The ER Process

J- Very briefly, at the core of the show, are the dramatic situations. We never start with the medicine. We always start with the dramatic elements. We start with conflict, family problems, career issues. Then we find the medicine that plays into the dramatic needs of a character. Those dramatic needs might be that Neela is in conflict with one of her superiors. So, now we have created a dramatic element and those two have their conflict they can play on.

P- We shoot mostly at Warner Bros. in LA at Stage 11. We use other stages as well for surgical scenes. The shoot days last for eight days. It's challenging, in terms of you don't get much rehearsal time. Many of us have theatre or film backgrounds, so we miss that rehearsal time. It's fast, we are shooting feature length script material in eight days. We have a fantastic director that keeps us on schedule and it's remarkable. Not every feature film is as good as our episodes we shoot.

J- The film actors that come to the set are often shocked with how much work we get done in one day.

DO NOT AND I MEAN DO NOT END ER FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. I love It I am an ER junkie. I love everyone. When is Kellie Martin going to be back. Take care Best Wishes I would just Die If They Canceled It. My Favorite Show in the whole wide world. Second to non

Whenever my father (a doctor) watches ER with me, he gets extremely frustrated at the accuracy of the medical care.

I know it's impossible and very unrealistic to be accurate in a 1-hour show, but wondered if either of you ever get criticism for it from other physicians/medical professionals you know?

...Basically, is ER well-received by the medical community?

Are the medical terms hard to memorize? I've been a ER fan from the first episode and have enjoyed every one. Parminder keep up the great work.

Love u on the show. I hope u have many more years on it.

Great show tonight but I am on the edge of my seat....what will happen with Ray's character??? I know he lost both legs in the accident and we saw him leaving at the end of the last season. Is Ray's character off the show? I would be so disappointed, I love the Neela/Ray storyline and it seemed like just the beginning. Give me some hints please.

i am a huge fan of the show how is everything keep so original and exciting and
how is it to work with john stamos

P-What was it like to play the part of an ER patient instead of the staff?
Have you had personal ER experiences that have helped you?

You're ALL AWESOME!

Keep up the great work :)

i am a big fan of Parminder and i was wondering how long are you planning on staying with the show and do you have any movies comming out

Parminder, do you find acting in a movie to be different from acting in a television series? Do you think one is more difficult than the other?

Hi Parminder,
I just wanted to say that you are an amazing actress and also that Bend it Like Beckham is my favorite movie! I have been a dedicated fan of ER from the begining! Keep up the great work everyone!

Hi Parminder, loved your role in tonight's episode. I'm glad you made it through surgery. What did it feel like to lie there in all that "blood"? Keep up the good work! Looking forward to many more great episodes.

I'm just curious, Is there a meaning to your name, parminder nagra?

I love nila, her character gives me hope for the show. She is the most believable character on the show

What's it like kissing John Stamos!?!??

I am a very devoted fan... I've been with ER since season 5 (I was 12)... and the seasons before that I have on DVD! I'm beyond obsessed!

Stanley Tucci is the best thing on the show since Noah Wylie. So glad you put him on the show.

parminder, EMAIL ME AT Maigdaa@yahoo.com
I WANT TO Know if the show is ending.. im going to like cry if it does!

How many days in the typical work-week do you spend filming episodes?

I love Pratt. How can I reach him?

what is a typical ER day ?

when will you be shooting in Chicago again, I was at the "peace rally" set when it was shot right by my college, it was AWESOME!

Great show, my favorite from the first season!! I have always wondered, do you have real doctors reviewing scripts to make sure everything is accurate? It is so believable, either your writers are doctors themselves or someone reads alot of medical journals;)

Do you find this to be your mosst challenging role in your acting career?

When it comes time for a character to die, How whould you write the grieving process for the rest of the characters

is it hard playing a doctor in an ER?

Did you guys watch the show tonight before you came on here? Do you watch every new episode when it airs?

did you watch the season premiere or know it by heart so skip it

Is ER ending???

What can we expect of your character Ms. Nagra, and what are you planning joe to keep us hook on our TV each Thursday?

Great show, my favorite from the first season!! I have always wondered, do you have real doctors reviewing scripts to make sure everything is accurate? It is so believable, either your writers are doctors themselves or someone reads alot of medical journals;)

Any movies coming out?

What is the hardest part of working on set with so many people?

Parminder, did you agree with the scene? Cause as Neela in the show, you didn't show any fear, or any personal feelings before your character crashed. Who wrote the scene? Did Laura Innes agree with this scene as well? Cause all though she isn't Kerry weaver on the show anymore, she is still Laura Innes; the directer, in the background.

who has been your guys favorite character over the series in total?

I have been looking at Er for years n hope that it does not come to an end anytime soon. Tonight was FANTASTIC. But u had me worried. I was like "God please do not let them kill her character off" I really would not be able to deal with that. I first saw u on 'Bend it like Beckham' N you were really good in that movie too. I guess that u r a natural. all the best.
dont die on me Neila

as a person with a theatre background myself I knwo I would miss that rehersal time!

I'm a BIG Noah Wyle fan...any chance for some shows with him this season?
