Following the same Heroes for the whole series

The great thing about this premise (that people all over the world are developing these abilities) is that we can always introduce new characters. The "origin story" is a lot of fun to watch. So we are planning to give the audience that on a regular basis. Some characters that you may love could suddenly lose their powers, or die. There’s no telling.

THERE IS A REAL LIVING ARTIST WHO CAN PAINT THE FUTURE BEFORE IT HAPPENS LIVING IN NEW YORK CITY, HIS NAME IS EELE. I SAW HIM AT HUNTER COLLEGE NEW YORK CITY ON APRIL 22,2005.
ONE OF THE STUDENT ARTS CLUB AT HUNTER COLLEGE INVITED EELE TO PRESENT HIS PREMONITION ART.
AT THE HUNTER COLLEGE PRESENTATION EELE SHOWED HIS PREMONITION ART ON KATRINA AND RITA (YOU MAY REMEMBER THAT KATRINA AND RITA HAPPENED IN AUGUST 2005). BECAUSE OF EELE'S PREMONITION ART I WAS ABLE TO MOVE MY FAMILY OUT OF HARM'S WAY, MONTH'S BEFORE BOTH STORMS HIT.

EELE ALSO SHOWED ART WORK THAT HE WAS STILL WORKING ON ABOUT A BUS BLOWING UP IN TIMES SQUARE NEW YORK CITY BECAUSE OF TERRORISM. ( ON HEROES, ISSAC'S BUS BLOWS UP IN ISRAEL BECAUSE OF TERRORISM). EELE ALSO SHOWED ARTWORK ON SEPTEMBER 11,2001 THAT HE PAINTED IN JANUARY 2001. HE TOLD THE AUDIENCE HOW HE AND HIS TWIN HAD COME TO NEW YORK CITY TO STOP SEPTEMBER 11,2001 WITH THEIR PREMONITION ART BEFORE IT HAPPENED. Was it the Chinese Karaoke guys in the 2nd episode or did it just look like them?

Your portrayal of Hiro was stereotypical, one dimensional, and frankly, a disappointment. Wow, an Asian male who loves Star Trek, anime, uses his powers to teleport himself into the ladies room, how original! The anachronistic send up of the web video of CHINESE guys singing Backstreet boys karaoke in a JAPANESE bar, I was underwhelmed. If you're going to depict Asian men in this way, you might as well go all out, how about some Ming the Merciless or Fu Manchu references while you're at it? More Hollywood crap from NBC.

Fantastic, character-driven drama! I'm hooked (well, only if you don't move the show opposite "Desparate Housewives"!)! One episode, and I already care immensely about the characters, so, PLEASE, don't kill any of 'em off! Wonderful to see a cast of such ethnic diversity,too!

I'll be the blackman who is in trouble with long sharks; since he is capable of walking through walls he always escape thier vises.

I'm definitely impressed and can tell already that this show has great potential if done correctly. I'm an avid fan of "super heroes" and to actually see something unique in a weekly show that is NOT Smallville is awesome. I'll be watching religiously! :)

Like the idea of new heroes, kinda saw that one coming for future episodes but not sure I like the killing off of the good characters like Suresh and Hiro and the brothers and the painter. Going to keep watching and hoping none of the really good ones get knocked off. Oh and how brilliant to have Hiro speak his own language. Diversity in the cast is going to be great.

Miguel Ferrer's going to come in and be the coolest one yet, right? Especially if he's the one that gets the axe on CJ (If someone's dying, my money's on the old alcoholic...)

I agree, you shouldn't change the main characters once you start (unless they want to leave the show). It could hurt the ratings, if you ask me. We have already been introduced to these people and their faces, to change could mean death to Heroes. I would suggest "guest" hereos.

I also love the idea of the downloads you guys are going to provide. Great way to increase the fan base and the fun for us. Love it! Also a great way to increase word-of-mouth. Good thinking!

I love the idea of meeting new characters, and especially of origin stories (I love origin stories). And I understand the need for tension in writing (and TV). But oh, I hope you don't kill off any of my favourite characters! Tension, drama, hurdles to overcome, even losing powers, I understand. But killing off a hero...ug. Looking forward to watching more. :)

About the Painter, will his desire to get off the drugs affect his abilities? Does the drug inhibit his mind enough to allow him to see beyond the veil of fate and if so will his gift need to be fed.

Was he onto something when he assumed getting off the drugs would make his visions stop? Because he did say he didn't remember painting them and if he's in full control of his body and mind, could he just tone them out or would he simply not be receptive to his gift...or is that curse?

Not all power comes from our strength, sometimes is is borne from our weaknesses, the frailities that make us human?

I hope if they die they stay dead, I don't want any cheesy comic book style "rebirths." Or, "It turned out that was just Hiro's clone!!"

Well, I think you said it: "fun to watch". I'm not much of a "figure out what's coming next" guy. I just enjoy watching the story unfold. I look forward to watching every episode of this one. Thanks!

ONE THING I HAVE ALWAYS NOTICED IS THAT WHEN YOU KILL OFF FAVORITE CHARACTERS THAT PEOPLE TEND TO STOP WATCHING ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT LOOSING VEIWERS BY KILLING OFF OR NOT KEEPING A SET NUMBER OF MAIN CHARACTERS?

A follow-up on Rebecca Elias's comment. Are you going to have regular chats with us? This is great, especially at the beginning of the show when some of us are a little clueless. The chats could help us understand the show later on and perhaps give you ideas and feedback.

I think it will be interesting to see whether or not their powers grow or can be developed. Maybe even shared?

Every good thing comes to an end. It sucks when characters get killed off shows and you've gotten use to them. However the show must go on. Do you have an idea of how many Heros you'll introduce us to?

How will the artist who percieve the future grow? I believe that his growth and certain others may be key to also attract intellectual viewers.

It would suck if you killed any of the originals!! I am already used to seeign their faces!!

All praise Joss, you have to give him credit all his shows are off the air but the fans still live on.

Keep it like the pilot and you have gold. I'm so glad SOMEONE is finally making a character driven show in an age of special effects and giant mysterious plots. If you dont care about what happens to the characters then whats the point. Good job keep up the good work!

One last note: part of the success behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer was Joss Whedon's attentiveness to his fans and their opinions of character development, etc. This blog was an excellent idea and a sure-fire way to ensure the success of your show...
