One secret why the show is popular: People see how pathetic the players are, and feel better about their own mediocre selves. HAving Hot (even if fake breasted for the most part) models, some of which even have good looking faces (but dumb as oxen) helps too.

That effeminate stay at home dad Kurtz was as totally DUMB as they come.

Comem to think of it, most contestants are. They are all DIRT POOR, they need the $, the banker makes VERY GENEROUS OFFERS to them at times, such as near-$200k offers rejected by SEVERAL players, and then they end up in the BEST case with HALF that amount, like that retar4ded crybaby cowboy LOSER, or, MUCH WORSE, with Insulting amounts like $5.

His wife loves him tho.. Good help is hard to find!

The show is fun to watch for the reaction of the players, BUT Howie REALLY fills too much time with BS because he and his producers are too stingy to spend more time ACTUALLY PLAYING THE GOD DAMNED GAME.

They could at LEAST have something INTELLIGENT AND ENTERTAINING On, instead of the MORONIC PABLUM they currently PAD the show with!

The PLAYERS are SElected VERY CAREFULLY. Not only must they be DESTITUTE and really needing the cash, they must be TOTALLY DUMB, SUperstitious, UNeducated (mostly) and Irrational.

I never would have believed Howie was in the carpet business until I hear him say, “DEAL or NO DEAL. Then I know he was definitely in the carpet business.

They should put in a MULTIPLIER if the contestant successfully cleared the entire left hand side of the board. Put up 16 squares on the video screen with a picture of the banker on them. Behind each square would be a number from 2-10. The number behind the chosen square would multiply the values of the right hand column by that amount.

Just one more “trick to spice up the game—if the multiplier comes up to be “10, all the prizes on the right hand side of the board go up by 10! If the 1 million dollar prize is still up there, then the top prize becomes $10 million!

I really like the show, I dont get to watch it that often, but I love to see how much people get. I only wish I could go on the show and win some money. Im not lazy, but I am a single stay at home mom of 2 and my oldest has a heart condition so I cant work. ANYTHING would really help. The "banker" is not a real person. The guy up in the booth isn't an animatronic, but I doubt he's anything more than an actor. If you look closely and realy observe this show, you'll notice that besides what Howie does and what the models do, everything on this show is automated. The board on the right automatically updates itself, etc. Notice how Howie says that he doesn't know what's in the cases, the producers don't know and the models don't know. What does know what's in the cases is a computer program. Like the board on the right, this program knows which cases have been opened, what they contain, and is constantly updating and caluclating new offers using a pre-determined mathematical formula. When Howie picks up the phone, the computer merely gives him the amount of the deal - he comes up with all of the other stuff the "banker" says on his own. This explains why sometimes the "converstaions" are extremely short. The guy up top doesn't do anything but move around and act like the bad guy. It's a bit of acting on both Howie and his part.

The Banker needs to loosen up and start offering more or less depending if there's 0.1 and 1,000,000 left there could still be 0.01 so he should offer a little less

This show is all about the math. The offers are not made by a "banker" or Howie. They are numbers derived from a statistical program that quickly calculates what to offer based on what is left on the board and also the order in which numbers were taken off the board. If a person keeps a cool head, they can leave with at least $100,000 by using some mathematic logic and common sense. It is almost impossible to win a million because a person would have to turn down $400,000 to $500,000 and unless they were already a millionaire, they would be the biggest fool on earth to turn that much money down for a 50/50 chance at a million.

Last night's show was great...shows you what happens when you're greedy AND stupid- not a good way to go through life! Maybe the contestents should start investing in some parenting skills- all the kids were atrocious, money loving brats. Imagine what they'll be like when they're adults

I disagree i liked the kids, they seemed to be the only ones in the family with any brains. I agree that "the banker" is really just a character, hwever it is a producer doing calculations or what not to make the offer. This show is absolutley amazing. Poor Brett, he could have been $76,000 richer but instead he left with not even enough money to take his family to McDonalds on the way home. I agree with a previous post, his daughter was a brat, and she was really starting to get on my nerves. She was too loud and obnoxious for my liking.

Looks like Brett's lucky two-fingered "power move", proved to be unlucky. He went down like the Titanic, but now he's $8 richer. His brat-of-a-daughter should have her microphone cut because she proved to be an i-told-you-so kind of person as her father didn't take the 76,000, and ended up taking $8 instead.

I've been watching the show and noticed that the cases with numbers in the 20s are the most dangerous.

This show is becoming too depressing. The lowest amount should be no less than $1,000 for a contestant's trouble in providing the entertainment that brings the millions in advertising profits to the network. I like the show, but now see it as preying on the heartache of those less fortunate to make the rich richer. Maybe a lone someone will win during the whole season...the odds of it happening though are slim and the network knows it!

What does it matter whether the banker is real or not? I think everyone that gets on this show does the best they can. This is a game of chance....theres no theory as to which cases will have the big amounts or this would be a pretty boring show. Just because they don't back out when you think they should have does not make them idiots. If I have a shot at 200,000 or 38,000 darn straight I'm going to try to get the 200,000 especially if my odds are one in four of picking a low numbered case. That's would be the reason they're called games of chance. You do the same by playing the lottery except your odds are 1 in millions plus if you don't win you just lost whatever you spent to play. These people are losing absolutley no more than they came with.

He is a real person with a calculator, figuring the odds of the contestant actually winning big. I think Howie does a great job hosting the show, but that is all he does. Second, judging by your posts, none of you could do as good as the people on the show. You don't know how to spell or use punctuation, so you probably can't figure odds either. Have any of you played the online game? I have, and in one night, “won $750,000 twice, and $1,000,000 once. I’ve also wound up with only $1.00. I would look at it as -- I came here with nothing, so anything I win is better than that. It’s not easy. But you don't have to know trivia to win. That’s why it’s a successful show!"
