I went to the Rose bowl last year and witnessed the greatest athletic contest I've ever seen. I was so impressed with both teams, particularly Mack Brown and the relationship he shared with Vince Young, that Mack sort of symbolized the mecca of football. When we were getting ready to start shooting, I made contact with Mack through his daughter who works in Hollywood and found out he was a fan of the movie and asked for 15 minutes.
He gave me the 15 minutes and I was fortunate enough to sell him on the idea of playing a zealous booster, and I think it was fun for Mack to be on the other side of the parent/coach dynamic. And at the end of working, he told me that it was fun for him to be able to give the coach a hard time for a change. Cause generally, he was taking it from the parents. I think Mack Brown is a 100% class act and a genuine inspiration to me personally.
I love the show; however, you have not seen anything until you witness THE LAMARQUE COUGARS OF LAMARQUE, TEXAS. That team is awesome year after year after year! Words can not describe the abilities of the LAMARQUE COUGARS.
there should be a2 a days with La Marque.they deserve it and are way better than hoover who had no competition.
are you using any of the former longhorn football players as stuntmen like they did in the movie?

I am 50 years old and I had tears in my eyes. It is so refreshing to see a good tv show come on
I just wanted to say that I love the show and i'm glad everyone can see how high school football is in Texas.I also think you should film A show that feature THE LAMARQUE COUGARS OF LAMARQUE TEXAS.They run Texas 4A div.But never get their honors.Respect is do for that team and city. These kids even play and beat some of the 5A teams that make it to the playoffs.
I didn't realize that was Mac Brown! I like that scene even more now.
Everything about it felt authentic. The passive-aggressive boosters, the awkwardness of the coach....terrific. I really loved the pilot and I think you have a genuine hit on your hands. Congrats!!
I LOVED THAT SHOW, PLEASE KEEP IT ON THE AIR, TV NEEDS MORE SHOWS ABOUT THE REAL COUNTRY WE LIVE IN. KUDOS.
I just graduated from UT in the spring and was at the Rose bowl... I was so excited to see Mack on the show! I applaud how you captured small town Texas in a good (for once) light. I must say I'm hooked. Hook 'em!
