Josh Brolin/Adele

Hello! This is the first chance I've gotten to write about the show.
We just finished doing ten shows in eight weeks. It was intense, and now seems like a blur.
Most of all it was fun. So many special guests and former castmates. It seems like the writers and cast spent pretty much every waking hour at 30 Rock.
Okay, so the Josh Brolin/Adele show.
This might have been the last Saturday episode that Amy was around.
She was really huge, but still working hard as ever.
I remember her writing that Palin rap. She was walking around with this sheet of paper just adding lines. Andy added some good lines too. I see that people are asking about the "I'm No Angel" sketch. The one where Amy and Josh are at a bar and she has a hard time getting over to him.
I've heard that the reason some videos don't get posted is because of music clearing issues. It's apparently a big deal getting the rights to some songs for reruns and online content. My suggestion is to just search online. If you look hard enough you can find uploads of various sketches. That one I loved. Such a well done, brilliant Idea written by Emily Spivey and Amy. And that song was perfect for it! And Amy doing that rap was so inspired. When I watch it, it's easy to forget how pregnant she is.
The photos below are from this film shoot we did. We had a special guest filmmaker, Noah Baumbach. He wrote and directed "Margot at the Wedding" and "The Squid and the Whale". He shot this piece that aired towards the end of the show, called "New York Underground with Trevor Dix". Bill played this British host of a TV show and I was this self indulgent singer/songwriter called Joshua Rainhorn. It was really fun to do, especially because the other cast members got to play members of fictional bands for these photos. Noah was incredible to work with. What a sweet guy and he does amazing work. Thanks and I'll get to the other episodes as soon as I can.

Bill on location. We shot it at The Living Room in the East Village.

Kristen. I think based on a photo of Sonic Youth.

Amy and Casey in the makeup room. Inspired by Tegan and Sara.
Thanks so much for providing us with a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes! I got a chance to see a bit of a rehearsal last year during a tour, and I've been dying to find out more ever since.
Saturday Night Live was the reason I started doing sketch comedy- and I absolutely love it! Thanks to you and the rest of the cast for being such a great inspiration!
This epsiode was fantastic. I think the Sarah Palin rap might be one of my all-time favorite skits. I will miss Amy on the show (She is pretty much my hero- I even met her once at ASSSSCAT!) but I'm so excited to see the rest of the SNL season!
Please keep writing, I love hearing your thoughts on the shows!

I loved the Palin rap too. It will defintely go down as a one of the best sketches. I can't believe Amy is going to be gone. Everyone is going to miss her. I hope she is doing okay, and that her baby is healthy. Fred, the pictures are great, and thanks again for writing.

Like everyone else on here, the Palin rap was hilarious! Also, as being British, Bill's accent is incredibly convincing! If I can remember correctly, there was some sort of British music show in the 80s (called "Tube"... I think) that seems very similar to the sketch!
Just had a look on trusty Wikipedia and there was! It was actually known as "The Tube", but I knew my memory wasn't deceiving me!

PS, Kristen pic is great!

Team SNL, I've been a fan of the show for many years. Both for the great humor and the amazing live acts. But it's the later that brings me here today
I'm writing hoping to direct your attention to 2 Canadian acts about to take the world by storm. Both would be perfectly in tune with SNL's rich history of musical excellence:
Beast: http://www.myspace.com/beastsound
Must hear: Out of control, Mr. Hurricane
eleveneighty: http://www.myspace.com/eleveneighty
Must hear: Loot, 2x2, What's the question?
Please have them on the show. You'll pass for the geniuses that you are and you'll entertain the sh&t out of America.
Respectfully,
David

Your Iceland sketch was hilarious, particularly since Icelandic people don't have dreams, hopes, fears, families, children or mortgages the way Americans do. The sketch's true insight was to treat them not as people just like yourselves, but as the cartoon characters they really are.
You may toss out an occasional line trashing Bush or celebrating Obama, but SNL's true beating heart is a Republican one.
P.S. The Pelosi orgasm joke was dead on. I don't suppose Harry Reid's name would've made it half as witty.
