Working with Cows...

Connie: Well, it wasn't at all difficult...first of all, I love shooting on location rather than on a sound stage. And we shoot in Texas, so we're REALLY on location. But it's totally worth it because you feel like you're really there, in the place where you're supposed to be. In terms of that scene in the field, it was one of the easiest ones since it was in a field, but you know there were COWS there. And the cows were so cute and I walked toward a cow and then it started coming towards me and i was like UH OH so I started running! And I was surprised to see that's the take they used, because after that take someone came up to me and said "Just so you know, those are my cows and they're really tame...like family pets." But I didn't realize that, but then ever take after that I was standing around petting them so it's so funny they used the only shot where I was actually running AWAY from the cows.

I played high school football in Texas. You guys have it down to a tee. All of the actors are absolutely right on target; I mean, Connie's role as counselor and coach's wife are the hammer that hits the nail on the head. I can tell you a REAL PERSON who was like her. Same with Kyle's coach. His portrayal of the wide range of emotions that the really good coaches have inside them is just the greatest thing I've seen on television in many, many years. Coach Kyle, they oughta pay you big bucks. Ditto Connie and the rest of this tremendous cast. I will bet my first born that Smash will win an Academy Award one day in the future. The people who put together this cast, gollee, should get their names in the paper. My bet is Coach Taylor will come back in the second season. The kid will be born about the time the season starts. Bet it's a boy. Congratulations to the entire cast for truly one of the most realistic dramas on television. Keep up the great work!

Any hint on where the coach will be next season???...You guys are awesome actors and it took me forever to realize that you (Connie) were in the movie....great season

Ha! Connie, do you remember visiting Grandmother Mary and Grandaddy Cone's farm? I have been chased many times by friendly cows (I thought) My friends have been tricked into being chased and boy, did I get into trouble! Mark, my 19 yr. old is doing the acting route and may bump into you someday. I sent your Dad and Aunt Ann an article about Grandm/Grandd 75th wedding anniversary. It was a huge write up in the News Sentinel. Would love to talk sometime...Ann has my cellphone no.!

Hi! My husband and I watch your show every week and think it is terrific! It is one of our favorites. We loved the season finale and can't wait for next season!! We are from Buffalo, NY and until we watched your show, we didn't realize high school football is taken so seriously in some parts of the country. But your performances are so realistic, we are able to feel the emotions that the all of the characters are feeling. There are so many shows on TV, but yours is one of the stellar ones! Thanks for making such a great show!

Please tell me there will be a season 2. This was the best series on TV that I have ever seen. I am dying to know if Coach stays in Dillon.

I'm amused to see this scene mentioned, because it was one of my favorites, a definite stand out in my memory parts of the episode. It just felt so everyday and not rehearsed that I loved it. :)

That scene was brilliant, but it made me very grateful that there's no such thing as smellovision!!

is there a season 2 we all want to know
