episode and please NBC, keep Knight Rider for a second season.
~BR90~

I just needed to post and say how much I liked last week's episode. This week's wasn't as good, but it showed much improvement.
To NBC, I know the ratings haven't been strong, but please give Knight Rider a second season. Yes, there is room for improvement, I recognize that, but I also want a second season. There isn't anyting else like it on TV and I look forward to seeing this each week.

Unless the show is getting better everyweek... Somehow this two parter felt like the Davilex Knight Rider Video Game. Jump, chase & run... If this is part of the KARR story arc this is really annoying because it seem just to copy the davilex game mixed up with transformers. Knight Rider is able to bring it up from the level of Videogame mentality. Richard'Shaft'Roundtree hadn't much to do but his performance helped KR in some way...another class of television. The death of Graiman was really anticlimactic. As inventor of KARR it would have been much better to bring them together again...

Late again, bad me! Well, better late than never, especially if I come bearing more praise than criticism? Long comment is LONG.

Okay, this was a really solid episode, and I did enjoy myself! I can't say it was as good as last week's, but maybe you guys should've made Mr. Wright clean up his own messes. *grins* You still had me along for the conclusion of the plot, and I'm still delighted that there was no Bikini of the Week moment.

Things I liked, and there are many:

First of all, I caught this time that Olara was working in central Africa, and so I must rescind my comment from last week about being irked that she was a Generic African ambassador. I do get not wanting to paint any one country in an unflattering light, so a region is enough. (Even if I still think a country should've been named given that a civil war was mentioned. Seriously, this kind of thing in popular culture is why I encounter people who think Africa is one big country and there are only two countries in Asia; China and Japan. [/pet peeve minirant])

Carrie didn't die. It's not that I was pulling for her to live (sadly, I'm just not that attached to most of the cast), but I really liked how her exit was written. It was graceful, and it was beautifully acted.

Gus. I LIKED Gus. He was awesome. I'm gonna miss him. I wanted to keep him.

Olara's "Who is your mother?" line was beautiful. It sounded like something that someone who has English as a secondary language would say, and it was just a really great line. I may use that line in real life if I ever have the opportunity.

Mike showing just exactly how messed-up his lost past has made him, without a beat between shooting half a dozen people and hugging Olara.

I admit it, I snorked (is so a word) when Sarah called Mike a douche-nozzle.

I like it when Mike calls Kitt 'supercar.' It sounds more natural than 'buddy' or 'partner,' which sound just a little forced coming out of Justin Breuning's mouth. Don't get me wrong, the callbacks to the original are cute, but I like Mike coming up with his own pet name, too.

"Our father is dead." And considering Charles filled in as paternal figure for Mike, too, in my head Kitt's 'our' meant all three of them, not just him and Sarah. No one will ever convince me this is not so. I reject your reality and substitute my own.

I liked the 'secretly in love with me' line, too.

Sarah coming up from behind and grabbing the deadman switch was pretty frickin' sweet.

I agree, best turbo-boost ever, and easily the best chase scene, too-- that was pretty awesome. I also liked Kitt's Barricade costume. (I've given up, in some ways-- y'all are apparently big Transformers Movie fans, so I'm just gonna roll with it.)

I very much appreciated that Carrie was both a little smudged and lacking lipstick while in the hospital, and that Zoe spent most of the episode with either soot or dirt on her face and shoulder. I know it's a little thing, but it struck me the right way-- in a couple of right ways, honestly.

Kitt was really very good in this episode. I've enjoyed watching him develop since the pilot, and it's always nice to see him take a few more steps.

I liked that Carrie's father did not support her decision to do field work. I mean, okay, ideally your parents should support your choice of career, but considering her father knows the work and knows that it could have led to a much worse day in the hospital... yeah. From him, I bought it. From his performance, I bought it.

No plot holes! I might not have liked where every subplot went, but none of them had big gaping holes in them.

KARR and that is capslocked for emphasis, not for acronym! Holy crap, dude, if the sidestep and the curtain-parting hadn't won me over, the line would've. It almost sounds like Peter Cullen is playing Megatron here, that is so awesome. I am so glad you guys got him back for the part (particularly considering Paul Frees is a little bit hard to cast due to being dead). Dang, man, I am looking forward to seeing Karr again. At this point, he could spend the episode doing The Chicken Dance and as long as he delivered a couple of spectacularly growly lines, I'd still be bouncing up and down in my chair.

Things I liked a lot but had a minor problem with:

Stevens was so awesome. I'm a little sad he's dead, really, but not all THAT sad. He's too awesome not to stop somehow. But he did take a slight turn for the stupid this week-- "You want bin Laden dead? Just punch in the coordinates" and he totally didn't notice that whole thing where nobody knows where Osama bin Laden is, or whether he's even still alive, and hasn't known since 2001? Kinda hard to punch in the coordinates when you don't have them, fella. I mean, YES, I understood that Stevens was a little nuts, but until that point I also understood that he was brilliant and observant.

I appreciate that Knight Rider is not a medical drama, and I'm coming at this as the grown daughter of two nurses, but hospitals do not work that way. Zoe had no place handing out medical information when they brought Carrie in, that's a paramedic's job, and the answer to "Can I see her?" is never "Take your time," but is almost always (when the damage is that severe), "Just for a few minutes." "Take your time" had me pretty well convinced the doctor expected Carrie to die, like, right then. On the other hand, I watched this episode with Mom and she could read your monitors when Carrie crashed, and didn't point out any glaring problems with the overall setup. Since Mom is currently doing post-surgical nursing and sees post-surge setups every shift, that's pretty darn good!

The thing with the plane and the GPS and following the highway worked for me, although considering the hafnium's potential blast radius was thirty miles and the proper altitude to detonate safely was measured in feet (even if it was five thousand of them), one of the two scientists on that plane should've gone 'hey wait a minute' about Kitt's plan a little sooner. Kitt's plan in and of itself, however, was AWESOME.

I liked that Graiman's death was handled quietly and off-screen. It... seemed to fit, somehow. I did not like that nobody told me what the red light meant. I saw a blinky red light and then, apparently, Hank, Gus, and Chuck are dead. It didn't quite seem like enough INFORMATION, let alone enough closure.

Something is really not quite right when you introduce a new character just for one episode-- in this case, that's Gus-- and even though his last name might as well have been Redshirt, I got more emotionally invested in him than I've managed for Carrie, Zoe, and Charles combined since day one. Great job on Gus, but dang, man, I should care more about the regulars. (And I qualify this by saying my enthusiastic distrust of Torres and my deep dislike of Sarah still count as an emotional investment. I might not be rooting for them, but they still provoke a reaction.)

And finally, the part where the constructive criticism gets critical:

While nobody did it for very long, we had the smart people acting stupid again this week. The missed detail about the blast radius, the 'something money can't buy' thing taking so long to figure out-- I mean, okay, there are lots of things money can't buy, but considering a GIANT BOMB isn't going to get you love, happiness, or home-grown tomatoes but COULD dish up a heaping helping of revenge (best served radioactive-hot), it made me go "YOU GUYS COME ON!" at the screen a little. (I do that a lot in general, but I didn't do it at all last week.) I understand why it happens as a storytelling device, but it irks me no end to see the people with the experience and expertise and giant brains miss these incredibly obvious things. It should be a big deal when they miss something, and not what happens five or six times every week. (On the other hand, no plot holes. No one moment where they could have fixed everything just by acting like rational people, as there has regularly been in the past-- just things that could have happened slightly faster.)

Mike did a LOT of touching in this episode. Some of it seemed okay-- Olara initiated that hug, and when he gave Sarah the news about Charles it was entirely appropriate, but he hugged Sarah a lot when he got on board the plane and there was an awful lot of hand-holding. It just... it seems out of character, for Mike. In the previous ten episodes plus the pilot, he's really just not given to excessive touching, not even to Sarah (and whatever I think of their romantic potential, he HAS known her all his life), and particularly not to excessive hugging. I mean, in previous episodes it's been treated as a significant moment when he just holds her hand for a second. It felt off to see him initiating so much contact this week.

Dude, you guys killed Hank! Okay, okay, that's not what bothers me. I can explain. We have Kitt, we have Katie, we have Lisa, and we've just added Hank. Hank clearly shows some character, he's appealing, he's understandable, he even has a 'face.' ... And now he's dead. This is Knight Rider, here, it's a show about a robot car. We are here for the robot car. We like the other robots, too. Anyone remember the 1986 Transformers movie, the animated one, and how suddenly these robots who'd been at war for millions of years could suddenly shoot straight and the robot body count mounted up? And Optimus Prime died, and a million six-to-twelve-year-olds cried out in anguish, and HasTak was baffled because hey come on, they were only robots? Yeah. Your audience is tuning in for the robot stuff. Hank dying is not on a par with Optimus dying, but on a show where the robots are people, it's not fair to introduce a new robot character just to kill them off. On top of that, the plotline dead-ended, which was really frustrating. Hank turned out to be insignificant; his big moment could have been played by a stout hook and a quick zip from Kitt's laser. It would have been tragic and heartrending for, say, Gus to parachute out of the plane and Charles have been about to follow and instead have Hank, who just wanted Charles's attention back, who wanted not to be alone anymore, grab hold of Charles and prevent him from leaving. Or for Hank to have somehow gotten tangled in the strap attached to the bomb and opted to detach himself from the plane in order to save Charles, going out a hero. I should just be glad he didn't get forgotten after Don't Stop, but after last week's positively stellar episode, I had hoped for more.

No, Sarah, it is not hot that Mike just killed someone without even having to look. Badass, yes, hot, no. Killing people is not sexy, even when it is necessary. So THAT was a big moment of 'ew' for me.

It really showed that this episode had a different writer and director from the previous episode. Not that Mr. Andron didn't do a good job, but there was a definite shift, and I really don't think that's a good thing-- particularly for a two-part episode, which shouldn't feel like two episodes but one really long one. The seams showed. (I also wonder about the fact that we've seen eleven episodes and had nine different directors, at least according to Wikipedia.)

Seriously, nobody made a Speed joke? SOMEBODY needed to make the Speed joke! I mean, we've all seen or heard of the plot of Speed. You have to make the joke.

The 'knight' puns in the titles have passed the point of tiresome and are into the ridiculous. If you guys end up with a second season (and I hope you do!), either cut way, way back on the puns or actually make sure they have something to do with the episode somehow. And one throwaway line ("Code phrase 'Shining Armor,'" "Now the hunt starts," et cetera, quotations approximate) does not count as having something to do with the episode. I realize nobody likes it when the new series is compared to the old, but just by the numbers here, as I look at my DVD sets-- there were 84 titled episodes of the original Knight Rider. Thirty-one of them had Knight/Night puns in the title. Okay, it's a lot, but it's less than half-- and significantly less than ALL OF THEM. They do not all have to be puns. I mean, the BEST reaction to even a good pun is a groan, after all.

In conclusion:

Very good, very strong episode. Still felt like Knight Rider, didn't have me tearing at my hair (not even when Hank turned out to be a plot dead-end), and really, the list pretty much shows it-- I might've been shorter in describing what I liked and why than in what I didn't like and why, but there are a LOT MORE things I liked than things I didn't.

It was a really good episode, and I genuinely enjoyed watching it-- it just didn't quite live up to Don't Stop.

I know you wanted Zoe something to do... but this was total unbelievable and bad written in parts. After Mike said he is thinking that carrie is down Torres ordered Zoe to the warehouse to find out what happened to carrie and her team.
WHAT? Zoe? Who is she? Thought Zoe's job is to show her computer & linguistic skills. Even if she is proven in the field as well (Knight Of The Iguana) wouldn't it have been more professional by Torres to send other fbi agents or an ambulance unit.
Think about!

And the chase... thrilling, but...we've seen that KITT is able to tranform (in an unbelievable way) into a believable police car (Knight of the hunter)...so why 'attack mode' with siren wailing and blue light flashing...? That is way too inconsistent among other episodes.
Don't forget the turbo boost. Nice landing...but a freaking NASA blow up.

At least it was very entertaining:) Rick Hoffman's part was very well written (Keep it up!) and he did a good job to fill up the character.

God bless, we are rid of the plane:) Long live the Semi!

Well that was a refreshing change! It actually felt like you (the shows creaters) actually started to believe you have a show going on here! This two parter was (in comparison to what has gone before) the best yet and is clearly the benchmark from where the show must develop. Please let us have a second series and please let us have it in the UK!!!!

Is there a name for the instrumental song when Mike and Sarah embrace? If so, what is the name and who is the artist?

I am devastated that you killed off Dr Graymon. Can you bring him back in a few episodes and say he had time to parachute out of the plane before it crashed and was lost for a few weeks?

The show was great if i was to pick one or two spots that where bad would be the jump on carr when the human was in carr sorry to say when kitt jumped dead centre the human should have been dead then and not after the fact!! one more thing that kitt should and have is files of the other kitt car I know the new kitt just learning things but how come he don't know what that Kitt did! where the heck was night industries It a big company and there should have been some one else to deal with there stuff? One thing I would just like to see is the oil slick why don't the wrighters think or use the brain to make it happen the green way like some type of bio black ice when after so much time it turn's to steam or vaper water. How about the idea of using or buy passing the use of a on star in a car !! kitt was a system that can hack things too. where the use of rf or maybe the other things in everyday world like blue tooth devices that kitt can hack. why just why don't they have one big flipping screen then all them small crap screens dam war games had them in there movie star trek had big screens for there viewer??? just an idea!!
but then again its not star trek.. I don't know why people compare this show to star trek its not the same in any what way!!!
I wounder if the next show will have a different look then some air plan hanger???

Hi Dave,
I haven't been writing as much lately since you guys took a hiatus, but you definitely came back strong! When I heard about the reboot, I was a little worried that it may not go over as well as some other's shows, but congratulations! You've done it (in my humble opinion). I have also read some of the comments that have been left here and most have been positive; although some still have this idea that certain opinions are worth more than others, but I digress... Having watched the two-parter and the one for Wednesday January 21st, I am thankful that you did the changes. You have successfully incorporated what happened to Mike and the removal of the extras so that it made sense. The episode "Knight to King's Pawn" was amazing and I couldn't help but squeal at the introduction of the old stunts and abilities that the original KITT used to have....ski-mode to mention one! I wasn't sure how you were going to incorporate KARR, but even that was perfect.
See everyone, they made him a CAR!!!!
The fact that you brought back Peter Cullen for the voice (Optimus Prime is still my favorite voice for him) just makes it that much more perfect. Heck, you even told what happened FLAG and let THEM decide what to do next!

Just as Wilton Knight wanted for his program (and making Sarah a multi-millionaire didn't hurt!)

I am so excited about the new direction of the show and the little things that you have done to transform the show back into something that the general public can get behind is an extraordinary feat initself. I applaud you and the writers of the show for the dedication and drive that you are showing week after week to provide us with a glimpse of what the future holds for KITT and Michael Knight. And by the way, real slick on how you down played Mike and Sarah sleeping together! It was just one of those things and the next day back to business. There was a relationship reference, but it did not monopolize the show, again congratulations! I am one of those people (from your home town) that attach to certain shows and try to cling to the potential that it has. Unfortunately, most of those have failed due to obvious circumstances. Shows that if given half a chance could have gone a further distance than the networks had given them and this is definitely one show that deserves that chance and has given proof as to why. To not give this one a chance would kill a lot of belief that the networks pay attention to what the REAL audience may want.
Finally, I just want to add that as far as our opinions and ideas are concerned, please continue to use what is viable and ignore the rest. You guys are the ones that create and write the ideas; we just give you feedback and whether it's good or bad, that is exactly what it is...our opinions. There isn't a one of us alone that can interpret what will work and what won't work on this show and there isn't just one voice that should be heard above all others, regardless of what we as viewers may think. Continue the great work!
