I am a dedicated Ejami fan and as such have to tell you that I can't sit by and watch you desecrate the characters of Ej and Sami and make them something they are not. Please fix this mess. Ej would never screw Nicole and would never ever try to take Johnny from Sami. EJ is a better man than that and loves Sami. He would never hurt her like this. Let Ejami have their summer of romance TOGETHER (not apart and not with other people). Please restore EJami to there former glory and make them Day's new gray (not too good and not too evil) supercouple. They are up there in the ranks with Luke and Laura and even Sonny and Carly. I won't accept anything less or any substitutes and if things don't change soon, I will be tuning out DOOL permanently and encouraging others to do the same.

As a longtime viewer of Days of Our Lives I am begging you or whoever is responsible for the current storylines to please stop writing plot driven storylines. It is insulting to long time viewers such as myself. Many characters are literally disappearing. The audience does not just forget what characters say or do or how they would act in
any given situation. It also makes the show boring and predictable. This is why your ratings are terrible. The characters are all over the place from episode to episode and it is obvious that it is just to fit the plot. Write character driven stories, give the characters depth and most importantly write the characters in ‘character’. This summer has been disappointing to say the least.

Summer of romance I think not! Summer of porn or summer of sleeze would be the more appropriate title. People don't want to see just sex they want to see romance. Romance does not equal sex with random partners. If you think that is what people want to see you must think very little of your audience.

you have managed to turn EJ into Lucas in a matter of a month. Thank you for ruining everything that is wonderful about this character. I don't know who this EJ is anymore. The EJ of old would never be so easily manipulated by others, he would not waiver in his devotion to Sami and he would not threaten for custody of his son. EJ having sex with nicole makes him just like all the other men in Sami's life. I'm sorry but I can't watch the destruction of my favourite character anymore.

When stefano gets back can he kill all these 'imposter' characters. They suck!

As an EJAMI fan, I'm feeling really down right now. Where are they? Why is EJ moving on? It makes no sense. You have this huge fanbase who has waited 2 years through more crap than imaginable and just when we got a headwriter who we thought would end our misery, our misery has only been added to. EJAMI is what makes this show for me. All of the other storylines are boring. I'm just feeling horrible about the whole show. I wish I could watch it everyday like I used to but I'm not into torturing myself.

I can understand holding out on a story for drama, but holding out this many years is just ridiculous! EJAMI should have happened by now. Sami and EJ never even really happened and they break up already? Whatever! Plus, If EJ got a real romance, maybe I could get over it all, but I will not watch my favorite character fall for the town whore! I have watched Days since I was a child in the 80's and have always loved it. I have never written on any boards, but I just can't take any more! Just when I stopped fast forwarding every other scene you put Nicole with EJ. Like a message earlier on, we have waited years to see these two together and we get one love scene (interrupted by Lucas) and then they break it off! Get real, I to am done until they bring these two together.

Dena - I appreciate the fact that you have noticed how dedicated we Ejami fans are!! But with that being said, one can only take so much negative direction. While I try to see a positive side to your direction - I am not hearing anything to keep me connected. I have been a dedicated Days fan for 28 years and to me Ejami has more chemistry than any other couple has had. Please don't take that away. Dena thank you for finally ending the Lumi/Ej triangle. I think it's been done with consideration to both sides. You gave Ej and Sami one moment together for their fans to remember and cherish while leaving Sami knowing her heart will always belong with Lucas. And as an added bonus, you've found the perfect match for EJ in Nicole. I haven't been watching for a couple of months now, but after reading the spoilers and seeing the episodes that have ended this never-ending triangle I can now say I will be watching again. OK Dena, I have to admit I was a bit skeptical when I heard about these elevator scenes. But you won me over. The Lucas and Chloe was alright, but I don't think I'd ever root for them because I will always be a Broe fan at heart. (And Ejami's we waited 2 years to the day from when they met for them to even kiss so I don't know what y'all are complaining about! Stop acting like you're the only ones who ever had to wait for something.) Still, I like that Lucas has stopped taking crap from Sami. But the EJ and Nicole scenes? Whoooo, I was surprised the fire alarms at the studio didn't go off when filming those because they were SMOKING HOT! I've never been a big EJ fan, but with Nicole he's totally different. Fun, flirty and vulnerable. This pairing is just oozing with potential. I can't wait to see what comes next!

Tune out the Blackout!

EJ and Sami are why I watch days. During thier scenes I am mesmerised. Mondays show was amazing. I loved everything about it; the passion, tension, almost kiss. It left me wanting more. I know EJ and Sami will temporarily be apart but when they finally get together they will be a force to be rekoned with and accept eachother faults and all. When Sami finally says I love you to EJ, now that will be romantic and must T.V.

Let's face it, Ejami does nothing for the ratings either. The day they had sex was the lowest rated day of their week because no one wanted to watch it. I bet when Ejole has a real shot and they stop this stupid triangle they will start going up.

You know what I find funny Dena? The summer promo on the main Days website shows these clips of Lucas and Chloe, but the couple that everyone is talking and raving about is EJ and Nicole. Did you guys think that was going to happen or is that just an unexpected, yet pleasant turn of events? What was it a certain fanbase used to say? Love them or hate them, Ejole is the buzz all over the soap sites these days.

Nice try, but Days was pre-empted in many markets the Day EJami made love and still got a 2.0. When Days is semi-pre-empted lately, they get 1.6s.
Now that EJ and Sami are barely on screen together, ratings are in the toilet again which is no surprise since EJami are who the majority of viewers want to see.

Dena, I'm an EJAMI fan and want to say that it was great to see 12/29 resolved and Ejami love making and having Sami admitt her feelings for EJ even after she found out about his schemes (this means she's able to love him as he is). I'm looking forward to seeing how Sami will handle losing EJ. Based on dialogue from the Wed Show Sami is in love with EJ but will not admit it because Sami is trying to convince everyone that she has changed by being with Lucas.
I just hope that soon the day comes when Sami will realize that she can love EJ and to hell with what her family thinks. Then we get a romance and the antibrady back.

as an ejami fan, i gotta say the detours are not my favorite part of the story. with 12/29 discussed..we never did get any discussion of ej and sami about the romantic love making day..he tried, she refused..and this is what is so heartbreaking about this story..she admits she loves him..i do not consider the word 'feelings' to be what she means..i hope we can get the story of ejami before the end of days as a program..dragging it on another year is suicidal for the couple and the show.

Please let Ejami be together. I could watch those two just stare at eachother all day.

Neither Sami or EJ seem like the characters that I fell in love with two years ago. Your acknowledgement that EJAMI fans are very devoted and dedicated to our couple is very much appreciated. The only thing we need and waiting on now is for the writers and TPTB to show a similar dedication and commitment to the Best Couple to hit the airwaves for DOOL in Decades! It's EJAMI all the way!

Loved the EJami lovemaking scenes, truly I did. I thought the leadup to them and the scenes themselves were beautifully acted, directed, really well done. At that point, I was interested in other storylines, there was a balance to the show where no one couple dominated, and there was a little something for everybody.

After that, well, it's been a really really bumpy ride, with poor followup and little left for us to hang onto while we wait for them to come together. I was fully prepared for angst, but I need some help here. I need to see the conflict for them, the pull to be together and I really need to see EJ and Sami in character, making choices that make sense for them, instead of plot driven decisions that contradict their prior history. I can handle anything but when you ignore those basic ingredients for truly good soapy angst, it leads to nothing but confusion and anger.

I do have to say this though - you have proven something to me - I always thought that I could handle seeing EJ with someone else if it happened....you've proven me wrong. I've confirmed that EJ and Sami are the ONLY couple for me - when they're with others, it just pales in comparison to the fire and passion in their scenes. Theirs has always been a complex, emotional story that wouldn't be easy to tell, but when it's done right, it could rise above and beyond your typical soapy romance.

I am trying to wait this out, I really am, but my patience is wearing thin.

And it's not just EJami, though they are undoubtedly my main reason for watching. There isn't another storyline that truly captivates my interest enough to keep me tuning in even when it's not going well for EJami - I'm experiencing some serious boredom in trying to keep up with the show, and that's horrible considering this tenuous time for DAYS and soaps in general. I can deal with angst, I can deal with just about anything but boredom.

Here's hoping you can right this situation soon.

Hooking up people in elevators does for rebound sex is not romance and it certainly does not equal romance let a lone a "beautiful connection." Glad we have spoilers so I know that I can continue to tune out days. As an Ejami fan I am so disappointed with the direction of this story right now, I don't really have words. It is very awesome you take the time to blog, I can imagine how busy your schedule is. Unfortunately I'll have to say my position on Days has not changed since my last comment to your last blog. I'm still very confused by the mismatched pairings and lack of character continuity. You are probably annoyed about many of us posting criticizing the direction of days lately, but since I consider myself a very devoted fan and have stopped watching the show the past month (However I did catch the Mon. 6/30 episode to see Sami reveal her true feelings about EJ), I feel it necessary to post. I like that you gave the EJAMI's a shoutout, but can we please have more of them together though? Dena...in all my years of watching soaps, I've never been as captivated by a soap couple as I have been with EJami :) Every performance has me on the edge of my seat, James & Ali are magic together so it boggles my mind as to why they are not being written as the romance they are?? They are the next supercouple of Days so they should be written as such, you have a gold mine of stories right infront of you, angst, passion, loyalty, adventure etc. Hopefully with the return of Stefano, the EJami story can get back on track because that's what I tune in for. Thanks so much for the shout out to EJami fans, Dena! It is much appreciated - especially now as it appears things are going to be rocky for our couple. But we hold on to the hope that you and the other PTB at Days recognize what an awesome pairing they are and that ultimately the story you tell now will lead us to EJami in the end. Ali and James have a truly rare chemistry - they are both beautiful to look at and gifted actors apart - but together they are like lightening in a bottle. I truly appreciate your work on this storyline - most importantly the wrap up of 12/29 and the sweet Ejami love. Those were two scenes that the previous writer didn't have the guts to do. You tackled those things head on and they were ratings gold. I appreciate the shout outs you have sent to us Ejami fans and they haven't fallen on deaf ears. I will sit back and patiently wait. Ejami is not for the faint of heart and I know that when given their chance to shine they will knock one out of the park. I am hopeful that the sparks will start flying once again upon the return of Stefano.

I can't imagine what the other soap writers think of your writing of the Ejami s/l. I'm sure they are laughing their A$$es off about you not taking the ball and running with it. Hey Dena! Well, you have been quite busy haven't you with all the Emmy excitement! Sounds like fun stuff though! I was just coming over Dena to say how much I am enjoying and LOVING Luloe (Lucas & Chloe), they are wonderful together and have so much chemistry! They are so cute and adorable and Bryan & Nadia are doing a wonderful job together, they are so good for one another! And their story actually is believeable and makes sense! And I'm LOVING Luloe! ((Lucas & Chloe) Can't wait for more Luloe! They are so exciting and real together! And they bring out the absolute best and tender sides in each other! I'm glad that Lucas is moving on and has found something so real, special, and unexpected with Chloe! And I like how Chloe is very caring and nuturing towards Lucas and how you can already see that all she wants is the best for him, to protect him, and to make Lucas happy! Lucas & Chloe are real and easy to relate to and understand! Chloe Lane Black Roberts/Horton would be the perfect wife and love for Lucas! You can see it already in their eyes, they are already in love with each other and so sweet together! I think Chloe can truly make Lucas happy and love him, and vice versa for Lucas towards Chloe! They rock! And I enjoy watching them very much and I see already that their relationship could be turning into something very true and real! Hey Dena! Just wanted to say, can we please get more Philip & Nicole! I love me some Phicole together! They are so fun and fiesty to watch together and would make a awesome and fabulous couple and would make better and more enjoyable sense together! They got some major heat going on from what I saw in their scenes together and with all their funny and cute fiestyness! I could see him giving her a job at Titan or something and them working together and having fun together and him protecting and helping her with her Trent situation and falling for each other (until Eric Brady comes back that is! Because Eric is Nicole's true and real love!)
Phicole is hott together! Not to mention that they are so funny together with all their heated and passionate back and forths! I like how she was distraught and needed help and Philip said to her very soft and sweet "Tell me what you need" and she said "I need protection." I love Philip & Nicole! Can we please see more of them! I would love to see Philip, with his Kiriakis cockyness and attitude trying to help and protect Nicole, and him and Trent (who is so cool, bad ass, and mysterious by the way! I love him!) going at it and I would love to see Nicole going up against Morgan about Philip (since Chloe is with Lucas now, I agree with the above poster! I like Luloe together too! Lucas & Chloe are really great and cute together!) and Philip helping Nicole and him finally being involved in a triangle, after all these years, that doesn't involve Shawn & Belle. I would like to see more Philip & Nicole please! They are exciting and hott together, so much chemistry there! And good, hott, as well as, funny stories can be told with them! They would be a great couple together and very interesting, intriguing, and fun to watch! Yea, Phicole! We Phicole fans want more Phicole! More Philip & Nicole, please! Sorry, I really hope the story they made you scrap the redux version of john/marlena/roman/kristen/tony that you are trying to do in EJ/Sami/Lucas/Nicole/Trent. I don't want to wait five years for EJami to get together. We have waited two years and we need some payoff. A three minute love scene which was rudely interrupted, if I do say so myself, is not a payoff. A payoff would be Sami saying that she loves EJ and wants to try to make it work.

If the best you can do for EJami is to rip off another Days story from the 90s then I don't know what to tell you because reading the fan fics going around the net, people have no shortage of inspiriation for them in EJami.

My point is you can do better and in a way that pleases the fans and get them to tune in. Because it's not easy to watch right now. It's stomach turning in that it makes me want to wretch not like I am on the edge of my seat upset I have to wait 23 hours to see more. That's how EJami was for me in Summer 2006. I just wanted MORE MORE MORE it was so amazing watching their romance unfold. So much chemistry, fire, passion and potential.

EJami still has all that. It's the writing that is not supporting them. First of all, they need to be in scenes together not always with other people! That would be a good way to start.

Good Luck to Days. I saw the ratings and that sucks. But maybe the fans are telling you all something??? Just a thought.

I gotta say I am dissappointed in the turn of events in their s/l but am willing to stay loyal to my couple for a bit longer. Congrats on being part of a team that won an Emmy. I know you were part of it and you should be proud. As far as Days? I am sad. Not only as an EJAMI fan but as a Days fan as well. There are other couples I adore although none with the passion and absoluteness of EJAMI but Steve and Kayla (although he will always be Patch to me), Bo and Hope and now because of you the impossible has happened...I am now a John and Marlena fan! But as a whole I am saddened by the show now. I get the struggles, the characters motivations make perfect sense but I am just not interested is seeing what is airing right now. I know you can turn this around, I know you can make this work and write so very soapy stuff that has great payoffs, I know you have what it takes! So please Dena, put on the breaks, think about the pathes that are being taken and adjust and move on. A couple of quick easy fixes would be: (1) stop the flash backs of things that happened ten minutes ago on the show. (2) end the incest (3)allow a payoff to last longer than one episode. (4) introduce a villain. (5) STOP the REPEATED, REPEATED, REPEATED, REPEATED, REPEATED dialog that is infesting the show.(or at least by your script writers a Thesaurus!) and of course number (6)...give us EJAMI! Even with Ali pregnant I know you can make something work and lay the ground work for an EJAMI union and the next generation of supercouples! Although I am saddened by the state of the show and the loss of momentum that was building in May, I know you can turn this thing around. Good luck and I look forward to not pushing my FF button through the majority of the show as I have in June and July.

EJ and Sami are the future of DOOL. They are a supercouple in the making. No couple on T.V has captivated me like they have. I won't settle for anything else because that would be a waste. They have that IT factor you cannot manufacture, the chemistry is always in thier scenes even if the writing isn't spectacular. They are not a typical daytime couple. They are unique and thier story is complex, deep and romantic and that is worth fighting for.

Since May, 2006 EJami has been the only shining couple for me.

There are some pretty crazy comments here but there is definitely a common theme - fans want a wonderful romantic love story for EJami. :) Thank you for the acknowledgment of the support and dedication of EJami fans. Despite what some people have said, the fact that you acknowledge our existence is 1000000x more than anything Hogan Sheffer did while writing for the show. He tried to pretend that EJami fans were the tiny little fanbase that the once "great" Lumi fanbase kept saying we were. Obviously, he was wrong but you do acknowledge us and that makes me personally feel great so thank you so much!


As for the storyline, I was upset at first by your decision to write the "sexevator" stuff but I'm looking past it now especially since you showed such contrast between Lucas/Chloe and EJ/Nicole. Lucas easily moved on and didn't look back. EJ, not so much. Having EJ call out Sami's name while kissing Nicole was a definite hint to me of things to come. Unlike some of my fellow EJami fans, I don't think what has transpired kills EJami at all. I didn't like it and I wish you had chosen a different way of shaking things up but at least now, Sami will be forced to fight for EJ whose heart will never belong to anyone but her (that is my sincere hope for how this will be written).


I just hope that we don't have to endure much EJ/Nicole "romantic" interaction because frankly, James and Ari have ZERO chemistry together. They are both gorgeous and FANTASTIC actors but as a couple, there is something missing. Perhaps it is just because they can't hold a candle to the James/Ali chemistry but the bottom line is that it seems very forced kinda like Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie in The Good Shepherd - Matt and Angelina are both gorgeous and wonderful actors but together, they fell flat. The chemistry just wasn't there and the same thing is true with James and Ari.


What I would LOVE to see is Eric Brady return to Salem for Nicole. He was always her true love and she lost him because of a stupid decision - bring back Sami's brother and really shake up this crazy storyline! :)


On another note - are you really writing in a Kate/Daniel "fling"? Please say it isn't so! I don't mind an old flame coming back and mixing up the Dansea storyline but her current b/f sleeping with her grandmother after her previous boyfriend slept with her mother? That's just sick. Please don't do it. Anything but that!

Dena, thanks for the amazing scenes this week with EJ and Nicole. It's nice to see 2 under-utilized characters finally come into their own rather than playing second fiddle. There is an amazing chemistry between them that I haven't seen in a long time on Days. I really hope you guys take the time to explore this relationship and try something different on the show. They could be a modern day Bonnie and Clyde - terrorizing Salem while deeply in love with each other. Just what this show needs for a pick me up.

They are grey and daring but at the same time have an immense capacity to love one another. They are two of a kind and so alike. I am an Ejami fan and read a spoiler that after the elevator scene he starts chasing after Nic-ho. I am so sick of this s/l and those who write for this show. I wrote to NBC and I complained about some of the worst story lines Days has ever had to endure. If you want to see what romance is like go back two years ago when Ej and Sami were seeing each other...Dancing on the roof, candlelit dinners, going out dancing. This is the chemistry that started Ejami. Their love making scene was just beautiful, and gave us hope. But that was short lived. Or go to youtube.com and watch some of their videos. That's the Ejami magic. Not the crap that has being written right now. Ej would never give up on Sami after all this time. We never even see him fight for her on the "so called" even playing field.We're lucky if we saw them at all. He was always too busy doing something with Nicole. He became an Ej that was totally out of character. Sami admits the day before the elevator sex she has feelings for him. He knows she would have never said it if it wasn't so. Of course Nicole had to come over so Sami would get upset and call Ej to tell him she still cared for Lucas. What kind of BS is that? He knows in his heart she loves him and he so much as told her so he knew til she admitted it. I'm done.
All I can say is Nic-ho must have been a hell of a lay and Sami must have sucked for him to start chasing after Nic-ho. That is just what it looks like. I HATE this show now. We have waited so long for Ejami just to be jerked around over and over. Days has become the joke of the soap world. I can see why. The fans never get what they want no matter how much they beg and plead.

Congrats to the Hair Department on winning the Emmy and to all the actors who were nominated. Thank you Dena, for acknowledging how AWESOME the love, support and dedication is for our EJAMI. We're not a happy fanbase right now but still holding on, hoping that DOOL will eventually capitalize on the EJAMI Magic.

Hi Dena, thanks for blogging with us. I have to admit I needed a few days to calm down before coming on here and blowing out all of my anger. I started to watch Days at the beginning of this year and have been enthralled with the intensity, humor and passion between EJ and Sami. It is rare to find two actors that have such a spark! I've spend time back tracking their history and although I never saw the 'rape' live I have seen videos of it. I was very happy to hear Ej and Sami discuss it and for sami to forgive ej. Forgivess and redemption are very powerful things in this world. Since the victim forgave then I believe it is time to move on. I am offended by the one person on your blog that keeps referring to ejami as rapeme fans - rather offensive but I guess some people need some time to grow up.
I so enjoyed the sami and ej love scenes and I am glad that sami finally admitted her feelings to ej. What I don't understand is why this 30 year old mother of three children, acts more immaturely than a preteen? Don't you find it rather painful watching this woman act in such a pathetic weak manner? Lucas has lied to her about his ankle bracelet and she knows it and yet she clings to this hero worship of him and says that lucas taught her that honesty is the most important thing in a relationship??? When is Sami going to realize that what she has with lucas is a very immature disfunctional relationship where she apparently constantly seeks approval from him and then becomes a whining begging chastised little girl when she doesn't get it? I find this awful to watch. At least when she and Ej have a row she is more fiesty and adult like in her conversation. EJ seems to bring out the woman in her. I was quite devastated after reading James Scott's interview in SOW. FOr a man who has such depth of feelings and love for his family it is beyond the point of belief to hear him say after sex in an elevator he suddenly has an emotional connection with nicole. The same Nicole that lied about keeping his secret and betrayed him. What happened to EJ? The man who was almost in tears at the immigration hearing because he was so afraid of losing his family is now admitting to having orchestrated it all? Then I read the spoiler that he sues for sole custody of Johnny? It makes me regret the time I spend when I tuned into Days early this year. From what I have read about Ej's history he didn't get to spend much time with his mother because his father either kidnapped/stole him away from her. Having missed a mothers love I cannot imagine a man with the sensitivity that EJ has shown would do such a thing.
I understand that Sami as she has recently been written upon Lucas' return needs some time to herself to grow up and evaluate who she really is and who she really wants to be and hopefully not this weak clone that lucas wants her to be. Apparently there is a warrior woman medallion out there somewhere that Colleen gave to Marlena? Perhaps it is time for Sami to wear that around her neck and to realize she has strength, she is a strong courageous woman who belongs with a man like EJ. I am so tempted to stop watching as I do not enjoy nicole and ej as anything other than friends. I can't imagine with the immense popularity of EJAMI that it just ends like this. Somehow I keep seeing clues (perhaps imaginery on my part) that Ejami will reunite stronger and improved from the original version. I really hope the lucas and sami situation will end. I have never seen two more mismatched people on a soap in my life. I would hope that there was a mistake and both of the twins are EJ's.
On a non ejami related note. I am also not enjoying Marlena. What a selfish horrible woman! Her husband is emotionally in bad shape and I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't suffering from post traumatic stress disorder but as his wife and as a shrink she can't seem to get past what she wants and needs. If she doesn't change fast I can't see how she would be worthy of John's love. Perhaps she and her daughter need to go away together and reflect how insane they both are.
So far I am not enjoying max's storyline nor am I enjoying chelsea. I would have loved to have seen tony and anna get married onscreen.
I've rambled on long enough. I do have to be honest and say in response to your 'doing it for us and really caring' that after reading the spoilers and reading James' interview that I feel as if I have been severely kicked in the teeth in regards to the sole reason I started watching this show - EJAMI.

Did you by any chance happen to see the young 9 yr. old boy, David, on America's Got Talent? He was diagnosed with autism at age 3, never spoke a word, and one day the school bus driver told the mom that on the bus, he SANG all the way to school, and then back home again. He was just amazing. I just could not help but think of you, of Theo, of Days, as I watched.

I want to start off by saying that I'm a third generation watcher of over 20 years and I hardly missed a show until recently. Now I can say I could care less if I watch. Part of the reason is the younger group. I don't like them but seems like Max, Stef, and Chelesa are on all the time. The main reason I don't watch is the distruction of my favorites, Marlena and John. I personally was excited about the new John and I even like him at times but I can not sit and watch them the way they are. Marlena is being shown as a person who can't make up her mind. One minute she loves John and wants to make a go of a relationship with him, the next you have her leaving to search her soul and see if she wants him (She has done this twice, she should know). John is just as bad. One minute he is very loving and wants to be with his wife, even stating that while he doesn't understand why he is very attracted and comfortable around her. The next he is very cruel to her and entertaining his "lady friend" Ava (who I don't see why she was put in the mix.) The new relationship between Ava and John is making me sick. I could care less if you keep John the way he is or turn him back into the old John, I just want him and Marlena to wake up and get back together. I want to see romance between the characters not jump into bed with a different someone every week. I want Ava to leave married men who have amnesia alone. But most importantly I want JARLENA back. When that happens I will tune back in.

I'm a long time viewer (over 30 yrs) and have only grown more and more attached to EJ and Sami since they first had scenes together! The chemistry between the two of these characters blows my mind. Hello Dena! I'm glad that it seems you had a good time out for Emmy night! I'm LOVING PHICOLE, that's Philip & Nicole, and I really enjoy their scenes they have a lot of chemistry together and look great together! I'm loving the story of her needing protection from Trent and how Philip is softening towards her and wanted to protect her and offer his help to her! Philip seems very concerned and worried about her! I would love to see PHICOLE explored some more! And I'm glad to see the chemistry and excitement about Philip & Nicole! And I can't wait for more PHICOLE scenes, I actually like them together and I'm loving them and their possibilites, especially with Trent in the mix and Philip now being powerful and giving her protection and helping her, he's curious and worried about Nicole! And I love the way he grabbed her arm and held her and the way they softened towards and were tender to each other and the look that they shared right before she left out of the mansion and said "Philip, its fine. I'll be fine okay. Thank you!" He's really worried about her, and unlike EJ, Philip and Nicole really do know each other, so their connection and relationship is more believeable, more interesting, and honest! I really like and enjoy watching Philip & Nicole! And I'm loving Trent in the mix which gives Philip another good storyline to be involved in and be curious about and another woman that he's good with in the process!
And I'm really interested to see Philip & Nicole and Trent! I'm liking where that is going because it shows Philip softening towards Nicole, despite everything, and them having feelings for each other through them trying to overcome Trent! And it would be interesting if Eric, even, came back somehow and got in the mix and ended up helping the love of his life, Nicole! And having that bring them back together! Please Dena, I really like and enjoy PHICOLE and the possibility of Eric returning for her! It would be REALLY good and so exciting to see a Eric/Nicole/Philip/Morgan storyline! It would be just exciting in general to see Eric Brady come back and get into the mix in Salem and to see him with and helping his true love Nicole in her time of need! It would be something new, fresh, and exciting, for the characters Eric/Nicole/Philip/and Morgan! I would love to see that and even a possible Philip/Nicole/Eric triangle when he returns! That would be so fresh and exciting and change of pace and storyline for viewers instead of the same old predictable stuff with the same characters! Thanks Dena!

Dena, Barb has the right of it when it comes to the Rapemi fanbase. Funny how they brag about their 3700 members, when the truth is that over 1800 of these members have never made one single post at last check. Of course they turned the option to check this information off when it was brought to their attention time and time again, realizing that TPTB could see the truth. They also hide some of their forums so TPTB can't see their whining and complaining, their real thoughts about the show to try and fool anyone coming to their site. Oh yes and their plotting and scheming when it comes to things like this blog and spamming everywhere. But consider this, if they were so big, had so many "active" members, why is their only 256 signatures on a petition they themselves started? Now you know the truth Dena, check it out for yourself. I have wached the show for a number of years and I loved Jack and Jen and Bo and Hope but I have never been as captivated by a couple as I have with EJAMI. Their chemistry is beyond amazing, their scenes together are phenomenal - those two just have IT in spades! Storyline potential? Endless - a Brady (and an anti one at that) and a DiMera (the Prince!) - wow!! So much potential - especially with a scheming Sami and EJ scheming together to overcome obstacles in their path. I'm very sad today, It's amazing how after years of watching, i might actually just stop after one bad episode. Today's episode of ejole ruined everything. I don't like any of the characters anymore. I was going to give todays episode a chance but it was even more horrible than i could have imagined. Turned it off. It's amazing how ejami has a way bigger fanbase and got completely ignored. Even if ejami is endgame, it was still ruined by ejole sex and i still refuse to watch anymore. EJ isn't EJ anymore. Hi Dena! Thanks for the nice blog and for taking the time to blog with us! Personally, I think the show is fantastic and I am an Ejami fan. Yes, I would love to see more Ejami, but that is not the only couple I enjoy or the reason I like to watch. I like all the storylines and many of the couples!

Anyways, I think that if people are going to leave rude comments, whether you are Ejami fans or Lumi fans etc., I think you need to be respectful, non-judgemental, and leave positive messages. Days is a show on TV. It is not real life. I enjoy it, but I think some people are really living in a fantasyland. I think being nasty and rude to Dena on her blog is disgracing to all Days fans.

Dena, some of us, like me, are not rude and I am going to PRAISE you for being some spice back to Days. I think the elevator scenario is brilliant and I am enjoying Max's search for his sister. Also, Sami is pushing EJ away, so I don't blame EJ for straying. EJ has been good to her. Anyways, thanks for blogging with us and thanks for heating the show up! Also, John Black is quite possibly the funniest character I have ever watched on television. His sarcastic and witty comments are amazingly funny. I would love to see more of that! :)

Dena, I really do not like how you are writing Sami. She is my all time favourite character but over the last few months the writing for her has been poor. I hope this changes soon.

Dena, I think it was a huge mistake to alienate fans with the elevator stunt. I think this story with EJ and Sami has been a mistake ever since 5/21 when Sami turned the cold shoulder to EJ again. We've waited two years and we need to be getting more from Sami by now than her throwing insults to EJ and telling him to get lost. We need more from EJ now than still trying to manipulate Sami into showing her feelings for him but not this elevator business. That was just wrong.
I think a lot of people are going to tune out now and that's not what the show needs, period, but especially not now during sweeps and when the show will be moved around in August for the Olympics.
I hope you reconsider your story for EJami and make some true progress for them in an explosive way before it is too late for Days.

I'm sorry Dena, but I could not stomach those elavator scenes. I felt like I was punched in the gut and I had to turn off the TV. This is not EJ. These scenes would have been pathetic if it wasn't so disgusting.

Hi Dena! Just wanted to let you know I'm not a spammer, contrary to what others have said here. Visit FL one day and you'll see there's plenty us who are active posters. We actually discuss the show on a daily basis and usually have our discussion thread hopping during the day, even when we aren't happy about what's going on. But we still talk about it because we care about the show. But enough of that! I know that you're having a challenge with Days and believe me when I say that I want you and the show to have success. Do I want EJami included in that success? Heck yeah, I love them dearly. I won't lie about that, not at all. But how I would love to enjoy the whole show once again. I am hoping that along with EJami, I can also enjoy Marlena and John's story, Steve and Kayla's story, and Hope and Bope's story. Those of the people who make me want to tune in. I'm not opposed to the newbies, but the people I have an emotional connection to, those are the ones I would hope to see in some exciting stories. Thanks Dena!!!

Worst episode ever!

To the blog that says Nicole should become pregnant...If you knew the show, you would know Nicole can't get pregnant. She was shot in her stomach and it left her unable to have children. But I did watch the elevator scene and it was sick. Ej and Nicole have no chemistry between them. The sex looked forced and robotical, nothing like with Ej and Sami. What a mess you are making of Ejami.

Wow, all I did was to write a message to Dena, thanking her for taking the time to write here. I was just surprised to see so many anonymous posts, all ordering Dena to do this or do that. I honestly was taken aback.
I did not ask for any favors. Nor did I mention any fan base by name. And when I spoke of another scenario for Sami, what I did not say was that I think it is time she was alone and without a man for a while. It is too bad so many jumped to the wrong conclusion, making inaccurate accusations.

I did not insult anyone, cuss anyone out or name call. I was trying very hard to be as neutral as possible.This is Dena's blog, she works hard at Days, has a family and home to take care of, and yet takes the time to come here and tell Days fans about her life. May 20th was the most romantic passionate love scene I've ever seen. Nothing can compare to that scene. Everything was magical including the acting, dialogue, chemistry, setting and context. Also the buildup was beautifully delivered. It was about time- 2 years in the making! May 16-20. Now that is what I call romance.

Hey Dena!!! Speaking of loyal fans, PHLOE fans definately are. We waited 8 years for them to be together and 5 years for Jay and Nadia to reunite onscreen. We are still patiently waiting for them to have their lovestory. Jay and Nadia have too much chemistry to pass up. I really kind of expected a Phloe story since we had the original actors back, it made sense they would be in a story together that would have them finally become a loving couple, but it hasnt turned out that way. It's really sad because no other pairings for Chloe and Philip have been as magical and smoking hot as Phloe and I don't think they ever will be. Not Phil/Belle, Phil/Morgan, Broe, Lucas/Chloe. PHLOE has a great history and so many romantic moments. Their story had depth and showed how love can change someone for the better. Philip and Chloe both grew by knowing each other. Philip went from a spoiled, shallow, rich jerk to someone who was mature, caring and loving. Chloe went from being an awkward teenager who used her glasses and dark clothes as a way to hide from the world and was afraid to let anyone get close to her because of her past, to someone who was able to finally let her guard down and let herself be loved. Philip and Chloe were good for each other. It should be Jay and Nadia as Phloe no other pairings are good enough. Otherwise why even have them come back to the show, if the wrongs from the past (Chloe dumping Brady) weren't going to be righted the second time around. Its so sad to watch them behaving so OCC now. Phil is okay, but Chloe has been ruined by the sex with Lucas and FWB with Philip. Please give us PHLOE.

I loved today's episode. It's like the writers wanted to be sure that there was no mistaking EJ's mind and who he was with. It could have been played off that he wasn't thinking of Nicole, but no, they had that issue addressed loud and clear. So by the time he and Nicole were making love he knew exactly who he was making love with. Nicole! So no drunken stupor, no fantasizing about anyone else. You are right about one thing and one thing only, FL does not have 3700 active members. That would be some feat for a daytime drama fan site - I don't even think Y&R fan sites boast that kind of activity. At FL, we have over 1000 members who, by virtue of having over 300 posts are considered "active" members. At any given time on the site, there are easily 70 DIFFERENT people logged in and during one of the BEST EJami moments (the love scene), there were 162 members online for about 2 hours in the middle of a work day sharing in the excitement and joy over those amazing scenes. I challenge you to find any other Days couple fan site that sees even a fraction of that kind of activity. The 3700 number just shows how much interest there is in the site compared to other fan sites that have been around much longer and have about half the total number of members and a tiny fraction the number of active posters. It's one thing to have almost 4000 members, of which 1800 are lurkers than to have 2000 members, of which 1800 are lurkers. It is about comparing interest in a storyline and the EJami storyline is very obviously the one that interests the most Sami and EJ fans. Yes, EJami fans are passionate and dedicated and I don't think any of us should apologize for that. No one is stopping other fanbases from being equally passionate about their desired storylines.

As for "hidden" sections. There is only one hidden section other than the admin section and that is the section where videos are posted. Once members reach 30 posts, they have access. We do have password protected sections - the ranting sections for example. Yes, EJami fans sometimes get mad and need to vent. Tell Dena something she doesn't know! LOL At FL, we prefer to keep the main board positive so that our members have a positive experience when posting at our site. Many, many message boards have ranting sections. This isn't a novel idea that is unique to FL.

The fact is that other pairings for Sami or EJ just don't work because the magic that Ali and James create on screen can't be matched. I don't mind bumps in the road but it is time for a new Days supercouple and EJ and Sami are it!

On another note, I didn't like them at first and I'm still not sure about their chemistry but the CDN Luloe scenes today were great! Lucas was funny, cute and it was so refreshing to see him truly forgetting about Sami and moving on. The contrast shown between Lucas and EJ was remarkable. Lucas doesn't give Sami a second thought while EJ is calling out her name while having sex with another woman. It was great! Lucas trying to climb out the roof of the elevator was funny too - I really like the vibe between Lucas and Chloe and I'm looking forward to seeing where you take the story.

I was a Director of Marketing at a large corporate company in NYC for many years so I'm a big believer in making money and advertising, but what in the world are you doing? Are you having people write in for you on this blog (as I would at my company because as marketers we don't have many scruples, do we?), saying how great Lucas and Chloe would be together? Because something smells fishy and rotten and desperate to me on this show. When I saw the promos for the "Summer of Love" and I saw Morgan with Phillip -- who is this Morgan girl? I thought she was just the "friend" in the sorority to help Stephanie and Chelsea bounce things off of. I didn't realize she was going to be so front and center. And you can tell when two actors kiss when there is chemistry. When Nadia and Brian (Chloe and Lucas) kiss it's like they're brother and sister forced to do something unholy. When Nadia and Jay Kenneth kiss . . . can't you see what we see on TV? Are you really listening to marketing focus groups and getting that desperate? Or are you watching with your own two eyes. Because even as a marketer sometimes I had to go with my own instincts, and you certainly aren't. The people who are writing about how great Chloe and Lucas are together are obvious plants from NBC, and this whole blog thing is sad. NBC destroying one of the "dynasty" soaps and I don't know who in the world is at the helm of all these horrible pairings.

I assure you that I do not work for NBC and I agree that Lucas and Chloe don't have magical chemistry BUT I did enjoy today's episode with Lucas and Chloe and I think there may be some potential there that the writers or producers see and they are willing to take a chance on the storyline. Are you in Canada? If not, you haven't seen today's CDN episode yet so you might want to reserve judgment until you do. I was surprised I enjoyed it (just like I was surprised that I enjoyed Daniel and Chelsea together when I fully expected to hate them) - sometimes, marketing has to allow for the unexpected and if you were a director of marketing then I'm sure you already know that. I really haven't seen much Lucas and Chloe love here - mostly EJami. Not sure where you are seeing so much Luloe love that you felt compelled to critique it. If we want to talk about lack of chemistry, EJ and Nicole have zero chemistry - great actors, beautiful people but NO magic. I agree that the show needs to write great front burner stories for couples that have chemistry and for them to do that, they need to push forward with EJami.

Sami needs to wake up and EJ needs to sterilize himself but they STILL belong together. Nothing will change that no matter what.

I'm wondering about Ali, is she going to be off screen for long periods of time this year as well as the beginning of next after she gives birth? Is that why you have broken up ejami? I'm writing as a concerned fan of DOOL. I am really disappointed with days 'summer of romance.' Not one of my favourite characters is being featured or they are matched with the wrong people. I'm all for having fresh blood on DOOL but do these characters have to be front and centre? I don't care enough about them to get interested in thier storylines. I am also concerned about the lack of consistency in the writing. I can think of several storylines that were just stopped in thier tracks. DOOL needs continuity in its storylines. I've also noticed that several characters in the show have been acting unlike themselves or saying one thing and then changing thier opinion in the next episode, which makes the stories even more disjointed. I hope the writing improves soon because it is becoming increasingly difficult to stay interested in this show.

Why are the ratings down? Because the viewers want stories about love and romance, not random hook ups. Give us PHLOE!

Dena, I just want to express how much I enjoy the Dansea storyline. They are such a breath of fresh air. Some good old fashion romance with some good old fashion family interference. There is enough angst available for them in dealing simply with their relationship with each other and their respective families...A DiMera and and Brady (i.e. Romeo and Juliet). I have been a 20+ year fan of the show and I very much want it to survive. If you think that nasty elevator sex is the key to higher ratings and success then you are sorely mistaken and not the right fit for this show at this point in time. I don't mean to be harsh but the future of Days is very much my concern and EJ and Sami could be the show's ticket to higher ratings and thus a more long term renewal.
You better have a point with all of this, although I cannot imagine what it is. May be the blackout was all a bad nightmare by Sami, she wakes up, runs to EJ and falls in his arms admitting that she is in love with him and only him and accepts him for who he is just as he accepts her.

Please, please, please give us more of Daniel and Chelsea, they are adorable. Let them have their summer romance and build this amazing love they have for each other.

After the Daniel and Chelsea's date the other week - I believe this is the summer of romance on the show. I want to see all the couples get romantic...Bo and Hope need some couple time and so does Abe and Lexie. I hope the show will keep Daniel and Chelsea having sweet moments. Jen

PHLOE are meant to be. Why would you want to put Morgan and Lucas between them? Chloe has been written totally out of character. She would never hook up with Lucas! If someone at DOOL did their research they would know that she is a woman with morals. Check out 2000-2002. Many viewers fell in love with Phiip and Chloe as a couple in 2000 and Chloe chose Brady before. This time we want to see a happy ending for this couple. Give us PHLOE!

It's clear by the ratings, a lot of the pairings the show are trying are not working. Here are my suggestions to mix it up:

First, you take that away from us by barely allowing them to be on screen together this year. Second, you finally get this couple over the hurdle of 12/29 and then you do this about face with EJ still being up to scheming and then this blackout nightmare.
Don't you think fans of this pairing are tired of being jerked around and might figure they are never getting rewarded for their patience and tune out??
Well, that's what I would think if I were writing the show and were truly concerned about the fans and felt we were "in this together". You can only try someone's patience so much. Summer romance is what it is all about, I hope that I get to see the best couple in daytime continue with their relationship and they would be Dr. Daniel Jonas and Ms. Chelsea Brady. They are one incredible pair. I want more.

I have been watching Days for 25 years and I have never seen a love story more real and more moving than Daniel and Chelsea. I never imagined that I would be so taken by them. But now I am addicted. I have to put my children down for nap so I can watch the show in peace. No one interrupts my time with Daniel and Chelsea. I want to see this story continue.

It should have been EJ and CHLOE making love in the elevators. That would have been magical and scorching hott, perfect for the Summer of Romance. Currently, EJ and Samantha are truly the only reason I watch the show, though I will pause FF long enough to watch Victor interacting with Phillip or NuJohn with just about anybody. I really do miss my Ej and Samantha in scene's together. They have captured the hearts of many fans. I also like the idea of Allie and Johnny both being Ej's. The story line potentials are endless with this couple.

Thank you for the amazing storylines this year. Some of them have really had me in tears or left butterflies in my stomach for days. Chelsea's emotional scenes with Bo left me crying by the end of the show and Daniel and Chelsea's endless love gives me butterflies everytime I watch. Let us see more of Chelsea and Daniel and more of Chelsea with Bo and Hope, and more of Daniel with Phillip and Victor. The family ties are great.

Dena I would really like to watch Days again but I can't take what has happened to ejami.I have watched this show for 25 years and fell in love with this couple from the moment they met.You gave us The Talk and The Lovemaking and now it's all gone down the drain. I hope you have a plan to put Sami and Ej together because with everything else going on now there is nothing to keep me interested.Bring back the romance and let Sami wake up and see Ej is all she needs.

I am really enjoying the relationship between Daniel and Chelsea. It's a refreshing change to see true romance on a Soap and you have found that perfect Romance between these two wonderful characters. I'm sure there will be ups and downs but I am confident that in the end Daniel and Chelsea will be together. It has been evident since they first met that they were destined to be together. Thank you for giving us fans a new SUPERCOUPLE to root for!

Watch when the writing was in the toilet is finally paying off thanks to Hogan and now you.... I'm a huge Lumi fan who really gets the Ejami. It would be hot to let them continue to be together as they bring out he honesty and raw feelings. EJ has to be a good guy. And John & Marlena definitely belong together. Why would remembering his past mean he loses what he knows now??? Not necessary !! I miss Alice this year... I know she's getting up in years, is she able to come in for anything??? ever??? The rest of the cast is hot, exciting and full of possibilites that I thought the writers had long forgot about and it has been a tough haul for the actors as well!! Thanks to all of them for hanging in there and doing their best with what they had to work with!! Love the show, the cast and the crew. You guys rock!! Daniel and Chelsea are written wonderfully they are full of excitement, romance, passion, anger and determination!!! Seeing Chelsea step up to her grandmother and grandfather was wonderful!! I also loved the way Daniel is getting to be committed to his relationship to Chelsea (he needed to set down some roots) the way he dealt with Lexie showed me that he wasnt gonna let Chelsea go for any little obstacle. And this whole Kate thing is just a tiny little obstacle in there way!! Im sure that you Dena have a wonderful story prepared just for them!!

DOOL is the goose that has laid the golden egg-that being EJ and Sami. The only time I can recall where two characters have been discussed as much as them would be Luke and Laura (GH) fame who were quintessentially the ultimate supercouple.

I absolutely love the Daniel and Chelsea story!! They have so much potential to be the very next supercouple!! Their date scenes were wonderful...from the awkwardness to when the first date began to the frustration to when the second date ended....it was awesome!! The chemistry between these two actors is just amazing Dena thank you so much for everything you have done to bring these two together. The journey was a bit frustrating at times and I know there is still tons of problems to come for them but please let their ROMANCE continue and let the heat sizzle!!! Recently I discovered these two great characters on the Internet. I became curious and I searched for more information about them. I found out that they played Samie and EJ on DOOL. I live in The Netherlands and we don't have DOOL on our TV and I didn't know them at all. Now I know there whole story from the beginning until now and I'm amazed by there chemistry.
I think it's a waste of time that they are not together at the moment. They are totally out of there original character and I think it's he shame and not fun to watch.
I hope that soon you will come to your senses and put them back together so that we can enjoy there great chemistry again.

The chemistry that Shawn and Rachel share is nothing like I have ever seen before with any other actors, EVER! The only reason I'm tuning into the show these days is for Daniel and Chelsea. They just have IT, and are a truly wonderful couple to watch, and I love this storyline. Hi Dena, I am a new viewer to days since April, I was hooked on As the World Turns but switched over to watching Days when I caught a glimpse of what I thought was a striking new supercouple. Sami and EJ caught my attention on the SOD covers. What a striking pair and after catching up on their history what an incredible story. I started watching and was immediately entranced with their incredible chemistry. The love scene in may was beautifully done. I really don't understand what has happened since. Lukas doesn't seem like a fitting match for Sami. I do not understand why she thinks he is. And now EJ is suddenly in love with the constantly drunk woman, nicole - just because his feelings are hurt? This is a grown man not a young high schooler. I feel like I've accidentally stumbled into an alternate universe. I find it all very confusing and I must say dissapointing. It's gotten to the point that I'm just scratching my head so I will have to say it seemed like a good soap for awhile but if this soap is trying to get new viewers I can only say from my point of view it is one big ball of confusion. It appears I have wasted my time watching - it seemed so promising. I'll have to tune back into As the World Turns.

wow, there are some serious EJAMI lovers on this blog!! I also share their frustration but am also afraid of the day that EJAMI becomes a happy (aka boring) couple. This happens all the time on TV...its the tension between them that makes it sizzle! But couldn't you just give us a little more EJAMI, a little more often? They finally 'get together' but we barely had time to come out of our shock that it was finally happening before you threw Lucas back into the mix. Ugh! Its about time Sami got a man who loves her and regrards her as his first choice. Sami and her portrayer Ali Sweeney are very popular and this summer has been nothing but disappointing for her fans.

I am standing up for EJ. Since nobody else is.How can you want him with Sami when she doesn't want him or at least doesn't admit to it. All Sami has done to EJ is pushed him away, rejected him, and even broken his heart oh and not to mention throwing her love for Lucas in his face every chance she got. Now do not get me wrong James and Ali are great together their chemisrty is great, but Sami has the maturity level of a 14 yr. old, and until Sami can grow up and come to her senses about who she is really in love with and we know it is EJ. I do not want her anywhere near him. EJ deserves to be happy so why not with Nicole. EJ has done more laughing and been more happy when he is with Nicole than he has ever been with Sami, except when they are taking care of the twins. Plus Nicole lets him be himself Sami never has. EJ always had to be this other kind of guy for Sami, she could never except him just the way he is flaws and all, just like he excepts her with all of her flaws. So if Sami really wants to be with EJ she has to except him for himself and to tell her family to take flying leap because she is in love with EJ.
So why don't we let EJ be happy even if it is Nicole.

The above post is a prime example of how bad the storyline is right now. The fans want EJAMI but due to poor writing of the character of Sami it is making it difficult to root for her. The fans want Sami to stop her denial and admit her true feelings. They want the 'antibrady' back because that is who Sami is. The Sami who is currently on screen is not the true Sami. They want want EJ and Sami happy together and anything else would be settling for mediocrity.

Daniel and Chelsea should be together. Bo and Hope made it through all these years why not Daniel and Chelsea. It's nice to have some real romance back in the show. Please don't make Daniel out to be a bad guy. You have enough of them already. We need an underdog and this couple is it. Give us at least one old fashioned romance guys. Thanks.

I'm a newbie to Days and only watching for one month right now but I'm already sold on the Chelsea/Daniel romance! These two have some great chemistry! Actually, I don't think I have seen a couple with so much chemistry for a while now! And the age differnce makes the whole story even more interesting! It feels like them against the world because of her family not really accepting their relationship and I like that! Because my motto is couples who fight together, stay together, at least for a while on soaps.
So I'm really excited about this story and hope to see lots of romance with these two!

I'm just going to agree with the previous poster that Daniel having a fling with someone else is completely out of the blue and makes absolutely no sense at all! Don't you see what a great couple you have with Daniel and Chelsea? They are the only romance on Days right now and you feel the need to destroy them too? Sorry, but I don't get that! What's going on with EJami??? Stephanie and Max have went through almost nothing and they get to be together and going on a romantic adventure together. EJ and Sami, two years later, still can't get out of square one. What is the problem??? Is there some behind the scenes struggle going on where one side wants them and the other doesn't so we get this holding pattern drivel day after day on screen instead??
I'm ashamed to watch the show these days. Give Days its romance back! Not sleazy sex and swapping partners all the time.

Daniel and Chelsea we must have more of them together! They're barely getting any airtime at all. Please they are the reason I started watching in the first place and now I really don't get to see them at all.

Dear Dena, please, please, please do not let the Daniel and Kate storyline turn out as bad as it sounds. Chelsea and Daniel are magic together and they do not deserve (especially Chelsea, after what happened with her mother) to have something this horrifying tear them apart. I really do not want to see Daniel as the bad guy, but if he has recently slept with Kate, then I cannot help but look at him as a disgusting pig, who obviously never really loved Chelsea at all. This will leave Chelsea not only heartbroken, but totally shamed and disillusioned. For a character who has grown so much, so many horrible things have happened for her in the past few months, and even more with Victor now, I cannot watch the show and enjoy seeing my favorite character be totally ripped to pieces. I do not understand the logic of it. So please, let there be some explanation that makes this situation resolvable. I love Chelsea, and I think what has been created for her with Daniel is purely genius. Please do not take this away!!

Wow, this post sums up what I think is wrong with Days right now. I've not watched since May. I have tried and just had to give up and spoilers don't indicate any reason why I should tune back in. Viewers want romance not soft core porn in elevators. We want to see some emotional pay off for the couples we care about not just have them randomly ripped apart and paired off with others. The only couple you seem interested in writing a decent love story for is inexplicably is Stephanie and Max. When Alison Sweeney said at the Emmy's that Sammi,EJ, Nicole, Lucas and Chloe would be a mess she was sure right. But what made you think viewers would tune in to see a mess? You guys must be smoking the good stuff indeed.

I know this is only a show but it feels like family.
I've watched days since around 1968 with my Grandmother.I grew up with the characters. I really enjoy it. I've never written much with a computer but a friend of mine told me to try this site. My only request is to please -please-please-let Daniel and Chelsea stay together. We have lost Mike and April. Melissa and Pete, Frankie and Jenifer, silly Eugene and Kaliope, Shane and kimmy, Bill and Laura, Shawn and Belle, Isabelle and John, Roman and Marlena, now John and Marlena again,Justin and Adrien,and thats not even all of them. We lost almost all of the Hortons and now it seems the only Brady couples left are Bo and Hope and Kayla and Steve. It was such a pleasure to see Doug and Julie again!!!!Please let us get some more romantic couples back. Chelsea and Daniel have such a super potential please don't let Shawn and Rachel get away they are some real keepers.It's not often that two characters can really act and have that much chemistry going for them.

Dena, I watched Days of Our Lives for years, then for one reason or another quit watching the show, until I saw EJ and Samantha. The chemistry & connection of these two jumped off the screen at me and I had to keep coming back for more. I have always been a fan of Bo and Hope & I never thought anyone could match the chemistry these two have, but EJ and Sami do, they have that same magic, you can't take your eyes off them. They drew me back in and it didn't take long for me to be completely hooked. They made Days must see TV for me again. I love EJ and Samantha together and really want to see the tremendous potential of this couple fully realized. I have been really disappointed in the show of late and find it very hard to watch. Without Sami and EJ I have no incentive to watch when before I was enjoying watching the show more than I've enjoyed watching a Soap in a very long time. You had me hooked, now you've lost me again. I just had to post again. I agree with the poster above. All of the fan bases are getting screwed. This is not the summer of romance. EJ is doing Nicole for no reason, Chloe and Lucas out of the blue, now Kate and Daniel. I read in the SOW that even the actors were surprised by the sudden fling. I think you need to redo your promo to something more real like SUMMER OF SEX. At least then we would know what to expect. Calling out another woman's name and doing your girlfriend's grandmother is not ROMANTIC!

I have been a loyal viewer for years. My mom watched it...therefore so did I. I remember all the great couples. Doug, Julie, and Julie's mom, Bo and Hope, Jennifer and Frankie, Roman and Marlana, Roman and Anna, etc... What seems different about the show then and the show now is what connected the characters. Back then, the hospital was a focal point. If there wasn't something going on in the hospital there was something going on with one of the family members (usually a Hortan). There was a balance of work drama and family drama. Characters had a purpose. The characters today main occupation is meddling in other people's lives. They don't do anything else. What are the characters passionate about besides each other? What else do they do all day?

Sami and EJ - I have to say I am a fan. Please take the time and watch how their relationship started if you haven't already. EJ was the only person who liked Sami for who she was - overracting slightly crazed, and all. Every other guy in Sami's life did not want Samil first. She was a way to get to Carrie, Carrie didn't want insert guy's name here, or it was part of some grand scheme. EJ liked Sami. The 2 actors have chemistry no doubt. Somewhere along the way a writer just muddied the water of what was on the way of being a great love story. No matter the writing, those 2 characters are still good together. Jack and Jennifer had a great love story. Their pairing was built and gradual. There was a rape involved in that story line too. However, they the writers were able to get them through it. Jack and Jennifer worked together and because of it got themselves into funny situations. I would love to see something like that happen to Sami and EJ. When they work together they are a great pair. Perhaps Sami could be EJ's investigator. She's good a digging up stuff - why not put it to good use. This would put the 2 of them together doing things other than arguing over the same old story. It would give them a chance to be at each others throats about things other than their relationship. It could also put them into interesting situations. This would also bring in other characters to different story lines. It's just a thought.

I am so sorry that you get so much flack from some of these folks. I think most of the Days episodes are great. All the fans will never agree on the same things anyway. All you can do is take the positive comments and act on them. I hope all of the personal attacks on other fans quits. That isn't what this blog is for. Thanks for Daniel and Chelsea. I love the way Daniel has helped so many places go green and cares not only about his patients but the environment also. Chelsea has really matured during the last year and I love her spunk and determination. She reminds me alot of Hope when she was younger. I hope they have a future on the show because I enjoy watching them together. They are both really great actors, even when they aren't talking their eyes are so full of expression it is amazing. I also like the cool first date/dinner they had at the hospital. It made my heart pound. Keep up the good work.

I'm from Australia and wanted to say I am really loving the show right now (Aus is a year behind the US). I'm so glad Days didn't go to pay T.V like Y&R. I must admit that I never thought much of Sami in the past but with EJ she shines. EJ and Sami are really something else! I hope the twins are EJs that would make them DiMera/Brady Babies! Anyway Keep up the good work.

I love the Chelsea and Daniel storyline becuase I can assimilate to it!! I myself am only 24 years old and dating a doctor that is 12 years older than me!! I swear I'm not even joking around!!! Not only can I assimilate to it but its a great story written with agnst love trials and so many other great things!! I look forward to seeing them on my screen in love and sharing their agreements and disagreements fo every couple had high and lows!! Which is why I am not as upset about the Kate storyline(it's a soap afterall), but if you put these two together that would just be horrible. Let Daniel fight for his Chelsea girl!!! And let Chelsea be able to forgive Daniel!! I will be watching and hoping that you will turn this current storyline into a positive for those of us that see the show for this great couple!!

Cancel any storylines about the following people:Dan, Chealsea, Stephanie, Morgan, Max, Lucas, Trent, Marlena, Max, Max, Dan, Chealsea, Stephanie. Are you getting my point the repetitive nonsensical storylines involving these characters will bring down the show even more than ever? This the beginning of the "Save Days of our Lives" campaign. If you cannot do the right thing leave the post to someone who can truly save this show from the deep pits of cancellation. After all you can keep thinking that your supposed work on the last soap you worked on (OLTL) that just recently won an award (Emmy)for writing means the writing you produce is excellent. Unfortunately anyone that watched OLTL knows you are not a good writer and you are only interesting to a point, then the show takes a massive nosedive. So please stop patting yourself on the back and realize you're now with a network with a mass hoard of viewers who have gone through the ringer with some the worst head writers ever. Do not think that those same viewers have any loyalty to the network. Be careful, step on the wrong crack and that is the end. You hold not only the show's future in your hands, but the viewers interest and the job of thousands who work on the set everyday. If you need inspiration for a storyline, bring old characters (Eric Brady, Frankie Brady, etc). Bring up actual history (Sami actually having an actual backbone and not bowing down to anybody for anything), stick to a characters motives don't just change it at a moments notice only to reverse back to the original. In fact just read the following:How not to wreck a Soap Opera by Douglas Marland
·Watch the show.
·Learn the history of the show. You would be surprised at the ideas that you can get from the back-story of your characters.
·Read the fan mail.(To a point.) The very characters that are not thrilling to you may be the audience's favorites.
·Be objective. When I came in to ATWT, the first thing I said was, what is pleasing the audience? You have to put your own personal likes and dislikes aside and develop the characters that the audience wants to see.
·Talk to everyone; writers and actors especially. There may be something in a character's history that will work beautifully for you, and who would know better than the actor who has been playing the role?
·Don't change a core character. You can certainly give them edges they didn't have before, or give them a logical reason to change their behavior. But when the audience says, "He would never do that," then you have failed.
·Build new characters slowly. Everyone knows that it takes six months to a year for an audience to care about a new character. Tie them in to existing characters. Don't shove them down the viewers' throats.
·If you feel staff changes are in order, look within the organization first. P&G [Procter & Gamble] does a lot of promoting from within. Almost all of our producers worked their way up from staff positions, and that means they know the show.
·Don't fire anyone for six months. I feel very deeply that you should look at the show's canvas before you do anything.
·Good soap opera is good storytelling. It's very simple.

You just destroyed a great family relationship with a single rewrite. Chelsea and her grandma had a nice bond. Now you have wrecked it with this terrible mess. Daniel and Chelsea can get past this. She definitely should be able to forgive him, but her grandmother? Not so much. I hope at least you will try to show the power of forgiveness in the face of true love. You have written Daniel and Chelsea as deeply connected. Don't wreck that too.

I am once again saddened by the personal attacks left on your message board. Constructive critisism is great but people need encouragement and new ideas from time to time. You have tried to learn the history of the show and have listened and brought back some wonderful history and characters from the past such as recently Doug and Julie, Kayla and Steve. Introducing Victor and Caroline again after all these years. Chelsea is a wonderful production of that pair and she has not let us down with all of her escapades. You have Kept some of our favorites such as Sammi, John and Marlena, Bo and Hope. It's great to see you pick up the familiar story lines of little Max and his Dad. It's been years since we've seen his history brought up again. He and Franki were such cute Brady Kids and taught us a lot about true family values, hardships and the Brady's. Trent is living up to his reputation that's for sure I'm just a little curious to know who Max's real mom is and why trent made her leave him. I thought Trent talked to Shawn Brady when he came to town to see little max and possibly take him back and Shawn told him to leave Max alone because he was better off with Shawn and Caroline. The new mysteries are fun too. Never a dull moment. Is Kate Max's Mom from her call girl days? I like the fact that the community has started to pull together again and work on improvements such as going green and helping the towns people during the power outage by supplying air conditioning and cool beverages. The new autism awareness scenes help us to be more aware of other families and the challenges they have. I like the way you have slowly introduced the story line back to centering around the hospital like it used to be with Tom and Alice, Bill, Marie, Marlena, Mike and April. I admit I am rooting for the new hospital couple Dan and Chelsea. There is an air of mystery surrounding Daniel. It's quite unlikely but could he possibly be Victor and Kates son from her wilder days and not a fling with Daniel? If not I hope Daniel fights for Chelsea and her forgiveness. I like the way you have slowly introduced new characters like Daniel and Morgan and slowly brought back some of our old ones like Tony and Anna, and Chloe-even without Brady, and even though he looks way different Trent as the villian. Look at how one of our core characters John changed at the hand of Stephano once again. It must be such a great experience for Drake to play a different story line for a change. I really miss John and Marlena but the new John is funny to watch. How does Drake feel about this new role? How about Max's new role? This whole roller coaster of new role reversals is intriguing. The new NBC promotions and commercials that are running right now will peak new peoples interest in watching Days. I hope the current crew of characters stays around for quite some time to come. They are a great group to watch. It is so hard to suddenly have favorite core characters like Belle and Shawn, etc. taken away. It kind of leaves us hanging out to dry and scratching our heads. Other than that keep up the terrific work! I've been a faithful Days viewer
for almost 40 years and plan to continue. Thanks for all of your hard work. Let us fans know what we can do to help.

Great post above. I wonder if many people here really even like Days at all? So mean and hostile. I think you are doing the great in the face of many pressures. I do think you could step up the loves stories though. Give each couple some happiness before you break them up. I am rooting for Marlena to learn to love new John, Philip and Morgan, and my personal favorite Daniel and Chelsea.

I too agree with the above post and also been a long time viewer of Days. For a while I felt like I was watching the old Days. The storylines were great, the families were interacting more and friends were giving each other advice. The writing was just amazing. Daniel and Chelsea's love story was being told with such realism. The connection between the two was instant. Not since Bo and Hope has a couple been able to capture my heart. Chelsea does remind me of a younger Hope to because she is fiesty and knows what she wants and will do anything to get it. Daniel and Chelsea and Bo and Hope are in someways one and the same. Daniel and Chelsea are updated version of Bo and Hope. Keep up the good work and try not let these negative comments get you down. Days has had some of the best writing since you took the job. And againg thank you for the wonderful love story of Daniel and Chelsea and I hope we get to see this couple grow and overcome all of their obstacles because they truly are amazing and the best couple on daytime tv right now.

I don't think trashing all of the couples is "doing great in the face of many pressures." I think it's massive suicide and stupidity. The ratings were recovering with EJ/SAMI and JOHN/MARLENA as the show's primary focus. Not only were they completely trashed but all of the other couples were too at the same time with the exception of Stephanie and Max. And if Melanie wasn't Max's sister, I'd be looking for STAX to get trashed by her too. This is far from a Summer of Romance, it's the Summer of Porn and that is what's reflected in the severe decline in DOOL's ratings in recent weeks. They deserve the crappy ratings in exchange for crapping on every couple fanbase for the show AT THE SAME TIME. With that said, I would at least be semi-happy to get an EJAMI story after making fans wait too long and losing ALL momentum in the storyline. I don't see anything "great" about DOOL this summer!

What the heck is going on? Kate? You have written such a beautiful love story with Daniel & Chelsea. Why are we going here with Kate? I understand it's just a soap but us housewives/mothers/longtimeviewers get extremly connected to these actors. We are the most dedicated,we watch everyday. These people almost become real to us. The relationship almost become real to us. The first time I saw the connection with Daniel & Chelsea, made me get butterflies in my stomach, butterflies. The last time that happen was when bo went after hope when she was about to marry larry. I know that soap opera's need drama but there is a way to do it without having everyone sleep around. I feel like this thing with Kate was thrown into the storyline. I don't feel it was the direction you were going because it doesn't make sense. Kates charactor would to this but not to chelsea, even if she fell in love with him it's totally out of charactor. We all know Kate would never do this to her granddaughter. I am very disappointed in this twist but I am hoping Daniel and Chelsea make it thru. They have too much chemistry to throw him into a thing with Kate. I honestly would like to know why you felt the need to write this fling into the Chelsea/Daniel storyline. It was such a well written story so far and now this. I liked it because it was different from anything else and now we get a rehash of last year. What is wrong with you guys? It really seems that you don't care at all what the fans want. Is it to much to ask to get a well written love story without adding some sleaze? In Rachel Melvin and Shawn Christian you have to wonderful actors who made this story work, there was no need to bring in a third person. If it's your goal to alienate every fanbase, I congratulate you on succeeding! This is very frustrating right now! Please give me a reason to continue watching! Give me Daniel and Chelsea!

I think Daniel should be Tommy Horton's son. That would make him a Horton and then we could get back to the Horton and Brady families. I Think Maybe Daniel and Kate Should be referring to some medical condition that only the two of them know about (as the "what happened between us" they don't want Chelsea to know about.)No fling should have happened with Kate and Daniel unless it happened when he was a lot younger say 15-20 years ago. Chelsea and Daniel belong together now.

I must say I really did not think you could destroy another one of my favorite shows and write so crapy yet again I thought after ABC One Life To Live you would learn something man some people mainly you never learn please please please read what you write then reread it as many times as you can before you get it right and put it on our screens, do reserch find the places writers be4 you screwed up and fix it.
GH Guza screwed fans over for many years but he always gives us a real good show and he fixes his mistakes we Liason fans waited 8years for them and we got them plus a Liason family, DOOL we Phloe Phillip And Chloe fans waited for a really long time and what the F*** do we get we get a vomit bag and a coffin you yet again destroyed what we love fix it or I will pray write do whatever it takes to make sure you never work for another show again and you know fans have that power and if you lose phloe fans you will lose big time.

I saw Monday's episode because I am in Canada. I am not sure I can believe it. I thought it was a bad joke. That was one fling that never needed to happen. Daniel and Chelsea had so many problems and obstacles already. You guys did not need to add her grandmother to the mix. I just read praise in the media about this storyline being refreshing because it was not a triangle. Guess you guys blew that. Way to go! Time to get back to basics --- Daniel and Chelsea together.

phloe is the only reason I watch this show to me DOOL= phloe and if there is no phloe philip and chloe and there is just discusting parings I will not watch... ashully I havent been watching for about 6 weeks now I only watch the philip and chloe scenes on the internet.. Hello. I Wish Philip and Chloe could be allowed to be together just once. Finally JKJ and Nadia are back on the show and things are just beginning to pick up, then we have Lucas/Chloe and Philip/Morgan to contend with. I don't understand why. All this effort to push, push, push Lucas/Chloe and Philip/Morgan surely proves they don't have what it takes. JKJ/NB have proven in the past and you see it right now - Phloe have the 'it' factor. If you just develop the romance it will pay off.

Ms. Higley I must say I loved the writing for EJ and Sami in the first half of May. And having seen the show for Monday, July 14th, I am just as pleased. EJ and Sami have such wonderful chemistry. Loving, teasing or fighting with EJ and Sami is a joy to watch. No one else comes close to that level of viewer satisfaction, for me. When I think of all the exciting storylines that could of the Brady/DiMera love story I just get so excited. Please continue to bring EJ and Sami closer and build the great romance I know will be the stuff other couples only can aspire to.

I agree with the other poster. Sami needs to stop her denial. Sami has to admit to herself how she feels about EJ. Instead of having all other characters voice what Sami is feeling, the audience needs to see this first-hand from Sami herself.

Hi Dena,would like to say that I m quite enjoying the Chelsea/Dan storyline to my surprise(have a bit of a sweet spot for Nick so I wasn't on board at first),I enjoy the way they interact with each other.There is a great soap opera dynamic at work there,I hope the writing for this couple can be kept lively and engaging,I enjoy Rachel Melvin's interpretation of Chelsea in this relationship.
I must add myself to the list of those looking to the Brady/Dimera romance between Sami and Ej-not only a fascinating and compelling storyline,but chemistry between two actors I have not seen on Days for years(I have been a fan over 20 years now)I hope you will write for these characters to allow James and Ali to take the screen together and create some more of those magical scenes where just a look can say so much...I could go on and on about this couple but I would hate to be accused of spamming(lol)
and please write for Aris's character too,would really love to see her have a story with characters Brady or Eric(yeah,add me to the bring back Eric brigade!miss ya Jensen!pity for us you moved on)as she really does interpret her character so very well..and it would certainly liven things up to have some of those characters in the current mix!!

You know what I'm tired of? Everyone on this blog worried about some character couple or the other. What is frustrating to me, is all of the talk about cutting out the use of fossil fuels. Not that I think green technology isn't great but there is the fact that remains-COAL powers probably all of your viewers televisions. You would not have many viewers if any without the cheaper and fairly clean use of coal. I work at a coal mine in wyoming and I have been very dissapointed to see that everyone forgets the fact that if coal/oil wasn't around many things that we take for granted would not be possible. Hell, without petroleum based products many of your actors would not even be able to put on make-up! I do love the idea of other sources of energy, don't get me wrong. I am just saying that people should not dismiss the things that have kept things going for soooo many years and the things that will keep us going for so many years to come. Thank you

I just wanted to say that I'm a 51 year old woman who has watched Days off & on since I was a teen. I've never written in to a tv show before.
I've watched all the so-called "super-couples" over the years...and I can honestly say that I have never enjoyed a couple's scenes and storyline the way that I have been enjoying "Ejami". Allison Sweeney has grown into a very good actress...but the chemistry between her and James Scott is simply wonderful to watch (which makes me think that James Scott has really upped Ali's game). This is the first time I have EVER recorded a soap daily to watch it at night. I applaud the writing staff and the actors for such a consistantly good job. Whether Sami and EJ are fighting or loving, they are such fun to watch. The point of soaps is supposed to be entertainment (HELLO, crazy Ejami fans)...and Ejami definitely keeps me entertained.

I just want to say this: I, for one, am truly enjoying the way that "Ejami" is being written. It wouldn't be satisfying if they just got together as quickly as some posters seem to want. (And yes, 2 years in Soap Time would be "quickly".) There are a lot of plot details to deal with (the characters' rape history, Sami's history with Lucas, etc.) and I think those details are being handled very thoughtfully and well. So what if the fans have to wait to get their wishes fulfilled? That's what soap operas are all about! And I, for one, certainly am not eager to watch Ejami attend the kids' soccer games or happily trudge off to the monthly PTA meeting. Hopefully, you read this as a bit of sanity in a crazy fan blog world.
On another note...a good friend of mine has recently been recast in a role on One Life to Live, (Madame Delphina....the local psychic)so I have been watching that show lately, and it has made me realize that NOT ALL SOAP OPERAS' HAIR AND MAKEUP ARE CREATED EQUAL (LY). I've always thought that the hair and makeup on DOOLs looked good...but I never realized before just how good, since I didn't watch a lot of other soaps. Congrats to the stylists on the show for the recognition they have received lately. They deserve it.

I love the way you are developing John, love the way you are now developing the relationship between EJ and John and I hope it evolves more. I also believe no is a good time to explore EJ's childhood- possibly EJ's mother, how he was raised by Stefano really delve into EJ's scarred psyche after all he has only been on the show for two years-we need character development.
Can you please, please, PLEASE end Lucas and Sami as a couple they are the worst couple I have ever seen on a soap not to mention the most boring. The constant grovelling that Sami does to Lucas is an insult to women. Where is Sami the girl who knew what she wanted and went after it? Can we please get Sami to admit she is in love with EJ-finally, please? It is taking to long-the one thing about Bold and the Beautiful and Young and the Restless both top rating soaps because they actually go forward and move fast. I don't have aproblem if EJ and Sami's relationship takes time to develop but we need to see Sami admit her feelings to herself. I do like the way you are now writing EJ a shade of grey character but not being too dark or evil-but please we need some continunity.

Once again, please end Lucas and Sami-end my suffering.

Thank you for the steps you've been taking to reunite Lucas & Sami. I know that you're coming under fire for it, but those of us who truly understand what's going on with the storylines can see what you're doing, and we thank you.
I'd still like to see EJ punished for the freezer truck incident - at the very least Sami needs to find out. Lucas fans need payoff for that. We've been waiting very patiently.

I really Hate all the Daniel did the granny stuff. Its just so freaking gross. Please find some way to fix this mess I want Daniel and Chelsea to be together.

Looks like the fan base war factions have bombed your blog. Sorry about that. Just wanted to let you know I enjoy your work. Keep it up just remember if you just tell the best story - viewers will come back. Days has the best actors on daytime time bar none give them good material, keep the stories moving. I want to give a special shout out to Drake and James, Stephen and MBE - excellent performances as of late. James has managed to rock every scene with every body. Drake and James seemed on par with the acting legends of the golden age of hollywood, their timing and chemistry was perfect. Love them as a comedic duo. James and Ali really were outstanding too.(I see a little bit of Rhett and Scarlett with those too) Stephen and MBE gave a moving performance about Ava. Brilliant stuff ... keep it coming!

I think one thing we can agree on...this is definitely not the summer of romance! Why do we watch soap operas? ROMANCE I don't want to see every Tom, Dick, Harry and Sue getting together for a little romp in an elevator, roof top, or where ever.

Hi Dena! Thanks for blogging with us! I am a new Days fan, since maybe about eight months ago, and my husband and I look forward to walking it every day.

I must say it's amazing how many faithful viewers there are out there and how positively passionate they are about the show. It's so refreshing to see fans that can identify with a character and find such enjoyment out of the show. It must make the cast, crew, the writers, producers, and yourself feel so wonderful that your creativity is causing such eloquent arguments, perpetual begging, hopelessly romantic commentary, and even some hopeful spammers (who probably have nothing else better to do then spam your blog ;).

Based on the loyalty of the fanbases, I think the viewership of Days would greatly increase if you actually started listening and incorporating beloved characters like Jarlena, Ejami, Phloe, Dansea etc.. together. Without us fans, you won't have a show and then Days will become a distant memory like Passions, and I'm sure every single person who posts on here wouldn't want to see that be the ending as I'm sure the cast wouldn't either.

The elevator scene between Nicole and EJ was absolutely almost pornographic, and I checked twice to see if I was actually not watching the Playboy Channel. Props to James and Ari for doing such an amazing performance however. I am tired of watching every single character's life be meddled into one new dramatic episode after another, and then when the dramatic situation occurs, something else affects that makes absolutely no sense. My question is, have you actually studied the history of the Days characters and do you actually know what you are writing about?

Samantha Brady was a vivacious, spunky, and independent woman, who has always been a bit of a trouble maker, but a girl that many of us could identify with. You've turned her into a pathetic, weak woman who spends her life running after a convict who would have sex with random sex vixens, instead of looking after his daughter. Reality check! Women today are empowered, and with the way you've made Sami's character so pathetic, what is that supposed to teach your female audience?

Oh yeah, run after deadbeat male convicts who selfishly have affairs in elevators instead of taking care of their offspring! Make sure you don't allow yourself to be loved by the man who actually has feelings for you with a steady job and who actually takes care of your children! Allow grandfather murderers to shack up with the family's son-in-law! Allow loving families like Steve and Kayla to never actually find happiness, but have some random hoe return after fifteen years, and then when they bring their pre-mature baby home from the family, have the random hoe live across the hall, and result with a mother and father yelling at each other, while a baby is supposed to be sleeping in a bassinet. Oh yeah, and have a nice guy like Philip, a war veteran nonetheless, become a murderer. And let's not forget our favourite new, improved change, turn Salem's bad boy, EJ, into a blithering, weak man who runs after Sami like a puppy who losts it's leash.

None of this makes sense and so much more, it's so unrealistic, and uninspiring, that I don't blame half the viewers for not tuning in. You have ruined the show, not just for me, but for every single Days fan who has loved the show since the 60's.

I hope the show changes before it makes fated to be like Passions. It would be so awful to see a show off the air because of crappy writing.

Dena, if we are all in this together why are you going out of your way to ruin the characters of EJ and Sami and ruin EJami? Wouldn't you like to see the cast and crew of DOOL keep their jobs? That can't happen if the drivel you are writing is chasing viewers away. We want real romance between characters we actually care about like EJ and Sami. Please put them together or I am going to bid a final farewell to DOOL. I have had as much crappy writing as I can take in my 13 years of watching. I'm not going to waste my time on a show that doesn't give their largest fanbases the rewards they deserve- putting Ejami together and letting them thrive.

this promo and what days of our lives has become all crap and stayed that way I hate morgan and her character.. JKJ has been been great in his scenes but still philip and JKJ have to be paired with this delusional character who seems to be completely unstable;when he should be paired with his onscreen half chloe who he has so much chemistry with. the character of Morgan hollinsworth; she has become a annoying character who has gotten on my nerves. this storyline seemed good when I read it on paper but seeing it was played completly the wrong way everything is wrong and seems very silly and wrong.. everything written on this soap is just so contrived and wrong someone fix it. since DOOL has become this way I have stopped watching days of our lives instead I have been watching OLTL and GH because unlike DOOL OLTL and GH have great stroylines and characters who are written correctly. and will continue not to watch days of our lives Dena higley has completely ruined the show I used to call my favorite.. she has thrown away chemistry and romance for sleezey, forced and contrived couples. she has upset all the fanbases and drove away all the fans to diff rent soap operas. I have not watched days for seven weeks and that has not bothered me at all.. I used to thrive to watch days of our lives for the couples I love phloe, lumi, jarlena but now the couples I love have been ruined by this terrible writer Dena higley who is terrible and needs to be given her pink slip as of right now she has runied to soap operas now that she has worked on OLTL and now My days of our lives.. Have the writers ever heard of MEANINGFUL FLASHBACKS? having a flashback that gives us no new infor into what the character is thinking is a WASTE OF TIME. Why are we not getting any hints as to what SAmi is thinking? Where are her flashbacks or how about EJ's flashbacks? How about even Lucas? The story is becoming BORING. I don't think I have ever watched DOOL where there have been so few flashbacks. Flashbacks should be used to show the viewers what the character is thinking but not communicating to the other characters on the show. Why are you showing flashbacks of things that don't matter. Please get a clue and let us into Sami and EJ's minds.

I've defended Dena & her team for way too long now. I'm sick of the garbage that is going on at DOOL right now. I'm 19 years old & I find all this summer crap BORING.

Ejole is the only reason that I watch the show. Finally, the show has paired up two individuals who have chemistry that is off the charts. Ejole offer such a vast amount of opportunity for storyline. Go for it.

Wow all these comments make me laugh so hard. What's so great about E.J. and Sammi? He's evil and she's just a confused mess. I do love that Steve and Kayla are back on the show now and that Max and Stephanie are starting to come into their own.

The only romance on the show is between Daniel and Chelsea, and that has been well done. You have one couple actually having a summer romance, now time to let the rest have some.

What a mess the show is right now and you know why? Complete ignorance to what the fans really want even though we're clearly spelling it out for you and we have been for 2 years. EJ and Sami TOGETHER, ROMANTIC and kicking butt all over Salem. That's what viewers want - why are you ignoring the ratings improvement seen during romantic EJami scenes? The ratings have tanked since the show started in on the Lumi and EJ/Nicole crap...yes CRAP. No one wants to see that. The only EJ pairing that could possibly have given EJami a true run for their money would have been EJ and Ava but you went for EJ and Nicole - 2 characters who have no chemistry together whatsoever just like Lucas and Sami. What is wrong with TPTB at Days that they refuse to write for the couple that has more chemistry than Bo and Hope? I'm not kidding - I'm a huge Bope fan but EJami have them beat by a country mile! Here's my suggestion, take it or leave it but I suggest you take it because it would help get you out of this ridiculous mess....


Bring back ERIC BRADY for Nicole - he was her one true love. He was her first choice and I think she was his way back when. I know he'll have to be recast but that's fine. The character is needed. When you bring him back, pair him with Ava (assuming Days is lucky enough to convince Tamara to stay) and then Nicole and Ava can become romantic rivals but for once, Nicole will be the one people are rooting for instead of rooting against. Right now, fans who used to LOVE Nicole (including myself) wish she'd just go away. I HATE that you've made me not enjoy the character of Nicole. She was one of my favorites. :( Anyway, Eric can save Nicole from Trent at which point he will fall back in love with her yada yada yada. EJ and Sami - well, the storyline possibilities are ENDLESS for them if some writer would just put them together already! Write in Ali's pregnancy and have Stefano kidnap Sami before Sami has a chance to tell EJ she's pregnant. EJ will, of course, go after her but perhaps when he finds her, she'll already be 6 months pregnant - imagine the amazing stuff you could write for Ali and James for the scenes when EJ finds Sami and finds out she's pregnant knowing it could only be his child! Then, of course, they get away, he enjoys being there for Sami for the last few months of her pregnancy and then just take the easy route and have Sami just be off screen during Ali's mat leave but not really out of the story - the way they did with Mickey for a long time. Either that or have Stefano kidnap Johnny now and have EJ and Sami go find him and rescue him and then when Stefano finds out Sami's pregnant, he waits until she gives birth and then kidnaps her and the new baby and this will explain Sami being off screen during Ali's mat leave and it gives EJ a huge storyline that still involves his love for Sami and his children with Sami.


And that's just one of many, many options for some great EJami stories that would definitely bring in and KEEP viewers.

Dena - ignore the "EJole" spammers. I'm sure you already know this but they are all just Lumi fans desperate to make you think there is actually support for EJ and Nicole so that Sami can go back and bore us to death with Lucas. Please listen to what the majority of fans want - EJami fans don't have to spam but Lumi fans have to pretend to support another fanbase just because they lost the war against EJami last year. At least EJami fans are consistent - we always show our support for the couple we WANT not throw our phony support against another couple or better still, campaign against the couple we don't want. Some fans just need to grow up and accept that EJami fans are passionate and there are a lot of us so there will be a lot of comments from EJami fans on blogs like this. Bottom line - listen to the ratings!! The ratings will tell you what you need to know and the ratings SUCK right now so that should tell you loud and clear whether or not "EJole" works. Go check out the ratings leading up to and during May sweeps. You'll see they were a lot higher and the primary reason was the fact that EJami was being written in such a way that made fans believe that the show was finally going to give them a chance. You did, they had the greatest love scene ever and then absolute disaster. Also, check the ratings for the summer and early fall 2006 when EJami were last written as romantic....the ratings were awesome! Fast forward to EJami being completely destroyed by Hogan and the ratings tanked. There is a pattern here and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see it.

I am reading these blogs and seems you got your hands full. Being an Ejami fan I agree with The Ejami blogs. Why start them if they are not going to be end game? They are certainly your gold mine, yet they still are not together. If you ever want the ratings to go up then hook Ejami up once and for all and let it be bc Sami admits to him she does love him. Nicole is like poison for Ej. zero chemistry for the two of them.Why white wash Nicole. Do you think we forget the rotten things she has done in life? And she doesn't want Ej for love, she wants him to hurt Sami. I got that from the elevator scene when she was imagining her and Ej married. God forbid.I'm quite sure the other soaps are wondering "what the h3ll is Dena doing?" I'm sure they would have had Ejami together a year ago. You have been unfair to the Ejami fanbase. By the way, I have watched Dats for 23 years now and never went to bat for any other couple, but Ej and Sami Thank you and please let the two of them get together and be happy together for more than one day.

Personally I don't have a problem with E.J. and Sami as a couple cause obviously both the actors playing those two characters have a lot of charisma but I do find all the posts about it a little strange as if there's nothing else of interest on the show, which is just silly considering the caliber of the rest of the cast. Nobody does super couples like Days and it's at a new high in a lot of ways but its ratings don't only depend on E.J. and Sami storylines, at least I can't think why it would with so much other great stuff going on too.

Forever an Ejami supporter here, but I disagree with Cassandra that Ejammers support only their couple, and ignore all other storylines. I am a huge supporter of nuJohn, and also beginning to like Daniel and Chelsea. Philip can do no wrong in my book, him with ANYBODY is hot!! The Bo / Philip storyline is really interesting, also. I am thrilled that Stefano is returning..smart move!! However, back to Ejami. I think I see the direction that this is going, and I am hopeful, but I also really hope that the endgame is Ejami. They belong together. These two actors (James Scott and Allison Sweeney) have a chemistry unseen in soaps until they were paired. I watch the two of them with other possibilities, and it is just so empty. Please...play out the current storyline, but I sure hope you take the right fork in the road to bringing EJ and Sami back together.

Love the new John, love Tony and I love them even more when they interact with EJ. Hopefully, there may be some genuine mutual fondness between John and EJ. Would love to see some of EJ's childhood explored and his realtionship with his mother. James Scott is unequivocally, the best leading man on television-a wonderful talent.

By the way, in case you've forgotten, when the ratings were going up in January, there were quite a few things that were different. 1. Shawn and Belle were still around. 2. Phloe fans had reason to be hopeful, and Morgan was not in the picture. 3. John and Marlena fans were happy, and Ava was not in the picture. 4. Chelsea and Nick were still together. Dr. Dan was not in the picture. (I realize that that's not really a triangle..) 5. Bo and Hope had an interesting storyline that was about them. 6. So did Steve and Kayla. 7. Ejami and Lumi fans both had reason to be happy--and the show survived with both of them on the backburner...But notice that Nicole and Chloe were not in the picture. 8. And, airtime, in general, was a lot more balanced...

Cassandra, I hope you don't mind me commenting on your point. The reason so many people talk about EJami all the time isn't because they don't care about the rest of the show - it is because that is the one storyline that many fans feel the writers are not doing justice and it is the one storyline that many fans prefer over the others. I can only really speak for myself but I love Dan/Chelsea, I love nuJohn, I love Ava (but not with nuJohn), I love Bo/Hope, I love Morgan/Philip and I love Lucas away from Sami (whether in a relationship with another woman or just on his own getting his act together and being a kick butt single father). For me, though, the horrible way EJami has been written really puts a damper on my enjoyment of the show overall to the point where I dread scenes with EJami because I figure it will be more of the same. I was pleasantly surprised by the lead up to the EJami love scene in May - it exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately, it really was too good to be true - they weren't even out of bed before we were back on the "EJamicus" roller coaster that no one enjoyed in 2007 but with a new element turning it into the "EJamicusole" quad. People here focus on EJami because that's the story that they want fixed more than any other. That's the story that will bring in and keep new viewers if it is handled well and the ratings over the past 2 years DO support that no matter what kind of spin some people attempt to put on them. It is about EJami being the favourite storyline of the majority of viewers and when EJami is being written well like it was in April/May, EJami fans find themselves enjoying everything a lot more. Right now, we dread every scene with Roman and Marlena because we are sick of hearing the Lucas propping and Lumi propping. We dread scenes with Sami because we are sick of her "twu wub" talk about Lucas even after he moves on with someone else. We dread scenes with EJ because we don't want to see him moving on with a woman who has been so horrible to Sami over the years. We dread scenes with Nicole because we don't want to hear her crap about how she is falling for EJ especially when the actors have zero chemistry together. The EJami storyline has infiltrated into so many other storylines and the worse it is written, the less entertaining all of the storylines become. My favourite shows lately have centred around Daniel and Chelsea, Bo and Hope, Doug and Julie and nuJohn. I hate that the show has made me dread watching my favourite characters rather than rush home from work to watch them as I was doing in May this year and during the summer of 2006.

I sure wish you hadn't wrecked Daniel and Chelsea with wicked ole Kate.

Hope you fix this mess. It stinks having to make Daniel lie to Chelsea like this.

I just don't understand. If you really wanted a "Summer of Love" why not tell the story of Philip and Chloe falling in love all over again? They both had failed marriages to Black-DiMeras, they have a history together and their chemistry is amazing. You could use their song, "I Need You" in scenes and there a lots of flashbacks you could use. PHLOE is the love story I want to see!

I don't care for Phloe at all - I think Philip and Morgan have a lot more chemistry and potential. Someone mentioned bringing Eric back - maybe a Chloe/Eric/Nicole triangle would heat things up in Salem....

And for goodness sake, let Lumi get back together before Christmas! They should have been together last year for their first Christmas together as a family. We were all sooooo excited for Sami and the twins to get their ornaments on the Horton tree - PLEASE let it happen this year!

James Scott and Arianne Zuker are your best young actors on the show and have amazing chemistry. I'm glad that TPTB finally got something right and paired EJ and Nicole together.

This summer of porn just doesn't do it for me - I prefer the romance. For example EJ and Samantha looking into each other's eyes can keep me rivited to the tv screen forever. Porn in an elevator just doesn't constitute romance (skipped that epi thanks). Watching soap couples the viewer gets very involved with their favourite characters and just throwing a couple together to see if anything sticks is not the way to write a great story.
Here's hoping that you are working toward true romance.

I am so happy that finally the character of EJ is out of Sammi's orbit. There is NO real romance and there never was a romance with Sammi and EJ, Sammi has always loved Lucas but after two years it was time that both men leave her and find other people (she played enough head games with both), enters Nicole and Chloe. I LOVE EJ and Nicole, finally a couple the viewers can root. I want to see more EJ and Nicole, slowly they will fall in love. I have noticed an increase number of fans loving this wonderful couple and I hope if you decide to reunite Sammi and EJ that he will realised that he has fallen in love with Nicole and what he had with Sammi was an obsession; decides to leave her and reunite with his true soulmate which is our beloved Nicole. Ari and James on-screen chemistry is amazing. Great job on this pairing!!!! I am also loving Chloe and Lucas as well.

I have been watching Days for 15 years & am becoming disappointed with the show. I wish they would bring the old John back or at least let him remember the great love between he and Marlena, I want John & Marlena backe together. Also its time for Sami & Lucas to part ways and put Sami & EJ together-they have great chemistry and Sami & Lucas is played out. Lucas would be cute with Chloe, and Philip with Morgan. I like Dan & Chelsea,but hate that Dan had to do granny. Hopefully victor won't die and he and caroline can be together, its obvious they have always had something between them, besides Bo. I wish you wouldn't drag out storylines for years & years, like how long it took Marlena & John to be together or Shawn & Belle or even Carey & Austin. give the viewers what we want happy endings, since that doesn't always happen in real life. Those who have been critisizing, can you please give Dena a break? You've got to be patient. I really like EJami too and I'm sure that soon enough they'll get together.
My fav couple is Phloe - I loved those 2 since they were teenagers, their chemistry is crazy!!! - and I know the storyline hasn't been about their relationship lately & Lucas & Morgan are just driving them further away from each other, but I'm sure Dena has something great in store for them, just like EJami!! So watch, pay attention, they can't all of sudden get together that easily. The characters have to develop their relationship slowly.

Btw I love Nicole. She's my fav days character. Don't change her, I love how she finally has such feelings for somebody and the way she handles them. She's such a real and funny character. Watching her in the foodfight scene. I would love to see more of Sami, Nicole & Chloe together. Their scene was hilarious. They're great together. I love them!!!
And I love Chloe - how she has become tougher, but with both her & Nicole you can see their feelings now, it makes them so real.

Oh & I really hope the old John doesn't come back, I prefer the new one.

I can't believe that anybody thinks that Steve and Kayla are played out since they are so tremendous together and they hardly get any airtime compared to the other couples. I think it's good that Phillip and Morgan might be heating up again and the new RoboJohn and his precious mansion are even starting to grow on me. Keep up the good work folks. Peace out.
