Thanks Everyone!

Maura - Thanks for watching and thanks for your interest! And thanks for such thoughtful questions . ...pray for Neela.

Goran - and hope Kovac's plane lands safely in Croatia.

David - we really appreciate hearing what you all are thinking and feeling about the show. Thanks for being loyal!

May 03, 11:49 PM

Filming in Croatia?

David - it's something we've wanted to do for quite some time. It's a difficult project to organize, but it's something we're exploring.

May 03, 11:48 PM

Maura in Brazil?

Maura - I hope to go to Brazil and Argentina in May!

May 03, 11:46 PM

Movies vs. Television

Maura - it's all about the material for me. You're a little more restricted on network television as to how much writers can explore certain topics. But if the material is good the medium doesn't matter so much. And if the actors are good...which I'm usually pretty lucky.

Goran - on film and in theatre you have more rehearsal time, more time in general, which sometimes makes TV difficult. You sometimes go home and think if I had had more time I may have done it differently or better. But when it comes to acting...acting is acting and it's the same whether it's TV or film.

From Jennifer: Girl Power

Maura - I feel very well represented by the writers on our show. The women and the men. I don't think the show needs more girl power. Parminder's character and mine have a very sweet friendship that the writers have taken time to develop, which I feel lends a credibility to it. When the characters first met they didn't even like each other and were very competitive. It's evolved. And I don't think everyone needs to be friends in the ER. It's an intense workplace and not everyone's friends with who they work with. They respect each other, but they're not friends.

David - in general the friendships on the show tend to have peaks and valleys, which I think is representative of relationships in real life. Strong at some times, but not all the time. It represents the cycles of real life.

NICU Nurses

David - I'm glad you enjoyed those episodes. We try to be as authentic as possible in depicting medical stories and different fields in the hospital. Our consultants who include two writers who are ER docs and a bunch of other real doctors try to keep us up to date on what's going on in the medical world.

Maura - Last spring, I went with one of the real doctor/writers, Joe Sachs, to Washington D.C. for a medical conference on the latest procedures and technology. Then he puts it in the show and we have to pretend to work it.

May 03, 11:40 PM

John Stamos - Shaving?

David - he's well-shaved and coiffed in tonight's episode!

May 03, 11:38 PM

Emotional Scenes

Goran - Preparation is always different depending on the story/situation. Hardest for the character means easy for an actor because it's so interesting that you're not taking it as hard work so much as fun to create the necessary emotions.

May 03, 11:38 PM

Abby's Wedding Dress

Maura - wardrobe picked out a number of dresses, but I chose that one. Yves St. Laurent designed it.

May 03, 11:37 PM

Favorite Guest Stars

Maura/Goran - James Cromwell, Forest Whitaker, James Woods, Sally Field, Louise Fletcher, John Leguiziamo, Stanley Tucci

May 03, 11:34 PM

Lubby Breakup and Getting Back Together

David - I think sometimes people breakup and have other relationships then come back to someone they weren't ready for the first time around.

Maura - the characters' relationship got more interesting when they were friends, which made the romantic relationship possible again.

May 03, 11:32 PM

Lubby Breakup Dialogue? (For Suki)

Goran - Those were the most difficult words put in my mouth ever in my life! We really tried to change it, actors and director, but we just couldn't fight the powers that be. And I bet today even the writer is not happy about how it turned up on the show. And it will NEVER happen again I promise!

David - it wasn't me.

May 03, 11:30 PM

Lubby

David - the truth is there was always a chemistry between Maura and Goran, which is a hard thing to find. When I started running the writing staff I wanted to take advantage of that chemistry and I also thought it was interesting to pursue the story of two people who failed the first time around and get a second chance.

May 03, 11:27 PM

Working with Baby Joe

Maura - Yes Molly, the director and actors know that whatever is written in the scene may not happen if the baby won't cooperate. Especially now that the babies are older. Sometimes unexpected good things happen. There a usually a bunch of twins so that if some babies aren't into it we can try another one.

Goran - Like the scene in Chicago.

David - we were shooting Kovac going away and Abby was holding the baby. The baby reached out and tried to grab Goran. It was a sweet moment and completely spontaneous.

Goran - our favorite babies are Aidan and Andrew in Los Angeles. They are the best baby professionals!

David - One day we had 8 different babies and NONE of them would do it!

Maura - every single baby cried and then I cried! They were tiny infants.

May 03, 11:25 PM

"Ray"

David - Ray's story takes a big turn as though of you who've seen tonight's episode can tell. We will see Shane's character and see how it progresses in the next few episodes.

May 03, 11:24 PM

The Wedding

Goran - Shooting it was fun because everyone from the cast was in a different space, not the usual Stage. It was fun for everyone to be in the same place and not being in scrubs.

Maura - it was fun because David set out to write the "anti-wedding" which he did very well. So it wasn't the traditional wedding, it was dark and funny. Lots of things go wrong but it's fun and full of love.

May 03, 11:22 PM

Goran - Will You Miss "Luka"

Goran - I'll still be on the show next season for some episodes.
Maura - tune in every week to see if he's there!
Goran -I won't be missing my character as much as the people I work with.

May 03, 11:21 PM

Hard to play "angst"

Maura - I feel like the characters are funny too. Abby's funny when David let's her be. I try to find the humor in everything. People with a lot of problems try to find the humor, so that's what I try to do.

May 03, 11:19 PM

Comedy or Drama - which is harder?

Maura - I think it's an interesting question because sometimes both are hard. Sometimes when we're having a long day or there are a lot of actors in the scene it's hard not to joke around. And if the scene is about *Spoiler* Neela dying, it's hard for us to keep a straight face - including the dying person.

David - what's fun about the show is you get to do both.

May 03, 11:19 PM

Is Goran Funny in Real Life?

Maura & David - no. :)

May 03, 11:18 PM

Location Shooting in Chicago

Goran - we shoot in Chicago four times a year.

May 03, 11:17 PM

"Carby"

David - The reason the Luka/Abby relationship is more successful dramatically and emotionally is because the two characters share in common the fact that they both have overcome damaged pasts. They found happiness together despite those pasts.

May 03, 11:16 PM

Re: Dave Foley

Maura - Foley will do a special ER episode of "Thank God You're Here" and we all have to do improv intubations. (kidding)

May 03, 11:15 PM

Time for ourselves...

No we do not golf!

Maura - I like to shop for music in my spare time.

Goran - I like skiing and travelling. I want to go to Stockholm and Copenhagen

May 03, 11:14 PM

To Caroline: Fun on the Set

Goran - Yes, there was always great and relaxed and funny atmosphere on set even though we do difficult stuff. Everyone really likes each other.

Maura - I have the greatest time. I love this job.

May 03, 11:12 PM

Stanley Tucci

David - Stanley Tucci will be in a bunch of episodes next season. He'll bring a new voice of authority and experience to the ER. He'll be in conflict with a lot of characters especially Abby and Pratt. His character begins next week and he's going to contribute a great new energy to the show.

May 03, 11:01 PM

Maura on MySpace?

I am not on MySpace...but that's not to say she isn't the real Maura.

May 03, 10:58 PM

To "CTScan" re:Posted in ER Lockers & Fave Line

Goran -I have the Croatian flag in my locker. "Luka don't dance" from "Hindsight" is my favorite line.

Maura - Abby has gross things. Pictures of people I've never seen before and like a dirty hairbrush, hairspray and deoderant. The prop dept. does it. My favorite line..hmmm...I'll get back to you on that.
