For Dan: Goals for Season 2
Jeff: I just want to keep telling stories that people can relate to. I want to be very honest with the show. It goes with the actors, the camera people, the writers, and Jason. I want people to relate to our show. If we do that, our show has served its purpose.
Connie: I completely agree with Jeff. I just want to keeping going deeper and deeper with life experiences and getting to different levels with our characters.

My biggest disappointment this year is it is scheduled for Friday night. We are not at home watching TV. We are at the local high school game.

I do like how the show does touch on real interactions between people. I like watching the process of them working out their differences.
I was amazed last year people in other parts of the US we shocked by teens saying "yes ma'am/sir", "no ma'am/sir", please and thank you. They just need to get a clue that we do teach our children to be courteous. It is part of teaching them to respect others and a fairly high percentage of parents in Texas do teach it to their children from the time they start talking. It is too late to start when they are 10 or 12.
I love the show but I am not happy with the murder sub-plot. You missed a great opportunity of teaching that doing the right thing at the time the murder happened is the right thing to do.
Dealing with teenage and parent issues is what makes your show real...and what made me really glad your're back for another season. However, the murder is too much. Why not just mame him and do something that wouldn't eventually scare these two kids forever. I'm still shaking my head at your bold move.

The show works because it respects the heart of America. Rare coming from Hollywood & New York elites. To the crew, writers, producers, assistants and tv executives working on FNL avoid Jeffrey Reiner's father's contempt for America's middle class. On prejudice, avoid the race card. That its really become latino versus black. On illegal immigration bring smug entitlement and how multi-culturalism eventually divides a country. Don't turn the minutemen in the KKK.
Connie - Your performance tonight was amazing. I really felt for Tammy when she was fighting back the tears. She's a better woman than I am! I would have been begging Eric to stay.

I can 100% relate and see the importance of HS Football in a small community ... say an hour and a half from the nearest major city. In our town people purchased vehicles the color of the HS and drove them to games. Stands were always filled, and they interviewed players during the week on AM radio.
