Technical Advisors on the show

J: There are two full-time physician/writers on the writers staff. In addition to writing our own episodes, we help the other writers who don't have medical backgrounds with their medical stories and their terminology. In addition to that, we have three medical consultants who are regarded as high academics in medical departments around the country who help us form ideas and keep things current. We try to keep our medicine very current and very accurate. Procedures always seem to happen more quickly on the show than they would in real life. But, that's the reality of working on a one-hour drama. We bend the rules, but we try not to break them. In addition to the writing staff doctors, we have three on-set physicians, who rotate days, too. Our show employs eight physicians.

How does an unknown become a patient on ER? Is there a place to audition or are extras used?

Love ER!

Then I suppose the doctors caught the errors on the show tonight. Elderly patients in this situation would certainly not be "hypothermic". And afebrile is not pronounced a-fib-rile!

I have watched ER since the beginning and it still is the best show to me and many others I know feel the same! I would like to see Carter again. The cast is great,we hope not to lose any more of them!Abby,Neela, all of them are great! Please keep this show on!!!!!!!!!!Thanks

I have never seen a show based on Autism. Maybe they would address that at some time. My 3 year old son has it and I always like to get other insight on it. thank you. also, I love your show and your character. great job.

Im new to this site so, where are you from, because you have a beautiful smile

Have you been in a real trauma center?

What about hours? Say a behind the scenes Dr. J verses a right in the scenes P? What is an average day? Any "take home" work or do you study lines, reherse, or write right on set?

really?? tjat's really interesting i've always tought that you have to be a doctor and an actor to be on the show!!! hahahahahaha

Off of the show, do you have anyone come up to you asking for medical advise

Parminder, I'm Punjabi myself...I am an aspiring actress. Did you ever have any problems in terms of being accepted into the industry because of your ethnicity?

p- Who in your life has inspired you the most and why? (sorry second time asking!)

I guess the ER set is a good place to get hurt/be sick with all those docs on staff. LOL

Do you wish Neela could of came on the show in a different way ?

How about that Neela's cousin story? Will she seriously have a better time this season?

Thank you for answering that!!! I have been curious forever.

Also Parminder, it must be starnge when you have to go to the hospital for real, don't you just want to diagnose yourselk;) Kidding!

P- Who in your life has inspired you the most and why?

Need to get some more nurse input too!

What's going to be happening on the show this season?

Is Carter coming back?

Perhaps I missed something in the season finale, but I could not figure out how Gates ended up at the anti-war protest or how he even knew that Neela was there. Other than that, I thought it was a great episode, and I LOVED the Ray twist--sheer brilliance and great irony. I was wondering if perhaps you could grant some insight concerning this aforementioned seeming deficiency in the storyline. Thanks!
