Future Hiro clearly travelled back in time to talk to Peter. Told Peter to Save the Cheerleader. Perhaps what could've changed was Isaac not answering. Or when Peter ranted about saving a cheerleader and Mohinder thought Peter was crazy.

I think it's crucial that Peter obtain the power to regenerate. Mohinder said so himself that Peter is probably the most important player to his research. Regeneration helps Peter stay alive.

If you ask me, here's what needs to happen. Hiro needs to go back and tell Suresh to "Save the Cheerleader, Save the world", not Peter. If Peter never goes on the trek that he went on to save Claire, it would have changed everything. I know that people will ask how Suresh could have saved her without powers, but I think it has to be him.

Since the beginning of Heroes, my work colleagues and I have been trying to decide if Peter can receive (absorb) powers that he has not personally seen. i.e. just because he meets someone with powers does he obtain said powers? Or does Peter need to see the power in use to mimic/copy it?

I think that Peter is somehow connected to everyone he meets. But this does not necessarily give him there abilities. Peter knew Nathan could fly, Peter dreamed about Nathan's crash, but Peter could not fly until he saw (or remembered seeing) Nathan fly.

That being said,

Peter will not become the bomb (IF Peter IS the bomb), until Peter meets Ted and sees him use his power. That has not yet happened. If Peter was in the same vicinity with Ted, he most certainly did not see Ted go nuclear. This will not be an issue since Ted is going to be in NYC soon.

Peter has been in the presence of Sylar, but has only witnessed a small number of his powers. He has not seen melting objects, super memory, or super hearing etc. So Peter has not gained these powers himself.

Since I am off in theory land, here is another one.

I think that Simone’s father had a power, that he was a part of “The Group” with Peter’s Mother and maybe Linderman. I think that Simone’s father’s power is to enter other people’s dreams. Now if Peter learns how to use this power (he saw it in action) he would be able to absorb powers he sees others use in there dreams. Trouble is discerning between actual powers and those normal people simply dream of having.

Also if Simone’s father had a power Simone will have a power. So, I hope… I just hope that Simone is not gone. I hope that if Simone is not gone, that she is not a bad or evil person. And I hope that the writers are reading this.

Also, what if Peter is the bomb? What if he decides to explode ON PURPOSE? The tracking system is in New York isn’t it? Is this going to be the only way to take down the tracking system? Did Linderman put it there knowing that? Linderman always has a plan and gets his way doesn’t he?

Are you talking about Homecoming? Peter falls ill because he had absorbed too many powers in a short period of time. ie. Claire and Skylar.

I think it's referring to possibly the next episode. We know Ted, Parkman and HRG are headed to New York to stop the tracker.

i believe the one thing that must be stopped is peter petrelli being taken into police custody. since ted was being held in one of the same cells, peter has no idea why he suddenly falls ill... something to do with radiation poisoning. if peter never goes to the station on that day, he never will have absorbed teds powers, so he, himself, will not explode, and the only other thing is that ted will have to be controlled. problem solved.

we'll see next season i bet, since i think the rest of this season will be in a post apocalyptic future, from which only hiro (and peter) can pull out of.

I'm wondering if there isn't more to this than just the charliea e-mail address...specifically, the phrases he uses bring up JoJo's Bizarre Adventure connotations, which Hiro uses quite often.

"A mask" = the stone masks that appear in parts 1 and 2, and which Dio uses to become a vampire

"bound by fortune" = in part 3 Dio's minion Enya has the Fortune stand

"on death row" = part 6 takes place in a prison, and some of the characters are on death row I believe; Dio also plays a large part in the plot despite being dead

So either numerologically the numbers 1/2, 3 and 6 might be significant, or perhaps the name Dio is significant.

And how is it that Hiros father managers to know exactly where he is, in all of america he just happens to know where and when to send the goons (yes you could use artistic license on the last one).

All my countless hours of research these last few months keep bringing me to very interesting coincidences that reference genetics, history, codes, SOMA, super human abilities, The Age of Aquarius, world myths & legend, other comics and literature, Japan & WWII, nuclear bombs... among many many other things.

The Fat Man was a nuclear bomb dropped on Nagasaki Japan by The US. I believe that maybe WWII is the event that has to be stopped. This would also save his grandfather.. who was most likely a hero himself.

In my researching each location on google earth visible on Suresh's map, each location has some type of alarming story in the past or present.

I believe that this story.. is so much more than 360 entertainment.

here is a list of events that happened on October 4, 2006.

* Peter confronts Nathan at his campaign headquarters about how he can no longer fly.

You all know that it was not Claire that was with Peter in his dream of exploding, She was in the cheerleading outfit, but she ditches that, so either it is just a dream, or if it is seeing the future, then I believe it is Hana that is with him, not Claire.

Sylar WAS the exploding man first, but then Peter saved Claire and now Peter will be the exploding man unless they can find a way to stop it.
That's why the future didn't change for Future Hiro. Someone still exploded.
He came back to the future after talking to Peter expecting things to be different
but his memories are still intact so until he learns what/who/why as far as he knows Sylar still exploded,
he's about to find out that it wasn't sylar though.
That's the point the comic & the last episode left us all at.
We need to learn what causes Peter to explode. Is it going to be something like when he newly aquires a power and doesn't have control over it yet? Does he lose his temper over something,
does something cause him to react automatically from fear or anger and lose control?

i retract my last statment, after further investigation. i maintian though that sylar is the exploding man.

so if the email to hana says that he figured out that october 4th, 2006 is the date he needs to go to to fix everything, what incident is this refering to?? the best i can guess is thats the day he went back and talked to Peter. but he also says the chai reaction this causes should fix everything. by telling peter to save claire shouldnt still not cause the bomb, because in the comic "string theory" sylar explodes still after killing claire. so i think there has to be another event he wanted to stop from happening. any guesses?

A few things here... from the last episode, first of all, the quote "A life forever trapped in time, made immortal." This is Isaac. Immortal refers to his paintings. Painters immortalize their subjects. He is also going to show the heroes how to kill Sylar and with Hiro going back in time constantly, he is going to be regularly dealing with Isaac. On top of that, Sylar is not going to die. He is going to eat the shape shifting chick, and once the bomb goes off, which it will, Nathan will be dead. He will have already won the election, but it wont matter. Sylar is working for Linderman. Linderman uses Nathan as a figurehead. Nathan dies trying to save his brother. Sylar takes on Nathan's life, even going so far as becoming President of the United States. Linderman has the ultimate pawn. Check and mate.

in regards to Diane4747 asking about Trunks and a time machine... I think the reference is to an anime character named Trunks from a show called Dragon Ball Z, in which Trunks goes back in time to try and stop devastation that has already happened in the future. But by going backwards in time to change the future, he creates a rift of sorts, and (I think this is how it was explained -- it's been a loooong time since I saw that show) by creating a new future, he created a parallel universe of sorts where the devastation never happened. By doing this, Trunks could not go back to his future and see it changed by his interference. His devastated future would still exist, but he created a new parallel future for those who had not experienced it yet... At least that's how I remember it being anyway.

Bottom line though, Trunks had a time machine and went backwards in time to stop devastation that had occured. If I'm not mistaken, I believe he also warned another character of his death that would occur in the future as well, and was able to prevent it by warning him.

diane, trunks is a character on dragonball z. if i remember correctly, he was a timetravelling character, like hiro, but he did not do so by special abilities, but rather by his ship (time machine). trunks travelled into his past which was goku's present (like how future hiro travelled to peter's present). hope that explains the reference a bit.
