To the Fans,

Well, this is the message I didn't want to post. I'm sure as most of you know by now, Journeyman will likely not be getting a back nine order. Rather than dwell on the reasons behind this decision, my fellow Executive Producer, the great Alex Graves and myself would rather remind people that our last two episodes will air next Monday night, December 17 th at 10 PM and Wednesday December 19th at 10 PM. These two episodes will provide some answers, plenty of speculation, a few surprises and hopefully some satisfying closure. They are, I promise you, very entertaining.

I want to thank the tireless and talented Kevin McKidd and the entire cast (in my opinion, the best on television and guess what, the kindest and most professional). Yes, it was hard breaking stories on this show, but it would have been harder without the collective genius of the writing staff. Every guest director that passed through said our crew was the best they ever worked with, basically telling me something I already knew. Some producers loathe their relationships with studio and networks, maybe that's because they never worked for the executives at 20th Century Fox and NBC. My sincerest thanks.

And finally, to the fans. Thank you for appreciating a different kind of show that sought to not only entertain, but to provoke and inspire. I'd like to think it says a lot about you. When the numbers slipped and we sometimes seconded guessed ourselves, you gave us validation and so we stayed the course.

Oh, and your fight to save Journeyman has humbled and moved us. I'm certainly not going to tell you to stop now. Again, our sincere gratitude and a deep bow from the waist.

It's been fun. I wish you all the Happiest of Holidays.

A Message from Kevin Falls

I had to drop in, I won't stay long. I just wanted to say after a long day, reading your comments is a welcome tonic. Your enthusiasm and praise (and constructive criticism) has meant a lot to me, fellow Executive Producer Alex Graves, the writers, cast and crew of our show. We set out to do a fresh, provocative but entertaining hour of television that respected the viewers' intelligence and judging by your thoughtful responses, we think we've hit our mark.

So thank you for your kind words. Whether we survive the year remains to be seen, but I think this show and our fans have a strong finishing kick. I hope so, because I want to continue to work with a wonderful group of people and bring you a show we're immensely proud of - and you deserve.

Our next few episodes are among our best and most thrilling and will answer more questions you've had about Dan, Katie, Jack, Livia and...Elliot Langley.

Thanks again,

Kevin Falls

Thank You!

I want to thank NBC for having our show on! To be a part of a network doing great television like Heroes is an honor. But thanks also to the fans who will be the lifeblood of the show. There isn't a show I've been on where writers don't read the boards...so we really want to entertain you (or your money back!). So I guarantee you that you will be entertained. I'm writing the 9th episode right now and they all just keep getting better.

And as good as Kevin McKidd is, the rest of the cast is amazing. There is a chemistry that is starting to form. And if you don't like the show after four episodes, well I dare you not to like it after four! You folks who watch it are the reason why we will stay on the air!

The Writing Process

Each week we have a procedural, which is Dan's mission that he has to execute each week. By the way, a lot of these missions are done for a reason and will assemble into a climax ultimately. There's this thing with Dan and Katie and Dan and Olivia and exploring those relationships each week which is a more long term story. So there are stand-alones where new viewers can watch and not have to catch up, but where loyal viewers are rewarded each week with ever-evolving characters. So we'll rip something from an old headline or we'll think of something that's happened in our lives or in an old movie that we saw. Episode 4 was inspired by The Killing Fields. We're writers...we're inspired but tons of things throughout the course of the day. But we don't want to be predictable, so the 3rd Episode will take place in 1 day of the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989 and he wants to save the city but finds that it's a very difficult thing to do. It's a really strong episode, and one in which we want to be very sensitive to those who died in or were forever impacted by that earthquake...and yet tell the viewers a story that's compelling and evocative.

Time Traveler's Wife

I didn't read Time Traveler's Wife. When I did the outline, i turned it into NBC and some people made comments that there were some similarities. In my original version, he would arrive without clothes and people pointed out that happens in Time Traveler's Wife. And I didn't want to do something that was already done and I respect that book and so the last thing I wanted to do was rip off that book. So I did read the first 50 pages and I realized there was quite a bit of difference between what I want to do and what they'd already done. I didn't even finish the book, but I know there's going to be a movie and I'm sure it's going to be a wonderful movie...and nothing at all like Journeyman.

For Rome and Kevin McKidd Fans

I love Kevin McKidd, first of all. We've just scratched the surface with Kevin. He's such a magnificent actor. When I met him back in February, I didn't know if I would get this smoking brooding actor or what...instead I met this hardworking, gentlemanly, amazing actor...a totally great guy. He loves this show. He truly believes in this show. He works hard. He's in almost every scene. He's carrying this show on his back. You Rome fans, I apologize for coming to the party so late with this guy.

Oh, and ladies...you get to see him in a tuxedo and he sure cleans up nice! He's quite a romantic...he had lots of options for cop shows but turned them down because he liked the romance in this show. He's a big softy! He's really a romantic at heart and completely embraced the romance in Journeyman. In the 4th episode that airs, you see him at a gala with Katie and if that doesn't elevate your love of Kevin McKidd, I don't know what will...he's magnificent in that episode.

Is Dan's "dead" girlfriend a traveler?

Yes, she is a time traveler and we'll get into that story line more in subsequent episodes.
