Hi I just wanted to say that I think that Matt and Julie should get back together. I like that they broke up because Julie saw herself turning into her mom and Matt into her dad. I think that that would be a great storyline to run with because you could show them growing up differently than eric and tami

Love the full episodes online! I liked the show but did not like the murder. I'm not interested in seeing that play out. I am interested in the other characters.
I love Friday Night Lights and was excited to have it back on last night. There was a scene that I did not care for and wanted to let you know. During a practice session on the field I heard the work f__k used. This is a great show and that kind of language is not needed or wanted. Please remember that there could be young kids watching. Please tone it down. Again it is a great show and the language is not needed.
Thanks,
Debbie
How can such a brilliant show (with the slight exception of the Landry murder plot line) be slotted into such a poor time?
NBC wants more viewers, yet puts the show on Fridays when no one's home?!?!?!
what network exec made that dumbass decision?!?!?!
put this show on Must See TV where it belongs.
p.s. landry has mad christian values, he would never have dumped that body. wake up!
by moving to friday night means most of the teens that watched because of the football story lines are at there ball games at that time?
it would of also been good to of had some reruns going on to refresh people's memory and picked up more view'ers. I was a little lost because i could'nt remember what the last show was about and when i started watching tonight i was trying to put things together. i hope the new night does'nt hurt the show because i really like it.
Watched the season opener tonight and didn't want it to end. This is by far the best show on T.V.
First time viewer... really enjoyed the show. Great song in the show tonight also. I'm speaking of "Looking for You." All set to buy the sountrack but I see the song is not part of it. Why Not?
clearly, still the best network television series show with the finest camera work on network television
why in the world would u air this show about hs football on a friday night? just in my small town tonight along there were several people who said they were going to miss the show. the reason is....there at a hs football game. please change the day.
Dear folks,
FNL is that one show that comes along once in a liftime. It doesn't settle for mediocrity, nor even for being a really good show.
It is by far and away the no.1 show on television!
Anyone can appreciate what it has to offer. The writing is unbeatable. The acting and actors are the cream of the crop!
Speaking of the actors; let me just say that each of them make me laugh, cry, and touch my soul.
My high school years were never like FNL.
I love the relationships, especially the ones involving Minka Kelly and her on screen family.
Then there's the star quarterback, the fullback, Ms. Palicki, the coach and his family, and on and on it goes...
I could go on but it might take me all night to say so many positives about the show.
I will close by saying, "Please don't go off the air!" I love FNL! I love FNL! I love FNL!
Zane
From Southeastern Va.
I truly love this show and all the actors and I am so glad that it is back for another season. I hope that the Friday night time slot doesn't hurt the ratings.
I do have to say that I was disappointed in the premier and I'm concerned with the Tyra/Landry murder...too melodramatic!! Just hoping that it plays out ok...
Connie was excellent as always..she deserves an Emmy for her performance!! I hope the show goes back to the way it was last year...don't make it into a soap!
Wishing you all the success!! Go FNL!!!!!!!!!
As a loyal season 1 fan, I have waited all summer for the premier. However I was terribly disappointed. It seemed as if there were totally different characters on the screen. Their actions did not seem to represent the characters we know and love. Please fix it quickly.
For Connie: Are you still working at the high school this season?
TIM LYLA
Tim and Lyla! Please make it happen.
Hi thanks so much for the gift of this wonderful show
are they on here or are we talking to ourselves?? It's 10:16pm??
Love your show!! I grew up (and played football) in a small TX town and I have to say that your show has done a great job depicting all the various facets of TX life.
Good luck with the seasons to come!
P.S. Any chance you might be interested in tv show about a TX lottery winner? It's a fictional synopsis I came up with and would love to make something out of it.
I love this show... and have since the first episode. BUT, I was TOTALLY disappointed with tonights show! Why would you have Tyra and Landry kill a man in SELF DEFENCE and then dump his body in the river! That was the dumbest thing! Teenager today are not that dumb! They may do a lot of stupid things, but dumping a body in a river... STUPID! I work with teenager and I know most of them would have called the police as soon as possible and told them exactly what happened... SELF DEFENCE!!!
Connie, here is a plot suggestion... why not rekindle the flame with Jack Bauer. Maybe he can come in an interrogate Landry and Tyra.
Seriously you had them dump the body?!?!??! That's just wrong, you should have had them do the RIGHT thing and call 911....No wonder why they think teens are all messed up now a days. That was just poor.
Love the show, in particular the realism (although that jerky camera sometimes drives me nuts).
But I have a question. You've made a very big deal about "Austin." Coach Taylor wants to go to Austin; it's his dream to go to Austin; he's spent the last eight months in Austin; etc. So he's on the plane coming home from "Austin" and he's wearing an SMU shirt. Surely you realize that every single college football fan in the nation knows where SMU is, and that it's not the famous university in Austin. Was that intentional? Or, as it seems, an oversight.
looking ahead, what happens to the high schoolers as they age?
Friday night lights is the best t.v. series I have ever watched keep them coming.
I never saw FNL the movie -- it seemed much to sappy to me. When I stumbled onto the show halfway through last season, I was so delighted that it was the farthest thing from sappy. It was gritty and real, and somehow felt a lot like my small Iowa hometown, where life revolved around high school athletics.
Connie, how do you prepare yourself to shoot these scenes?
huge fan of the show, can't believe that tyra and landry were that stupid, WTF!! i think this episode will damage ratings..YOU DIDn't show much of lyla, riggins, street or smash!!!!!!!!!!
What did they do all summer, did they graduate? STUPID TO HAVE LANDRY KILL SOMEONE, just stupid!! i love landry!!
Will Street rise back up to be in the focus of the show? He is a centerpiece of the series and more interesting than Matt.
I am DISGUSTED!!!!!!
I stayed home from a Friday Night Football game that my nephew may play in to watch the season premire (sp) and was absolutely disappointed!!!!!!!! IT was horrific, what happened?????
Decent Beginning to the season.
Are you worried about losing viewers by not having as much football? I think the football scenes are some of the best I have ever seen and I will miss them.
Come on - how is a High School kid getting to buy beer and all the drinking that the kids do- you are sending the WRONG message to the audience you want. Kids have it tough enough.
Why ruin the show with them tossing a body - wasn't there enough drama as it is? We loved watching the show until it got stupid. But all shows go there sooner or later. You've lost us.....
OMG..I absolutely love this show. My boyfriend and I have been waiting for the new season and I must say I loved the first 45 minutes. I do not like this whole Julie and the Swed. I love her and Matt together. I hope you guys don't kill thats story line. I really don't like the Tyra, Landry story. I think Tyra needed to report the attempted rape and stalking. They have no legal self defense case now.
ps- The baby is absolutely adorable!!
I absolutely adore this show. It is by far the BEST TV program and I have told EVERYONE I know to watch. The casting is absolutely perfect.
I have been waiting for this episode all week! It was great but I have to say I am disappointed in the plot w/ Lyla and Landry. That said, I am a complete and total faithful viewer to this show b/c of a list of reasons that includes: casting, writing, cinemetography, the music is perfect! I really hope that NBC understands that every intelligent person watches this show! Please make sure to count the DVR ratings b/c I know many people who will not be watching it on Friday Night but will DVR it.
MEMO TO THE PRESIDENT OF NBC: DO NOT CANCEL THIS SHOW!!! If you even entertain this idea you need to do the following before you do: put it on a normal night/hour, this show can compete w/ any other show with the proper marketing which leads me to my second point, you need to advertise this show! PR, PR, PR please!
Thank you for the BEST, most brilliant show out there.
It appears the show is getting totally away from football, and is just turning into another soap opera.
keep the Swede and his band!
The show is awesome.
For Connie:
Great job as Tami both tonight and last year. What do you look for when reading scripts.
For Jeff:
As I am an aspiring writer and producer, I would like to know what it is like working on a series.
Love the show - very realistic portrayals and excellent acting.
My question - besides the obvious distance, how is working in Texas different than shows that film in LA?
I'm sure you're aware that many fans are concerned with the murder story arc. So far, I'm willing to see how it plays out, but please tell me that it isn't going to be unrealistic?
What do you have in store for Matt/Julie as the season progresses?
I really hope that your plot line for the show does not have Coach Taylor returning to replace the hard-line, disaffecting coach who replaced him, because that would be totally unrealistic. It already was unrealistic for you to not have his family go with him in then first place. That's just not real football-coach life, but then, this is TV. Oh, hate the rude intrusion of those animated and static ads that show up on the screen during shows. You and other producers should nix that practice by demanding in contracts that your shows not be so interrupted.
Friday Night Lights Kicks ***
We want more. We love it.
Glad to see some religion added to the show. Hope it doesn't end up being made fun of. There is a real.
I just wanted to write and tell you how much I love the show. I live in Austin, Tx and I find it awesome how you are able to incorporate Austin hotspots into the show. Friday Night Lights is amazing and I have told all my friends to watch it. The first season was incredible and I bought the DVD the day it came out. My mom became so hooked that we watched the entire first season in two days. Just wanted to say to keep up the good work and I hope the the rest of the United States realizes what an amazing show you have created.
Why is the program on Friday nights when many of the potential viewers are at local high school football games? I hope this does not limit viewership.
You ROCK! Keep playing Anton (Brian Jonestown Massacre).
Why did you move the show to Friday nights. As a Texas High School coaches wife, we are not able to watch the show on Friday's because of football games. As you know, small towns in Texas live and die by high school football.
I love this show! You capture my attention every week for an hour, and I wish it lasted longer! No other show on TV does this for me. Keep up the great acting and writing. I hope you guys finally get the credit you desevre for your talents. Here's to awesome ratings for FNL!
I just wanted to say that I love the show and ask if the baby that Tammy and Eric is real- there are some really amazing fake babies- because i think she is adorable!
How does a talented writer / producer like myself with a Creative job in New York get a resume to you so I can work on your show?
flat out one of very best television programs on the air. just finished watching new episode and loved it----except where there more commercials than usual??? Seemed so to me - anyone else?
Loved the show last season.
It had great writing until Tyra's stalker got killed.
The plot line seems way over the top and inconsistent with otherwise impeccable acting and writing.
My wife and I are very disappointed with the needless sensationalism.
The rest of the show was excellent as usual. Our reco: drop this storyline and fast.
FNL is simply the best show since "West Wing" and it is the one show for which, in this house, everything stops.
Thanks for bringing it back and thanks for your creativity!
If rating get better will the show move to another day? Is there hope? it is the best show on tv and it would be a shame for it to be canceled.
I really hope that your plot line for the show does not have Coach Taylor returning to replace the hard-line, disaffecting coach who replaced him, because that would be totally unrealistic. I am so happy FNL is back. I have cried already. This show is the best.
I didn't like the fact that landry and tara killed the guy. If they had just called the police, it should have been self defense.
Wow, way to jump the shark in the very first episode. I really loved the realism of the first season, but with Tara's attacked being killed and dumped my fav show has turned into Friday Night O.C.! What in the world greenlighted that plot point, do you need ratings THAT badly. All they had to do was run into the store and call 911, since she was attacked, everything would have been fine. Oh well.
What song was playing over the scene with the rings being presented? And I was glad to hear Explosions in the Sky music again, too.
Thanks for doing this, and thanks for working so hard on the show.
I am deeply disappointed by the decision to ruin the great plot by adding the murder melodrama in today's episode. That decision makes FNL just like other shows. To get high ratings revert to old gimicks. What has been so special about FNL--its true heart and soul has been compromised. I hope you don't make this a growing part of the show.
who can i send music to....
myspace.com/yellowwood
Whoever is responsible for the music selection is brilliant....thank you for choosing the Wilco song "Muzzle Of Bees" for the delivery scene.
Genius.
Hi I'm from TX and now my husband and I teach HS in TX. Of course my husband and I are huge high school football fans but, are off this week. Anyway, FNL is a great family show and a date show too. I encourage my students to watch it. The only thing that is a little difficult is that now FNL is on Friday's and for us means we'll need to record it because, we are usually at a football game. We happen to be on the off week. So are ya'll going to leave it on this day forever? I don't want this show to cancel like it was mentioned before....What can we do to make sure it's here to stay?
what an AWWEESOMMME show! Glad to see it in the big leagues. I will keep watching.
What are some of your goals for season two? What do you want the viewers to get out of it?
We want Eric back in town. Is that a possibility?
Love the show.. Watched a marathon on Bravo all day today.
YEA!!!
which characters graduated last year b/c street was a senior..who else?

is street going to walk again??
What's up with Tami and Eric? I love, love, LOVE them!
FNL has finally found its rightful home - have loved the show since it premiered. Leave it here on Friday nights and give it a chance
I love the show. How come tv shows never depict teen characters as smart indiviuals who do the right thing. Give America's youth more credit.
love the show but my fear is that in seeking more soap operish scenes the auhenticity which makes fnls so great will be sacrificed. you are walking a delicate line. keep it real!
Shame on YOU. A murder??---was it for ratings??---the only false note in the show's history!! What's up for next week---Invasion of Martians???
are you done filming all of season 2? if not when will you be done fliming season 2?
Jeff, are we going to get to see more of Jason Street this season?
i just wanted to know if Smash still has a girlfriend or is he back on the market
This show was so good at the end when the body was in the car and she looked to see wheer to leave the body i was shocked she thought of dumping the body in the river thatw as freakyyyyy
I can't say how ECSTATIC I was when I heard that FNL was getting a second season, and I'm so glad to see that the show I love has stayed the same and is still the best show on television.
Connie, what's it like playing a mom to both a teenager and a baby? I'm sure it has to be an interesting dichotomy..
I am a new viewer to FNL. I purchased the DVDs of season 1 after hearing so many good things about it. You have one more faithful viewer who loves this show. In the coming season, I hope that the show continues as it was in season 1. Please no over the top drama that has plagued other shows. I am hoping to see more in depth storylines between Eric & Tami.
Thank you to all involved in bringing this show to us every week!
Love the show!!!How do you pick the music that you use on the show? I'm from Texas and would love to hear some real C&W once and awhile.
Your writers gave in to every cheap, dumb, sensational temptation and turned TV's best series into a shameless, butt-ugly soap opera. Are you looking to reheat the second season of "Twin Peaks"? What are you thinking?
Congratulations on a great season premiere. I'm looking forward to another great season.
Wondering why there was so little of Jason Street in the premiere. he is the heart of the show.
Have you thought about bring the marching band in for more of a story line. At our school they are a big part of the team
Just a quick question.! I have some great original music/songs I would like to submit for a school dance and even more Ideas ie. more intimate settings how/who could I submit them to if that might even be feasible? Many Genere's!
I really hate to say this, but Kyle's character sucked tonight, walking out on tami crying to go hang out with Buddy?? Right after telling her he's leaving early? What was that all about? Please tell me that eric gets hit in the head with a clue by four over the next few weeks and redeems himself. Becuae, as of now, I'm not feeling the love. Please???
Loriann
GO DILLON PANTHERS!!! We're excited for you and are glad you've returned! LOVE this show!!
This show has taken me back to my high school days and I appreciate the realism especially how weel the issue of race relations is concerned. This show handled it so well. Inlight of the Jena 6 issues will the show get deeper into race at the high school and maybe at the college level?
Thanks for great acting and well thought out writing!!!

So. Loved the premiere. But i'm wondering. The Tyra/Landry storyline is a departure from the shows usual plots. I be there is some reason to this as not everything is like it seems in this show. BUt it kinda sounds off, i'd be great to know how his is going to be handled, plot-wise.

Oh, thank God you are all back!It is complete brilliance, your show! I have always been a fan of Peter Berg's direction, so it's no surprise he's got the best cast to work with. You all bring real life to our living room each week in the most real way-- NBC should air y'all each night! Being a 36 year old mother of 2 little boys destined to play football, my husband & I are right between remembering those teenage days & looking forward to parenting through those teenage days. My question is for Connie: I am catching hints of Tami developing post-partum depression? Being that's it's the most common complication of pregnancy which is sadly largely gone undiagnosed, is this an issue which you would like to see your show bring to the spotlight, & would you like to play your role as a catalyst of awareness?
As a parent of a 16 year old daughter who is at a "Football Friday Night" game tonight, I wanted ya'll to know that you are "hitting close to home" on ALL aspects of the show. From the parents view, to the teeenagers prospective..ya'll are dead-on. The ads also from Allstate are awesome! This is exactly what we as teenage parents face each and every day, and especiallly on FRIDAY nights. Keep the shows coming, and if you ever need any show ideas...just ask a parent of a teenager. THANKS!

I have been incredibly impressed with FNL. The first season was remarkable. After the episode tonight I am truly worried that you might be Jumping the Shark with the accidental murder. One of the things I admire about FNL is its ability to find camaraderie between the mundane and the emotional. Too much novelty (a murder) in the character's lives disrupts this completely. Be careful.
LOVE this show!!! HATE that its on Friday. I'm a mom with lots goin' on. But I will certainly make time.......this is awsome.
Great show tonight. It's nice to see you incorporate the feelings of a daughter and a father into the story line. Maybe it will be an inspiraton to young girls to confide in their fathers or mothers about their personal affairs and feelings.
I enjoyed the show last season and the new season opener appeared to be quite good.....but the sound is pitiful. No, it's abysmal...you provided completely muffled gibberish in lieu of clear dialogue. Fix your sound or you're going to lose all of your viewers...artsy filmwork is wonderful, but if you can't understrand what anyone is saying, what's the point?
I have been a fan since the first minute.
But what can be done to keep this show on the air? I'm afraid NBC will cancel it if it has average ratings again.
Was moving it to Friday nights really a smart move? Or will there be less pressure to meet high ratings on a Friday night? It seems that many people who would watch it are at their real Friday night football games. At least until November.
I did notice that NBC was promoting FNL in movie theaters during the previews. Maybe that will help.
I grew up in Mississippi. Kyle has that character down pat. It's amazing. And I know this isn't an original thought, but he's also easy on the eyes!
PRODUCERS, F.N.L is great, im a relatively new viewer, caught some of S-1, but definitely plan to buy it after seeing tonights S2 opener! I LOVE the way you do your camera shots and the way you film the show, the cast is just perfect, keep up the good work !
Great return episode! I look forward to the rest.
I have been a fan since the first episode. I am really glad that FNL was brought back or a 2nd season. I was wondering if Coach Taylor is going to be coming back permantly to Dillion & als what happened to the girl with the young son that was living next door to Tim Riggins at the end of season 1.. Thanks
WE LOVE THIS SHOW!!! we cant believe how this season is even so much better than last year. we can tell its going to be a great one. Now landry is a murderer.. what he is going to do>??
I'm trying to figure out the grades of the characters.
Is Riggins a Senior?
Have Tyra and Lyla graduated?
i don't have any questions at the moment, i just wanted to leave some love for the show. i watch an embarrassing amount of tv, and FNL is honestly the best show i've ever watched. kudos to the cast and crew.
Awesome episode!!! here's to great ratings and many many more seasons!!! I'm praying for you all,
Loriann
How do y'all go about breaking a script? What is the process for FDL?
Loved the show from the first
minute on the air. How did Coach Taylor get to be their at the right two time'S? Sure
would help us father's to be if we didn't have those eight tough month's.
Connie - you don't seem old enough to be a mom...do you and the girls on the show have a more sisterly relationship? Loved the InStyle Magazine piece, you looked great!
OMG! Is landry's life ruined now? he and tyra are so cute together.
Connie - what is your exercise routine? that fake belly wasn't fooling me...
Loved the show from the first

Just a general question: I have never seen FNL and I want to tune into the 2nd season but I have a 14 year old boy and I was wondering if this show is oriented for him and if they are gonna "sex up" the show because it is at 9 PM. This show looks great and can't wait to see what the hype is about. Thank you very much!
Question for Mr Reiner:
I noticed that in the 2nd season premier that some of the characters have changed; e.g. Lyla finding religion, Tim is back if not taking it hardcore with his old partying ways, Julie's distance between Matt and her mother. Will the 8 month gap ever be filled in a future episode or explained as the season progresses?
To Ms. Britton:
In an interview with Kyle Chandler, he said he was upset that he missed the special bond he had with his family in the 2nd season. Do you also wish that you can have those heartfelt scenes again with your on-screen daughter and husband and do you think it will eventually get better between the Taylor's.
Thank you so much and I wish you luck (not that you need it) with the forthcoming season. This show is phenomenal!
CLEAR EYES, FULL HEARTS, CAN'T LOSE!
huge huge fan of the show. can't wait for season 2. usually i just download shows to watch later but i'm going to try to watch this as it airs, really want to support the show and help it get to season 3.
also just purchased season 1, i could easily rewatch it from the beginning, the acting and storylines are so great. i've been telling everyone about this show and hopefully it continues to find an audience.
i'm not even a sports fan at all, i just like good tv, and this is probably some of the best i've seen in years. certainly in my all time top 10 shows.
thanks and keep it up.
I've never written to a network about keeping a TV show on the air, but I did for FNL.
This is a great show, with believeable characters & capable & likeable actors. Of course it helps that I have a serious crush on Kyle Chandler, but don't tell my husband.
Keep this show going for several more seasons, would ya!!
Question for Connie's live blog and afershow:
Connie, first of all thank goodness you're back for season two. I am so thankful FNL is back because in my opinion, it really makes an impact on people's lives and is simply just great entertainment. My question for you tonight is....
What did you do to prepare for season two in terms of the transition your character will be making... pregnancy, marriage stuff, etc.? How do you think your character has or will be changing and how did you prepare for it as an actress?
Thank you! Go FNL!!!
My husband and I are so happy the show is back on! We love watching every week together, it is an amazing show. Every episode touches your heart and makes me want to be a better person. Can't wait to watch tonight. Friday night lights is the best show on television. Lots of love from Spokane, Wa!
I am just so happy that this show is going to be back - everyone in our family - all ages just love this show!!!
So does everyone in my office!
FNL is the greatest show on TV. I agree with most of the comments regarding the time slot. It will be difficult for some viewers to catch it on Fridays. But if you really want to watch you will do what I do if I miss it for some reason and that is tape and watch it on line.
Where I work it is the topic of conversation all the time. I work with a diversified group of people of various races and everyone is amazed at how FNL potrays real life.
To all the cast, crew, and anyone else involved in the creation of this wonderful show. A very Heartfelt Thank You. Please keep up the great work.
As for the small minded people who choose to not see the merit in this program, maybe you need to take a look at the first season again and see how FNL deals with real life issues and real problems.
Again, thank you for putting such a wonderful program on to watch.
Jeff Lewis you sound very ignorant, do you have advertising dollars in another show with the same time slot?? I am in an interacial relationship and my boyfriend(African American) likes FNL just as much as I do. Try actually watching the show. They even did a whole episode dedicated to the real rascism a lot of black players face. My boyfriend knows first hand about that and he was thrilled to see FNL tackle that and get a dialouge going about this very real but rarely discussed problem. It won't be resolved if we don't discuss it.
BTW, bravo is having a marathon till 7pm to get you ready. how can you NOT like this show? Did anyone catch the today show? Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton, were on this morning and "coach" said he was happy just to still have a job. WHAT!! NBC you would make a huge mistake to take this show off the air, our country is so divided right now and this is one of those shows that really brings people together. NBC- YOU WOULD BE STUPID TO NOT KEEP THIS SHOW GOING!!!! I will watch FNL no matter what day it is on, but I am pretty siked that its on fridays now. I think a lot of people were confused as to when it came on. Or heres a solution play it more than once a week! have a recap day for anyone who missed friday's show. Friday night lights is a breath of fresh air from all the smut that is put on tv today.
Just watching reruns of FNL, waiting for 8 p.m. to get here. We are having friends over to watch and we are excited about tonights epsiode. My daughter and I film as extras and she will been seen tonight during the last 5 min. of the show. I watched the yahoo show. She usually has a gothic w/flair look and is about the only one on set that dresses like that. She would be a good addition to the script. Keep up the good work. We will be watching. I would rather see it on Sunday night. My daughter has acting on Fridays but we will not be going tonight. Thanks for all the fun. See you on set.
I am so excited to watch the premiere, although I have to wait until Monday to watch it. My husband is out of town and I promised I would watch it with him.
Connie Britton- You are a very talented actress who makes Tami Taylor real and relatable. The chemistry between you and Kyle is so real that I have to remind myself that Coach and Tami are not real people. Tami is such a strong woman that is able to nourish herself while being a mother and wife. What a great example for women who find it difficult to do it "all" and find time for themselves. My question is: Is Tami like you in any or all ways? And what women have influenced you and are brought into the character of Tami?
Not everyone who watches The Lights goes to live highschool football games!! I love The Lights and am thrilled that it's on Friday nights instead of moving it around mid-week - no conflicts with American Idol and I'm even giving up watching the Red Sox/Angels game for an hour to watch the premiere. My daughter got me hooked on this show and we've e-mailed each other back and forth the day after the show and now we can talk about the show in person on Saturdays. Even though I watch the show I still tape it to be sure I get every last details. THIS SHOW IS SO DARNED REAL and I'm SO glad it's back.
I love Friday Night Lights, however, why is it now showing on Friday Night, people that watch this show, including myself, won't be able to watch it because we will be watching real high school football......the show is called Friday Night Lights for a reason, high school football all across American is on Friday nights....people who like high school football can't be two places at the same time............MOVE THE SHOW TO THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK
I think FNL is a great show! Looking forward to a new season--keep up the good work! Thanks for producing something other than "reality" TV!
This show is my favorite show of all time. The actors, the writing, the way it is shot...fantastic.
And to Jeff Lewis who posted the comment about the show being "white folk propaganda". Are you kidding with this? You must still be in high school. The show demonstrated the exact opposite...specifically how racial sterotypes are wrong. This point was clearly hit on in the episodes where Coach McGill had spoken to the media about African American players...and how making that statement to the media caused players to lose confidence in him and almost lost him his job. If you ever read the non-fiction book this show is based on...which it sounds like you haven't..you would know that most of the show's characters, including Smash, are based on a real people. Smash's character in particular is based on a man by the name of Boobie Miles. Boobie, an African American who played running back for Permian High School in Odessa TX, talked a lot of trash off the field, but backed it up on the field just like Smash does. Would you rather the writers have made the following caucasian characters on the show African American?
1) Tim Riggin's: an alcholic who has sex on multiple occasions with his crippled best friend's girlfriend;
2) Walt Riggin's: Tim Riggin's father who left Tim and his brother to live on their own with no financial support;
3) Buddy Garrity: sleazy car salesman who cheats on his wife with his secretary and then fires that secretary shortly after; OR
4) the man who attempted to rape Tyra in the second to last episode (caucasian).
First of all, I was raised in Texas and now live in NYC. I love the show and it makes me homesick each week! My questions for is... do you or have you ever thought about using real Texas high schools to play against the Panthers?
I find Friday Night Lights, absolutley enchanting. It is rich in real emotion and drama. Simply the best! I would love it if you could cast Apolo Anton Ohno. He is so charming, sincere and genuine. He has loads fans from the 2002 and 2006 Olympic Games and as the current Dancing with the Stars Champion. He has mass appeal from the young to the young at heart. Anyhoo, I think he would be a great addition to the cast, as a guest star. Maybe, as a backup quarterback. I've seen him throw a football, thur a tire. And he raised the Flag, at the last home game for the Seahawks, as the 12th Man. So he likes football. Anyways, just some thoughts, from girl in Texas
I LOVE FNL!!!! I am so happy you guys are back. FNL tackles real high school, and adult issues in a way that speaks to teens and adults. I'm in my mid 20's done w/ college and high school, and I love this show. Me and my boyfriend watch it all the time. We are high school sweethearts and it always gives us a nice walk down memory lane. I made my 17 yr old neice start watching the day that matt and julie almost had sex. And I could see her actually listening to the speech Mrs. Coach gave julie. PLEASE KEEP THIS SHOW GOING!!!! LOVE YOU GUYS, GOOOO PANTHERS!!!!
I´m from Portugal and i realy love the show. I hope i can see the premier tonight on the internet. Keep on going with it, its an inspiration for the first football team in Portugal the Porto Renegades! Like Kings...Like Gods...RENEGADES!!
This show is remarkable, and I've watched from the very beginning. I saw the premiere online and was overall very impressed, but a couple of developments bothered me. Especially then one with Matt and Julie. I know eight months have passed, but the current situation between them is so jarring that it feels like a slap in the face. As a viewer, I feel a little cheated. There were plenty of ways to make this couple interesting without going the usual way, especially since they were just getting started. I was looking forward to watching them progress, and I feel very let down.
Also, the addition of Grandma's nurse seems eye-rollingly obvious, given the timing. If it's going where I think it is, I don't like that development at all.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for bringing this great show back!
It's okay in it's time slot because everyone will just DVR it and watch it later. It's a great show that all my thirty something friends LOVE.
Someone raised the same point I have ... your scheduling of this show is terrible. Last year, you had it opposite American Idol, which for reasons I will never understand, has a cult following. Now you put it on Firday night at 9:00, when the biggest part of your audience will be at their own local HS games (and that is not just the HS kids, but the parents of those kids who also love Friday Night Lights). It is a great show .... give it a chance to shine in a better date/time slot!!!!
I love this show and have been anxiously awaiting its return. However, why would you put it on Friday nights? Seems to me your target audience would be the 40 somethings and their kids. Don't you think those same people will probably be at their own hometown football game on Friday nights? If you ask me, it was better suited for its old time slot. That way football lovers like my family can watch games on the weekends and Mondays, hometown games on Thursday and Friday, and then a little football drama like Friday Night Lights in the middle of the week.
This show is very prejudiced towards african-americans.I stopped watching it and so have other people I know.Matt Laurer said everyone loves this show.Well, obviously he didn't speak with very many african-americans or anyone else who bothered to pay attention to the blatant stereotypes of african-americans portrayed on this show.Just more white folk propaganda to try to make everyone else look less than them.
Such a beautifully realized amalgam of writing, acting, setting, cinematography and music should gain the audience it deserves. I so hope it does.
A question regarding the future of Matt and Julie's relationship: will we be seeing further developments as the season progresses, because they seem to have a great deal of unfinished business to work out. I'd like to see them wrestle with the possibility of becoming a long-term couple and have them rise to the inherent challenges like the Taylors have. Long-term commitments have plenty of drama, as the show is at pains to point out to us. Thanks for giving us entertainment that touches the heart AND the mind.
Love this show!!! This is the only show on television that our family watches TOGETHER, other than College and NFL football. I can't understand why Friday's were chosen for the time slot? I would think that the majority of the followers are teenagers and parents of teenage athletes, maybe I'm wrong. Although, I'd love to be here tonight to watch the premiere, my place will be watching my boys under the real "Friday Night Lights" !!!! I'm sooo disappointed though, b/c I love this show!!!!!!!! It is so true to real life scenarios and it teaches real lessons!!!!!
I am really excited that FNL will be back tonight! Of course because my son is a real "Friday Night Lighter" (plays high school football in NC) I will need to set the DVR! NBC...please promote this show!! The acting is great, the writing intelligent, and the show is for the family. Friday slots are notoriously unlucky, so get the word out!!!
I am so excited for this return!!! I can't wait!!! Although I am disappointed in the time slot, it deserves a much better, mid-week one.
This is my favorite show on TV (and my husbands), it offers a little bit of everything to a wide audience. Every story line is believable and true to life. I love it all from story to the unique way it is filmed!! Keep this show going! I think some more intense promotion would serve it well.
I adore the show and am blown away by the acting.
I was wondering why, after building up Matt and Julie's relationship so beautifully last season, you chose to pull the rug from under it in such an abrupt and wrenching way. There was a lot more that we didn't get to see develop between them. I certainly hope they will reunite before too long, because their relationship was central to the show and their story seems far from over.
Love the show. My concern is moving it to Friday Nights may lose some folks as we will be at the "Real" Friday Night Lights. 99.9% of High school games are friday nights. Just a thought if you see a dip in share.
As a lady who doesn't watch TV, I was really surprised at how much I like this show, when I found it online this summer. The cinematography is wonderful, and I love the writing, casting & shooting, as well as the music. This show inspires. And strangely enough, it seems to have a following of 30-something moms! I belong to a FNL-fan group online (I'm a dork, I know), and we're all moms! I even wrote the cast & crew to say "Great job." Connie Britton is from Lynchburg, I think, which is near where I live now, so I hope to meet her sometime. Also, thank you for keeping faith in a television show. I'd single out individual cast-members and say how great they are, but I love them all! I pray for the cast & crew & the show too!
Sincerely,
barbraphillips@aol.com
Love the show. I think this is a good show for all ages. My son is a coach for a high school sport and I can see the same drama. I would like to see if the cameras can be more still at times, they tend to move to much for me.
Glad to see the show is back for another season. Though you have reached those in the football community, you have touched the hearts of many people that are in a wheelchair.
After the recent spinal cord injury to NFL player Kevin Everett, I hope the network could help highlight the work of a group that helps high school players that suffer a spinal cord injury.
There was a recent AP story about Gridiron Heroes.
The orginal cast of FNL the movie help this organization get started. Since then twelve more young football players have been injured in Texas. They are now receiving calls from other states. This organization could use your support.

I'm a big fan of the show and was wondering if the realationship between tim and lyla is over for the new season? I hope not!
Awesome show! Cant wait till Friday
The show is fantastic, one of the best on tv for sure. I'm so excited for Season 2. My question is why does it feel like NBC is not 100% behind FNL? I have seen barely any advertising for it, its mostly word of mouth. All the good shows die a death because the corporate bigwigs only put their energy behind the mindless garbage that we have shoved down our throats all the time. GET BEHIND FNL. Its a great show. Intelligently written, great performances. Come on!!!!
Just wanted to tell you guys that I'm hooked on your show it rocks. I just wanted to let Smash know that he's very good looking on the show. I want to know if Smash has a girlfreind in real life? And how old is he?
Just wanted to tell you guys that I'm hooked on your show it rocks. I just wanted to let Smash know that he's very good looking on the show. I want to knwo if Smash has a girlfreind in real life? And how old is he?
This is a fantastic show! I liked the movie so gave the show a chance and love it even more than the movie, which is extremely rare. Will Peter Berg ever do a guest spot on the show? I love the job he's doing with this show, but miss him as an actor, too. Also, want to know why NBC is no longer putting their TV episodes on iTunes. I hate missing FNL and sometimes the only way I can watch it is on the go on my iPod. Any chance that FNL at least will be available on iTunes again this year? Amazon's Unbox doesn't support iTunes AND it is not a well-designed system. Thanks for a great show. Word of mouth people...tell everyone you know how great it is! :o)
FNL is my entire family's favorite show. All three generations actually discuss the past week's episode when we gather for our local college games every weekend. Even though we are hooked, I have to question why FNL is not being very heavily promoted; especially now as the new season begins.....
I just read another fans comment about getting the cast members to make appearances on the daily morning shows and talk show circuit, and I also think that would be an excellent idea. DON'T LET THIS SHOW FADE AWAY!!!!!
CLEAR EYES! FULL HERATS!! CANT LOSE!!
I cant wait for the new season 2. this show is the best.soo real life.great cast!!!
we LOVE friday night lights! hope it stays on forever and ever and ever. but we're wondering where are all the promos and advertisements leading up to the premiere? people NEED TO KNOW that it's coming back. and why has it been moved to friday night? please don't go away!
I AM SO EXCITED that FNL is back. I have been watching all the new shows for the new season and have not seen anything about FNL - why is that? Will it be on for a full 2nd season? PLEASE do not trash this show - it is the best show on TV ever. !!!!!
Love the show!!!
So, aren't the students mostly seniors? Like Riggins? I would hate to see him go because he is a senior....Is the series going to follow them to college/life after high school or introduce new characters? I personally would like to the show to follow the original characters...Too bad about the emmys. They missed out on recognizing a great show!!! Keep up the good work! :)
Just a few comments, First of all, I'm an extra on this amazing show and i'm honored to be a part of something so special.
While the actors deserve their fair share of the credit, the folks that you don't see on your screen every week are also deserving of some recognition. The directors, camera people, wardrobe people, producers, the people who feed us, and of course the awesome folks in the extras casting office deserve a big round of applause. Lets' not forget these folks that make everything happen the way it's supposed to.
I'm a very firm believer in the power of prayer and i will continue to pray for this show and all who are involved with this show, just as i have from the beginning.
keep up the great work and thank you for such a quality program.
God bless,
Loriann
I'm so glad that the show is back on. I loved the first season. Hope the second is even better. Hope to see Saracen and Julie get more involved they are really cute together.
Have the cast and creators gone to a Longhorn game? They should--from the tailgates to all of the pre-game, the game, and the last "Eyes" with the players and fans.
We were so excited FNL has another season and hope it cont. Its awesome to be able sit and watch a TV show with the family and not worry about all the unnessacery language & sex on this show. You keep it real and also teach lessons to everyone young or old " it doesnt matter who you are and how great you may be in your sport or place of employment you are not above anyone else" Keep the up the great work and remember to keep "JESUS" in your scripts, he is what can make you or break you.
Finally…a show that’s more real than the so-called reality crap currently burning up America’s brain cells. Thank you!
I just got the first season on dvd and I’ve been going back trying to figure out what I missed. It seems like there were a lot of great mysteries that were hinted at (some potentially great plot lines), but answers never developed. Most have to do with the past, for instance, why exactly did Tim and Billy’s parents leave and where is mom? What happened when Tim was ten that his dad didn’t think he understood? I know that with a show like this, with so many characters, dwelling too much on the past would stop the story from moving forward; however, sometimes understanding where they came from makes it that much more satisfying when they evolve (like Lyla and Tyra).
One more thing…how about you give these women some close female friends so it doesn’t seem like they exist solely for the men in their lives, huh?
First off, I love this show. What a great cast and great acting all around. I really enjoyed the relationship between Riggins and Beau(sp?). The little boy's attitude was perfect! Are we going to see more of this relationship?
Also, kudos on tackling the bi-polar storyline. You hit the nail on the head, especially about bi-polar people having a tenancy to not take their meds when they're feeling good.
I hope you continue to tackle tough subjects and I really hope that more people come to see what a character-driven, wonderfully filmed, realistic, great show this is! I know I'll pass the word on!
Good luck and thanks again.
Becca
I've read reports the big moment from episode one -- the death of Tyra's stalker -- was originally part of State.
1. Is this true?
2. What was the thinking in taking the most innocent character in the show and saddling him with guilt potentially throughout an entire season? The reaction seems to be universally negative to this development, and I'm wondering if you've had second thoughts about the move at this point?
TV shows don't get any better than this. An awesome cast with acting skills that you just don't see anymore on TV. I love the way the camera people shoot this show too. I recommend this show to everyone, it's probably the only show on TV that is actually pretty true to life in a town and lives and breathes football. So glad it's back for another season, I can't wait for Friday!!
I'm very interested in how y'all are going to write the follow up to the killing of and the dumping of Tyra's stalker in the river. You never actually saw that happen but I'm assuming...or maybe its a dream sequence or something. Is he gonna come back to life and avenge his death? Hey why not it's almost Halloween. Hope y'all have a good season 2. Best, Fuzzy
Looking forward to Friday night & Friday Night Lights!
Loved the show last year!
Get the cast on the late night talk show circuit or something .... promo this thing to death , will ya!!!??? ;)
OMG LIKE I LOVE THIS SHOW TO DEATH!IT IS THE BOMB, AND I TELL ALL OF MY FRIENDS TO WATCH IT OR JUST TURN ON THEIR TV'S CAUSE IT ROCK!!!!!!!
I just started watching the show online and I'm hooked. I want to know what's going to happen with Riggins and his new neighbor and also also Smash and waverly
Great show...It sucks that NBC has moved it to Friday nigts...I'm sure it's a marketing thing being that the show is called Friday Night Lights and to show it on Friday night, however I think it would have been better served for Sundays after the prime time football game of the week to play off of the football parallel...I hope the move doesn't kill this show...It's actually one of the few shows on TV that depicts teens in a realistic way...Unlike that crap on MTV, CW or Fox...
so just wanted to say this is the best show ever. i have the series on dvd and the soundtrack and book. i'm an fnl freak. but i do want to see jason and lyla get back togeter. they are so cute when they are together. can't wait till friday night. oh anad i watch all the marathons on tv too
First of all, this is a great show. It should have amazing ratings, everyone should watch it. It's just that good.
That being said, I have a few questions:
1. All the teens in the show seemed to have grown alot in the first season, and we saw them apart or maybe with another kid, like Matt and Landry and Tyra and Julie, are you guys hoping to make the teens more concise this next season? Making them share some screen time together?
2. All the romance in the show is a big part of it, and over the internet we saw that there's alot of Tim/Lyla fans. In Season 1 they lost any kind of contact on Episode 1.11 - Nevermind. There's been some talk about getting those two characters back together, when we saw that, whatever it was that they had, was over. Plus, the fact that Tim and Tyra were bonding and taking their relationship back on track last season was a big thing. What's up with that? There really will be something more between Tim and Lyla? Even after all that went through in Season 1?
And this isn't really a question, more of a statement. Please do not do anything to harm the relationship between Coach and Mrs Coach!!
Yeah So I Pretty Much Love This Show Its My All Time Favorite!! I Can't Get Enough Of It. I Havent Missed An Episode And I Have Watched Sum Of Them More Than Once!! I Absolutely Love It!! Im Worried About Its Future Outcome..I Hope To See A Season 3, 4, && 5...And More!! I Can't Wait Untill 10/5!!!!!!
I just discovered Friday Night Lights this summer online. I love this show! It's gritty and real and exposes me to a world I know absolutely nothing about. I've never been a football fan, and at first was hesitant to watch, but it only took a few moments before I was hooked. Great stuff! Keep up the good work.
This is by far the best show ever!!!!!! I am so excited for the premier!
Lovc this show - I watch very little TV but this show I never miss. I was leaving for a football game last night and checked the guide first to make sure the show wasn't on. Wish there was something that could be done to increase fan base. How about some big named guest stars that you could promote big time. A show like this is right up Matthew McConaughney's alley. Or maybe a pro player - and he has a relative who lives there. He could come by the school and give an inspiring speech about the realities of pro ball and the importance of also getting an education. I live in Texas and know the importance of high school ball. We have season tickets to a high school and don't even have anyone on the team.
This show is just too great to be missed.
Why has there been so little buzz about leading up to the season premiere? I love this show and am worried about its future.
The show is great. We always watch it and if we are not home, thank God for DVR. But, please do not ruin it by casting Rosie O'Donnell. She is drama and it will taint your show and God help you if you do or say something that she does not agree with.....
I can not wait to see the season premier!! I think you all were cheated at the Emmys.
I just have to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this show!!! I have the whole first season and watch it all the time! I can't wait for the second season and the third and forth, etc... Julie and Matt gotta stay together! They make such a cute couple! I just love how it's like real-life and of course being a football freak, I love that it's about football!! Whatever you are doing, please keep doing it and I look forward to many more season's!!! Keep up the great work!
Absolutely love this show. Reminds me of my own Friday night football games in the '60s. Please make sure this show isn't cancelled.
Friday Night Lights, this is the greatest show on the planet!!! I adore each, and everyone of you!! And yep, y'all were robbed of Emmy nominations. But, I'm not worried, I'am confident, Friday Night Lighs, will be victorious next year!!! Anyhoo.... what I'am curious about, is what happen, when Lyla crashed, all those cars. And, drove thur Buddy's showroom window, at Buddy Garrity's Motors. Was it a dream? I kept waiting to see Buddy's face, in the light of day. Thinking this is going to be great. But nothing, or did I miss something?
I am a 37-yr. old woman & my sister is 35. We both LOVE 'Friday Night Lights.' It is our favorite show on television. It's just amazing. Ridiculous how it was overlooked for Emmy nods.
I know the ratings haven't been great, but, for the record, Nielsen has never asked me or my sister what we're watching; so I'm telling!
Keep up the AMAZING work. Thank you for such a unique viewing experience.
I love the show... I just don't understand why this season it would be on Friday night.... When most people who want to watch it are at a Friday night football game!!
The Academy of Television Arts & Scienes REALLY screwed up this year.
FNL should have received Emmy Awards for:
1. Best Drama
2. Writing/Drama
3. Direction
4. Connie Britton's cleavage.
Looking forward to the new season!
FNL is the best show on television--thank you to the outstanding cast and writers from a diehard viewer.
1. In several episodes last season, I enjoyed the way that the show indicated racial tension in a subtle way. Will this topic be explored further this season? I don't think there has to be a "very special episode" featuring the Klan's visit to Dillon or anything, but perhaps a student interracial relationship?
2. We've been introduced to the families of most of the younger cast members in the 1st season--will we ever see Eric and Tammy Taylor's families?
3. When characters are created for the show, are they created as specifically one ethnicity or another? Or does the diversity in the show result more from the casting process?
Thank you.
I just wanted to let you know that this show has inspired me in many ways. I am a Lebanese immigrant and experienced many hard times in the US. After watching FNL I was able to see that life is worth living. From the challenges that street had to face, to Riggins' character, and Saracen. I love the show a lot. I am a film major at the University of Tampa. I am a huge fan of the way your show is produced as far as the three camera style, and the actors having no marks. It makes the actor become their role way more comfortably I think. My question is: What's it like having to create storylines for full seasons? It seems like such a tough process. So is it?
* I also left you a link of my online tv series. There are three episodes online unfortunately college has taken away some of my time to be continue filming it. I really hope you look at it.
why dont u have any comments
