Beth - Based on Real Person?
Greg - Earl was just based on my own imagination...not on anybody in particular. Although I can say there are various Earls...growing up I knew a lot of earls...and had a lot of them in my own family. So I took a little from every Earl I knew and put them into the character. Except none of the Earls I know are making up for wrong-doing...just keep doing wrong.
Ethan - I think I ran more in the Bad Ralph crowd. I had people in my life who were somewhat like Earl, but not really much anymore now that I have kids. I have to weed those people out, unless they were like our Earl and doing good stuff. There just aren't a whole lot of people like that.

Please write in some episodes on the characters you haven't covered too much yet: the mullet head country boy, the druggy space cadet (esp. a 50 yr old one from woodstock), the anarchist who grew up in suburbia and still lives with his parents....but has protests on the weekends...
Even if Earl is not based on a real person, we can all learn a lot from his character.

While Earl isn't a real person, dang if Jason Lee doesn't remind me of another actor - Bruce Campbell.
Has anyone noticed the resemblance?
