I'm not a metal fan by any means, but the lyrics of this song really appear to be about me. Nice work ;) .

You know, my first radio job was at a station with people who were mostly metalheads who played nothing but death metal. In my opinion, death metal sounds like people burping rather than music, but that's another rant for another day. For the record, I prefer jazz and classic rock. I think I'm the only one I know that likes jazz music, which I think is a little puzzling. Jazz radio stations exist for a reason, right? So there must be other jazz fans out there someplace.

As for online DoND games, I tend to stay away from those. The last one I played, I was down to a final 2 of low amount & ₤100,000 (it was a UK game). I was offered ₤30,000, and took it immediately. The low amount was in my bow, so it was an Epic Win for me. But I haven't played another since, and I don't plan to, because I can't stand to fail, even if it is a game that's just for fun. So I retired on top, I guess. I'm not opposed to hosting online games, but I will never play one again.

I have, however, won millions in other DoND games that I've played online, mostly through playing to the end and not swapping. A few massive wins were attained through accepting bank offers, though. Those were fun, to say the least.

Ah, I feel good now. Thanks for that, Andrew; I needed it.

Listen I think it would really be great if NBC Producers Casting crew whom ever makes the final call on whom gets to be a contestant to choose the loyal bloggers we have stayed faithful and lord knows we have kept the Bankers blog and Nicks blog exciting and interested. Another odd little occurrence, Mark..

I'm sure you'll enjoy this little amusing DonD game we had on a game forum recently.

The board was a special board with 1M, 2M, 4M, and 8M, and the last three were 300, 4M, and 8M (!). 1 and 14 remain on the rack, and 15 (I think..) was the guy's case. So the 4M is removed in 14, and the offer remains at 3.2M. No deal, and we go to the swap...

No swap.

Welcome to Deal... On... Steroids!

I'll say this much: The show should be played like this all the time from now on. You can fit four players into one show, and not waste any time over stupidity, gimmicks, etc. This is EXACTLY how the game should be played, IMO. Finally, a gimmick that we can all enjoy! As Eric said, whoever devised this idea is worthy of a parade in their honour, or some simmilar accolade. This was one of the better special DoND episodes in ages, and this may shock you, but I actually enjoyed it. Let's hope they do this again sometime, or change the show's format to the Deal on Steriods format. If that doesn't save the show, I don't know what will.

Whoever made this speed deal for a 200th episode should be given a parade.

If DOND wants to avoid cancellation, the show needs to do these things in future episodes that they did tonight (1. The contestant has 30 seconds to decide the banker's offer, once the 30 seconds are up, it automatically becomes No Deal. (2. The contestant can chooses cases at the same time.

Well, since the show had four games in it, there were definitely good and bad moments..

Frank didn't really have much of a shot at anything...

Odalys, I know you took the 198K for the proper reasons (though the $244K AMO was too juicy to reasonably pass up!), but why were you not doing a little bit more reflection about whether you thought the 500K was in your case, considering that we were going to commercial, that the time would be best used during that commercial, and that you just *knew* your supporter was going to forcibly wrench your hand onto that button?

If all you're going to do is say Deal instantly, not much point in trying to look confident about your case. If you think it's going to be an "angel and devil" situation, then you might try to reassure yourself. But if you already have the thought formed in your mind that you're taking the 198K, why declare even a slight feeling at all?

Andre keeps the metal alive! And I just knew that supporter would come in to mess things up...Maybe she needs to look at the odds of this game a bit. You just suddenly ran onto the stage and said "You have to take this, because if you remove the 750K....", when the chance of removing the 750K is 2/8 or 25%, compared to the last round where it was 3/11 or 27.27%. Both rounds were one-case games, but you saw no need to barge in after round 3, which was ostensibly the worse situation. Why wait until round 4? And why not do at least a *little* playout?

Danielle, Danielle....fun game, but that 225K was considerable. Again, I take issue at the supporter's logic...After the 1M dropped out and the offer was 99K, she asked Danielle if that was enough for her mother's house. You saw no need to do the same when she was considering the 72K offer that she ended up taking.

Overall: The cake bet was totally foolish. As I thought, Howie doesn't know this game too well. Only 35 out of 256 players won $250K or more, and we need four, or the average of four, of those players strung together to make at least 1M for the day. (35/256)^4 = 0.000349391485 = about 1 in 2,862. And you decided to take that chance?

Well, MM...

There is indeed a difference between two different styles of game, both starting from 13 small and 1M: that in which the 1M is instantly knocked out and the contestant has no chance to avoid being a Mad Mark moron", and that in which the contestant removes 12 small numbers, then blows the whole thing on one foolish jump.

The sound effect isn't right for nighttime DonD...How about using [ TPiR LOSING HORNS ]?

I don't believe they will take nighttime DonD off the air...my numbers have to carry me somewhere. If the numbers were going to burn out, another MDM would have started, leaving me little time to sign up and be millionaire number three before it was actually taped. But they didn't, so that tells me this show is still "on".

Yes, daytime DonD feels better, but if anything, the contestants are even worse. Look at some of the offers taken: 33K vs. 500 / 100K! 66K vs. 500K and two! Plus, Chelsea Drake would have won if she'd had the proper guidance (considering the lack of her own.)

Yeah, take the supporters out and you apparently get contestants to take even worse offers than the ones on the primetime show. Have you ever wondered on a lot of the high offers whether Tomorrow might have chickened out without the help of the bench? That's exactly what happened to Chelsea. Though, as we know, Chelsea is incapable of using her *own* words as her guidance, and obviously still hasn't figured out that if A (75K) > B (what she claimed to be a "loss"), and C (100K) > A, then C > B. You learn that in sixth grade.

Yes, it is "Once Again". Once again Case 27 (I think you try to live up to being called Mad Mark, pretending to alwasys being upset). Hey, for someone to complain so much about the DOND show, you seem to not be able to get enough of watching it. You know what they say "Just Say No", change the station if the show is upseting you. And for your information I have watched the syndicated version, and while it is good, I think the excitment is gone to fast, because there is not enough big amounts like the primetime version, but I still love watching it.
While you seem not to like the excitment of anticipation of waiting to see what's going to happen, I do. Why do you act like you know what is going to happen after the commerical? No one knows. Go back to being Case 27, trying to act mad all the time is silly. Your posting like it's "my way or the highway" another old saying. As Case 27 it was like you were the missing link.

PS: What makes you guys think you have the inside information on a DOND cancelation?

Once again, you shine with one of your responses. Hollywood Junket says that production on both versions of DoND has been halted, and that one of them may leave the air. My money's on the primetime version, since it's been in a downward spiral for a long time now. It's jumped the shark numerous times now, and not even the two jackpot winners could save its ratings. More and more people have discovered the syndie version, which is loads better than this one is. Don't expect it to last another season. Seriously, folks. If I want to watch DoND, I'll watch the syndie version, because the primetime verson takes forever to do simple things like opening a single case. I'm sorry, but 5 minutes to open a single case is just too much. It's things like this that have become the show's undoing. You all wonder why the Banker hasn't replied yet? It's because he's possibly been let go by the show, or some other reason. Draw your own conclusions. The syndie version gives you all the DoND you love, without the unnecessary fat. I suggest you all take some time to discover it. Who knows, maybe you like it. It's miles better than this 9-ring circus, that's for darn sure.

There are a few people on this blog that claim they are disappointed with "Deal Or No Deal". Not me though. I love the show. Evidently, you don't realize that the name of the game is WIN or Lose it's up to you. The show gives the Contestant a chance to walk away with a win, it's all in the choices you make. It has alot to do with inner greed. To have a life changing amount in your reach or thinking the Money Board is yours.

What I think is DOND needs to put on a shocking, wonderful show using us bloggers. It's a different concept I don't think has ever been done. Just think Mr. Banker's blog comes to life. WOW!!! People would love it. It would be like bringing together a family, a blogging family.

PS: I still feel your not gone, but that you are among us bloggers. You go Mr. Banker, that would be a neat way to get your points accross.

Bad luck is one thing, but going all the way to win crap is another. There have been lots of unlucky games. There was this Season 1 game where this chick went all the way to win $750. It was funny because of the Howie's humour, and it will forever be the only wipeout game that I enjoyed. After the first few rounds, the highest amount left on the board was $750, because the larger amounts had been vaporized early. And then, Howie and the contestant had some laughs about the Banker's offers. It was fun to watch.

But seriously, these low wins need to stop. It doesn't make for good TV. You all wonder why the primetime version's ratings are slipping? This is one of the reasons why. I hope it ends soon, because it's really getting hard to watch.

NONE OF THEM EVER HAD A CHANCE AT LOTS OF MONEY AS YOU DEFINE IT. What did you want them to do, take the first offer and then get totally slammed for only taking home $15,000?

By using absolute generalizations, you put some people in the group you want to put them in, but you also draw in a bunch of others who don't belong.

If you classify people who win something on the left side as morons, you include your target of people who remove all 12 large numbers other than 1M, then all 12 small numbers other than .01, and then take the jump for the 1M and FAIL. But you also rake people in who removed all 13 large numbers, leaving them no chance to take out enough money to escape moron status just because of a horrendous case distribution.

If you were to classify all Muslim extremists as pieces of filth, you definitely attack your target group of those who were once good Muslims but decided to use their religion to justify killing people. And yes, I would agree with you. But you also attack the section of extremists who were taught this way from birth and know no better. It's not their fault!

When it happened because the biggest three cases were eliminated in three picks (a chance of 1 in 198)? I really take issue at that.

Let's take an extreme case, if you will...I get on the show and take the entire board apart from the top, one case at a time. $1M, $750K, $500K, $400K, $300K, and $200K compose round 1, and obviously the first offer is not going to be "big money" as you define it, so it shouldn't be taken. Now the second round is $100K, $75K, $50K, $25K, and $10K. I can no longer avoid "failing to win big", and I did not make a single moronic decision. There is only one thing you can call this, and that is bad luck. Right? So then what is Vinny?

There's a difference between running into all the amounts early and having a run of good luck, then getting too greedy and blowing the whole lid off your chances.

How about Keisha Brown, who had a shot at no more than $31,000?

James Berkeley, no higher than $27,000?

Mike Wildes, no more than $25,000?

Janie Colosso, highest offer $16,000?

Are they all morons too?

You two are absoultely right (as usual). You've both done a good job of summing up all of the many problems that the primetime version has. The daytime version has none of these flaws. The worst things they've done is these tie-ins with HP and some bottled-water company. And that's not so bad, once you think about it. $1,000 + free water for a year and $10,000 worth of HP stuff are not bad bonus prizes.

But back to the primetime version, Vinny's game did not deserve to air. It was horrible. He was an idiot, and he basically gave up when his brother showed up. He basically said, "Screw the money, I'm going to make an ass of myself because my brother's now here." Big freakin' whoop. Despite having two millionaires who won with boards that were on steroids, this has been a terrible season for DoND thus far. More and more people are turning away from this version and switching to the daytime version (which has had its share of moronic contestants as well, but that's another story for another day). In short:

Daytime Version: DoND done RIGHT. All the DoND you need, minus the unnecessary fat.

Primetime Version: DoND done ABSOULTELY WRONG, and you all know the many reasons why. If I were to list them, I'd be repeating what Andrew and Eric just said.

Don't be suprised if the primetime version bites the dust. I can't see it lasting past this season. Sorry for the negativity, but it's the honest truth. Deal with it (no pun intended).

To all our contestant hopefuls, you all should put your DoND dreams on hold for now. The article on this site, http://www.buzzerblog.com , should explain to you why. I strongly reccommend you read it thoroughly. When production resumes on the syndie version, if at all, apply for that. But by all means, don't try to apply for the primetime version for now. I'm saying this for your own good.

Did you know that NBC is the home of Super Bowl XLIII and it's on February 1, 2009. What are the chances Deal or no Deal will still be on the air then? Andrew B there is just too many flaws with the primetime version not even Al Michaels or John Madden would love. The syndicated version of DOND is fast-paced, the contestants are not wild or over the top with their behavior when something good happens, and best of all, the contestant has no support group to help him or her. Andrew B, I just hope DOND works out some issues before it's too late.

P.S. Dawn Mays, Deal or no Deal is not being cancelled, the show has some issues to work out.

That show totally didn't belong, but not because he loses. Maybe you noticed that he lost all three large numbers in the round of 3? There's not much he can do about that.

And they've stopped production until they can "get some issues worked out". Issues? How about the horrific editing of the games of Layna, Tomorrow, and Tommy? Changing to the editing used for Koshka and Jessica would improve your ratings - and keep them that way.

It would also help to:

- not lie in the commercials about a contestant "racing for the million" when they wipe it out in the first round.

- stop spoiling $1M wins. If you continue to do this, no matter what you try to put in the promo of a game that doesn't contain a 1M winner, the viewers will associate non-winners with no spoiler and turn the show off. Keep us guessing just a little bit as to exactly how much they'll win...

- put the commercials in the right places. If you're going to go to a commercial to try to build suspense for something that has already been spoiled in the promo, don't go to commercial at all. If the game could end on the next pick, open the case and *then* go to commercial if the game is still undecided.

- put a few carryovers in! Then there isn't going to be a "squeezed" game where we can tell where the game is going because of the lack of time.

- enough with the reunions as the *only* selling point of a show. That's not why we watch this show, and how many times have you set up a reunion? B-O-R-I-N-G.

- Fire Howie's alter ego of "Captain Obvious".

I said this back in February, It's not a question of if Deal or no Deal's going to be canceled but when it's going to be canceled. The syndicated version is way better than the primetime one. It's fast-paced, there are no supporters for the contestant, and they're not as wild and crazy. Anyway, I have to agree with you. Vinny only won $50 despite seeing his brother for the first time in 25 years. Mad Mark, what did you think of Deal or no Deal in October? I thought the show redeemed itself with Tomorrow Rodriguez winning the million other than Richard Dell committing the biggest choke job in DOND history.

I think that was the best game I've ever seen in the history of DoND. Congratualations to Tomorrow. Enjoy the money, and spend it wisely.

You know, after the $300 was revealed in case 15, I was expecting a bank offer. I wonder what it would have been. $1,000,001, perhaps :D ? Oddly enough, this win occurred with case 7, which is notorious for having low amounts inside. However, during about 90% of the MDM games, it had $1 million. Looks like someone was paying attention when they were watching at home ;) . And 7 is my favorite number as well. That's the icing on the cake.

Andrew, I love your little numerical analysis there. Most of us would have never noticed those odd coincidences that you mentioned. Thanks for bringing that up. I guess if you're playing, and you're lucky enough to be playing an MDM game, choose case 7 or 25 as your case, and then play to the end. The rewards will be great.

One more thing: Tomorrow is one of the most interesting names I've ever heard. If you go to Boston, it would be pronounced "Tamara", which is also a perfectly valid name.

Not only have I noticed, as previously mentioned, that you're aging quite quickly, but this year I've noticed your posture is really out of wack. Then I went and checked the ticket website-they are still showing tapings for the Prime Time show.

Maybe (and again, this is conjecture-not intended as a rumor-remember, we were trying to come up with reasons for Nick's absence, too-and he faithfully pops back onto his blog)
Maybe the daytime version has been canceled-which would be a shame. I think there are tons of viewers, but the website is not user friendly at this point.

Either way-FABULOUS episode last night. I felt it ran a bit long, but the finale was FANTASTIC! (only thing that could top it is when ALL your bloggers are on stage, walking out with one case each!)

Well, banker? You failed again. And you did get humiliated again. Admit you suck and come out of that office kneeling at our feet!

And yes, Catak, he is scared. That's why he destroyed his office after getting owned a second time. :)

Now, I see another bunch of coincidences in this episode...We'll get to the first two later.

Tomorrow won with 7, with a 9M board. Jessica won with 4, with a 5M board. 7 + 9 + 4 + 5 = .....what else? TWENTY-FIVE. 25 had a 1M in this game!

Plus, add the individual 7 + 9 and 5 + 4 together and we get the two numbers that we like to see add up to 25.....16 and 9. (!)

Tomorrow won with just 3M. Jessica won with the top three amounts as well.

Tomorrow had her daughter picking cases everywhere, and was always correct. Jessica had the same sort of thing.

"Tomorrow" is 10/30, which has a difference of 20. 20 was a case shouted out all the time, and 300 / 15 = 20. 677,000 = 6 + 7 + 7 = 20.

Now, let's go back to what we have earlier.

After the first two rounds, we have 7M / 20, and 4M / 15. Recognize these numbers anywhere? 7 and 4, then 20 and 15.

1M winners, plus their support: 300 and 3M, and a total of 300,000 backing up that 1M.

First comment...Did the producers forget how to edit a show? 23 cases in 86 minutes? Jessica opened all 26 cases in 57 minutes.

If you're just going to spoil the game, there's no point in dragging it out when we know what happens.

They took a commercial after the $423,000 was offered and another commercial after the offer was turned down. Absolutely pointless...And why the commercial before the final case? Just open the case and see if a commercial is required.

Again, the mother or whoever that was saying Deal totally cannot see out of either side of her head. DEAL at 3 vs. 3? Because it's enough for the car, honeymoon, and education? So is the following offer if she removes a 1M.

- Sometimes "following your heart" risks winning nothing.

- You're going to use the Stupid Meter to eject a contestant's greedy No Deal before they've even picked their next case? They could get away with it.

- We've given you multiple chances to win 1M, but you're doing nothing but leave with 50, so we throw out the tape? Well, if they were to dodge the win of 50 by quitting, they would blow the shot at 1M as well.

- Was Brooks' second game incinerator food?

- People don't want to watch fail...Well, explain why there's videos of Heather and Ritchie, and I'm sure more out there, recorded live, with the watcher laughing his shirt off over the massive fail on the screen? They certainly enjoy it.

- 172,000 for .01 is the best deal by *percentages*. Best deal by dollars is actually Cyndi - 407,000 for 75, or 402,000 for 400 if you want to stay in regular play. Ritchie could have broken this with the acceptance of any of the last three offers, Anita could have done it with the 411K, and Efren could have made it with $493,000 for $10.

I heard your response. Gerardo recently posted on Ritchie's video, so he is still active around here, but he doesn't really have things to say specifically here.

If we thought watching people fail was bad TV, you're mistaken. Even DonD contestants playing the game say they enjoy telling people off from their seats. And if failure wasn't funny, no one would have invented Wipeout on ABC, the Fail Blog wouldn't be an Internet meme..

Now that I've gone over this a bit more, I believe Richie is in a special and small group of "objective morons" - players who made moronic decisions, but for the correct reasons.

Brooks' first time, however, was where he was too greedy, and he might just deserve to be labeled as a moron. However, he did well the second time back and proved he isn't as stupid as that.

The group includes Ritchie, Koshka (possibly), Brett, and Demetres (possibly).

Koshka did have an arguable reason, just not a solid reason, and she doesn't act stupid. Plus, if she cares more about the bling than the bling-bling, fine with me.

Ritchie had absolutely no pressure on him, so you could argue that he thinks this way in real life, but if he's not worried about losing a bunch of money, and he shrugs it off after the failure, I'll let him.

Brett Kurtz, however, is someone else. His decision was quite a bad one, but his statement about loving his family more than the money is what allows him to be fine with winning anything. I do wish, though, that if he was "playing for points" he would take an AMO...and that Katie Henslin didn't watch Brett's interview and make the same mistake. :P

Demetres' decision defines moronic, but I just can't define her as a moron when there is a severe dearth of six-figure cases won. When we add Richie to the mix, six players have attempted to take out a case $100,000 or more: Demetres, Jessica, Michelle, Koshka, Peter, and Richie.

All three players that had a safety net won, and all three players who didn't lost! This anomaly NEEDS TO BE FIXED.

If it's a family blog, tone down even censored swearing.

A house plant wouldn't play better than the contestants because they would be leaving in the first couple rounds. Only a handful of games - maybe about ten - exist where the first offer was the best one.

Ok first of all, I'm sure the Banker is actually a normal person who has his nice and mean moments just like the rest of us. It probably isn't even him writing the blogs. Think about it. And if he is..he get's PAID to do this. In the shows he is cast as the villain, he doesn't want you to go home with money. So OF COURSE here he is mean. It makes it interesting. But it is so patently fake that its not even funny. And just for the record..props to the banker. He is literally the most important person on the show..who is completely hidden at all times, and has to sit there for who knows how long making calculations. Which, I might add, makes him obviously quite intelligent. The ONLY reason I am posting on this site is that I am stuck at work..with absolutely NOTHING to do. I probably won't ever be back here, because I tend to have a life. I'm not sure if the rest of you do. Not to be mean...I am a very easy going and polite person. But really...mass stupidity does tend to annoy me.

Richard-we could always come up with a way to make your joke a reality...a pillow case and zip ties do wonders. (just kidding folks, remember-this is supposed to be a FUN blog.

I've got a few things to say about tonight..

Why do these supporters continue to think in one dimension?

"[My daughter] deserves the $1M"...yeah, but you told her to quit.

"We came here for 1M..."...and you also told her to quit.

"There's no net..." True, but did the possibility that the net might break slip your mind when you said to go to the end?

And the husband said that because of the donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters, they're winners regardless. Um, even if you win $400, $100K is still going over there!

After watching the show on Oct. 22, I'm convinced that your contestants are just actors. No regular person would turn down $400K without a safety net.
For example, on Jeopardy, they knock their brains out for $10K and all this guy needs is to push a red button for $400K and he passes!!!

So let's more strictly define the Monty Hall Problem.

Let's use the example from parade Magazine cited in Wikipedia:

You pick a door, say No. 1, and the host, who knows what's behind the doors, opens another door, say No. 3, which has a goat. He then says to you, "Do you want to pick door No. 2?" Is it to your advantage to switch your choice? (Whitaker 1990)"

The conclusion there was "The total probability of winning when switching is thus 2/3."

However there is a KEY ASSUMPTION made in the problem definition. It states "the host, who knows what's behind the doors, opens another door".

This is NOT THE FACT in the DOND situation. Howie does not know what is behind each case lid. (Supposedly no one does.)

All you know in the Richard Bell game was one small amount case and one large amount case were left, supposedly randomly filled from 26 different values before the start of the game.

Therefore, the likelihood of having the large amount case in your hand is just 50% in the DOND game.

In other words, switching cases in the actual DOND game is a 50/50 win-loss scenario.

To make DOND a Monty Hall Problem would require Howie to peak into each of the last 3 cases, verify that there were two small amounts and one large amount, then ask the corresponding model to open up her small amount case.

In that theoretical circumstance, the contestant should switch cases as their final choice. Why? 2 out of 3 times, before Howie eliminated one of the low cases, the high value case was with one the models. 1 out of 3 times, the contestant would hold the high value case. Howie removing one of the low value cases and its model would double the odds that the remaining model's case had the high value, while not changing the odds that the contestant's case had the large value (1 of 3).

The Monty Hall Problem is not the situation faced by Richard Bell.

Mad Mark (but your Case 27 to me, which I thought was an edgeier name than Mad Mark) Didn't you watch the show? DOND didn't slip Richie $10,000, he won it as a challenge by keeping his blood pressure under 140. And all of your smacking about the show last night, is just what I called it SMACK. It was a great show!! The only thing wrong he listened to Supporters who were concerned about themselves, and knowing he gives everthing of him self unselfishly to them (Richie knew those last 2 offers were out of this world) but he listened to the greed of his
Supporters. His Mom knew the right thing to do though, she should have been upon that stage with him instead of those greedy Supporters. It is not about an IQ, it's about are you willing to stop when the money is good, or are you greedy.

It might sound like inane gibberish, but with regards to this show, it makes perfect sense. There have been rumours about a second millionaire on DoND. The show's page here on NBC.com stops mentioning how many million dollar cases will be in the game(s) after the game with 9 MDCs. There's your "niner". Something tells me that we'll get our second millionaire on that show.

By the way, it seems that Richie "I Could Have Been" Rich somehow earned a $10,000 bonus after yesterday's Epic Failure. The DoND home page lists him as a $10,001 winner. Looks like someone slipped him some extra cash under the table. Either that, or they were too embarrassed to post $1 as his winnings. Or maybe they gave him the home viewer prize of $10,000. Not that he deserves it, but I guess a $10,000 bonus is better than a free picture of George Washington.

Andrew, why do you always have to analyze the hell out of everything?! It's less about statistics and more about how stupid the players are. Okay, so it's not always wise to swap, but sometimes it is (or was).

And here's another way that DoND could be improved: Give the contestants a $10,000 bonus if they make it through the first round without losing the million. This rule applies to standard games only.

Imagine if the Aussies listened to your idea. The person who risked $102,500 for 5 or 200K would not have won, and they would have to wait a significantly longer time for Anh Do to take the 200K from 75K vs. 200K.

In any case, the "easiest 1M ever" is Tommy by a long shot!

Maybe you need to check the facts before you decide!

The difference between LMAD and DonD is that (let's take three cases), when you choose a case in LMAD, Howie automatically opens one of the other cases he knows isn't 1M. Therefore, there is a 100% chance the 1M remains, and you are left with a 1/3 out of 3/3 chance that the 1M was in your case.

In DonD, however, the case you pick COULD have 1M, and then yes, you won't win it by staying. But you're not going to win by swapping either.

That chance is 1/3, so now there is a 2/3 chance it has survived.

You are now dealing with a 1/3 OUT OF 2/3, not out of 3/3, chance you are holding the 1M or the rack is holding it.

The 15/31 record of having the top prize when it's alive in the final two supports my theory and not yours!

Andrew, I want to make it very clear that I suck at math. However, I am now very much an advocate of the swap. If it were me playing, it would have been the easiest million dollar win ever because of that.

By the way, I have a way to make DoND better. If a contestant makes a really bad decision, an alarm goes off, a trap door opens underneath their feet, and they fall into a pit. The board is then cleared, and a new game begins with a new player. There is no need to waste time with idiot contestants. Applications for this show should say "Your IQ must be more than 70 if you wish to be a contestant. Those who have an IQ of less than 70 need not apply, and should seek medical or psychiatric attention immediately."

Can you say "ALWAYS SWAP CASES!" when, yes, we would have two 1M winners now, but we wouldn't have Jessica?

Can you say Richie is a douchebag for going on to get the 1 if MB is also a douchebag for stopping and losing the 1M? One way or another, you're a douchebag, and the best way to not be a douchebag is to follow your heart. If you follow your heart to sell the 1M or to get the 1, you're justified. If you follow your heart to sell the 1 or get the 1M, you're also justified.

Either way he decided, Richie was risking the loss of $584,000 or $415,999. When you could lose by doing either decision, the only guide you have is what you believe is the right decision.

You can apply this to a question of faith: Imagine I was in the same situation. If I believe God tells me to get the 1M, I go for the 1M. If I believe God wants me to not be greedy, I take the 416K.

Yes, if I go for the 1M, I could get the 1 and God will say "I gave you 416K, you're so ungrateful!", and if I sell the 1M for 416K, God could say "I told you to go, but you have so little faith!"

I'm risking that whatever I do. I'm risking people saying "Where's your God now, huh?!" whatever I do.

Dawn, I want to give you a massive hug right now, becuase you finally understood what Andrew, Eric and I have been saying all along - negativity in excess is bad, while negativity in moderation is good. I don't want to see any more douchebags playing the game, but the idiotic producers assume that we'll like them. Wrong! if only today's douchebag had known about the Monty Hall Problem, or about how to press a button, he'd have been a richer man.

In the Monty Hall Problem, you are presented with three doors. Two contain goats; the other a new car. You pick a door, and the host then has to open another one. You then get the option to switch doors. I once did this experiment in class. I picked door #1. Door #2 was then opened, revealing a goat. I was then left with doors 1 and 3. Given the option to swap, I immediately imagined myself as a contestant on DoND who was down to $0.01 and $1 million as a final two. I swapped my original door #1 for door #3, and wound up with a new car (or $1 million).

What am I trying to say here? It's simple - when you get down to the final two cases, with one big amount and one small amount, ALWAYS SWAP!!! The smaller amount is almost always in your case. Numerous trainwrecks on this show could have been prevented if those idiot contestants knew the meaning of one small 4-letter word, SWAP. So, if you decide to play to the end, and want to avoid embarrassing yourself on national TV, SWAP YOUR CASE!!! I don't care if the case in front of you is the date of your wedding anniversary, or your lucky number. Your bank account will be significantly increased if you just SWAP YOUR CASE!!!

Call me when you decided to use the brains that you were given, or is that too hard for you to do?

If you were offended by the above, you really shouldn't have been. You should know by now that I am a relentless contestant-basher who will stop at nothing to expose the many, many flaws that this show has. If you don't like that, that's your choice. Someone here has to stand up, be fearless, and tell it like it is, and since none of you wish to do so, I have taken it upon myself to do it.

I guess I am "My Own Worst Enemy", because I have no enemies, really. To know me is to love me, true.
Why just the other day "Kath & Kim" insisted that I meet them, "Chuck", and also a man that keeps
saying, "My Name Is Earl" ( I figured he just loves his name ), at "30 Rock" to play "Poker After Dark". I had to say no though, because I had a "Dateline" problem. I had to go with my daughters, what I call the "Lipstick Jungle", out on the town in the "Friday Night Lights. Hey that's "Life". They (Laura, Leslie, and Leanne) wanted to do this with "Passions". If I had broken my promise to my daughters they would have been one of "The Biggest Loser: Families", and to me that is one of " America's Toughest Jobs" keeping your promises.
Later on "Crusoe", and the "Knight Rider", who to me are "Kings" among men, went to "Jay Leno's Garage" and picked up a car to take us out to dinner. Sitting next to us at the restaurant was a "Medium". We decided to see what she might have to say to us. She took out her cards and said "Deal Or No Deal"?
She began to talk and said, "These the "Days Of Our Lives" are about to be revealed". One day you the Caroots family will meet your "Heros" of your favorite TV shows. One day you will be called to the "The Office" of NBC, because you won a contest to makes a cameo appearance on "Law & Order", "Law & Order: CI", and "Law & Order: SVU". WOW, Isn't "Life" great!!!! I am wondering what our "Most Outrageous Moments" will be from this experience. With this "Night Gallery" of people in the restaurant was so over whelming, that I felt faint. So on the way to my home on Sesame Street, (STOP LAUGHING!! I know all of you are) we stoped at the "ER" to make sure I was fine. The Doctor said go home, kick off your shoes and relax. Have a good laugh watching "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, "Late Night with Conan O'Brien", and top it off with "Last Call with Carson Daly". With all that's going on with the 2008 Presidential run, "Saturday Night Live" is the show that can really make you double up laughing!!! Boy Oh Boy!!!", "America's Got Talent"!!!!!!!!

Maybe one of you could answer my question (since mr. Banker seems to be ignoring us)...
Have any of the daytime contestants won the half million? I missed a couple of episodes, so might have missed it. Yesterday's first episode was sad-she only won $57 (and had $100 in her case).

Either way, I still say that Mr. Producer St. John is missing a golden opportunity (and with the value of gold right now-he should really cash in) by waiting too long to have a daytime Blogger episode-where ALL of Mr. Banker's (and Nick's) faithful bloggers are pitted against each other.

We would definitely be supportive of each other for the entire week-hoping our case was the one that Tameka and Patricia landed on. And, just as the special week with the Evain spinner, Mr. Banker could add a microsoft spinner, and one lucky person each day would win a new computer (quite appropriate for the bloggers-especially since several of us are in desparate need on one-I'd really really like it if Martha got a new computer; she truly deserves one)

So, Mr. Banker, now that I have laid out the entire scheme for the week's episodes, pick up the phone and instead of calling Howie.....

Attention, NBC: Wheel of Fortune crowned its first $1,000,000 winner tonight, in only the 27th show it has been offered. You have to land on the $1M wedge during the game (1/72), solve the puzzle (1/3), go to the bonus round (1/3), spin the 1M on the mini-wheel (1/24), AND solve the puzzle (objective score). That's 1 in 15,552 shows where the bonus round puzzle is solved. And WoF did it in 27.

Ahem.....Why did it take you guys 218 "regular $1M top prize" shows with 379 $1M cases to give out a million when, on average, just over 5 of those $1M cases should be selected every three shows?

The experimental probability of someone going on to the end has been (34/209) = 16.27%.

Which means the 1M should have been won every (1/(34/209)) * (379/218) = 10.69 shows out of the 218 that were played before we got one. Which means there should have been 20.4 $1M winners by the time we had one!

I always knew your contestant selection process was pretty bad...

I hope you understand which actions are moronic and which ones are perfectly good reasons. Taken in isolation, any one of the "No" reasons could be a reason to quit.

However, Marybeth, somewhat unintelligently, destroyed the backing of every single reason she could have to quit with contradictory actions or words on the stage.

In effect, he did, Eric. He swapped cases for it.

NOTICE, Dawn: The contestant is almost NEVER shot at because of the gameplay, the statistics, or why they quit.

It's whether they said they would play, whether they misjudged the statistics, or whether they could have seen this possibility coming.

While I can shoot at MB for the statistics, it's not an effective argument without at least some degree of certainty. Even 2-1 odds aren't enough for a pure coin-flip shot, just for the fun of it.

Meanwhile, otherwise, the gameplay and why she quit are good reasons to stop, except for how she disproved the second.

Why MB is on the top of the blacklist is:

Quitting with $25 vs. $1M? No. Ignoring the lack of a net, or the possibility of no net, the entire game? Yes.

Not being sure enough? No. Having said she was earlier, knowing the net could fail? Yes.

For love of John? No. Claiming that after not listening to him when he is telling you to take $341K so you two can have a future? YES.

Quitting due to the lack of a net? No. Saying you had a million six times during the time when there wasn't a net, THEN quitting? YES.

Being worried about no net? No. You saying $1M is in 13 after your dad says there is a 2/3 chance of breaking the net in round 9, and then quitting BECAUSE there wasn't a net? YES.

Not knowing the magnitude of her decision? No. Saying it's in case 13, even after Howie questions whether you really have it, and also knowing you have to go up to the podium and PROVE IT? YES.

Listening to John, his faulty statistics aside? No. Listening to someone who can't possibly know any better than MB's "certainty" about the location of $1,000,000? YES.

Having stage pressure? Maybe, maybe not. Not seeing that $341,000 is a fortune you might not be able to turn down, and failing to keep quiet about the location of the 1M? YES.

Having doubt? NO.

Denying you had a shred of doubt, off the stage, with no pressure, EVEN THOUGH YOU SHOWED DOUBT BY QUITTING THE GAME?

YES!

Hello Faithful Bloggers! Wow I miss chatting with you all everyday. Im soooooo way beyond touched from all the love Ive gotten regarding the wedding show not being me. I have a confession to make. I haven't been able to watch the Primetime show since Sept. I have seen the syndicated one a couple of times, but the PrimeTime show causes me pain and Im ashamed to admit it. I have dreamt of NOTHING else but being on the show with Howie and All the models, meeting my favorite model Haley, and at least having a real shot at the million dollar prize. Win or Lose I just KNEW I would at the least have a shot. I first auditioned in 2006, I mailed in a tape and went to the Shrine in LA. I sang my BradyBunch song entitled The Wedding Crunch. I was called back to tape a Mock show 3 days later, which I won the milion dollars. I wanted to win money to pay for my wedding, pay off our debt, buy a truck to carry our family of 7, and put a downpayment on a house. I cancelled my April 07 wedding in hopes I would get the call. The call never came. I sent in another tape 1 year later, still no call. I reaudition 2 weeks before my April 08 wedding and during that time they were looking for folks to be on the syndicated show. I didnt want to be on the syndicated show, I wanted a show of my own, with all my family and friends I've driven crazy for 2 yrs to be there with me, and to have a real chance at the prize that drove me to audition in the first place, 1 million dollars. My office has been a DOND shrine since 2006, My cell phone rang the bankers ring since 2006, I used to blog everyday, and I have a MYNBC page dedicated to My DOND obsession, with videos on MYNBC and YouTube of my Office shrine. I have flyers with me on stage with Howie and the models which Ive looked at since 2006. My ultimate dream was to show my kids that if you believed long and hard enough, your dream would come true, and they would be there to witness it for themselves. Ive gone 44 years and never felt jealous of anyone ever. Now when I watch the primetime show, for the first time in my life I feel jealousy because I dont understand why I wasn't deserving of a primetime show of my own. I dont like that feeling. Ive always been happy for other people's success. Now Im laid off from my job, we still have only 1 small car, and live in a small 2 bedroom apt and have even more debt since the wedding. I now know I have to find another way to make my dream come true. Working a regular 9-5 job will not get me a house, a truck and out of debt in this economy any time soon so I have to shift my dream because I no longer believe that I will ever be on a primetime DOND show. I have carried the dream long enough. I thank you all for carrying my dream along with your own, and know if I watch the primetime show again it will only be because one of the bloggers is on it. I hope one day the pain will pass because Ive never loved a game show like this before. It has the ability to make a regular persons dream come true in 1 hour. In our world today, it helps to see something amazing on TV that changes lives in a fun and happy way. I will continue to check in on you all, I will blog when my heart doesnt hurt to do so, and the regulars will always feel like an extended family to me. But, Let me speak for myself when I say" GET A LIFE" dude this is an entertaining show, it's a game, it's for fun!!! I plan on getting on the show this season and WILL!! I am going to state I will go all the way and win a Million!!! Does that make me a bad player if I take 110,000 Dollars half way thur the game? or if I go all the way and win 500.00 Dollars? I think not!! each player plays the game the way they want to play!!

Went downstairs to add the MILLIONS to "Million Dollar Mission" day.
He didn't think, and made a terrible, terrible, terrible mistake
Mr. Banker forgot to leave a trail of $ signs to find his way back up the stairs, oh goodness sake!
How many $ signs would it have taken to help Mr. Banker back up the stairs to his hideaway?
1$! 2$! 3$! 4$! (etc.) He is the only one that knows how many will be on the Money Board.
You know it really doesn't mean a thing of how many Millions are on the Money Board, it doesn't better your chances. I just brings you down more every time you take one of the Millions out. Not me thought, I laugh in the face of negativity, I am the future winner of one of Mr. Banker's Million Dollars.

I think Dollydeb and Dawn are not looking at why the contestants are labeled.

EX: Katie Henslin...

For dealing at $449,000 when there is a 200 vs. 1M board? No.

For calling $449,000 not a loss when a $491,000 offer was refused earlier? Yes.

For doing it for the good of your daughter? No. (Russ Chanice proves this.)

For saying that you couldn't give your daughter $551,000 "for her"? Yes. I'm sure that deliberately throwing away $551,000 just because you're scared is a GREAT way to prepare her for college. :P

For not listening to your bench because they don't know what your daughter needs? No.

For not listening to someone who KNOWS what your daughter needs, and who is the FATHER of that child? YES.

For being scared of $200 vs. $1,000,000? No.

For doing NOTHING to stop this from happening, even though you knew it was coming? YES.

For the pure misfortune of selling the $1,000,000? No.

For not knowing that a $200 vs. $1,000,000 situation could arise, and to stop yourself from double-dealing your words?

YES.

Notice that, out of this list, Neal Washington, Jay Garrity, and possibly even Katie, Tommy, and MB (!), would all have been let go if they had stuck with the "bad luck" lines instead of the "Mad Mark idiot" lines.

Alecia Whitaker, Cecil Richardson, Johnnie Taylor, Matty Sollena, and Tammy Fuller would get FULLY POSITIVE mention, rather than the .

Tracee Jones and George Barnes, of course, were just bad luck.

Wynetta, Garrett, Hugh and Dave would probably be the only four to get slightly negative to scathing reviews from us. And I wouldn't be all that harsh on Wynetta, even.

Do you see how much different this blog would be if people were to just see to the end of the game and select their words a little more carefully?

At least they didn't spoil the heck out of the game..

If we reran it slowly we might catch what the case was, but I didn't. (Good. Now don't spoil it when it happens. :))

You know, I never did see that show. Maybe it's better that way. So, someone will be joining Jessica in the Millionaire Club soon. That's great news. Given that the next few games will feature between 7 and 9 million dollar cases, it'll make everything easier. Someone winning a million bucks is certainly an Epic Win on all levels. However, I think they're going to have to rename the show "Million Dollar Mission" at some point, since we probably won't see another game with a normal board ever again.

Here are my predictions for the next 3 episodes of DoND:

Oct. 22nd: FAIL
Oct. 24th: FAIL
Oct. 29th: FAIL

Basically, we won't get a millionaire for a long time, and all of the million dollar cases will be gone by the 3rd or 4th round. Plus, one person may elminate 4 MDCs or more in the 1st or 2nd round of their game. Don't expect wins of $300,000 or more, unless the contestants accidentally get lucky. Of course, this could also result in a bad deal, which also equals FAIL.

And that's your DoND Forecast.

If LB had gotten on the show, we wouldn't have had to put up with Friday night's crapfest. LB would have done much better, I guarantee. The producers were stupid for denying her this chance to shine. She'd have certainly donw far better than the idiot on Friday's show, I can tell you that much. When the million dollar cases are all eliminated within the firsr 2 rounds of play, that's your signal to turn on the damn TV, because at that point, the show is no longer worth watching. And another thing, what exactly does LB stand for anyway?

You know something? I almost turned off the TV after Layna knocked off the last million but I continued to watch. Layna bounced back and won a respectable $27,000 so it could've have been so much worse. Mad Mark, I have to agree October has been unkind again to the show, but the month is still very young so anything can happen.

What a terrible show. Personally, I wouldn't have aired that episode. Here's why. When the MDM was first started, they chose not to air one episode because the contestant elimiated both of her million dollar cases in the first round. She went on to win $50,000 though her chosen case. This person did pretty much the same thing, AND THEY STILL AIRED IT! Why, NBC, why? I guess the only goog game this season was Jessica's. The rest will all be craptacular like this one. Don't expect another millionaire for at least 10 years, when no one cares anymore. Remember, it's not about the contestant. It's about how much money they win. Mark my words (no pun intended).

I hope that LB did not watch last nights show!!! That should have been her Wedding show, LB has been waiting longer than me and I know that she will be crying and upset if she watched that bride on stage with her gown on and the bridesmaids.Oh Deal or No Deal that lady might have deserved a spot on the show but LB made a tape of her wedding even sent you a song about becoming the Brady Bunch when she did get married she has 2 kids the man she married had 3 kids, she lost her job last wk and she is leaving in an appartment in LA with no car. I have never met LB just know her thu the My NBC PAGE her blogging and her Pictures of her and her family, Besides myself being such an obessed fan of the show LB loved and really really had faith the wedding show would be hers.I just hope and pray that LB gets her chance tooo she is funny witty bubbly phenomenal Personality she would have been the PERFECT Bride to be on DEAL OR NO DEAL!!!

NBC, if anybody is reading this blog, PLEASE return to the Koshka/Jessica style of editing, instead of the Tommy/Layna abomination.

If you want suspense, you can do that by not telegraphing the fact that a contestant is quitting the game due to there being eight cases on the board and ten minutes to go. You used to have carryovers...It would be quite a help to have them now.

It would have been a LOT better suspense generator than telling us that Jessica was going to win. :P

That was some of the best all-around "fun" TV I've seen for a while...Jokes, irony, everything.

But NBC....this game could have fit into FORTY MINUTES. Why did you take the whole hour?

Mad Max I have watched a little of the other versions but to be real honest I am a true American and I love our version the best!! To me everything is better made in America, Done in America.Even played in America. Good day, everyone. It's a normal day here in blogland, and no one wants to kill me yet, which is good. I had a DoND-related thought last night while watching videos on YouTube, so I thought I'd share it with you. Here goes...

Have any of you ever seen the UK version of DoND before? If noy, you are truly missing out. They do EVERYTHING right on that version, unlike ours. The UK verison of DoND premiered in 2005, and is hosted by Noel Edmonds, who has been hosting game shows in the UK for over 30 years. The format of the game is different as well. Instead of 26 silver briefcases, they have 22 red boxes, each of which is held by a future contestant. If this sounds familiar to you, it's because that's how they do it on the syndie version.

Anyway, the 22 amounts on the board range from 1p (a British penny) to £250,000 (roughly $500,000 US). So far, only one person has won the top prize, and she didn't need multiple chances at winning it in order to do so, like our Million Dollar Mission. There have also been 17 unfortunate souls - or idiots, as I like to call them - who have gone away with 1p. They're all part of a group known as The 1p Club, and they're all said to live on a barge together. Eventually, there will be enough 1p Club members to populate a small town or planet.

The star of the show is of course, the Banker. Now unlike our Banker, who I find to be extremely boring and unentertaining, the UK Banker is the complete opposite. The kinds of things that our Banker says in his blog are the kinds of things that the UK Banker has actually said to contestants or the host. Many contestants have spoken to him, and his voice has been heard many times as well. There was once an occasion where the UK Banker and a contestant got into a fight over the phone!

And of course, you can't forget about the contestants. Unlike the ones on the syndie version, UK version conetstants often wait several weeks before they play. But they actually remain on the show, opeining the boxes. Syndie version contestants are let go after a week.

Now, when a contestant plays on the US version, the come out, Howie does a quickie interview with them, and then they start playing. Since the UK version contestants are often on the show for several weeks, we get to learn more about them as time goes by. We learn where they're from, what they do, their hobbies, and their crazy quirks as well. Some of the UK contestants have been particularly memorable for being characters, or for being particularly funny or crazy. The US version might have its share of crazy contestants, but the UK version handles theirs better. The audience gets to know them during their stay on the show, while on the US version, there's a new player every night who we don't get to learn a lot about. This is what I believe is one of the UK version's most salient points.

Next week, I'm going to have a chance to interview one of them, with the hopes of publishing it in one of my school's newspapers. I'll be sure to let you know when it gets published, and I'll supply a link to the online version.

There was Casting and Producers saying

Where he can take a stand
And start shaking Linda Caroot's hand
Not knowing that sudden motion made Mr. Banker skip
Which made him stub his toe and made him trip

Make sure you have expert timing with the next Contestant, Mr. Banker is my advice.
Hands on the phone, and feet on the floor coordination can be as fast as lighting. You never know when you'll lose another Million!!! Can you afford it?

3. All the bloggers will get the call (well, maybe not from Mr. Producer St. John, but it's still great to hear from friends and family-Mr. Banker, I think by now ALL of us consider you to be a close relative.

Mad Mark and Andrew,

No one deserves to be called names or deserves to be berated. Your judgements on other people reflect your personality and believe me at this point, I would not want to meet either of you. If we have a reunion of the bloggers and I could afford to go, I wouldn't if either of you showed up. I think this blog has gone down the tubes and the banker probably feels the same way. No one has the right to judge someone or make rude remarks about someone. I had a boy friend once that couldn't say anything nice about anyone either and believe me he didn't last long in my life.

Don't judge people, when they say they think they have a million in their case, its wishful thinking, as the game goes on and the odds get worse, its their decision to go for it or quit. That does not make them morons or idiots.....

I say MadMark and Andrew grow up! This blog has been ruined since MadMark came on it.

I will continue to hope I get on the show, I will continue having hopes that they will call. I keep hoping that I can dance to the successes of my picking the small numbers, however if I decide to quit going home with $14,000 or $48,000 or $175,000 none of you have the right to call me names. And actually I wouldn't care because at least I did what I felt was right in my heart and I can feel good about how I feel I did the show.

So to all you bloggers that are a positive person in this world and can think good thoughts about others, I wish you luck on getting on the show and keep smiling and dancing to your music.

Dawn, Andrew is EXACTLY RIGHT (as usual). If contestants made stupid decisions during their games, or were generally stupid overall, then they deserve to be berated. We will only direct positive comments towards those who did smart things, played well, or made amazing deals. Unfortunately, there were only about 6 people that did so during DoND's 4-year run. Sad, isn't it?

As Andrew said, "If you act like a moron, you get treated like one." Truer words were never spoken. Don't like what we're talking about? Fine. That's your opinion. Our so-called "negativity" is actually the truth, but few people realize it because they fail to understand what we're talking about. It's less about negativity and more about the truth. Well. I am so sad because I missed the "Deal Or No Deal" show! Our Time
Warner Cable is still in negotiations with Channel 2, so they have HBO on that station at this time until they come to an agreement. I will have to watch it when they run it on CNBC. It sounds like, after reading this blog, I missed a great show. DAG NABBIT!!!!!!!!!!

Here's my list..

NUMBER TEN: Tony Kolton.

Now I see why Tony was choosing his cases to avoid "significant" numbers, but when he finally ran out, he got scared and left the game.

DO NOT take a decision of Deal lightly - you should ONLY say Deal when there is a compelling reason, because remember that in almost all situations, saying Deal loses more often.

NUMBER NINE: Wynetta Williams.

"While I believe it, it may not be so." Good quote, but remember that A: it must not be so, and B: you must run into the 1M case, out of four remaining in the gallery, to make saying No Deal at $115,000 a bad decision.

The supporters have absolutely no right to say that a decision is "wise" or not, because they have absolutely no idea what the contestant is feeling. More on this further down the list...

NUMBER EIGHT: Hugh Neisler.

What puts this deal in the top ten worst is that A: it's a $901,000 snafu, and B: it's so comparatively early.

On top of that, Hugh shouldn't be afraid of a possible drop of 95% when just as often there will be a drop of 900%.

NUMBER SEVEN: Tommy Nolton.

For reasons I've noted above, and because this was one of the ones that common people would get, as compared to other "blind shots".

NUMBER SIX: Johnnie Taylor.

I don't know what she was thinking when she said that she was completely confident of having $1,000,000 in her case, except that maybe for her temerity that NBC would come out and GIVE her a million. This ugliness led to three other people that were even worse. Keep reading.

NUMBER FIVE: Neal Washington.

On any other day, if Neal had kept quiet, he would join Tracee, Tammy, and Kimberly in the "tough luck, dude." section of the millionaire tycoons room, because unlike the next four, he actually had reasons to leave the game.

However, what makes these specific four people in this "worst five" section worse than anyone else was that they said they owned the million, not just at the beginning, not just while they had a net, but WHILE THERE WAS NO NET. I would cut Neal's "confidence" entirely from the tape just to save face for him, because either he was blind for 55 minutes and couldn't see that there was no net when he said he was 100% confident, or he's just plain dumb. I'm inclined to go with the latter.

NUMBER FOUR: Jay Garrity.

This and the next one on the list are about equal, with one being especially blatant and the other having blown it not once, but TWICE. However, I compared the two and decided that Jay was less of an idiot.

While on any other day, like Neal, he would have some reasons to leave the game here, Jay has 1) already seen $573,000 pass out, so he knows what it's like to turn down massive cash, and 2) knew that there wasn't a net after the $2M case got erased. Maybe he thought the $2,000,000 was still on the board, and thus still had a net, when he said "We're going for the million, baby!"....or maybe he's just dumb again.

NUMBER THREE: Katie Henslin.

Why this gets so high on the list, but no higher, is that while the reasons are more solid, this situation could have been avoided in either of two ways: A) Picking case 22, duh...Or B) realizing that, with 1M in 7 and believing that 1M is also in 8, that Peter was right about 22 having $200, accept her earlier mistake, and listen!

Why she's in the top three: Not only does the board look forbidding, but everything she's said and done up to this point contradicts with her decision to leave the game.

"If I leave with $449,000, I do not see how that would be losing."

[BUZZER]

($491,000, No Deal)? Is 491 greater than 449, or do you just not know math?

"But for her, I could not risk it."

A: If you explicitly state that $1M is in case 8, therefore you are saying that "For my daughter, I cannot give her an extra $551,000 for some unexplained reason."

B: Peter doesn't agree with you, even though as the father, he could. But he didn't.

Katie has absolutely no defense, and that's what puts her so high.

NUMBER TWO: Dave Atherton.

What? Why not number one? Do you need to ask?

Your wife believes that if you run into the million dollars, you'll have a significant drop. Not really, because $400,000 and $300,000 in eight cases means the mean is still more than $81,000. The offer won't be that high, but because the previous one could have been so much higher, it's not a very big drop. Losing two of the large numbers? You shouldn't need to worry about that. It happens.

Even if that does happen, don't you think that removing at least two small numbers is a much bigger chance? Even removing three small numbers isn't unlikely, and much more likely than dropping about $25,000 to $35,000 from your offer. The playout offer actually tripled.

Which is more to be feared: A small chance of losing $30,000, or a much bigger chance of losing $150,000?

One last thing, which gets him in the Hall of Shame forever..

"This is my last day as a poor man, because I'm going home with the million!"

[BUZZER] Not. Get out of here, Dave. $81,000 is not a million.

NUMBER ONE:

MARY BETH HOLTZHEIMER.

Marybeth is pretty much all nine of the above combined into one big heap of stupidity, and that's why she gets the number one spot in our Hall of Shame.

There is not a single reason that she had to leave the game that I cannot deflect, using either my words, the statistics, or MB's own words. But usually all three.

I'm sure $341,000 is a HUGE amount of money, and it works for any kind of wedding except maybe Larry King's. :)

But if any reasonable person looked at quotes from you, they would think you said No Deal because there is only more reason to do so at the very end than there was when you said them. Dave and Tony taught us that unexpected deals are rarely good ones.

Let's start with the three-case board. You did know that there was a chance that $500K or $1M could be knocked out and that the other one would be left alone. YOUR DAD TOLD YOU.

But you still said that you had a million in there, which shows you don't care about a net. Otherwise you would have set forward "conditions" about what you would do depending on the next case.

Then we have John, the fiance. "Nothing's changed since the last offer."

We'll get back to you on that.

By now, you know there is a 2/3 chance of breaking the net with the last case, and you just wave it off as something you shouldn't be worried about.

So when we finally reveal the $500,000 case, you're jumping up and down, which shows me that you don't care that the net is gone. Otherwise you'd just say "It's OK, we'll take it."

Then we see you sit down and say "I got the million."

NOBODY DOES THAT KNOWING THEY WILL DROP TO $25 IF THEY'RE WRONG, UNLESS THEY ARE INTENDING TO RUN IT DOWN. Or maybe that's because the $500,000 case was still not off the game board, but I doubt that. Tameka said it wasn't the $25. It couldn't be a million, either, or you wouldn't say it was in 13, because it CAN'T. I only see one other possibility!

With the net gone and Howie asks you if you feel it's in 13, you say it is, three times. He asks "Really?" which should set those gray cells of doubt into motion RIGHT AWAY, with a response of "We'll see."

The lack of that, plus the scowl when $341,000 is offered, shows that once again, you have no regard for the possibility that you might stop.

We now hear John saying to please take the deal. Excuse me, but the offer has DROPPED ($63,000), while the average has gone UP (about $4, but up.) Maybe you think in another dimension, I don't know.

I rewind to find out you have been together for seven years, and then listen to the conversation.

"I KNOW I HAVE THE MILLION!"

Look at that! Howie just said there was no longer a net, that the banker was playing you, and yet...you still do that!

If you had doubt, it would have already manifested itself when there was no net, OR when Howie asked you if it was there. So what is that?

"Please, you can't."

This is the most dangerous board ever, and after seven years, you cannot trust her when she believes she knows what she's doing? HOW DO YOU KNOW ANY BETTER? Unless there's a 101% function on the certainty scale, I see no way John can be.

Let's also back up to round 8: Nothing's changed since the last offer, so No Deal.

Now: "The last time I said "Nothing's changed", which is why I said to say No. Something has changed, but you actually have less risk. So if I said No last time, I should say No this time!"

THAT IS WHAT BELONGED THERE, JOHN.

Let's move back to MB as she decides..

You KNEW this would happen? AND WHAT DID YOU DO TO STOP IT? NOT ONE THING. You had about a hundred opportunities to stop this thing from happening!

Yes, he's being moronic, Mad Mark.

But that isn't the main reason.

Sure, his interview after the show has got "lies" written all over it (as does "Tommy's" response to it, which I don't believe for a second was written by the real Tommy), but the main reason why morons are morons on this show is because of gross ignorance.

Tommy knew from the very beginning that something of this sort would turn up in his path, and still insisted that he came here for a million. Then he quits when he's not even within range of 1M because he's "not stupid".

You ARE stupid if you can't deliver on a claim that you made because of "excessive danger" when you knew that the claim meant going through excessive danger. Either make it and fulfill it, or say nothing.

You knew that getting to that $1M involved "being stupid" and you wouldn't admit it until you actually got to the $448,000. It shouldn't take that long - just watching people FAIL like this every week is sufficient enough to know not to blind your eyes and wait for the punch to come, and to put all the blame on the board!

Unbeliveable!! Tommy sold his million dollar case for $444,000 and guess what case had the millon. Case 18 Marisa's. The same Marisa who destroyed Brooks Leach twice, the same Marisa who wrecked Cathy Burns' game with a million in her case last year. The same Marisa who nearly destroyed Michelle Falco with $6,000,000 in her case two seasons ago. Does the show ever not get cursed in the month of October? Mad Mark, I have a feeling October is going to destroy the show once and for all if more contestants sell their million dollar case in the so-called million or get greedy in the so-called million-dollar mission. What do you think?

SPECTACULAR FAIL!

By itself, that wasn't terrible, but it becomes a FAIL because both Tommy and his supporters were "robotically programmed" and wouldn't consider the respective consequences of going for 1M.

Tommy said he came here for $1M, then left the game at $448,000 because "I'm crazy, but I'm not stupid".

So why did you come here for $1M when you knew that getting $1M requires "being stupid"? You were lucky to get $448K out of those four cases.

Supporters: The same thing.

At $262K you told him that he "deserves" $1M, but of course he has to turn down $448K and $693K to get it, assuming that he wins by default. If not, it's going to be $448K, $693K, and then $461K or something like that (if a 1M is removed in round 9. You can move the 1M removal to round 7 or 8 and calculate the offers yourself.)

While he's still executing that command, you back up and tell him to leave the game, while you knew that at $262K that at least the $448K and at least one more offer, IF HE'S LUCKY, must be turned down to fulfill your PREVIOUS suggestion!

DO NOT suggest that your contestant go for the $1M, because you are PRACTICALLY GUARANTEED to swap attitudes and be a moron.

Many people will tell you when you find "signs" that it's not whether you found the signs, it's whether the signs found you.

After I made all the speculations about the numbers, the Death Magnetic scar on my ankle and the relation between "Broken, Beat & Scarred" and these numbers found me.

I believe that, if God DIDN'T want me to win and that these were "false signs", knowing that I was mistaking them for "real" signs and that everyone seems to think that He will give them $1M, these two signs would NOT have been dropped.

Being omnipotent, God knows what all of us are thinking, and I think that if He knew I was trying to catch a tartar, He wouldn't add bait to the fishing line.

Then again, I could be wrong - we don't know what God is thinking. But I will not go against what I believe is what He is thinking.

I know that if this fails, many people will say "Where's your God now, fool?!"

But I pose this conundrum: You can't tell whether you're going to sell $1M and God will say: "I gave you the $1M, why didn't you reach out and get it?" or whether God intends for you to not be greedy, but you go on, blow the entire works, and ask God: "Why didn't you give me $1M?" only to be answered "I gave you $487,000 and you weren't grateful."

One way or another, if you either sell the $1M that He appointed for you or blow the $487K that He wanted you to take, people are going to say that. But I will NOT abandon the side of the equation that I believe God is on.

If it turns out He isn't in agreement with me, then that's OK. I accept God's will, whatever it shall be. But if I am not in agreement with Him, then we have a problem.

I had another life-affirming experience with my numbers today..

This morning, after TPiR, I listened to "Death Magnetic" again (the album that coincided with Ike's landfall and started this whole business), and I discovered something I had never bothered to associate before:

Eric: I felt the same way as you did last October. I seriously considered turning off DoND for life. And for the record, I'm from Montreal, which is in Quebec. Have any of you ever been here before? It's a great city. Plus, we have out own version of DoND, called Le Banquier. It's played for $500,000, and features 26 cases and a set similar to ours. The major differences? A female host, it's all in French, and models 21 - 26 are all men.

Marsha: I can talk down to whoever or about whatever I want to. I am Mad Mark. Hear me roar. 'Nuff said.

Jan: Glad to hear you're recovering. After all, you do need that arm to slam down the Deal button cover when Mr. Banker gives you a crappy offer ;) .
And I agree, loyal fans like us would make ideal contestants because we know everything about the game.

Meanwhile, over in the UK, their October is off to its worst start in history. Their DoND has paid out a total of 5p (about 9 cents US or almost 1 cent Canadian) over the past 2 days, which is bloody pathetic. Let's hope this trend doesn't make its way overseas.

MadMark, as for my injury, it was the basal joint of my thumb. I cleaned for other people 3 weekends in a row (to make extra money so I can buy groceries and put gas on my car). I got tendonitis in the thumb, wrist area. Its better now, I have to clean again this weekend so better be ok. I need the money to make a car payment.

Enough of my woes!

I was hoping the banker would be back on this morning, I think he is getting lazy! I guess thats what happens when you live in a box. I still have to ask, banker are you the same one? Your profile looks different.

Banker, why haven't you called me yet? October is here and time is flying by. I guess I would have to think that you just haven't found something in my life that I wouldn't kiss if I came on the show. Or maybe I haven't talked enough about what material possession I would cry if you broke, well for getting on the show I would bring my favorite things and you could break them, it wouldn't matter as long as I could pay my bills and get out of so much financial stress. Maybe then I could visit some of these bloggers when they have a get together (better yet I could plan a party for all of them).

I still wait patiently for the call, like lots of us here. With Christmas coming I would really like to surprise my kids with a very special Christmas, being able to afford maybe all of us celebrating in style! BANKER....tell those producers to read the blogs and pick people that are loyal and really need the money.

I think we need to return to the other issue at hand: after seeing MB fail to qualify for MENSA *OR* DENSA, carving her own niche of stupidity out, Chelsea suffered from the same lack of logic.

She simply uses the same excuses that everyone else uses to try to explain her actions.

"Oh, you don't know what it's like on this stage!"

No matter where you are, you should be at least able to do math!

You cannot call $500K vs. $100K + $75K a no-lose situation and then call $100,000 not enough to change your life. Especially when, in just one pick, you could be left with that $100,000 AT BEST.

Anybody who can deduce that 1 + 1 = 2 knows that $75,000 is also a loss if $100,000 is. Or maybe you think 1 + 1 = 3, I don't know.

You tell me that you're going to stand by your decision to take that deal, and that we don't know anything about you. A good way not to contradict your belief is not to put out a belief for you to contradict.

You claim to be someone who stands behind her decisions... BUT YOU DIDN'T STAND BEHIND YOUR BELIEF THAT $75,000 ISN'T A LOSS! Quit being a fake poser, Chelsea, and own up to what happened on that stage!

Has anyone else noticed the difference in the profile of the banker? It just does not look like the same person. Either he got a nose job and a different hair cut of its not him! Maybe I'm imagining it, but he doesn't look the same to me.

I'm really slipping financially, I'm sure a lot of us are with the economy, but we have been spoiled for so long, maybe we need to go back to simpler times, a time when we used to go play cards with our neighbors, play guitar on the porch and listen to our kids, family and neighbors. I Have always felt turmoiled about the way our goverment runs our country.
I LOVE MY COUNTRY!!!!!! but I have lost faith with the people that run it.... I always thought it was (We the People)It seems that only counts if your a millionaire.
I.. for one am one of these poor souls that am loosing her home due to NO JOB!!

Dawn Mays: Again, I think it would be a complete crime against humanity if we middle-class taxpayers had to fully bear the colossal burden of bailing out Wall Street, WHILE MANY AMERICAN BILLIONAIRES AND MILLIONAIRES ARE QUITE COMFORTABLY RELAXED IN THEIR OPULENT MANSIONS AND LOWER-MANHATTAN PENTHOUSES, WHEN THEY ARE THE ONES THAT GOT WEALTHY FROM WALL STREET INVESTMENTS, MANY OF THESE WEALTHY FOLKS ARE WALL STREET GIANTS THEMSELVES. If I was a millionaire or billionaire myself, I could not live with myself knowing that there's a financial crisis sweeping our country and I decide to not do a single thing about it, when I'm sitting on top of a large fortune. Doesn't anyone in the House of Representatives or in Congress realize how terribly unethical and unjust this is?????? We've already poured $600 billion into Iraq, and now we have to pour an additional $700 billion into bailing out large financial institutions??? I don't think so!! If I was the President, this is what I would do--make a proposal to Congress and the House of Representatives to tax the wealthiest 1% of Americans to bailout Wall Street. I SAY TAX THESE WEALTHY PEOPLE, THEY WILL SLIGHTLY FEEL IT IN THEIR OWN POCKETBOOKS AND I PROMISE YOU THAT IT WILL NOT HURT THEM ONE SINGLE BIT. Why don't these wealthy people do something about this?? Are they THAT greedy and selfish that they won't put a single red penny of their money into bailing out Wall Street??? That's just wrong!! What do my fellow Americans think about my ideas? Do you think I'm totally crazy or do you think that it's a feasible, conceivable idea?

So NBC, if you're reading this, RIGHT NOW is the time to have all of us(LB, Dawn Mays, Linda Caroots, dollydeb, Eric, MarshaX3, JudybnJudy, Mitchell Tickle, Andrew B., Jan Paquette, etc.) make our appearances on DOND during this 4th Season. Andrew B., bailing out Wall Street is NOT simply a matter of philanthropy, it's about resolving America's economic crisis in the most timely manner possible. I think it's completely unethical and unjust for the middle-class taxpayer to BEAR AND SUFFER the full burden of this $700 bailout, WHILE BILLIONAIRES AND MILLIONAIRES ARE CALMLY RELAXED IN THEIR LAVISH MANSIONS AND THEIR LOWER MANHATTAN PENTHOUSES. As if it wasn't enough, we have already poured $600 billion into Iraq, and on top of that comes this Wall Street bailout????!!! Give me a break, a TAX break!! Uncle Sam, give us ALL a tax break!

There's one thing I've been itching to say for a VERY long time...

FLAME ON

You called Jessica's $1M win "beginner's luck"? You're a sore, whiny loser, banker. Before Jessica's game, counting regular, WtA, and MDM games, there were 374 $1M cases that were not won. When I take off the 25 games that included an increased prize and the 2 games after Jessica that have been played so far, there were 217 games before her where all of 374 cases containing 1M were not won.

Theoretically, a 1M should be won every 26M that are offered. So there should have theoretically been FOURTEEN 1M winners before Jessica, with a fifteenth 38.46% on the way here.

The chances are almost 21,400 to 1 that a 1M winner is still lacking after those 217 games, not to mention the games with 1.5M, 2M, 3M, etcetera.

It's YOU that had some pretty serious luck in not having to write a 1M (or more) check for 242 games, not Jessica who was only doing something that just fulfilled some very long odds. Stop biting Lady Luck's hand - she was gracious to delay it for this long.

I don't know about all of you, but I'm getting EXTREMELY concerned about our economy...the $700 billion bailout plan was rejected by 23 votes and the Dow Jones plummeted nearly 800 points, which is the largest drop ever in American economic history. Mike Huckabee, a former Republican Presidential candidate, made an excellent analogy about this situation...he said that Wall Street is "Las Vegas East" and that the only difference between them is that a blackjack gambler doesn't have anyone to bail him/her out if he loses a substantial sum of money. Something needs to be done by our Senators and Congresspeople IMMEDIATELY to save our economy from this disaster.

According to a recent CNBC TV show called "Untold Wealth", there are now 1,000 BILLIONAIRES here in the USA, and they have a combined net worth of 27 TRILLION DOLLARS. Yes, that's "trillion" with a "T". Many of these people became incredibly wealthy through Wall Street investments. According to my calculations, $700 billion is only 2.59% of 27 TRILLION. So if I was the President, my proposal would be to ask all of these multi-billionaires for financial aid in bailing out Wall Street. I personally think that it would be a complete crime against humanity for us middle-class taxpayers to bear the entire massive burden of bailing out Wall Street with $700 billion of our tax dollars.

I've spoken to Chelsea and she is still unwilling to admit that she is completely winded with her logic. This is what she said:

"Whats wrong with you greedy people! Before I went on this show it was easy to make logical decisions when your watching it at home, but when your 2 days from going into labor and emotions are high you do what you have to do! Hind sight is always 20/20 and sure it would have been great to go for it but I couldn’t do it. Keep in mind taxes takes half and 50 grand isn’t going to change your life. I’m proud of myself! Just thought i would offer some insight to those of you have never had to face a decision like this before, it’s hard! Don’t judge!"

Rant on.

- Hindsight isn't part of this. All we're proving is that there is more collective reason to say No Deal than Deal.

- If $100,000 after taxes won't change your life, why didn't you admit that in round 6, when there was a six-figure offer and plowing into the $500K would result in, at best, that very $100K? Maybe $75K even.

- Why did you say "I can't lose" before refusing the 176K when $75,000 is the least you can win, and then turn around and leave the game because $100,000 isn't enough money? If $100,000 isn't enough, $75,000 obviously isn't either! Or maybe you just can't subtract, I don't know.

- If you can't make logical decisions, you can't win.

- If you're going to wave off $225,000 in the can, you can wave off $175,000 in the can as well. Only easier. Then again, I still don't know how you do math..

- If you call $75,000 not losing (yes, you did do that. Admit it!), you CANNOT call $100,000 losing.

Rant off.

Boy, am I ever miffed! Hubby just started a small business this year; I have small business, my oldest son started one in VA, Linda Laster-Bivens wanted to start a small business, and ALL the bloggers would love to give you the BUSINESS.
So, my question to you, Mr. Banker-what gives?

The book signing went well. By the end of the show, our table was empty-it had to be, the cleaning crew needed to put the tables back in the school cafeteria. Seriously, it was a nice show, TONS and TONS of people came through the door, and lots and lots had seen the story in the paper.
and.....today I got my first royalty check Woo Hoo! (now, it's not too big-I'd love to tell you how little authors/illustrators actually get, but I am thrilled to be able to begin my help with Beautiful Gate!

Dawn, don't lose the faith. I haven't, and I don't think that anyone else here has either. You do realize, however, that you can re-apply as many times as you like, so I've read. Next time there's an open contestant call somewhere near you, I think you should strongly consider going. It may help you chances of getting on the show even more. Forget Harvey Dent... I believe in Dawn Mays, and all the rest of you contestant hopefuls. I'd be more than happy to be one of your supporters if any of you get selected to be on the show.
