My Role as an Executive Producer

Let me explain what my job is on the show. As the EP and showrunner on the show, I first and foremost am in charge of all scripts and stories. That means I run the writers room and write a lot of scripts, though I have other writers who also work on scripts.

I'm also invovled in casting, choosing music, location scouting. I'm involved in all the creative aspects of the show. Every creative element of the show I'm somehow involved in.

I have been watching ER from day one. I love it! BUT I don't understand why you do not have a character playing a respiratory therapist?? Respiratory is a big role in the ER and when I see the nurses or doctors trying to do the job RT does I cringe.Last Thursday night was it for me when Pratt was trying to show a med student how to draw blood from an artery . GIVE ME A BREAK! The intubation,ventilation,saturations,updrafts,
WHERE IS RESPIRATORY????
And FYI the RT dept in any hospital has always got the juiciest lifestyles going on.(ER docs and RTs usually have affairs,love triangles,etc.) Always a good story line.Full of Traums,Drama,and comedy.
You got it all as close to real as you can get accept this. Please put in a Respiratory Therapist.

When ER first started, my kids couldn't watch it because of all the blood and gore. Now that they are getting older, I can't let them watch it because of the sex/rape scenes. Why does the show always have to have something related to sex in each episode?

I, too missed the opening episode. I would enjoy an encore presentation next week to see this incredible premier. This would probably bring in a huge ratings if you reran it next Thursday at 9:00 before its 10:00 conclusion. I would even tape it and watch it at the same time! I am sure this is going to kill its new rivals on channel 4, especially the show that Sally Field is competing against herself on!

Could the writers and producers of the show continue a possible love angle between Neela and Ray? I prefer the two of them rather than Neela and John Stamos.

Is the show going to be getting any new doctors like in the area of surgery. I think that would be great.

Well, this is a great start of the season. Everything looked so unpredictable! Jerry made it, so, he will live. Abby is safe, but her baby is not. The only thing which I didn't like is Sam's action seconds before the episode was over. She could just take the keys and run. I think that Alex's father would not hurt them. So, I'll be glad if she does some prisontime.

I missed the last 20 minutes of the premier . What happen
did Abbey have to have a hysterectomy . Did Jerry make it ?

I would like to know why in this Season opener, Carrie is not limping, does not use a cane anymore? Have I missed something?

Why won't episodes be available on itunes? Missing tonight's show and not able to see it until a rerun later in the season means we'll probably choose another network show to watch until the reruns start. We were bummed to miss the premiere - fans for 13 years!!

My question is regarding Abraham aka Jerry. I noticed him in a new show on a different station. Are there rules regarding people being on more than one broadcasting station at a time? I know that when for exmpl .. A news caster switches station they have to be off air for a year before returning to the air. Are there guidlines like that for actors & actresses? I would really be disappointed to see Jarry go! ER could not function without Jerry, Frank just doesn't get everyone like Jerry does. And Jerry knows where everything is and how to get things done.

I really hope the show respects their characters history. They have destroyed Luka chance for happiness on one to many occasions. The death of his entire family during war, one girlfriend aborting his baby, and now to have a critical baby-who may or may not die? What does Luka have to do to get a happy ending?

Hey I loved the premiere, I gasped, cried my eyes out and cheered Sam on at the end. I have been watching this show since almost the beginning and it is part of my life! The only disappointment was the theme song! Where did it go? It really didn't feel the same without it! Is it coming back?

Due to a bad storm in our area, cable went out and I missed the last 15 mins. of the show. What happened with Sam? She was being raped the last I saw. And Abby? Did they get the bleeding stopped? They were talking HISTO when my cable went out. How is the baby?

PLEASE SOMEONE, TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED!!!

Please bring the "Original" theme music back THAT IS THE INTRO TO ER:)

I was just wondering why the beginning credits changed? Why would something that er is known for, the opening and the theme song after 13 years? I happy that the baby is ok, although i still think that she should have had carters baby. Thank God jerry is ok.

The show was wonderful tonight. I am really looking forward to this season. Who is the musician singing in tonights show?

Thanks for a great episode. Great use of music and editing (for the last episode as well, too). I thought the rape scene was harsh, but I believe it made Sam's later actions justifiable. I'm relieved Steve is gone, because his storyline was getting really old.

You're fortunate to have such a great cast. Thanks for not killing off Jerry and Joe. It would be nice to have someone have a happy ending without some sort of tragedy for once...

Although E.R. has ended up far away from where it began, it is still a great drama series - tonight being a prime example. I'm a huge fan when it comes to looking at many peoples' situations during the same time period and it couldn't have ended any better than killing off the idiot at the end. When she looked at her son while she was just about to drive off, I was like "Please, PLEASE do it!" and sure enough BAM - dead. Thank you.

I thought last season that ER didn't have the spark that it used to back in the day of Dr Carter's stabbing and Dr Greene's tumor....but tonight's episode has raised my hopes. I've been a viewer and a fan from almost the very start, and I haven't given up on the show - and won't, I hope! The show has certainly lost several great characters....but one thing that always confused me -- why did you kill of Romano??!! Keep up the high-energy and thought-provoking drama!!

how premature was Abby's baby and what are his complications?

I was psyched about ER tonight, had completely forgotten about the season finale. I was on edge the whole time, I really hope that Abby and Luka's baby ends up really healthy, they both deserve it.

I have waited for some time for the return of ER. I loved the show for the most part, however, why in the world was the music SO loud during the scene where the baby was being born? Music should add to your experience and I kept screaming for it to shut up. I couldn't even hear what was being said. It was absolutely distracting and took away from the story line. I felt totally cheated out of the experience of the birth and the parents' reactions as well as Jerry's surgery. You have a very strong cast with a great story line -- don't try to cover it up with LOUD cheesy music!

What is going to happen to Alex and Sam now are they going to be ok going back home? What will everyone's reaction be?
