K: At the very beginning we hung out a lot, but once production got started everyone is busy working and we kind of lost touch. Toward the end, we got back together again, and pretty soon there's a bitter-sweetness when he had to leave. I imagine it will be the same when he start up again.
C: We really do feel a sense of closeness. Having the season come to an end and leaving Austin was a bit of a shock to the system. It's a little like camp in that way.
K: The most difficult thing about doing TV shows like this is that throughout the year you have three stages where you feel like a puppet: 1) you don't know if the show is getting picked up. 2) once the season is over you don't know if it's getting picked up for next season. 3) After you shoot the pilot you don't know if you'll get picked up at all. And our ratings haven't been that strong even though we're the most highly rated show right now. It's always tentative as an actor cause you never know what's going to be around the bend.
Love the show immensely. My family is very much living the High School football life. Our son's team went to state this year. My husband and I are in our forties and all three of us love the show. Most shows I like, I watch by myself. This one has all three of us watching. I sincerely hope more people catch on to this gem of a show. I wish you all continued success and hope to see you back next season.
HI KYLE!
HI CONNIE!
I LOVE YOU BOTH! JUST AMAZING! BRAVO....HOPE TO SEE YOU NEXT SEASON
It's sad to hear all this talk that the show might not come back next year. I really hope it does. I think it's ridiculous for the network to cancel after the first season. They have to give the show time to find a broader audience. Actually, I only started watching the show recently and wish I had sooner! I didn't think I would like it because I'm not a big fan of football, but I am a HUGE Kyle Chandler fan! You are definitely the reason I started watching. I've been a fan since the Homefront days (another show that wasn't given a chance and was gone too soon).
Now I know what everyone's been talking about. It's a great show. Love it and hope it comes back!
Will there be a 2nd season? Please say YES!
You guys make the show! I watch FNL with my mother every week. I played football for a big school in louisiana, and this show hits close to home. Your acting in this series is second to none. The storyline makes it interesting, but you two make ir REAL! TY
I absolutely love this show. I just wish NBC promoted the show with more advertising. I barely saw any ads for the season finale. People don't watch what they haven't heard about.
PLEASE!!! say that there is going to be more seasons...thats all i want to know.
When can we expect to know if there will be another season? Didn't you leave us hanging in the finale???
Kyle...
Your reaction to Connie's pregnancy was so excellent. How much rehearsal? It almost looked like the producers just told you she was going to tell you something and let you react naturally. Both of you were great in the scene.
Are any characters graduating?
What are your feelings on a second season?
How long do you shoot for? When do you start again? Any ideas on the script for next season?
Wait, what? When you "start up again..." Did I hear you right, Mr. Chandler??? :D
is there going to be another season!? please say yes!
"when we start up again" - from your lips, etc. Any official word on renewal? seems impossible they wouldn't. What a joy this show is!
I'm not a huge football fan, and this show is not about football. The ratings really should be much stronger than they are, honestly!
Is either one of you really a football fan? My wife and I were very impressed with the actor playing J. Street. He really developed that character. Is there a cast member who surprised each of you?
sounds like they could be coming back [from kyle's first resonse on this topic]
thank you for the show
ps. Kyle will you marry me?
