So, I really didn't want to come to work today. I finally got to the final boss but ran out of elixirs and my party wiped! Frustrating. It was time for work, so I went to the train station. I was hoping for the train to not come. I prayed really hard. 7:42:00 AM. Yes! The train didn't come. So I thought. 7:42:14 AM, the train arrives. But it's strange, the train is never late. Maybe I could use the force. Am I a Jedi? I tried using my Jedi mind tricks on the train conductor. You will stop the train. You will stop the train. Didn't work. Hmm. Still strange though. Must continue experimentation later. For now back to work.

#1, Britain ownED India. Being professors, they are going to speak english. I don't know a lot of history but I do know enough just from watching ballywood(Hindi movies.)

#2 The two guys singing in the background were kareok'n and making fun of the two azn boiz on you-tube. That's what the story writters were alluding to. That's how the u-tube boiz were dressed. I thought that was funny as hell.

Not true in the slightest. I know plenty of people who like both. Hell, I even know people who like all three (Trek, original trilogy, and prequels).

Anyway, Hiro, one thing: X-Men #143 wasn't a time-travel issue, it was a Christmas/demon issue. #141 is the one you were referring to, and 'Kitty' Pryde didn't time-travel at all, iirc. 'Kate' Pryde-Rasputin (same person, but different circumstances) did, and it was an alternate reality rather than just the future (evident by the presence of Rachel Summers).

If I'm not mistaken, the two kids weren't singing the song, they were simply Lip-Synching along with it. I'm not sure how realistic that is, those of you from Japan, but given what Japanese entertainment is typically portrayed as to us Americans (The target audience) it seemed believable enough. The Kanji Items look Kitsch, or Cheesy, perhaps the kind of things a Geek would own, or a Nightclub would put up for a laugh here. (My friend has a binary clock for example.)

As for the Indian Dr. I think him being fluent in english makes perfect sense. If you notice, he's got a hint of a british accent, I think this is easily explainable as him and his father before him, are both college level teachers, and probably from a region that was British-controlled for some time, it's not uncommon for people of such reasons to speak good (if slightly accented with Indian inflection,and British sensibility) American English.

Hiro, just so you know...I have a Final Fantasy XII Fran costume that I'd be happy to show off to you anytime.

I think it's funny, all the people complaining about the Japanese in the show.

Yes, it was a little overdone, and yes, the accents were strong, but try to tell me that's a new phenomenon in television.

I lived in Japan for a long time, and all I can say is: look at the Americans portrayed on Japanese TV. Ridiculously overdone, but therein lies the entertainment.

The point is that the average viewer won't appreciate the idea that a foreigner is just a normal guy, and won't be able to notice things like accents that easily. Maybe a little lazy on the part of the producers, but much easier, and even a Japanese speaker like me can't blame them.

Plus, Hiro's a likable character. So stop sweating the small stuff and enjoy the show!

I guess I'm not fluent in Japanese, but the spoken Japanese seemed decent enough to me. (No, it's not Korean, bo bo.) Maybe it's just because I hear Japanese most in anime, and anime is slangy as all hell?

Hiro is for sure my favorite hero so far, after seeing the first episode. That constipated look he gets is quite awesome.

As for your co-worker, I really have to pay attention or read the sub title to understand what he is saying. His accent is strong. I don't know why they couldn't use another Japanese actor. I hate otaku. I don't conisder myself a otaku, I'm actually Japanese for real, well almost. I will be when I live in Japan though. Right now I'm studying japanese, japanese history and I'm following Bushido, the way of the warrior. This is why I hate otaku that know 5 words in japanese and use them all the time, kawaai baka DESU NE DUMBASS. I'm actually trying to become Japanese for real unlike all these fakers. F YOU OTAKUS

Hey Hiro Im looking for a bento box, it cant be pinku (thats japanese for pink) or any girl color. It has to be
of 2 or more kotoba (thats japanese for 2 compartments) and has be be chibi (small) sized. And
has to be really kawaii (cute). Also It has to be about 10-20 bux. And you have to post pics of it
first (i want to make shure it's kawaii [cute]). And it would be nice if it came with matching
chopstick holder (WITH chopsticks). OH! and it CANNOT have any cartoon pictures, or be made
out of plastic. It has to be made of ceramic, or something like that. Also it would be nice if it was
made in japan. and not in china or corea (korea) or whatever. I have found a bento box similar to
the one im describing in e-bay, but it was 1 kotoba, and i dont want my gohan (rice) to touch my
other things (it can get wet and i would not like that, plus 2 compartments looks more kawaii)

Hiro has the heart of a Hero! It is interesting to see a person who discovers powers who really wants to be a hero. I hope that Hiro maintains that attitude and his virtue. There are many sayings about virtue, heroism, and responsibility; these ideals have a purpose to inspire us to strive to be the best we can be.

Great Strength and "Super-Human" powers can pose a great threat to humanity, unless wielded by a person of Virtue. It appears to me that Hiro is a person who aspires to be a hero. So far he has mentioned many stories that I too have admired, and hopefully learned something from. While some sneer at comics like the X-men, or Star Trek or Star Wars, it has often been through fictional stories that many valuable lessons have been taught through the ages. In the past it was classics such as the Illyad and the Oddesey, Shakespere's Henry V, the 47 Ronin, or the Red Badge of Courage. I am hoping that Heroes will prove to be such a story.

Duty, it is the most sublime word in the English language, you can never do more, you should never wish to do less.

That honor you feel is going to lead you to be the one to embrace your powers I think. I'm waiting for you to get lost in time and come out 200 years old or something. Your character is going to be the hit of the show!

Hiro, you are by far the most...personable character so far. You mention X-Men, star Trek and basically what a lot of people do if they are in to some form of fantasy or sc-fi stuff. The other characters are cool too but you act like what a lot of people would do if they got your power. More realistic. By the way? What happens if the government finds out?

Just out of curiosity, did the makers of this show even consult with a Japanese person? And not a Japanese American, but someone actually FROM Japan.

Its cool they have an Asian superhero, but its kind of tacky how overdone the scenes were.

First of all, nobody in Japan uses a clock written with Japanese numbers. Same with the bar scene- Kids singing Backstreet Boys in perfect English, kanji characters for bathroom signs, and American beer bottles.

For a show with such a big production, I was expecting more research/consulting on NBCs part. To anyone who knows Japanese, you will know what I am saying.

Im sure the people from India will have the same gripe with their character.

The worst part of it all, is the spoken Japanese. It is god awful. Hiro is decent to alright, but his co-worker's Japanese not only got worse as the show went on, but embarassingly bad in the end.

I will continue to watch the show, because it is interesting, but I will also cringe everytime a badly portrayed Japan with horrible Japanese speaking is shown.

Come on, LOST at least has real Koreans, you would think Heroes could have done the same.

As I already said, unless you speak Japanese, and know Japan (country and culture), you probably will have no idea what this post is about. For those of you who do, Im sure you will agree with me, but like me, wont let it make you stop watching the show.

One cool thing was they used a Puffy song which was real, granted it was a song from almost 10 years ago.
