Characters that changed the most from their original conception

Tim: The character that went through the most change for me was Jack Coleman's character - Claire's father. Because if you paid close attention to the pilot, he only had about 8 lines of dialog. While I always imagined he'd have a presence on the show, I never imaged the big role he had and a lot of that is because of the chemistry between him and Claire. And in many ways, the most central relationship of the entire season was that between Claire and her father.

Hayden: You know, I think that in the beginning she was a normal girl dealing with normal things who wanted to date the quarterback and just fit in. I think it was a fabulous idea to make her a cheerleader cause it made her relatable to people - it reminded people of normal adolescent behavior.

And she discovers this thing she has and she looks at it as the worst thing in the world. To a teenager, it was completely dramatic, but over the course of the season she's evolved into a young woman with a beautiful naiveté who is still a young girl but who has come into her own, who has learned to embrace who she is and the ability that she's been given.

Tim: She literally became a hero. She went through the hero's journey: from reluctant and unwilling to someone who is willing to make the ultimate sacrifices. So in some ways, she's the most heroic character on the show.

Not just Mohinder and Mr. Bennet, don't forget that Ando also survived. So really all the people with no abilities lived, and I'm very happy about that.

I'm surprised that HRG's character even stayed alive in the season, considering he is the only one besides Mohinder who dosen't have an ability. And Mohinder was needed, 'cause he's the genetisist who brings all the characters together. HRG was just a caring father who had a secret.

This is an amazingly well written show. I hope your stable of writers doesn't turn over in a clump, as sometimes happens. The good ones get hired away, and next season's episodes falter until the new crew gets up to speed. I can usually tell, and then the credits bear me out. I noticed that you, Tim, wrote this final episode. Are you planning to write the tie-up to each season? How about episodes throughout the season?

id say the character that changed the most has to be jessica she was evil and then for the sake of micah and DL she helped out Nikki

On a message board people think Peter has Meredith's ability bc of the fire vs. ice scene. On the EW cover he also has a flame, but that cover was in reference to tonight's episode, so does that just mean Peter made Ted's ability look like a flame? I need to settle this dispute

I noticed that endings of episodes and thier concurrent starting scenes are different in scenery and dialog. Was this done on purpose?

HRG Rocks! He better be back for future episodes.

HRG did go through a lot of change.In the first few episodes he's pretty much seen as the face of evil,and then we get to see that he really cares about keeping his family safe.
Claire is a really awesome character I can totally relate to.Her story also shows us that anyone,even a teenager can be a hero.

i missed the first half of the season, but i was able to see that change in HRG's character. very deep and profound.

I found it strange that the show's premise suggests that people all over the world are manifesting special abilities, but the majority of 'heroes' for this first season are in North America and from the USA. Will next season's cast/ storylines better reflect the international scope of human evolution (now that the show has a faithful following who relate strongly with this mostly American original cast)?

How did you manage to juggle so many intricate stories over several writers? Did it get confusing to write individual plots, while keeping an overarching storyline? What kind of communication was there between the writers?

I can't believe I almost passed up this awesome show :) Congrats on a great season!!!

My question is (if you get to it) what can we expect to see for season 1 DVD extras?
