Who Will America Choose?

Hey Guys!

Did you catch the latest show? Pretty cool stuff. I am amazed on how many of the acts improved their talents from the audition round to what we saw Wednesday night. It feels good to know some of these people are actually taking my advice! These people can't forget, they are performing for a million bucks!

I am even more excited to see who America ultimately chooses as their favorite act. It's hard for a judge to decide, I can't imagine how tough it is for a viewer at home to choose. Keep in mind, you can vote up to ten times for your favorite act, so keep plugging away because the more you vote each week, the more likely you'll see your favorite act in the final round.

Make sure to check out next week's blog, but until then...

Hi David, I love this show! I can't get enough of the talent showcased week after week. I record the shows and watch them 5 or 6 times a night. The dancing llama was my favorite, but I can't forget the belly danving sumo wrestler. Please tell me who won. Was it the 3 year old who could recite the US constitution? Anyway, hope you are enjoying your summer. Your friend, Pecos.

Remember to check out http://www.r4t5.com

Hey Sara, I really liked the dancing llama too. Also that www.r4t5.com site is really funny. Any site that likes Hoff as much as me is worth its weight in gold.

Oh I meant, Pecos. Sorry.

David,
Just want to say I loved the T-shirt you were wearing a couple of episode's ago. It was the one that stated "Don't Hassle the Hoff"
I loved it, where can I get one of those??

I like the shirt with the slogan of "Don't Hassel the Hoff" myself, and it makes me laugh every time I see it.
I love DH poking fun at himself with the shirt; it's great!
Looking forward to the show tomorrow night and good luck with performing your musical show in Melbourne, Australia, DH!

I liked the Matadors, how come you, Piers and Brandy didn't?

I already picked the winner a long time ago and that's the quick change artists. Mark my words. They are the only act that literally floored me. Don't get me wrong, there are some terrific acts, but none that can beat the quick change artists!

Posted by: Ronney | July 26, 2006 06:12 AM

Looking forward to the show later on tonight...I've been taping all of them each week. :-) All the DHCA club members are following this show like crazy...In the last 2 weeks over 100 new members have joined the club! David, you are definitely the King Of The Internet...congrats! Keep up the great work; we'll all be tuning in tonight!

Question/comment:

I love the show. I've been whatching it every week and can't get enough of it. Bianca/the 11 yr old who sings/ is my favorite right now, I can NOT wait to see her tonight. The power, pasion, phyisical strength and movements amazes me.

The question would be. And I want you to take me seriously, so please read this...

I love to sing. Been doing it since I could make baby noices. I would make my own songs, canse I couldn't talk yet. I actualy remember walking around the house, making my voice going up and down llike singers do. I loved the sound of it. The feeling of it. I sang in church and I would sing infront of ANYBODY that would listen. I could belt anything, high or low.

About 12 years into my life I started doubting myself. I don't know why or where it came from .I knew I could sing, but I just didn't think I could sing good enough to be anything with it. I have felt that way untill about 2 weeks ago.

I was in my car, driving to see mom. I was singing to some songs that I really love, that move me alot*Christain songs..go figure* Any way. I don't understand what happend, but it just came out of me. And when it did, it hit me..BOOM! I could remember my childhood. Singing the way I did. I could sing, It WAS there. I've been in chorus for like 13 years. and most of it I went thinking I couldn't do it. I don't get it. Cause I can! My love in this world, in my soul, my heart, my mind, my body, is singing. I whatch ppl sing and cry at their expence, because it's such a beautiful sight and sound. Theres nothing in this place other than my Lord and Savior Jeus Christ, that makes me feel so alive in side and happy.

I'm not a person of money. I'm engaged, we have a 16 month old amazing little girl. We're staying with His parents. Rently 3 bedrooms up stairs. Not the best place on alot of levels to be living, but we don't have much of a choice right now. My fiance is a manager in retail. I'm the stay at home mom. I didn't come from a family of wealth. I can't just fly or drive somewhere to try out for something. I don't know what I should be doing David. Please, I know you have a hectic life style, but could you find a moment, just a moment of your time, to emial me . I'd give you my address or @, cause it's more sensible but not online for the world to see. I really would like to hear your opinion.

ika_11402@yahoo.com

Thank you so much, I appreciate what ever you can say or do for me.

Dear David

Can't wait until tonight to see you on AGT. I never miss any of the shows. I watch the repeats on the Bravo channel as well just to watch you. I read that you might not come back for next year's AGT. The show is nothing without you. Please reconsider.

As far as I'm concerned you've always been king. Keep up the great work you're doing on the show.

Love,
Barb

Posted by: lamonte | July 26, 2006 03:32 PM

My cousin was in the audience for the taping of tonights show, DH got in a big argument with one of the producers and walked out! Say it ain't so David!!!

I don't blame you for leaving this show David, you are so much better than this junk. What a horrible rip-off of the Gong Show! I can't beleive you even took the spot. Simon is such a sell-out. I really hope you find better ways to use your talents David, and wish you the best in whatever you do

Posted by: Kenny | July 26, 2006 07:49 PM

geez hoff...do you even bother to read stuff from your fans?

Posted by: marymag | July 26, 2006 08:43 PM

p.s. hoff cut a tendon when a chandelier fell on his arm when he bumped into it. i found this out by going to the-trades.com and reading their reviews. there is also a really kewl video of the hoff where he sings!!

Hey David
I really like AtLast. They are really good. I can see them going all the way. My little brother really liked Bobby Bat Fingers.

Posted by: cindy | July 26, 2006 10:26 PM

Why did you leave the show on such short notice David? There is a lot of great talent, and they need a level head like yours. I hope you work things out. We're counting on you!

Posted by: Chester | July 26, 2006 11:20 PM

Hi David,

I love the show. I live in Holland and am very happy NBC puts the video's online, so people abroad can watch the performances too. My favorite is Bianca Ryan. I've seen her performance at least 200 times and still she amazes me. She is the best, hope she wins.
Best of luck with the show.

Kind regards from Amsterdam,

Monique

Brandi is a horrible judge and Piers is the only one with an eye for real talent. I mean come on, the electric violin? That chick was abominable! Can Brandi ASAP!

Posted by: Whitney | July 27, 2006 01:43 AM

hey david ur awewsome im watching tonights episode right now

piers a=is a exact copy of simon lol davis hasslehoff

P.S ur awesome

Posted by: Anonymous | July 27, 2006 01:55 AM

You've got to be kidding me....1013 Concept was put through, but not PBM????? Come on...at least you could follow a PBM tune....these guys sounded like they weren't even playing the same song......BRING BACK PBM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: MJ | July 27, 2006 01:59 AM

I love the show. There is only one problem for the viewing audience at home. The camera keeps pulling away from the stage and viewing the audience and judges. It makes it difficult for us to see what is going on half the time. We tend to miss a few things that are happening at the moment.

Posted by: Laurie | July 27, 2006 02:02 AM

I do love watching the show. But I think the judges should be a little more critical. Piers seems to be the only one really telling like it is. Come on, if you are picking out real talent, you have to be very critical. Some of these acts shouldn't have made it to the second round and some should have. Stop being so nice. Or are you worried about the way people might perceive you. I admire Piers for being so honest.

Posted by: Teresa | July 27, 2006 02:13 AM

I think the judging for the magic act with elliot sucked,I guess it didn't show enough tixx and asx to be judged good. I thought it was awesome for someone to have that much talent to do magic tricks like that and then to get 3 x's I think america should have the chance to x out the judges. That would be very cool. Well now I know why I don't ever watch this no more and after that Why would I.

Posted by: tknepper | July 27, 2006 02:16 AM

i love watching the show this week was good with the rapping granny i hope she wins no other granny could do that. i watch the show every wednesday night.

Posted by: juanita cornett | July 27, 2006 02:17 AM

Since you are brave enough to put a blog up, I have to comment on the very talented 11 year old, redhead. OH MY GOD!!! Did you really hear that voice. I almost felt that Janice was there with her. She so stepped out of her comfort zone. I have to give her such big KOODOS. This kid has talent beyond what she even knows yet. I am sure that her Dad could not be more proud. Great show!!

Posted by: maurette hanson | July 27, 2006 02:46 AM

hmmmmm......u guys suck....rappin granny is horrible. she puts rap in crap.wat do u guys feel sry for her cause shes old. she sucks. how didnt that one rock band with the trumbone get all x's and the granny got all checks. hey brandi, r u racist or sumthin. wat u dont like rock so you dont like them. man all you guys suck........this show blows.......right me back.!!!!!

Posted by: lolly | July 27, 2006 02:59 AM

you gotta be kidding me. i just lost all interest in this show. how in the world could you guys pick the rapping granny, and lie to her with a straight face.

Posted by: kevin | July 27, 2006 03:02 AM

Love the show. Too bad the camera works is so horrible. I tune in to watch the acts, not the dang audience.

Voting the Rapping Granny in was a joke. No way she was the most talented tonight. Sad.

Posted by: Tim Bishop | July 27, 2006 03:05 AM

ARE U KIDDING ME SHE (granny) SUCKS. ARE U DEAF DID U NOT HEAR HER SCREAM THATS NOT RAP. IT SOUNDS LIKE SHE WAS HAVING A SEIZURE. DAMN CLEAN OUT YOUR EARS.

Posted by: jim | July 27, 2006 03:05 AM

concept 1013 should've made it, they were decent. Rapping granny is cute, but not the most talented. The magican (shot from the canon) was ok too.
I didn't see the end of the show, who go voted through?
The b-ball guys were very good.

Posted by: hector | July 27, 2006 03:09 AM

we HATED your pick for July 26th.............rappin granny was AWFUL...........the magician was by far the greatest act of the night!!!!

Are they kidding me.. rappin grandma was awful! yet she got the vote over real talent.. unreal

Posted by: Christine | July 27, 2006 03:10 AM

I have to agree -- the rapping granny was pretty bad, mostly a novelty act getting a sympathy vote. Don't get me wrong -- I think it's amazing that a 72-year old has the cajones to get up in front of a national audience and strut like that -- but the most talented? I have to disagree. My vote still goes for Bianca Ryan, even though she made a bad choice of song. Janis Joplin she's not. At least not yet. :-)

Posted by: Michael | July 27, 2006 03:10 AM

I can't believe with all the talent on the show that you guys would chose to sent rapping granny on. She has no talent, and it is very sad to watch. If she gets through the final, I'll know the show is rigged.

Posted by: Anonymous | July 27, 2006 03:11 AM

David, You were more human tonight and more honest. Good for you, there is still hope.....for you
Thought Granny was OK but the only reason she made it was that most of the others on the show tonite were really bad. The illusionist was great, I liked him better than Granny. The 11 yr old girl that sang Janice Joplens hit was ok, but she didnt hit it like she did the other time.

Posted by: Mark | July 27, 2006 03:12 AM

Rapping granny was my all time favorite. I think you all made the right choice. GO GRANNY! I love the show...when we go on vacation I am going to tape it so I can watch it.

Posted by: kaitlyn | July 27, 2006 03:12 AM

Personally, I think you chose a great lady as part of the final event. She has presence and I was totally entertain even though I do not listen to rap music. I like how she was able to gather the attention of the crowd and I am sure the T.V. audience will agree.

Bianca Ryan is amazing!!! Were the judges bribed/drunk/insane? Is that why they chose that horrible rapping granny??!! Why didn't they chose the 11 year old red-head? She's great! If that girl ever came out with a CD, I would buy it.

Posted by: Sarah | July 27, 2006 03:13 AM

Vote Stilt world! they got TALENT. What they do is fantastic! you will love to watch them again. you dont see it much, and they got it

Posted by: scobie | July 27, 2006 03:13 AM

Good show the granny should not be in next round! I agree the judges need to be more harsh and not like everyone...

Posted by: Timothy | July 27, 2006 03:13 AM

Piers rules.. He is the only honest judge. Both David and Brandi are too scared to tell some contestants that they stink. I guess they just do not want the audience to boo them. brandi has too much of a soft heart to be a true judge.

Posted by: sdc | July 27, 2006 03:13 AM

Thanks a lot for making a fun and entertaining show stupid by picking the worst act as the judge’s choice. Rapping Granny has zero talent! I think it’s time to stop watching this show! Very disappointing!

Posted by: KL | July 27, 2006 03:14 AM

Hey david! I really enjoyed tonight's show! I was really surprized that the judges unanimously picked rappin' granny, but nonetheless, I'm sure she would have gotten it anyway. I personally loved Nathan Burton. Can't wait for more! -Jonathan PS: I was watching reruns of whose line is it anyway and saw you, it was hilarious! ^_^

Posted by: Jonathan | July 27, 2006 03:14 AM

why could you pick rappi'n granny Bianca Ryan was sooo much better. Even though the song she sang tonight wasn't the best, she has some real talent, she should win.

Posted by: eddie doug | July 27, 2006 03:14 AM

The juggler guy... He was afraid he was going to drop something... You let him on the show with fire?!!
How could you Hasslehoff?!

Posted by: Jim | July 27, 2006 03:14 AM

Yo BTW even The trumpster xkant hassle the Hoff!

Posted by: Alxa | July 27, 2006 03:15 AM

WHAT?????? RAPPIN GRANNY?????? Bianca Ryan by far has more talent in her tiny little toe then that rapping granny does in her whole body......come on judges! you are looking for TALENT!!!!!

Posted by: SashaCat | July 27, 2006 03:15 AM

Hey Hoff, I'm not going to watch this show any more since you put through Rappin' Granny! That's the biggest joke since the old guy that was a stripper!!!!

Posted by: Greg | July 27, 2006 03:16 AM

the judge's choice this week was mediocre at best. There was so much talent that to choose a mediocre act for nothing more than a sympathy vote is betraying the honesty of the program. Just because someone is 72, jumps around, and yells into a mike doesn't make them worthy of being put through ahead of other far more talented acts. I am extremely disappointed at such a sell out. You lost me as a fan and a viewer with that vote.

Posted by: Bob Pittman | July 27, 2006 03:16 AM

Yo Bianca is better than the Granny she would be loved Buy Simon Cowell but not by u 3

Posted by: Alxa | July 27, 2006 03:17 AM

Sarah, I totally agree! Brandy hit it right on though. Her first week was better. Even though this week was not as good, she STILL blew away the competition! I am using every vote on the red-head!

Posted by: Jason | July 27, 2006 03:17 AM

The judges could not have disappointed the viewing audience more. Rapping Granny? What were guys smoking before the show?

Posted by: Kay | July 27, 2006 03:18 AM

Rapping granny was exactly that a granny! What a joke. The other have been working on thier talkent for years and were so much better. The judges voted in granny cause they knew america wouldn't. Now either the magican or bianca is going to get cut David you just lost your "Hoff" points big time!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: andrea green | July 27, 2006 03:19 AM

Just curious how three non-talented people were chosen to be judges for a million dollar prize?

Posted by: Larry | July 27, 2006 03:19 AM

Mr. H:
Please let us know by which qualitative standard Granny's purported "talent" is superior to that of Bianca? I am gravely disappointed.
Granny is a cute and novel act, but, as your peer from the Big Isle is so quick to remind us, this is a "TALENT" competition.
Slap yourselves.

Posted by: John Humphrey | July 27, 2006 03:19 AM

David,

I love the show. My favorite is the rappin' granny. By the way you all chose tonight i know i'm not alone. your friend, jamison

Posted by: Jamison | July 27, 2006 03:19 AM

Thanks for taking 1 more thing off my to do list, watching your show.

Once again NBC has found a way to make a good ideal a flop.

Picking the raping granny over the 4 or 5 better acts shows that you are not in
this to showcase talent.

I guess you guys will make Leno's show tonight, at lease I'll get a laugh out of your final show for me.

Posted by: garrett | July 27, 2006 03:20 AM

I think I lost all interest in this show tonight. And it isnt because you picked the rapping granny. I don't even think anyone will read this comment...but the contact us button is confusing.

i feel like this show isnt about talent at all...but rather a minimalistic view of three people's opinions of talent.

whats the point in voting really? when the votes will only choose one person or act?

i think this show is afraid of things outside the norm when really it should just realize talent for what it is.

what kind of comment is.." i cant pass you, its not my thing?"

im done watching this show.
and i think brandy is just pissed because moesha got canceled.

Posted by: Brittney | July 27, 2006 03:20 AM

I got online to vote for rapping granny but you all didn't have her on the list .WHY?

Posted by: Judy | July 27, 2006 03:20 AM

Bianca - how awesome, and the judges must have gone to sleep. Come on everyone, vote for Bianca - she rocks!!

Posted by: KLB | July 27, 2006 03:20 AM

hey David..I absolutely LOVED rapping granny! I am so happy that the judges picked her. I can't wait to see her in the finale! I am so watching her again. I will never get tired of rapping Granny. She was totally awesome and rad. She is sooo cool. I can't wait to hear her rap again. I am not kidding. Me and my mom LOVED her. That's all for now.

Just can't believe you guys picked granny over Bianca. That girl has one of the best voices I have ever heard. I am done with your show.

Posted by: glennj | July 27, 2006 03:20 AM

And I thought Piers knew talent. Rapping Granny is a sideshow act and is not worth $500 much less a $1,000,000. The 12 year old girl has far more talent. The magician that popped up behind the judges reminds me of Lance Burton (who did a similar routine) and Burton is world-class. The judges lost all of their creditability in my eyes tonight. My pick to go all the way is Taylor Ware (and the judges didn't get that right either - the harmonica player is just a noise maker). Taylor has stage presence and command of her talent - I bet the judges wish they themselves had that too.

Posted by: stu | July 27, 2006 03:20 AM

There is only one way to sum up tonight's show...THE RAPPING GRANNY SUCKED REALLY REALLY BADLY!! CAN ANYONE SAY AFFIRMATIVE ACTION?!

Posted by: D | July 27, 2006 03:21 AM

Hey David.

I've been a big fan of this show since day one. It's funny and the acts are good. The rapping granny makes me laugh, I'm glad she got in. Keep the Hoff alive!

Bailey.

Posted by: Bailey | July 27, 2006 03:21 AM

As Pierce ramarked,"This is not American Idol". I couldnt agree more. With the results of the judges votes tonight, I cant watch this with the enthusiasm that is given to American Idol. With contestants that could rival David Copperfield or the next Leann Rymes, The judges choose "Rappin Granny"! Are you kidding me! This show and its judges has lost all credability with the American Audience. What value will come to promoters, producers or the industry by passing through an act that has no talent worth other than novalty. The show that started off with a fresh idea has just closed the curtain on a second season. I cant watch it thinking that one of these talents has a chance to become a star based off the recognition of the judges. If I were the Millers, I would void the contract I signed with these clowns to appear on this show. Too Bad.

You have got to be kidding!!! A mediocre at best Rappin Granny, who has not got the potential to become a star nor the talent over Bianca. This kid has more talent in her little finger than the entire line up for the entire show. The talent it there, the drive is there, the stage presence is there. She's the total package. Could she have picked a better song, maybe. Even with that, she blew away everyone else. Very poor choice. I was hoping that the judges would vote on talent and potential. Tonight's vote showed that it's not about talent and potential and who deserves the million. It's about mediocre novelty acts.
I';m truly disappointed in the three judges. I just can't believe it. Realis last week and Rappin Granny this week. What were you guys on when you made these your best picks?

Posted by: Marilyn | July 27, 2006 03:23 AM

Did everyone rewind their tivo and see the magician escape from the box through the staircase?

Also Bianca Ryan is a born talent - a million dollar voice.
The rappin granny is just a stunt. America please give Bianca the chance she deserves!!

Posted by: Have ears and eyes | July 27, 2006 03:23 AM

I am sorry the judges didn't recognize Bianca's choice to show her range by doing Janice Joplin. Does anybody know anyone who has EVER hit her sound and range? A female vocalist - without just screeching it out? Biana did. I would love to hear that little girl do a serious Tina Turner song.

Posted by: Rachael | July 27, 2006 03:23 AM

It's believable that rapping granny was the judges choice tonight out of the talent that was shown! Come on Piers, you of all the judges keep stating that you are "supposedly" looking for an act that could go somewhere. Do the three of you actually think that the rapping granny could really become a real act??? How about giving some of these young people a chance at a real and productive career. Please keep in mind the very thing that you yourselves are telling the contestants on your show when you are judging the remaining talent. By choosing to pass through the rapping granny you've just eliminated a potential new star for the world to see and enjoy.

Posted by: Paul | July 27, 2006 03:24 AM

I cannot believe that you put through Rappin Granny. What a joke. There is something really wrong with this show.

Posted by: Jeff | July 27, 2006 03:24 AM

My family and I cannot believe that you 3 put the Rappin Granny through to the next round. I can't believe we have to sit through another show with her in it. That was a rediculous pick. Yes, she's nice but not a million dollar TALENT! Personally, I wish rap would fade away forever!

Posted by: RDelaware | July 27, 2006 03:25 AM

Voting the Rapping Granny in was a joke, why in the world would you judges do that? No way she was the most talented tonight. Sad. Especially since all I have been hearing since the semi finals from you judges is the comparison of the ones you did not choose were not of the same caliber as ones you chose the past several weeks. Lets be real, do you really think the rapping granny has a chance against the likes of "all that", "Realis", and "The Millers" just to name a few. What is the matter with you three or was this just a "pity" vote in or was she just chosen so you'd have someone to through out during the finals? I am very upset and disappointed at the choice you three made tonight hoping you would have chosen one of the two I feel truly qualified for the spot i.e. Nathan Burton (blew me away) and Bianca Ryan (Power house with so much more to give).

Posted by: Karen | July 27, 2006 03:25 AM

I really like the show, and I loved the magician that appeared behind the judges (he should of gotten in!), but the Raping Granny had no talent. I think it was a pity vote because she's old. If a young person came in with the exact same talent, s/he would get booed off the stage. I could hardly tell what she was saying, except for her saying to kneel over and over. She was just yelling and trying to rhyme! I am really surprised that she made it to the second round, and way more surprised that she got put through again! The show's called 'America's Got Talent', but Granny doesn't.

Posted by: Elizabeth | July 27, 2006 03:25 AM

I agree with some of you about "Granny". I understood about 3 words she said. Of course, with rap that's usually the way it is. Keep voicing your opinions , but please, learn how to spell and use english for goodness sakes. Just use your voting rights, and vote. I did.

Posted by: P. Stewart | July 27, 2006 03:26 AM

I think the judges have made a serious error in judgment by picking Rappin' Granny when there were many other acts with real talent on tonight's show. In my opinion you three have done a real injustice to those talented people and the judging panel owes them all an apology. How in the world could you guys pick Rappin' Granny over any of the others? You must have seen or heard something I didn't.

Posted by: James Johnson | July 27, 2006 03:26 AM

David,
What's up with the judges choice tonight? I don't understand how you all could have picked the least talented act of the night. The panel keeps telling the contestants to try harder and then you all pass over really talented acts and pick a no-rappin rapper. Everyone in the house here was SHOCKED! by your pick. The stilt girl that fell has 10 times more talent than the no-rapper grandma. This sure as heck isn't a million dollar act! I wouldn't pay $1 for her first CD(or any other one).

Posted by: David H | July 27, 2006 03:28 AM

Rappin' Granny was good but not as good as the magician that showed up in the audience after his picture was shot out of a cannon. As for Bianca Ryan..OMG...she was awful. Screaming and yelling - one of the worst performances I've seen EVER and I've seen alot of them. I'm not saying she doesn't have talent but she needs to get someone behind her to advise her on the types of songs she needs to choose.

Overall tonights show was mediocre. The magician should have been moved on instead of the Rappin' Granny but that's showbiz folks!

Posted by: Janet | July 27, 2006 03:28 AM

Wow, I really think that Nathan Burton was amazing, he was by far the best act of the night. Rapping Granny was okay, but he was MUCH better. Bianca wasn't nearly as good as she was last time. Some of these acts should not have gotten through AT ALL. That one guy that wore pink when he got voted off and way too much eye make up was completely aweful, thank goodness you didn't let him through. And, that Kenny Shelton WAS HORRIBLE. He has no talent what so ever. You should have learned when he was dropping all of his stuff the first time he was on. My goodness, who lets such horrible 'talent' through? Honestly.

Posted by: Katrinna | July 27, 2006 03:28 AM

David, you are the nicest funniest and sweetest judge on the show. Thank you, keep it up i really enjoy watching you.

Posted by: Joanna | July 27, 2006 03:28 AM

You Judges are inconsistent and a joke. One minute you are telling acts they have to be worthy of winning a million dollars and raise the bar and the nect you pick rappin granny? Even your advice to the acts changes from show to show. You guys told Ten13Concept that they needed more horns after their first performance and then complain about the horns during the second performance. Rappin granny was one of the worst acts tonight.

Posted by: Neil | July 27, 2006 03:29 AM

With all of the real talent on the show how could you guys pick the granny, that stuff takes no talent. Get real and vote for the ones with real talent.Disgusting.Dont know if i will watch any more of the shows.

Posted by: Gene Goodale | July 27, 2006 03:29 AM

Dear God, Please tell me those dumbass judges were being threatned, by crappin grannys family, and thats why they passed her thru!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: chris | July 27, 2006 03:29 AM

I think that Bianca has a fantastic voice, her song was definately NOT right for her, but she can sing....The magician Burton was very talented....they both deserve to go on.....but........why did you chose "THE RAPPING GRANNY"?????? she is not talented enough for a million dollar prize....she is more of a novelty act..but it was your choice....I've enjoyed the show....Keep Piers in line.

Posted by: Bailey Myers | July 27, 2006 03:31 AM

voting granny terrible!!! acrodunk great illutionist great bianca great. anyone of those could of gone through what were you thinking

Posted by: liz | July 27, 2006 03:31 AM

Hey! I like you best in your black leather jacket, although you did look very distinguished during tonight's show! Out of all the judges, I agree with you the most, however, I do not feel that Rappin' Granny displayed the most talent! Spunk, yes, kudos to someone of her age, but in my eyes, Nathan Burton exhibited the most remarkable talent, while the Acrodunk Team was most diversified. Thanks for taking part in this show! We look forward to the finals!!!

Posted by: Dtessy | July 27, 2006 03:31 AM

Piers seems to be the one with the best advice for the entertainers even though at times he drives me nuts.

WILL THE PERSON FROM SLOVINIA PLEASE CONTACT ME!!!

David Hasselhoff, what is with your hair? Is that way the German's wear it?

Posted by: Anonymous | July 27, 2006 03:31 AM

Bianca is undoubtedly the most natural, gifted, talented person on the show. She is fantastic now at such a young age and will no doubt be a humungus talent as she ages. A real talent and breath of fresh air for all to enjoy now and always.

Posted by: Terry Connelly | July 27, 2006 03:31 AM

HEllo quit talking down the granny...shes so not the worst act to grace the stage I like her and bianca will most likely get viewers choice anyway...

Posted by: aly | July 27, 2006 03:32 AM

I was so disappointed in judging tonight. Granny had 73 years to practice, and anyone can see that Bianca passed her by age 2. What were you thinking? Comedy act or talent? I feel like crying for the little girl who got cheated tonight.

Posted by: Varona | July 27, 2006 03:33 AM

Happy to see others are behind Bianca Ryan. My votes are in, but I could only call 4 times on the phone, the lines were busy. I hope that is a good sign. I had to finish voting online. I hope they without online capabilities don't give up trying to get votes for NUMBER 8 submitted. NBC, that is for you!

Posted by: Rachael | July 27, 2006 03:34 AM

Judges, just for your information, a talent, according to The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, 4th Ed. is 1. a marked innate ability, as for artistic accomplishment or 2. natural endowment or ability of a superior quality. Rappin' Granny merely recites poetry (something anyone can do) without innate or natural ability and certainly without superior quality. I'm through with this farce!!! Bianca is great - this young lady can sing!!!!!!

Posted by: Pam | July 27, 2006 03:35 AM

What on earth would justify picking Rappin Granny for the final??? I will admit I am not a fan of rap. But three years from now would you see yourself paying $15.00 for a Rappin Granny CD
or a Bianca Ryan CD. Bianca clearly showed the most talent in today's show. As with most of these shows novelty wins over talent. If Ryan doesn't make it in the fan voting this show is a joke. That girl can flat sing!!!!!

Posted by: Jerry | July 27, 2006 03:35 AM

Are you kidding me? A RAPPIN GRANNY? These judges have lost their minds. Do you think Simon Cowell would have put this lady through with such a talent in the wings like Briana? Someone needs to speak to the "producer" (and we know who that is) to instruct his employees to do the right thing. Keep the bullcrap where it belongs. America is not as stupid as these producers seem to think they are. If that girl doesn't get through (and I voted for her) then this is one person who will no longer watch the show and will instruct everyone she knows to do the same. I am appauled! Not to say that a rappin Granny isn't cute but ANYONE CAN DO WHAT SHE'S DOING. Please fix this or you have lost a fan.

Posted by: Denise | July 27, 2006 03:35 AM

How can the talent (or lack of) of the "Rappin' Granny" even be compared to that of The Millers, Taylor Ware, etc? She is not even in the same ballpark... even the same planet!

Posted by: Bryan | July 27, 2006 03:36 AM

Biana Ryan can only get the popular vote IF people can get through without giving up on the busy signal. So, we know voters are trying to get through, BUT CAN THEY? That would be a cheated contestant!

Posted by: Rachael | July 27, 2006 03:36 AM

Forgot to say that I love the show and you can email me at rbtcnt@adelphia.net

Posted by: coma1028 | July 27, 2006 03:36 AM

I appreciate the uniqueness of Rapping Granny, but I do not feel that her "talent" overshadowed the other talent presented tonight. I was shocked that Bianca or the Magician were not granted to continue on. I pray that America is smart enough to make a better pick.

Posted by: Mark Albright | July 27, 2006 03:38 AM

BIANCA IS NUMBER ONE
SHE PUT EVERYONE ELSE TO SHAME. AFTER ALL THIS IS A TALENT SHOW , NOT A TRICK SHOW

Posted by: SLONON | July 27, 2006 03:39 AM

David, I'm just shocked that you guys didn't pick Bianca Ryan. And not saying Rappin granny was bad, but just think about it, how far can she take this without it being played-out?! Bianca could take her voice in so many different directions. And remember, she is doing all of this with being only 11 yrs old. I just can't believe it...

Posted by: Kerry | July 27, 2006 03:40 AM

It was so disappointing that you picked someone with no talent, only a - (I don't really know what to call her-)when there were 2 precious girls on there that had real talent and were so good. I hope you are more careful next time around.

Posted by: Hannah | July 27, 2006 03:40 AM

Any way we can VETO the judge's vote? Maybe we can impeach them!

Posted by: Joe | July 27, 2006 03:41 AM

I'm so glad to see by all the comments posted already, I'm not the only one who is so disappointed in the judges tonight. Rappin' Granny is cute and somewhat entertaining, but "talented" and worth $1mil??? Not a chance!!!
And to be picked as the "best talent" tonight just had me hop right out of my chair in disgust.
As you all have said before, the idea behind your judging was to look for something spectacular and "talented".
Please, don't lose sight of what this show is supposed to be about. It's about finding "real, true," talent with a future.
Manno

Posted by: Manno | July 27, 2006 03:41 AM

Sorry, judges, you blew it. Bianca has more "talent" in her pinky than "Rappin Granny" has in her entire body. Her rendition of "Piece of my Heart" was amazing, perhaps the 3 judges are just too young to remember Joplin, and so you could not appreciate her incredible performance. Remember the show is "America's Got TALENT"!!! I now have no faith in your judgement, judges. Brandy, I loved you in Cinderella, and David, your were quite fine in "Jekyl and Hyde", and so I am very sorry to say that I lost faith in your judgement, as you both have come such a long way. Piers, I just read your bio,and I still can't figure out how you got this gig! Perhaps that is YOUR special talent!>!>?!

Posted by: Joanne Theodorou | July 27, 2006 03:43 AM

Quoteth Piers "Are you bonkers"? Great show but terribly wrong judges' choice. There only a couple of acts aside remnants from a polluted sewer you picked.Nathan was a 6-star out of 5 stars. I've seen Copperfield,Siegfried & Roy,Henning in action but this at was really over your head and surprised everyone.

Posted by: Patrick | July 27, 2006 03:43 AM

i have to agree with most of the comments here---granny has no talent!!!!! very disappointing that we even had to see her again tonite with all the talent that was still in the audience. i think you all missed the real talent in the stilt danceing and the basket ball guys. i think if either of these two groups dont make it on agt they have enough going for them to still go further with their shows. i also agree with the poor job of the camara people. i would love to see all of one show and not the audience.

Posted by: barbara | July 27, 2006 03:49 AM

You guys said that Bianca did not hit the mark like she did the first time around. I beg the differ! She just proved tonight that her talent if varied and there is nothing that she can not sing. She did in fact do an excellent job with Ms. Joplins song. Not one thing wrong with how she did it. And frankly, her clothes either time don't really matter. She was dressed like a young lady. You could put her in a overalls or a bathrobe and it will not change the fact that child has a God given talent. Besides when an agent signs her, and they will, they will dress her how they like anyway, so now really does not count. Just don't turn her into another trashey Spears.

Posted by: One more thing | July 27, 2006 03:50 AM

The Rappin' Granny was voted through?! How ridiculous! Isn't this a talent show?? Why wasn't Bianca voted through? That child has REAL talent.

Posted by: Dianne | July 27, 2006 03:51 AM

I judged my first talent contest in 1969. I have heard and seen many good acts. However, you really blew it with Bianca. I have never heard any 11 year old sing incredible blues, much less Janice Joplin like her! She truly has the most gifted and versitile voice that I have ever heard fof anyone under the age of 15! (and better that all but a few over the age of 15) It is a shame that in your opinion, that real versility of talent in singing was replaced by an average rapper, even if she has 3 great grandchildren. This is a talent show, not a this really makes me like it show.

Posted by: woretree | July 27, 2006 03:53 AM

I can't believe you picked the rapping granny!! She is absolutely one of the worst ever!
The magician or Bianca were far more talented than that lady - GIVE US A BREAK! I agree Bianca needed to pick a better song; she was better last time, but she has a wonderful voice. I thought this competition was about TALENT! Don't think my statement is because the granny is old - because I am a senior citizen also.

Posted by: Linda | July 27, 2006 03:54 AM

Even IF Biana does not win this contest, I suspect there are a bevy of producers out there who have already approached her Father to talk about her future. I know we are going to be listening to her down the road. I know who I wish would take her on.

Posted by: Rachael | July 27, 2006 03:55 AM

Rappin Granny??? She's an adorable novelty act, but she was hard to under stand and seemed to just screem. Bianca and Nathan have true TALENT!!! Granny I love you, but you ain't got talent like that!

Posted by: Patty Cake | July 27, 2006 03:57 AM

When did you become "The Hoff"? Lol.

Posted by: Dave Cole | July 27, 2006 03:57 AM

Hi David--I am shocked!-Rapping Granny was sweet and unusual--but a million dollar shot?? Bianca,Bianca,Bianca--and thats' all I have to say about that.

Posted by: Deborah | July 27, 2006 04:00 AM

Can someone post the toll free number for Bianca, I did not get it

Posted by: Larry | July 27, 2006 04:01 AM

I agree with alot of stuff that people have been saying. First of all, Rappin Granny wasn't all that. There was so much more talant there tonight than that.Secondly, Piers is the only one that tells it like it is. You do sometimes but not enough. Brandy is way to nice to be on this show. I know that you guys are doing your best at picking the person that stays. But please do not leave us hang like you did last week. It is hard for us to decide who to vote for too. With you all telling us your vote. That helps up vote for our second choice. For example, Say I liked The Rappin Granny and Nathan. If I voted for the Rappin Granny and the next night you guys put her though then I just cheated Nathan out of my votes cause they were wasted on someone that didn't need them. Understand. Thanks for taking the time to listen to all your fans. Take care!

Posted by: Crystal | July 27, 2006 04:01 AM

I agreed with most of your comments on tonight's show, but did you seriously think that Rappin' Granny was the best?? I think not! Out of the 10 acts that performed, I'd put her 9th at best. These are the semi-finals, and we need much more talent than that to advance to the finale. I've used all of my votes to try to get Nathan advanced to the final and I hope everyone reading this does the same. He was leaps and bounds ahead of everybody else...

Posted by: BJ | July 27, 2006 04:02 AM

Dave, first off im a night rider fan never missing a show! I have to say the little girl Bianca should definitly win she is fantastic !! I hope there was talent scouts watching so they can make her a star. I recorded this show and the #1 part watched over and over was Bianca. She has my daughter singing every night now. without a dought this little girl should win. sorry to say rappin grandma should stay home and just be grandma. thats my oppinion and my faimlys. Yours Truley Lori

Posted by: Lori | July 27, 2006 04:04 AM

Hey There!
I was watching the show tonight, and I was bummed that Nathan the magician was not picked. He is amazing, and his act is definately worth a million dollars. Maybe America will pick him?
I think you do a great job as a judge and are honest but not brutal when you are talking to the contestants.
Peace
Karen

Posted by: Karen | July 27, 2006 04:04 AM

I am so disappointed that the Judges didn't let America pick the 2nd best. We all know Bianca will win America's vote, no worries there but it should have been up to America to pick the 2nd best, not you even if it meant a less entertaining show.

Posted by: Syl | July 27, 2006 04:05 AM

Judges you are either brain damaged, or tone deaf or maybe you are to self concided from listening to to much of your own self singing, you are to old or to young to appreciate Janis Joplin, Bianca was wonderful tonight and sang her heart out and sounded awesome, that girl did a wonderful job with her song and if anything you should have gave her much more praise and credit for trying such a song as she preformed tonight, you are the losers and Bianca is the winner in my book,

Posted by: Paul | July 27, 2006 04:07 AM

Bianca's number is....crap I lost it! Any one need Josh Blues number for last comic standing? I
ll keep loking for Bianca's number But I know it was U love "07"

Go Bianca GO!

Posted by: Patty cake | July 27, 2006 04:07 AM

I suppose it was for publicity. Sure, it will work, you'll get in all the talk show jokes, but it is disappointing that you did not keep real talent instead of a gimmick act. One thing if random voters call in for a goof-ball act, but as judges, you are supposed to have more sense and credibility. Especially at this level of the competition. I hope the ratings go down as a result, though I won't really be surprised if the publicity stunt works. Again, simply very disappointing.

Posted by: Glass | July 27, 2006 04:08 AM

Bianca didn't do her best with her song selection, but she is hands down the best in this competition!

Posted by: B | July 27, 2006 04:08 AM

The Rapping Granny did suck. She's not even funny. Grannies rapping has been done. She no more than a rip off artist. There's a rapping granny in Adam Sandler's Wedding Singer. She was way better, lol. The Acrobatic Dunkers we're the shit, and so was the Magician. I could see through that magician though. He totally snuck out from behind that cage. Those hands we're fake, and he was transported out by that big ass stair case. Didn't you guys see that the front was open before, and then closed later? You could tell that guy who was pushing it was pushing something heavy too. It was cool that he popped out from behind the judges though.

Posted by: Dave Cole | July 27, 2006 04:11 AM

RAPPIN GRANNY geeeezzzzzz are you guys nuts where in the hell do you think this woman can go and get a record contract or even concert for her so called talent. im so dammm dissapointed that you let an old black woman sway you from a young and very talented even though if i had been her father she would not have song the song she did who actually has a life in the music business. you guys really sucked tonight :(

Posted by: mark | July 27, 2006 04:12 AM

Hello, My husband and I both love the show, but were dumbfounded with your choice tonight. What were you thinking? America's Got TALENT, is the name of the show! A younger person, doing the same act as Rappin Granny, would never have been on the show, peroid! How could you ignore the huge talent of Bianca Ryan, or that of Nathan Barton? I truely hope that America votes Bianca into the finals or I am afraid our interest in the show will be greatly diminished and I very much doubt that we will continue to watch the show. This show is supposed to be about TALENT, not so-so novelty acts. VERY DISSAPPOINTING!!!
Paula and Dan Goulet

Hey you guys do a good job at picking the right people. I wanted Taylor Ware to get through and she did!!!! And also Nathin! I loved yours and Brandy's face when he poped out of no where! How did he do that!! I have watched every single epasode and will continue that. And if i am gone i will tvo it!!!

Posted by: Katie | July 27, 2006 04:14 AM

Hi David,

Great show tonight!I was a little surprised about "Rappin Granny". I mean She is entertaining,but...there were better acts. Bianca for example.
To Crystal...did you see last week's show? Brandy was pretty tough!

Thanks,

hi david! I love the show, and you're right. It is really hard to choose! My mom and I are always arguing about who should go through, but do agree on some of them.lol So anyways, after the show tonight, they said that people could see when you guys come to the nearest town? Can you help me on finding that? Well, gotta go. Again, I love the show!

Rappin' Granny????? She's okay but I think I could even make my voice rough and sing what she does! I was MUCH more entertained by Team Acrodunk and Nathan Barton. I see more in there future than Granny's future. I'd spend money for them long before I would on her. That's just my opinion.

Posted by: Lisa | July 27, 2006 04:23 AM

Bianca! Sing what you want honey!!! You put the others to shame. Just don't get trashy like Spears when you get older!!!

Posted by: PC | July 27, 2006 04:23 AM

I can't believe you guys voted to put rapin granny through!!! Is this a NON talent show?? The 2 acts that should be going on to the next level should be BIANCA RYAN & NATHAN BURTON. Last week Brandy tore into the 3 teenage girls because they didn't dress their age, yet did she see what barely 12 year old Caitlyn wore? Does any of the judges know what a "Ska Band" is? Ten 13 Concept is a ska band and that is how the horns are supposed to sound like. This is what the kids are listening too now. The judges need to get their heads out of their butts and look around at what the new trends are. You guys don't know talent. Just look at Hasslehoff on the Berlin wall, you should have been arrested by the fashion police. Brandy, well what can I say your show Moisha got canceled. Pears you were the only honest one and you sold your self out. If you guys don't fix this and nix granny why should I waste my time watching your show.

Posted by: karen | July 27, 2006 04:28 AM

I thought The magician Burton was great(even though I saw how it was done, using the stairs). I know tonight definately was not Bianca's night, but she has alot of talent at her age. I am very disappointed in the judges pick. The only reason I could think that they would pick Granny is that she is comical and very brave. They knew that Granny had no chance getting through so they had to put her through. But I ask you, Is this A Comedy Show? Or even the American Idol Show? NO!! This is the America's Got TALENT Show!!! Magician Burton is the Talent! Hope the judges soon wake up and realize this!

Posted by: Melody | July 27, 2006 04:31 AM

My daughter convinced me to watch your show, because of Bianca Ryan, and what a talent! Imagine my surprise when you chose rappin Granny!
Are you really looking for talent? If so, you had your blinders on and ear plugs in.....! Maybe your next show should be America Picks New Judges. It doesn't matter, I won't watch either of them.

What part about voting in a "politically correct color" act are the three judges guilty of? The Granny was cute, but she is NOT a sustainable talent that America wants to see for years and years. This is NOT Louis Armstrong. Rapping is old. Look at Taylor Ware. At Last, Bianca, etc. I guess you have to make mistakes to keep the show and the viewers going.

Bad move to all of you.

How freekin deaf r the judges. Rap Granny has no voice at all, she skreetches and it is painluf to watch!

Vote for BIANCA RYAN and new judges!

Posted by: Miranda | July 27, 2006 04:38 AM

I couldn't understand anything Rappin' Granny said, she was funny, but, I'm sorry, not talented. It was a bunch of noise!! Little "B" is the pick for me!

Posted by: Say What? | July 27, 2006 04:43 AM

Someone PLEASE give Bianca the million dollars so she can spend her money on refining that voice, if she wants to; I'd like to give her $15 for her 1st CD! For her father: don't you worry about this silly contest and the million {although it would be nice} I'm sure with a voice like that Bianca will have several millions very soon. If I were a real talent scout, I would already have my pen out. That first song would have been hard to top in anybody's book. All the child did was show the world she has range, stage presence and can throw that voice. You owned that first song, though, girl...YOU GO GIRL

CHECK OUT Ten 13 Concept at MySpace.com THAT IS TALENT!!
granny stinks

OK -- I've never posted in reply to a blog before -- so allow me a few thoughts...

While the show is obviously a hit, I think we've got to remember that it is still in its infancy stage, trying very hard not to be a clone of American Idol or a rehashed Gong Show, and its in need of a few tweaks...

It seems as if, in the beginning, the judges were being too nice... The X's were flying fast and furious when there were truly bad acts -- but some questionable talent made it through...

I think that, while the focus of the show is finding talent, we, as an audience and potential consumer of that talent, need to realize the pure novelty of some acts that are extremely talented...

Bobby Badfingers -- great -- loved him -- talented -- novelty act...

Dog Trainer -- good -- liked him -- talented -- novelty act...

And -- people aren't going to like this one -- Taylor Ware... Yes, she's incredibly talented and I can understand why she won the people's vote... But, to be really honest, while she may go onto great things in life (and I hope she does get everything she's ever dreamed of), yodeling is going to appeal to a very narrow population and there are very few avenues for that type of talent -- but she does have the ability to engage the audience... From that show, I would rather have seen the cloggers go through... Again, another act that doesn't appeal to a lot of people in the beginning -- until you realize that they were clogging to hip-hop music... I thought they showed more versatility...

David, I do hope you're back on the show for the sole reason that you seem to understand that fine line between being brutally honest and giving sincere constructive criticism... While Piers has some good points at times, and Brandi (at least in the beginning) just never saw an act she didn't like, you have found that happy medium... You compliment what is good about the act (when there is good), and, when necessary, critique what is bad without being cruel and then offer encouragement... That, in my opinion, is the essence of being a good judge...

Bravo, David -- job well done.

Been reading everyones posts for an hour now. Seems The Hoff's Blog space has turned into Bianca's Fan Club Sounding Board! And well It should be! You all are right! Granny is fun, but not talent. The Stilt People were a little weird, but at least entertaining, and ten 13 concept is going places. Nathan...FABULOUS! Kenny, a little scarry. Everyones post's are great and I hope the folks at NBC are reading tonite. What hapened to your judges tonight?? Were they drinking Kenny's lighter fluid??

Posted by: Patty Cake | July 27, 2006 04:59 AM

I have to agree with other commenters - I'm completely stunned at the inexplicable choice of the judges of "rappin granny" over the clearly astounding and unmatched talent of Bianca Ryan. I liked Bianca's first choice better, too - but even so, her talent still showed through very clearly, tonight. How could the judges not pick her and still expect to be taken seriously? Sorry - but for me, all three judges lost a lot of credibility tonight...

Posted by: Matthew | July 27, 2006 05:00 AM

Any chance YOU will sing on the show?

Posted by: Heather | July 27, 2006 05:03 AM

I agree. I was completely stunned by them choosing "Rappin Granny"....sheesh.

Posted by: Heather | July 27, 2006 05:04 AM

Well, I was all set to come on here and complain about the sideshow act called the Rappin' Granny and what did I find, but a lot of complaining...NBC does it again! I liked Bianca, even with her poor choice of music, but I have been a fan of magic since before I could talk. The magician gets my vote. There are too many singers right now...but not enough real talent...

Posted by: Anonymous | July 27, 2006 05:05 AM

I only watched the second half, but found at least two acts I particularly enjoyed. What is amusing to me is how Regis behaves. If you've ever watched Regis and Kelly (or even if you go back as far as Regis and Kathy Lee) well, you know that Regis can be very opinionated himself. He is very mild mannered on this show and even his reaction to Leonid (Leonid's first appearance) makes me wonder what they did with the real Regis and why they chose to replace him with a robot. Anyway, I did not care for Rappin' Granny the first time she appeared, too much screaming--an to whomever made the comment about the Rappin' Granny from "The Wedding Singer" you're correct, she was definitely better then this one. Whether it was a pity vote or to just move up a potential last placer (so the other acts don't have to try nearly as hard), well, we'll probably never know. Piers is the guy we love to hate, simlar to Simon from AI, but he does have an eye for talent. I know I'll get lambasted for this, but Bianca, well, I do not care for her singing, she whines, mumbles and slurs too many of her words. When someone sings I like to understand the words they are singing--enunciation is a great thing. But then I look at things this way, Piers is from across the pond, Brandy, while she has not gone the way of many of her counterparts (for which I am grateful--thank you Brandy for keeping youself modest and a good role model for young girls)has not had a major success recently and well, I love Knight Rider as a kid, but Baywatch got a little beyond me (plus where I lived during its run didn't pick it up) and well if David was such a terrific singer, why isn't he popular here in the States? I mean he is popular in Germany not here. Anyway, I just had to get all of that out. To the person who likes the quick change artists, I thought they were waaaaayyyyy cool too!!! I am not sure who should win, I think they let through questionable talent, and passed over better talent, but then I am not there judging, making big money being on prime time tv... So I guess that tells you who is more important then doesn't it?

Posted by: B-Jo | July 27, 2006 05:06 AM

I think that the judges or at least the Judge Pier is off beat in his opinion of Bianca Ryan. She has proven to the world that she is a very taltented singer and very versatile as well. He made his decision of Rappin Grandma using the audiance as a guage to rate her performance, why did he not do the same for Bianca? I agree that I would like her to continue being cute and innocent but the girl is very talented and I don't think that she should have to conceal it to get recognition. I don't think that clothes should play a role in her talent either.

Posted by: Alexxander | July 27, 2006 05:11 AM

With tonight's Rappin' Granny pick (a real sweet lady, but no where near the caliber of talent of the other performers), it has become even more painfully obvious that it's three HAVE-NO-TALENT and WOULDN'T-RECOGNIZE-TALENT-IF-IT-BIT-THEM-IN-THE-ASS JUDGES who run this show. Brandy is a minimally-able, can't-quite-make-it-to-the-real-show pseudo-personality, Hasselhoff has been washed-up since Baywatch and who the hell is that British twit anyway? (Since when is being British recognized as a talent?) Let's get three new judges. I recommend Mr. Magoo, Lassie and Mrs. Potato Head.

On behalf of the three nitwits behind the desk, I apologize to Bianca Ryan and Nathan Burton, both of whom should be in the finals and either one of whom has infinitely more talent than all three judges combined!

Posted by: ratman | July 27, 2006 05:17 AM

You can't be serious, Rappin Grandma ? Definitly shows the judges have no idea what talent is. First and only time I'll watch.

Posted by: Steve | July 27, 2006 05:19 AM

i hope you guys are really embarassed for putting the grannie forward its absurd at best. im do dammm mad that you didnt put a true talent up now i have to hope the idiot faction of america doesnt put some other worthless act like nathan in geeeezzzzzz thanks guys

Posted by: mark | July 27, 2006 05:20 AM

All I can say is "ditto" to the above comments about the rappin granny - yes the rappin granny from the wedding singer was much better. I think that the magician and Bianca had far more talent but unfortunately one of them will not get in. I won't miss Project Runway for this show again.

Posted by: Terri | July 27, 2006 05:24 AM

this is the last week night i will waste watching this crappy show! since the first episode i assumed that the million dollar prize would go to someone that had talent or potential. i guess i was wrong if the so-called experts on the panel, consider granny to be a talented act. re-watch the show judges!

Posted by: Chuck | July 27, 2006 05:39 AM

Hi, David, I really enjoy your comments. I, like many others, wonder how the judges pick their choice, and according to blogs, nobody is happy with the picks. I think I got it. The judges don't pick the talent they think is best; they leave that to the audience. I think the judges pick a performance that isn't really a challenge to the real talent, betting that the audience will do that. Piers said of Bianca that she could win the contest. Let's see if she gets the vote from the audience. So, folks, ease up. It's show business.

Posted by: Alice | July 27, 2006 05:48 AM

Do the right thing, retract your pick for tonight, any of the other acts was better than what you morons picked, Including one's that didn't even make it on stage.

Posted by: christi | July 27, 2006 05:57 AM

I have to agree with rest of the fans comments. I'am huge fan of the show and I was also sooo... dissappointed with the judges choice tonight. You three judges keep saying that the semi-finalist must be extra talented.
The granny, notice I said "GRANNY" b-cuz that is all she is. She does not know how to Rap... all she was doing was screeming! And when you said that the audience got up when she was "screeming" HELLO !!!! half of the audience is her relatives!!!!
I wonder what Jay-Z would say when you all call her "THE RAPPIN GRANNY"?????? I bet he will be insulted!

NATHAN BURTON was the best of them all. You three judges go back and view the show and see your reaction when he pop from behind. Your faces said it all!
I was at Las Vegas in June and had the pleasure to be at one of Nathan Burton shows. He asked me to participate on one of his acts and he blew my mind with his magic.
He is GREAT!!!

I had all of Houston call in his most deserved votes.
Copperfield watch out NATHAN BUTON IS ON HIS WAY!
BEST OF LUCK NATHAN FROM HOUSTON,TEXAS

Posted by: Diana | July 27, 2006 05:58 AM

Hey everyone!
Everyone is talking about if Pierce can sing or not. So I would like to see all three judges up there doing a trio duet. I think that would be interesting. We all know that Brandi can sing, and David, well, kind of, so I think that would make a great ending to this show.

Posted by: Elizabeth | July 27, 2006 06:08 AM

I couldn't believe that rappin granny got your vote, I think that Nathan Burton was better, and about all the commercials, good grief! One act, commercial, one act, another commercial. I started to fall asleep. But I do like the show

Posted by: Connie | July 27, 2006 06:09 AM

I was very disappointed with the judges selection today!! While cute rappin granny is not worth a million dollars
!! Lets hope the real judges are back for the next show!!!Return to your mothership!!

Posted by: julie lommen | July 27, 2006 06:15 AM

Yeah you'd think as little time as the acts get they could at least do two before airing a commercial.

Posted by: Heather | July 27, 2006 06:15 AM

The Granny was unusual, but not the most talented person on the stage tonight. I think you know she would not get "America's" vote. America will vote for the two most talented acts Nathan Burton and Bianca Ryan. You decided to move the underdog forward to provide some variety to the show. That is the only possible reason to vote for her.

Posted by: Georgia | July 27, 2006 06:23 AM

This show is less about talent and more about hype.
Talent is something that takes a lot of work and practice. Singers are a dime a dozen and way over rated. Show me a singer with a three octave range, sings on key and sings a difficult song and I'll consider that talent. Give me an act that I'd pay $20 and an hour of my time. Rappin Granny...get real...first time;humerous...second time; can she do anything else...third time; get her off the stage. Bunch of one trick ponies. Good acts tonight; The magicians, the juggler, Ten13 Concept(they can play their own music)the violinist. The rest were a waste of time.

Posted by: Steven | July 27, 2006 06:24 AM

Rappin' Granny? WTF? You guys are all on crack if you think she was more talented than Bianca. Funny, entertaining, sure. But Bianca has more talent in her left finger than Granny's got in her whole body... Leave the pipes at home.

Posted by: Rolando | July 27, 2006 06:25 AM

Yeah, so... I love America's Got Talent. I never watched the very very first one, but I watched the rest of them and recorded them onto my TV [a thing my mom's never gotten the hang of.]

I'm always being nagged at home to go on the show next summer and sing, but I'm REALLY shy and I don't think I could do it without wetting myself HAHA [I'm 12. 13 in February]

AND... I have something for Piers!
I think his line or motto or whatever should be "I'm not mean, just brutally honest." I say it all the time when people tell me I'm mean for giving them my opinion, but he can use it because he repetedly says that you're 'getting paid to have thoughts and not just banging on buzzers.'

Thanks for hosting the show David! You rock!
Peace out

Erica, god is an illusion, and Mr Hasselhoff will never email you. Sorry, but that's reality. Good luck with the singing.

Posted by: fillipian | July 27, 2006 06:27 AM

Hi, I loved the show tonight, especially when you cracked me up with the Donald Trump bit, which I didn't think would be funny, but it totally was!
I'm glad you, Brandy and Mr. Morgan chose the rappin'granny, because she was in her element tonight.
I'm also glad you managed to do a little singing during your critique of one of the acts, which sounded better than the guy who sang the same song. Thank you!
Don't listen to those who think you and the other two judges stink, because, honestly, all 3 of you don't stink as judges at all.
I loved that magician guy's act tonight, especially when he'd landed where you were sitting, so I voted for him, along with the dunking basketball act, among others I'd voted for online.
Great show, folks!

Hi David,
I'm a great big fan of yours. I've watched you since Knight Rider, Baywatch and Baywatch Nights. Happy Belated Birthday. I agreed on "Rappin Granny", she is good. But their were other performers were just as good.

Posted by: Debbie | July 27, 2006 06:33 AM

This show was awful! I can't believe these people were in the semi-finals. Rapping Granny you've got to be kidding me? I understand that she is 72 and you admire her, but she is more like the William Hung of your show. She has a lot of heart but is it worth the million? Maybe the show needs her for the ratings????. The best talent you had was Burton the magician and the stilt crew. This show can't be real? I feel I wasted an hour of my time. I kept waiting for it to get better. Won’t be watching it again at most read about it on msn!

Posted by: unknown | July 27, 2006 06:34 AM

I was very disappointed with the Judges decision tonight. I thought it was a politically correct move but Burton was much better. For the most part I agree with the honest comments, I don't see them as negative or hurtful so to see someone like granny win, though she is charming, does not represent the past expertise of the judges decisions.

Posted by: cindy | July 27, 2006 06:38 AM

Uh, why aren't the voting #'s on the website? MAJOR OVERSITE... America - call 866-856-8308 NOW!!! Ten Times!!!

Posted by: again | July 27, 2006 06:45 AM

This show (as with American Idol) is about popularity. And it is probably rigged (like American Idol) You can call and vote all you want but it doesn't matter. It's all about the buzz and hype and ratings. The producers pick their favorite and see to it they are passed to the next stage. Who are we (the viewers) to dispute the results. They can tell us anything they want. The producers can adjust the volume of the music to drown out good or bad performances and they pick the clips played back to make an act look good or bad.

It's pathetic, what passes for entertainment these days.

Posted by: Steven | July 27, 2006 06:46 AM

David -
My wife and I really enjoyed the 1st few episodes of your show. However, these "semi-finals" (shouldn't these 4 shows be called "quarter-finals", then have 2 semi-finals, etc..) have bored us to tears. With tonight's decision to put through the Rappin Granny...well, we are done with watching. Thanks for those 1st few great shows, but you have now lost 2 viewers.

My family and I were watching the show the other week, Rapping Granny was just going to do her performance, then our 51 inch t.v. bulb burnt out on us :( We've waited and waited to see her Rap. I'd like to say; I am pleased with judges decision for tonight's show. Rapping Granny rocked the building, GO! GRANNY! GO! GRANNY! she had everyone on their feet. We were so excited watching tonight. We knew you were going to pick her because you knew the world was going to pick the most #1 talented of them all BIANCA! I love the show, (too many commercials though) can't wait to see next weeks program!

Posted by: Ursula Nelson (Canada B.C.) | July 27, 2006 07:03 AM

This show has become a total farce...GRANNY, more talent than BIANCA, please...have you lost your mind??? I can tell you one thing, if BIANCA does not make the finals, this will be a far bigger tragedy than Taylor winning American Idol(what a joke that was). And you will have 7 fewer viewers as well, as your show will no longer be viewed in my home.

Posted by: Rob | July 27, 2006 07:07 AM

This is the first time I have ever voted for a t.v. show contestant but after seeing the "rapping granny" get picked over the red-head (just because she didnt hit every note of Janis') I had to do my part to put in my votes for the one who should win this entire competition, as long as she continues to perform well(as she has). I'm confident that the viewing public has more sense when it comes to critiquing than Hoff and Brandi so we'll probably see this little girl with a platinum voice once again...if not, I'm done with this show!

Posted by: Jerry Pittman | July 27, 2006 07:10 AM

Does anyone realize they pull those stupid moves to GET you to vote?

Posted by: Mr. Duh | July 27, 2006 07:20 AM

Hi David!!! Loved Knight Rider in the eighties in high school! Anyway, as I have been reading these posts, I figured out why Rappin' Granny was chosen; kind of political, but brilliant none-the-less. The biggest controversy here seems to be that it's Bianca vs. Nathan as to who should have been chosen. If Bianca had gone through as judges' choice, then Nathan would have gone as America's fave, and vice versa. Now that Rappin Granny, who was cute, and very entertaining, was judges' choice, it is truly up to Americans to vote for who they think has superb talent. Again, very brilliant. NBC is truly pulling all the stops out for this show, I think it gets more interesting every week! Glad you are a big part of the successful first season of AGT!

hugs,
Megan

Posted by: Megan | July 27, 2006 07:42 AM

WOW! I can't believe tonight. This is pitiful(the judges). What an embarasment
to America's tastes of talent.

Posted by: mhigiig | July 27, 2006 08:14 AM

i believe nothing

Posted by: carla | July 27, 2006 10:49 AM

How could you three judges, get it so wrong? Affirmative Action, Acrodunk was much better than Rappin Granny, actually 8 contestents were better than the very sweet, but untalented Granny. Have you no eyes to see with, no ears to hear with? You have definetely lost all credibility as judges. We are not all tasteless morons! Cudos to Bianca Ryan a pure talent, who will go very far! I doubt you people will mention how angry the public is with you and the show and how we feel bilked, yet again! CYA A M talentless!

Posted by: Jennifer | July 27, 2006 11:44 AM

you all have to remember. Most of the audience is the Rappin Grannies posse. That's why they get behind her and fear of a race riot is probably why she got voted through. No way she beats out Bianca Ryan or 1013. I doubt she should have been in the top five. Can you say rigged.

Posted by: Keith | July 27, 2006 12:42 PM

how in the world could the three of you pass granny through? I give her credit for her age and trying but bottom line she sucks.this show to me is going down the tube. BIANCA is a great singer. last nights preformance was not the best of songs for her to sing but she is great.please if your truly looking for talent you need to pick the talent not the odd acts.

Posted by: denise daehling | July 27, 2006 12:46 PM

One other thing. On Bianca's first appearance, Piers told her to change the hair, change the dress and change the shoes and she would win this contest. She did that. The little girl went way out of her comfort zone to prove she can extend her range. What did Piers say. He missed her innocence. Can't have it both ways morons.

Posted by: Keith | July 27, 2006 01:01 PM

Here is another thing, if Bianca had to pull down her web site, why does 1013 still have theirs up. God you idiots are really hipocritical. You make the 11 year old pull down her site but let the SKA band continue on as if nothing happened.

Posted by: Anonymous | July 27, 2006 01:10 PM

FRAUD, Piers told Granny immediately after she finished that she was thru to the next round...FRAUD! The show results are made by the producers before it even happens on the taping. These Judges don't know real talent if it hit them in the head. FRAUD

Posted by: VIEWER | July 27, 2006 01:31 PM

If the Producers of this show want to keep it a hit they have to get new JUDGES or at least keep them under control. America wants to watch the talent not what the stupid judges faces. I dont give a dam what the Judges reaction to every little thing is. FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD

Posted by: Viewer | July 27, 2006 01:34 PM

I have only watched this show about 3 times. And after last night I now know why. What talent do the 3 judges have in order to be judging others??? They proved they have no concept of talent when they picked the "Rappin Granny". I mean come on you had just told the
two little girls that sang that you were looking for real talent.

Posted by: Debbie | July 27, 2006 02:23 PM

I can't believe you guys put "Rappin Granny" through. You guys aren't judges. The fact that you guys thought that a rapping old lady had more talent than "Acrodunk" or the magician, or the other acts. I mean come on, get serious. You guys completely blew it.

This is a joke. I also love how you guys constantly keep mentioning "we've got to be more critical in this semifinal round," yet you let a joke of an act like "rappin granny" through without a second thought.

NBC, along with the judging panel, is a complete and utter disappointment.

Posted by: james | July 27, 2006 02:47 PM

Are you guys nuts! All the talent you had last night and you picked someone that their only talent was frown and talk funny? Try actually looking for people that have something that few other people can do, not something stupid!

Posted by: Rob | July 27, 2006 03:00 PM

What the heck were you thinking?

Seriously, the rapping granny was by far the worst choice you could have made. I was seriously angry when I heard Piers reveal your picks and I can't believe how horrible your choice was. I know you can't take it back, but seriously...break the rules and put both Nathan and Bianca through tonight or I will lose the last drop of respect that's left for all three of you.

Posted by: Sam | July 27, 2006 03:18 PM

I cannot believe you all picked the Rapping Granny as the favorite. She is THE least talented person that was on stage. Do you really think someone would buy a CD of rap music by a woman in her 70's?

Posted by: Carol | July 27, 2006 03:22 PM

What a shame about Bianca Ryan. Someone should tell this girl she should show off her God given voice! Not try and emulate a long dead singer, who really couldn't sing very well to begin with. I think Bonnie Raitt would be a great type of music choice for her. She could still show off her powerful voice but also show how well she can sing. The great part is she's got years to learn and perfect her talent. I'm no expert. Just a fan's observation.

Posted by: rickmart61 | July 27, 2006 03:22 PM

Are you kidding me with Rappin Granny. She's adorable but enough is enough. I think the most talented singer is Bianca and if she doesn't make through I am threw with America's got talent.

Posted by: Debbie | July 27, 2006 03:24 PM

Rapping Granny? Come on. It's over for me. If that is what you guys think is talent, then there is no need to watch this show any more.

Posted by: Janet | July 27, 2006 03:25 PM

TEN 13 CONCEPT was the best talent on last nights show. the judges are too old to understand what is good music now days...and hasselhoffs music is NOT good. i really hope they get thru to the next round so the judges will realize that they are a great band!

btw...rappin granny sucks! what a horrible pick from the judges

Posted by: Cari | July 27, 2006 03:34 PM

Rappin Granny is a side-show not a talent show winner. She has no talent and it is ludicrous to suggest that she is in the same league with Bianca, Nathan? (the magician with the showgirls), LD Miller or Realis for example. I will never watch this show again if Rappin Granny wins $1,000,000 and I would hope that no one would apply to be on the show. If Rappin Granny wins then clearly, the whole show was nothing more than a bald-faced advertising rip-off. And by the way, when will people stop deifying Donald Trump? All he is, is a classless narcissist with a lot money.

I liked your show until last night when the judges picked Rappin Granny - you have got to be kidding - now I don't have to tie up two nights on the couch watching this show I am truly let down by the lack of consideration to the awesome talent - which doesn't include Granny

Good Luck Granny

Posted by: Charri | July 27, 2006 03:55 PM

I was disappointed the Rappin' Granny won. I think the magician had wayyyyyy more talent and really blew me away with his tricks. The Yogi was even more entertaining than Granny. I think she got through because of her age not talent.

Posted by: Paul | July 27, 2006 04:00 PM

To THE (poor excuse for) Judges:
Are you all deaf, dumb and completely clueless?
Rappin Granny, please tell me that it was a joke!
If it wasn't, then NBC, the producers of the show and anyone else in charge had better do some quick tap dancing, to get themselves out of the hole they just dug for themselves. Cable channels are very entertaining this summer, and that is what I will be watching. The one good show on NBC, this summer, just tanked.

Posted by: Brandon | July 27, 2006 04:04 PM

A solution to the Rappin' Granny fiasco (besides just firing the judges): Regis gets a pick! He gets to make a decision the judges flubbed last night.

Posted by: ratman, again | July 27, 2006 04:18 PM

I love the Miller's, what talent they have. The Harmonica player is awesome. It's very hard to find a good one like the Millers. I hope they win the big one!

Posted by: Debra | July 27, 2006 04:50 PM

Who's been huffing freebreeze to let the 'crapping granny'pass?

Posted by: Kirby | July 27, 2006 04:59 PM

My family has really like this show - up til tonight. Rappin' Granny as the judges pick? You knew that they weren't going to pick a singer because of Piers' comment about being a diverse finale. And that they did - she can't sing or rap well at all. Peirs called the violin screachy - and like her, something is wrong with this picture. I have never voted for anything on tv before tonight - Go Bianca! Hopefully the rest of America feels the same way as we do!

Posted by: Priscilla | July 27, 2006 05:09 PM

Rappin granny won because there is a black girl on the judging panel, and the other two pussies were too weak to go against her.

Posted by: Not a racist | July 27, 2006 05:32 PM

I like to watch the show naked and slather myself with baby oil. Whenever David speaks I touch myself and think of him rescuing me from drowning in the ocean (a la Baywatch). I wish they showed less talent-less goons and more of David.

Posted by: Ken | July 27, 2006 05:36 PM

You must have stayed out in the sun too long doing Baywatch epidsodes!!!! Rappin Granny---come on!!!!!, give us a break. You call screeching into the microphone to the beat of c"rap" music "TALENT"
Perhaps you forgot how "blown away" everyone was
who watched Bianca Ryan on her first performance. While her song choice this week was not as awesome, even if she was chocking to death, it would be better than "Rappin Granny" . I would suggest that you three judges go have a good psycological evaluation done as you all seem to have a "Mommy Complex" if you think anyone else believes Rappin Granny has a career in show business. Oh, maybe her & Jonathan Winters can do a senior citizens act (that will last less than one minute) together!!!!

Posted by: David ---NotHoff | July 27, 2006 05:37 PM

i think people are getting carried away here stop this ow before out of control also i hope your ok and i hope i see you in person again soon

Posted by: carla | July 27, 2006 05:49 PM

I enjoy the show. One problem though. I watch the first shows to see the crappy acts because they are the funniest. What happened last night? Rappin Granny? I am a fifty year old grandmother. If I bring my family to back me up and I make up an unintelligible rap song, do I have a chance at the million dollars?

Posted by: Roberta | July 27, 2006 06:00 PM

I can't believe and act like "rappin granny" won. I thought this was supposed to be a talent show. The judges are always critical of talent. That was a joke. The magician blew the show away. If more choices like that are made I can see this show going down the tubes. Rigged? I believe so. My girlfriend and I really like this show but if we see more farces like that you will have two less viewers.

Posted by: Anonymous | July 27, 2006 06:16 PM

I THINK RAPPIN GRANNY WAS AVERAGE BUT I THINK BIANCA RYAN IS THE BEST OF ANY SO FOR. IF SHE DOES NOT GO ON MY FAMILY WILL NOT BE WATCHING THE SHOW ANYMORE.

Posted by: RUSSELL | July 27, 2006 06:25 PM

I'm sorry David, you are so hot I will give up my wife to be like you just for one night.

Posted by: David can have my wife | July 27, 2006 06:27 PM

Rappin Granny? Geez, I remember when Bill Cosby was on in prime time, what is this 1980? These judges suck.

Posted by: Gimme a break | July 27, 2006 06:29 PM

Judging by all the comments about last nights' judges pick, Rappin Granny, I would say this show was a one summer dud. By the way, I agree with the bulk of the comments, shame on you judges( and I use the term for a lack of a better one ) you were totally WRONG! Bianca and Nathan should advance and Granny needs to go home. Remember the Name of the show!....TALENT, or better yet, look up the word in the dictionary, Oxford or Websters, you choose, the meaning will be the same.

Posted by: Dan | July 27, 2006 06:36 PM

Judges, I ask you to define talent..( not learned skill) then tell me how a person yelling meanly like a crabby old lady,to a beat,is a talent. Your decision was sooooooooooooooooo bad you should withdraw yourselves as judges.

Posted by: Linda | July 27, 2006 06:43 PM

Hi, thanks for a good show last night, and hope there's another good show tonight.
I guess I'm a fan of the rappin'
granny myself, and yep, I'm a fan of your singing as well.
I totally disagree with those who hated the show last night, which is only my opinion.
Rock on, DH!

Posted by: Lyn Henri | July 27, 2006 06:46 PM

What is up with you judges? Are you truly searching for talent, or diversity? An old lady speaking words to music is NOT talent. Anyone could do that. Biana is the most talented act on this show. If American does not advance her, I will stop watching the show, along with many others. You should have advanced her, and not given all of America a stomach ache until we find out who is advanced tonight. SHAME on you!!!

Your Big Fan

Posted by: jareth | July 27, 2006 07:09 PM

I already sent in my comments to NBC to be passed on to Regis and the judges. Politics here too. No matter where you go politics will follow I guess, and AGT on NBC is no difference. If Bianca Ryan doesn't make it tonight I also will not bother to watch AGT or NBC as well. Pure BS last night. Just because Bianca made a bad song choice (but still sung the song very well) the three hypocrites abandoned her. What idiots! One thing about Bianca is that she gives her all when she performs, 100%. First the three hypocrites give her the most highest praise out of all the contestants and then they just abondon her, leaving her win to chance. What a BS show this turned out to be. Shame on NBC.

Posted by: Ernie | July 27, 2006 07:26 PM

Hasselhoff and Lance Bass are engaged after Bach and him filed divorce.Bach found out he had been spanking the monkey to N'Sync all these years and left. After a few rounds of liquor and but darts he got held back from getting onboard a jet.Turns out that he got over his hangover and regretted voting for the granny.

Posted by: Joel | July 27, 2006 07:40 PM

Bianca Ryan has so much talent for an 11 year old girl. The song choice last night might not have been the best, but Bianca still SANG IT VERY WELL. I wish Piers had not made his comments about her hair and dress last time. I am glad David told her she is not Janis Joplin...she has to be Bianca. I bet Bianca will be great just by being her talented self. She truly has a God given talent.

Posted by: Dan | July 27, 2006 07:53 PM

This is the first time that I've ever written to a show to say how I feel. I had to let you know that I agree that rappin granny is a cute novelty act and I give her credit for doing it. Bianca is in my opinion the most talented and gracious of all and I hope she makes it big, despite your rejection! The only reason I will watch the show again is to see who the public will pick.

David,
Please be honest. Brandy is a professional singer, so, how in the world can she vote for Rappin Granny over Bianca Ryan and expect the viewers to have any respect for her judgement or for the show for that matter? Brandy stated to Bianca "You are un-be-leave-a-ble". "You are my favorite contestant in this contest". How can Brandy and Piers be so deaf, blind and hypocratic, and why? Your show just went from great to shamful in one night and lost the respect of 90% of the viewers. Will this be addressed and corrected in some way? I am positive that if it goes uncorrected you will loose over half your viewers next week. Ernie

Posted by: Ernie | July 27, 2006 08:14 PM

David, I am really sorry but I am so angry and upset about the voting last night that I truely have to say, with all due respect, "You Guys Suck" when it comes to judging and being honest to yourselves.
Shameful...Shameful...Shameful
Booooooooooooo, Boooooooooooo,
That's what you three have earned for your judging last night. If Bianca's out, so is AGT along with NBC to boot.

Posted by: Ernie | July 27, 2006 08:23 PM

I Tivo'd Wednesday's show and just watched it. Thank you for wasting 2 hours of my time on your 2006 version of the 70's Gong Show and picking the 2006 version of Gene Gene The Dancing Machine as your "judges pick". Granted the show can be goofy at times, but genuine talent has risen to the top in other episodes. Last night, an illusionist/magician, on par with anyone in the field, got passed over for a 73 year old Grandmother with no talent other than the guts to make a fool of herself in front of millions of people. Way to go, Americas Got Talent. Way to go NBC for making the whole show a big joke.

I love the new genre of talent shows; American Idol, Rock Star..(Not this year), etc... I was really enjoying your show up to this point, because there was actual talent on the show and it was recognized as such. But then....What a disgrace your choice was last night and a complete insult to anyone with real talent, that has appeared on your show so far. I for one, will not watch any future shows, except for whenever the 5 minutes is that "The Millers" perform. Really shameful. Whoever the exec was , the judges couldn't possibly have come up with such a dumb idea themselves, should be fired for ruining a good seemingly honest show.

Posted by: Jim | July 27, 2006 09:00 PM

Well, I WAS a fan of the " #1 show in America"(as Regis likes to say every time he comes back from way too many commercial breaks).I have a few predictions though. After the egregious judges pick of the novelty act Rappin' Granny last night, I don't think Regis can make that claim too much longer.I also predict that even though Bianca Ryan's song choice was not the best for her style she is still an amazing talent and her fan base will vote her through by a landslide.Unfortunately for Nathan Burton that means he won't advance. But then again if the contracts for the finalists are as binding and as restrictive as the contracts for American Idol finalists maybe the judges did him a favor by not voting him through. He got a few weeks of free publicity for his act and can laugh all the way to the bank when he capitalizes on it.I also predict that after the show producers see the outcry over last nights travesty that they will figure out a way to add 2 extra spots to the finals after the next semifinals show.Either by fan vote or judges vote and Nathan Burton will make it through anyway.

Posted by: Jack | July 27, 2006 09:17 PM

I saw last nights show, and I am officially DONE! The Rapping Granny winning the judges pick was an insult to the viewers' intelligence.

Posted by: James | July 27, 2006 09:23 PM

I forgot to add that I hope Piers was serious last night about being a "good " singer and he does sing before the show gets cancelled. Then Rapping Granny will be known as the SECOND worse singer ever to grace that stage.

Posted by: Jack | July 27, 2006 09:24 PM

Rapping Granny??? Nice but no talent. What a waste. You have ruined an ok of a show. It wasn't great but something to watch. That was a bad choice.

Posted by: Deborah | July 27, 2006 09:43 PM

Hi Mr Hoff.
I saw the show last night and my personal favorite has to be Bianca Ryan. I think she will take it. She is very young and already has a strong enough voice to compete with the best of them. GO BIANCA!!!!

This show is a complete joke...Rapping Granny is a "talent"? Come on. If she were my grandmother, I'd think it was cute and funny if she rapped for the family, but to put her on TV as a "talent"??? WTF? This is one of the WORST shows ever created. This show makes be feel sad for the future of our country.

Posted by: TC | July 27, 2006 10:14 PM

The show turned into a joke.

You had a great magician, a talented piano player, an accomplished violinist that you insulted,...and you choose a NO TALENT GRANNY.

America's got talent, too bad the judges and producers don't.

You owe the viewers an apology. You've insulted us all.

Do the right thing. I will... I'm changing channels.

David, I love you more than I love sex with my goats. I still think you are the most beautiful male on television today, but that does not preclude me from expressing my extreme dissatisfaction with your choice of performers on last night's show. Even if you were to show up on my doorstep entirely nude holding a red rose in your mouth and winking at me, I do not think I would be aroused. Please, for Ganesha's sake, tell me last night was a horrible mistake and we will not have to endure the rapping granny ever again.

Posted by: Mr Television | July 27, 2006 11:01 PM

you judges are pathetic. it annoys me to no end that you 3 morons decided to criticize the hell out of talented singers like bianca and others and the amazing violinist, and then have the nerve to let a rapping granny to the finals?

i had it. im not watching this pointless show anymore. piers, brandy and david, you guys are idiots, hypocritical idiots that don't ever deserve to judge anything. i hope you guys are happy insulting the view's intelligence everywhere.

pathetic, i am truly disgusted.

Oh yeah; I'll be damned if I watch any more of your show. I thought it was pretty good until you decided to take your audience for granted. Forget it. I'm not letting you lead me by the nose again. America's got talent, but you've decided that the rest of us are dummies.

Posted by: Boon Dog | July 27, 2006 11:37 PM

I absolutely love Bianca Ryan and Taylor Ware and feel either of these extremely talented young ladies truly deserve to win this contest. I only wish there was a second cash prize amount since they are both so amazing...and they have real TALENT.

Posted by: SC | July 27, 2006 11:42 PM

way to kill a good show guys. voting the rapping granny? get serious guys. you guys definitely blew it.

i knew nbc couldn't keep a hit show going, which is why conan obrien always makes fun of nbc being in the toilet. it will always remain in the toilet until they release dimwits like you, piers and brandy.

Posted by: tj | July 27, 2006 11:58 PM

I cannot believe the injustice! I really think, to save what's left of this show you must do the right thing, and put through a different act. Do you really think the rapping granny should be this far in the competition? I do realize you've had to make some difficult choices, but this one was easy - not to pick the rapping granny. Any other choice from last night, aside from the juggler maybe, would have been acceptable to the American public.

Posted by: Joe | July 28, 2006 12:02 AM

Rappin' Granny? Jeez, you guys must be desperate to have people call in their votes for the real winner, Bianca Ryan. I think Bianca was great. She had it all together and showed versatility in song styles besides. Rap music stinks, and although Granny is sweet, she is really not the winner.

Posted by: Marie | July 28, 2006 12:06 AM

I have GOT to know!:
Do you, "the Hoff", feel the 80's hypmotised you into thinking that ANYTHING done in fromt of a green screen is cool?!! I can't decide if your music videos are completely campy and stupid, or if they're sheer genius! It's definetely one or the other. I can see why you appeal to germans, but Americans don't really know your music that well. I must say though -- your appearence in Spounge Bob was probably the turning point for me. I thought you where totally full of yourself before that, but now I think you are hillarious! Now I say that is so "Hoff" when somthing is cool, but people don't get it.

Posted by: Svenske Flicka | July 28, 2006 12:07 AM

The judges forgot what they were there for when they picked Rappin Granni. I've always enjoyed the show; but that was certainly a bad pick for talent.

Posted by: Larry | July 28, 2006 12:23 AM

Granny? Cute, but not worth a million. Taylor Ware...cute, but lied about teaching herself. Has had a professional teacher for years. Although she can yodel. But who cares after one song??? Bianca...bad song choice but definitely deserves to win so far.

Posted by: Rita | July 28, 2006 12:29 AM

Hi David! I love AGT! I'll be watching tonight... I can't wait to see the results!

Posted by: Kendall | July 28, 2006 12:31 AM

America better pick Bianca Ryan tonight, and correct the mistake the judges made last night. If not, "America's Got Talent" is finished.

Posted by: David03079 | July 28, 2006 12:44 AM

Bianca's performance last night was great. Everytime I watch her highlight video, I like her singing and performance more and more. VOTE FOR BIANCA!!!

Posted by: Mel | July 28, 2006 12:54 AM

i am stunned. to listen to you and your team give tough advice to talented singers, speaking of how "at this level" one must be near flawless and then turn around and rally behind a novlety act is beyond me.

the probability that rappin' granny can be more than a flash in the pan is slim to none. real talent has obvious potential to be more than a good laugh and entertainment. real talent was overlooked and short changed.

after hearing the outcry of many over this, i agree that the credibility of this show is shot.

what a shame - so much potential...

Mr. Hasselhoff,

Big fan of yours und, ich mag die Liede, die Sie auf Deutsch singen. Ja, spreche ich Deutsches auch. The 11 year old girl Bianca Ryan I thought sang really well. I believe Brandi didn't like Bianca's song Wednesday night because, it wasn't a "hip hop" song. I agree maybe she didn't perform quite as well as she did the first time. But don't fault her for her song selection simply because you are prejudges against rock and roll.

Rapping Granny was very entertaining. I too enjoyed her performance but, to say she was better than Bianca Ryan? I know I am not a professional performer as you and Brandi but, even I can tell that Bianca Ryan was the best act last night.

Ich wunsche Ihnen wohlen Herrn Hasselhoff. Ich bin einer von Ihnen grosse Ventilatoren.

whats wrong to play pop on electric viloin
let me remind you all about vanessa mae who became the best electric viloin player in the world and sold millions of albums by playing classic and combination classic- pop music on viloin

if you have chance try her out and search for he song- it rocks!!!!!!!!

and piers dear that player lives and represents your country- england

maybe if you dont like many of those artists send them to us so they can make some money for our country instead of yours

so as they say in brit - buzz off

Dear David,

I was highly entertained by Rapping Granny...but to say she was better than Nathan Burton was perposerous. Not even to metion Bianca being better too. True, I'm no expert, but shouldn't you three be focusing on talent, not amusement? I thougt this was a TALENT competetion, not an entertainment search.

Posted by: Cat Fan | July 28, 2006 03:42 AM

Poor Bianca, now she has to rely on the viewers to put her through. The judges should have put her through based on her previous performance. I wonder who selected the song for her. What happen to Brandy's loyalty? Didn't she say that Bianca was her favorite?

Posted by: Clay | July 28, 2006 03:45 AM

I see your producers or somebody smartened up and found a way to include Bianca and perhaps the magician too (through the "wildcard idea", right?} If so, I think you might have found a way to save your ass; I mean face with America. Talent is something to be nurtured and cultivated so that it can blossom, mature and flourish. This little girl and the magician have this......and WORD UP JUDGES......THE GRANNY DON'T!!! And Producers, don't make a million dollar mistake: it would cost you more in viewer cancellation. THINK OF YOUR NEILSON RATINGS, YOU DO THE MATH

Posted by: lanelle | July 28, 2006 03:45 AM

Ok, thank you for picking the Rapping Granny. She is a class talent and is good at what she does. (for a granny) There is other talent on that show and I admit really good talent but people need to realize that you cant always have a chance. Im in a select show choir and band and im 14, but to get your career going you need to hear a little criticism once and a while. So people listen, the Hasslehoff, Brandy and Piers are good at what they do.

Posted by: Rebekah Domayer | July 28, 2006 03:45 AM

Rappin Granny is absolutely the worst pick up there. Piers you sold out. I bet you buckled to pressure from Brandi. Hasselhoff I would have guess would sell out, but Piers you should be ashamed.

Posted by: Km | July 28, 2006 03:53 AM

I did not hear the entire rules of the Wildcard and can't find it on the AGT page. There are 2 more acts to get in, but the judges vote their favs that didn't make it back in? Can anyone fill me in?

BTW, thank HEAVENS little Bianca got voted through. She should not be the victim of the producers/judges wanted the demographic votes.

Posted by: Fancy | July 28, 2006 03:54 AM

Thank to all the fans out there who voted. As you know we judges have front seats and sometimes the decisions are tough. However, looking back I think I would not have voted for rappin' granny again. There was definitely a lot of pressure from NBC on this one. Keep watching though. There is much more to see!

Posted by: David Hasselhoff | July 28, 2006 03:58 AM

I thought that Bianca nailed Janis Joplin. If you have ever heard Joplin's song and then Bianca it is hard to tell the difference. I also thought that there was going to be an announcement on tonight's show but I guess I missed it. Can anyone fill me in? Thanks!

first of all, it was fine for the judges to pick rappin granny, shes something different and very entertaining, and she can rap, crowd loves her, she's engaging and very enjoyable. America forgot that this isn't american idol and you don't have to always pick singers. I mean look at this, Nathan burton first audition didn't impress Piers so much so what does he do he steps if up a notch, more like 3 notches, Bianca Ryan regressed horribly from the first time. It doesn't matter how much talent you have if you can't show a different side of yourself properly. I don't care that she is 11 and can sing like that. Her performance last night was boring, and tonight wasn't any better. Nathan Burton had a great performance tonight to complement the one last night. I mean he appeared right behind the judges, and even put regis philbin into his act, it was awesome, and it has that wow factor. the first time we heard bianca we went wow, but what about the second and third time, i doubt that many people were saying it again. Don't make America's got talent into American idol because its not. Singing is a talent, but how many singers have there been and not even that how many 11 and 12 year old singers have there been, there all the same, okay maybe one sings better than the other but who cares, reward someone who can really wow you like nathan burton, or even realis, with all the acrobatic dancing, or even at last who doesn't just sing but puts their own flavor into songs, and makes them enjoyable. thats my 2 cents later people

Pressure from NBC? So you're just puppets now? Then let's get the captions right: NBC's Choice; or perhaps NBC's Puppets Choice.
I loved rappin' granny as much as anyone, but million dollar talent she ain't got.

What was the song Bianca Ryan sang tonight after she found out she won in the semi-finals?

Hello,

The Rapping Granny is/was a professional rapper.

I used to own her music cassette tapes back in the late 1980's

Here is a link to one of music videos:

Enjoy!

Wow, I am not impressed about these "talents." I agree with the general thread of the comments.....let's see the show choose TALENT and not one act marvels. These sleeping videos truly show the shams on TV. A 73 year old woman who claims the sympathy vote. Deliver me.. I have enough cancer survivors in my family to give me the strength to not fall into this stuff.

Come ON NBC. Give the audience a real show, not a hyped up mess.

Any rules on the wildcard?

Posted by: Fancy | July 28, 2006 04:55 AM

Dear David:
I was also very surprised when the judges chose Rappin' Granny last night. I felt the same way I did when the Miller Brothers were chosen. The way I feel is that because the younger brother cried the judges felt that America might be sympathetic and vote them through, so by the judges voting for them, it only left us with either Taylor Ware or All That! Now, in my humble opinion, All That was definately a show of talent! How easy can it be to tap and dance in unison with 5 people! Too bad the judges and America didnt vote them on.
And again, last night, the judges bowed to the pressure and chose an act that was NOVEL but NOT what I would consider to be talent!
This show has wonderful potential and could be right up there with American Idol but you judges have to really pull it together. Sometimes it is hard to be critical, but this isn't about being nice, it is about choosing the best! I believe you can do it Dave! I am with the HOFF :)
Until next week, Dana

As a music educator and professional musician, i thoroughly enjoyed the energy in the performers in Ten 13 Concept.

After your choice, however, i am also convinced that i am MUCH MORE QUALIFIED to be on the judging panel than you.

I mean...a rapping granny is the judges' choice.

I totally understand the judging commentary in regards to Ten13, i had no problem with that. I felt they over-energized their performance, and caused some clarity issues in how it came off.

But then to make your choice that?!?!?!?!

Please...retitle the show America's got Talent..the judges have none.

Posted by: Evan | July 28, 2006 05:24 AM

Hoff, I love the show and I think you're as cool as ever.

The blog isn't so cool though with only two entries. I was hoping to glean more of what you thought process was with some of your favorite acts and where you thought the show was going. More content and less fluff please!

Posted by: Demetri | July 28, 2006 05:58 AM

I have to say......is this American Idol? How about some talent that is not singing! I think this show has turned into kiddie idol or granny idol but not who's got talent! I refuse to watch anymore of this joke of a program!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Walter | July 28, 2006 06:06 AM

Does anyone have an opinion about this video that Rapping Granny produced over 15 years ago:

http://mv.music.yahoo.com/system/admin/tools/getvideo?vid=2151427

I have been watching the show since it began and was entertained at first, but now after tonight show instead of it being called america's got talent you should just rename it to american idol! Its great these people can sing, but in all reality they should have been on american idol not America's got talent!

Lol what a joke just saw rappin granny video, you judges need to regroup and define what this show is all about. From the looks of it your losing a lot of support from your viewers! I really thought the magician would go through tonight, i felt he was way more entertaining.

Posted by: Ron | July 28, 2006 06:36 AM

I am concerned about the videos of Rappin Granny that are out there. I noted in my earlier entry that this is a surprise and I don't agree with the judges at all, or any of the NBC officials to have this act voted through to the finals when this is an American Sympathy Rip Off not America's Got Talent.

Let's turn the NOTCH up as the judges would say and get the show on the "up and up." Not the sham and shameful. This week's show and the feedback was awful, I thought. Well deserved bad feedback for NBC, and they are a preferred network of mine.

Geez.

Posted by: Fancy | July 28, 2006 06:36 AM

Looking forward to the show next Wednesday.

Posted by: Lyn Henri | July 28, 2006 06:45 AM

1. I doubt if Mr. Hasselhoff will read this blog.

2. The judges BLEW IT on Wednesday. Rappin Granny over Bianca Ryan? Yes it was a sympathy (and politically correct )vote.

3. Thankfully the AMERICAN PUBLIC knows better and BIANCA RYAN was voted in tonight.

4. I like the show.

Posted by: frank byzinski | July 28, 2006 06:47 AM

I am so disgusted with America's Got Talent! I used to watch the show religiously. Now I will not watch it at all. All they ever pick to go to the finals are kids!! Hey, they already tried that show on Fox. It was called "American Juniors" and it sucked big time. I don't want to listen to 11 year olds trying to sing. I don't care how "talented" they are. I don't want to watch a show featuring a bunch of kids singing! They are ruining that show! Here is an idea: Since we all know that the idiotic voting public will vote through any 11 year old just because they are 11 years old, don't select them to compete in the semifinals! When all is said and done, the finals of America's Got Talent is going to be a bunch of kids all trying to imitate Whitney Houston, and NOBODY will want to watch!!!! They're going to ruin that show just like they ruined "Who Wants to be a Millionaire". Get the 11 year olds off the stage for God's sake!

Posted by: GrumpyGuy | July 28, 2006 06:49 AM

Hey guys,
You just lost a viewer. Regis needs to choose another sound byte, not after last nights Judges choice will you be America's #1 show. Lance and Bianca should have been the one's to advance. Truly, Grandma was cute, but Lance and Bianca's talent far surpass the Rappin Grandma.

Posted by: jjwright | July 28, 2006 07:05 AM

Hoff must be worlds #1 active blog maker evah.. :)

Posted by: Zidan | July 28, 2006 07:16 AM

A lot of great acts I'll agree, but I too have chosen the winner. Bianca, this voice hits my heart strings, this voice moves me like I haven't been moved in years, she rocked me like no other last night, I came up out of my chair. She reminded me of Janis Joplin, she was brass to come out there barefoot, and the look on you judges face said it all, she put you all in defensive mode. She scared you with her awesome talent, it was wrote all over your faces, this girl has it and deserves the million dollars! I can't wait to see her first CD hit the shelfs, I'll be in line to buy it!! My dear Judges, play back that video, now look into your faces and tell me that ain't a scared Judge, a Judge who see's someone that provokes their own talent, my dear friends face down your fear and vote for the number one act to hit that stage, Bianca!!!

hi david, im a huge fan of night ride and a fan of this show my first time watching america's got talet was wensday night it was awsome the rapping grannny was amazing keep up the good work mr hoff and the rest of the judges and regis your an awsome host p.s. this show rocks god bless you and take care.

Posted by: katrina | July 28, 2006 07:20 AM

David,
I have been a huge fan of yours for many years.Glad to see you back on t.v..
But I have to agree with some of the other people. Don't get me wrong...Rappin' Granny is a great novelty act and I am sure she is a lovely woman and a great insipration to those who survived or battling cancer...... but I was really surprised that you, Piers & Brandy all agreed on her when the magician was absolutly awesome! This weeks 2 choices should have been Bianca & the magician. Out of all the acts going to the finals, their is only one that isn't a "singer" and thats Realis.(Nothing against the singers) I was hoping for more of a variety from the judges in the finals since this isn't "American Idol". I hope that when you and the other judges pick your favorites for the "Wild Card" show that all of you consider the talent that was passed up in Wednesday's show for the sake of network ratings.Just my opinion.
Otherwise, I think you are doing a great job! You are fair, honest and considerate with your opinions and advise, especially with the younger talent.
My family & I are looking forward to next weeks show.
Unitl then, take care and God Bless you & your family.
Sincerly,
#1 "Hoff" fan...Lynn

Can't believe the judges choice. rappin' granny has no talent..... she's a senior citizen for cryin out loud. I wonder if it would have helped if Bianca's fans had packed the audience? It doesnt matter, the voters showed better taste than the judges. Bianca Ryan will be a star long before she's old enough for American Idol. Beautiful job, awesome voice! Nice, nice kid. Your enthusiasm is infectious. You are walkin away with this one. By the way, I am almost a senior citizen and I still think granny stinks!

Posted by: Sue G | July 28, 2006 12:49 PM

i saw someone write that bianca remninded them of janis joplin, why is that a good thing there is no originality, the magician and team acrodunk should've one they were the most entertaining bianaca ryan, got WORSE AND WORSE those two acts tepped it up hardocre

Posted by: Abhishek Amin | July 28, 2006 02:10 PM

We love the program & you judges are very entertaining ....but it is sooooo irritating that so many times during the acts, the camera is on the audiance or on you.....we miss half the performance we are trying to vote on. Could you please put in a word to the cameramen that we would really like to see the ACTS?????? Thank you!!!!!!!

Posted by: pam | July 28, 2006 02:26 PM

What are u talking about man you know ur 62 years old granny dont have enough memory to make a recepy but this granny makes a good rap song man and me 2 when i saw that little girl get picked over the magician i was like frozen for a sec man magician OWNED the girl im sure
they just voted her for pity or watever well just hope he gets the wild card thingy

Posted by: Tony | July 28, 2006 02:55 PM

"Rappin' Granny had everybody on their feet, cheering her on. She rapped her song over a very funky beat and had people dancing and shouting, "Go Granny!" David loved her performance, Brandy thought she had an honest shot at winning the competition, and Piers said she was by far the most entertaining of all the acts he's seen."When they say that she intertain ppl there goes the $ sign imagine everyone loves her and vote for her that makes maybe millions to the show thats why they dont pick ur horn guy this guy was funny but stupid

Posted by: Tony | July 28, 2006 02:59 PM

I think Bianca is going to hurt her voice belting like that. I am a professional vocalist and I know this.

Duke

Posted by: Duke | July 28, 2006 03:04 PM

On Wednesday, Bianca sang a Janice Joplin song and stunk. The judges rightly told her to stop pretending to be someone else. Then last night she sang the same song that she sang the first time she performed, though not as well. The judges and the audience think she will win but I say, LD Miller is the one with all the talent. He blows everyone else away with a unique and formidable talent. Nathan is good, but not in the same league with LD Miller. Biance is also good but she needs a lot more training in voice control and pitch (which Brandy ought to know) and Rappin Granny is nothing more than an old woman who frowns and speaks word to music.

For my money, the person with the most talent, is LD Miller, bar none. He got game, he's serious and he's wicked sweet on the harmonica.

Posted by: Leslie | July 28, 2006 03:11 PM

I love the show and am so happy to see America put Bianca Ryan through. I think the show would have been OVER if she was not still in the running. I missed Thursday night's show, however. Can some add to this blog what song Bianca sang and where it might be seen on the web? I heard she was amazing...no surprise! I also think Taylor Ware is fabulous and am so proud of these young ladies and their achievements at such a young age....it will be fun to watch both careers as they blossom over the years...they are both clearly winners already!

350 comments!!! And it's just a talent show. It's not all about that 1 million dollars. Some of them are going to suceed anyway because they got fans during the AMG. It's on the national TV, but we from Europe (thanks to David) download it also. Some of the performers have the opportunitiy to become an international stars. It's all in their will and hunger for stardom. If you ask me it's not about the money at all (and I'm not saying that the money isn't an important factor), it's about the wish to become stars. And this is for all the contestans: Now, you've made it one step closer to become what you've always dreamed about. The passion, hunger, talent... all that are ingredients you'll need to become somebody. To become famous. But think about it. Think about all the pros and cons of fame. Is it worth it? If your answer is yes, then go for it. You can make it on your own, NBC just needs the show, and you were so lucky that you were prepared and performed so good to make it on it. That was for some a first step to realize their dream. If you really want to be fameus than make another step, and another. It will bring you to the top. Trust in yourself.

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT......THE JUDGES (INCLUDING SHAM BRITTANY) HAVE NONE!

Brittany and Hasselhoff have great producers who use very shiny equipment to make them sound good. Let them get on stage live and do what these people are doing. I think you need to get the heads of lettuce ready america!

Posted by: Evan | July 28, 2006 03:43 PM

Bianca's performance that blew us away can be seen at lookatentertainment.com. I've downloaded it and seen it at least 30 times!! She's by far the most talente!!

Didn't like the Janis Joplin song she sang Wed. It's the heroin addicts' favorite. She sang like a pro, tho, and got my vote and thank goodness America knows she's the best.

If Bianca hadn't been voted to go on, I wasn't going to waste any more time on this show. Director-work is amateurish and annoying...the magician should have been picked by the judges and Bianca by the audience (viewers).

BTW, I nearly fell out of my chair when David fell out of his at Taylor Ware's first yodel....Still makes me laugh!!! Honest reaction makes us love David.

Posted by: Katie | July 28, 2006 03:43 PM

Well, I am so glad that Bianca got voted through. It would have been a sad day, if she did not. She is clearly the most talented singer in the show. She is unbelievable. I've never heard a child at her age with that voice. Just think about when her voice is fully developed. She can sing anything. I personally think that she ROCKED! Janis Joplin. She showed that she can do anything. It was a disgrace that the judges voted a "Novelty Act" like Rappin Granny through, come on!!!! I guess it's better though, AMERICA voted her in and that's a honor. Even if Bianca doesn't win this talent contest, she doesn't need it. She is going to be a star regardless of the show. She was born to do it. God blessed her with a gift. I just hope that she stays grounded and doesn't turn into the teen trash (now adults) that are out there now. Bianca, you are amazing and blessed. You GO GIRL!!!!! Philly loves you and now so will the world. Good Luck to Bianca!!!

Posted by: Northeast Philly Fan Forever | July 28, 2006 04:14 PM

Let me first start out by saying that growing up I could not STAND the Hoff on Baywatch. The show made me sick! I don't know what's happened, but over the course of America's Got Talent, I've become a huge fan of the HOFF and wish nothing but the best for him. I think he's AWESOME. GO HOFF, GO HOFF, GO!!!!

With that said, I can't BELIEVE Rappin' granny got the judges vote over some of the other talent. I think it was a charity case or something. It had to have been b/c there's no way she is more talented than the violinist, the magician, etc. COME ON PEOPLE, I agree that last night's show was a COMPLETE waste of my time. NBC had to dig DEEP to come up w/ fluff to fill the show. It could have been over in 30 min. and I would have been happy. If next week isn't any better I'm jumping off this bandwagon.

Posted by: Meg | July 28, 2006 05:43 PM

Just a thought: Why is it that the air-head producer can't figure out which camera to use. Here's a clue, dude: Select the cameras that are showing the performances instead of SHOWING THE D*MN AUDIENCE! We want to see the performers, you jerk!

Posted by: Boon Dog | July 28, 2006 05:50 PM

I think these judges should change programs to "Americas Biggest Loser" because their losing their audience. C'mon rappin' Granny.lol.

Posted by: Richard S | July 28, 2006 06:20 PM

I have been singing and teaching professionally for almost 34 yrs. I can't believe how many people are so blown away by Bianca Ryan... sure she has potentitial but she's 11 she has a really really long way to go before she deserves the comments she's been getting. She needs to learn how to sing first (not scream) and she needs to be singing age appropriate songs. Piers was the only judge who was honest enough to tell her and the other 12 yr old the truth. When I was their age I tried to sing songs about love which were too big for me and thank goodness a judge was honest with me and told me I shouldn't what I know nothing about. Just because she's a cute little redhead doesn't mean she's good enough yet. She's going to have a very rude awakening when she gets out into the real world and falls flat on her face.

Posted by: diva | July 28, 2006 06:25 PM

heeey.
i don't think that the rappin granny deserved the judges pick. bianca is a lot more talented than her.. and it could of given the magician a chance to advance through too with the viewers choice.
but my favorite still is the clogging boys. All that.
:)
anyone agree?

Posted by: nicole | July 28, 2006 06:46 PM

The only thing this show has broadcast is that America has no talent...

Posted by: Crusty | July 28, 2006 07:19 PM

I can not beleive that you feel that rappin granny is better then the other acts last night. I think you have all become senile.

Posted by: p | July 28, 2006 07:37 PM

The show this week was lame. As so many have said there were better talents than Rappin-Granny. I stated earlier that the only reason she got the vote is because a lot of the others had some quirks this week. The illusionist was better than her and Bianca was better and the electric violinist was better. The Hoff was actually( I cant believe Im say this) OK this week. Hope the airport thing didnt have him Hasseled......LOL

Posted by: MARK(The Hoff hassler) | July 28, 2006 07:40 PM

Diva,

Well put. Though I am not a professional singer, I know good singing when I hear it and Bianca doesn't yet have it. Yes, she got a big voice, but that's not what makes for a good vocalist. The only reason she has wowed the audience is because they don't know any better. Thanks for your comments.

I'll say it again. The winner of the show should be LD Miller...a young man who was told he didn't needed lessons on the harmonica. The only reason I keep watching AGT is because I am hoping LD will play again. If given the choice to watch any of the acts over and over again, I would only want to watch LD Miller. And that's what it means to have talent....someone who can captivate an audience with technical and artist excellence.

Posted by: Leslie | July 28, 2006 07:48 PM

I am heart broke that Kevin Johnson didn't continue on. This is turning into another singing show and I feel that you are forgetting about other talents out there that don't sing. I strongly feel that Kevin, Matilda and Clyde deserved to move on just because it was a true unique talent. This show is just another American Idol show with younger singer with a few other talents on the side.

Posted by: Amy | July 28, 2006 07:59 PM

David,
I am an aspiring artist (singer) who lives in Rockford. (near Marengo where you grew up). How can I get discovered?

Posted by: Sean | July 28, 2006 08:09 PM

Hi Mr.Hoff!

I just wanted to tell AMERICA...you finally got it right by putting BIANCA RYAN through. And Bianca girl do not pay any attention to all those negative things people are saying..they are just jealous that it is you up there and not them. Keep doing your thing and sooner than later you will be laughing your way to the bank!!! :-)

Maria

Posted by: Maria Valle | July 28, 2006 08:21 PM

People relax GOSH it is just a show!!!!!!! Do you see the Americaqn Idol winners fused over like this!!!! I dont think so. David Hasslehoff was just doing what he is payed to do, just like Brandy and Piers!!! People you will get over it as soon as the next American Idol comes around or the next election. Because as far as I know people will eventually forget about the show after the winner is picked . SO GET OVER IT!!!!!

Posted by: Rebekah Domayer | July 28, 2006 08:22 PM

And one more thing...who the hell is Piers Morgan other than an newspaper editor of British rags? What gives him the right to be a judge of talent? Can he sing? Can he dance? No. All he is, is an editor of tabloid crap and the host of a show about being famous. At least Brandy and The Hoff are singers and actors and know something about what it takes to perform. Get rid of Piers...he's a joke.

Posted by: Leslie | July 28, 2006 08:22 PM

Rappin' Granny?????
GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!

I cannot believe you put her thru to the next round. So many others were sooooo much better than that!!!!

I hate rap. (sorry granny)
Someone has to come in last place in the finals I guess.
She already has my vote.

How are you David? I am loving this show! The talents are great but I love laughing at your funny comments & your sexy face. I am having trouble finding a zipcode for Las Angeles at David's Stars 7018 Hollywood Blvd. I don't have the zipcode & I would like to write to you in person & I have no idea how many stamps it would take to write to you in Germany, do fans write to you at AGT? if so, what's the address? I am finally getting your music, The Very Best Of DH because I love the music Du, I have watched it many times on the computer on dropitlikeitshoff.com. That's an excellent site! I love the swearing video too & the other songs & the funny photos. The song Du is very romantic because you have a romantic voice. If you don't know already, Elvis Presley is my mom's cousin without joking. I'm telling the truth, my man. I've seen it all, you dance like him! That's so amazing that you have his dancing talent. It moves me!

Here is my home address so that I can have the zipcode or maybe a post card, I don't mind.

OK. So is this supposed to be a hokey talent show on steroids, or just a huge joke. If it's a joke, I don't get it. These people do have talent, but it's sad to see the judging so swayed by hype and not talent. Rappin granny was not even that good back in the 80s. That's well befoe many of the better contestants were even born! And she has not changed her act a bit. (See the video linked above in another comment). Same OLD gag, and just as embarassing to watch now as it was over two decades ago.

Posted by: THE TRUTH | July 29, 2006 01:28 AM

David you are the reason I watch this show (I hate reality shows otherwise). I love your sincere comments and when you laugh, it makes me laugh. I will be as unpretentious as you when I become a celebrity. E. Ellis.

E ELLIS? EMILY?????? I KNOW YOU!!!!! IT'S ME LYN HENRI.

Posted by: LYN H | July 29, 2006 01:32 AM

as I sat there last night watting for the results to be told, I kept thinking to myself that if I see another singer get through I'm watching AI.And when that happen I screamed at the tv in disbelif. There is more talent out there then justs singers and singer are a dime a dozen. I think thus far that is all we are going to see for this show. I agree with one of them and that is the first one Taylor. That little girl has talent. as for the rappin granny.... I can't beleive she's in and Nathan out, I'd pay to see him. And as for the person who asked if people rewond their tivo, the idea of good entertainment is not to sit there and rewind you're tivo to see how its done it's just to watch it. As for the wild card they've already decide who they are. after last night show I can't watch this show any more. You might as well call it American Idol 2

Posted by: kc | July 29, 2006 02:15 AM

Dave,Wow was so happy to see that bianca was picked actually started to cry. She has such a Fantastic voice and this little girl was givin a gift of song by God. We here in Pennsylvania truley beleave this little girl will make it big if givin the chance. Hey Madonna did it, Brittny spears did it even leann rymes did it. Bianca will definitly make it as a star to. I have to say some people said things crude about others who performed yes some were awful but hey they tryed gave it their best and we are not all made to be Stars for sure. Keep up the good work i wouldnt want to be a judge and deal with what you deal with but after seeing some of the talent i seen im seriousely thinking on trying out myself for some thing just not sure what. but no i wont do rap ha ha. Take care and hey do you have a steady web site or email? would love to keep intouch like im sure millions of ppl want to. Thanks and GO BIANCA GO YOU GOT WHAT IT TAKES LITTLE ONE !!!!

Posted by: LORI | July 29, 2006 02:46 AM

Look a 72 year old black woman and I don't have to rap to get attention! Talent? I think America needs a wake up call.

Posted by: Angis Brown | July 29, 2006 03:18 AM

This last round of the semi-finals, there was no-one worth voting for. To bad on the call in line that they don't have a number for none of the above.

Posted by: Dave | July 29, 2006 03:53 AM

Granny is entertaining - - good county fair material. Bianca could have a great future, but blew this round - - even the judges said that. Based on the actual performance of this round, Nathan was hands down (actually hands up) the winner. He is as good and presents himself as professional as any act in the competition. I can't believe he was not the judges choice. My picks were Nathan, Bianca, the basketball guys, and then maybe Granny. Judges, he must pick Nathan as a wild card.

Posted by: Dale | July 29, 2006 04:25 AM

What's the deal with the person playing matchmaker for me and DH anyway?
Personally, I'm commitment phobic, and I'm not ready for a relationship, especially after the crap of DH's own divorce was played out in the media too often.
I'm just a fan of David Hasselhoff, just like everyone else here in the comment area of the blog.
In any case, I'm looking forward to what happens next on the show,

Posted by: Lyn Henri | July 29, 2006 04:26 AM

hey. I really enjoyed the last show. But can ya please tell Piers to be less nasty? Hes starting to scare me lol. I loved it when Regis called him Jack the ripper lol. It seems like all the judges are good friends anyways. Which is good cause no one wants to see judges who hate each others guts. I really thought it was hillairious though when the magician was doing his thing and he put that girl in the box and he pulled out underware that said I love Piers lol. that was hillairious I died laughing. i hope the next show will be just as good.

Posted by: lioness901 | July 29, 2006 04:38 AM

I think that you three cowed to the exec's at NBC on this one and it is very disspointing. Rappin Granny is cute but she is certainly not a million dollar talent. You compromised your postion and as you can see from the posts that the vast majority has seen through your nonsence. Bianca Ryan can even make a bad choice of song sound great, and that is a million dollar talent.

Posted by: Elton | July 29, 2006 04:49 AM

What the fuck are you doing? Why the hell would you choose Rappin' Granny? I thought this was not an "american idol" show. She clearly is on the bottom on terms of talent. That's just wrong period. And with the Millers? What the hell? The tap dancing people had a helluva more talent. I really hope At last wins.

David:

Why did you check "Rapping Granny?" She has NO TALENT! Did you and Piers vote for her because you thought you might be threatened after the show - HAR!

Posted by: Ruthie Velasquez | July 29, 2006 05:16 AM

>David Hasselhoff replied: As you know we judges have front seats
>and sometimes the decisions are tough. There was definitely a lot
>of pressure from NBC on this one.

Hello David Hasselhoff,

Well I don't know what kind of "pressure" NBC placed upon your judging
panel to make the decision you arrived at, however I'm quite certain NBC
now knows the true meaning of pressure. I would venture to guess that
the number of votes "America's Got Talent" viewers awarded to singing
sensation Bianca Ryan, were very likely staggering and overwhelming.
There's no question that America sang it's praise for Bianca Ryan last
night, and I hope NBC executives heard that message loud and clear.
One can also hope that NBC executives will now stay with a policy of
providing entertainment for America's viewers, instead of involving itself
in the politics of the entertainment industry. Your comment to Bianca
about her being no Janis Joplin, couldn't be any further from the truth.
Bianca Ryan sang the song "Piece of My Heart" with the same exact
heart, soul, and intensity that Janis Joplin ever sang that same song
with. As a long time fan of the late Janis Joplin, I know in my heart
that Janis is undoubtedly sitting in rock & roll heaven, smiling down at
young Bianca. Whether Bianca wins the final talent competition or not,
I think there is very little doubt she will become a superstar in America's
music industry someday. There are some extremely talented performers
in the America's Got Talent competition, so I'm quite sure your ultimate
decisions are going to become even tougher. Given your experience as
an actor/singer, and Brandy's experience as a singer/actress, I can fully
understand why the two of you were chosen to be judges. Why however
was a disgraced tabloid editor like Piers Morgan chosen to judge talent?
Was Piers a former British pub drinking buddy of Simon Cowell, or did
Mr. Blackwell turn down an offer to be part of the talent judging panel?
Change your hair, change your dress, change your shoes? Yeah that
was great advice Piers, your a true "underwhelming" asset to the panel.

Posted by: David03079 | July 29, 2006 06:04 AM

I am quite concerned about the judge's choice this week. Rappin' Granny is a wonderful novelty act. However, if you consider the caliber of Nathan Burton's act, he is extremely talented. Additionally, he possesses a strong stage present. "I think we have found the next David Copperfield" stated by the judges themselves, but you chose a different individual without a significant amount of talent to maintain a million dollar act. I understand that I am not a talent coordinator, but I do have experience in understanding what persuades people because I am a marketer. Mr. Nathan Burton has the ability to be a long standing national act and become a national presence in the entertainmnet business. I would hope that some intelligent talent agent grabs a hold of him and guides him to his fullest potential. Otherwise, America will lose a tremendous talented individual. Please reconsider and return him to the stage under this show to give him the opportunities he deserves. You can use a viewers request spin or some other direction to avoid making it appear as the judges made a mistake, but please do the right thing and bring him back.

Thank you

Kevin

I just enjoy the show AMerica's Got Talent, especially the Hoff. I like all the acts that are on there. I can get upset about The guy who snaps not making it & the guy from Russia not making it but it is up to the judges on the show & the people watching at home. I hope your arm or whatever gets better David Hasselhoff. Peace & love out,

I am one of the many who think that "Rapping Granny" shouldn't have been first pick for the judges. Bianca and Burton (the fantastic magician..and I hope I have his name right)should have been the top 2. Sometimes the judges are right on...but this time, no. For a 73 year old woman to stand up there and sing/rap/talk like a "thug" is just plain wrong. That's not talent, it's a "maybe it might be entertaining at times" joke. Were the judges afraid of the many family members (and some were very tough looking) of Granny to not have her in the top 2?

Posted by: Donna | July 29, 2006 05:06 PM

I think all the black people in the audience intimidated the judges. It's pretty much all crackers on that show, except for Brandy.

I'm hoping to maybe be on the show someday!
Anyways, I am really looking forward to the next show! :-)

Hi David, First, I pray that Bianca Ryan wins. She just amazes me. I can get enough of her singing. She could sing any song and be fantistic.
Next I do have to agree with antirap on the judgement of rapping grandma. I couldn't understand her. She looks like a great person but no talent!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Julie | July 29, 2006 07:01 PM

hey boi!!! Ima audition 4 this show 4 next season!!! But i need 2 no where the auditions r goin 2 b!

Posted by: Livia Norton | July 29, 2006 07:50 PM

David,

I was watching the video of the first time Bianca Ryan was on and sang "and I'm telling you..."

When she hit the soul full part (no.. no.. no.. no..), you and Brandy where leaning back in the chairs. Then you slid forward and Brandy stood up.

What were you doing with your feet? Dude, there are more appropriate times to clip your toe nails don't ya think? (just 'picking' on you.. grin).

Seriously though, I love watching the Judge's reactions to the performers. I wish the director would do a picture-in-picture format and keep you three on screen all the time the acts are doing their thing.

I think Bianca will win this. Her Joplin was dead on. I agree that R&B might be her niche but think of it this way. Joplin could not have done Holiday nor Holiday do Joplin. That has to tell you something about this girls talent.

I think her dad had her do Joplin to show her range. Because everyone was expecting another R&B powerhouse song, the Joplin thing threw everyone for a bit of a loop.

And the voting on that one... It almost seemed to me that the judges were expecting America to vote for Bianca so they took the chance and voted in granny. Don't get me wrong, I loved granny but you all are 'posed to vote for your favorite performer. Not guess who America will vote for and then vote in your second choice.

That was a big gamble... Next time it might not pay off. This ain't Vegas.

One last thing... How dare you give into pressure from NBC? You are the HOFF!!! You set your own rules and not NBC. It's about integrity. Why do you think we love to hate Simon Cowell? Not because he is nasty, mean and needs a tic-tac. It's because he is honest and says what he feels. Well ok, 'feel' might be a bit strong as that implies Simon might have emotions but you get my drift.

You just keep being yourself and America will vote you back for another season.

i just wanted to let you know that youre doing a great job at what you do. all three of you judges are . rappin granny is okay. she does havetalent but i dont think tht its the right talent for the competition. bianca ryan defintley dominated even though it was a poor song choice. i think she deserves it the most and she would have been a much better candidate for judges choice and it would have made america happier. america loves her. she has the look. the talent. and the determination to win this competition. but as i said you, brandy, and even piers are doing a great job at putting the best out there and putting the best through this comepetion. keep up the good work.

If I were you, I'd make very sure that Rappin' Granny really is 72. She looks more like she's in her mid-50s to me. If it turns out that she's hoaxed you, it isn't going to help the show's credibility, is it?

Posted by: Ian Coleman | July 30, 2006 01:24 AM

hey, hoff!
i think that's so cool what u do. but i can't imagine how hard it probably is to judge those people (good or bad!).
i think that this whole thing is so exciting! bianca ryan is my fav! =P =D

Posted by: madison | July 30, 2006 02:29 AM

don't vote for rappin' granny! she can rap, i admitt. but,i think the only thing carrying her through is the fact that she's 72.
VOTE BIANCA RYAN! she has talent! she has the voice of an angel! vote for HER.

Posted by: kevo | July 30, 2006 04:37 AM

so if you want this show to be fair maybe you should try and split up the variety from the music. two weeks should be all music acts and two weeks should be all variety acts. is it really that hard to think through? it makes sense to me

Posted by: alex | July 30, 2006 06:18 AM

Hey Hoff !
love the show! Man you got to tell me how you can sit through all those bad preformances. I mean i would go nuts ! Anyways just wnat to let this out... Hi David,
I can't believe you guys picked the rappin granny over the magician this past week! What were you thinking??? At our home we all thought the magician that scared Brandy by coming up behind her was the best of the best on this weeks episode!

Posted by: pepsi mom | July 31, 2006 05:15 AM

I just read some of the other blogs! I agree with the many of the others. The rappin granny was not a million dollar act...Mr. Burton, the magician, certainly was. Please....bring him back again, he did great!

It's no wonder Jay Leno makes such bad comments about NBC...with your pic of who went through this week. RAPPIN GRANNY, come on...what were you thinking! We were on vacation & your show was the first one we watched as soon as we got back. The best talents of the night were first, the magician, Mr. Burton, followed by Bianca. I have to agree that the girl didn't pick a very good song for her to sing tonight, just seemed like she was yelling it too. I think Brandy & The Hoff need to be more honest...like Piers is. You basically told the girl in the green dress that just turned 12 that she didn't have what it takes (a little nicer way than Piers) but you still passed her through. I think Piers tells it like it is... most of the time we agree with his comments, he is the only one who has the guts to tell it like it is. Please let us know the same night the show semi-finals airs who the judges pick that night. That way we can vote for who we think is the next best talent. Our vote goes to Nathan Burton for last weeks episode! Judges....don't pass any more crappy acts through...rappin granny was one of the worst so far in the semi-finals! Very disappointed with your choice.

I LOVE YOU DAVID HASSELHOFF

Posted by: Emily | July 31, 2006 01:34 PM

First off, please let's cut the Lyn Henri=David Hasselhoff
stuff. I am sure that there is a lot of female fans that think that David Hasselhoff is a handsome guy & all but come on the truth, are you jealous cause you can't get someone & she thinks he is goodlooking? ARe you wanting to piss others off too? Why can you not just come on here & state what you think about DH & his shows, movies, etc. instead of starting sh*t with people? I like David Hasselhoff. I have seen him in Knight Rider. I haven't watched Baywatch, except in bits & pieces. I love America's Got Talent. I think he is a good looking guy. But he just went through a divorce that was in the media & might have been messy for him & his ex-wife & their families. Maybe he isn't wanting to settle down. But his private business is his private business. And if you start in on me with your nonsense, the truth, I will try & find you & start a lawsuit against you for slander & harrassment. Let's just show Mr. Hasselhoff how much we like him & his projects or if we don't.

Good luck David and cannot wait to see you in London. I love you so much honey.

Posted by: Melanie | July 31, 2006 04:33 PM

The show has lost all credibility as far as I'm concern when the judges' pick was Rapinng Granny. I was watching the show until then. If she wins the milllion, the show is officially total garbage.

Posted by: Mags | July 31, 2006 06:07 PM

I love David so much, I want to touch him.

Posted by: Mr Flaverton | July 31, 2006 07:00 PM

Got a Gran To Burn?
"Rappin Granny is a joke!"
She schreeches her deceit.
Or mumbles through false teeth
Missing the beat.

Her rhythms are all whack.
And her grimace of old age,
Suggests she should perhaps,
Just ge-ge-get down off the stage.

Years of life should add wisdom.
Character and style to boot.
But, a 72 year old thug,
Is anything but cute.

If America's got talent,
Why has Hasselhoff, Brandy and Piers bowed down,
To a wanna-be hip-hoppa,
Wearing Aunt Jemimas tattered old gown?

I've posted about 20 or more times. Anyone else who is a multi-poster, just give a shout out (only once this time please), and put down about how many posteratings you have done. Thanks.

The judges are a joke. How many times do we have to sit and listen to these judges say things like,"it's just not my thing"? ten 13 concept may not be the best ska band in the world but the judges have no idea what they are talking about! I don't even think the band should have been in the finals but the comments by the judges really irritated me!! They say alot of ignorant comments to a lot of good acts but they really don't know anything about ska and tell this band that they need to figure out what they want to be. I'm sure they know what they want to be...a ska band!! These judges don't know that there is music out there other than pop. ten 13 concept may not be the best but if a top ska band played for these judges they would probably critisize them with the same comments. AGT should have gotten judges that are aware of the wide variety of entertainment that exists.

Posted by: Ian | August 1, 2006 08:00 AM

OMG!!!! I just watched The Hoff's video for "Jump in my Car" and can't stop laughing!! They actually got this guy to judge talent!!! WOW...who would buy his music?????????

Posted by: Ian | August 1, 2006 08:12 AM

David,

You are my favorite judge do not quit and risk another judge like piers. we need you. don't quit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Email me at tay1794@alltel.net. Please don't quit. piers sucks. brandy is ok though.

Posted by: Taylor | August 1, 2006 05:02 PM

If Bianca Ryan would sing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" with that voice of hers, she'd knock this competition right out of the ballpark!!

Posted by: DB | August 1, 2006 05:33 PM

Bianca Ryan is a true talent! i was blown away by her voice.she should win this hands down. why oh why was rapping granny the judges choice? It was cute- but I saw no talent. Oh well Go Bianca! If you dont win the show is fixed- you are a star!!!

Posted by: Trish | August 1, 2006 07:31 PM

I am a real person. I have no idea about you, The Fabulous Mr Dumfangled Bumflicker.

Posted by: Michelle Glassman | August 2, 2006 03:31 PM

No one ever said that you will like every act or like what the judges pick, etc. Not everyone will agree with what or who you like. Let's just agree to diagree. I just know I like David Hasselhoff. Piers is kind of like Simon Coswell on American Idol. In fact, the way the hudges go on here is like that with aMERICAN IDOL. sIMON MIGHT BE WORKING ON THS SHOW LIKE AS A PRODUCER OR SOMETHING.

Posted by: Michelle Glassman | August 2, 2006 06:39 PM

Bianca is the talk of the town. She blew America away with her first performance and showed great diversity in the semi finals. I'm sure she will come through in the finals and show NBC and the judges what America already knows... BIANCA RYAN HAS TALENT! So much, that after her first performance I went out and rented Dreamgirls. It had been ages since I had seen this musical. When Jennifer Holiday sang the song "And I am telling you..." I got goosebumps and thought of Bianca. Man... this girl can sing. She must be on cloud 9 right now just knowing that she has all of America so excited with her beautiful voice. And Bianca is absolutely right.... when she sings it's like a black girl is inside of her.
GO BIANCA!!!!!!!!!!

Hey David,

This is a fun, lowbrow show, and is very entertaining to say the least. You have a tough job, and I think you're doing rather well. I was impressed when you set aside your personal prejudice against jugglers, and gave Kenny a check. I completely agreed with you when in the auditions you told the other two that by passing some mediocre juggling acts they were cutting out some good guys.

And I mostly agree with your decisions. However, I would like you to talk a little more about your opinions. I remember the "are you watching the same show I am". That was great. If you discuss your opinion a little bit more, that adds a lot of value to the show.

Lastly, a peeve: The final seems to be quickly turning into a music talent contest rather than a diverse talent contest. Of the 6 finalists so far, 5 are music-related. In fact, there are 3 singers/bands. While these are all great acts, I sincerely hope that you guys spice up the show by adding more diversity...if not through direct selection, then through the wildcard entries.

Nathan Burton was great - yeah, he used very standard magic tricks, but he has the talent to script great acts by applying those tricks...he is very entertaining.

And, I am waiting to see the young comic again.

Oh, and how's the hand now?

Posted by: Wailer | August 2, 2006 11:26 PM

After watching tonight's show, I had this comment to say to you judges. What the Heck! Remember to judge on talent and not how good they put on with the show. The human jugglers! Oh please, that's not TALENT!! You judges are mest up. You need to remember the title of the show, America's got talent. I personally think you have no idea of some of the talent that you have already emliminated. You ppl are so stupid!

Posted by: Douglas Biederman | August 3, 2006 01:39 AM

To the jerk Brit "judge":
Nice job, wanker! Way to make a 4 year old cry. Do you have kids? Go back to your stupid sensationalist "journalism". Tonight was the first time I watched the show, and will also be the last. You make me want to puke. Learn how to use a little tact! I fart in your general direction.

Posted by: Douglas Biederman | August 3, 2006 02:37 AM

WOW, everyone gives Piers a bum rap about his bluntness,Brandi is one rude backstabbing want to be judge. I remeber when she was just loving that old male stripper and is so rude to the female stripper.Brandi needs to GO!!!!!!! The show is bogus but funny

Posted by: sdc | August 3, 2006 02:40 AM

What I can't get over is how you became a judge on this show. Additionally, what kind of morons put a stripper on a family show, WITH CHILDREN IN THE AUDIENCE!!!! I am by no means a prude, and was a professional dancer for years and what Michelle did on there was appalling. The fact that you let your underdeveloped brain be ruled by your overactive hormones is a sad testament to the kind of man you are not. You, Piers and NBC owe America an apology.

Posted by: Lailie | August 3, 2006 02:48 AM

Hello David,
My comment is in regards to Brandi and the way she treated the burlesque dancer. It was uncalled for, I believe she did a really good job considering the fact that it is a family show. Brandi has no room to talk. Have you seen some of her photo's they are pretty sleazy. I believe she is just jealous. Also for her to tell the quick change couple that a different hairstyle may be needed. COME ON Brandy's turd on her forehead looks really ridiculous. She has no room to talk and should really think about what she says before she comes out on stage as a judge looking mighty ridiculous.
Thank you,

Posted by: Heather | August 3, 2006 02:50 AM

i simply loved the dancer and kit tonight. brady is truly a hater on the girl and piers said that just because his wife was sitting there. i voted for her and i would take class from her anyday. i thought she was very tasteful. keep doing your thing girl david loved it and so didn't america she's got my vote. brady is hatin on her now but she'll be flyin out to chi town to take lessons just watch america.

DAVID,, YOU ARE MY ROCK ....I HAVE HAD A CRUSH ON YOU SINCE YOU WORE THE LITTLE ORANGE SWIM SUITS ON BAY WATCH......... SOME OF THE VOTING I DO AGREE ON BUT SOME OF THESE TALENTS ARE A JOKE ...........I WATCH THE SHOW WEEKLY AND REALLY LOOK FORWARD IN HEARING WHO WILL WIN ..........LOVE YOU ,,,LINDA

Posted by: Linda | August 3, 2006 02:55 AM

Hey Hoff...we think if you and Brandy want to make it as judges you should ditch Morgan, the other judge.....

Posted by: Deb | August 3, 2006 02:59 AM

I'm sorry, but do you people remember the title of this show? What an insult to the four remaining acts, putting acts like a stripper and the worsts "rock" band I have ever seen. You are saying that the remaining acts were worse than that? Please!!!! And there was no talent there! And you put through two guys who push people on ropes around? I am very disappointed in you this week.

Posted by: Becky B | August 3, 2006 03:04 AM

hye i love americas got talent but there r a lot of wired acts well i just wanted to say how much i love the show!!!!!!! = )

Posted by: Lauren | August 3, 2006 03:08 AM

I can't even believe that Desperation Squad was even aloud to get on that stage....paaaleeez...they totally stunk. Who in the heck voted this crappy band to have a second chance? I can't believe some of the acts that got second chances and then other acts, that were better than that crap, got sent home....What is up with this show? It started out so entertaining, but each week it gets worse and worse. And then that stripper chick is aloud on the show....did anyone else see all the little kids in the audience that were hiding their faces??? This is suppose to be a show that families can watch together and then this skank comes on and throws off her clothes....not cool NBC. I hope if this show is on next season, I sure hope that they do things differently and only let through potential talent and not like the crap that was on TV tonight and on past shows.

Posted by: MJ | August 3, 2006 03:10 AM

You guys have disappointed me twice now, once with the rapping granny and the other with the no talent I can push people on a rope team.

Hope you do better when you sing.

Love the show-my whole family looks forward to Wednesday night because of it-However, I thought Brandy was cute in Cinderella and Moesha, since watching this show, I never realized how immature she is, by the comments and facial expressions she makes, she is like a little girl trying to fit in grown-up shoes-very unprofessional and immature-replace her and the show will be even better!

ey Hoff!!! just finished watching the show tonight, and i hope you do sing on the next show!!! who cares what brandy nad piers say?? america would definately vote for you anyways and unbiasedly....i wanna see piers get up there and sing!!! and as a professional musician of every instrument and a singer, i think brandy has very poor judgement of others voices-its obvious that all you need is money to put out an album like her, and fix it in the ercording studio hah in fact, i'm putting one out too-y not? so me and you can collborate!

sorry to be a post hog just went back to last week-how I sat and listened to all the judges say to take this seriously, reach the bar level-step it up and when they picked Rappin Granny who is adorable however, has a scratchy screaming voice with no talent whatsoever! I was shocked and disappointed that the judges especially pierce talked out of he ass when it came to Rappin Crappy"

Posted by: alyssa | August 3, 2006 03:22 AM

Hello,
I believe that you and Piers acted like 'pigs' when Michelle L'aMour displayed her ummm 'talent'. How degrading to women!
Love watching all the acts with actual talent especially the one's that get involved with keeping the kids outa' trouble and off the streets! Now that's talent!

Posted by: D. | August 3, 2006 03:23 AM

I just wanted to say I enjoyed the show before tonight when I saw this woman named Michelle L'aMour who "claimed" to have talent. What she had was NOT talent. She was just a dirty, slutty stripper on ruined a good tv show. I was also disappointed that the camera kept showing kids covering their eyes! At least they had the decency to cover their eyes instead of drooling like the male judges!

Posted by: t | August 3, 2006 03:25 AM

i love this show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i love you and piers( you're so nice, and piers just freakin tells it like it is), but uhhh...brandy? ugh....thats another story, she might be the ditsiest person I have ever met, I mean she couldn't multiply 6 times 8 if she had a calculator, hehe, but I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

Posted by: nicole | August 3, 2006 03:28 AM

David I really enjoyed the show this evening - with one exception. I couldn't believe Brandy didn't appreciate the burlesque act. Burlesque is a lost art. Yes I said art. I live in Baltimore and remember "the Block". Thanks to ties my husband had there working as a bouncer, I was lucky enough to meet several famous dancers. Unfortunately, even they weren't burlesque dancers. They were strippers and there is very little art to stripping. But burlesqus is art. That woman took off her clothes in a very sexy, talented enjoyable way. I am sorry Brandy couldn't be mature enough to at least appreciate the art if not the act.

Posted by: Bonnie | August 3, 2006 03:30 AM

I cannot believe you allowed a stripper on your show. Hello?! This is primetime! And then to have David and Alex Trebek praise her! So much for a family show. It's sad to see how much standards on television have deteriorated. Did you not notice all the kids in the audience that were covering their eyes? I praise the one judge who did not vote for her because of the fact that her performance was inappropriate and he did not like that his young kids had to see that. Apparently the other judges and Alex himself missed that. Very tasteless. Not sure if I'd watch again.

Hey David!
I really enjoyed the show tonight; seeing KITT and hearing the Knight Rider theme being played was the best! I was totally taken by surprise when KITT appeared. Seeing that beautiful car on that stage is just adding to my excitement of the trip I am taking to the 2006 Knight Nationals in 3 weeks...can't wait to see more KITT replicas. :-)

That's awesome that you are going to perform on tomorrow's show; I know you will do a fantastic job as always! Fans in the US are always asking me where they can get your albums, so I know everyone is gonna love your performance. :-)
Keep up the great work and God Bless!

There was a stripper? All I noticed was KITT! I don't own 4 seasons of "Knight Rider" for nothin'!

I hope you sing David! You were pretty good in the old TV shows.

Posted by: heather | August 3, 2006 04:02 AM

Hello;
Why am I not surprised that you people choose the jugglers. I remember doing the same thing as a child on our backyard clothesline.
Again, talent is the name of the show. Sean and John, Celtic Spring, that's talent. Please let Brandi know that Irish dancing is STIFF, that is the way it's done. Has she never seen or heard of Riverdance! And the performers of RD didn't play instruments, while they danced! By the way, it was a hit show in Europe and here and is still touring.
Piers, stop making children cry, especially in front of your own. Get rid of the parents and little brother! Really!
Paula

Posted by: Paula Goulet | August 3, 2006 04:03 AM

I think Piers owes Celtic Spring an apology. I understood and agree with his assessment that the group could use better backup accompaniment, but it takes an incredible ass to tell a family act that their only chance for success is to "lose your parents and your little brother". It would have been far better to suggest they hire some professional musicians to "help" mom and dad and their 6 year old sibling. Clearly this is a family act and has been for 17 years. Piers should have acknowledged and respected that.

Posted by: Duane | August 3, 2006 04:17 AM

Dear David;
Greetings from the Rivette family. Ever since we saw you perform in Jekyll&Hyde with our sister Andrea in the Broadway movie adaptation (we own the DVD) we knew you could truly sing and act in a tour de force performance. We appreciate your kind comments to the diverse performers and look forward to your singing on the show just to shut Piers up. For anyone who wishes to be influenced in their voting please consider Celtic Spring. Rarely do you see a tight knit family working together so hard in this country. They have achieved what most parents dream of, talented children who support each other and work together to create something greater as a family. Good luck with everything David. Hope to see you sometime on stage when you tour the South or perhaps in NYC...Sincerely, The Rivettes

Posted by: Richard Rivette | August 3, 2006 04:21 AM

I think I saw camel toe. Are you allowed to show that on TV?

Posted by: Kelly | August 3, 2006 04:34 AM

Piers Morgan is a senseless jerk. honestly, who makes little children cry on national telivision. I'm so sick of him pretending to be Simon off American Idol.

Posted by: Sandy Fitzpatrick | August 3, 2006 04:49 AM

I thought George Kelly was great! How can you say the "singing tonight was lousy" and include him. Not to start flames, he has a better voice than Bianca and I voted for him tonight. He will make something of his voice or do something else in his life. So far, we need some wild cards to balance the judges. Some of these non singers can go to Las Vegas or Atlantic City. Most singers/dancers need the lessons to develop the voices. I certainly won't buy a DVD of a juggler, but I will buy a singer.

Posted by: Fancy | August 3, 2006 04:56 AM

TO all those prude out there go get a real life. This is just a funny show and 99% of the people know that this is a very funny show. (JERRY)

Posted by: JERRY | August 3, 2006 05:01 AM

I was so very disappointed in tonight's show.....6 out of the 10 acts were in the "HORRIBLE" category. Yet, there was an 11 year old tap dancer sitting and waiting to hear his name, Aaron Burr, called. He is many times better than the 2 tap dancers who were selected. He acts and dances in "Dr. Doolittle" and won the GMA first place award when they had young people auditon earlier this year. I'm sure the other 4 acts who weren't chosen were much better than that SLEAZ Michelle. I can't believe that Donald Trump didn't pull you male judges off the judge list when she appeared the first time. Terrible to have her strip in front of all those little children in the audience. SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!Quick Change is an old act which has been on TV many times before.....they still didn't have anything new to show when they were on the first time, either. Then there was the most horrible of all..."Desparation Squad"...they should have been out on the street and not up on the stage. I just couldn't believe it....Dave Smith also was just as bad. The unicycles do help a lot of kids keep off the streets. For the most part the show was HORRIFIC.....Get your Mind out of the Gutter and apologize to the 5 acts that didn't get called up tonight. I think they should be given another chance. Thank you for letting me bring this to your attention. Hooray for Brandi for saying that she wasn't a part of selecting Desparation Squad and I'm sure she had NOTHING to do with the "SLEAZ" Michelle. She didn't like her the first time....how did she get selected???????

David, I was rather disappointed that you and Pierce got the stripper on the stage. I thought this is a family show - and I did notice there were many children in the audience. I also had a 5-year-old sitting next to me asking why was this lady taking her clothes off. How would you explain this to be a talent? A form of art maybe.

Posted by: Meitzi | August 3, 2006 05:40 AM

I can not believe that this show approved a stripper act. This was absolutely inappropriate! I will never watch this show again! I will not support any one that uses such indecency to promote the show. This is just another immature act that shows that the majority of people have flushed morals down the toilet. I am even more frustrated that Hoff vote for the stripper. You are supposed to be looking for real talent. I have lost all respect for Hoff. THIS SHOW IS COMPLETELY DISTASTEFUL AND I WILL NEVER WATCH IT AGAIN!

Posted by: Amber | August 3, 2006 05:55 AM

Ok, so tonight i have some concerns with the show. The first is this: What the hell is up with Brandi's hair doo? Is this a retro ""Betty Crocker" with hair gel or what? Gimme a break. Then she has the bias to dis the burelesque dancer cuz disney ownes her? SELL OUT!!!
David, ya know we love ya but stay away from the gay waredrobe. Ya got appeal just not in the "fruity" garb that you don on the show.
"Peeeers"!!!!! Stop the Simon wanna be stuff and just keep it real ( like you did tonight ) and next time, leave the kids at home.

Posted by: Huey | August 3, 2006 06:01 AM

Allowing a stripper on the show was horrible. I expect more from a family show. I don't know what kind of ratings you think that you will get by airing this crap, but as for me, I will have nothing to do with it. I respect the human body and its beauty. A stripper is an absolute disgrace. Take the trash off the air and keep it off!

David, I think you are great! I also LOVE Piers! even though some people get mad at him for his choices, he is usually right on with the advice he gives, you rock Piers! But Brandy is terrible and I think the show would be better if she was off. She gives a very negative vibe with everything, she is a has been and never was and is not in the position to be a judge on talent because she has none.

Not to mention she totally SUCKED!! ewwww! I mean come on! oh and the punk band wearing the "we sell beer" tshirt is just wrong! I dont think they could even get a gig at some crummy podunk bar in monkey egypt!

I love the judges and thanks for the honesty P!

Is this the Brandy Norwood who was complaining about the stripper (Michelle):
http://www.wallpaperbase.com/wallpapers/celebs/brandynorwood/brandy_norwood_1.jpg
http://img100.exs.cx/img100/9391/bvibe.jpg

I think Michelle knew fully well she wouldn't make it to the final, and the bra toss was basically a slap in the girl's face. Or maybe it was a challenge. Either ways, Brandy is skating on thin ice. Everyone remembers her enjoying the "world's oldest male stripper"'s performance.

About the show, I think the judges were spot on in their comments on George Kelly. I think he has an amazing voice. And he sung really well...the little hair on my neck stood up when he sang. But I too got a feeling that he hadn't really put his heart and soul into the song...I don't know...maybe he's English lyrics don't inspire him, or whatever...but he sure has a great career ahead of him.

Lilia Stepanova and Quick Change were amazing, though repetitive. They definitely have some of the best talent America's got to offer.

I do think though that Quick Change are a one-trick pony and that their talent is more about equipment than about skill. But as long as I don't know about it, and they keep me amazed and entertained, thumbs up to them.

That kind of reminds me of Nathan Burton. His magic is 5% talent and 95% equipment. However, I think he is a very gifted producer, and puts together imaginative acts. His repertoire of tricks is mediocre and pretty standard for any street magician, but he applies it extremely well and creates novel and entertaining acts.

I think Celtic Spring were good, but I do agree with "the Brit". Families performing on stage is all sweet and cutesy, but all those booing his comments should think about talent and performance for a moment.

Now, I don't agree with all his decisions (I didnt think Michelle belonged in the semifinal), but people, if you praise everyone, you praise no one. As a judge he is doing a favor by providing criticism to the acts. Of course, it is just his opinions and people are free to take or reject his advice.

Lastly, this is to all the people who have written angry notes on this blog, expressing concerns about credibility et al: C'mon people, knock it off. You and I and all others know fully well that this is a lowbrow show. It is not a talent hunt, it is entertainment. The winner of the million dollars would unlikely be the most talented American. So take everything on the show with a pinch of salt. And think of the show in terms of a TV tabloid story.

P.S. - 3 points people:

1. Why is everyone surprised that the Baywatch star gave a check to Michelle "the stripper"?

2. Yes, yes, we did see the children covering their eyes. The camera took great pains to show us that. However why were the children there in the audience? Were the parents so irrensponsible? After all Michelle was among those shortlisted for the semifinal and had a 10 in 14 chance (i.e 72% chance) of being one of the acts. So why complain later on?

3. I miss the little comedienne. I don't understand...when these people had created a shortlist for the semis, then why leave out a few people...why not watch the performances of all 14 and then decide?

I REALLY hope you read these!!! HI!!!!!! *jumps for joy & waves* This may be the closest I ever get to meeting you, so I hafta freak out while I can.
I was watching Baywatch Hawaii & Baywatch Night up until August 1st, now I hafta talk my Mom into buying the channels for our satellitte - but I'ma offer to pay - THAT'S how badly I wanna see you. I LOVE Baywatch!!! It's my favourite show!!! I LOVE when you get those know-it-all grins on the show! I LIVE for those! You only really seemed to do 'em on Baywatch too - don't think I've seen one on Knight Rider or America's Got Talent. I missed out on Click, I had to work. But my Dad & his friend enjoyed it.

When the brulesque dancer came out tonight, I *SO* knew that car was Kit!!! I figured she was gonna spoof you somehow, when she said you'd better watch. Not fond of her, but I liked the Knight Rider reminder. Hehe.

Bianca Ryan is BY FAR my favourite on A.G.T. She SO has to win the million dollars! I'll do EVERYthing in my power to help her out! She gives me chills everytime she sings!

COME TO CANADA!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!! Preferably Ottawa!!! Though, I doubt anybody would take me to see you. Your one man, whose the same age as my Dad, & not a Backstreet Boy - so, they probably won't drive me there & back again, unless *I* win a million dollars. But some day - I hope - we shall meet! I'm sick of being jealous of everybody who meets you. All I want is a hug! Is THAT too much to ask???

OH! And I LOVE hearing you sing! I downloaded the Baywatch theme song onto my MP3 Player, as that was the only song I could find. Hopefully, I find more soon! *big grin*

Love yah always! *hugs*

George Kelly looks likes a somewhat dimunitive version of the Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan.

A blog is the entity in which you post. This entry was a post - next week it will be the same blog, new post. So saying "check out next week's blog" makes no sense, when you mean check out next week's update, entry or post. I think it's important to use the correct lingo/verbage here.

Posted by: Kvetch | August 3, 2006 03:21 PM

Kvetch, what are you, stupid or something? When have you seen the correct language being used on the show? Forget tech lingo, even the English is faulty. Just one example: Everyone keeps saying "Who will America choose?" That is lousy English. It is should be "Whom", not "Who". Again this is just one of the numerous linguistic inaccuracies on the show, and on this blog. Of course, the comments posted are a goldmine for guffaws.

Hmm...Mr.Loudmouth (that's me), look who's talking. I typed "It is should be whom"...actually I meant to type just one of "is" and "should be".

Unfortunately, though there is some really good talent showcased each week, the show is fast los
