James Scott's Blog

Well the last blog entry (yes I know it was a long time ago) certainly seemed to generate some discussion – some positive, some negative – all certainly interesting. I am not sure as to the protocol for responding to these ‘posts’ as reading them there were a few thoughts that came to mind. Nonetheless, I was very surprised and happy to read so many well-considered comments on such a range of issues from SoapNet to spirituality – all on a DOOL blog, who would have thought!

Firstly I apologize for taking such a long time in writing this, time is a commodity I have little of but I am going to make a point of pushing this further up my to-do list as when I get to it I really do quite enjoy blogging. Again, not being much of a blogging expert I am still scratching my head as to what I should write.

I have done a little traveling since my last entry to both South America and Madagascar. Both projects there moving forward well and I offer a few more details as things move forward, for the time being here are a few pics I took along the way:

james_scott_1.jpg

This picture was taken in March and I am half way through a long hike down to the community we are going to visit located in the jungles of Bolivia. The road was taken out by a landslide (for the second time – the first trip through the jungle, we had to climb down to a river with our equipment and take a dugout canoe to the nearest village) so we had to walk down through the thick vegetation and cacophony of insects. Which was amazing.

james_scott_2.jpg

Eventually we made it down to this river, which we followed for a couple of miles to the camp.

james_scott_3.jpg

This picture was also taken in March. This amazing smiling girl was amongst a group of children I met when visiting a dumping ground near a market in Mahjunga, Madagascar. They were collecting old tires and bicycle inner tubes to make into imaginary toys. I am often struck by the strength of the imagination and creativity of children in some of the most difficult areas of the world and am continuously inspired by their positive outlook, smiles and resilience.

On a final thought with the recent celebration of Earth Day we were encouraged to consider the planet and our relationship to it and our ability to impact it both for good and bad. An event of global consciousness is being reborn and this is good. I say reborn as it is important to understand that we are not forming a new relationship with our environment rather we are reconnecting to something lost.

Our collective planet, for it is one every living being must all share to survive, represents not only the sustenance of life but the value of life itself. To exist without the tranquility of nature and our neighbors the plants and animals would be so unbearably bleak and lonely as to not amount to any existence at all, or none worth having.

It is this value of life that I believe is so important and so lost. We have found through the mastery and manipulation of nature, a means to separate and control this, the very sustenance of life. Today almost without exception, our basic needs for daily survival can be and are provided as much in factories as in farms (or in some hybrid thereof). The net effect of this has been to dissolve our once precious balance with nature and to empower us with an undeserved and utterly false sense of mastery.

Whilst one can retrace the history of America back to an indigenous population whose understanding of the balance of nature was central to their culture and social order we do not have to look back more than a couple of generations to see a time when America was itself a predominantly rural country, with most communities embedded in the heart of nature. Such exposure brings both conscious and unconscious awareness. In 2007 for the first time in the history of our civilization, a majority of the inhabitants of the world resided in cities. One has to ask oneself how can one protect that which you do not and may never know. The answers are not ahead of us. They are behind us, weaved in a past we must remember for our future.

I leave you with nine simple words and one line worth remembering:

“Nature never did betray the heart that loved her”

William Wordsworth 1798

What a thought-provoking blog. I'm continually impressed with your commitment to the environment and the desire to reconnect with nature. You are an inspiration. I love the quote, and those are truly words to live by. Considering the age in which we live - it always amazes me how we as humans are closer via our communication on the internet...yet as isolated as never before. I have met wonderful friends because of my interest in DAYS and in your storyline in particular. You have the power to touch and inspire people, and I am impressed that you choose to use it in such a positive way. Kudos to you. I look forward to reading more from you.

James - glad to see you are blogging again. Your post was fascinating - I really enjoyed reading it. I am very impressed and inspired by your dedication to the environment. Did you take the picture of the little girl? WOW. What a great shot. I am an avid photographer myself.
I live in Canada where we get the episodes of Days a day early and had the pleasure of seeing your scenes with Ali surrounding the resolution of 12/29/06 today. The scenes were absolutely brilliant and I was so impressed with the dialogue, acting, everything. You were amazing. I am thrilled EJ & Sami are embarking on a new relationship and can't wait to see where it goes. I also just wanted to say I think your acting is always captivating, and I think the Emmys were crazy as you not only should have been nominated, but you should have won. Sincerely, Jennifer (scarlett1977 at forbidden love)

When i honestly thought i couldnt love James Scott more than i already do, i once again get blown away. Keep up the great work James! your acting ability astounds me each time i see you on screen. Your passion for the environment is truly inspiring! thank you so much for taking the time to blog your travels and your thoughts for us.

You are truly a wonderful man! I enjoy your blog. You always leave me with food for thought! I enjoy your work on screen and off! Best Wishes!

James I have to say you truly inspire me. You tireless efforts to change the world and help people to see it as it is supposed to be is wonderful. I love the way you use your celebrity to create awareness. You truly are captivating not because you are a very handsome gentleman but because your heart and love for people shines through.

(Speechless at EJummyluv & Forbidden love)

with all the love a fan can have, Tricky

Good to see you are blogging again James and that you enjoyed reading the comments from your last blog. LOL. Sounds like you had a very interesting journey in Madagascar and South America. I admire your passion, commitment and devotion to the environment and our mother, the Earth. I agree, it is the duty of every soul on this planet to help create a sustainable future and to ensure the longevity of our communities and cities. I really love the EJami storyline lately. You and Alison have been doing a wonderful job and have made Days enjoyable and fun to watch again.

James,
I am so happy to see that you blogged again. I know that some of the comments were negative but I'm glad that you did not let the few ruin it for the many.
James, you are truly an inspiration. I love the fact that you use your celebrity for something positive! I loved your entry and it was certainly inspiring!
Thank you for the great EJami scenes! We at Forbidden Love are looking forward to EJami coming together!

So great to see you blogging again, James! You always give us such great food for thought and I enjoy reading your insights. Your passion about such things as the environment really is an inspiration to so many of us. It is true that we need to refocus on what truly matters in life, and we can no longer afford to ignore and neglect the consequences of much of which we take for granted every day. I'm sure the awareness you and so many others are creating and reinforcing is undoubtedly having and will continue to have a positive rippling effect to so many.

Anyways, still love, love, loving EJ Dimera on Days. You always give your all into your performances and it shows. I'm excited about the upcoming stuff with EJAMI (sounds fantastic!) and can't wait to see what lies in store for EJ this summer! Keep up the good work!

James -- I'm so happy that you're blogging again. And thank you for sharing those photos -- they are beautiful. I especially love the photo of the little girl. Your blog does give me a lot to think about as far as my relationship to the planet goes. I love Wordsworth quote.

Also want to add that I love your work on Days as EJ. You've created one of the most fascinating characters I've ever seen on a soap. I love the story of EJ and Sami and am grateful that it is moving forward. Your work on the 5/15 US episode (I was lucky enough to see it today early) was stellar. You and Ali really touched my heart and reminded me once again why you two make Days a must see for me. Thank you so much for giving us, the fans, something to enjoy and look forward to. Keep up with the blog!!!

Sincerely,
Vernettia (aka Miou07 at Forbidden Love)

Your blog entries are always so wonderful, and inspiring! The work that you do definently inspires me to do more for the environment. I am trying to go as Green as I can at the moment, not only for the health of our planet but for the health of my family. Thank you for the pictures of your travels it looks amazing and it probably is an amazing feeling to realize what good you are doing in this world!

On a side note, I am also in Canada and have just watched today's episode where EJ and Sami talk about "that night", and it truley was a great episode. Your acting ability astounds me, the emotion you can show and vulnerability is off the charts! Both you and Ali did a wonderful job.

Again thank you for the great blog, and keep up the wonderful work you do both on and off of the screen!

Jessica - JSfaninCanada - Forbidden Love Memeber: EJami supporter :)

You are truly an inspiration in how you live your life and a joy to watch as a performer. Thank you so much for sharing about your journey and the work you are doing. Those pictures are fabulous! Forget James Bond, you could be the next Indiana Jones! LOL

Anyway, I am in Canada and I just watched your performance in "the EJ and Sami talk" episode and I was blown away and then, I come here and read that you have shared with us, so articulately, a passion for a greater good encouraging everyone to become more educated and involved in something so much more important than a 1 hour soap opera. I love my DOOL as it provides the welcome escape I need after a long day at work but being a Days fan no more defines any of us than playing EJ defines you and my respect and admiration for you grows every time you share a little piece of yourself with us. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

That's a wonderful quote - my Mom ran a poetry website (she was an English teacher) before she passed away a few years ago and Wordsworth was one of her favourites. In keeping with the spirit of your blog, here is a quote about the beauty of nature from a Whitman work that my Mom pointed me towards in the months before she passed (to this day, I'm still not sure why):

"I believe a leaf of grass is no less than the journey work of the stars." ~Walt Whitman

James you are truly an inspiration to care so for our planet. Your pictures were awesome. Thanks for blogging. You are an amazing actor, love to watch all your facial expressions as well as your hands. Your scenes with Ally are wonderful, you sizzle together, remind me of Tracy and Hepburn of yore. Glad you did a scene covering 12/29, really very well done. I could love you if you threw ice picks at old ladies, you are that awesome. Hopefully we will get a total EJami here on out and also maybe you could squeeze in another tango scene. Would love to see you on Dancing with the Stars.
Annie from Soapoperaforum.com

please blog again soon.

Wow, I am so happy to have another blog entry by you. Your commitment to charity and our environment inspires me. I so hope you continue to blog here, I enjoy them tremendously. Your work on the show is wonderful, EJ has become my favorite male role on the show (well next to Stefano haha). Your work is great, and you dedication shows threw with every scene you do. Thank you so much for everything you do with the character of EJ. I am so glad they are giving him and Sami a chance.

Hello James! Thank you for taking time out of your obviously busy schedule to share a personal part of your lives with your fans. It is never expected but always appreciated. You continuously amaze me with not only your appreciation, but your vast knowledge of the entire world around you. I personally can relate to your comments about rural areas changing in this country. The community I've lived in for the past 9 years has gone from over 90% farming community to about 30%. There are 4 lane roads where farms and fields used to be within a mile of our home. I am missing the simpler place my town used to be. On a completely different note, I am truly impressed with your work on Days as of late. You have been given a wonderful storyline with Ali (finally!) and I am enjoying every moment of it! Thanks again for making time for fans...we always appreciate it!!

asecretikeep (forbidden love)

Good Evening James - Glad to have you back blogging. I very much enjoy reading about your travels and projects. Its wonderful that you have so much depth, with your obvious intelligence, business sense, passion for the environment, poetry, and of course your ability to make all of us EJami's swoon just by showing up! I absolutely love the EJ/Sami storyline and am very glad to hear that the storyline debacle of December 2006 is being put to rest in a respectful way. You and Ali have such chemistry on screen. It is what is saving DOOL in my opinion. Please keep blogging, I love to read about what you're up to. Take care - Julie

James,
Wow I am glad to see your new blog. I think it is your dedication to the environment is truly amazing. I love the quote you posted "Nature never did betray the heart that loved her". I will remember that. I think your are incredibly talented actor. I'm a huge fan Ejami fan. I've been watching Days since I 12years old and now I'm 25. So as you know I've been tuning in for a while now and I have to say now the only reason I tune into Days faithfully is to watch you and Ali. I just wanted to say great work! I loved the way you portray Ej Wells. OMG! I thought I was going to die on a current episode of Days when Ej told Sami "what are you gonna do?" And then she kissed him..PRICELESS! You nailed that! It was perfect!
Your Fan- Jamie (Jgrlejami)

Keep up the great work on Days - I was disappointed that you didn't get the Emmy nom, but at least you were recognized by the media. I'm loving the Sami/EJ storyline right now. Can't wait to see more! Michelle (mbannio on Forbidden Love and EJummyluv)

What a nice second entry in your blog James. It seems you have thought much about the things which most of take for granted and fail to appreciate. Thanks for sharing your love of the natural world and your concern for it. I'm so glad you were brave enough to venture back here. Many of your fans enjoy hearing from you. I know I do.

James, Thank you for your truly inspirational work for Urth and sharing pictures with us. It is quite a tribute to your upbringing that you are such a wonderful humanitarian. You should be so proud of yourself and all you do!!

I love your character on Days and wish you all the best in all your endeavors!

Hi James! Thanks so much for blogging with us. Your words are so powerful, engaging, and thought-provoking!!

Comparing naturalized civilizations to how much we rely on multicultural city centers now was probably not what our ancestors would have predicted we would be like. Being from Canada, there are so many rural communities that are left undiscovered because most of population commute, or live in the large metropolises. Our populations are relying more and more on unnatural means of survival, instead of harmonizing with the earth. It's very interesting that you pointed out much of our food supply comes from farms.

It's so important that we educate ourselves about the devastation that humans had done to impact the crisis of our environment. However, awareness and education are keys to having nature co-exist with the human race, and it's wonderful that you and other members of our society are doing an unexceptional job in finding the solution. The solution that could be a key to unlocking the secret that would bring Mother's Nature's beauty back to what she always thought it would be.

The picture of the little girl is adorable. I think about all the blessings I have in my life and things that stress me out, and seeing that smiling face reminds me of what is important in life. Children are exuberant. I have taught children from all over the world, and learn about so many diverse cultures, but one element that every child exudes is, is an ability to evoke imagination and creativity, and that if we took a moment to look through a child's eyes, we could see how amazing life is and appreciate it in a whole new way!

Keep up all the inspiring work you do! You inspire others to make a difference!

Cheers, SarahBrady (From FL):)

James, I am so thrilled to see you have a new blog! Thank you for sharing your pictures and stories of your travels! I think you are an amazing soul!! I also think you are an amazing actor!! You're the best on all of daytime, for sure!! Your chemistry with Alison Sweeney is off the charts as Ej and Sami. I'm looking fwd to a great romance for your characters. I'm also looking fwd to your next blog!! Love you, James!!

Maddy :^)

Wow, with all your other activities it makes me wonder how you fit 'Days' into your schedule. It makes me happy to be able to say that one of my favourite actors use their off time for such worthwhile projects - hopefully it will be inspirational for us North Americans to get a grip on our impact on the planet. Our house has certainly changed for the better as I'm sure many have with our children's future at stake.
Looking at your photographs made me think of a quote from my favourite - W. Somerset Maugham “Every production of an artist should be the expression of an adventure of his soul.” - I believe you have captured this.

James - Thanks for another great, thought-provoking blog! It's wonderful of you to share some of your experiences and efforts to make the world a better place. You're a great inspiration! :]

James,

I first want to say THANK YOU so much for blogging again. I know that you are busy with your personal life and we really appreciate that you take the time to feed your hungry fans. LOL Your trip sounds like it was very rewarding and an amazing experience.
Keep up the great work you do on and off the screen!
Best wishes,

Okay, I tried to post twice, but neither came up. Hopefully this won't post multiple times!... Great blog, James! It's interesting how you note most of us live far from nature now and live mostly in cities. Your comments reminded me of a series of books I read by Terri Blackstock (the first one is "Last Light"), in which suddenly everything electrical in the U.S. stops working. People have to go back to farming/nature to learn to survive. Needless to say, they do not do well. I personally think it's kind of scary that few of us could actually survive if we had to live off the land like our forefathers. All I know how to do is shop at the store and cook whatever I bring home. What would happen if those supply chains weren't in place? I guess then we'd see how civilized we really are.

Thanks for your thought provoking blog.
Jen/Dreamweaver123

Thank you so much for sharing your pictures and your adventures with us. I also enjoyed reading your thoughts on our environment and how it is in the past that we may find solutions. I live in an area where there are still many Amish farms. (In case you aren't familiar, the old order Amish live without many modern conveniences such as automobiles.) It has always been a comfort to me to see that their lifestyle can still exist in this day and age and that if we had to live without all the modern conveniences that we have, life would not be so bad. (I'd probably miss this computer the most. LOL)

James,
Its wonderful to hear from you again. Many of us wondered if you got scared away by the more negative posts. (ignore anymore that pop up, cause you know they will, some people do not understand you are not really EJ, lol)

Thank you for sharing your pictures and tales of your travels with us. Its very inspiring for me to do more to help this planet, mostly for my own children and one day their children.

Your portrayal of EJ is very enjoyable. I love that EJ and Sami are finally getting on better with each other.
Your scenes today with "the talk" were very moving. I had tears in my eyes. You did an amazing job.
take care.
S....

I am so thrilled you are blogging again! I love reading your thoughts and that you are doing so many things for society. It is easy to say what people'should' do and another to actually live your words.

Thank you so much for making the world a better place!

And all the best to you!

Loved watching you and sami getting closer.Loved the Talk too and as usual you were amazing.

James, there is so much to be said about your blog. I can't begin to express how deeply touched and inspired I am by your words and wisdom (and at such a young age). I find your blog to be one of the most powerful. Mother nature is lucky to have you on her side. If it matters, you have motivated one more person (that would be me) to take the time and initiative to walk on in life trying to make a difference now and for future generations. P.S. Your work on DOOL has captivated me like no other (and I've been watching for nearly 25 years). I wish you TIME to do everything your heart desires.

James thanks for the very inspiring post. I have been a supporter of trying to do things to save our planet since I was a kid. I did a huge Earth Day recycling project for my pre-school class and the kids really enjoyed it. I even wrote a story about it at FL to share how proud I was of the children and the parents. Thanks so much for everything you do. Your an inspiration for me and my children to make better choices. I just wanted to add how much I have been enjoying the EJami story lately. Todays Episode in Canada was incredible and I think it's definitely Emmy material for both you and Ali. Take care James!

Wow, what an awesome blog. Thank you for sharing that with us. It looks really peaceful at that river. You are a busy man. I love watching you as EJ. I am getting into reading all these new blogs lately. I really enjoyed reading yours. Hope you blog again soon.
Rhonda

Hi James! Thanks so much for blogging with your fans. I'm so happy that you're doing all these wonderful things. Keep it up! I'm such a huge support of the go green thing. So glad you're helping our planet. You're doing such an amazing job helping other people in other countries. This is really nice and kind of you. You're someone who I would look up to as a role model. Keep up the excellent work and thanks for everything. :)

Rakesh

Thank you for sharing this personal viewpoint with us! I am waiting anxiously to see the way you and Ali play these emotional scenes coming up, and please let Dena know her work that is making these scenes that you and Ali get to shine in is phenomenal.

Your insights as you meet these peoples who as you say find a way to celebrate the gifts of life make such an impact on people like me who are in such comfortable existences. My good friend Seuth sent a gift to you that also showed how life was celebrated within her Cambodian Village before a war came and uprooted her and her families existence. She has left us, but I have heard that you have the cloth hanging in the Urth office..I hope when you and others look at it, a part of Seuth is shared with you. She was a wonderful soul, and loved her some EJ!

For someone that modestly claims to be clueless when it comes to blogging, you certainly have a knack for it! I have been a fan of yours since your first episode on DOOL, but every time you lend your time to an interview or blog, I am blown away by both your witty humor and your intelligence. I think you should consider writing at least one book! I'm not blowing smoke up your ass, I think you have much more talent for writing and expressing thought than you give yourself credit for!

As far as your recent trip...you are an amazing human being. What lucky little children to come across your path, and how lucky you are to be able to make a difference in a child's life in such a way. What an incredible experience!

Thanks so much for sharing!! Looking forward to more blogs!!! (I'm sure you had some thoughts on some of the last comments....I did, too!)

It is great to see people who care! You seem like a great guy.
Angi AKA Princessah

Thanks for taking the time out of your life to let us see a little of what you do when your not on the set of Days. I loved the pictures. I admire all the work that you do through Urth. Please keep up the blogging.

Dear James,

I greatly appreciated your post, rather ponderings that touched on the natural world versus that of our built environment, sustainability, people and cities. I found your last paragraph intriguing, and thought I would comment on it, as I am an urbanist invested in the “just sustainable” theoretical paradigm, based off of the environmental justice movement as a means to inform the built form of cities.

I was fortunate enough to have attended the 2007 World Urban Forum held in Vancouver, a city that has been heralded as the “urban laboratory” for sustainability. What I witnessed and learned from WUF, was that the North is very much in denial over its affects on the South. As well, I walked away from the forum with the notion that unless we can ensure that sustainability and its application in cities is just and equitable for all, then we can never begin to redress the wrongs that we have wrought on this earth.

You are correct that it is estimated that over 70% of the world’s population lives in cities. With the advent of peak oil on the fore of climate change – I think it is important to put some of your statement into perspective. While you are correct, and are in line with the thinking of bio-regionalists, I do think that it is important not to malign the urban form. Yes, given the probability of peak oil and our over consumptive natures, we will most likely revert to the natural world however, that will not necessarily mean that we will be sustainable. Going back to nature and celebrating its gifts while a laudable concept would simply be impractical.

Cities, have the potential of being the most sustainable places just because they are not green does not mean that they are unsustainable. What makes sustainability problematic for cities and their ‘inhabitants’ is the lack of emphasis that is placed on “just” or “equitable” sustainability – the social foot of the four legged stool (environmental, economic, culture and social). Currently, the world exists in a model of sustainable policy development that over emphasizes the economic and environmental elements of sustainability, leaving at the wayside human beings and the “need to ensure a better quality of life for all, from now and into the future, in a just and equitable manner, while living within the limits of supporting ecosystems” (Aygeman). Unless sustainable development in cities start with the causes of environmental degradation – social injustice, rather then beginning with environmental or economic instability, then no city can be sustainable. (ibid)

Thank you so much for taking time from your hectic schedule to update your blog. Those photos were amazing and left me wanting for more! Perhaps you will one day create your own website. Your fans would really love that. I especially loved the photo of the little girl. It never ceases to amaze me when I see the most brilliant smiles on the faces of children who live in the most abject poverty, be it in Africa or our own United States. They’re running around, squealing and playing with something as simple as a rope or branch and they’re joyous! It’s like looking into the face of God.

I’ve traced my ancestors back (on all sides) to the last two hundred years and beyond and whether it be England, Ireland, Scotland or Sweden, they were all farmers and lived a very simple life. One only needs to read a will from one hundred and fifty years ago to understand the simple things that were valued by our forefathers. My, how things have changed. We think we’re so smart and here we are…destroying the planet.

In closing, this is my favorite part of your blog. “To exist without the tranquility of nature and our neighbors the plants and animals would be so unbearably bleak and lonely as to not amount to any existence at all, or none worth having.”

I love you more with each passing day, James Scott. Please visit us often.

I never ever thought Tom Cruise ,or Brad Pitt were good looking at all.... still don't, and I have never had a celebrity crush... until YOU. Your just a hottie and You and Ali are awesome I am so glad that Ejami may get a chance at LOVE . Sami and EJ do belong together you Guys are absolute MAGIC

I forgot to add in my post, I love SHADES OF GAY EJ!

james i just wanted to say, i wrote something really nice to you in your first blog for us, i adore you and all that you do from your acting, to your company, to your humanitarian efforts, i wish you all the happiness the world has to offer, i am sorry that a few very rude people had to ruin it for the rest of us, YOU ARE AMAZING JAMES!!! ROCK ON!!! and the picture in the middle looks like places i have dreamed of, thanks for sharing

just a fan, Alexis

Hi James,
I am so glad to hear from you again, I love to hear about your latest travels to South America and Madagascar the trip sounded amazing and the people you met sounded great. I love the photos especially the one of the little girl that was a great shot you can tell how happy she is. You are fine human being using your celebrity to help the environment, I also trying to do my part to help the environment too. Plus I am happy to hear that you did not get sick this time around like you did last time you went Madagascar when you caught Malaria so I am glad you came back more healthier this time around. Now on a lighter note I am so glad that you and Ali finally got a good storyline and EJ and Sami are finally getting together. I really like you and Ali together you two have amazing chemistry together and I also like you and Ari Zucker you also have really good chemistry with her as well I love the steam room scenes with her they were hot, but I got to admire EJ he showed he has will power he did not cross that line even though I would not blame him if he did after all EJ has not had sex in a 1 1/2 yrs I mean after all the marriage is in name only. Like Sami has said time and time again. I like that Grey EJ is back and I know you are glad too since you like playing EJ this way alot more than just the goody goody all the time I also like the fact that the old Sami is back with a little help from Nicole for at least the time being until Lucas comes back, but everything is good. I am sorry that you did not get nominated for an Emmy you should have you are the most talented actors around and hopefully the stuff you submitted was when EJ was in the hospital after getting shot, those scenes nearly broke my heart how vulnerable you look in those scenes the eye and facial expressions is what really did it. any way got to run I hope one of these days to meet you one day I would really love that I hear nothing but fantastic things about you and how really friendly you are so I can't wait. Hope to hear from you real soon

Hi James,

Nice to see you are blogging again! Now first let me just say how much I LOVE EJ and Sami on Days. I am totally addicted! You and Ali have such a great chemistry that continues to amaze me. I have never been so hooked on a Days storyline in my life! I am so excited, cause Days is finally giving EJami a chance, they are the next supercouple!

I just watched the 5/15 epi and I am speechless. Your perfomance in the 12/29 talk was amazing to the point that I was crying my eyes out. It was amazing converstation and the best EJami episode ever. You deserve an EMMY! Outstanding job! Keep up the good work!

Love, Annie (Jate from Forbidden Love)

You are an amazing person and a brilliant actor. Thank you so much for blogging again and sharing with us moments so near to your heart.

James, so glad to see another post, I've been checking quite a bit to see when you'd post again :). I'm sorry you had negative comments, certainly don't let the few negative people bother you.

I love that you posted pictures, the river is beautiful. It always clears my head to get away and enjoy nature, I'm glad you have time to travel with your busy schedule. I really respect all your humanitarian work and enjoy your thoughts on Earth Day.

Your work on Days is wonderful. I have been watching days quite a bit of my life (my mom got me hooked) and you are the best and also my favorite actor. I really am enjoying your scenes lately with Ali, you two have so much chemistry. I'm so hooked!!!

Thanks for blogging again and I hope you enjoy your Summer.

Sarah (Sars FL addict :)

Thank you so much for blogging again. We are so glad that some negative comments have not steered you away from the vast majority of us. I really enjoy the fact that you try to educate your fans. Unfortunately some people tend to be really cruel. I love the depth you bring on and off screen. You are a very talented actor that has made me fan from the get go. Keep up the wonderful work!

Fantastic blog! Thank you for updating and sharing your wonderful adventure.
I really enjoyed the May 15th Ejami scenes, another stellar performance from you and Ali. I am patiently waiting for an Ejami lovestory. Stac

How wonderful to see you blogging again - not to worry, I think you've quite got the hang of it! ;-) Loved to see the pics - thanks so much for sharing those, as well as the tale of your adventures. As a 'green' type myself, I've been most interested to read about your 'green gold' project, and I am waiting to see the new Urth website - give those web guys a tap of the whip, eh? Meanwhile I've been enjoying your performance on Days tremendously - I was sniffling away during the scene this week where EJ and Sami discussed the night Johnny was conceived - I sure hope that's in your Emmy submission next year! You and Ali both deserved not only noms but awards for the work you've been doing this past year. I'm very glad TPTB on Days have done the smart thing and followed the chemistry - I've been watching Days for decades, and EJ and Sami have chemistry like I haven't seen in years - a supercouple if ever I saw one! Keep up the good work, and thanks again for keeping in touch!

James, I have been looking forward to your next blog. And after reading it, I must say, it was wonderful, just as I anticipated it would be. I know what it must take for you to share your personal thoughts and feelings with so many of us, but for your fans, it means the world to us to be able to better know "the James Scott" we love so much! Your efforts around the world are absolutely remarkable. The picture of the child melts my heart! I look forward to hearing many more of your stories in the future.

And I must add that the ladies at FL are on Cloud Nine with the current Ejami storyline. We have been waiting for a long time for Ejami to be able to put 12/29 behind them, and now the time has finally come. You are an amazing actor and an incredible human being!

Take care!

April

James , thank you so much for sharing your time with us , i just wanted to say that i am so proud of you , you are such an amazing actor and you seem like an amazing person as well. I personally think that a 17 years old girl shouldn't be wasting her time on Soaps , but i just couldn't help watching days because of you.I was born in Togo , West Africa and i moved to the us when i was 8 so i can really relate to the people that are need in there, thank you sooo.... much for helping them . Keep up th egood work , oh yeah and you are Tres sexy

James honey,
You are definitely "a bit of all that"!!
You are doing an amazing job with Ejami, and of course with Urth Solution.
Love you!
Julia

James, thank you for proving over and over what a fine human being you are. I'll be sad the day you won't grace our screens regularly because your other work is more important. I appreciate that you have an appropriate focus for your efforts to help others and to raise awareness that we must take care of our earth. The work isn't about you. It's about us and our collective duty to the planet and to each other. You are only a messenger. We EJ fans appreciate your acting talent and physical beauty so much. You are a magnificent creature. Meyghan is lucky to have you. Best wishes.

Hi ,James
How did u celebrate mother day ?

Hey James. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with all of us. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us, loved them. While I’m a big fan of your acting, it is what you do outside of acting that makes me an even bigger fan. You inspire me and I have a great deal of respect for you. What you’ve said in your blog really makes me think.
What you’ve said about the environment really speaks to me. It is something that has been on my mind a great deal lately. I’m trying to find ways that I can make a difference. My husband and I decided a while back that we’d swap all our light bulbs out for more energy efficient ones. It really makes a difference. We’ve also begun to participate in a recycling program recently started in our area. The University where I work has encouraged us to go green within our own departments. Sometimes that’s a simple as shutting of a light in an unused room. The library where I work now sends tons of paper to be recycled. In the area of the library where I work we receive Federal publications through a program called the Federal Depository Library Program. We have certain guidelines we must follow and one is some materials are superseded and can be thrown away. I’m becoming increasingly concerned about the amount of materials tossed and have recently contacted the Government Printing Office to see if recycling them is allowed. Hopefully it is allowed.
What has prompted me to do all this? Recent events within the last year have me concerned. Within the last year here in the South we’ve seen a great increase in tornados. It is something that hits very very close to home for me. I can’t help but wonder if what we’re doing to the environment is the cause of such weather. It is for that reason I want to try and do what I can to make a difference and help change things.
I honestly didn’t know that in 2007 for the first time in the history of our civilization, a majority of people in the world lived in cities. Thanks for educating me on that fact. It makes me appreciate living in rural Southwest Georgia more than I already do.
That quote is simply beautiful. I look forward to reading what you have to say next. Keep up all the great work that you’re doing.

I agree with anonymous above when said “Currently, the world exists in a model of sustainable policy development that over emphasizes the economic and environmental elements of sustainability, leaving at the wayside human beings and the “need to ensure a better quality of life for all, from now and into the future, in a just and equitable manner, while living within the limits of supporting ecosystems”

Upon doing a search on the internet and reading up on Urth Solutions it would be my opinion that this is what you are trying to do by aiding the communities in developing countries to develop their natural resources in an environmentally friendly manner and in this venture you would also be taking into consideration the people of these communities and their future generations as they develop and teaching them the limits of development in support of their ecosystems. In view of your last paragraph with regards to our past and learning from our forefathers the love and care of our earth we can also learn from this civilization’s mistakes in helping those in underdeveloped communities develop their resources in a way that is socially beneficial and environmentally friendly. I just can’t help but think that maybe us westerners can’t also learn from them in their simplicity and the generations of their forefathers in living and surviving in unison with their environment.

I will be keeping an eye open on Urth Solutions web page for further developments as I find this a very interesting venture.

On the lighter side, I like how Urth used the Settlers of Catan game board as a background to their web page. I would also like to add that I took a 10 year break from DOOL between college and life and got back into it when your character came on board. Keep up all the great work you do both on and off the set and don’t loose light on what your heart believes in.

Newfound James Scott fan (God, you have to get a kick out of all these people posting on this site and other sites out there.)

James, thank you for blogging again, It's great that your trying to help people, as well as helping make a difference
for the planet as a whole for generations to come. That helps inspires people all over the world, that they to can make a differance.
You're an amazing actor and the chemistry you and Ali have is unbelievable. When EJ and Sami discussed the night Johnny was conceived, they were so vulnerable, I started to tear up. I'm looking forward to more Ejami in the future.
btw, I started watching Days again because of EJ.

James- I have to admit that I sought out your blog for a little eye candy as well as some trivial information about your life, but am taken aback with the intelligent way in which you communicate. Who knew? Looks and brains too!
I live on 40 Acres of land in Southern Indiana.I have a 7 and 4 year old and we love spending time in the great outdoors. We spend our fair share trying to keep it beautiful too. (People like to throw trash on the sides of the roads and in ditches...we have spent plenty of weekends cleaning it up)We also started recyling more than just cans, and will be adding back chickens to our property as we enjoy fresh eggs. On another note...On Feb. 22, 2007 I was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 37. The EJAMI story line really got me through the 8 months of treatment that I endured. No matter how crappy I felt, I could always escape to the fantasy life of Days. Of course, it was totally more enjoyable the days that you were on! So, thanks for your work off and on DAYS. It made a difference in my life during a very challenging time!!! Kristine

James,
Loved your new blog entry. You are such an awesome human being. You definately make this world a better place. Keep up the great work.
I was so dissappointed when you didn't get an emmy nomination, but in my eyes, you already are the best daytime actor. You don't need an emmy for me to know that. But I will say you totally deserve it!!
Thank you so much for making DOOL interesting again. You are totally the main reason I watch the show. No offense to anyone, but you blow all of the other actors away!!!
We love you James and really appreciate you taking the time to blog. Hope to hear from you again soon.
Love,
Jacklyn

Hi James It's too bad that no one pays any attention to your blogs, lol. Love your pics. Looking forward to seeing more of them. It's rare to find such a sense of responsibilty, compassion and motivation for people and the planet. You are a wonderful role model for all generations. As for your portrayal of EJ I can only say that you are mesmerizing. There are so many scenes that are memorable but I have to say today's talk with Sami was remarkable. Such emotion, such an unforgettable performance, wow! In fact all the scenes this May have been good, glad to see gray EJ back. Looking forward to some EJami 'Good Lovin' this summer!! Linda/mtn/FL member

James Scott I love you!!!! You are an amazing man!!!!

James - I simply love that you do so much. You don't just write a check, you get right in the mess and mud and beauty of it. Since it seems we're trading quotes and one I try to live by seems fitting.....

Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake. Thoreau

Isn't it lovely when the one who dreams is also thoughtful.
Love you James.

Jane AKA EJamination @ FL

Lets try this again, the first didn't post for some reason.Don't remember what I said but glad to know even with your busy schedule you still have time to do porjects that are so important to our world. I too want to go to Africa and Madagascar someday. It looks like a very beautiful place but very poor. Keep up the great work on and off camara. I love British men. They are still true gentlemen. I'll be watching. New Fan:)

James...you are an absolute dream. We actually have a lot in common, which just makes me love you even more. You are killing it on Days; I tune in just to watch you and Ali. Please keep blogging!

Testing?

James,
I sincerely hope you were pleased with your work with Alison Sweeney in the recently aired shows. As an actor, you should be standing back and acknowledging a job well done. It was amazing to watch you at work on those scenes. While I only wish you continued success as an actor, please know that if you decided to throw it all in tomorrow, you have made an impact.
My mother is visiting from Australia and she watched Days for the first time yesterday (5/15). She sat silently through your scenes with Ali and then in the commercial break she said quietly, "What on earth did that handsome young man do to that girl?" She was totally caught up in the drama, and cannot wait to watch more today!
Again, great work, and I hope you are kind enough to yourself to take a moment and say "I did good". Because you bloody well did!

- Missus B

James, quit appearing in my dreams. You are making it difficult for me to get a full nights sleep. ;)

Love you James!!

Jenna

James, I know you are not really a TV watcher, but I would encourage you to watch what you did yesterday in the "EJ and Sami have the talk" episode. You should be very proud. Your acting skills are far beyond your time. Acting is my passion and as my life has thrown some curve balls at me, I have had to pursue other things and deeply regret not being able to act and not having stayed with it. I realize you have other passions, all of which are so admirable. I do hope that you do not ever give up acting completely. It will always be inside you, trust me. You are so talented and really should give yourself a pat on the back for the work you did on yesterday's show.

Hi, James! Thank you so much for blogging again. So wonderful to hear there are actually people who can make a difference in this world! Thanks for being you (as handsome as you are).
Katie :D

Aloha James!

Does the heart good to read your thoughts. What is the saying? To prepare for the future one must look towards the past. I look around myself and wonder how does one go back to the basics and is it truly possible? What layers must be shed to obtain simplicity and what can stay still maintaining simplicity yet also feed the desire for convenience? Does a choice need to be made? But in seeing companies such as your URTH Solutions and others taking strides towards s higher consciousness I realize their is a march towards a higher energy vibration. But at the same time as they live and exist in the now working to build better working relationships with nature and life, it still pushes forward the humane desires for material possessions and "class" identification. For example-URTH Solutions has gold that has been mined for in humane ways (NEEDED) and sold for a profit. Monies obtained are then dispersed though out the company and to rebuilding Third World Countries. Higher Energy= Humane mining and Third World Countries. Lower Energy= Gold and jewelry as a way of promoting the separation of the classes. (Ironically using the energy of the lower to empower the higher.) So it brings me back to my question on what must be stripped away to regain the authentic self and higher existence and what can stay?

Other Topics: The picture of you in that river is unbelievable! How beautiful! I am enjoying Days so much more. I am grateful to have Dena and Co. as our new writers and I am so happy with the show as a whole. It is great to read your thoughts, thanks for taking the time to blog again...KEEP IT UP! =) Have a great day, loving what you bring to this world, to the soap that I love and the way you empower and inspire.

Love N' Light,

Shakabigfoot

How can I forget??? EJAMI ROCKS BABY!{wink}

James, you are much loved and adored. Keep doing what you're doing.

I know you must have a kabillion women writing you and/or throwing themselves at you, and yes, I would definitely be at the front of that line. Seriously, you are a gorgeous and beautiful person on the outside, which we are fortunate enough to see on Days, and on the inside, which we can now learn through your blog. Thank you so much for sharing some of your free time with us.

You are a gift from God to this Earth. Keep doing what you're doing. Thanks for blogging and hopefully you'll have a chance to keep doing it.

One last thing, you better stay on Days. Don't go anywhere and if the day comes when you absolutely must, then make sure to let us know so we can follow you wherever you go.

Best wishes and my best to the Days cast and crew. You guys are awesome ! Good luck with the wedding planning. When is the beautiful day ?

Love always - Dolly, Jacksonville, Florida

Wow man. Thanks for the thoughtful blog!I'm from South America but live in the states now and reading that makes me want to be back so badly! It's true...sometimes the happiest and kindest people are found in the less developed parts of the world. Your experience sounds amazing. Anyway, really enjoying your scenes lately! You and Ali are doing amazing. Hope you have a great summer!

o ps- Love that quote. Everyone in school thought Wordsworth was boring but he's one of my favorites. Inspired the daffodil tattoo on my ankle :)

Hi James, I'm also not much of blogging myself, but your blog was worth commenting on. I just wanted to say, that I admire you for what You said in your blog, you seem a very kind and smart person. Your thoughts on our planet could inspire a lot of people, so thank you for writing about it. And even though there are some negative comments, they aren't important, the most important are the positive ones, so don't let that stop you from blogging again. I'm looking forward to another of your blogs! I love your acting in Days, I think you have a great talent in acting, so continue the good work! (My writing isn't that good, so if you read anything non-logical, I have a good reason: I live in Holland.)
In Holland they don't air Days of Our Lives anymore, but because of the internet I still have the chance to watch the show.

Ok, so you got the look, the brain, and a heart of gold. Seriously, could you BE any more PERFECT!!
Now, my question is, does Meyghan thank her lucky star every they for having you?
Keep up the good work, and stay as you are!!
Love ya,

Wow - I just stumbled upon this blog and am so very glad to have done so. Truly thought provoking and inspiring. Sometimes I forget that there are people in this world that can see the immense beauty in nature's complex simplicity. Thank you for that reminder - and thank you for sharing your photos.

James, Thank you for all you are doing to raise awareness on helping the Earth and people who are less fortunate. I also want to thank you for the fantastic way that you are playing EJ right now. The eppy with EJ's very heartfelt apology to Sami was the best eppy I have
