KNIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD

Above: Kitt's Halloween Costume

GST wanted me to tell you a couple things about tonight's episode, "Knight of the Living Dead." First up, that it was supposed to air last week, but we were preempted for President-Elect Obama.

That meant our Halloween episode had to air after Halloween. But it was also supposed to air last week for another, very important reason. You might've noticed Kitt's flashy costume -- a convertible with pink rocker tape striping, pink stitching, and this familiar pink ribbon:

warriors-in-pink-emblem.jpg

The special Mustang Logo

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Ford and Knight Rider partnered to make Kitt one of their "Warriors in Pink" for this very special cause. This limited edition Warriors in Pink Mustang is for sale at many dealerships across the country, and proceeds from the sale of each one are donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. You can find out more about this project and other Warriors in Pink at this website:

http://www.fordvehicles.com/warriorsinpink

And secondly, GST wanted me to tell you about KARR... But he didn't want me to say too much, because there's still a lot to be learned about him on the show. Hopefully, though, you were paying attention when Sarah entered her father's passphrase into the computer.

Thursday afternoon, some more content will be available at KnightIndustriesResearch.com. You'll still need to know who Devon and Bonnie are to log in, but to see this extra content, you'll need an additional passcode. Is this new passcode exactly what Sarah used on the show? That would be too easy... But the letters are all there.

And I'll give you one more hint: the screen cuts away before she finishes entering in her father's entire passphrase. So you're going to need to figure out the rest of the second word in order to solve the anagram.... Good luck!

Keep watching for passwords on the show, by the way, because every time we reveal one, that means we've unlocked even more content on the site.

great show. imissed password.i will watch again saturday night .

If it's what I think it is, then minus one point for proper spelling. >_>

I totally missed out on that, did not know that part...I do not have cable, so this was the first time I got to see an episode as it aired. What is freaky though, I was talking to my friend that I was watching it with about KARR, and BAM! They mentioned KARR soonafter. Freaky!!

Not serious about that really, just my inner grammar/spelling whore. =P

Since when is K.A.R.R. a friggin knock off of a T-1 prototype from Terminator 3? (Or a Hunter Killer Tank from Terminator 1 & 2) I mean seriously words cannot describe how disappointed this has made me as a fan, you didn't bother to recognize that even if K.A.R.R.'s CPU was placed into some other exoskeleton whatever (then decommisioned? again? like they didn't learn the FIRST TIME how dangerous he was? If he's still active why did he wait 26 years to do ANYTHING? The plot holes are big enough to drive Optimus Prime through)...that he originated from a friggin Trans Am...twice.

"Knight Automated Roving Robot", that's what K.A.R.R. stands for not this crappy new age "Knight Auto Cyborgnetic Roving Robotic Exoskeleton." Is "exoskeleton" the new code name for "Trans Am" then? A exoskeleton is not a CPU, it's a bodily structure therefore K.A.R.R.'s original "exoskeleton" was a TRANS AM. He's not K.A.R.R. he's now K.A.R.R.E. the homocidal cyborg thingamajig!

If you wanted to convey that K.A.R.R. has assumed other forms over the years that have passed you should have started the images with the TRANS AM, NOT the Mustang. If this is some other "K.A.R.R." and not related to the original series "K.A.R.R." then that's just being, "creatively bankrupt."

I thought you respected the original mythology, but apparently all you're out to do thus far is corrupt it. I sincerly hope you're building to something memorable and worthwhile with episode 13 because it's a real dealbreaker for fanse new and old. Best of luck because at this point you're going to need it.

=VK=

Also some advice...

IF said K.A.R.R. is supposed to be the original CPU from K.I.T.T. vs. K.A.R.R. there's already a serious faux pas

According to Webster's Dictionary the defination of "cyborg" is as follows

Main Entry: cy·borg
Pronunciation: \ˈsī-ˌbȯrg\
Function: noun
Etymology: cybernetic + organism
Date: 1960
: a bionic human

See that? ORGANISM, HUMAN...things K.A.R.R. was not. He wasn't a neural net, he didn't have anything organic bonded to him or his "body". Therefore referring to K.A.R.R. as "cyborgnetic" is not logistically possible.

Robocop is a Cyborg, Kaine that Robo fought in Robocop II was a cyborg, Jean Claude Van Damn was a cyborg, The Terminator was a cyborg...notice however that the T-1000 was not a cyborg, it was just a shape shifting Terminator and why? Because it couldn't bleed...it had no natural bodily fluids, no organics.

"a mimetic polyalloy", essentially liquid metal, allowing it to emulate almost anyone or anything of equal size. While it can emulate the look of blood and sweat it can't produce it like the T-800 could.

Next time you decide to mess with acrynoms (short of being a different "KARR" then TOS) it's always wise to do your research before using words out of context.

Hey GST, Cast, & Crew!

Excellent Episode last night! Really had me on the edge and I loved every second of it.

Now to get right to the point and I hope you guys can answer this question for me and all other fans out there because some people got upset but I just want clarification, here goes:

KARR was destroyed in the last episode KITT vs KARR in TOS. His CPU is still intact and can be brought into this show. You guys have 25 years to fill up and his CPU is necessary to bring back to this new KARR.

Now is this new KARR a totally new prototype that was created before the KI3T and you guys happen to call him KARR again or is this the original KARR and you guys put his CPU into this thing and made him a type of army/government fighting cyborg thing.

I hope for the mythology’s sake that you guys will at least use the original CPU because it will be critical to endure that and make it better for episodes down the line.

BTW please have some more mythology in this show, I am really looking forward to it PLEASE!

Thanks & Good Luck!

Joe

CAREFUL using Karr-- he's got a lot of fans, and it will be VERY easy to screw this up! (It's the wording-- I think we're all perfectly capable of accepting that Charles worked on Karr instead of the first Kitt (considering the four IMPORTANT scientists who built Kitt are Barstow, Breeland, Von Voorman, and Yamata, and anyone who worked on Karr would probably be shuffled quietly off to an odd corner of Knight Industries), and considering Karr's CPU survived, we're no doubt quite happy to picture him in another body... But 'cyborg' and 'exoskeleton' kind of completely don't belong. Heck, I'm even willing to buy Karr as Ki3t's original prototype-- technically, he is.)

I'm cautiously optimistic, as usual... but then I've finally accepted that the new Knight Rider universe operates on Comic Book Science, not anything resembling the laws of physics in the real world. *grins*

Huge positives in this episode: Everyone had something to do, which is total win (and proves it CAN be done, so please stop having extraneous characters around just to provide exposition or sit there and look cute!), the blatant fanservice was limited to Zoe's Halloween costume, which wasn't THAT revealing, Sarah's hair looked great, and on top of that, someone finally toned down her eyeliner and got her to stop squinting, which makes me happy to no end-- she's pretty again! Kitt needs a hug, I swear, but you finally made me WANT to hug him. Bravo on his development, I actually believed he was scared. And angry and hurt and betrayed and willing to depend on Mike. Win all OVER Kitt. Is it just me, or is his voice raising in pitch as the season goes on? He started out as a low baritone, but lately seems to be approaching a tenor. Interesting, that. Also, win on the use of a doppelganger-- the original series was absolutely rife with them, from Karr to Garthe to the people deliberately impersonating Klaus Bergstrom, Devon Miles, and Bonnie Barstow. Loved that. Don't want to see it overused, but loved it here.

Honestly, I was hoping Zoe would die in this episode (unlike a friend of mine, who was hoping SARAH would die; many of us are getting sick of the constant 'will they or won't they') just to thin out the cast a little bit; much as I love Zoe and believe she does very important things in an in-universe sense, from a dramatic perspective she's got a terrible tendency to be useless. But she DID THINGS this week, everyone did things that nobody else could have done, and they ALL did them, and this was going to be the paragraph where I mention the things that bothered me but it turned into another round of "YAY, no one was Mister Exposition this week!"

Okay, no, really, constructive criticism goes here now. The comic book science turns me off, but I accept the Reed Richards junk as a part of the universe and recite the Mystery Science Theatre 3,000 mantra: It's just a show, sit back and relax. On the other hand, it sure took Charles a LONG time to think 'hey, I bet if I scan Carrie's handprint, it will either exonerate or condemn her for sure!' I love the continuity with the original series, I really do, but please stop throwing continuity curveballs at us; if I have to go, "Well, maybe Karr got put back together because after the Foundation was disbanded and Jennifer Knight took over and Michael retired with Ki2t, they wanted an AI, and they had his CPU..." Viewers shouldn't have to start composing fanfiction just to make the logic line up. Not that I MIND writing fanfiction, but I shouldn't have to to figure out how Karr ended up as a Decepticon. Er. And that's another actual complaint. It is REALLY time to put the Transformers DVD away. Visually, the TF style is very distinctive, and the sliding-panels effect, while cool, tends to make me think I'm watching a cheap knockoff. I admit, I'm almost used to it on Kitt, but seeing the movie-Transformers influence on Karr hammered it home. I DO realize that if all the CGI models are planned out (and possibly puppets built) that there's nothing that can really be done... it's just something I've needed to get off my chest, and what better time now that I've figured out how to make these comments work? Because, see, aside from the whole Transform and Roll Out! issue, I'm almost out of things to complain about in this episode. Poison does not work as fast or as pretty as it did on Fake Zoe. There. Now I'm all out of complaints.

Now I can go back to sheer glee that Mike and I share a favorite holiday and all eight leads were in a single episode and nobody seemed completely redundant.

Well, Long Comment is Long and I've got some anagrams to get back to. Here's hoping this goes through!

I wanted to state one more thing for the writers and especially GST that I forgot to write before,

How come on the cargo plane Mike & Sarah stated “KITT, we thought you were one of a kind”, then KITT agreed and went on to talk about KARR.

Now I have a big question for you guys, why didn’t you mention the KI2T because KI3T IS NOT one of a kind! I hope this will be addressed and that the 25 years will be explained because it will be very upsetting to just pick up and not explain anything, please make it happen!

Thanks!

Joe

I think it's pretty clear by now that this KI3T doesn't share any DNA with the original KI2T, and that they are probably saving whatever fate came of the KI2T for future episode (or even a future season). This KITT was a restart, made from scratch, so I'm going to assume that this KARR was too... which is why the Acronym for both of them is different than the acronyms used 20 years ago.

Did any one see the password I missed it due to my tv it has problems. Did any see it I wont get the chance to see it again for a while due to were I live

I have only seen like 22 seconds of the episode and already was laughing out loud! I loved the Captain Jack Harkness costume. AWESOME. So you DO know your audience. LOL

Hello, I am a Fan of my set Knight Rider since 1986.
As seeing has this day the new version, that that said to be the continuation, I am immensely over the audiance is to the lowest, following the script that doesn't take the thread of the set original to make evolve mildly him. More one advances in the episodes more it resembles has everything safe has the Knight Rider. Was the pilot episode imposing why not to have remained on this basis?
In 6 episodes you succeeded in destroying a myth of more than 25 years, congratulation the producers!
For the true fans Knight Rider is not and will be never a set has the Transformers!
As said Wilton Knight, only one man can change everything, one says thank you that, thank you Garry!
Then to see KARR in robot, you know the set original indeed, I don't think...
It is indeed scandalous...

Just so you know Gary Scott Thompson did not mention Wilton Knight, GST had nothing to do with the backdoor pilot, David Andron wrote it with a different director and different producers. I believe it was Dave Bartis and Doug Liamon.

Honestly for all the faults in his script, I think to some degree egos aside David Andron "gets it" far more then GST has shown thus far.

=VK=

I am still dabating on if I like the show or not, but I do watch it everyweek.... K.I.T.T. transforming from car to super car to truck is over the top and transformer like. I liked last nights episode, but either a network problem or my direct TV was acting goofy, but I did not hear ANYTHING that was said by any of the characters OTHER than KITT for the last 15 minutes of the show! I saw what looked like them mouthing the words to each other. With the exception of that, the show is cool, but definately not like the original.

This episode proved to me once and for all that this show is a Re-imagining, and NOT in ANY WAY shape OR FORM, a continuation. So, I wish the producers and writers would give fans of the original series the respect we deserve and just say so.

This is for all the complainers and fans of the original show. ENOUGH ALREADY if you were a fan of the original show you must be in your late 30's and early 40's, this show is geared for people between 16 and early 30's. and if at your age you have nothing better to do all day then complain about a T.V. show!!!

I do hope there is a solid connection between KARR from the original show and this new KARR. Some government agency collected his bits and pieces on the beach and used him in a few AI projects here and there until he got completely out of control? Could be interesting.

No, you Anonymous ignoramous, a large portion or most of us are in are mid to late 20s or early 30s. I'm in my mid-20s and have been a fan of Knight Rider since I was two years old, yes I watched it during its initial run and caught whatever episodes I missed in syndication. There are fans of the original series that are in their early 20s or teens because of syndication as well since Knight Rider aired rather frequently in the US on the USA Network, the Sci-Fi channel and is currently on Slueth. I'm not even going into the tens of millions of other fans around the world that caught the series in syndication as well.

I really hope episode 13 clarifies things, perhaps with Charles role in this "project" something that wasn't totally willing and Knight Industries was at the mercy of the goverment, which got its hands on KARR's original AI unit and Charles went and tried to fix KARR but failed in doing so as KARR, after being "alive" for over 25 years managed to evolve and be able to self program, which resulted in his overriding whatever new instructions Charles tried to put in place. Resulting in the incident was that resulted in seven people getting killed and Mike having done to him that resulted in the screwing with his memory.

I hope you guys aren't so at the mercy of Ford that you can't even mention or allude to the Trans-Am or even just call it a black T-Top..

THE PASSWORD IS: LEARNS ALO...... YOU HAVE TO FINISH THE SECOND WORD. I TRIED ALONE BUT IT DOESN'T WORK

I agree with everyone but i think you should get some rights from GM to use the trans am name once and awhile and use pics from the old show! but i do agree with everyone eles K.A.R.R will allways be a Trans Am unless you fill the last 25yrs on what happen to him!!

I enjoyed the episode. Personally, I felt it was worth the wait (thanks to Obama- not). However, one aspect keeps bugging me and I can’t allow it to settle without at least asking:
Is the KARR that was in the episode the original KARR from the original series (IE his CPU in a new shell)? Going on what KI3T said, it could be taken both ways. It just doesn’t make sense to me that they would recreate a corrupted program such as KARR again. I perfectly understand the new body without the Trans Am (and personally, I like it) due to issues with Pontiac.

From what I was able to find out. If you saw the images that KI3T projected on the screen, KARR came up as a trans am and the terminator robot looking thing. When KARR exploed last time his cpu was still intact so that means it was possible they rebuilt him, maybe in efforts to try and fix him and his evil ways, but they failed at it, maybe someone else put him together. They need to explain KI2T before they bring KARR in the picture for episode 12: "a Knight to King's Pawn".

When is the knight industry research site going to put on the rest of the information, I figured out the code but not sure is it learns alows not sure I think it is.

[EDITOR'S NOTE: Close... but not quite.]

When you log in, where to you type in the other password?

[EDITOR'S NOTE: More clues will be given...]

What goes that to pass that is that the present producers go, invented us a history that yours not standing on the origins of KARR. Why not a machine of war used in Iraq, because Mike seems to know it... Finally KARR is therefore the origin of the artificial intelligence of the KNIGHT INDUSTRIES of KI2T between other... Otherwise is necessary to change the name of your humanoid machine! Because it is more a continuation, that you are entrein to achieve, but a very bad remake! The fans you recall, it is KNIGHT RIDER, not TRANSFORMERS!

[EDITOR'S NOTE: They did change the name of KARR -- same acronym, but it stands for something different.]

Is KARR going to be another Mustang? Or another awesome sports car? I'm not feeling the cyborg thing at this point.

Can someone tell me what the username and Password to Knight Industries login page. Thank You

learns alone? possibly?

I just finished watching "Knight of the Living Dead" and I just have to say as a die hard fan of the original Knight Rider, I loved it! I was confused about the K.A.R.R. reference in the show and the exoskeleton picture with it not being a Trans Am. Also I was confused about K.A.R.R.'s acronym. K.I.T.T. called him the Knight cybernetic Automated Roving Robot. Since when did K.A.R.R. become cybernetic? I know K.I.T.T. wouldn't have known all about K.A.R.R. but I want to know will this be explained in episode 12? Also I would be nice if Mike is on a mission and Charles tells Mike he should see his father for help. And have Michael Knight (David Hasselhof) have his KITT's "conscience" as part of his house, Ironman style and he should get briefings on missions from the Foundation like Ex-Presidents do when they're out of office.

Well, there are 8 Alo words I found in the dictionary.
Aloe, Aloft, Aloha, Alone,
Along, Aloof, Alopecia, Aloud.
Do we truly know if there are only two words in the password?

1983... the IBM PC with Microsoft DOS. If they're still using the same 25 year old CPU in K.A.R.R., I could program my DVD Player to kick its butt. For those who take this show way too seriously. This was just a J.O.K.E.

The great aspect of Knight Rider is the fun it has within the drama. Although I knew it would take time to develop a sense of humor and personality in K.I.T.T., I'm glad to see it coming out this soon. Keep up the good work.

Humphrey ABD

learns alot ?

You know when you sit there and advertise a password that people have to figure out and not tell them where to input it, and then you find out it's because you haven't finished building the site it's supposed to be used on, that's just plain inconsiderate.

Your blog teaser should have been better timed with the update of the site.

I'm pretty sure I know what your magical password is and you better hope you have his permission to use it or you're going to be in serious hot water.

If I'm wrong, then my prior points still stand. Don't advertise something you don't have.

I've checked every inch of the KR site, there's nothing additional there that can be accessed with another password and you know it.

Why don't you spend less time being vague about things and be more informative.

=VK=

Alot isn't a word, so I hope not. I liked what someone else suggested in that the word Sarah was typing was "Learns Along" which could be an anagram for Glen A Larson. Now that would be clever.

Yes Humphrey, we (or at least I) know that in comparison, KARR's CPU should be a snail in molasses compared to today but the AI unit that is KARR or the original KITT is more than just a CPU. In the original series, the AI and the vehicle were two separate entities as the car itself had a computer on board. The AI was there giving instructions to the other processors that were controlling the car. This separation was shown multiple times during the original series with KITT being removed from the Knight 2000 (the proper name for the car) including at least one episode, Sole Survivor in season two where KITT was hacked by a teenager (on a Commadore64 or something like that none the less) and removed from the car, which ended up in control of Adrianne Margeaux, operated by said teenager in a hilariously bad way (an Atari joystick, IIRC) who went on to reappear in a later episode, Goliath Returns. Anyway, the point is that, in some ways yeah it'd be odd to just use the original KARR's AI unit, due to potential compatibility issues and KARR not having brains advanced enough to handle things that should be more intensive and require more processing power though, from what we saw, KARR(E)'s transforming looked a lot more simplistic than what the new KITT is doing, he could simply just be able to tell the on board computer what to do similar to how KARR and KITT interacted with their versions of the cars they were in before or they could have simply upgraded KARR with the original AI unit, or transferred the AI into a newer unit as an upgrade. There should be no expectations for KARR to return in a Trans-Am, that would just be silly since the body was destroyed in his second appearance, but the AI Unit/CPU was still "alive" as shown at the end.

The point is that, it's just bad writing if this was all Charles doing and he wasn't at least coerced into it in some way and the original AI wasn't involved. Only a complete moron/buffoon/doofus/idiot/maroon/dumbass and potentially insane to make that mistake again in making another KARR in name and everything. If this is meant to be a true continuation and not a lame attempt at revising history then this KARR must be related to the original even if the words that make up the acronym have changed, this is not a situation similar to having two KITTs since that fits perfectly as a progression from the "Knight Industries Two-Thousand" to "Knight Industries Three-Thousand", two different KARRs? The name of failed and disastrous projects is generally never used again. It would be like NASA naming a new space shuttle "Challenger" as someone I chatted with about this episode put it.

With no connection to the KARR from the original series, it's like a kick in the testicles, even possibly for those fans who don't actually have testicles, even more so if the KARR episodes were among your favorite. Like a "big **** you, we're doing what we want and don't care about the original series or its fans". There's a balance that has to be struck between appeasing the old fans and bringing in new ones, but this is going over the line. You don't just tease the original fan base responsible for keeping the Knight Rider name alive even after multiple colossal failures like Knight Rider 2000, Team Knight Rider and Knight Rider 2010 which was nothing more than an attempt to capitalize on the name like that. It would just be a massive mistake IMO and alienate a good portion of the core fan base that's already divided over the series.

Many of us want badly for this series to succeed, I've done my fair share in defending things that have been done and choices that have been made with looking on for a bright side, which is weird since, surprise, I'm generally not much of an optimist, I'm even doing it for this episode, which I was liking, even more so with the first KARR mention, but then it crashed and burned near the end when more details on apparently KARRE, it just about killed it for me. Looking through it again, I did find a potential bright spot in KITT saying that there might be more about KARR(E) that he doesn't have access to. I hope, that I'm not too far off because if it doesn't turn out at least somewhat how I'm expecting it to. Then there isn't going to be something I could defend and probably find a bight side for, I dunno if it'd be enough to kill my interest in the show, but it would certainly damage it.

It might be the most genius thing ever written but again, with a series that is supposed to be in the same universe as the original series and maintain its history, a few Easter eggs and references here (it's nice that you guys apparently have a KNIGHT license plate now, I hope it's legit) and there, aren't going to cut it.. Like I've said before, episodes 12 and 13 are going to be hugely important, I just hope the ratings recover next week after the dismal number it got last Wednesday though I can't blame the show for that, I blame NBC's lack of advertising and maybe a bit of the competition. It was a good episode I thought, light on the action (which I'm sure helped with the budget) but still getting some important interaction with the characters. But the KARR(E) thing just about killed it for me. I can't remember if I wrote about it in the comments here, but I did on a site I know GST is familiar with and I do hope it's a similar route that's being taken, I know the story at this point is written and I'm sure filming is either starting or has already by this point. Hopefully there aren't legal concerns when it comes to reading what we fans have written in how we hope or would like to see in the direction of the series take. I doubt any of us would care or desire credit anyway, we just want the show to be the best it can be and honor what came before it instead of trying to "reinvent" everything.

I haven't even gotten on all the "borrowing" from other franchises as reviewers and others have in ripping the new series, it doesn't bother much as much as others but some of it is almost almost out of the David E. Peckinpah (actually maybe I should just say Hollywood since it's done everywhere) school of story telling that was used in the third season of Sliders, in having your writers watch a bunch of movies and then take ideas from those movies and then write an episode from those "borrowed" ideas. It can just make things look like a total rip off and hell, I actually like the Transforming, as ridiculous as it is.

Gah, I feel more and more like a nerd writing all this stuff and what started as only a paragraph has become a bloody novel. =\ A terrible novel at that in which I know I've repeated myself way too much.

Oh yeah, I saw the new videos in the employee database, well one I saw last week when we weren't supposed to, but the second one was new. Kind of sucks that NBC made you guys cut them for being "too dark".

If I understand well, will the name of KARR be used for another machine that the one that we know?? If that the case is not it yours standing, KARR is the name of the Knight Automated Roving Robot, is not? Create by the business Knight Industry, before the creation of the KI2T model. I fear the worse...

At this point I invest in the best and that is Glen A. Larson the real father of Knight Rider and the only person on this planet qualified to continue writing it save for Robert Foster.

If you want to see this series reach a second season I suggest you seek out either of them and LISTEN to their suggestions, don't just blow them off.

I know you've spoken to Tom Greene but talking to and listening to are a world of difference. Everyone out there is trying to help give you the keys to a hit series, you have to start listening to it and doing something about it rather then continuing to do things "your way" which has proven not to be the "best way" to do them.

=VK=

You know, I love the opportunity you've given us here to contact you directly and publicly, and I'd just like to issue an apology on behalf of everyone in my age bracket (18-30, and yes we can be 'fans of the original series' as the original series has been out on DVD for, like, four years) for the frightening lack of constructive criticism. I mean, I'm seeing a lot of criticism, but not a lot of constructive criticism-- just knee-jerk 'how dare you!' reactions.

Now, I'll admit, some of what's happened doesn't thrill me, there have indeed been some moments that have made me want to bang my head against the wall (Mike is poisoned, the assassin is female, we have three female agents, so clearly the solution is to send a dying man out to hopefully shoot the right guy instead of sending Sarah or Zoe and putting Mike in a hospital bed, and the decision to make the Knight Auto-Cybernetic Roving Robotic Exoskeleton-- KA(C)RR(E)-- instead of just the Knight Auto-Cybernetic Exoskeleton or the Knight Automated Roving Robot-- Kitt has an excuse to share a name with his predecessor), but there have also been some really GOOD moments (Kitt and Mike and the western, Kitt preferring to die rather than lose his sense of self, Mike knowing his father's real name, Billy leading Fake Zoe up the tunnel, the way I can go back and look at previous episodes and what I thought looked kind of lame at the time suddenly looks like foreshadowing), and-- now that I've got the comment function here figured out (I had some problems using IE)-- I plan to do my best to give feedback on BOTH. On the good, the bad, the iffy, the writing, the whole shebang.

Constructive criticism requires that you find something honestly positive to say along with the negatives, and even the negatives need to be approached as fixable. It's also a courteous idea to sign your post with your name (or at least your handle; my parents didn't name me Hat, after all), especially if you're not going to include your email address.

I do not understand the people who seem to chime in here with ONLY negatives. No, the show is not everything the original was, and that's okay! As someone who loves the original and has watched every episode at least once and favorite episodes multiple times, I feel quite confident in saying that, as iconic as it is, the original Knight Rider is a ham and cheese sandwich on wheels.

I love it, yes, but I'm not pretending it's Shakespeare.

I'm not pretending THIS show is Shakespeare, either. Yes, it's important that you try not to make mistakes, but it's not the end of the world-- and it isn't like every character has to always be telling the truth, or always know the whole truth.

This whole plot arc with Karr (although if he doesn't turn out to be the original Karr, I'm just going to start thinking of him as Kace, honestly, as it's easier on my brain... but I also like to think Carrie's absence in Journey and Iguana were because she was in Washington getting chewed out for abusing her position to 'kill' Mike-- I shouldn't HAVE to write fanfiction to make things make sense, but the way my brain works, I can't HELP it) fascinates me and I can't wait to see how it plays out. The videos are tantalizing and I'm so sorry NBC made you edit the 'dreams' out of Hard Day's-- I knew that the poison being hallucinogenic couldn't have been a throwaway reference. ... Honestly, I sort of thought everything from Mike blacking out in the park was going to be a hallucination, right up until the end-- the Chekov's Gun factor. I have my hopes and suspicions about the Karr arc, but the fact remains that I can't predict what you guys are going to do. You don't take the same risks I'd take and you don't always play into what I'd expect as 'the formula,' so I'm just going to watch and enjoy and kick theories around with friends.

These people who don't seem to be able to watch and enjoy, I don't understand. If you hate it so much, why are you still watching?

Hey Guys, just wanted to let you know I wantched the episode and Please Explain KARR....I do wrighte fanfiction, and ould certaunly hate to explain where the new KARR came from also what is the new password and where do I type it in at on the knight Reaserrch site?

Ok, so its definitely got to be GLENALARSON for the password of Knight Industries Research,, but I can't figure out how to format the username. Should it be in all caps? all small letters? is it one work or two? should i put spaces in either the username or the password? There are so many combinations, its retarded lol!

This is what i figures it to be

username : charlesgraiman
password: glenalarson

but that didn't work.... =(

ok hints:

who are Devon and Bonnie? In Knight of the Iguana, Mike and Zoe are "Devon and Bonnie"

Another Hint:

the tv aired passcode was LEARNS ALONG which would be a uitable anagram for GLENALARSON

unfortunately i still can't figure out the format to put the username and password into. I've tried tons of variations.

username: mikeandzoe
password: glenalarson

that did NOT work! =(

I think the pasword is going to be LEARNS ALONG for sure, but as to where you type it in? No clue. Other than that, this episode certainly lived up to its "formula-breaking" toutment. Every week its getting better and better. And with KARR being mentioned? Couldn't be any btter than this. It's making the wait for epi 12, where KARR will be introduced for real, much easily to take.

Watching Trust Doesn't Rust again I think I know where GST got the "cybernetic" thing from. KARR mentions his need for a "cybernetic technician" which in this case was Bonnie. Still would like to know the reasoning as to why that was added to the name...

Maybe we're a little too hard on GST, after all he is still at the mercy of the drunken monkeys in charge of NBC.

After reading the news today that there are going to be major changes with the cast of the show, I'm pleased to see that it seems the producers, writers, and execs are really taking to heart some of the thoughtful criticism being left here. Thank you for reading our comments and taking them into consideration. I hope the "reboot" as it's being called will have more Knight Rider-like scoring and pay homage to the original series more than try to change it. Here's hoping for the best.

I'm going to make some guesses now instead of waiting for future episodes.....

Everything we're seeing so far could be very consistent with getting rid of Alex, Carrie, and Charles. (Although I hope we can keep the options open for Charles appearing once in a while).

I'd say that we're using the current episodes to make Mike and Kitt a team, but foreshadowing a major confrontation with Alex that will provide a great reason to "change" the direction of the show without having to never re-run the first dozen episodes. (Although, to be honest, I really though ep. 1 was pretty bad....glad I stuck with the show).

All of the hints of Mike’s “hidden” past seem to me to be pointing towards his having been part of a test military program with a new “weapon”/mobile unit. That would be this incarnation of KARR. Mike would have been a logical choice for this program as a skilled soldier who was also known to Knight Industries.

Now I get into real speculation. Let’s assume that Alex was the government lead/liason or some such for this test. And something went very, very wrong during the test, and seven people were killed. The only thing that kept it from being worse is that Mike was eventually able to control KARR; no one else was. So when the decision was made to cover up the test and it’s results, the decision was made to keep Mike alive and available for future use…but without his memories of the KARR disaster.

But as we’ve seen both in on-air episodes and in the videos on the web site, Mike is starting to remember. When a major crisis happens (from the web listing’s I’d guess a threat to Kitt in ep. 12), Mike gets his full memory back. And after whatever is done in ep. 13 to resolve the crisis, Mike and KITT issue an ultimatum: Alex goes or we go. If Knight Industries boots out the FBI, there’s no reason for Carrie anymore. And Charles would probably feel guilty enough about what happened that he’d resign, perhaps saying something like “you don’t need me anymore, anyway”.

Sure, there’s a lot of detail missing from those guesses (like can we PLEASE do something nasty to Alex for what he did to Mike?); but that’s where I think the story arc is leading. This episode especially showed us how Mike and KITT (and Sarah, too) are becoming a team; I think that’ll be crucial for the big show-down, for Kitt to be loyal to Mike more that the SSC. It was very much a character-driven episode as far as KITT was concerned; he only got one real “action” scene!

So how’d I do!

so have we figured out the password? but how does it get entered?
by the way, I am loving this series and don't care what the flamers think. they just don't like changes that you have had to make to keep up with the times

Hey "Whome"... the stuff you've thought over kinda makes sense....
How 'baout the same amount of comprehensive speculation on the possible passcode for knight industries research?

THE SITE LOGIN IS devon THE PASS IS bonnie ALL UNDERCASE

I have heard the news that you guys are going to take off 3 characters, Graiman, Torres, and Rivai. I DO NOT agree with the fact the inventor of the first KITT and the new KITT is being taken off. He is the only connection we have to the original show and I believe that this move should be reconsidered. How are you guys going to incorporate original mythology or even have Hasselhoff and KI2T back without Graiman who is the brains and creator of it all (supposedly).

Is there any chance of remembering the old days with KI2T & MK still? I hope you guys consider this move because I am sure having the original MK & KI2T return and with proper advertising will catch peoples eyes!

Anyway I wish the show success because I am huge fan of the original and I hope it works out for you guys, I just really hope the original isn’t forgotten!

I agree with the non-haters. Leave the new KARR to the new series.I also agree that Michael was part of the KARR program and that is why KITT is shutting him out of knowing the truth. Graimen's order.

I wish we could use the new passcode somehow. Unfortunatly the guys who run this internet thing/knight industries site aren't doing a good job at it. They tell us every week to take a look at Michael Knight's past and it's teh SAME THING EVERY WEEK. Let's see something different for once!

OMG, you were right the username is devon and the pw is bonnie, but with all the hints it just doesn't make any sense....however those are the correct credentials

WTF when is the KnightInd site gona be up and running the full features?? We figured out the password which is "learns along" so where is it that we have to input this passcode - if it goes in the beginin of the site then ok cool, but whats the login? is it still devon or is it something else??

Hint: this password is use in site internal area.
